After the 2001 Taiwan Falun Dafa Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference (December 24-27, 2001), practitioners from Taiwan and other countries went to the Sun-Moon Pond and other tourist sites to practice and Hongfa. They also had experience sharing with local practitioners.

(Clearwisdom.net) It is very convenient to introduce Dafa through the Internet. Recently, I was thinking about how to introduce Dafa and clarify the truth in broader and deeper ways that everyday people enjoy and easily accept.

Let's begin with some specific ideas.

Many of practitioners' poems are excellent. We can find some literary forums on the Internet and then post the poems there. Or we can submit the poems to literary publishing companies. Because the poems meet with the publishing requirements, if they are published, they will attract great attention.

It is known that practitioners' songs have played a very important role in spreading Dafa. Many everyday people are interested in these songs. The reason is that the songs manifest Dafa's mighty power and embody practitioners' pure hearts. This is a good method to spread Dafa to everyday people which should not be neglected.

Dafa is creating a brand new world for human society. We should manifest the mighty power and divineness of Dafa in every direction of everyday people's lives.

If we pay attention, we may find a lot of things we can do on the Internet. Everyday, there are millions of people in China surfing the net. The broadband network is springing up. Watching movies on the Internet is becoming very popular. Many programs on FGM TV are very impressive. Could those practitioners who have the ability spread Dafa using these sources?

Not only limited to these, we can set up some "special topic" websites, such as: poetry, prehistoric civilization, medicine, Ms. Zhang's paintings, professor Zhang Kunlun's sculptures, etc. All of these "topics" have the same base ---the pure insights enlightened from Dafa.

Actually, some blocked information is still accessible in China. I have successfully visited some websites of practitioners abroad without any technical problems.

So overseas practitioners can build many Dafa websites, especially Chinese websites. But one thing I should mention is that we should exclude some key words from the URL. For example, an URL like http://.../falun.html is very easily blocked. If it is possible, we can apply for URL addresses in the form like https://(this kind of URL supports SSL encryption protocol). Generally, it would cost some money. I have done some research and some sites are available at very reasonable rates.

Of course, the workload would be very heavy. But none of our efforts would be in vain. Relatively speaking, the most convenient way is to find a forum or a network community and post some articles.

What I have talked about above focuses on ideas about how to spread Dafa and clarify the truth through the Internet with poems. In fact, the process of clarifying the truth has already fully and deeply included in clarifying the truth that "Falun Dafa is good" from multi-aspect and multi-direction of human life.

This is my personal understanding for discussion with our fellow practitioners.

(10) Madness of the evil

They had not returned that evening after distributing materials. A practitioner who took some materials from Li Yi and Li Na said he took the last two boxes and watched them drive away. The person who took material from the college student said that several cars stopped their vehicle. A few days later the authorities ransacked Li Yi's home.

During the next few days the bindery, Old Hu's home and three nearby places were all ransacked; 17 people were arrested and property was confiscated. Mr. Hu's wife had given birth less than a month ago, the police even arrested the one who took care of her and stole cash and personal property. Only the mother and the newborn were left at home, and still, someone would show up at anytime to threaten them. Li Jie sent forth righteous thoughts and came out from detention on the second day. She did not cooperate with the violent thieves at the time she was pregnant. The vicious thugs were afraid for her losing her life and left her in a remote place and ran away. Several days later, another two female practitioners came out from the detention. They were also held in the detention center, refused to cooperate with the vicious thugs, and used righteous thoughts to break out of detention. We have lost contact with the other people.

Our materials workshop continued to operate. Several days later I took a taxi to send materials. Li Jie brought the two female practitioners (mentioned above) who quickly put the material into their car and left. Li Jie and I had other matters to take care of and made a phone call. After a while we were called and told that the two women discovered that they were being followed at the gas station. We quickly walked toward the bus station. Li Jie found that there were 5 or 6 young people following us. We took the bus toward the city. They rode a taxi following us. I was a bit nervous, but Li Jie encouraged me to have righteous thoughts, that the spies were nothing! The bus was going forward. At a station that I was familiar with I suddenly got off the bus, running toward a large area of one-story buildings. I quickly passed through alleys, and they were pursuing me. I made several sharp turns and ran into the residential building and destroyed the address book. I calmed down a little bit, and took off my jacket and knapsack, putting them into an empty box. Then I went downstairs and sat at the roadside. I saw 4 or 5 plainclothes passing me.

I immediately called the materials site and told them that spies could find out about the site from the car I rented. Thus they evacuated from the site. Li Jie quickly got rid of the followers. She had experienced danger more than 10 times before, but every time she came out of it with dignity. Once she was kidnapped to Section 7 of the city police department. She then used righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil force there, and within only one day she came out. The two ladies in the car who picked up the materials had been arrested and no more information about them has been available since then. The husband of one of the women was already illegally sentenced for making Dafa truth materials.

This time it was probably because our phone calls were monitored. On the second day when we went to observe the materials site it was already under 24-hour surveillance. One month later, two Dafa practitioners felt uneasy about abandoning the copier. They used to be police officers that cultivated Falun Dafa with determination, and were forced to leave home. These two practitioners distributed truth materials in Beijing to offer salvation to people, and tried to retrieve the machine from the monitored site. Once they opened the door, the spies began to close in. They were able to use their wisdom to evade their pursuers.

This multi-function machine, which had run for almost two months, was lost.

Beginning in 2001, inspite of this loss even more truth-telling literature, truth-telling CD's and truth-clarifying pictures were sent to the thousands of people in Beijing and all over China!

(11) Heaven and Earth Are Outraged

Later we got information about some of the missing Dafa practitioners.

Zhao Hong, Gao Jun, Old Wang, Li Yi, Li Na, the college student and his friends, a doctor (Ph.D), Old Hu, Little Jin, Little Chu, Little Feng, Aunt Bai, a little girl from the Northeast, a university lecturer and the other three people were illegally sentenced. Old Wang was sentenced to a 10-year term, Old Hu was sentenced to 9 years; Little Jin was sentenced to 3-1/2 years. Aunt Bai was arrested in the evening, right after her arrival in the afternoon, and was sentenced to one and half years. The other 13 people were sentenced to 4 to 6 years. All this happened without the benefit of due process of law.

One day I was having meal at a food stall when I met Old Hu's wife, carrying the baby. She said there was no information about Old Hu, and didn't know where to look for him. After the baby's one-month birthday she was not allowed to stay at home. Money was stolen, and there was no place to stay. She was homeless and moving from place to place. Only with the help of practitioners was she able to find other places to stay. But before long, they ransacked her belongings again. This time she was left with nothing. She said with a smile, only the child and I were left! One practitioner brought her baby clothes and diapers, and then she left with the baby.

To those Dafa practitioners who are willing to sacrifice everything of their own for more people's happy future, we pay respect to you with Heshi! [a gesture to pay respect in Buddha's School]

(12) What is More Precious Than Money

As of this conclusion we are writing down several stories related to money.

A young couple was fired. Their work unit gave them several thousand Yuan as severance pay. That is, the work/state enterprise unit permanently "buys out" their labor "liabilities." That means that the fired ex-employees will no longer enjoy a retirement pension, or welfare and medical insurance from the company. The couple then looked for temporary jobs to make a living, and their parents were taking care of the baby. The couple went out to validate Dafa and was illegally imprisoned. After they came back from detention, the police and security people were regularly harassing them. They could not work so they stayed at home. This couple spent 10 thousand Yuan to buy over 50 cartons of paper for Dafa work, saying they could provide more if needed.

