  • Zhang Zhikui of Zhaoyuan City Recounts the Tortures He Experienced to the Investigation Committee

My name is Zhang Zhikui and I am 50 years old. My registered residence is at Dazhuangjia Village, Xinzhuang Town, Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province, but I have lived in Changchun City, Jilin Province for a long time. Below is a brief description of the persecution I have experienced since July 20, 1999, because I practice "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." I am also willing to have a face to face interview.

    Brief Family Situation

My whole family practices Falun Gong. My mother went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in November 1999, and was detained for one month by Xinzhuang Town Police Station in Zhaoyuan City. Since the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, by the evil Chinese Communist Party (CCP), my mother has endured immense mental and emotional pressure. All four of her children have been illegally arrested and detained because they clarified the truth to people. My parents were also frequently harassed by the CCP officials and police officers. Under intense pressure, my father passed away in December 2004.

My younger sister, Zhang Shuqin, has been illegally detained by the police since the persecution began. She has been sentenced to ten years of imprisonment and detained in Heizuizi Prison in Changchun. Her husband, Wang Hejiang, was sentenced to three years of hard labor at the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province. Their twelve year-old daughter was expelled from school only because her parents practice Falun Gong.

My other younger sister, Zhang Shuchun, was illegally detained from July 20, 1999 to October 2000. She was forced to become homeless in order to avoid further persecution. In 2003, she was forced to jump out of a building to avoid arrest by the police. As a result, she sustained several broken ribs that penetrated her heart, and broken legs and arms. She loss consciousness on the spot, but the police did not even spare her.

Appealing in 1999 and Suffering Persecution

    1) Appealing to the Jilin Province Government

On July 20, 1999, I went to the Jilin Province government to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. At the entrance of the building, four to five policemen blocked me, and then they pushed me to the ground and began to beat and kick me for more than twenty minutes. The bystanders loudly shouted, "The police are not allowed to beat people!" An elderly lady who looked to be in her 80s held my hand and cried, "Child, are you injured?" After this incident, the police detained me for 24 hours.

    2) Appealing in Beijing

I was not allowed to appeal to the local government, so I went to Beijing to appeal on July 23, 1999. Outside the appeals office, there were many plainclothes and uniformed policemen, so I could not appeal. Instead, I could only tell people on the streets and in Tiananmen Square the true situation of Falun Gong. Along with other appealers, I slept on the street at night and clarified the truth during the day for over a month. We were all later arrested by the Beijing police and locked up for several hours. During those hours of detention, I was constantly beaten by the police.

Afterwards, they sent me to the Changchun office in Beijing. They confiscated the 200 yuan I had left, and cruelly beat me for a long time. Then they sent more than a dozen Falun Gong practitioners including myself to Hezi District Police Department in Changchun City.

Immediately after entering a room, the Politics and Protection section chief told me to take off all of my clothes. When I firmly refused, he forcibly pulled off my belt, and while cursing, he violently lashed out at my face and head. Then he stepped on my feet with his leather shoes, and ground my toes with his heels. I was beaten for more than half an hour.

I was later sent to the Daguang Detention Center in Changchun. Two weeks later, I was transferred to Balibao Prison in Changchun. In order for the prison to detain practitioners, they released all the other prisoners. At that time, more than 800 practitioners were detained there. In just over two weeks, I was again transferred and sent to the Tiebei Detention Center in Changchun.

As soon as I entered the cell, the police told the prisoners, "Take good care of him for me." After that, three to four inmates pushed me to the ground and beat and kicked me. They then pulled off all my clothes and kicked me again towards the wall. I fell down to the ground and could not get up, but they continued kicking me. My arms and legs began to bleed. The cut on my thigh bled profusely. The detained practitioners were constantly monitored by the prisoners, and randomly beaten and cursed.

Twenty days later, they sent me to the Changchun City Drug Rehabilitation Center. On the fifth day there, the Provincial Party Committee first assistant secretary led a group of people to the center to defame Falun Gong and Teacher, and tried to force us to cooperate in their filming, which all of us refused. Seven days later, they sent me back to the Tiebei Detention Center, and detained me for more than a month.

