Time

After becoming a practitioner, I realized that "Time" within the Three Realms is in fact a deity within the Three Realms. It controls numerous events within the Three Realms, including the rising and setting of the Sun.

I had two totally different experiences of Time during my cultivation. Once, there were a couple of things that I needed to take care of before meeting a friend. I thought I had ample time and went along feeling relaxed while taking care of them. To my surprise, I was late meeting my friend. On another occasion, when unexpected events took place and suddenly resulted in an increase in my workload for that day, feeling short of time made me squeeze every bit of time to get those things done. Everything was accomplished well and on time, and I felt time had been stretched.

A deity in the Three Realms is a sentient being within the Three Realms. Even though the physical body of a Dafa practitioner still exists within the Three Realms, the true level and realm of a practitioner are already beyond the Three Realms. Then, should we practitioners control Time, or should It control us? "Cherish the present time and make the best use of it--this time is meant for the disciples." (Lecture on the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Conference) "This period of time will not last long, but it can forge the mighty virtue of magnificent Enlightened Beings, Buddhas, Daos, and Gods of different levels, and even Lords of different levels. It can also destroy overnight a cultivator who has reached a really high level but who has become less strict with himself. Disciples, be diligent." (Fa-Rectification Period Dafa Disciples)

Thoughts of getting rid of weeds

Farming requires getting rid of weeds. The roots of weeds must be dug up to prevent the weeds from interfering with the growth of regular crops.

Ever since I started sending forth righteous thoughts I have encountered interference from warped perceptions and fatigue. Although I tried to get rid of "fatigue" with my righteous thoughts, it seemed to reappear, as though I could not fundamentally get rid of it. "Fatigue" appeared again today when I was sending forth righteous thoughts. I eradicated it from its roots this time, which was the attachment of seeking comfort. So my righteous thoughts eradicated both of them, and the interference disappeared quickly.

The remaining attachments, karma, warped notions and thoughts of each practitioner are all part of the harmful things. When we are covering up our attachments to save our own reputations, when we are seeking comfort and are unwilling to endure "pain" incurred when we get rid of an attachment and change our warped notions, we in fact are acknowledging, protecting, and passively treating those harmful things attached to our bodies. When conflicts arise among fellow practitioners, if we don't search within but just blame each other, those unscrupulous things will exploit our weaknesses. Teacher said in Zhuan Falun, "Those evil beings are also something negative, and they all are black. Thus, they can come because this environment suits them." ("The Issue of Curing Diseases," page 291.) These harmful things provide a nourishing environment for the survival of evil forces, consistently interfering with practitioners.

We must proactively seize each and every thought and idea, measure them with Dafa, seek from within, dig deep down to reach their roots and eradicate them altogether. Only then can we cure the apparent and root cause behind them. "...remove cultivators' fundamental attachments so as to free cultivators from the shackles of humanness and karma." ("Coercion Cannot Change People's Hearts") In this way we can rapidly complete the transformation from a human to a divine being.

Follow a natural course and strive forward diligently

We should follow a natural course during our cultivation, yet we must also strive to advance diligently. My understanding of following a natural course is to resolutely follow the cultivation path arranged by Teacher. "Strive to advance diligently" means that while studying the Fa thoroughly, we also proactively accomplish what a Dafa disciple should do.

Maintain righteous thoughts at all times

Our cultivated side should constantly control our thinking, and we should never give evil the least opportunity to exploit us. Because I maintain such high mental alertness at all times, my mind constantly recalls the verse to eliminate the evil that Teacher bestowed on us, "The Fa rectifies the Cosmos, the Evil is completely eliminated." Sometimes, I wake up in the middle of the night, and my first thought is "The Fa rectifies the Cosmos, the Evil is completely eliminated."

Project a practitioner's energy field to rectify everything abnormal

Today, people have degenerated significantly. They utter coarse language the moment they open their mouths, and they don't realize that they are bullying others. When I read about "the Energy Field" (Zhuan Falun), I realized that the various warped notions and thoughts of people today are manifestations of lives deviating from Dafa in this universe. This is not a proper state. Teacher said, "...within your energy-covering field others will benefit..." "...this field can rectify all abnormal conditions." "Therefore, in the past there was this saying in Buddhism: 'The Buddha-light illuminates everywhere and rectifies all abnormalities.' This is what it means." I often said to myself, "purify my thoughts, and let my energy field project energy as far as possible to strengthen other peoples' righteous thoughts, rectify everything abnormal, let sentient beings quickly wake up and learn the truth about Falun Gong." Even though some people will not obtain the Fa, at least we can reduce the chance that they will commit further sins. Isn't this a manifestation of Compassion as well as offering people salvation?