Later on we found out where the money came from to buy the multi-function copier. There is an old man in Gongzhuling City of Jilin Province in Northeast. He sold his own house and used the money to spread the truth. He had asked a practitioner to take 50 thousand Yuan of this money to Beijing. When the old man learned that the money was used to print materials, he was so glad! He took the materials to his hometown to distribute, doing this several times. The last time the police discovered him. The vicious police heartlessly and cruelly beat the old man. They interrogated him about the source of the materials. The old man said nothing. The police officers continued to beat him. They finally beat the old man to death. What a great old man!

Any news regarding Falun Gong is categorized as "top news" by CCVT. All Falun Gong "news" is drafted by a confidential group of "reporters" from the office of the Managing Editor following the political directives of various departments. Reporters in the News Department are not allowed to conduct real-life interviews regarding Falun Gong. Reporting is done secretly by a special group of people. In fact, those of us in the News Department don't want to be involved in the fabrication of such news and want to have nothing to do with it. We know clearly that the news is false. Who would want to work on it?

The special group is composed of corrupt reporters and politically reliable editors under the direct control of the National Security Bureau.

(Clearwisdom.net) Teacher said: "The path a Dafa disciple takes is a glorious history, and this history has to be created by his own enlightening ("Path")."

Dafa disciple Li Xiumei was an acquaintance of mine. Years ago, it was widely known that she suffered from many diseases. Upon obtaining Dafa in 1995, she strictly improved herself according to the requirements of Dafa and soon became completely free of illness. Since she benefited so much from Dafa, she wanted to spread and promote Dafa using her own experiences. Over the years, she carried a cassette player to her practice site daily, taught many new practitioners, and organized group Fa study, therefore providing a very good cultivation environment for all.

After the evil forces started persecuting Falun Dafa on July 20, 1999, she decided to go to appeal in Beijing in April 2000 to demand justice for Dafa. On her way to Beijing she was arrested at the Dalian railway station and detained in a drug rehabilitation center for over 40 days. During her detention, she continued to study the Fa and practice the exercises. Refusing to comply with the evil's demands, she spent 12 days on a hunger strike. In the end, the evil could do nothing but release her. Since then, she actively engaged in distributing Dafa truth materials, making banners, spraying characters on the wall, writing truth-clarifying signs, and many other things. She would do whatever was good for Dafa and all beings.

Once, she went to distribute truth-clarifying materials at a bus station. After finishing distribution on four buses, she was approached by a woman who asked: "How dare you still distribute this?" Xiumei peacefully explained the truth to her and continued distributing the materials the rest of the morning.

One evening, after she finished distributing truth-clarifying materials on the fourth floor of a building, a man passed by her and went upstairs. After he found the truth-clarifying materials at his door, he ran down immediately and asked her: "Did you do this? It's so late in the night and you are so old already! Even if you do not care about your own safety, you should think of others." She said, "I'm doing this for your sake and for the sake of all people who still have righteous thoughts. I've taken the risk of being arrested, beaten, and sentenced to prison in order to bring you these truth-clarifying materials so that you can tell good from bad and choose a good future for yourself." The man was very moved by her words and said: "You should be careful in doing this in the future. Take care!"

Once when she was distributing truth-clarifying materials in a high-rise building, two women went after her and threatened to dial 110 and report her to the police. Whenever she encountered such situations, she would clarify the truth to the people and tell them about "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance." After they learned that what was played on TV was false propaganda, they naturally understood good from bad and could distinguish the righteous from the evil. To give more beings the chance of being saved, she wasted no time, day or night, in good or bad weather, always offering salvation to the precious beings.

Once, when she was posting a truth-clarifying sign in the corridor of a building, a woman came out, stared at it and asked: "Does it serve any use for you to post this?" Xiumei patiently answered, "Yes, go read it and you will understand. To eliminate the evil is to eliminate the evil in other dimensions. After the evils are eliminated, a person's kind nature will emerge and he will not commit bad deeds and wreck the country. When people become good in their hearts, the society will be stable. Only when a person has a good thought towards Dafa will his life have a good future." Finally, the woman asked, "Is it true?" Xiumei replied, "Yes, it's true. Every character and every sentence is true. If you don't know it, it's because you have not read Zhuan Falun." The woman said, "I believe what you say." As she was leaving, the woman said to her, "You must be more careful and not let the bad people see you (doing this)." Xiumei replied, "Thank you. When the Fa is rectified and the world celebrates together, I will come to see you again."

On May 12, 2001, Li Xiumei went to Beijing for the third time to assist with Fa-rectification, eliminate the evil, and unfold banners. On the returning train, she discovered a man observing her. So she started sending forth righteous thoughts. The man immediately became restless and started to contact the train driver and make phone calls with his cellular phone. She used her wisdom to get off the train halfway through her trip, and returned home safely.

Whenever a "sensitive date" arrived, the evil would try to harass her without fail. They said they did so because she was an assistant and was put on the blacklist by the "610 Office" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems). This past March, her local police station and residential committee attempted to brainwash her. Instead, she stayed firm in cultivation, refused to write a "guarantee" letter, refused to comply with the evil's demands, and escaped to her home. Several days later, she tried to go back to fetch something. On her way home she was arrested by the police and illegally jailed for 39 days.

This July, the police from her local police station arrived at her home and violently took her away. At that time, she was having diarrhea and looked very bad. When she was taken down and out of the building, all her neighbors on the site said, "She looks so sick. Don't you have any bit of conscience by treating people like that?" Seeing that everyone was talking like that, the wicked police felt at a loss as to what to do but asked for instructions from the director. They then lied to the neighbors, saying they were taking her to the doctor, when they really brought her to the police station. In the police station, she faced the evil, and eliminated the evil with righteous thoughts. She courageously walked out of the police station twice with a righteous mind. On the evening of December 3, Li Xiumei was seized and taken away by the evil police while she was distributing Dafa truth materials. She was illegally imprisoned in the Dalian Yaojia Detention Center. She steadfastly refused to cooperate with the evils, and was persecuted to death just recently.

On hearing the news we feel such pain due to the loss of our fellow Dafa practitioner. We also feel such admiration because another enlightened being was added to the world of eternal life.

Looking back at the path Li Xiumei took, we felt she was precisely what Master described in his short article, The Disciples' Magnificence, "The great Fa and the great epoch are forging the greatest Enlightened Beings."

(Clearwisdom.net) Ju Yajun, a Dafa practitioner from Yuquan Township of Acheng City, Heilongjiang Province, was tortured to death two months ago and his body was secretly dissected [believed to be done to remove organs] and cremated on December 18. Even his wife and child were denied their rights as immediate family to view the body and pay their last respects.

Some people with a conscience inside the government revealed that the Acheng City's, "610" office (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems) and the police department held a meeting and made the decision to dissect Ju Yajun's body and cremate him immediately without notifying various levels and the family. At the same time, a police squad was arranged to secretly monitor the Dafa practitioners of Yuquan Township and Acheng City. Such a decision made by the evil people was devoid of any morality or humanity. The life of a Dafa practitioner--Ju Yajun--was treated like dirt and his body was cremated to destroy the evidence of their crimes.

It was learned from some kind-hearted people in the police department that, the day before Ju Yajun's body was cremated, some of his relatives, after many strong requests, had a brief look at Ju Yajun's body while being monitored by the police. The situation at that time was as follows: All Ju Yajun's clothes were stripped off and wounds were seen all over his body. It could be clearly seen that there were large areas of bruises and black and blue marks on his left and right shoulders, chest, both sides and other parts of his body. This made Ju Yajun's body that had become emaciated due to the torture too horrible to look at and even his family could not recognize him. According to the information provided by some insider, during his detention in the Changlinzi Forced-labor Camp in Harbin, Ju Yajun was tortured without restraint. Faced with the facts that Mr. Ju obviously died as a result of the brutal persecution he received, various local governmental level, police departments, and the "610" office shifted responsibility onto each other while simultaneously threatening and intimidating insiders. The lawyers of Acheng City were also ordered not to take this case. So Ju Yajun's family and friends didn't have any place to make an appeal or file charges against the injustice to Mr. Ju.

