Why are Dafa disciples ruthlessly tortured by the evil? Because they persist in their righteous faith in Dafa, and because they are particles of Dafa. Why did Fa-rectification have to be done? Because the beings in the cosmos no longer met the standard. As a Dafa disciple, your steadfast, righteous thoughts are absolutely unshakable, because your renewed being is formed precisely amidst the Fa-rectification. But in order to achieve everything they've wanted to, the old, evil forces in the cosmos have directly taken part in persecuting Dafa, Dafa disciples, and sentient beings by continuously using the evil arrangements that they contrived and that don't conform to the true Fa-principles of the cosmos, and they have taken advantage of the unremoved notions that are at Dafa disciples' human surface, and Dafa disciples' karma, to make their righteous thoughts falter. As a result, some students haven't been able to endure amidst the agony of the persecution, and have done what a Dafa disciple absolutely should not and cannot do. That is a disgrace to Dafa.
Master wants to save all sentient beings. But the evil forces are truly committing sins against Dafa by using all sentient beings, with the ultimate purpose of destroying them. Once a Dafa disciple has done what he shouldn't do, if he isn't able to truly realize its severity and redeem the losses he has brought to Dafa, everything and that millions upon millions of years' wait will be fulfilled according to the vows made before history. As a Dafa disciple, everything of yours is formed by Dafa and is the most righteous, and it can only be that [you] rectify everything that is not righteous. How could you bow to the evil? How could you promise something to the evil? Even if it doesn't truly come from your heart, it's still giving in to the evil. This is bad conduct for humans, too, and Gods absolutely would not do such a thing. Even if a Dafa cultivator truly casts off his human skin during the persecution, what awaits him is still Consummation. At the same time, no attachment or fear could possibly enable you to reach Consummation. And any attachment of fear is itself a barrier that prevents you from reaching Consummation, and is also a factor in your being "reformed" toward the evil side and in your betrayal.
I can tell you, all of the natural and man-made disasters that have been happening in Mainland China are already warnings for the sins the beings there have committed against Dafa. If they don't come to realize it, then the real catastrophe(s) will begin. All the evil people who have sinned against Dafa, specifically those who are no longer useful in the evil so-called "test" of Dafa disciples, have already begun to meet with retribution for their evil. From now on this will happen on a large scale. Those most evil ones, though, will be used until the very end, because there continue to be Dafa disciples stepping forward, and the evil old forces need to use them to continue to test Dafa disciples. This is why the most wicked evildoers are still rampantly doing evil.
A Dafa disciple completely opposes everything arranged by the evil old forces. Clarify the truth thoroughly, eliminate the evil with righteous thoughts, save all beings, and safeguard the Fa with determination, because you are a part of Dafa, indestructible; rectify all that is not righteous. Those who are "reformed" and those who are being saved can only be beings who were deceived by the evil. Those who are being eliminated are the evil beings and the evil old forces. Those who are reaching Consummation through all this are Dafa disciples; and through all this Dafa's mighty virtue is established.

The 2001 Chicago Experience Sharing Conference started with an outdoor practice in the park across from the hotel. The weather was sunny and temperate as the day before. Approximately 1,000 people attended the conference. The conference highlighted a wide range of cultivation experiences, read by practitioners of all levels, ages and understandings. As each practitioner shared his or her cultivation experience and understanding, the audience was cultivating right along side. After each read their paper the applause was loud and sincere.
Those attending the Conference were fortunate to be able to hear Master's new article "Dafa is Indestructible", which added to the great cultivation experience that was being enjoyed by all. Later during the day some congratulations were read and the one from those practitioners who are validating Dafa in the severe environment of Shandong province moved many people to tears. An aide to a local politician specifically attended the conference to bestow congratulations and say some words in support of Dafa and Master.
At the end of the day, when the conference came to a close, many people spoke highly of how great all the activities and experiences were. Everyone felt that each person benefited significantly which made the conference a great success.

With white flowers, solemn music and a long, slow march to the Chinese consulate at Clark and Erie Streets, about 400 Falun Gong practitioners from the U.S. and Canada on Saturday marked the second anniversary of China's crackdown on the spiritual [group].
"We want to call attention to how horrible the persecution in China is," said Stephen Gregory, a South Shore resident and Falun Gong practitioner who works as an administrator at the University of Chicago. "If people in the United States will speak out, then Chinese behavior will change."
[Coordinators] of the group, in Chicago for a two-day regional conference, accused Chinese government officials of killing seven [group] members last week in China, bringing to 229 the number of known deaths of practitioners in China since the group was outlawed in July 1999.
Another 10,000 may be held in labor camps, mental institutions and jails, Gregory said, echoing estimates from foreign governments and human-rights organizations that have monitored the [group] since it was founded in 1992.
China denies reports of mistreatment, though officials have acknowledged that some adherents have died of disease or committed suicide after being detained. [...]
"We have to expect that for the moment things will only get more violent and more brutal," Gregory said.

The practitioners in Chicago on Saturday, most of whom were born in China and are living in the U.S. as students, legal residents or naturalized citizens, described Falun Gong as a peaceful, inward-looking practice based on truthfulness, compassion and tolerance.
Many of the demonstrators wore yellow T-shirts and carried banners emblazoned with group slogans. They also carried white flowers to signify mourning for those killed or imprisoned.
For more than an hour, practitioners demonstrated their faith by meditating in Federal Plaza in the Loop. The people sat cross-legged in 15 long rows, eyes closed, their bodies still but for slow arm movements that separated positions held for long moments.
"It's a cultivation practice, a spiritual practice," said Warren H. Tai, an executive vice president at the International Bank of Chicago. "We meditate, we get healthier, we try to become better people."