    3) Appealing to the Beijing Supreme Court

In November 1999, I went to appeal at the Beijing Supreme Court. The staff asked me, "What's the problem?" I replied, "I came to sue Jiang because it's wrong to persecute Falun Gong, as it teaches only, 'Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance'." The staff worker did not say anything, but went and found two police officers who took me to the office of Zhaoyuan in Beijing. On the road, the police pulled off my belt and began to whip me with it while we were walking. I arrived at the office of Zhaoyuan at around 5:00 p.m.. They continued to beat me with the belt and stick. When they got tired, they went to lie down on the bed and smoked cigarettes. After taking a break, they began to beat me again. Three to four people kept beating me from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Then they took me back to Xinzhuang Town Police Station in Zhaoyuan City, and locked me up for a month. At that time, my mother was also illegally detained in the police station.

    Persecution Suffered in 2000

    1) Persecution in Zhaoyuan Detention Center

In January 2000 of the lunar calendar, my sisters and I went to the Beijing's Office of Appeals to appeal for Falun Gong. As a result, we were again taken back by the office of Zhaoyuan in Beijing, and detained in Zhaoyuan Detention Center.

Upon entering the cell, I was beaten by the inmates. The prison guards tried to force me to work, but I refused and continued to do the Falun Gong exercises daily. I told them, "I am not a prisoner, I practice 'Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance,' and I did not do anything wrong." A guard surnamed Wang and nicknamed King of Xinjiang, slapped and kicked my face. The practitioners in the other cells all shouted, "The police are not allowed to beat people!"

After I explained the truth of Falun Gong to the prisoners every day, many of them became kinder and supported my practicing. Some requested to learn Falun Gong from me. Some prisoners said, "If I practiced Falun Gong earlier, I would not do so many bad deeds." A month later, my sisters and I were transferred to the Xinzhuang Town Police Station. However, after more than ten days of detention there, we were transferred back to the Zhaoyuan Detention Center again. After being transferred six times in over eight months, the three of us were detained for a month in a secret prison set up by the Xinzhuang Town government.

    2) Beaten for Unfurling a Banner in Tiananmen Square

In early October 2000, several fellow practitioners and I went to Beijing to unfurl a banner on Tiananmen Square and shout out, "Falun Dafa is great!" I was able to shout, "Falun Dafa is great! Falun Dafa is a righteous Fa! Restore my Teacher's innocence! Restore Falun Gong's innocence!" Four policemen underneath the national flag quickly ran over and beat me and grabbed my banner. They hit my mouth with their fists and palms, causing my mouth to swell. However, I did not stop shouting. At that time, more than ten of us practitioners were able to unfurl our banner that read "Falun Dafa is Great!" The police were mad and roughed up the practitioners. We were later dragged into the police car while we were beaten.

    Persecution Suffered in 2001

    1) Brutal Torture by the Changchun City Police Officers

On October 1, 2001, I went to Changchun Culture Square to release a ten-meter-long banner attached to a big balloon that read "Falun Dafa is Great," "Falun Dafa is the Righteous Fa" and "Restore Master Li's Reputation." This was the only type of method I could use to speak up for Falun Gong, as all the media in the entire country is controlled by the CCP, so no media dared to say any fair words for Falun Gong.

At the Culture Square, I was arrested by Changchun City police officers. I saw many practitioners detained in the city bureau. A policeman surnamed Liang put me into the car and drove for two hours before arriving at a place. I was taken to a room and the cloth covering my head was taken off. Immediately I could feel a gloomy, suffocating-type of atmosphere. A tiger bench was in the room and the wind blew in the mountain. Liang pulled off all my clothes, pushed me onto the "tiger bench," and cuffed my hands to two sides of a wooden stick that was behind my back. They inserted an iron rod in front of my chest, and between my thigh and calf. Both sides of the rods were fixed onto the bench and each leg was tied with a rope, so that my body was tightly fixed to the tiger bench.

Chief Liang had a sharp knife that was one foot long in his hand. He rubbed it twice on his pants and threw it on the table, ferociously saying, "Zhang Zhikui, even if I kill you today and dig a hole to bury you in, no one would know." What he said was true because I had heard that many practitioners were persecuted to death and buried here.