During the routine processing procedure after Ju Yajun was tortured to death, relevant staff of the "610" office of Heilongjiang Province, Zhang Xiaoman of "610" office in Harbin City and relevant staff of "610" office in Acheng City, Section Chief Zhang, Bureau Head Zhang, Zhang Zhongfan of the police department, Xi Jinglong of Law Administration Section, etc. displayed a rude attitude and often threatened that it was a violation of the law if immediate cremation was not agreed to. Ju Yanyun's body was not allowed to be held in the mortuary for any period of time.

When is it a crime to be at one's home, sweeping the floor? How is it that a person can be taken from their home chores and sent without charge and against their will to a forced-labor camp only to die from being persecuted there? Ju Yanjun was simply sweeping the floor at home and as a result he was detained, sent to a forced-labor camp and charged with interfering with social order. When asked the above-mentioned questions, Xi Jinglong of the Law Administration Section of the police department answered, "From the beginning of 2001, it is all right to arrest Falun Gong practitioners in any place. It doesn't violate any law. This is a new regulation and there is no document and this message was verbally passed down."

Dafa practitioners face great pressure and the persecution is the evil's trampling on kind people. All kind-hearted friends, let's take action together! Let's jointly stop the evil, awaken everyone's conscience, awaken their kind hearts and awaken justice!

(Clearwisdom.net) Practitioner Hou Yanshuang who lives in the East District near Lingyuan Steel Mill was arrested when he was clarifying the truth about Dafa, and was deprived of sleep for 2 days. The criminal policemen seized all his cash and deposit books totaling over 20,000 Yuan [the average income of an ordinary urban worker is 500 Yuan] under the guise of searching for Dafa books. In the City Police Department Detention Center, Deputy Chief Meng Xiandong put heavy shackles weighing some 40-50 pounds on Hou and did not take them off for over half a month. He also cuffed both of Hou's hands behind his back [one hand down from his shoulder and another hand up from his back] for 5 hours and wouldn't allow him to sleep, eat or sit. Hou could not take care of himself in any way.

Practitioner Zheng Chunyan, who lives in the East District of Lingyuan Steel Mill, was arrested into the No. 1 Section of the City Police Department on October 21, 2001 when she was clarifying the truth about Dafa. Police officers cuffed her hands behind her back to a chair, held her hair tightly while they slapped her face with a book and then forced her to stand with legs wide apart. The corrupt police kept scolding her while they beat her.

Practitioner Yu Shufen, female, who lives in the residential area of Lingyuan Construction Bank, was arrested and taken to the No.1 Section of the City Police Department on the morning of May 9, 2001 when she was hanging up a banner that read "Falun Dafa is good" in the area south of the Traffic Police Authority. The thugs, headed by Fu Yanling and Ren Shengjun threatened, intimidated and deceived her and said that if they beat her to death in the police department, she would be dying for nothing. Fu Yanling ruthlessly beat Yu's legs with a black rubber tube about a foot long and scolded her non-stop during the beating. At night, 4 to 5 criminal policemen cuffed Yu's hands behind her back with iron shackles and pushed her onto the sofa. Officer Ren Shengjun cruelly beat her arms and legs with a rubber tube. Ren did not stop beating the practitioner until he felt tired. Yu's arms and legs were beaten black and blue, and the swelling was severe. She was even deprived of sleep for the whole night after being beaten. Since then Yu has been unable to sleep for many days, in too much pain to even turn over. The arrest of Yu was authorized on August 14 and she was illegally sentenced.

Practitioner Zhang Yali, who lives in the East District of Lingyuan Steel Mill, was forcefully brought to the City Police Department Detention Center on July 30, 2001 by a group of criminal policemen headed by Chief Kang, because she persisted in practicing Dafa. She has been illegally detained for more than 4 months.

Practitioner Yu Shimin who lives in the West District of Lingyuan Steel Mill was arrested on September 1, 2001 when she was putting up truth-clarifying materials on the roadside in order to clarify the truth of Dafa to people. She was forcibly brought to the Lingbei Police Station and was deprived of sleep for 5 days and 4 nights. In the daytime she was brought to the No.1 Section of the City Police Department for illegal interrogation and was intimidated. As a law enforcer, section chief Fu Yanling violated the law and instead led others to slap Yu in the face.

Four criminal policemen headed by Song Xiaoguang forcefully brought practitioner Zhang Suying, who lives in Xiaoxi Street, Lingyuan City, to the Nanjie Police Station. They broke into Zhang's house at about 10 p.m. on July 19, 2001, because she firmly practiced Dafa and had written a letter to the authorities of the city police department and Nanjie Police Station to verify that Falun Dafa is good. She has been illegally detained for over 4 months at City Police Department Detention Center.

Three older women, Sun Ying (60 years old) and Bai Liyan (66 years old) from Xiangdong and Ni Shuqin (61 years old) from Hekanzi Township, were arrested when clarifying the truth. The criminal police did not go easy even on these three elderly women. They shackled Bai Liyan's feet and punched and kicked Ni Shuqin. The three practitioners are now illegally detained at Lingyuan City's Police Department Detention Center. Sun Ying and Ni Shuqin have now been officially arrested.

Practitioner Ma Xijun, female, over 50 years old, is from Zhengzhou City. At 9:00 a.m. on November 14, 2001, policemen detained her when she distributed truth-clarifying literature. She was unlawfully imprisoned in Zhongyuan's Police Department No.2 Detention Center. She has been on a hunger strike for over 30 days. Another 4 or 5 practitioners have also been on a hunger strike over 10 days. Officials from the "610 Office" (An agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems) force-fed the practitioners, leading to their severe injuries and they are in critical condition. We hope people pay attention to this issue.

The New Year is drawing near. In order to persecute practitioners, the police authorities place Teacher's photographs on the ground at the entrance to railway stations. At the same time, the police have unjustifiably withheld practitioners' identification cards for over two years, which has brought a lot of inconveniences to practitioners.

Weicheng District's "610 Office" in Weifang City, Shandong Province is located on the second floor of Weicheng District's xx Party School. The abusive officials there mentally tormented practitioners. From October 2000 they continuously detained practitioners in brainwashing classes and attempted to force practitioners to give up their righteous beliefs by using all kinds of means. The evil was prevailing there. One day in a dream, I went to the "610 Office" by myself. In another dimension I saw a lot of big or small snakes creeping all over the building. Some snakes had several heads. They began to attack me. I sent out a Falun to eliminate them. I also killed a very big snake in the stairway leading to the second floor. This was my dream.

Afterwards I enlightened to the fact that we should eliminate the evil there. After I shared my opinion with other practitioners, many practitioners went to the vicinity of the xx Party School to send forth righteous thoughts in order to eliminate the evil and help all practitioners detained in the "610 Office" to step out of the evil dens with determined, righteous thoughts. Some practitioners placed a high volume speaker on the top of the building to expose the criminal acts of the lawless officials who have been persecuting practitioners. This righteous act effectively eliminated the evil forces in Weicheng District's "610 Office." After a short while, many practitioners were released.

