The First Labor Camp of Gansu Province is located in Pingantai. About 200 Falun Dafa practitioners are illegally detained there. Many guards in the labor camp are very malicious in their treatment of practitioners. They persecute Falun Dafa practitioners physically and mentally, and mistreat the practitioners on a daily basis.

Determined Falun Dafa practitioners who refuse to write the guarantee to give up practicing are fiercely beaten by the guards as they are handcuffed behind their backs and hung up off the ground. Afterwards the practitioners would be thrown into solitary confinement cells for at least 10 days. All practitioners had cuts and bruises on their faces or bodies when they were released from these cells. Practitioner Li, from the woman's group in the labor camp, was even tortured to the extent that the flesh on her chest was ripped open.

Practitioners who went on hunger strikes were treated the most cruelly by the guards they were tied tightly to a bed so that they would not be able to move at all for 5 or 6 days. The guards would not even untie them to use the restroom.

The labor camp assigned at least 2 drug-addicted criminals to monitor each practitioner for 24 hours a day even while the practitioners slept, used the toilet, ate, or labored in the fields. Practitioners were closely monitored even when they lined up or walked. They were forbidden from talking to each other; if they did, they would be sworn at and beaten. The most vicious thing that the guards did was to instigate those drug-addicted criminals to beat, physically punish, or force practitioners to labor without any reason. And the guards would reprimand and punish the drug-addicted criminals if they weren't willing to beat practitioners hard enough.

Without having any excuse, the guards would frequently prohibit practitioners' relatives from visiting. They even denied practitioners the things brought by their relatives.

Practitioners there were not fed well. Lunch was only a 3.5 - 5 ounce steamed bun, and dinner was 3.5 - 5 ounces of soup. All year round, practitioners were given neither vegetables nor water with their meals. As over 30 people lived in a 215 square foot cell with two people sharing one bed, practitioners were not able to sleep well either. There was not even enough space on the floor for everyone to stand at the same time, so when they got up in the morning, they had to take turns washing their face.

We strongly appeal to relevant authorities to immediately stop the persecution of Falun Gong and release all illegally detained practitioners.
