Recent events have revealed that Mr. Cong Rixu, a Falun Gong practitioner in Dalian City, was transferred from Dalian Detention Center to Nanguanling Prison in Dalian City on November 3, 2009. His family learned that Mr. Cong was not given enough food and became emaciated. Despite these hardships, he has kept himself in good spirits.
On June 16, 2009, the court in Kanjingzi District, Dalian City held a trial for Cong Rixu. With the aid of Mr. Cong's defense lawyers, Mr. Han Zhiguang from Beijing and Mr Wang Yonghang from Dalian City, the court did not announce a judgment. Communist Party officials arrested lawyer Mr. Wang Yonghang after the trial and Mr. Cong was later sentenced to three years in prison even though neither his family nor his lawyers were informed.

Cong Rixu graduated from the Journalism Department of Liaoning Province Engineering Technology University in July 2005. Prior to his arrest, he worked as the assistant for the University President in Dalian City Wendu Graduate Preparation Institute.
On January 13, 2009, he and his wife were followed by two plainclothes police officers while they were putting up posters to clarify the facts about Falun Gong. They were taken to Ganjingzi District Police Precinct and held in Dalian City Detention Center that night. Mr. Cong was "tried" by the District Procuratorate and sentenced to a three-year prison term.
On November 3 after being detained for 10 months, he was transferred to the 3rd Ward of Nanguanling Prison, Dalian City. He was tortured by Ganjingzi District Police Precinct to obtain a forced confession. Mr. Cong said, "On March 2, 2009, four policemen took me out of the cell for interrogation. They tried to photograph me and take my fingerprints, but I refused to cooperate. A team leader with (I think) the last name of Zou, kicked my back, struck me several times, slammed my head against the wall four to five times, and kicked me until I fell down. Then he kicked my body, head, chest, and back over and over. My nose and mouth bled profusely. My forehead and the back of my head were swollen, and my lower lip was split. After that, they held me up and took my fingerprints against my will." The four policemen were Zhao Jiajiang, Jin Zhong, Miao Jian, and the team leader with the last name of Zou.
Mr. Cong Rixu is currently being held in Nanguanling Prison and continues to protest the persecution by refusing to participate in forced labor.
According to an interview on June 16, 2009, with Tian Lu, the wife of Mr. Cong (who is now outside China), Lawyer Wang Yonghang defended Cong Rixun out of sympathy and understanding for his case and entered a not-guilty plea. This annoyed the local communist government, and he was taken secretly to the Dalian City Detention Center. On November 27, 2009, Lawyer Wang was illegally sentenced to a seven-year prison term.
Lawyer Wang Yonghang's case has been submitted to the United Nations for review.

Two Daughters Arrested Again after Calling for Justice for their Father
Around 7:00 p.m. on March 2, 2010, two daughters of Falun Gong practitioner, Mr. Jiang Xiqing, were arrested again because they went to the Chongqing City 610 Office and the Jiangjin District 610 Office and called for justice to be served.
On March 2, 2010, Ms. Jiang Hong, the older daughter of Mr. Jiang, and Ms. Jiang Ping, the third daughter, filed a wrongful death lawsuit at the1st Middle Court of Chongqing City.
After filing the lawsuit, they said goodbye to their attorneys at Jiangbei Airport. They then realized that they had been followed by the police. The officers, after being discovered, offered them a free ride back to Jiangjin District. They refused the offer and instead took a bus to Caiyuanba Station where they would take another bus to Jiangjin District. They were arrested right after they stepped off of the bus.
On March 3, the family demanded they be freed in front of the District CCP Political and Judiciary Committee and Jiangjin District Police Precinct. The authorities denied their request at first, then Wan Fenghua, the secretary of the District CCP Political and Judiciary Committee, said, "They will be free if they write a statement promising they will not hire an attorney; otherwise, they will be 'educated' for more than ten days."
When Ms. Zhang Xiaoyue, daughter of Ms. Jianghong, appealed alone for the release of her mother for a second time in front of the District CCP Political and Judiciary Committee, Wan Fenghua threatened her, saying, "We will arrest you if you come again."
Ms. Jiang Li, the fourth daughter, lives in Shanghai, and her attorney called the committee and the police precinct. The attorney received mixed messages; some denied they would release the women. Some replied that they would be freed if they guaranteed to not hire any attorneys.
Mr. Jiang from Jiangjin District, Chongqin died at Xishanping Forced Labor Camp on January 28, 2009. Since then, his family has been seeking to establish the cause of his death and dealing with constant interference from the authorities. The police arrested Ms. Jiang Hong on August 28, 2009.
Ms. Jiang Hong and Ms. Jiang Ping are still imprisoned.
