Ms. Qi Yunping has been arrested and is still being detained despite a lack of proper charges and her declining health.

The Depraved and Brutal Actions of Yang Hua, Deputy Director of Tongjiang City Detention Center
On the evening of December 14, 2007, practitioners Ms. Liu Yanchang from Tongjiang City and Ms. Wang Yingxia from Jiamusi City, were illegally arrested by the Qinghe Township, Tongjiang City, police and severely beaten.
Shortly after, Ms. Wang's older sister and fellow practitioner Ms. Wang Yinghua went to the Tongjiang Municipal Police Department to request their release.
The following day, Yang Hua (male), the deputy director of Tongjiang City Detention Center, mercilessly beat Ms. Wang Yingxia. Seven days later, Ms. Liu went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Yang then incited inmate Fu Guoshan to brutally attack Ms. Liu.
On February 19, 2008, Yang pressured all the prisoners held at the detention center, saying, "If you cannot force Liu Yanchang to eat for me, don't even think about getting things from your family or smoking. You won't need to think about the better things in life."
Feeling pressured, six male inmates (Ge Changkun, Zhao Guoqing, Zhao Zhiguo, Guo Quanlei, Jia Dalin, and one other ), began beating Ms. Liu while her hands and feet were tied to a bunk bed. This cruel torture method is known as the "Big Hanging Bed."
Because she was tied up and could not relieve herself, her whole face became swollen with edema, turning purple and blue. Despite the physical pain and mental anguish Ms. Liu was suffering, Yang still jokingly said, "This is not a beating you're receiving, but a massage!"
On May 5, 2008, practitioners Ms. Wang Yinghua and her sister, Ms. Liu Yanwei, were also arrested. Four days later, Yang savagely beat them, too. In spite of the brutality they experienced at Yang's hands, they both firmly resisted the evil persecution and shouted loudly, "Falun Dafa is good!"
Later that afternoon, Yang left the building with Ms. Wang. About three hours later, inmate Li Fulong carried an unconscious Ms. Wang back into the detention center.
Around 9:00 a.m. the following day, Ms. Wang was carried out of the detention center, her head completely covered in bandages. Nevertheless, Yang still kept her in shackles and handcuffs.
Ms. Wang was reportedly transferred from Tongjiang City Detention Center to Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp.
The Persecution of Schoolteacher Ms. Qi Yunping in Haixing County, Hebei Province
Ms. Qi Yunping is a teacher at Suji Farm Elementary School located in Haixing County, Hebei Province. On July 23, 2007, she was arrested by five police officers headed by Wang Minghao, male, the director of the National Security Division, Haixing County Department. She was taken from her home to a detention center. After she was severely tortured and mistreated, she went on a hunger strike for a month. During that period, she was brutally force-fed, which resulted in additional physical and emotional damage. Later, the agents from Haixing County Court held a secret trial where they planned to sentence Ms. Qi. She criticized them and refused to cooperate. She told the officers that it was not a crime to be steadfast in your faith and that they should stop persecuting her immediately. The trial abruptly ended halfway through.
At the end of March 2008, after she had been detained for eight months, Ms. Qi was transferred to the Yanshan County Detention Center ,where she endured more torture. During the time that Ms. Qi has been detained, her 13-year-old son has not had a permanent place to live. Previously he was an excellent student who received top grades, but since the uncertainty in his home life, his grades have plummeted. Everyday, he looks forward to being reunited with his mother upon her return. Ms. Qi's parents, who are elderly, cry everyday. The extended stress of the situation has caused her father to loose sight in one of his eyes. Her mother has also developed many illnesses. Her incarceration has caused tremendous sadness to the whole family.
On May 27, 2008, three police officers, two male and one female, following Wang Minghao's orders, took Ms. Qi, who was now emaciated with many severe diseases, from the Yanshan County Detention Center to Fude Hospital in Yanshan County for an exam. Her family heard about the transfer and was deeply worried, so they went to Wang Minghao and asked for Ms. Qi's release. The family asked Wang what crimes Ms. Qi could have possibly committed and why she had been held beyond her sentenced time. Wang was at a loss, but he did say that he was not the person in charge of the case. Wang later agreed that he would find out some answers within a couple days. The family then went to agents of the procuratorate and the court to ask for Ms. Qi's release. All related personnel shifted responsibility, saying they had nothing to do with it. Eventually, some people in the know told the family that Ms. Qi had never been sentenced. She should have been released earlier, because she had been held beyond the previously prescribed term. Later, the chief of Haixing County Police Department, Feng Wei, told the family to prepare three copies of the Appeal for Release and give them to the police department, the procuratorate, and the court. Since then, there has been no information on her release.
Doctor Jiang Qixiang and His Wife Missing without a Trace In Yun County, Hubei Province
Around May 14, 2008, in Yun County of Shiyan City, Hubei Province, Jiang Qixiang, a medical doctor from Baoxia Town Clinic, was secretly taken into custody by agents from the 610 Office. His wife is also missing, and it's likely that she was also abducted. There has been no news from the two since.
Jiang Qixiang and his wife were doctors at Baoxia Town Clinic. They have worked diligently over the past few years and are praised by the local people. Mr. Jiang Qixiang was the core member of the hospital business. After the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, they were continually arrested and persecuted, and subjected to unimaginable abuse and torture, only because they practiced Falun Gong. There are six members in the family, but the couple's monthly wages are only 150 yuan from the hospital.
On December 9, 2000, Jiang Qixiang went to Beijing to petition for justice for Falun Gong and was sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp. His wife was also sentenced to a labor camp, which left their children at home without care.
Inside the 12th prison cell in the Qinduankou Prison, police officers used many forms of torture to force Jiang Qixiang to give up his belief in Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. The torture methods included tying up his arms and legs, depriving him of sleep, forcing him to stand for long periods of time, forcing him to "dig" his head into the corner of a room, forced labor, and even mercilessly beating him with wooden boards causing both of his legs to become severely injured, and rendering him unable to walk. After staying in the hospital for about a year, he still needed support whenever he walked. For this the persecutors were actually rewarded by the prison.
When celebrating the New Year during 2006, Jiang Qixiang wrote on his house door the character "Compassion" so as to have a propitious feeling and symbol for the household. This was noticed by the hospital staff and they reported it to the 610 Office, who told Mr. Jiang, "Others may write 'Compassion' but you can't." and they forced him to change it.
When Jiang Qixiang and his wife were arrested, his two children returned home on Sunday after walking a long distance from their middle school, Yunshan in Shiyan City. They were very worried when they didn't see their parents and didn't find them after looking everywhere. Their parents' workplace in the hospital confirmed that they didn't have anything to do with the local police center. A very diligent doctor couple has suddenly disappeared with no witnesses to the event, and their children don't know what has happened to their parents.
