Yuemingshan labor camp in Anshan City
Case Description:
Ms. Tong Sukun, forty-nine years old, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Anshan City, Liaoning Province. She used to make clothing on the 4th floor of the People's Market. After she started practicing Falun Gong in 1996, her health problems improved tremendously. After July 20 1999, she went twice to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. Each time the Beijing police arrested her. They illegally detained her in the Yuemingshan labor camp in Anshan City. While in detention the policemen in the camp tied her up with ropes and shocked her with electric batons, seriously damaging her health. She quickly deteriorated and died in July 2001.
