  • Dead from Torture-Inflicted Wounds: Practitioner Hao Yingqiang from Yanji City, Jilin Province

Hao Yingqiang passed away on June 8, 2006 after long-term torture.

Mr. Hao Yingqiang, 49, used to be the security section chief of Yanji City Food Depot in Jilin Province. After the persecution started in July 1999, he was brutally persecuted by the local police.

At noon on January 9, 2001, Hao Yingqiang was arrested by Xiao Bin, Jin Yongyi and Cui from Yanji City Police Department. After being detained for three months, he was sentenced to one year of forced labor. His family members went to relevant departments every day to request his release, but to no avail. In the end, the Yanji City Labor Education Bureau and Police Department extorted over 20,000 yuan from his family members before finally releasing him.

In 2001, Hao Yingqiang was fired from his job for practicing Falun Gong. He had to make a living by picking up trash for others.

On September 2, 2001, Hao Yingqiang was reported while clarifying the truth in Badao Town, Longjing City. As a result, he was arrested and taken to the Chaoyangchuan Town Police Station, where the police looted over 400 yuan of cash, a wristwatch, and other belongings Hao had with him. He was also brutally beaten by five to six policemen.

While in detention, Yanjin City 610 Office director Ling Jinglin led Chen Moulong and Meng from the police department, as well as the detention center police, to torture Hao Yingqiang. Hao had been vomiting blood due to previous torture he suffered, yet they pulled his arms behind his back with much force and then hung him up by his wrists. Then they savagely beat his head, chest and back with a bench. As a result, Hao's whole body was covered with blood and wounds.

They shocked him with electric batons. Dozens of policemen were divided into groups of three people. Each group took turns torturing him. They did not allow him sleep, water, food, or use of the toilet. After fours days and nights of continuous torture, Hao was transferred to Yanji Detention Center.

After being jailed in Yanji Detention Center for over eight months, in May 2002, Hao was sentenced to eight years in prison by Yanji Court director Li Zhe, judge Fei Yunlong, Li Qingshi, clerk Xu Jiajing and prosecutor Li Jichang.

Hao was sent to Jilin Prison afterwards. There, prison policeman Meng Haijun instigated inmates Wang Hongmin (from Yanji City) and Guo Honggang (from Jilin City) to torture Hao nonstop. He was under their monitoring 24 hours a day. Abuse and beating were common practice every day. Once Hao did not greet these monitoring inmates on his way to the toilet; consequently Wang Hongmin, Wang Longhe and others used benches and planks to hit his head, ribs, and waist. As a result, a bone on the left side of Hao's face was fractured, and the severe injury to his lower back left a big hole there.

Due to the long-term torture, by April 2003, Hao Yingqiang was already beyond recognition. His 178 lb. weight had dropped to only 89 lbs. His abdomen was severely swollen. Two hospitals diagnosed that he was in late stage of liver cirrhosis and liver ascites and that he could live no more than three months. Only until then did the prison release him on medical parole.

At the time of his release, Hao Yingqiang had already lost all his ability to work. Without a source of income, how to survive became a huge problem for him. Even so, the local police still often went to his home to harass him, or ransack his home. They took away his tape recordings, cassettes, and Falun Gong books. Even a gift knife from his friend was taken away.

In February 2005, Hao Yingqiang exposed the torture he suffered on Minghui.net. Because of this, he was arrested again around March 10, 2005 while going to visit his detained wife, Yang Mingfang, in the Heizuizi Labor Camp. The people responsible for this were 610 Office director Ling Jinglin and local police.

Several months later, Xiao Bin, who had attempted many times to send Hao to prison, wrote to Jilin Prison, saying "Hao Yingqiang has turned Yanji upside down and he should be jailed again."

In September 2005, Hao once again was in grave danger in Jilin Prison due to torture. The prison planned to release him again on medical parole. However, Xiao Bin went to the prison saying local police did not want to take Hao back. Under pressure from Xiao Bin, three local police stations did not dare to sign the release document. As a result, the prison wasn't able to release him on medical parole.

Hao then went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Twenty-eight days later, on December 20, 2005, the prison informed his family of his grave situation. With the support of two people, Hao had a meeting with his family who came to visit him.

Hao Yingqiang was the most severely tortured practitioner in Jilin Prison. He had to be carried wherever he went. The hospital said he could only live two more months. Due to Xiao Bin's pressure, the prison did not dare to release him earlier. By April 30, 2006, Hao was dying. Not wanting to take any responsibility, the prison released him despite Xiao Bin's pressure.