At that time, a tall man about thirty years old came in. Liang pointed at that person and said, "He graduated from a medical college and he will take good care of you." Then he left. The tall man asked me, "Do you have any diseases?" I answered, "Before I practiced Falun Gong, I had a heart disease and hepatitis. All my illnesses disappeared after I practiced Falun Gong. The government is wrong in persecuting Falun Gong." He angrily said, "Shut your mouth!" and then left. Only after the exposure of organ harvesting from live Falun Gong practitioners in Chinese labor camps, did I recall this incident and finally understand why I was asked those questions.

After the man left the room, two guards grabbed my hands, which were fixed to the rod behind my back. Then they swung my hands over my head to my abdomen and vice versa. They repeated this torture many times, and I could hear the bones cracking. The pain was excruciating and I lost consciousness.

They poured cold water on me to wake me up, and then put a metal bucket over my head and fiercely pounded the bucket with a steel club. I thought my head was going to explode from the violent shaking and harsh sound of the bucket.

After that, they force-fed me a bottle of white wine because they knew that Falun Gong practitioners do not drink alcohol.

Each policeman lit a cigarette and ceaselessly burned my chest and back, leaving a hole that was deep into my bones. I continuously fainted, and each time they poured cold water on me.

They then tortured my whole body with a high-voltage electric baton that had a one inch long steel head at the top. They tortured every part of my body for a long period of time. The pain caused me to lose consciousness. I could not remember how many times I fainted and how many times I woke up from the cold water poured on me.

They also burned my whole body with candles. After my skin was burnt, they poured wax oil into the holes caused by the burning. The smell of burning skin was so strong that it choked you. In order to get rid of the burnt smell in the room, they poured alcohol onto my body.

The pain made my body tremble and jump, and I continuously swung around on the tiger bench. My entire body was bloody. The evil police began saying extremely obscene words and pointed at my penis, "Now we'll destroy this for you."

Then they used the electric batons to shock my penis and an iron club to smash it. I lost consciousness. I do not know how long it was before they woke me up with cold water.

After nearly twenty hours of continuous torture, my entire body was covered with blood. The bone and muscle on my ankles was exposed from the painful twisting of my body. They showed me a newspaper, but my eyes could not see anything. I also felt muddle-headed. Because I could not see, I assumed that the newspaper had articles that defamed Teacher and Falun Gong, so I would say on and off, "He is our Teacher, I can't denounce him." They loudly said, "Take a good look at it!" I looked again, and knew it was a normal paper. They threw away the paper, untied the hoops that afixed me to the tiger bench, and pushed me together with the bench out of the room. The wind echoed in the mountain. The weather in the Northeast was already below freezing. I was completely naked and my body trembled, but I was not sure whether it was due to the cold or the pain. The policemen brought two buckets of cold water and poured it over my head several times. Then they all went into the room. After over half an hour, they came out and saw that I was still alive. So they pushed me and the bench inside. The day had broken.

I was at my last gasp of breath when they brought me back to the city bureau. There were many small rooms there, and each room had a tiger bench with a Falun Gong practitioner on it. All the practitioners that I saw were unconscious, and the lower halves of their bodies were naked, and covered by a cloth.

    2) Persecuted in Tiebei Detention Center in Changchun

In the morning, they sent me to the Tiebei Detention Center in Changchun. However, the center did not accept me initially after they checked my body. Due to pressure from higher authorities, the detention center eventually took me in. I was extremely emaciated, but I was still forced to sit every day in the detention center. If I did not sit up properly, the criminals would beat and kick me. At night, two to three "head" prisoners occupied the sleeping space of seven to eight people and had four to five quilts underneath them. They were also served by other prisoners each day. Those inmates who were close to them had a relatively comfortable sleeping bed. As for the rest of us, we were squeezed to the point that it was difficult to breathe and every one held a pair of feet. No one was able to turn from side to side or lay on their back. My body was full of injuries. That painful torture was difficult to imagine. In order to protest the persecution, I went on a hunger strike. On the fifth day, they stopped persecuting me. At that time, I had already been detained and persecuted for over forty days.

