Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Ding Xuesen from Jiamusi in Heilongjiang Province was arrested on June 23, 2008. He was detained in Jiamusi Railroad Detention Center for more than a month. On July 28, 2008, he was transferred to Suihua Forced Labor Camp in Heilongjiang Province for a one year prison term. The next day, a family member, not knowing what had happened, called the National Security Section of Jiamusi Railroad Police Division, and explicitly asked to talk with the section chief Wang Fengjun. Wang picked up the phone, but lied about his identity: "There is no person named Wang Fengjun here. Wang Fengjun was transferred to other place."
The details of this case are as follows:
On June 23, 2008, Ding Xuesen went to Jiamusi Railroad Police Division on some personal business. At that time, Chen Wanyu and other police officers were having a meeting to secretly discuss persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Ding Xuesen was questioned by the police and later he was detained there. Then at 9:00 p.m. that night, he was sent to Jiamusi Railroad Detention Center. During his detention, he was slapped in the face by police officers and suffered other torture as well.
The police officers of Jiamusi Railroad Police Division interrogated Ding Xuesen many times. Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officers at the provincial level also interrogated Ding Xuesen at the detention center. He became very skinny due to torture. On July 18, 2008, the police decided to imprison Ding Xuesen at a forced labor camp for one year.
Ding Xuesen's mother has tried to talk to those at Jiamusi Railroad Police Division on her son's behalf many times, but police officer Yang Ronghua, who participated in persecuting Ding and handled his case, yelled at and slandered Ding's mother. Section chief Wang Fenjun and other police officers printed out a report on Ding Xuesen's persecution published by Clearwisdom, showed the report to Ding's mother, and attempted to use it to threaten and intimidate her.
