Case Description:
Sixty-nine-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Shucai was from Liangzhai Village, Kaifeng County in Henan Province. Mr. Yang was arrested on the morning of March 6, 2009, by personnel from the Liudian Police Station and 610 Office of Kaifeng County. He was taken to the Kaifeng County Detention Center, as were a few other local practitioners who were arrested on the same day. Mr. Yang was illegally detained for seven months. He was then sentenced to four years in prison and sent to the Xinmi County Prison in Zhengzhou. Mr. Yang's physical condition worsened while he was there, and he was released for medical treatment on September 29, 2010, and passed away 12 days later.b Related articles:
