[China] Luo Gan's Criminal Group Plans to Arrest Falun Gong Practitioners Nationwide

It is said that Luo Gan's (a Chinese leader infamous for persecuting Falun Gong) criminal group is taking advantage of the fact that America was attacked by terrorists and is currently distracted from human rights issues in China. They plan to arrest Falun Gong practitioners nationwide, and deal with them locally. The 610 office (Government department established specifically to detain and persecute Falun Gong practitioners) is working with the Chinese State Security Department and Ministry of Public Security, in an effort to deploy more police for rounding up as many practitioners as possible. It has been reported that these arrests would include not only those who are partaking in "truth telling" activities, but also those who are not playing as active a role. If they are Falun Gong practitioners, they are subject to incarceration. The police claimed they would "arrest one when they see one."

During these arrests, there are no boundaries or guidelines to follow. They can be made up at any time, anywhere.

[Ningxia Province] Over 20 Dafa practitioners Detained in Baitugangzi Labor Camp Have Been on Hunger Strike Since August 27

In order to resist their illegal detention and persecution, break the evil force's arrangement, and safeguard Dafa, twenty two Dafa practitioners detained in Baitugangzi Labor Camp have gone on hunger strike since August 27, 2001, appealing for their unconditional release.

After the hunger strike campaign started, the labor camp isolated the Dafa practitioners and blocked all means of outside communication. Even their families were not allowed to visit them. We hope that all Dafa practitioners can send forth righteous thoughts, help free them from their unlawful incarceration, and eliminate the evil.

[Beijing] Malicious Police Extort Money from Dafa Practitioners

From a practitioner: "Police kicked me to the ground when I opened a banner on Tiananmen Square on December 1, 2000. They first sent me to the Xicheng Detention Center, then transferred me to the local detention center in my hometown. Officer Li Yanwei from the local police substation extorted 3000 Yuan (The average monthly income of an urban worker is 500 Yuan) from my family in the name of "transportation fees." After this crime, they released me 12 days later because I was diagnosed with the symptoms of hypertension and heart disease.

[News from Shanghai] APEC Meeting Will Be Held Soon; Police Plan Large-scale Action