    3) Tortured and Persecuted in Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun

Later, they sent me to the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun. I was detained in Group 5. As soon as I arrived there, the prison guard ordered the other prisoners to force me to squat, and then they cruelly beat me with wooden sticks without reason. As a result, they beat me with their fists and kicked me for a long period of time. They dragged me to the restroom, claiming they needed to wash me. They pulled off all my clothes and in the cold weather of minus ten degrees, the police ordered the prisoners to pour cold water on me. The cold water choked me, nearly suffocating me. I fainted onto the ground. I do not know how long it was before they dragged me back to the cell.

The labor camp detained in least 500 practitioners at that time. In order to protest the illegal detention, I could only conduct a hunger strike (over ten practitioners went on a hunger strike with me). On the third day of the hunger strike, the labor camp warden lead over twenty prison guards to Group 5 and "roughed up" the practitioners who were hunger striking by beating and kicking us. Afterwards, they separated us into different groups.

I was sent to Group 1, which was the most ruthless and evil place in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Under the prison guards' instigation, prisoners Xu Hui, Shi Lei and "Three Monkeys" (the nickname given by other prisoners - I do not know his real name) cruelly persecuted the practitioners. They said, "Before you came to Group 1, two Falun Gong practitioners died from being tortured. We are not responsible for killing them. A male practitioner over 60 years old (who used to be a section chief in a department) refused to wear the prisoner's uniform. As a result, they beat him with a club, a plank and a sole until he was at his last breath and became disfigured. Falun Gong practitioners in Group 1 have all experienced this type of torture.

Every day, they forced us to get up at 3:00 a.m. Because we were forced to sleep naked at night, when we got up, we had to slowly get our clothes, bending at the waist, quietly walk out of the room, and put our clothes on in the corridor. If we made a bit of noise, we would be brutally tortured with an iron club and kicked in the head and waist, causing you to be unable to get up. After putting on our clothes, practitioners had to squat in the corridor until it was breakfast time. Most of the time, we had breakfast in the restroom. Each practitioner was monitored by the prisoners. We were not allowed to talk to each other, and even speaking one sentence would result in a merciless beating.

Every day, besides the time that I ate or used the restroom, I was forced to sit up straight with my head raised and my eyes wide open in the sun. I was not able to move at all or I was beaten. After breakfast, inmate Xu Hui and several other inmates would put on shoes with a hard sole. If practitioners did not sit up straight, moved their bodies or slightly shut their eyes from the glaring sunlight, they would kick the practitioner's back with their shoes, and then pull the practitioner onto the ground and ceaselessly beat them.

This kind of torture occurred many times during the day. It was like this day and night. However, it was worse at night. The practitioners who were tortured for the whole day feared going to sleep at night because if anyone made any noise at night, he was kicked in the head. This type of pain and fear can not be expressed with human language. As a result of this fear, several practitioners would sit up during the night with fear in their eyes.

At that time, I continuously coughed at night, and was constantly beaten. In such a painful environment and suffering from excruciating pain, the thought of death came into my mind. However, I could not commit suicide because the evil doers would only use it to damage Falun Gong.

During the afternoon and evening, practitioners did not dare to drink water because they were not allowed to use the restroom. One time, I could not endure it and went to use the restroom at night. After I came back to the cell, Xu Hui beat me down onto the ground and he viciously stomped on my head and abdomen. I was in and out of consciousness. I felt my brain was doubled in size. My skull also cracked from the stomping and blood flowed out from my ears. All of my teeth became loose from the beating. One of my teeth was knocked out and my kidney was dislocated. I could not move for many days after the beating.

One practitioner from Baishan City accidentally had a bowel movement in his pants because he was not allowed to use the restroom. Another practitioner named Sui Futao, over 20 years old died from being tortured because he hid Teacher's articles inside a quilt. After the other inmates found out about the articles, he was beaten more than fifty times on the back with a one-meter-long hardwood board while two prisoners held each of his arms outward. Several days later, this practitioner died from the torture.

Their ways of persecuting practitioners are very cruel. They force practitioners to bend down 90 degrees at the waist with their heads against the wall, while the prisoners fiercely kicked the practitioners' buttocks. This also caused the practitioners' head to bump against the wall. During this torture, practitioners are not allowed to move for a long period of time, so many practitioners lost consciousness and fell onto the ground.

