Case Description:
Ms. Li Sufen, 58, lived in Moyunshan Village, Qianshan District, Anshan City, Liaoning Province. She suffered from many illnesses, but all of them were healed after she began Falun Gong practice. In 1999, Jiang's political faction started persecuting Falun Gong. In May 2000, to speak up for Falun Gong by citing her own experience of having benefited from practicing, she went to Beijing to peacefully appeal. On the way there she was arrested and taken back to the Moyunshan Police Station, where the policemen violently beat her. Later she was sent to Anshan City's Detention Center and was incarcerated there for two weeks. After she returned home, she continued her steadfast Falun Gong practice. Her husband feared repercussions from the authorities, so in order to prevent her from studying the Fa or practicing the exercises, he burnt her book Zhuan Falun. Seeing this, she suffered a sudden stroke. Since then her health and mental state steadily deteriorated. She passed away on October 1, 2004.
