(Clearwisdom.net) In the afternoon of February 4^th, 2000 (lunar calendar December 30^th), Liu Xuguo was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment because improper force-feeding had put his life in danger. The doctors did not want to admit him to the hospital because they felt he wouldn't make it.

From February 4^th until February 7^th, the officials of Jining labor camp and the Bureau of Justice reported to the Shandong Province Court, Shandong Province Ministry of Public Security, and to the Supreme Court of the People in Beijing. The answer they received was, "according to the Supreme Court in Beijing, if he cannot be resuscitated, let him die. No one will be held responsible." About 11 AM on February 10^th, the hospital announced that Liu Xuguo had died after resuscitation attempts failed.

Liu Xuguo obtained Falun Dafa in 1994 when Teacher was spreading Dafa in Jinan. He was the chief volunteer assistant of the Zoucheng City Falun Dafa Assistance Center. He cultivated himself solidly and progressed diligently. He established a good Dafa practitioner's image in his work and daily life and he enjoyed a good reputation among practitioners because of his solid understanding of Dafa. Especially after April 25^th, 1999, he thoroughly acted as a veteran practitioner firmly defending Falun Dafa. He had tremendous influence in the area.

When the persecution began after July 20^th, he was illegally detained for 10 days. On October 23^rd, 1999, he and several other practitioners became the first group from their area to go to Beijing to guard Dafa. He was detained in a custodial center for one month after being arrested in Beijing. He was bailed out on November 30^th. Disregarding the danger to himself, he organized many small Fa conferences against huge resistance. He tried to help practitioners to exchange experiences and encouraged more practitioners to stand up to validate Dafa.

At the end of December 1999, the officials of Shandong Province Ministry of Public Security came together with the head of the Jining City Police Department and the Secretary of Zoucheng City Party Committee to have an "informal discussion" with Liu Xuguo and four other practitioners. Liu displayed the compassion, firm righteous thoughts, and great wisdom of a benevolent Falun Dafa practitioner. His wisdom left his opponents with no valid arguments. He also helped a "concerned" practitioner maintain his xinxing [mind nature]. In the end, those vicious people tried to threaten him, "if you keep doing this, you will lose your job. How will your family live? (Note: Liu's father had had a stroke, and could not take care of himself, his mother had never worked, his younger brother is a college student, and Liu had a son, who was just one and a half years old at the time. He was the main provider of his family). Liu Xuguo replied, "as a cultivator, we cultivate according to Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance; I would never lie. Falun Dafa is a righteous way and I will cultivate until the very end. As for my living, I am still young. I can survive even by pulling a rickshaw on the street and support my family." They further threatened him, "You may lose all your freedom." Liu Xuguo replied immediately, "I am ready to face anything." The vicious people asked him, " Do you have anything else to say?" Liu Xuguo replied, "I have cultivated Falun Dafa for so many years. I have the clearest understanding among those present as to what Falun Gong is. It is a great cultivation way of high virtue, which enables human beings to cultivate their hearts toward kindness. I regret that I did not do better in promoting Dafa in the past. I regret that I did not cultivate myself better. But I am determined to cultivate until the very end! I will never do anything disgraceful to Dafa and I will never do anything not worthy of a cultivator!"

On January 29^th, 2000, police took Liu Xuguo from his home. He was sent to the Jining Labor Camp with three other male practitioners. One female practitioner was sent to Jinan City Women's Labor Camp. They became the first Dafa practitioners from Jining to endure illegal labor re-education. On January 30^th, Liu Xuguo and two other practitioners started a hunger strike. But the labor camp officials still forced them to do hard labor on the fourth day of their hunger strike. The head of the labor camp and officer Wang of the Jining City Bureau of Justice tried many times to persuade, tempt, and threaten him to stop the hunger strike. Their attempts were futile and led to nothing. They began to force-feed Liu. Liu Xuguo was not moved by the brutality of the act. He said, "It is not that I am against you personally, nor do I want to be against the labor camp or the Government. I am using my actions to validate the innocence of Falun Dafa and to prove that I am innocent!" He wrote a statement against the brutal treatment and requested to be released with a verdict of "not guilty." Officer Wang of Jining Bureau of Justice replied to him, "Labor Re-education is decided personally by the Secretary of Shandong Province Party Committee Wu Guanzheng. We do not have the authority to give you an answer."

At midday on February 4^th, 2000 (lunar calendar December 30^th), Liu Xuguo's life was in danger because they had pushed the feeding tube into his windpipe during force-feeding. The doctor who conducted the force-feeding has the last name of Xie. Liu was sent to the Affiliated Hospital of Jining Medical College to be resuscitated. When he was admitted to the hospital, the doctor found that he was dying, and blamed them for sending him too late. The doctor did not want to accept him as his patient. When his wife, Man Li (also a Dafa practitioner) reached the hospital that night, she found him so emaciated that his bones were visible. His lips were a bluish color. Seeing his wife, he could only say one sentence using all his strength, "How come you are here? Go home." Immediately police kicked Man Li out of the emergency room. From February 4^th until February 7^th, the officials of Jining Labor Camp and the Bureau of Justice reported to the Shandong Province Court, Shandong Province Ministry of Public Security, and the Supreme Court of the People in Beijing. The answer they received was, "according to the Supreme Court in Beijing, if he cannot be resuscitated, then let him die. No one will be held responsible." About 11 AM on February 10^th, the hospital announced Liu Xuguo had died after failed attempts at resuscitation.

During this period, Jining Labor Camp destroyed all the original records of his force-feeding treatments and of the resuscitation efforts. This was in order to protect themselves in case of a trial. They created a fake file. The hospital declared the cause of death to be "long term abstention from food and water, resulting in organ malfunction." But many witnesses say, "He (Liu Xuguo) was perfectly fine the day before, walking and talking. Who are they trying to deceive? He was killed by force-feeding -- we all witnessed what happened!" The Labor Camp used the falsified records to deceive his family and the world. Dafa practitioner Liu Xuguo has still not been vindicated.

Due to the evil forces becoming desperate, and considering the safety of the witnesses, we have not included their names here.

We learned that Liu Xuguo's wife Man Li was illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor re-education in the Jinan Women's Labor Camp at the beginning of September 2001, after being illegally watched at home for three months. Only her father-in-law, who had a stroke, and her mother-in-law, who now has cancer, and their son, who is now three and a half years old, are left.