Jiamusi City's Forced Labor Camp in Heilongjiang Province is located in the suburban Xigemu area of Jiamusi City. Over 50 practitioners are illegally detained there. Their detention terms ranged from 3 months to 2 years. The oldest practitioner in detention is 62 years old and the youngest is 21. Among them are associate professors and lecturers from universities; government officials and employees; university students, workers, farmers and housewives. Several of them are xx Party members. Some were arrested from their homes without any valid reason. Some were tortured to the point of being emaciated and could not take care of themselves or even walk.

Some officials in the labor camp embezzle "boarding fees." The food is very bad and far from enough. Sometimes there is no vegetable. The police also do not allow the families to send in food. The price of commodities is several times higher than the same item bought on the outside. Some poor practitioners have to use cardboard instead of toilet paper. One tube of toothpaste has to last for a year. They do not discard the water that is used to boil vegetables but keep it for the next meal. The practitioners are compassionate to the police and criminals in the labor camp, always considering others more than themselves. Criminals no longer abuse or beat each other at will.

Practitioners are not allowed to study the Fa or practice Falun Gong exercises in this labor camp. The wardens force practitioners to walk in formation and perform heavy labor. However the practitioners show fortitude and never cooperate with the evil forces. They tried to practice in the labor camp and resisted the forced labor, and went on a hunger strike to protest. Unfortunately, practitioners are often beaten, electrically shocked, handcuffed and tortured. Sometimes the chief warden by the name of He would personally torture practitioners.

In the "strictly managed team," every practitioner is held in solitary confinement. Some criminals were assigned to specially watch them. Practitioners are not allowed to get out of their cells. They are only allowed to go to the bathroom, one by one and are not permitted to talk with each other. The police and criminals watch practitioners around the clock.

The 17 practitioners in the "strictly administrated group" are: Wang Yuhong, Li Shuhua, Men Xiaohua, Yao Kai, Qiu Yuxia, Xie Hui, Liu Yan, Cheng Hanbo, Cui Chang'e, Chu Fengzhen, Wu Dongsheng, Zhao Yaxian, Li Yanmei, Jin Lihong, Xie Lipu, Zhao (first name is unclear).

On December 23, 2001, the truth-clarifying radio broadcast resounded in the sky above a city in northeast China. The radio broadcaster's ringing voice, along with the Dafa music "Pu Du" effectively shocked the evil. It also showed Master's compassion to people in the world, and showed as well as the hope that practitioners brought to people, to awaken their conscience.

We had put in lots of effort to make the broadcast successfully. Because of the cold weather, sometimes the batteries wouldn't work. We had to contend with the disruptions from the evil forces, such as the squad of police that caused us lots of trouble. However, we conquered all the difficulties with righteous thoughts, righteous belief and righteous behavior. Finally, we succeeded.

We deeply felt the compassion from Master and the greatness of the Fa. We had thought that we just did something for Fa-rectification and eliminating the evil. But during the process we found that we had let go of many attachments, such as the attachment to fear, the attachment of accomplishing a task, anxiety, zealotry, and the competitive mentality. After we were done, every one felt we had been changed into new persons.

When those practitioners who previously went on a wrong path came back to the Fa-rectification, they would face more severe tribulations. When they first came back home from detention centers everything seemed all right. However shortly after, a police officer would suddenly come to their homes and asked them to write the "rupture statement" (a statement signifying that they would break away from Dafa and renounce Dafa). None of the genuine practitioners wrote the statement. Recently, a brainwashing class was held again at our district. In the eyes of the evil forces, we became the "key persons." When practitioners heard about this, we collectively sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil that is behind the brainwashing class. Only a few people eventually attended the brainwashing class, which was planned to have dozens of people.

This situation outraged the evil forces. Because the police authorities couldn't find the practitioners who no longer had a job they put more pressure on the practitioners who still had a job. If the practitioners refused to attend the class they would be put on probation and their salary would be suspended. However money, reputation and status mean nothing to genuine practitioners. They acted nobly and above board to rectify all unrighteous things. We came to the realization that our families shouldn't be broken up, simply because we practice the Fa. We Fa-rectification practitioners couldn't accept such arrangement made by the evil forces. Under the great power of righteous thoughts, the brainwashing class was totally bankrupt.

In the middle of December in Hailun City, Heilongjiang Province, the police illegally arrested female practitioner Liu Deqing because she delivered truth-clarifying materials. Li Guiyun (female) was also illegally arrested because the police found Dafa materials at her home. Now they are detained at the local detention center without benefit of law.

I am a practitioner from Dalian City, Liaoning Province. In September 2001, I was arrested and sent to Dalian's Yaojia Detention Center because I clarified the truth to people. Five or six practitioners were locked up in each cell. A prisoner in my cell told me that since September 2001, more than one hundred practitioners had been detained in this cell.

The five of us fellow practitioners refused to cooperate with evil and firmly resisted wearing a prison uniform or recite jail rules. As a result, one of the practitioners was excruciatingly tortured. Afterward we went on a hunger strike and never complied with their demands. Each of us was force-fed by six or seven criminals. The plastic tubes used for force-feeding us injured our nasal passages causing them to bleed. It was so painful that we couldn't fall asleep at night. The next day they continued to force-feed us. The jail doctor told us he would feed us like this every day, as long as we refused to eat. We often silently recited Master's words, "To live with no pursuits, to die with no regrets; all excessive thoughts were extinguished, cultivating Buddha-hood is not difficult."(Hong Yin "Non-existence"). We would never give in to the evil and were determined to safeguard the truth with our lives.

Since we sent forth righteous thoughts, the tubes couldn't be inserted into our noses at all, much less be used to feed us. So the evil took four of us to the hospital for force-feeding. The doctors of the emergency treatment center heard that we were Falun Gong practitioners and that we had been on a hunger strike for eight days. They feared that our life would be endangered if they force-fed us and repeatedly requested to give us a physical check up. The results showed that one of us had a "heart condition;" someone else's blood pressure was "140-160;" another practitioner and I had normal blood pressure, but the heartbeats were as high as 120 beats per minute. When the policemen and the doctor were force-feeding the first two practitioners mentioned above, we unlocked the handcuffs with firm righteous thoughts and walked out of the hospital in our socks.

Later, policemen searched my house and took away my telephone book. Furthermore, there were plainclothes police near my home watching me. I was forced to leave home. The policemen hunted for me everywhere. They went to my mother's home, sister's home and other relatives' homes and wantonly harassed them.

At 3:00 p.m. on September 29, 2001, when female practitioner Wen Fengqing, a dressmaker from Youyi County, Heilongjiang Province, was working at home, the scoundrel Wu Xiangren, from local the "610 Office," together with two policemen rushed into her house and forcibly dragged her out without showing any arrest warrant. At that time, she only wore her thermal underwear and slippers, and even had no time to turn off the electric iron. She was sent to a forced labor camp. (The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems).

Lawless police officers from Jiammusi City illegally arrested and then sent practitioner Wang Lijie and her son Fu Wenbin (38 years old) from Dongrui Village, Yanshan Township of Fujin City to Fujin City's Detention Center. The policemen attempted to force Fu Wenbin to write a so-called "repentance letter" and "renouncing letter" (to give up Dafa and renounce it) and curse Teacher. Fu Wenbin refused to comply. The police instigated prisoners to brutally beat him black and blue in order to force him to write the "repentance letter." His eyes were swollen from the beatings. Mr. Fu's wife doesn't practice Falun Dafa. The lawless policemen illegally detained her, since she helped her husband resist the arrest. A policeman with badge No.054672 forced her to write a "repentance letter" and also curse Teacher. The officers were extremely atrocious.

