Another law abiding citizen suffers arbitrary arrest and property confiscation.

Police Blocked Road for an Illegal Trial

On December 23, 2008, a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) court conducted an illegal trial of Guo Daoyou, a Falun Gong practitioner from Funing County, Hebei Province. Because the court officials didn't dare hold an open trial, about thirty police officers blocked the street on both sides, and stationed guards from about 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Passersby weren't allowed to pass by.

Mr. Guo Daoyou, 51, is a Falun Gong practitioner who worked in the fiber plant in Yuguan Township, Funing County. After he started cultivation, he achieved good health both spiritually and physically. After the CCP began persecuting Falun Gong, Mr. Guo started exposing the evil deeds committed by the CCP against practitioners, and clarify the truth about Falun Gong.

On the afternoon of July 18, 2008, a group of people broke into Guo Daoyou's home without any legal documents or procedures. The people included Chen Xingguo, head of the Yuguan Police Station, Wang Baoyi, the CCP secretary of the police station, Li Haifeng and Chen Jingli, heads of the Funing County National Security Police and some officers from the Yuguan Township Government. They ransacked Mr. Guo's home and confiscated his computer, printer, Dafa books, his welding tools and pliers, wrenches and other personal belongings. They even took his child's pens, exercise books, three straw mattresses, and bags and boxes of his daughter's clothes. After they ransacked his home, the police arrested Guo Daoyou and took him to the Funing County Detention Center, where he is currently detained.

During the trial, Guo Daoyou's family members were not allowed to make a statement (a normal procedure). When his family members wanted to speak, the court officials stopped them and took Guo Daoyou away by force.

Mr. Ge Zhishun Taken into Custody in Wucheng County, Shandong Province

Mr. Ge Zhishun, 57, is a Falun Gong practitioner who lives in the Town of Xiaolizhuang, Wucheng County, Shandong Province. On December 18, 2008, he was illegally arrested by the police in Wucheng County. He is now imprisoned in the county detention center.

On the morning of December 16, Wucheng County officers partnered with six officers from the local police station and broke into Mr. Ge Zhishun's home. Without any explanation, they ransacked his house and confiscated his belongings. They ordered Mr. Ge to the local station to explain his Falun Gong practice, but he refused to do so. On the morning of December 18, five or six police officers came to his home. Again without any explanation, they abducted him by force to the county police department.

After arresting Mr. Ge, the police went to Ge's younger brother's home, where they illegally rummaged through his brother's chests and cupboards. They finally left when they didn't find any evidence.

Before practicing Falun Gong, Mr. Ge suffered from many health conditions. In particular, he had been treated for a long time for a severely damaged lumbar vertebral disc. Even climbing stairs was a great challenge for him. But after practicing Falun Gong, the problem resolved itself, and he was able to run a hardware business to support his family. He carries quality articles at reasonable prices and puts forth every effort to be a good person. The villagers always praised him. However, he is persecuted by CCP due to following the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.