[Minghui Net] Many illegally arrested Dafa practitioners are still imprisoned in detention centers in Beijing. Among them is a female practitioner named "Han Mei" (pseudonym) who is less than 1.50 meter (about 5 feet) in height and who weighs about 70 lbs. I listened to the narration of her tragic suffering while tears kept running down my face. Here is what she had to tell me:
In January 2001, a police car drove to her home to try to take her husband away because he didn't give up cultivating Falun Dafa. She held their one year-old son in her arms while clinging to her husband's leg, trying to stop the policemen from taking him away. The police mercilessly took her husband away disregarding her anguished cries. Several months have passed. No one knows where he is and if he is still alive.
Han Mei left her beloved child with her mother-in-law, and then resolutely went to Beijing with her mother to validate Dafa and clarify the truth about Falun Dafa. One day in April, the police caught her and her mother. Before a police van came, she said loudly to the crowd, " I am a Falun Gong practitioner, and we all strive to be good persons. I came to Beijing just to tell you: Falun Dafa is good, Falun Dafa is a righteous practice, and let you know the truth and offer you a chance to be saved. Since I was young, I have been physically weak and sickly and I was almost abandoned. Falun Dafa saved me and my whole family." Many on-lookers nodded sympathetically and requested the police to let go of this small and weak woman. But the police didn't agree. At that time, "Han Mei" seized some Dafa materials confiscated by the police and threw them to the crowd. At once the masses snatched the materials.
The police van took her and her mother to the Dongxiaokou Police Station. During 48 hours of unlawful interrogation, the police got nothing from them. They locked Han Mei in an iron cage and poured cold water on her, soaking her from head to foot. What is even more intolerable was that a policeman put her in a solitary confinement cell and interrogated her, with the window blocked and the light turned off. She didn't answer any of his questions. The malevolent policeman sexually abused her. As she was too thin and small to resist his scoundrel's act, she knelt down on the ground and pleaded, "Don't treat me like this, you also have a wife and children." But the scoundrel policeman turned a deaf ear to her pleading and inhumanely raped her.
The next day, She and her mother were sent to a detention center in Beijing and are held there indefinitely.
In detention centers, Dafa practitioners are made to sleep on the cement floor and frequently receive beatings from criminals. This is the real situation of China's detention centers that is too horrifying and brutal to be described in words.

Collective Wisdom
Why should Dafa disciples merge into one body in Dafa? Actually, cultivation during the Fa Rectification is quite different from the conventional one. What we do on this side is simply appealing to the authorities, unfurling banners, and revealing the truth. But the evil elements that we eliminate on the other side are beyond our sight. They are in fact the evil essence that we want to eradicate. However, some disciples that cultivate in the human society are not able to differentiate conventional individual cultivation from Dafa cultivation during the Fa Rectification. They are not able to understand what Teacher said in "Rationality": "Getting arrested is not the purpose. Validating Dafa is truly glorious--it is to validate Dafa that you step forward. Since you step forward, you should try to succeed in validating the Fa--this is the real purpose of stepping forward." From Teacher's recent articles we can more clearly see the manifested power when Dafa disciples collectively send forth righteous thoughts to "Eradicate all evil in the Three Realms that damages Dafa." Whether Dafa disciples go to Tiananmen to appeal, or are in jails, or face persecution in other environments; we should not regard the persecution as personal karma elimination or personal tribulation. We should merge ourselves into a whole body and eliminate the evil that damages Dafa with collective energy and wisdom. Any thoughts of personal tribulation may be negative and may be what the demon hopes for in that environment. After seriously examining our own Xinxing, all remaining parts is interference and should be eradicated with determined righteous thoughts. The scenes of the elimination of evil in other dimensions, depicted by some practitioners recently, also testifies to the effectiveness and power manifested when Dafa disciples merge ourselves into a whole body and collectively send forth righteous thoughts to eradicate all evil elements that damage Dafa in any environment.
Eliminating Interference from the Degenerated Matter in Our Mind
As practitioners in Mainland China reveal the evil and tell the truth, they should also actively clean up the interference from the evil and degenerated matter in their own mind. In great difficulties and in the degenerated environment, if we do not look at them from an individual cultivation perspective, but link them with the Fa Rectification, we are actually eradicating the degenerated matter. The more we can shake off the interference from the degenerated matter, the faster we can destroy such evil matter. Otherwise, we may get stalled and become victims of the interference. The purer the mind, the more powerful the righteous thoughts will be.
Then, what is the degenerated matter? As Dafa disciples, should we believe in "the nature of the universe governs everything" (in "A Brief Explanation of Shan") or be swayed by the evil logic that validating Dafa may result in this or that? Should we firmly believe that we are doing the greatest and most righteous thing in the universe, or follow the degenerated rules that our violating the evil regulation may lead to illegal labor terms and sentences? In addition, skepticism, suspicion, and seeking others' opinions are all human behavior but not the Xinxing manifestation of Dafa cultivators. If such impurities are not gotten rid of, a single thought may result in the degenerated matter and impure field, which in turn will interfere with our normal cultivation. Whoever can stop them and correct them will be eliminating the degenerated matter. Our energy field will become more pure and righteous.
The time when the evil becomes most violent is the time Dafa disciples' righteous belief in Dafa is tested. "Since we are collectively eliminating the evil with righteous thoughts, why are the evil still so violent?" Such tests of believing or not believing in Dafa, even in the achievement of Consummation, are actually tests of people's hearts. The reason for not seeing the power of righteous thoughts is also because of interferences from many elements. Dafa disciples cultivating during this period are very great. One of such reason is that we can maintain our Xinxing standard in illusion, clean up the degeneration in our mind, and eliminate all evil in other dimensions that damages Dafa. When exposing the evil and telling the truth, we are eradicating such evils and undertaking the greatest enterprise that benefits all sentient beings in the universe. That is how Teacher is utilizing the great Dafa of the universe to forge us, the real protectors of the future universe. Dafa is creating everything for our Dafa disciples' future.
