Xinsheng.net: With Chinese Spring Festival Approaching, Mainland China Launches Another Round of Arrests of Practitioners

January 22, 2001 |

"Latest News of Falun Gong in Mainland China" on January 19, Xinsheng.net reported:

With Chinese Spring Festival approaching, the XX party launched another round of mass arrests of Falun Gong practitioners in Beijing, Guangzhou and northeastern China. In a residential area of northeastern China alone, the arrested practitioners filled two buses. This barbaric and illegal behavior aroused great indignation among local residents. In Beijing, the police visited every household requesting the residents to fill out a form on which each and every one of them has to promise three things---no appealing, no going to Tiananmen Square, no group practicing outside. This really offended people. The police said, over one year's suppression did not decrease the number of Falun Gong practitioners at all. They had no way but to ask every one to make the promise.

The XX party is revealing to the world that it's losing the support of its people and it's in a last ditch effort to resuscitate the failing campaign against Falun Gong practitioners.
