Case Description:
Mr. Li Changru was 52 years old, and lived in Baotun Village, Taihe Town, Heishan County, Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. He started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997 because he was suffering from many illnesses. He gradually recovered from all his illnesses after practicing Falun Dafa. After July 20, 1999, Jiang and his regime started persecuting Falun Gong. Li Changru went to Beijing in October 1999 to appeal for Falun Dafa, and was arrested. He was retuned to his home district and held at the Heishan County Detention Center. One month later, he was transferred to the Taihe Town Police Substation to begin brainwashing, where he was threatened, and then released on bail after his family was extorted of approximately 7,000 yuan. After returning home, the village administration often came to his home to harass, threaten, question, ransack, or simply monitor him. Mr. Li Changru was deeply traumatized, both mentally and physically, over the past several years of the persecution. He died on January 27, 2005.