Seven practitioners have been illegally detained here for a long time. Two of them are male practitioners and five are female. We call on all people who have a sense of justice to pay attention to this situation and help to free them as soon as possible!

Before October 1st practitioners Han Guilian, her older sister and Li Meiyu's mother from Hongxing Village of Baoqing County went to appeal in Beijing. Some vile person reported them to the police. The police from Baoqing County's Police Department took them back and illegally detained them at Baoqing County's No.1 Detention Center. Li Meiyu's mother is over 70 years old. She was released after being unlawfully detained for over 2 months. These lawless policemen also forcibly took practitioner Han Guilan's younger sister away from home. The three sisters have not yet been released. On the evening of December 13, policemen took practitioner Li Meiyu away. She has a 3-year-old child at home.

Almost everyone in Qiu Shihui's family practices Falun Gong. Qiu Shihui's husband was illegally sentenced to 2 years of forced labor for practicing Falun Gong. Qiu Shihui herself was forced to leave home with her only several-month-old baby to avoid illegal arrest. Her sister and brother-in-law were successively arrested. Her mother is under house arrest. Her sister walked out of the police department with righteous thoughts and has to live in exile to avoid further persecution.

On December 13, 2001, officers from the Shenli Police Department of Anshan City illegally arrested the two sisters. That same night, the lawless police officers extorted confessions from them by use of excruciatingly painful means. The police also illegally searched their relatives' homes. On the second night we heard that the sisters jumped off from the 4^th floor. This was obviously a lie. This situation needs further, detailed investigation.

It is said that the sisters Qiu Shihui and Qiu Xinghua were transferred to the Shuangshan Hospital of Anshan City and are monitored around the clock by 6 policemen. Nobody is allowed to visit them. Their husbands are both illegally detained at Anshan City's Forced Labor Camp. Their young children are left home alone without any care. Up to now, the lawless officers still don't allow the children to see their mothers. The children's freedom is also restricted.

Last year, Guangzhou's "Law Education School" was a place especially set up and dedicated for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Most of the practitioners being detained there had been forcibly arrested. Some of them were even surrounded by over a dozen people on the street in the broad daylight and forcibly taken there.

Usually, practitioners being detained here were forced to write the so-called "four letters" including the "guarantee letter," "repentance letter," "renouncing letter" and "criticizing letter." (Letter to give up Dafa, to guarantee never to go to Beijing to appeal for Dafa, to be sorry to ever having practiced Dafa and to criticize the practice). Additionally, the practitioners had to go through a "test period" which usually lasted one to three months. They had to pass through level after level of so-called "check and accept," including their school, work unit performance, the street administrative committee, the district "610 Office" and the municipal "610 Office." (An agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems).

Every practitioner had to pay 3,600 Yuan per month to cover "tuition fees and living expenses." The police also assigned two "companions" (now renamed "assistant teachers") to each practitioner and charged the "assistant teachers" 3,000 Yuan per month for living expenses. If the work unit couldn't afford or didn't want to pay the tuition fee when the practitioner refused to give up cultivation, the case would be "escalated" and the practitioners would be sent to a forced labor camp.

At present, the four practitioners who refused to write the so-called "four letters" are Chen Ruichang from Guangdong Province Radio Station, Peng Lin (female) from Guangzhou Foreign Economy and Trade Company, Xu Ming from Guangdong Arts Normal School, and Wang Xia (female) from Huadu City. They have already been unlawfully detained for 3 to 7 months respectively, and some of them have been sent to forced labor camps without benefit of due process of law.

As practitioners in China face tremendous pressure to give up their beliefs under the Chinese regime's brutal persecution, there are those who have given in and signed documents renouncing Falun Dafa. However, many of these people deeply regret doing so after they are released from detention and labor camps. "Solemn declarations" are the public statements made by such practitioners, often at great risk to their personal safety, to declare to the world that the documents they signed under duress are null and void and that they will continue to practice Falun Dafa.

(Clearwisdom.net) The No.1 Female Camp of Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province is a concentration camp where female Falun Gong practitioners are illegally detained, forced into slave labor and violently tortured.

The main work there is clothing manufacturing. During off-season, when clothing orders are light, camp prisoners are forced to work for other manufacturing units or make handicrafts. The No. 1 Female Camp is known to outsiders as "Shenyang Yihua Clothes Factory." Most of their products are military cotton overcoats. They also make products for individual retailers such as for the Wuai Market in Shenyang City. Their product line includes brand-name sportswear and down coats such as the brand name Jia Yuan. In addition, the labor camp also makes export goods, such as casual wear, sports suits and pajamas. Their handicrafts are also exported. Not only are the detainees paid no wages, the camp also increased their workload in both time and intensity so they can boost the productivity and profits.

The detainees have no days off during the week. In the whole year of 2000, they had no more than 7 days off. Their everyday work hours are from 6:30 -- 11:30 a.m, 12:30 -- 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 -- 10 p.m, sometimes even until midnight, totaling 14-16 hours. Furthermore, the camp management often lengthens working hours arbitrarily, claiming a tight schedule, deadlines, and other excuses. For example, the lunch and dinner breaks as well as bedtime can be assigned to overtime work with no apology. Sometimes, the labor camp officials cut short the deadline by forcing detainees to work continuously until 3 to 4 a.m. the next day. There were times when they were forced to work 36 hours nonstop. Because of the excessive workload and high stress, a large number of detainees suffer from bruised and even atrophied muscles on one side of their buttocks. Many have swollen legs and irregular menstruation. Some even faint while working, due to exhaustion. These excessive work hours have caused serious damage to the health of laborers who were enslaved.

Everyone works like a robot. They are not allowed a single moment of rest. Their output must increase daily. If they make any mistakes or cause any quality control problems or there is a need for major reworking of an item, the laborers have to pay for the materials. They must bring their unfinished jobs to their prison cells to complete. Police or the head detainees [detainees selected to boss others] often punish those who are less productive by cursing, face slapping, forced squatting, forced lifting up of their rear end for a long time, electric baton shocking or sentence extension, besides other abuses.

Case 1: Falun Gong practitioners Chen Liyan and Sun Yulian were forced by the head detainees to maintain the difficult posture of lifting up their rear end for one hour before bedtime because they didn't finish their required work on time.

Case 2: On March 7, 2001, No. 3 team of No. 1 Division at No. 1 Camp received a batch of yellow, nylon-silk material for making export casual wear. Their order was for 300 in five days. The quality requirements for export products are very strict, and the key processes were all assigned to Falun Gong practitioners. The vicious police forced practitioners to work from 8:30 a.m. on March 11 to 4 p.m. on March 12, for 36 hours nonstop. The practitioners didn't leave the work platform for a day and a night and were extremely exhausted and hungry. However, the police kept pushing and yelling at them for 36 hours straight. They were not allowed to eat lunch on March 11 and no overtime meal was provided.

The people enslaved there are in different age groups, varying from 14 years of age to over 60, all of whom have to work. People who are sick are never permitted to be absent, except in the case of exceptionally serious illness. They are forced to return immediately to work after receiving intravenous drips, even if they have a notice for rest from a doctor. Oftentimes, handicapped prisoners and people with a serious illness can be seen being pushed or carried to the workplace and forced to do what they could. People can be assigned to do heavy labor at any time, such as loading and unloading carts and carrying bags. After they finish, they have to immediately return to the workroom and resume their routine work. People there often say, "I'd rather die than live here. However, I am not allowed to die. I hope I can get out of here alive." Everything was done by force. The police often say things like, "The labor camp is a government institute designed to forcefully reform people;" "This is where we bend people's temper," and other offensive rhetoric. Everyone is surrounded by an atmosphere of suppression and terror.