Controlling Ourselves with Righteous Thoughts
We are able to be true great Dafa disciples established by Dafa because we are more and more able to participate in the Fa Rectification with the wisdom and ability bestowed by Dafa. Maintaining righteous thoughts with a pure and clean mindset is important because it determines whether we can elevate ourselves into an enlightened being's realm; and look at what is occurring, and guide all our actions from there with wisdom. In the course of a living being turning into a god, and especially in the course of "The Fa rectifies the Cosmos " evolving into the current stage, the matter of believing or not believing in Dafa is manifested by whether righteous belief and righteous thoughts can be produced when tribulations occur. To put aside life and death is still a cultivator's perception. Only when a cultivator abandons the concept of life and death can he/she become an enlightened being. "Dafa disciple" has become a standard name for gods at different levels of the universe who are bestowed with wisdom and mighty power by Dafa. In my opinion, a "Dafa disciple" established by Dafa is already a particle of Dafa and a great being forged by Dafa. He is indeed completely melted into Dafa. Believing or not believing in Dafa is also manifested in another aspect: whether to believe in our own power established during Dafa cultivation. Such a belief is the righteous belief that determines whether Dafa disciples can walk out of illusion, walk out of tribulations, truly get rid of interferences from degenerated human thoughts; and better participate in the Fa rectifying the cosmos, and truly control ourselves with righteous thoughts.
Such belief of being able to gradually "control ourselves" with a righteous mind is the wisdom produced after melting into Dafa, assimilating into Dafa, and getting rid of interferences from degenerated thoughts. It is about whether or not to believe that, during the accelerating Fa rectifying the cosmos, you are able to eradicate interferences and damages from all evil elements; and your righteous thoughts can restrain and eliminate the evil in the course of "Validating the Fa with reason, clarifying the truth with wisdom, spreading the Fa and offering people salvation with benevolence" ("Rationality"). Such is the manifestation of disciplining ourselves with a righteous mind, a righteous belief and a higher standard at all times. Such is the confidence of triumphantly arriving with Dafa truth under the footsteps. There are no irrational elements or unreasonably magnified attachments of our own. Such is the wisdom and the ability included by the mighty wisdom bestowed by Dafa.
The evil still exists and actively functions because many Dafa disciples still need to achieve the realm and mindset of an enlightened being. Use your righteous thoughts to rectify everything in your dimensional field and better guide you to validate Dafa and protect Dafa; and to eliminate all evils that damage Dafa. Such is to perfectly harmonize Dafa. What is an enlightened being who comes with the truth and the power to do what he wants? Could he lack confidence in Dafa? Could he be taken aback by the evil? Could he worry about not being able to achieve consummation? Is the evil qualified to test him?

Story One
A practitioner in China often posted truth-clarifying literature in high-traffic areas such as the entrances to busy workplaces. She posted them at times of the day when many people would pass by, ensuring that a large number of people would have the chance to read them. She kept a peaceful and fearless mind while doing this.
On the evening of June 16, she found an ideal doorway to post her flyers containing the true facts of the persecution against Falun Dafa. The area was very well lit, though, and she thought that it would be better if the lights were off when she was posting materials. As a result of her thoughts when she reached the front door, all of the lights went off. After she finished posting, the lights went on again.
She went to another place to post materials the next day. A woman and a man passed by while she was posting flyers. The woman pointed at her and said accusingly, "She is the one who posts the materials about Falun Gong." The practitioner looked at them peacefully without any fear at all and the two quickly went away. She continued to post materials.
Story Two
An elderly female practitioner went out one day to post truth-clarifying literature. After a while, she realized that someone was following her. She was a little frightened to begin with, feeling that she could not evade him. She then suddenly remembered Teacher Li's words and started to send forth a righteous thoughts, "Freeze there! Don't move!" She looked back at the man following her and saw that he was standing there, not moving. Then she continued on with her posting.
The next day she went about posting materials in another location, and she discovered that several people were following her. This time she sent forth righteous thoughts immediately, "All of you freeze there! Don't move!" As a result, those people stopped at once and did not follow her again. She completed all the postings smoothly.
Story Three
One day when a practitioner was going to go out from his home, he saw that dark clouds covered the sky in the direction he was going. He sent forth the following thought immediately, "Eliminate that evil with all of my power!" He continued sending forth his righteous thoughts while driving in the car and also recited Teacher Li's verse in his mind repeatedly, "The Fa rectifies the cosmos, the Evil is completely eliminated." After a while, the dark clouds disappeared and there was sunshine again.
While he was on the road, a police car suddenly pulled in front of him. The practitioner sent forth a righteous thought without a hesitation, "Stop there and turn around!" After he finished his words, this police car stopped immediately. It made a U-turn and drove off in the other direction immediately. Even the practitioner himself was surprised because he did not realize that a single righteous thought was so powerful.

[Minghui Net] Li Shuhua, a female Dafa practitioner, was an employee of the Jiamusi Linen Factory in Heilongjiang Province. She went to Beijing to defend the Fa in July and October of 2000, and was arrested on both occasions. During her detention, she went on a hunger strike, with perseverance, and was force-fed many times. She was released later because she was near death.
After that, Wang Zhancai, the Party Secretary of the Jiamusi Linen Factory, collaborated with the Public Security Bureau, Yonghong Branch, to trick Li Shuhua into the detention center and keep her there. Li Shuhua went on a hunger strike again. The prison guard inhumanely put her in huge shackles that weighed 40 kilograms (approx. 80 lbs), and handcuffed her hands behind her back. In addition, they brutally force-fed her every day for 16 days. Finally, because she was extremely weak, Li Shuhua was released, near death.
