    Fuxin City Falun Gong pactitioner Mr. Yang Guiquan was illegally detained in Xindi Detention Center, where he died on July 5, 2009. His back and head had bruises, and there were scars on his legs. Mr. Yang's inner thighs showed scars from electric shocks.

    Mr. Yang Guiquan

    Mr. Yang Guiquan was 45 years old. He was born on January 2, 1964, and lived in Room 604, Building 1 in Meihai Neighborhood of Beixin Village in Xihe District, Fuxin City. He worked at Rongxing Plastics Limited in Fuxin City. At around 6:00 p.m. on June 20, 2009, he was clarifying the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong in a Fuxin City shopping mall when he was arrested by Wu Zhongqi and others from the political security section of Haizhou District Police Precinct. He was taken to Xindi Detention Center. Mr. Yang's family members and employer went to the political security section multiple times to request his release, but they were unsuccessful.

    During his illegal detention, Mr. Yang held a hunger strike to protest the persecution, but the guards brutally force-fed him. On July 5, 2009, he was in critical condition. He was first taken to the Police Department Hospital for treatment, then returned to the detention center. After several hours, he was taken to the General Hospital of Mining Corporation. Doctors at the general hospital said that Mr. Yang was not breathing and had no heartbeat when he arrived. They announced that he had died before arriving at the hospital.

    Mr. Yang Guiquan died at around 3:00 p.m. on July 5, 2009. The police notified the family members at around 8:00 p.m. that day.