The fellow practitioners I once knew that have died from being tortured include Wang Shouhui, Liu Boyang, Liu Haibo, Liu Chengjun, Jiang Yong, Yu Wenjiang, Shen Jianli, Xu Shuxiang, Wang Kefei, Yu Lixin, and Deng Shiying.

Due to limited space, I have not been able to go into many details. However, if the opportunity arises in the future, I will testify.

Continued Violence in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp; Practitioner Ms. Qiu Li Is Missing

On February 23, 2006, Masanjia Forced Labor Camp established a so-called "Crackdown Office." Since then the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners has gradually intensified. Labor camp head Su Jing, Political Commissar Wang Naimin, and Team Leader Li Mingyu recruited several outside thugs. Their leader is Ma Qishan, and the active members are Liu Yong and Chen Jinglin. These people were hired to violently persecute practitioners.

More than 30 unwavering practitioners detained in the 1st Group of Masanjia were tortured in different ways. The guards forced the practitioners to sit on small plastic stools, wear labor camp uniforms, wear identifying signs on their chests, and perform intense, hard labor. Anyone who refused to cooperate was badly beaten and had their sentence extended.

On April 13, six practitioners refused to wear identification signs. Hired thugs Yong and Chen Jinglin beat them severely.

Practitioner Ms. Qiu Li from Fushun resisted the thugs' demands. As a result, Ma Qishan, Liu Yong, Chen Jinglin and three others forced her into the uniform. They pulled her out in the hallway in handcuffs in front of others. Ms. Qiu Li strongly resisted their abuse. Every time they put the uniform on her, she removed it. She also smiled at her tormentors. This struggle was repeated several times. Each time she was badly beaten. Her head was covered with lumps. To punish her further, they sent her to a small cell for solitary confinement. Nevertheless, she never cooperated and later started a protest hunger strike. In early April Ms. Qiu was suddenly transferred elsewhere. The guard said she was sent to Masanjia's common criminal section, but we don't know if this is true.

Hired thug Liu Yong tortured practitioner Ms. Yang Liwei. Liu hit her forehead using his lower palm like a knife. He also slapped her face repeatedly. Ms. Yang's face was severely swollen and she felt dizzy for a long time.

After practitioner Ms. Yuan Shuzhe was tortured during the day, the thugs pulled her out to a separate room for additional gross abuse. Her arms were stretched out, one hand was handcuffed on top of a metal bed, the other below the bed. She had to lie down on the bed, face down. Each time she moved even slightly she would be beaten. She was forbidden to change position, except for eating, on a daily basis, even for lunch break. She was handcuffed even at night. When the police ordered her to wear the prison uniform she adamantly refused.

Practitioners Xie Xiying from Dandong City and Zhang Jingyan from Liaoyang City also suffered from similar tortures.

In Masanjia's Group One, the guards even used toilet break time to torture the practitioners. For example, everyone in the cell had to use the toilet at the same time; if one refused to go, no one else in the room could go. As a result, even late at night, if one person needed to use the toilet, everyone had to go together. Practitioner Ms. Huang Sumei from Anshan City was a bit slow during a late night toilet trip and was subsequently sent to a small cell for a month. Guard Li Mingyu was responsible for that punishment. Ms. Huang also suffered many other kinds of tortures during that time. The guards attempted to force her to write a promise to "obey the rules." She said, "I am not guilty! Why should I write any promise?" The guards were so angry that they grabbed her head and hit it on the bed, slapped her face, and handcuffed her onto the bed.

Practitioner Ms. Zhang Shuxia from Chaoyang City was in very weak physical condition after suffering brutal tortures in Masanjia. She had a serious gynecological problem and her bleeding would not stop. Nevertheless, guard Liu Yong had no shame and kicked at her private parts. The kick caused her much agony, and many heard her outcry. Now her condition is getting worse.

Practitioner Ms. Yang Shiying from Fushun City was in her 60's. Long-term tortures caused her pain all over her body. She also suffered from a rheumatic condition. A long-term hunger strike and forced feeding caused her severe stomach damage. She could not eat normally and became very skinny. Her condition required her to be bedridden, but Ma Qishan and Liu Yong forced her to sit on a small stool.