The prisoners here come from all over the country. Drug abusers, prostitutes, thieves, gangsters and con artists are all mixed together. Other than forced labor, the camp authorities never implement any positive education. In the labor camp officials' words, people can only become worse in the labor camp. For the past two years the number of repeat offenders increased dramatically and many people have gone into committing multiple crimes.

Here, the daily schedule is strictly reinforced. Most police here are very good at using violence and coercion. The daily restroom time is 9:15 a.m. -- 9:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. -- 3:30 p.m. People are not allowed to talk during restroom breaks so they won't miss their work time. Only cold water is available for drinking, washing and showers. Hot water showers provided on holidays have to be purchased and paid for by the inmates.

Falun Gong practitioners not only had to endure physical torture from the forced labor, they also have to bear mental torture. They don't have any personal or verbal freedom. To punish the most devoted practitioners, the labor camp officials put them into "repeat prisoners" groups, which have the heaviest workload, the strictest discipline and the worst criminals. In addition, two inmates accompany each practitioner 24 hours a day. Each practitioner sleeps between the two prisoners and is followed even when she goes to the restroom. The inmates have to report to the police regularly. If they don't have the practitioner under control, their sentences will be extended. Here the practitioners are not allowed to study Dafa or do exercises, nor can they talk to each other. Their letters must be opened and examined by the police before they can be received or sent out.

In the period between May 1^st, 2000 and May 2001, the labor camp enforcers used force to brainwash all practitioners and barred their families from visiting. They blocked all communication to and from the outside world. Many practitioners' family members wrote and called in to inquire whether their loved ones were still alive. In order to carry out the government's orders and achieve a "brainwashed" quota [number of people who are forced to give up Dafa cultivation], the thugs acted ruthlessly and used all means in torturing practitioners. They used the "car wheel method" [several thugs take turns brainwashing a practitioner until the practitioner is exhausted and gives up] to reinforce brainwashing. They forced the practitioners to listen to, read and watch TV programs and articles that slander Teacher and Dafa. The police took the same tune as the national media, shouting, "You'll never be able to walk out of the labor camp's doors as long as you don't give in! Yield, or die!" They forced the devoted practitioners to sit on stools, from 8 a.m. to midnight, nine days in a row. Some practitioners were forced to stand, squat, be slapped on the face, hit by an electric baton, whipped with a steel rod, confined in solitary cells and deprived of sleep, and other abuses, for refusing to cooperate with the evil.

Case 1: Zhang Huishuang, 45, is a resident of Benxi City. Policewoman Zhang Yan, over 50 years old, forced her to stand still 40 days non-stop and shocked her with an electric baton for 5 days. Once, she was continuously shocked from 5 a.m. (or p.m.) [Note: from original article, it is not clear whether it is a.m. or p.m.] to 11 p.m.

Case 2: Lin Yan, 28, is a nurse in Huanggu District, Shenyang City. Zhou Qian (former head of No.3 team of No.1 Division at No.1 Female Camp), and Wang Yanping (head of No.1 Division of No.1 Female Camp, responsible for forced labor education) shocked Lin Yan with an electric baton to force her to give up her belief. The electric baton kept burning Lin Yan's skin while the policewomen shouted, "Are you going to reform or not? You must reform, like it or not." The unbearable pain made Young Lin Yan cry out. In the end she broke down from the torture and wrote the "three statements" in tears [Falun Gong practitioners are forced to write three statements: repentance statement, guarantee statement and criticizing statement under great pressure and physical torture, to give up their beliefs and slander Falun Gong]. Afterwards, Lin Yan felt so ashamed for bowing to the pressure and signing these documents that she wanted to die rather than renounce her belief. In her extreme grief, she attempted to harm herself and was rescued after emergency medical treatment. The labor camp feared exposure of this incident. They blocked all the information. No one took the responsibility for this incident. Zhuo Qian, the abuser, was transferred to No.2 Female Camp to continue her brutal brainwashing work. Another abuser, Wang Yanping, was still the head of No.1 Division. However, Lin Yan's family had to pay the 8,000 Yuan [about $1,000 USD] operation fee for her medical treatment. This incident was not resolved with any explanation.

During this period, enforcers from No.1 Female Camp sent 10 practitioners to No.2 Female Camp for a brainwashing experiment. They used all kinds of means to torture the practitioners. For example, practitioner Su Juzhen was hung up and handcuffed with both feet off the ground. We later learned that Su Juzhen's right leg was permanently disabled and she is crippled now. After practitioner Wang Manli refused to give up her belief, even though she was electrically shocked, they punished her, forcing her to squat, and beat her up, and then the police applied so-called mental pressure. They began to punish Wang's fellow inmates. They forced other inmates to squat with her and deprived them of their sleep, so everyone would blame Wang Manli.

The police also used so-called "family influence" to entice practitioners to give up Dafa. At first they did not allow practitioners to meet with their families and cut off all contact. Taking advantage of their desire to see each other, the police ordered the family members to persuade practitioners to give in. In the meantime they told the practitioners, "If you do not give up, your husband's promotion, your child's school enrollment, army recruitment, and Party membership will all be jeopardized. Your children will be discriminated against by the society." The officials of the labor camp also extended practitioners' illegal detention terms at will. Some practitioners' detention terms were extended by 9 to 12 months. Those include Liu Xiufen, Xu Xiuxia and Li Jinghua. In the brainwashing period, a police conversation was overheard in which it was said that Jiang Zemin's criminal regime selected Masanjia Forced Labor Camp as a "model camp" in China and their experience will be spread to the whole country. It was required that by the end of 2000, the brainwashing success rate should be 100 percent.

Masanjia Labor Camp is indeed a Nazi-style concentration camp. All they do is torture Falun Gong practitioners. They never offer any explanation for the extended detention after practitioners' terms are expired. The officials forbid the practitioners to appeal. They often claim, "You have no right to appeal. Even if you are allowed to appeal, you must not complain and call for justice." Some practitioners could not tolerate these unlawful acts. They went on a hunger strike to ask for their right to appeal. However, the camp police tortured practitioners by force-feeding and administered forced injections. For the practitioners, it was an extremely horrendous experience. Practitioners Qi Zhenrong and Zhang Huishuang have been force-fed for more than two months. They are in critical condition. Nie Jing, a practitioner from Jingzhou City, has been on a hunger strike nearly a month and is detained in No.3 Division of the No.1 Female Camp. Liu Fengmei was forced to jump off from a high building and suffered from lumbar vertebrae comminuted fracture. Though she was sent back home, the officials from the labor camp named Sheng Yin, the head of No.2 Division in No.1 Female Camp, often made phone calls to terrify her family, "Do not tell others. Do not have contact with other practitioners. Otherwise, we will get you back here anytime."

The forced brainwashing is carried out by law enforcers and is illegal. Wang Yanping, head of the No.1 Division openly claims, "The government sponsors what we do here. Even though you are not telling lies, the government does not agree with you." In fact, the "government" they mentioned is no more than a bunch of evil dictators. And the camp officials themselves have turned into cold-blood murderers. They are facing their eventual punishment according to the law.

On November 4, 1999, fellow inmates beat Chen Liyan, a 31-year-old practitioner from Gaizhou District of Dalian City, unconscious, as she practiced the exercises. Her brain was damaged and her eyesight was severely affected. The diagnosis from an ophthalmologist from Shenyang Medical University showed that the possibility of blindness could not be excluded (the certificate of the diagnosis is archived in the hospital). Chen Liyan was a college English teacher; now she cannot read. The intention of all the tortures is to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their cultivation practice and their belief in "Truth, Compassion and Tolerance."

