Case Description:
Ms. Jia Xiumei, about fifty years old, was a relative of a staff member at the Shandong Water Polytechnic, which was originally located in Qufu City, but moved to Rizhao City. She used to have many diseases that medication was never able to cure. After she started to practice Falun Gong, all of her diseases were cured. Therefore, she constantly participated in group practice and promoted Falun Gong. After Jiang Zeming started to persecute Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, the Police station in Qufu City and the members of Chinese Communist Party committee at the Shandong Water Polytechnic put a lot of pressure on her. Her husband, Hou Yin (Home phone: 86-537-4425397), was extremely scared. He locked her up at home and did not allow her to have contact with anybody. He blamed, beat, and monitored her constantly. He prohibited her from practicing Falun Gong at home. Unfortunately, her old diseases came back and she died in October 2001.