In addition, Ms. Liu Shiying was verbally abused, slapped, punched and kicked, forced to stand facing a wall, and was handcuffed.

Practitioner Ms. Xie Dewen from Dalian City refused to do the required hard labor. They tortured her so severely that she could not walk.

Practitioners who resisted b the evildoers include Zhou Hua from Jinzhou, Meng Guiqiu from Goubangzi, Liu Guiyuan from Shenyang, and Wang Manli from Benxi. All women, they are staging a protest hunger strike.

In addition to the above practitioners, about 20 other female practitioners are also being persecuted in Masanjia: Long Sufen, Shi Guirong, Shang Xiaoyun and Zhang Lirong from Shenyang; Wang Lixiang and Liu Yuzhi from Jinzhou; Yu Chunxiang and Sun Suxiang from Dalian; Wang Huinan from Fushun; Chen Guilan, Du Suhua, Li Suying and Zhang Shuzhen from Chaoyang; Yan Chunjiao, Guo Qiuli, Lin Xiuqin and Zhang Xiuying from Benxi; Zhang Chungang from Dandong; Teng Shiyun; and another practitioner that was arrested in Fushun, but did not reveal her name.

My Torture Experiences at the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City in Hunan Province

Because I persisted in my belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," I was arrested. The police transported me to the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp where I was violently force-fed and tortured.

At 8:00 a.m. on the morning of June 6, 2005, four government officials from a police station in Wukou Town, and agents from the town government came to my house. One of them was Ye Changqing (cell phone number: 86-13974071378), the police station chief. Another was the head of the local 610 Office in Wukou Town, He Xiaolong (office number: 86-730-6881238). They ordered me to give them all of my Falun Gong books and materials. I refused to do so, and they searched my house, confiscated two tape recorders, one copy of Zhuan Falun and other items. They also tried to take me with them. I refused to follow them, so they carried me away. I was jailed in the town government building. They subjected me to interrogation and demanded to know where I got the copy of Zhuan Falun and the other materials. I refused to answer. At 2:00 p.m. they sent me to the National Security Group in Pingjiang County. As soon as I got there, agent Li Jianzhou (phone number: 86-730-6288358) subjected me to interrogation. He asked my name. I replied, "I am Falun Gong practitioner and I won't cooperate with you." He beat me down to the ground and kicked me. Then he forced me to kneel and asked if I had ever accessed the Minghui website or suggested to others to quit the CCP. I answered that I had never used the Internet, and it is their own business whether or not people want to quit the CCP.

They didn't get any information from me. After one hour they incarcerated me in the detention center in Pingjiang County (phone number: 86-730-6288410) for two months.

On August 3, I was sentenced to one year in a labor camp and sent to the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp, where I was badly tortured. When I first got there, the guards and former practitioners who now aid and abet the persecutors attempted to force me to "reform." I refused and tried to clarify the truth to them. They didn't listen to me. They also tortured me. They forced me to stand outside for one month, until September 3. I had to stand straight. I was not allowed to close my eyes or open my mouth. My legs were swollen and even my arms were swollen and became black and blue. Then they sent me to the intensively monitored group and forced me to do heavy manual labor. Since I didn't realize that doing labor was also collaborating with the evildoers, I did heavy labor for two months until I had a chance to read Master's new article "Walk Straight Your Path." I then realized that I should not cooperate with the evildoers, so I refused to do any more heavy labor. Policemen asked me why. I told them since I cannot study the Fa and do the exercises I lost my sight, and my hands cannot move, either. So, I didn't have to do heavy labor for seven months.

Later I realized that I should resist the persecution. So, I started a hunger strike. On the fourth day of the hunger strike they force-fed me very violently. Policemen ordered five criminals to hold my head and limbs. One criminal, Yi Hongxia, kneeled on my chest. My nose was blocked, so I could not breathe or talk. They tried to open my mouth with a metal spoon and loosened three of my teeth in the process. The spoon also made my mouth bleed. I lost consciousness. When I awoke I found dirty and sticky rice cereal all over my hair and body. I vomited blood and rice cereal. Guard Peng, the prison doctor and several criminals were scared and left, and only two criminals stayed with me. In the afternoon I told them, "Your behavior represents the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. You are murderers. Falun Gong practitioners are innocent. You almost killed me in the morning!"

