Torrential Rains Cause 29 Deaths in Qinghai Province

Recently, torrential rains in northwestern China have initiated large-scale flooding and mudslides, resulting in many deaths. The Chinese official Xinhua News Agency quoted the "Qinghai Daily," stating that Qinghai Province has recently experienced rare torrential rains. Within the disaster areas, 29 people have died, while 39 were injured. At its peak, the precipitation within half an hour reached five centimeters. The disaster areas include Xining City, east, south and certain northern parts of Qinghai.

The Xinhua News Agency reported that victims have lost their homes and are lacking drinking water. The flood has destroyed over ten thousand trees. Furthermore, communication and traffic flow have been severely affected.