Guo Weishan, a vicious policeman from the Yonghong Branch, tried to find ways to persecute Li many times. On one day in April 2001, Guo broke into and ransacked Li's home illegally and tried to take her away.
On the evening of May 21, 2001, Li and another practitioner were illegally detained by the Factory's security when clarifying the truth to the people in the factory district. Wang Zhancai, the Party Secretary, collaborated with the Yonghong Branch and sentenced Li Shuhua to one year in a labor camp.
Li Shuhua went on a hunger strike again at the labor camp. She had been brutally force-fed many times with her hands and feet tied to the bed. Blood came out of her mouth. Because they were not able to get the food into her mouth, they have been using an IV to keep her alive. Li is on the verge of death. We call for attention and help from all kind-hearted people!
Under the guidance of Wang Zhancai, the Party Secretary of the Linen Factory, the Factory's Security Department has been vicious in persecuting Dafa and its practitioners. In May 2001, as instructed by Wang, the Linen Factory broadcast defamatory articles against Dafa over the loudspeakers many days in a row.

[Minghui Net] The Kaiping (Number 1) Labor Camp in Tangshan, Hebei Province is a patch of evil land where hundreds of practitioners are being detained and tortured. They have not stopped even after two practitioners, Zhu Yourong and Zhang Zhibin, were tortured to death. Among these evil people, the most vicious include Wang Xueli, Wang Jianzhong, Wei Qun (female), Li Qiang, Zhang Jianzhong, Yan Hongli (female) and Liu Liying (female). In addition, guard supervisors routinely instruct inmates to beat up Dafa practitioners.
Many practitioners detained at the labor camp have gone through a great deal of torture for practicing the exercises or studying the Fa. Kang Shuxiang from Langfang was tied to a bed in her underwear for a whole night in the cold winter. Dafa practitioners have been frequently hung up on trees, in some cases, for over 10 hours. There are also people who have been beaten, forced to stand still for a long time, hung up or electric-shocked for reciting scriptures. These practitioners are using their lives to safeguard Dafa.
Around January 10, 2001, Dafa practitioners recited Teacher's article "Beyond the Limits of Forbearance" and called out loudly "Restore the reputation of our Teacher," "Restore the reputation of Dafa," and "Unconditionally release all Dafa practitioners" everyday. On January 13, the head of the Ministry of the Judiciary and Bureau Chief for the Bureau of Re-education through Labor Camps inspected the camp and saw what was going on. On January 16, the camp deployed more than 40 male police officers and over 20 female officers to torture Dafa practitioners. They beat, hung up and electric-shocked practitioners. On that day, between 70 and 80 practitioners were hung on the trees. Wang Xueli, a male supervisor, shocked Qin Lina from Tangshan with an electric baton for practicing the exercises. Although he was one of the most vicious guards, Wang was scared when Qin passed out. However, another supervisor standing next to him said heartlessly, "If she dies, you can just say she died of a heart attack. I will be your witness." What a brutal, wicked scene!
Eventually, Qin was taken to a hospital for emergency treatment, but even now it is still difficult for her to sit down. Hao Jianling was hung from a tree, just because she had requested to talk with a supervisor. Later, a few other practitioners were interrogated and tortured for stepping forward to speak out a few words of justice for her. The guards shocked Hao Jianling with three electric batons at the same time, causing her to scream nonstop with pain. Her entire face swelled up and turned black, and the room smelled like burnt human flesh. Li Wei was beaten by over a dozen male guards so severely that she was rolling on the floor in pain. These perpetrators also used electric batons to shock her entire body, but she did not make one bit of sound. In the end, she calmly said to these guards, "What good is it when more than a dozen young fellows beat up a woman of more than 50 years old!" On that day, Fu Weiping was also among the people who were beaten. Her lips swelled up from the electric shocks.
Mid-January was the time when the Tangshan Labor Camp tortured Falun Gong practitioners most viciously. On January 16, Zhang Yuqing and others who had been on a hunger strike for more than 10 days were forced to stand on the snow-covered ground for one day and one night. Qin Lina, Hao Jianling and Li Wei were beaten viciously. Wounds covered their bodies, and the faces of some were disfigured. To cover up their criminal acts, the guards locked up these practitioners in separate cells and forbade them from contacting other practitioners.
We solemnly warn those guards who have been torturing practitioners in the Hebei Number 1 Labor Camp: Your criminal acts are being recorded, and you must stop immediately! Otherwise, no matter how far you run away, you won't be able to escape retribution. Also, to all Dafa practitioners who have read this article: please send forth righteous thoughts to eradicate the evils within the Three Realms, and at the same time, let those vicious people who led others to damage Dafa receive the retribution they justly deserve.
[Minghui Net] In order to suffocate the evil, to validate and safeguard Dafa [great law and principles], I started off on my way to Beijing for the third time. As I did not have a penny in my pocket, I decided to walk to Beijing. The following are some of my experiences on the way to Beijing this time.