I continued the hunger strike. Guards took me to the hospital for IV infusions, which cost three hundred yuan. They forced me to pay it. They also forced me to stand straight all evening for seven evenings. They deprived my of sleep, and forbade me from drinking fluids or using the bathroom. In the daytime they took me for the IV, and at night, they attempted to forcibly "reform" me. I refused to "reform," so guards Shi, He, Peng, Zhao and Huang commanded criminals to torture me. They attempted to force me to write a "reform" statement, but I refused. They then handcuffed me behind my back and pushed my face against a table with my socks stuffed into my mouth. They also held my hands and hit my hands on the table every day for several days, which made my hands swell and impaired their motion. On the night of April 18, 2006, guard Shi brought some people to my cell. They tried to torture me again. The guard on duty stopped them that time, but they didn't give up. A few days before my release, while I was still on the hunger strike, they forced me to stand straight every day again from 6:00 a.m. to midnight. I was still forced to stand there when my family arrived to take me home.

The Baimalong Forced Labor Camp is one of the hells in the human world. The reason for my exposure of these tortures in the camp is my desire to expose the evil, eliminate the evil and stop the persecution.

Further Information about the Persecution of Ms. Que Faxiu and Mr. Zhu Mingchun in Miyi County, Sichuan Province

On November 17, 2003, practitioners Ms. Que Faxiu and Mr. Zhu Mingchun in Miyi County, Sichuan Province, were sentenced to eight years in prison charged with "Disrupting Law Enforcement Using [Jiang's slanderous term deleted]" by the Miyi County Court. Ms. Que Faxiu was sent to Longquanyi Chuanxi Women's Prison near Chengdu City and has not been seen since. Mr. Zhu Mingchun remains in Wumaping Prison to this day.

Further information about the persecution of practitioner Ms. Que Faxiu

On November 7, 2002, Ms. Que Faxiu was detained in the Miyi County Detention Center. Because she practiced the Falun Gong exercises, the head of the Detention Center, Zhu Chenglong, and Lin Hai, a guard, swore at and beat her savagely. Then they handcuffed her to the metal window bar in a cell.

In January 2003, Zhu Chenglong ordered Ms. Que to stand still because she did the Falun Gong exercises again. This time he beat her buttocks and thighs with a "Wolf Teeth Baton" (a baton with sharp points) until she had developed large, dark, extremely painful bruises. Starting in January, each day Ms. Que was handcuffed to a metal door by Zhu Chenglong, Lin Hai, He Wanfa, Fu Wenhui, and Peng Yongchun. (The latter three guards have since retired.) Only her toes touched the floor. Sometimes they cuffed one hand, sometimes both hands. The pain in her body gradually turned to numbness. She was not allowed to drink water or go to the restroom. This torture lasted all day, from morning to evening, and continued for five days.

In March 2003, the guards forced open her mouth with a pry bar after she went on hunger strike to protest the persecution and started force-feeding her. Criminal inmates Xiao Bao, Lao Zhao (the senior Zhao), and inmate Que held down Ms. Que's head and limbs so that she could not move. Another inmate then pinched her nose, and Chen Qing, Zhu Chenglong, and Lin Hai started pouring porridge into the feeding tube. Since Ms. Que could not swallow all the porridge, she nearly suffocated. The pain was overwhelming. The brutal force feeding bruised her throat so that even drinking water was painful.

In February 2003, the prison wanted to take photos of the inmates, but Ms. Que refused to cooperate. Guard Qin Gang slapped her face hard several times until her face was swollen. In April, her gallbladder infection recurred. Zhu Chenglong, Lin Hai, and others escorted Ms. Que to the county hospital for an IV of unknown drugs. Even though her condition was very serious, the prison refused to release her. Later, she was sentenced to eight years in prison and sent to Longquanyi. She has not been seen to this day.

Further information about the persecution of practitioner Mr. Zhu Mingchun

Mr. Zhu Mingchun, 45, was a Miyi County resident in Sichuan Province and a Miyi County Hospital staff member.

