Ms. Wang Shuxia, 45 years old, died after just 48 hours in Shenyang City Prison. The prison said she died of a stoke, but her family saw many injuries when allowed to view her body after death.

Ms. Wang Shuxia Tortured to Death While in Custody in Liaoning Province

Ms. Wang Shuxia, 45, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Diaobingshan City, Liaoning Province. She made her living by managing a booth at a market. In January 2001, she appealed for Falun Gong, and was arrested and detained by officers from the Diaobingshan City Police Department. She was subjected to inhuman tortures in the detention center. Guard Jin Pengfei (male) whipped her many times with a triangular belt, shocked her with electric batons, and shackled her. The physical and mental tortures caused her to become mentally disordered, and she was soon released.

In 2002, she was arrested again when she was reportedly practicing the exercises outside. She was taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for a three-year term. The inhuman tortures she endured made her mental disorder become worse. Instead of releasing her, the labor camp administration locked her in solitary confinement for long periods of time with both of her hands tied up high above her. No one was allowed to contact her. She was released in 2005.

In November 2007, she played a Falun Gong truth clarification video at a booth she was operating. Officers from Hongfang Police Station and the City Police Department arrested her, ransacked her home, and took away her TV set, DVD player, and Falun Gong books.

On January 15, 2008, the Diaobingshan City Court held a secret trial, and sentenced her to three years in prison. On May 3, 2008, they took her to the Shenyang City Prison. On May 5, 2008, the prison guard called her family and said she had died from a stroke. When her family went to see her body, they saw many injuries. Ms. Wang's family was very sad because she was tortured to death in less than 48 hours! They want to seek justice for her.

The prison administration is afraid that if her family sues them, more of the crimes they have committed will be uncovered. They paid the family 190,000 yuan and paid all the funeral costs. 

High School Student Arrested While Using the Internet and Expelled from School

At approximately 6:00 p.m. on May 10, 2008, Yin Fuan, a student at the 5th High School of Qianguo County in Jilin Province was arrested. When he was using the Internet to form a blog, the police from Beijing monitored and discovered his belief in Falun Gong. As a result, Songyuan City Domestic Security Team arrested him. Yin Fuchun was expelled from school later.

At around 8:00 p.m. that night police officers and security director Wang from Taipingzhuang Village, Hongquan Township, Qianguo County intended to break into Yin Fuan's house, but they were unable to pry open the outer gate. Therefore, they scaled a tall wall on Yin's neighbor's property to break into Yin's house. Five or six policemen ransacked his house, and threatened and attempted to arrest his parents who do not practice Falun Gong.

Yin Fuchun has been held at Qianguo County Detention Center for over 30 days. Yin Fuchun is a good student and his grades are excellent. His teachers and classmates all feel sorry for his being dismissed from school.