On the morning of the first day I felt vigorous. But in the afternoon I felt thirsty and hungry and my legs became heavier. I endured these things and moved forward, step-by- step. By evening I could not move any more. I felt too shy to "beg for a meal." Then I happened to see a house that had its door open. I walked there and asked for some water to drink. Then I gathered my courage and asked, "Do you have some food left? If you have, could you give me some? If not, that is okay." The couple was really kind. The wife said, "Give him a bowl of grain." The husband gave me a full bowl of rice and side dishes. I had a chat with them while eating. I clarified the truth and spread Dafa to them. I thanked them after I finished the meal and went on my way. It was very dark outside. I walked some distances and saw a house on the roadside. I cleaned a place at the corner outside the house and planned to sleep there. I wanted to practice the exercises before going to sleep. When I was holding the law wheel (the 2nd set of Falun Gong exercises, "Falun Standing Stance"), a person came by and discovered that I was a Falun Gong practitioner. He hailed a motorcycle driver to take me to the local police station. I took the chance to spread Dafa to him. At the police station I refused to tell them my name and address. I tried to escape once, but was caught and beaten up. I thought since I could not escape I had better take it easy. I clarified the truth and spread Dafa to them and in the meantime. I was able to clear the "fear" in my thoughts and all the other impure ideas. Along with clarifying the truth and spreading Dafa, I felt changes had taken place in their hearts. After learning that I held a bachelor's degree, they changed greatly in their hearts. Their attitudes became gradually better and they treated me less severely. After taking a simple interrogation statement from me, they released me on the second night.
For the following several days I experienced suffering in my legs and feet. At first, the ligaments behind my knees were very sore. I felt the tearing pain when I put more force on my knees. Then a friction blister appeared on my left foot from the rubbing of the shoe. When I was close to Jingmen City of Hubei Province, I got another blister on my right foot. I tried to walk on the heels. I picked up something to eat from the ground when I was hungry and I slept in the woods when I was sleepy. I was usually up 1 or 2 times a night due to the cold. After I passed Jingmen City, my feet were very painful. I endured all this and walked 3 to 4 hours before I sat down and took a rest in the woods along the road. As part of the blisters matured, I took the time to study the Fa and practice the exercises while resting. After a half-day's rest, the next day I felt more aches in both of my feet. I knew I should not rest any more. I started to walk slowly on my heels. After I walked several miles, the ache was relieved. But when I rested, I felt the wounds were swelling as if they would burst. When I walked again, I ached very badly in the beginning. But after several miles, the ache would be relieved. Without me noticing, the ligaments behind the knees were much better. But later I felt very sore in the tendons of my feet. I experienced a tearing pain whenever I used a little force. I found it was swelling and the tendon area was red. I just ignored it and continued to walk with forbearance. Slowly and gradually, the tendon was okay. The blisters in my feet were healed 11 or 12 days later. Then I got a bigger blister on my left foot and a blister on the big toe of my left foot. They were recovered half a month later.
One day when I was walking and putting my left foot forward, I suddenly felt the sciatic nerve on my left side was affected and I felt a tearing pain in the muscles. I could not walk. I had to pull my waist to move my hip and the whole left leg forward. After I walked a short distance, the right side had the same problem. At that time, there was only the word "walk," in my head. I breathed heavily and walked, waddling like a penguin. After less than 10 steps, the right side recovered. Then a short distance later, the left side recovered too. This time, I was enlightened, "When it's difficult to endure, you can endure it. When it's impossible to do, you can do it."
Sometimes when I was really tired, I asked for a lift. Some kind-hearted drivers gave me a lift. When I arrived in Yicheng City of Hubei Province, it was raining and I happened to pick up a disposable rain coat I knew that our Teacher is always taking care of disciples. I continued walking in the rain. A small bus drove by and the kind-hearted owner gave me a lift to Xiangfan City Bus Station. I took the initiative to clean the bus. During the conversation with the female conductor I told her that I was a Falun Gong practitioner and I was heading for Beijing. The lady understood me and said, "I wish you success."
On the way from Xiangfan City to Dengzhou City, an old lonely man asked me the way to Nanyang City; I told him and gave him a sesame seed cake I had begged. He gave me back half of the cake and we walked together for a while.
I checked the map in a newspaper pavilion when I passed Xuchang City, and found out that the next stop on my way to Beijing was Changgeng, a small city, and then cities of Zhengzhou, Xinxiang, Anyang, Handan, Xingtai, Shijiazhuan, Baoding, Zhuozhou and Beijing. When I got a lift on a small bus near Zhengzhou, I helped to clean the bus when it arrived the station. The bus owner gave me a bag of steamed bread and we had a chat while I was eating. I told them I was not allowed to go to work because of practicing Falun Gong and the work unit harassed me from day to day. The question came up: What harm are we Falun Gong practitioners committing when we are try to be good persons in all environments we encounter? They expressed that they look down upon what Jiang Zemin does to Falun Gong. I told them some true stories about Falun Gong. They kindly warned me that it was dangerous in Zhengzhou. I thanked them and went on my journey.
I encountered a little trouble when I crossed the Yellow River Bridge, as pedestrians are not allowed to walk on the bridge. A tricycle came by and I asked the driver to give me a ride, assuming he would give me a ride for free, but he asked for money later. As I had no money to give him he did not let me go at first. I explained a lot of things to him and finally he let me go.
On the way from Xingtai to Shijiazhuang, I got a lift on a tractor. I was very sleepy while standing on it. I could hardly hold on to the tractor and several times I almost fell off. I realized that this was the interference of demons and I should get rid of it. So I strengthened my main consciousness. I forced myself to open my eyes wide, and held on to the tractor tightly with my hands. After quite a while, I was back to normal.
In Shijiazhuang I picked up a lot of food to eat, including a nearly full box of rice. I remembered the story that Master has told us about the begging bowls of disciples of Sakyamuni's time. Just like the disciples of Sakyamuni did then, now I began to save food in case I could not find food later. I knew it was an attachment but it was so hard to give up. I saw 10 Yuan on the ground when I just passed Zhuozhou. I hesitatingly picked it up, but I put it back when I thought that as a Dafa disciple I should follow strict requirements.
The police blocked the bus I took when passing Wangdu. They wanted to search for Falun Gong practitioners. I was not scared at all though I had brought a Dafa book with me. I didn't even think about the possibility that they would get on the bus to search, and they did not. I could not get a ride from Baoding to Beijing. I thought I was meant to walk by myself.
