Ms. Zeng Xiumei in Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, Persecuted in a Forced Labor Camp, One Lung Seriously Injured

On March 13, 2008, 610 Office personnel in Mazhang District, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, took Ms. Zeng Xiumei to a brainwashing center in Chikan District, Zhanjiang City. They also took her young son, traumatizing him mentally and physically. Ms. Zeng was sent to the Hainan Province General Bureau Forced Labor Camp, where she was beaten and force-fed. She was beaten black and purple, and one of her lungs was badly damaged. On April 30, Zeng Xiumei, who by then was just skin and bones, was released. The police dropped her off at the curb and quickly left.

CCP personnel detained Zeng Xiumei and her son and tried to forced her to give up her belief in Dafa and Master. Zeng Xiumei refused to cooperate. When they saw they could not "transform" her, they transferred her to the Hainan Province General Bureau Forced Labor Camp. Her son was released and her husband took him home.

CCP personnel instructed "teaching assistants" to bombard Falun Gong practitioners with a teaching called "The Sutra of Ti-tsang Bodhisattva" and to read it to them every day. The assistants quoted out of context to suit their purposes and twisted Dafa principles, attacked Dafa, and pressured Zeng Xiumei to give in. Because she did not yield to them, they hit her on her head, eyes, face, and chest every day with Dafa books, and fiercely kicked her legs. She was beaten until she was black all over. They feared her blackened wounds would attract attention, so they stated that she had bad blood circulation.

Ms. Zeng went on a hunger strike for about 10 days and was force-fed. Her lungs were damaged in the process, and she had a fever as high as 42 degrees centigrade. On April 9, she was taken to the Hainan Province Frontier Defense Hospital, which is affiliated with the Chinese People's Armed Police Force. The X-ray report regarding the extent of Zeng Xiumei's injuries is below:

Diagnosis: Lung infection. Left side of the chest has small to middle amount of pleural effusion.

Date: April 9, 2008 Signature of X-ray doctor: XXX

The "teaching assistants" went to the hospital to tell Zeng Xiumei that Dafa was bad and told her not to practice. She disregarded them. They kept watch at her door in turns 24 hours a day.

Ms. Zeng Xiumei knew that the purpose of treatment was to continue to persecute her, so she refused to cooperate and pulled out the needle for the drip, refusing all medicine. They tied up her hands and feet and abused her brutally.

Zeng Xiumei was tortured until she was skin and bones and could not talk. When they realized that she was on the verge of death, they released her on April 30. They did not dare to take her to her doorway, so they pulled her out of the car and drove off. They were afraid her family would recognized them and hold them responsible.

Before the persecution, Ms. Zeng weighed over 40 kg but now weighs only 20 kg. The CCP squanders untold human resources to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Zeng Xiumei was detained for over two months, and was beaten and injured. The nation also lost money--as much as 26,800 yuan--on her medical treatment.

Ruthless Brainwashing Methods in Heizuizi Women's Prison in Changchun City

Well-known for its extended periods of forced brainwashing of Falun Gong practitioners, Heizuizi Women's Prison in Changchun City, Jilin Province, has been favorably recognized numerous times. The Chinese Communist Party designated it a "model work unit." However, few people know that behind the "shiny facade of the good model," officials in Heizuizi Women's Prison use dark and unspeakable gangster-like tactics to torture Falun Gong practitioners.

Case 1: Ms. Zhang Shuqin is a resident of Shandong Province. She was imprisoned in the 8th Division. Two criminals watched her constantly as she underwent brainwashing. She was locked in confinement for several months. Seriously traumatized, she suddenly broke out of the confinement one day, and her four limbs were shaking constantly. From then on, she spoke unintelligibly and had blank stares. She would forget what she had just said. She always complained about headaches and looked pathetic. After that, the prison guards moved her to the prison's Education Ward, but her physical condition still did not improve. Having suffered from severe mental torment and physical torture, she was diagnosed with depression.

Case 2: Ms. Li Juan has been one of the main "reform" targets in the Education Ward since her arrival at the prison. The guards prohibited her from sleeping and used all personnel possible to torture her. They applied all kinds of tactics including verbal abuse, threats, and lies. Afterwards they locked her up in a small cell on the top floor. The guards used this cell to physically torture practitioners. They tightly tied practitioners' four limbs to a bed and then pulled their limbs apart like an "X," a torture that is extremely difficult to endure. The practitioners were not untied when they needed to relieve themselves. Their limbs were swollen and blue, and their physical health was poor. Ms. Li also suffered from the same kind of torture. Many practitioners are being tortured in the Education Ward. Some practitioners have been held in that small cell twice or three times. To achieve their "reformation" goal of practitioners, the guards used these inhuman and notorious tactics to torture steadfast practitioners.

Case 3: Another female practitioner (name unknown) is a resident of Yanji City. While in the 8th Division, her legs and hands were tied to two beds. Then the guards kicked the beds apart, leaving her suspended in mid-air. After several times the ropes cut into her flesh, and her limbs were swollen. The excruciating pain made her lose consciousness. When she was untied, her feet were infected and she had to limp.

Case 4: In the 12th Division for the elderly and disabled, a practitioner in her 50s was held in confinement where she suffered from similar torture for an extended period of time until she became mentally disoriented. She was then moved to the Education Ward, where she was abused daily by several evildoers at the same time.
