Hongfa in Northern Ireland

December 19, 2001 |   By an Irish practitioner

On December 15, 2001, seven practitioners took a train from Dublin to Belfast in order to introduce Falun Dafa to the people there. After a two-hour ride, we arrived in Belfast.

We set up our posters and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" banner in the busy downtown area. The peaceful Dafa music and exercises attracted many passers-by. Group practice, distributing material, and answering questions all went well.

Although we encountered much interference, we kept sending forth righteous thoughts and continued our Hongfa activities. We gave out about 3 thousand Dafa materials. In the evening, we got on the train back to Dublin. On the train, we met a couple from Hong Kong, and a couple from Malaysia. We talked to them about the persecution of Falun Gong in China and gave them some materials and a VCD to take home.

We also discussed the whole day's activity and looked within ourselves for improvement. Northern Ireland belongs to Britain, but geographically it is part of Ireland. We Irish practitioners have been there several times. We still haven't spent enough time on Hongfa activities there. We found our attachment of thinking in terms of our "local region" to be a kind of selfishness. We always think about Ireland, and seldom think about Northern Ireland. Dafa belongs to the whole world and shall have no boundaries. We should not allow our human notions to interfere. We decided to go to Northern Ireland more often and let people there also have a chance to know about Falun Dafa.
