Mr. Zhang Xingcai Is Imprisoned in Forced Labor Camp Again in September 2007

In September 2007, Mr. Zhang Xingcai, 58 years old, a resident of Yanji City Development Zone in Jilin Province, was sentenced to Forced Labor Camp again by the police.

In October 2000, because he approached various government departments to clarify the truth about Falun Gong, Yanji City National Security Team sentenced her two years of forced labor. During those two years, he was tortured numerous times in Yanbian and Jiutai labor camps. He was forced to undergo numerous brainwashing sessions. He was released and allowed to go home towards the end of 2002.

Yanbian and Jiutai labor camps resorted to various inhumane torture methods to reform practitioners. One of the torture methods used was to wake the practitioners up as early as 4:30 a.m. and make them sit on plastic backless stools for up to 15 hours a day. The practitioners had to sit upright and straight, at a 90-degree angle, with both hands placed in front of the knees and eyes staring straight at the blackboard in front. This prolonged sitting caused some of the practitioners' buttocks to become inflamed and eventually infected. Their oozing wounds would stick to their clothing, causing them extreme pain and itchiness. The suffering was unbearable. They were not allowed to move or turn their heads while sitting. They were not allowed to utter a word. Young or old, healthy or sick, failure to comply would be met with severe punishment such as kicks and punches. This routine was carried out everyday, as if in a military camp, and the torture rituals would last several hours everyday.

After Zhang Xingcai's release from the camp in 2002, the neighborhood administration office and 610 Office personnel regarded him as a key surveillance target. Also, at the approach of every sensitive date, these two government entities would harass him.

On the morning of November 1, 2006, officers from Jiangong Police Station in Yanji City colluded with the police from Shengli Police Station in Dunhua City to illegally enter Zhang Xingcai's house and fraudulently place him under house arrest. They also ransacked his home and confiscated his family's belongings. Mr. Zhang was "illegally detained" in Dunhua Detention Center for 15 days before being released.

On September 13, 2007, around 8:30 a.m., five policemen from Yanji City suddenly broke into Zhang Xingcai's home and seized him. On September 30, Yanji City Police Department hurriedly illegally sentenced Mr. Zhang and three other practitioners to the notorious Yinmahe Labor Camp in Jiutai and Heizhizhi Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province. Zhang Xingcai was given a one-and-a-half-year sentence.

Recently, Jiutai Forced Labor Camp in Jilin Province intensified the severity of its tactics in dealing with practitioners that refuse to give up their belief. When Zhang Xingcai refused to renounce his belief and "transform," the camp guard used the prolong sitting torture from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.. Mr. Zhang has also been starved. His everyday rations consisted of only two tiny steamed black buns that hardly filled his stomach. Zhang Xingcai can now hardly even walk.

Wangqing practitioner Li Wenzhi from Yanbian is also being brutally treated in Jiutai Forced Labor Camp for refusing to renounce Falun Gong. When he resorted to a hunger strike to protest the inhumane persecution, this was met with daily force-feeding with half-cooked corn flour mixed with salt. The forced feeding continued for at least another month after he gave up fasting. Mr. Li's once healthy body is now reduced to a mere shadow of his former self.