On November 5, 2002, while producing Falun Gong truth clarification flyers, Mr. Zhu was illegally arrested by Huili County police and its Political Security Section agents Yang Zihua, Zhou Lin, Rao Xianwen, and Chai Faxiang. For two days and nights they did not give him any water or food. On November 7, 2002, they escorted him back to Miyi County. Along the way, they put handcuffs and leg shackles on him and tortured him for another four hours.

During his year in the Miyi County Detention Center, Mr. Zhu suffered countless tortures. The head of the detention center, Wu Xueming; the deputy head, Zhu Chenglong; and guards Peng Yongchun, Fu Wenhui, He Wanfa, and Li Hai all participated. They also did not permit Zhu Mingchun's family to visit him.

On November 17, 2003, Miyi County Court sentenced Mr. Zhu Mingchun to eight years in prison, charging him with "Disrupting Law Enforcement Using an [Jiang's slanderous term deleted.]" On January 12, 2004, he was escorted to Wumaping Prison in Leshan, Sichuan Province. He escaped when they got close to Wumaping but was apprehended again on January 14. This time he was savagely beaten after he was taken to Wumaping Prison. He was seriously wounded, especially around the legs so that he could not walk well. He was detained in the "Tough Detention" squad. For more than two months, he endured various tortures such as forced running, standing still military style for a long duration, exposure to the sun without water, sleep deprivation, and close guard by inmates..

In March 2004, they took Mr. Zhu back to Miyi County Detention Center, and Miyi County Court added another year and a half to his sentence for his attempted escape.

On May 30, 2004, they transferred him back to Wumaping Prison again, where he remains to this day. Due to the persecution, Mr. Zhu was dismissed from his job. Since the CCP persecution began, Falun Gong practitioners' children and other family members have been deprived of the right to attend college, join military services, or apply for jobs. When the wives are forced to divorce their husband practitioners, the children are usually assigned to their mothers.

The Weifang City Forced Labor Camp Use Drugs to Torture Mr. Jiang Guobo

On October 3, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Jiang Guobo, who was destitute and homeless for more than three years, was followed and illegally arrested by Wang Xiaofeng and a few other secret agents from Weifang City National Security Bureau. Mr. Jiang was detained in the Hanting Detention Center. He refused to cooperate with any of the officers' requests and used the method of a hunger strike to protest this persecution. He was cuffed onto a cross position for 20 days and nights, causing him to faint many times, and his weight plummeted to about 35 kilograms. By November 2005, his life was in great danger, but rather than release him, they sentenced him to three years of forced labor again. He was forced to return to the Weifang City Forced Labor Camp where he had been brutally persecuted four years earlier.

Mr. Jiang continued his hunger strike to protest the persecution. Xu Lihua, the manager of the forced labor camp, Zhu Anle, the chief of the administration section, and other officials incited prison doctor Zhang to force feed Mr. Jiang. They used the large size nose tube (as wide as a little finger) to feed him, which caused him to bleed every time. Moreover, they added drugs to the food to further persecute Mr. Jiang. They started to add unknown drugs to the food after he had been in the forced labor camp for a month. The drugs can damage the nervous system, paralyze the excretory system, and damage other human organs.

After a few months of brutal feeding and use of drugs, Mr. Jiang's body and mind were seriously injured. He experienced severe dizziness that lasted for long periods of time, causing him to faint. His heartbeat reached 110 to 120 beats per minute, and he usually woke up in the night because of urine retention.

On April 14, 2006, Mr. Jiang experienced symptoms of a very severe heart disease, and his life was in great danger. The authorities were afraid to take responsibility, so they sent him to the emergency room of the Weifang City People's Hospital. That same day, they released him on bail for medical treatment.

After Mr. Jiang went home, however, the persecution continued. The Weifang City 610 Office requested that the Weifang City Judicature Bureau and the Weifang City Notary Public Office (Jiang's employer) send personnel to be on duty in Mr. Jiang's dormitory reception room in shifts to keep him under surveillance. This kind of spiritual persecution, including surveillance and restriction of his personal freedom, has already lasted for two months and still continues.
