Ms. Liu Zhihua and Her Parents Detained in Tangshan City, Hebei Province

"I want my mom, I want my grandma, my grandpa...." Eight-year-old Luhuai was shouting and crying. His dad held his son tightly, his face full of sorrow and anger.

Luhuai's 31 year-old mother, Liu Zhihua, had to leave her lovely son two weeks ago. It was the afternoon of December 29, 2007, that officers from Fengrun District 610 Office in Tangshan City, along with officers from the Hancheng Police Station burst into little Luhuai's house and captured his mom, Liu Zhihua; his grandma, Wang Lifen; and his grandpa, Liu Ruichen. They were all illegally detained in the Fengrun District Detention Center. After 610 Office agents and the police illegally searched their house twice and seized a lot of their personal property, they continued harassing the family. They burst into Liu Zhihua's house again and forced her husband to submit a 200 yuan detention fee for each of them. The police also claimed that he had withheld information from them and tried to punish Liu Zhihua with a 10,000 yuan fine as a result of this unlawful allegation. Liu Zhihua's husband could not afford to pay this huge fine, so in the end they fined him 1,000 yuan.

Liu Zhihua, along with her father Liu Ruishen, and her mother Wang Lifen, started practicing Falun Gong in 1998, after which they changed a great deal both mentally and physically. Cultivation strictly guided them to follow the principals of "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance," and required them to be good people.

However, this family has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) political gang headed by Jiang Zemin since the persecution began on July 20, 1999. In December 2007, while they were clarifying the truth in public, someone reported them. At about 4:00 p.m. on December 29, 2007, they were apprehended by agents from the 610 Office in the Fengrun District and officers from Hancheng Police Station.

Ms. Lu Zhihua, along with her father and mother, are now in the Fengrun District Detention Center. Only Ms. Lu's husband is left at home. He is now responsible for financially supporting his family, doing the housework, and taking care of the elders and his son. An older lady over 70 years old stands at the door every day in the chilly wind, calling for her son, her daughter-in-law, and her granddaughter to come home safely and as early as possible. Little Luhuai cries every day, worrying about his mom.

Mr. Wu Renhui Arrested for the Third Time in Guizhou Province

Mr. Wu Renhui, 40, is a teacher at Chengguan School in Xiuwen County, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. He lives in family housing for the Xinghong Machine Factory, also known as the 1028 Factory. On January 16, 2008, Mr. Wu was arrested for the third time, leaving his mother, wife, and child who attends the twelfth grade at home. His mother and wife are both unemployed.

Mr. Wu has been practicing Falun Gong for many years, and he has a reputation for being a good person. Yet, his belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" caused the Chinese Communist Party to sentence him to a forced labor camp twice, for a total of five years. His father became despondent and died. On the way to the forced labor camp, police officers restrained Mr. Wu's hands and legs and dragged him all the way, causing bruises and lacerations.

In the five years he was at the labor camp, Mr. Wu was subjected to many inhuman tortures. After the term ended, he returned to Chengguan School to teach. While clarifying the truth to students, Chai Yizhong (male), a teacher from the Chengguan School, reported him to police officers from the Longchang Town Station. The school's principal, Chen (gender and given name unknown), deceived Mr. Wu by telling him that he needed to do school security duty and then notified police officer Liu Wei (male) so he could arrest him at the school. During the detention period, no one was allowed to visit Mr. Wu.

Mr. Wu was released from the Zhongba Forced Labor Camp in April 2007. In December 2007, the County Education Bureau repeatedly tried to force him to write the three statements, promising to give up his belief.

He was cornered and arrested on January 2, 2008, and detained for 15 days in the Longchang Town Police Station. The authorities demanded that he give up cultivation and provide other practitioners' names and information. After Mr. Wu refused, they sentenced him to two years of forced labor and took him to Zhongba Forced Labor Camp in Guizhou Province.