(Clearwisdom.net) Heilongjiang Province's TV station recently reported on its legal news channel the case of a police officer from Daqing City who brutally tortured a suspect. The police officer was sentenced to one year in prison and probation for a year thereafter.

During the past two years, Jiang Zemin's gang more often than not outmatches the legal system, slandering Falun Gong, instigating legislative departments at all levels to thoroughly persecute kind-hearted Falun Gong practitioners. They use every cruel and inhumane means available to persecute and torture Dafa practitioners. The results are very disturbing. They have grossly violated the nation's laws, leaving no place for law-abiding citizens to appeal. On the contrary, the perpetrators are awarded with promotions and commendations. We would like to ask: Isn't everyone equal under the law? Isn't it the same with persecution and torture? Why has there been such a completely different result?

One day in September 2000, a female Dafa practitioner, about 50 years old, was brought into the Second Detention Center in Qiqihar City. Seeing her now, you wouldn't be able to figure out what her face was like before the torture. Her legs were all covered with dark and purple bruises. She could hardly walk, and could not sit or squat properly. She suffered injuries all over her body. Some of her hair was pulled out. Everyone in the detention center was shocked and asked what had happened to her. This practitioner's story is presented below.

Her name is Guan Yaru, a resident of Qiqihar City, in the section patrolled by the Minhang Road Police Station. Guan distributed truth-clarifying material for Falun Gong and was therefore illegally arrested and taken to the police station by policeman Zhou Huaiyu. When she had just entered her home, she was brutally beaten without a word by another police officer, Wang Tao. They pushed her onto the floor; held her hair and spun her around. After torturing her for 2 hours, their accomplice, Wan Guozhi, came into the room. The three of them joined together and tied her up, hanging her in the air by her bound hands. They were screaming and yelling while swinging the rope. This lasted for about an hour. They saw that Guan Yaru was not moved and did not make any noise. They placed the backrest of a chair under her waist. They pushed her head and feet alternately, banging her into the chair so that it squeaked loudly. They only stopped after one of the malicious police said, "Don't damage the chair."

Afterwards, two of the corrupt police stamped on her legs heavily, pulling and stretching her arms out at the same time. They forced a nearly 50 year old woman to spread her legs wide open. After torturing her like this several times, they got tired and went out to have dinner. After their return, they handcuffed Guan Yaru's hands to her back. She was forced to lay down on the floor. They then held one leg down and pulled up on the other until it touched her face. They alternated the position of her legs and tortured her this way for a long period of time. Guan Yaru's legs lost all feeling. They saw that she still did not speak out; they used a plastic bag to cover her head and sealed the bag. They only released her a little when she really could not breathe. They had tortured her about an hour and Guan Yaru still did not say a single word. Wang Tao was so crazed that he squeezed her neck with a newspaper until she fainted away. When she regained her consciousness, she heard that Wang Tao and Wan Guozhi were swearing and accusing her of feigning death. They pulled her arms and dragged her to the side of the urinal pool and pressed her head down. Late at night, the vicious police finally got very tired and stopped the torture. The detention center has a picture of her after she was tortured.

Towards the end of the year 2000, I witnessed more torture when I was illegally detained in the Second Detention Center in Qiqihar City. Some practitioners were forced to wear heavy handcuffs and foot shackles (35 -- 50 kg). The method is to cuff both hands to the back of the body and also chain the feet with the foot shackles. Practitioners are then forced to kneel on the floor and a wire is used to tie both the handcuffs and foot shackles together. One is absolutely immobilized and cannot take food or go to the toilet. Some Dafa practitioners were placed under close surveillance by other inmates. The practitioners were not allowed to close their eyes. They were tortured with a few months of sleep deprivation; even a 70 year-old practitioner named Jia was not spared.

Practitioners were also whipped with the 'little white dragon' (white plastic tubes). It is just like hell there. When the vicious police interrogated practitioners, some did not want to betray other practitioners by giving out their names. They were punished with the torture known as the "big hang." Both hands are handcuffed to the back and a rope is used to tie both handcuffs and foot shackles together to hang them up in the air in the room. Practitioners are then tortured using electric batons or slammed back and forth against the wall. It was unbearable to look at the practitioners after they were interrogated. Every practitioner had a different degree of injury after being tortured. Some of them could not move their hands and legs even after ten days. Some of them could not lift up their arms even after a few months.

All of this inhuman persecution of Dafa practitioners has made both man and the Gods angry!

(Clearwisdom.net) Zhang 'X' in Changchun City, 55 years old, is extremely evil. Because his wife practiced Falun Gong, she became targeted by him for all kinds of inhuman torture. One day, he lost control again and mercilessly beat his wife and tore up her Dafa books. He then dragged his battered wife to the police station. As a direct result of his actions, one day in the afternoon approximately 20 days after coming back, he suddenly felt cold. He died in ten minutes.

Kang 'X' from a village of Jiutai City, said to Dafa practitioners: "I will not rip the banners again when I see them again." Because he tore down the Dafa banners that were hung on a electric wire pole and used them as toilet tissue, several days later, a big sore developed on a certain part of his body. It took over two months for him recover.

Guan 'X', who lived in a certain village of Jiutai City, picked up Dafa truth-clarification materials. He used them as toilet tissue and said: "I am not afraid of retribution." On the second day, Gaun 'X', who never had any diseases, developed dysentery [a major symptom is uncontrollable diarrhea] and lay on the bed. He believed in Dafa from his heart this time.

Zhang 'X', who lived in a certain village of Jiutai City, was hostile to Dafa. When he tore down the Dafa posters, he said: "I am not afraid of retribution." After several days, his appendix suddenly became inflamed. It was very painful. His three sons spent about one thousand Yuan RMB for his stay at a hospital. He also was in extreme pain and discomfort beyond. This is an example how one person makes karma for himself, which brings further disaster to his descendants.

Wang 'X', who lived in a certain village of Jiutai city, collected several dozen Dafa materials and threw them into the toilet and said: "Where does god come from?" Several days later, she suddenly felt severe pains in her lower back and legs. She visited folk medicine doctors and also doctors practicing Chinese medicine and Western medicine, but all were ineffective. Later on, she realized that she had received retribution for her actions against Dafa. She regretted it, so she said that Dafa is good when she met people and she also distributed Dafa materials. She said: "I believe in Dafa. I will also learn it later on." She recovered after one and half months.

A contractor from a village in Shulan County did not distinguish between righteous and evil actions and his intention was not righteous. He collected a lot of Dafa truth-clarification materials and planned to use them as toilet tissue when he worked outside. He was detained at the train station. His family spent 2000 Yuan RBM to pay the fine to get him released.

Li Hua (a party committee secretary at Friendship Store in a city of Northeast China), the trade union president Liu Li, and labor and capital section chief Yu Guiyun persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners who went to Beijing to appeal. They did not pay practitioners' working wages and expelled them from the trade union. Presently, all three of these people have received retribution: Both Li Hua and Liu Li had traffic accidents. Both of them were severely injured. The labor and capital section chief Yu Guiyun was diagnosed with cancer.

Today, 145 people stated that under the intense coercion and terrifying environment of the Chinese government's brainwashing classes, and also because they had an incomplete understanding of the Fa, the evil took advantage of loopholes in their thinking. They now solemnly declare all the words and actions they undertook in the past that do not fit the standard of a Dafa practitioner or to the principles of Dafa as completely void. They will follow the Teacher closely, cultivate resolutely closely and genuinely follow the Fa-rectification process, redouble their efforts to make up the damage they brought to Dafa and be truly qualified Dafa practitioners.