During those days, I felt the scorching hot sun even before 8am everyday. I felt I was sitting beside a fire when I was walking on the road. Sometimes there was a dazzling, shiny long way with only some short trees on both sides and there was no shade to hide from and no wind. I could not drink much water at one time because it would very soon turn into sweat. I had to sip water every once in a while. I really had the feeling that Master wrote about in "Climbing Mount Tai, "With a determined heart, lift the feet with legs weighing thousands of pounds; forbearing suffering, striving forward, and discarding attachments" (unofficial translation of Master Li's poem).
I picked up three pieces of a Beijing map on which I found all the locations I needed. I also picked up a permit to enter Beijing. On its back was the map of the suburbs of Beijing. They were all very useful to me. I realized that Master was helping me with all of this.
On May 24, the 2nd day of the fourth month of the lunar calendar, I walked determinedly into Tiananmen Square. I wrote down on the square my heart-felt wishes: "Falun Dafa Is Good!" with the spring water I brought from the mountain.
In the police wagon, I suffered different kinds of tortures, especially the twisting of my ears and nose and slapping. At the Tiananmen police station, I faced their threats and beatings with my righteous thoughts and refused to tell them my name and address. I met two other fellow practitioners in the iron cage. They told me that they and another 8 practitioners, who were just sent out had been beaten up and fed poison. The skin where the poison touched had festered. A policeman who was called the "director" did not beat us. Instead, he often raised up his thumb to Dafa practitioners when there was nobody else around. We three recited " Lun Yu,"[the forward of Zhuan Falun] meditated, practiced the exercises and eliminated the evil. At night, the police released us all. "...Do not endure passively and face the evil people with righteous thoughts at all times."('Dafa Disciples' Righteous Thoughts are Powerful') It was with these righteous thoughts that I broke through this barrier unconsciously.
[Minghui Net] To clarify the true facts regarding the persecution of Falun Dafa, fifteen practitioners from Langzhong went to appeal in Beijing in January 2000. They were intercepted by the police and staff from the Langzhong representative office in Beijing. All of these practitioners were subsequently sent back and detained for two weeks in criminal detention. Jiang Zemin's followers in the local municipal government, along with police, demanded that every practitioner's family pay 5,000 Yuan to 20,000 Yuan (The aveerage yearly income ranges from 2,000 to 6,000 Chinese Yuan depending on the area) to bail out the practitioner while waiting for the sentence. The police forced those families that did not have enough money to pay for the bail to obtain a loan. Within less than six months of bailing out all practitioners, the police confiscated all the bails/bonds by fabricating charges against practitioners one after another. In June of 2000, practitioner Peng Shuzhen contacted the city council about a reporter Chen Yong's false and slanderous report on Falun Gong, and asked the city council to clarify the fact. For this, Peng was arrested. Her husband Song Lihan asked the police to release his wife, but instead got arrested and detained. During an illegal search of the practitioner's house, the police Hu Tianjiong, Wangqi, He Guanghua and others took away all the cash and deposit certificates. The vicious police then forced the bank to approve them to withdraw 10,000 cash from the family's account. When he refused to sign his name on the receipt, Song Lihan was brutally beaten by police Liu Menghua. In October 2000, practitioners Zhao Xueying and Zhao Yingfang were illegally arrested and detained for two weeks. At same time, their families were forced to hand in "fines" ranging from 5,000 Yuan to 10,000 Yuan. Practitioners' houses were also illegally searched. In December 2000, practitioners Zhao Xueying, Ran Huande, Ren Yuqing, Liu Xingyu and Peng Shuzhen went to Beijing to appeal. They were arrested, sent back to their hometown and detained by the local police. The police demanded that each practitioner pay 5,000 Yuan as a fine. Those who paid the fine were not sentenced to a term in the labor camp. Those who didn't were all sent to a labor camp.
In January 2001, the police once again secretly and illegally arrested more than 20 practitioners. Using the excuse of holding brainwashing classes, the police forced every practitioner's work unit to pay 1,000 Yuan as "tuition". The work unit took this amount of money out from the practitioner's salary. On the second day of practitioner Li Yufang's arrest, the police asked her family to hand in 4,000 Yuan as bail. After practitioner Li was set free from the detention center, her work unit was forced to pay 1,000 Yuan in "tuition". Among those who were arrested, some of them had already stopped practicing Falun Gong, but they were sent to the detention center anyway and forced to pay 1,000 Yuan each in "tuition" in exchange for freedom. Practitioners Da Jianying and Du Zimin were clerks in the City Council and City Government. They were arrested and sentenced to one year in a labor camp. Both of them were forced to hand in 1,000 Yuan "tuition". The police even took 2,000 Yuan in cash from Du Zimin's salary from January through May to pay the bail of last year.
Policeman Hu Tianjiong said, "What we want precisely is to cut off your financial income so that you have no money for food and die from it!" Under police's vicious threats and brutal mistreatments, many practitioners' families were broken down. Some have nothing to live on after their monthly income of a little over 100 Yuan was taken away.
The above facts are evidence of those vicious people who abused the power and extorted money from people by any possible means. They are nothing more than a bunch of shameless robbers without any conscience.

On June 13 at about 11 A.M., an elderly gentleman about 70-years-old walked out from the Chinese Consulate at Sydney. He went directly to the stand holding truth clarifying material and left quickly. When a Dafa practitioner went over, he discovered that the gentleman had left an envelop with the words "Letter Conveying Respect" written on it. When two Dafa practitioners gathered up some materials and the money to catch up to the gentleman, he had already disappeared. One of them said that he got a clear look at the gentleman, and will return the money if he sees him again.

