Han Fengwei, the deputy Mayor of Tianmen City in Hubei Province, was in charge of public security and judicial departments. He has been actively involved in persecuting Falun Gong since July 20th, 1999. However, he received retribution and was sentenced to a 17-year imprisonment. He was found guilty for accepting bribes. The money he embezzled and received as bribes were all confiscated.

In March 2001, Han Fengwei went to Fengtai District of Beijing City to arrest Falun Gong practitioners. He was utterly devoid of conscience and sold three female practitioners (who were about 20 years old) to a hotel in Baoding City, Hebei Province as "Waitresses" (i.e., sex slaves). The practitioners suffered mentally and physically. When Han returned to Tianmen City, he reported that the three practitioners were missing. He told the family members of the three practitioners that he could not find them. In order to find the practitioners, their family members used their own money to look for them. The family members suffered significant economic losses, as well as mental pressures. The three practitioners were not rescued until Han's crimes were exposed in the end of August.

In July 2001, the police department underwent massive measures in persecuting Falun Gong. Han and his police arrested about 470 practitioners all at once. In order to arrest a practitioner in Yuekou Town, Han and his policemen surrounded the practitioner's house for two days. Later on, Han arrested the practitioner's 80-year-old mother-in-law, forced her to hand in the practitioner, and also imposed a fine of 500 Yuan. About 60 practitioners had to leave their homes and wander about to avoid the police.

In August 2001, Han ran into his second girlfriend when he was with another girlfriend in the Huaqiao Hotel of Tianmen City. That caused a fight between the two girlfriends in the hotel. A reporter from the Chutiandushi Newspaper witnessed the fight. The reporter publicized Han's immoral deeds and this validated Han's corruption problem. According to official news, the money embezzled and bribes received during Han's term as deputy mayor totaled over 4 million Yuan, including about 400,000 Yuan extorted from Falun Gong practitioners.

A "safe haven" does not exist for harboring the evil. Eventually, evil deeds are exposed and are simultaneously met with karmic retribution. In September 2001, Han Fengwei was sentenced to a 17-year imprisonment. He is now undergoing labor re-education at the No. 4 branch of the Shayang Labor Camp. Those who persecute Falun Gong practitioners are all beasts in human clothing like him.

We hope that all officials will learn a serious lesson from Han's case.
