Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liang Xiu, 39, lived in Huangjiatun Village, Songlindian Town, Zuozhou City, Hebei Province. She went to Beijing to clarify the truth in 2000, and was illegally arrested by policemen from the Songlindian Town 610 Office Liaison Office in Beijing. Ms. Liang was tortured after being sent back to the Town Government Compound, and her family was extorted out of five thousand yuan. Ms. Liang was arrested again on the night of July 1, 2003, detained for 15 days in the Zhuozhou City Detention Center, forced to go through brainwashing in the Nanma Class for three months, and extorted out of another 6,500 yuan. Under financial, mental and physical tortures, Ms. Liang became sick, and she died on March 27, 2006.
