On the 26th and 27th of October, the "Falun Dafa Club" at UCLA held a two-day photo exhibition. It was entitled "The Truth of the persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in China" .
Around noon, there were many students rushing along Bruin Walk. One of us was handing out flyers while another talked to students who seemed interested our display boards. They were just chatting and eating lunch. We hoped that they would sign the letters to the presidential candidates to urge the future president to be supportive of the human rights of Falun Dafa practitioners in Mainland China. Many students were aware of Jiang Zemin's suppression of Falun Gong through the media, so after our simple explanation most of them were willing to add their signature to the letter immediately. We were able to collect a good number of signatures in a short time.
A female student looked at the pictures showing the persecution of Falun Dafa. She came over to our booth and glanced at the materials on the table. She asked, "Is this for signing." I replied, "Yes, it is." She said: "I want to sign it." Obviously, her compassionate heart was deeply touched by the pictures.
When we were packing up the display boards a male student told us: "We have already signed the letter and sent it out." It turned out that when another practitioner asked for a signature, he said he needed to read the letter first, before he signed it. . We expressed our gratitude to him.
We sent out the signatures that we gathered during the two-day exhibition through express mail to the two presidential candidates.
It is worthwhile to mention that the four large pictures of the exhibition were obtained at the San Francisco Conference, therefore they are very precious. After we returned to Los Angeles, we laminated them immediately. We will be exhibiting the photos in various locations in Los Angeles. The various campuses, shopping malls and libraries are all ideal locations.
