In its Chinese language news program broadcast to Mainland China at midnight on August 24 Paris time, the French International Broadcasting Company reported that French Falun Gong practitioners sat quietly in front of the Chinese Embassy to demand an end to the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. Details are as follows:

Despite the scorching heat from the sun at 2 pm yesterday afternoon (Aug. 24th), over fifty Falun Gong practitioners sat with their legs crossed in lotus position on the sidewalk opposite the Chinese Embassy on George V Street. They were quietly protesting to the Chinese authorities, in their usual peaceful fashion.

The practitioners all held photos and white flowers. The photos were of the Falun Gong practitioners who have died in the persecution over the last two years. To date, there are 267 practitioners confirmed dead, many of whom were viciously tortured to death. The names of all 267 victims were displayed.

The practitioners also handed out flyers to passers-by. The flyers read: "SOS! Urgent: Rescue the persecuted Falun Gong practitioners in China." " Please help stop the persecution. While we freely enjoy our human rights, millions of Falun Gong practitioners in China are deprived of their right to free speech."

The peaceful demonstration went on until 8 pm last evening. The Chinese Embassy kept its doors closed during the entire protest.