[Minghui Net] According to Xinhua News Agency Changsha report on June 19th, starting from the evening of June 18th unit today, a torrential rainstorm descended upon part of Hunan Province for the second time. Cities and districts including Shaoyang, Huaihua, Yueyang and Changde suffered especially heavily from it. It is reported, since the beginning of June, the torrential rainstorms have already resulted in a total affected population of over 10 million, up to six flooded cities and towns, and there were several dozen deaths reported.
No let-up appears in sight. The Hunan provincial meteorological observatory forecast that heavy rainfall is expected to continue for three to five days within the province. In their June 19th release, Zhongxin News Agency Nanchang reports: lately, Jiangxi Province has been visited by an unremitting deluge, some areas in the south part of the province suffered inundation. This heavy downpour has resulted in mountain landslides in some parts of the province. Farmlands in some towns and counties were drowned in the flood, transportation and water conservatory facilities were destroyed, and a number of houses collapsed.

[Minghui Net] According to the Central News Agency Beijing report on June 19th, before dawn, some areas in Shanghai encountered the first tornado of the year, resulting in one injury and a total loss of approx. 560,000 Yuan [about 65,882 dollars]
The tornado moved rapidly through the areas including Lixin village of Zhaotun town. 125 families and two enterprises in 11 villages suffered losses from the storm. Crops and houses were damaged, more than 240 greenhouses collapsed, and one person was injured.
On the afternoon of the day before, Chongming Island was attacked by fierce gale winds and thunderstorms, as a result, nine houses collapsed. Having entered the rainy season only three days, the total loss caused by the natural disasters has already exceeded one million Yuan [approx. 117,647 dollars]

[Minghui Net] Recently, cities throughout Hunan Province have filed frequent emergency reports. At first, cities such as Shaoyang, Huaihua, Yueyang and Changde were the victims of a severe torrential rainstorm, later on part of Sangzhi county in Zhangjiangjie City had to battle with a fierce gale and hailstorm, and today, Boxun Net posted two news items in a row, reporting Suining county and Ningxiang county were visited by a sweeping deluge, which caused mountain torrents.
It is also reported that the most affected regions in Suining county are villages and towns such as Hekou village, Fengmutang, Wawu and Wuyang, etc. Overall this heavy torrential downpour resulted in a total of 280,000 people who were affected, among them more than 100 people were missing, and more than 2,400 collapsed houses throughout the county. In addition, a group of mine companies and factories, crops, and livestock also experienced serious losses.
According to today's Central News Agency report, nine towns, 203 villages, and a total of 210,000 people in Ningxiang county were hit by the natural disaster. Four towns including Donghutang, Huaminglou, Daolin and Datunying on the banks of Le River were transformed into marshes. 645 people in Datunying village were trapped. The total affected cropland area in the whole county was approx. 70,000 mu [around 11,531 acres], among which 9,000 mu produced no crops. 808 dams were destroyed, and 452 houses collapsed. The highway connecting Daolin district to XiangtanCity was cut off by the flood, and 40 bridges were destroyed. In Daolin town, the most affected town, more than 32,000 mu of cropland suffered serious loss, 40 residential houses collapsed, more than 20 km (around 12.5 miles) of levee was torn down by the flood, more than 30 km of highway was devastated, and 15 bridges collapsed.
To make things even worse, a shocking accident took place yesterday morning in Lianxiping Elementary School in Tianyuan district, Zhuzhou City, in which a brick wall collapsed. By the time the ambulance arrived, among the students who were buried under the debris, four had already stopped breathing, three were seriously injured, and two were slightly wounded. They were immediately rushed to Zhuzhou City Chinese Medicine Traumatology Hospital for emergency treatment. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

[Minghui Net] The temperature in Beijing has hovered around 37 degree Celsius since May. The sun is scorching and the rivers are dry.
It has been reported from Beijing's Flood and Drought Prevention Command Center that water supply in Miyun Reservoir in Beijing was only 1.347 billion cubic meters at 8am on June 2, 2001. However the annual water consumption in Beijing is of the order of 4 billion cubic meters. For the first half of this year, the precipitation has been scanty. If it is still dry in the second half, Beijing, having just had two consecutive years of drought, will face a grave situation of severe water shortage.
Year 1999 was an extraordinarily dry year in Beijing's history. The normal precipitation of 516 milli-meters was reduced by half. The maximum daily precipitation was the lowest since 1949, the year when the People's Republic was inaugurated. It had been very hot through the entire summer without a single decent rainfall. The total water supply from all 16 reservoirs in Beijing was reduced by 423 million cubic meters, and the rivers had hardly any flow to speak of.
Year 2000 was also unusually dry. First, during the spring there were frequent sandstorms. All through the summer, the mercury soared. The number of days with high temperatures and the degree of the extreme heat all broke records since records were kept in 1915. The average precipitation from January to September in 2000 was reduced by one-third. Persistent drought led to the reduction of water storage in reservoirs and the cessation of flow in the rivers and underground. Crops were severely affected, as was the water supply for man and animal consummation.
The critical water shortage seems unavoidable this year if the drought continues. From data collected on-site, Miyun reservoir and the underground water have largely been exhausted .
It is commonly known that this water shortage crisis in Beijing began on July 20, 1999 when Jiang Zemin, the "Human Rights Scoundrel" so dubbed by Amnesty International, publicly denounced and started the crackdown on Falun Gong. The persecution of Falun Gong has now entered its third year as is the water shortage crisis in Beijing, and the situation is getting worse.
"When people do not have virtue, natural calamities and man-made disasters will abound. (When the Fa Is Right)" The evil scoundrels in the Chinese government and their accomplices have used the most despicable and evil means to persecute Falun Gong. Clearheaded people can see that heavenly principles are finding poetic expression; good and evil will get what each justly deserves.