All the evil personnel in the brainwashing class in Jiangan District, Wuhan City of Hubei Province are the employees of the Jiangan District government, Bureau of Civil Administration, Public Security Bureau, Bureau of Judicial Administration, residential district offices, culture and education department, and health department, etc. They forced Falun Dafa practitioners to watch videotapes that slandered Falun Gong and all kinds of materials that criticized Falun Gong. They even didn't let the practitioners sleep. If the practitioners resisted even slightly, they were sent to a detention center or in serious cases sentenced to jail.

The police in Jilin area greatly tightened control over the Internet Cafes and issued a rule that forced all the people going to the Internet Cafes to show ID cards! An owner of an Internet Cafe giving a look said, "The police department asked to check the ID cards of the Internet Cafes users at any time, most of the Internet Cafes just closed their businesses as a way of protest. There is no use to open the business, because there is no customer who will bring their ID cards to the Internet Cafe!"

Falun Dafa practitioner Liu Jianxin from Wuhan City was tortured for going to Beijing to appeal twice. The first time, she went to the appealing bureau in Beijing simply because she wanted to speak out, "Falun Dafa is righteous", but she was arrested. After she was brought back to Wuhan City and her husband was forced to divorce her, she was detained. The second time she went to Beijing, she was arrested when she validated Dafa on Tiananmen Square. In the No.1 Detention Center of Anshan City in Liaoning Province, she was hung up by her handcuffed wrists, the arteries of her wrists and neck were shocked by electric batons and left many burn scars.

The "610" office of Gansu Province cruelly persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners Yuan Jiang and others, these torturous actions brought sudden disaster to the local elementary students. It was just like the story of the people in the village who share the water from the same well, if one person puts poison into the well, all the villagers will die from the poison. On the evening of Christmas day, a scaffold in Tianshui City suddenly collapsed and dropped on to an elementary school building, three elementary students died at the scene.

The police system in Henan Province was recently discovered and charged to have 30,000 suspicious cases [of corruption] and 1,523 problem police. Among them, 21 were detained, 54 arrested, 7 sentenced to prison and 162 punished according to Party rules.

The police enforcers in Henan Province brutally tortured Dafa practitioners and illegally detained them for an extended period of time. They used force to illegally detain and interrogate practitioners to extract confessions. Even now, they are still violating the law, although they are supposed to uphold the law.

Practitioners in Jinan City congratulate the founding of Falun Dafa Association in Finland. Let's be diligent together and actively take on our Fa-rectification mission, make efforts in making our work of truth-clarification and exposing the evil deeper, more thorough, careful and active, and fulfill our sacred vows of assisting Teacher to rectify the Fa.

We hung up a large banner that reads, "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance. Falun Dafa is good" next to a major railroad track that goes to Changchun City so the train will carry our congratulation to the founding of Falun Dafa Day in Changchun to Changchun City. History has indicated that when the authorities have no morals and officials are cruel, it brings disasters to its people. The persecution against Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance led by Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan has brought one calamity after another to the country in the past two years: a rapid increase in the number of HIV carriers in Shanghai, 420,500 people suffering from pneumoconiosis (lung disease caused by inhaling metallic or mineral dust) in China; another attack of Tuberculosis in Guangdong Province, where 5000 people die every year out of 250,000 patients.

On December 25, around 6 p.m., an unusual astronomical phenomenon was observed in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province: the city was bathed in purple red of the sunset clouds. Unusual astronomical phenomenon and unseasonal weather are warnings to people. Government officials in Guangdong Province have committed crimes against Falun Dafa, following Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan. They will definitely have to pay for that.

Wang Kefei went on a hunger strike to protest her treatment at Heizuizi Labor Camp, Changchun, Heilongjiang Province. At times, she was tied to the bed; other times, she was forced to sleep on the cement floor; she was force fed and was dying after she had been held for 25 days. She was sent to the hospital where she died on the same day. The perpetrators are team leader Wang Lihua, section head Liu Hu, associate section head Hou Zhihong, and Lian Yunjuan.

December 27, 2001 Free Asia Broadcasting Station Reported: Quan Huicheng of Dongfang City, Hainan Province was sentenced to three-year in prison by the Chinese government for downloading from the Internet, and distributing over 400 copies of Falun Gong related materials in October of last year.

December 20, 2001 -- December 26, 2001, the Christmas and New Year Day's Fa Group Study was held in Toronto, Eastern Canada. Nearly 200 practitioners from Eastern Canada, Vancouver, Halifax and the US joined this group study and discussion.

Stories of Cultivation

My experience of validating Dafa and eliminating the evil at the detention center: I had been illegally detained for three and half months from August 14 to early December. I did not cooperate with the evil and eliminated the evil with righteous thoughts. I gained better understanding of the Fa. I was able to do what I enlightened to, and broke out of the evil den. I feel deeply the great compassion Master has for me, the disciples, and all sentient beings; I could not express my feeling in human language.

I am 47-years old. I suffered from many illnesses before practicing Falun Gong. After starting cultivation I gained a new lease on life, and all my illnesses have disappeared. Under the persecution in the detention center I cooperated with the arrangements of the vicious force and caused serious damage to Dafa. Since August 2001 I have declared myself to rejoin the Fa rectification cultivation. I was kidnapped again, but I stuck to the righteous thoughts and escaped from danger with wisdom.

AFTER reading your article on Falun Gong (Page 1A, Dec. 23), I realized that as a Falun Gong practitioner in the Bay Area, I need to do a better job in exposing the severity of the persecution of Falun Gong in China.

For more than a year now, I have been going to local colleges and events or simply handing out fliers in front of local markets to let my fellow Americans know that Falun Gong is good, it has made a great impact on my life, and thousands of people are being tortured and even killed for practicing it.

If I did not stand up for them, who would? The persecution of good people cannot be tolerated. If I can be the voice of all the practitioners in China suffering from unspeakable torture for persisting in their beliefs, all my efforts will be worth it.

Many other Bay Area practitioners have also dedicated much time to revealing the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong to people and media in the Bay Area. So why, then, would a more than two-page special report on Falun Gong in the Mercury News not cover the persecution in depth or allocate space for the victims' stories?

Many practitioners from San Jose have been arrested, detained and abused in China; some were simply visiting relatives or vacationing. Where are their stories? I hope the Mercury News will also write an article about the human toll of the persecution.

THE lengthy Mercury News article on Falun Gong did not present an accurate and balanced account of the practice, or the persecution in China.

The current regime in China is engaged in a heart-wrenchingly cruel campaign of terrorism against its own people. The victims are from all walks of life, and they are being persecuted simply because they refuse to give up their peaceful belief and practice of Falun Gong and its principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance.

The [Jiang Zemin Regime] has relentlessly assailed Falun Gong practitioners in an attempt to control their hearts and minds, using the most sinister methods of torture and killing. The world should be wary of China, because as the tragedy of Sept. 11 illustrates, state terrorism can escalate overnight into world terrorism.

Falun Gong is tolerant of others' beliefs, and it does not interfere with prevailing attitudes in society. Its standards are suggested for practitioners because, similar to Buddhism, the individual's ultimate goal is spiritual enlightenment through the eventual abandonment of all attachments.

Things taken out of context are detrimental to the fundamental understanding of any belief system, and can promote hatred and intolerance. As a Falun Gong practitioner who has received innumerable benefits from the practice, including a deeper insight and respect of traditional Chinese culture, I recommend that others read journalist Danny Schechter's book, ''Falun Gong's Challenge to China.''
