Beijing, December 31

Around 5pm this afternoon, I met three fellow practitioners from Tsing-Tao City at the Beijing Train Station. According to them, six practitioners from Tsing-Tao had arrived in Beijing successfully a few days ago, while the other seven were intercepted at the Tsing-Tao Train Station. On the early morning of December 26, the six practitioners practiced Falun Gong exercises on the Tian-An-Men Square. While they were practicing the second round of the first exercise, uniformed and plainclothes police officers noticed them. The police then came over and stopped them. On December 29, another four practitioners from Tsing-Tao arrived. There were also eight practitioners from Zhao-Yuan City who arrived in Beijing. They plan to express their opinions peacefully at the beginning of the new millennium.

Chang-Chun City, December 30

On the morning of December 27, an experience-sharing conference was held in Chang-Chun. Although only seven practitioners were able to attend the conference, it was very encouraging. Practitioners are determined to try their best to recover the environment for practicing cultivation of Falun Dafa.

Xin-Jiang Province, December 29

As soon as the Chinese communist regime defamed Falun Dafa as an "evil religion", some practitioners from Wu-Su County hit the road to Beijing to appeal. But they were intercepted on their way. Some other practitioners were able to make it to Beijing and they have already been escorted back by police. They include Li Hou-Zhuang, Chen Hui-Fang, Liang Yu-Ying, Wang Shao-Feng, Liu Hong-Yuan. They are now being detained together with another 30 practitioners from the same county. The police would release them as long as they promised to give up Falun Gong, otherwise, they would be detained indefinitely. Wang Shao-Feng and Liu Hong-Yuan have been detained for two months up to now. A former contact person of Falun Gong, Cui Xiu-Lan, was on hunger strike for five days, and she was transferred to a labor camp directly. Another contact person, Tan Lu, and a practitioner have also been sent to labor camp. It was said that Li Hou-Zhuang and Chen Hui-Fang (who are now in police custody) would "be arrested immediately" under the accusation of "association across provinces and cities", and would be sentenced heavily.

Guang-Dong, December 31

Two practitioners from Nan-Hai and a local practitioner were arrested at the home of the later on December 30. Their family members are not allowed to visit them.

January 1, 2000. At the turn of the new millennium, many practitioners, including some from Japan, gathered together in front of national flag on Tian-an-men Square. In the beginning, they wanted to practice Falun Gong exercises together. But some practitioners suggested that they should hold the first experience-sharing conference of the new millennium as it was so difficult for practitioners to get together. The experience-sharing conference started in Chao-Yang District, Beijing City, at 3am, January 1, 2000. A total of 22 practitioners attended the conference. They came from Beijing, Shan-Xi, Shan-Dong, Guang-Xi, Liao-Ning, Xi-An, Si-Chuan, Jiang-Xi, Shanghai, Hebei, and Japan. After the conference, they decided to go to Tian-an-men square to welcome the first morning of the new millennium.

January 1, 2000. Since the 1999 Guang-Zhou Experience Sharing Conference, many Falun Dafa practitioners went to Beijing to appeal one after another. According to practitioners from Wu-Han City, Hu-Bei Province, many practitioners from Hu-Bei went to Beijing. Around mid-December, 17 practitioners from Han-Chuan area and 7 practitioners from Dong-Xi-Hu district were escorted back from Beijing. Some practitioners in Wu-Chang district have been practicing Falun Gong exercises in the early morning in public areas for one week.

A soldier in army continued to practice Falun Gong after it was banned by the Chinese communist regime. He also went to Beijing to defend Falun Gong. Because of this, some of his supervisors were penalized. According to this practitioner, he decided to go to Beijing to appeal when he was forced by the army authorities to watch the TV propaganda about some former contact people of Falun Gong Research Society. Instead of being brainwashed by the TV propaganda, he was moved by what he saw about these contact people. So he decided to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa.

A student from Wu-Han Police School went to Beijing to appeal. After he was released from detention, he continues to practice Falun Dafa. Now, he has gone to Beijing again to appeal.

Houston Practitioners Appealed Peacefully at Chinese Consulate

On December 29 and 30, some practitioners from Texas gathered in front of the Chinese Consulate in Houston to protest Chinese communist regime's unfair trial of four former Falun Gong Contact People in Beijing, and to urge the Chinese government to stop its prosecutions against Falun Gong practitioners and released all the practitioners in custody. Journalists from local TV stations, Word Daily, and South America News came to report the event. Two practitioners attempted to deliver an appealing letter to the Consulate but the staff members refused to open the door. Nonetheless, practitioners were able to express their opinions to an official from the consulate.