In more than two years, not withstanding Jiang Zemin's ferocity and unbridled attacks, his campaign has failed to make much of a dent on Falun Gong. To add a veneer of legality to their shift into draconian overdrive, Jiang and Luo labeled Falun Gong an "organized reactionary political force." At the same time, they coerced the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procurator to enact a swathe of new regulations to criminalize those who impart the truth about Falun Gong. Those who produce and distribute Falun Gong materials could be charged with "subversion." Those supplying information about the suppression to foreign organizations could be charged as spies with "endangering national securities."
The security department and the political institutes that are under the direct control of Jiang Zemin are even more brutal and lawless. Their motto: "vilify them politically, ruin them financially, and exterminate them physically." "Beat them to death and record it as suicide," then "cremate immediately to conceal their identities." Ten practitioners were tortured to death during the last month alone. There are many other heinous cases too numerous to mention.
People who are unaware of the reality used to say, "The Beijing police are relatively civilized." This is how "civilized" they are!
The Beijing police severely beat and raped a female Falun Gong practitioner right on the street who was posting truth clarifying information about Falun Gong. Another female practitioner was arrested by the Yangqiao Police Station while distributing similar materials. After beating her for several hours, the police officer then forced an electric baton into her vagina. The director of a Qianmen Police Station openly raped a female practitioner. A female practitioner who was once detained in the Qinghe Detention Center said that some young policemen there did not have any human nature left in their hearts. They often brutally kicked the genitals of female practitioners. The male prosecutor often threatened to throw the female practitioners into the male prisoners' cells if they refused to disclose their names and addresses. Some vicious policemen stripped female practitioners naked to force them to divulge their identities.
Falun Gong has been brutally persecuted for more than two years. A horrendous crime has been committed. Heavenly laws prohibit this. The drought is just the beginning of retribution.
Everybody, please don't make the mistake to think that the persecution of Falun Gong has no pertinence to you. When the evil is rampant, it is cruel to be indifferent to the trampled innocent, turning a blind eye to the criminality is tacit connivance.
For the still good-natured people, please be advised: better to follow the will of Heaven than the desires of mere mortals; be good ordinary citizens rather than vicious ranking officials.
Please refrain from further hostilities towards Falun Gong, be it cold stares, bad words or deeds. Otherwise it may be too late to regret when apocalyptic retribution should descend.
[Minghui Net] According to a report from the Civil Administration Bureau in Shandong Province, five cities and 12 counties in that province were recently struck by a severe hail storm, which affected 810, 000 people and caused direct economic losses of more than one billion Yuan RMB.
It was reported that from the evening of Thursday, June 14, to the middle of the following day, heavy hail accompanied by violent wind suddenly fell in Jinan, Taian, Dezhou, Binzhou and Linyi. The twelve counties that suffered most in these areas are Changqing, Daiyue, Xiajin, Wucheng, Qihe, Yucheng, Pingyuan, Linyi, Bincheng, Boxing and Feixian.
The statistics available so far indicate that 810, 000 people have been affected by this disaster and 130, 000 have suffered greatly . About 133, 000 hectares of crops were affected: 73, 000 hectares were severely damaged, while 33, 000 will yield nothing. Two hundred and twenty-six houses collapsed and 40, 300 houses were damaged by the storm. More than 15, 000 trees were uprooted or broken and 35,000 vegetable sheds were completely destroyed.
It is also known that Shandong is one of the provinces which most severely persecutes Falun Gong. The officials in all areas of the province followed Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan closely and carried out their most vicious secret instructions, leading directly to many deaths. Among those killed were the kind-hearted village woman, Chen Zixiu; a young engineer, Su Gang; a righteous old man, Liu Yufeng; and an agricultural officer named Qi Fengqin. The authorities themselves have committed shocking crimes and their brutality is beyond human imagination.
However, it is the course of nature that retribution will come for evil deeds. The actions of those wicked people have brought about natural disasters that human power cannot combat.

Tung Chee-hwa's description of the Falun Gong as an [Chinese government's slanderous term omitted] reflected the Government's position rather than simply his own opinion, a human rights spokesman said yesterday.
The director of the Human Rights Monitor, Law Yuk-kai, speaking after a forum in Jordan to discuss anti-xx laws and religious freedom, said: "Mr Tung is the Chief Executive. It's hard to tell people that what he said was only his own opinion or definition. Mr Tung's remarks are usually taken as the Government's stance."
The Chief Executive launched his attack in Legco on June 15, saying: "No doubt, the Falun Gong is an [Chinese government's slanderous term omitted]." [...]
Last week, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Donald Tsang Yam-kuen, speaking at the Foreign Correspondents' Club, said that in a free society like Hong Kong, it was natural for people to have different views of what a cult was and that Mr Tung was expressing his own definition.
Nine Christian groups yesterday jointly made a statement opposing any moves to introduce an anti-xx law expressing their dissatisfaction at Mr Tung's remark. They have also launched a signature campaign to object to any possible legislation.
The executive secretary of the Justice and Peace Commission of the Hong Kong Catholic Diocese, Mary Yuen Mee-yin, said although Mr Tsang had said Mr Tung was using his personal definition, she found it inappropriate for the Chief Executive to have made the remark in the first place.
"We don't have a definition on what is an [Chinese government's slanderous term omitted] in Hong Kong," she said. "It was inappropriate for Mr Tung to make such a hasty remark since he did not provide concrete evidence to support his remark."
Speakers at the forum said there was no need for an anti-xx law in Hong Kong, although Falun Gong is banned on the mainland.
Mr Law said the Government would not be able to handle the Falun Gong even with an anti-xx law because it was difficult to define an [Chinese government's slanderous term omitted].
Mr Tung said during the June 15 Legco question and answer session it was not time for an anti-xx law. Mr Tsang has since said the Government would not be enacting a law against the group.