After taking him home, his family found there was a bone exposed in the big hole left on his lower back. There was a lot of fluid in his lungs, causing him great difficulty in breathing. His fingernails were blue and bruised. He had no hearing in his right ear. He passed bloody stools. His whole body was swollen, and he couldn't turn in bed. He was in extreme pain. On June 8, 2006, he passed away.

The Police in Longkou City Abduct Several Falun Gong Practitioners

The Police in Longkou City recently abducted a few Falun Gong practitioners. Among them, Wang Xuejing and Chen Guizhi were illegally sentenced and sent to Wangcun Labor Camp in Zhibo City, and practitioner Diao Xihui was detained in Jinan Prison.

On the morning of April 25, police from Tongqijia Police Station in Longkou City, Shangdong Province, abducted Chen Guizhi from Qujia Village, Dianbu Township. She had just come home from work when they raided her home and stole her belongings. They even took away the small tape recorder that her child used for studying. Chen Guizhi is currently jailed in a detention center in Zhangjiagou City. She has been repeatedly beaten for refusing to give up her belief.

At about 6 a.m. on the morning of April 28, policeman Yu Tao from the Xinjia Community Police Station, led some officials from the National Security Group to break into Wang Xuejing's home, and abduct her. Wang is now detained in Zhangjiagou City Detention Center. Wang's mother (in her seventies or eighties) and son (who just started attending primary school) are left at home with nobody to look after them.

On May 8, the officials from the National Security Group abducted Lu Yanna and sent her to Zhangjiagou Detention Center. They threatened that they would carry out a three-year sentence handed down to her in 2004. Lu Yanna was previously a teacher in the 1st Vocational School in Longkou City but was forced to lose her job. In order to support her daughter and herself, she had to work in the Nanshan Hotel washing dishes.

During summer holidays in 2000, just a little over 20 days after getting married, Lu Yanna and Diao Xihui were forced to become destitute and homeless. They finally found a place to live in Qianshan County, Anhui Province. To make a living they ran a tiny business. At 9:40 p.m. on the evening of March 29, 2004, their daughter Shan Shan was born. Less than one month later, perpetrators from Longkou City found the family and transported them thousands of miles away. Diao Xihui was illegally sentenced to 6 years in jail and Lu Yanna for 3 years. The perpetrators used all sorts of means to brainwash them. They released Lu Yanna and her baby after 4 months. They said that they would carry out the full term of the sentence when her son became 3 years old.

Diao Xihui, who was previously a middle school teacher in Feiyi County, is still being detained in a prison in Jinan City. His two-year-old daughter was looked after by her grandmother. She used to cry every day for her Daddy.

Several days ago, two Falun Gong practitioners from Xiadingjia County, Yu Hua and Yu Xibo, were illegally arrested when they were out at night doing truth-clarification work. They are detained in the Zhangjiagou Detention Center.

Wang Xuejing was sentenced to 1 year in a labor camp. She was sent to the Wangcun Labor Camp in Zibo City on May 25. Chen Guizhi was sentenced to 1 year in a labor camp and was sent to Wangcun Labor Camp in Zibo City on May 31.

Ms. Zhang Rongjie on Hunger Strike for More than One Week

Note: The following is a shortened version of a longer and more detailed article that appeared on the Minghui.org website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net).

On May 11, 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Rongjie was illegally sentenced to twelve years in prison in Xinshi District Court, Baoding City, Hebei Province. The charges are related to the incident where some Falun Gong practitioners tapped into the Tianjin TV network signal and broadcast truth clarification videos. Zhang Rongjie shouted, "Falun Dafa is good! Restore Falun Dafa's reputation! Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa!"

Every morning during her trial to protest the illegal sentence and detention. The guards at Baoding City Detention Center ordered the inmates to beat her until her face became swollen and she lost all feeling. Zhang Rongjie protested with a hunger strike opposing the persecution.

Zhang Rongjie was arrested several times before and was twice sent to a labor camp. After her arrest by Baoding City National Security Bureau agents on July 8, 2005, she was first held at Hebei Province Security Bureau and then transferred to the Baoding City Detention Center in October 2005. She had by then been on hunger strike for more than three months. The agents from the Baoding City National Security Bureau tortured and interrogated her during the trial period.

Mr. Chen Xun From Chengdu City, Sichuan Province Taken to the Xinjin Brainwashing Class Right After His Release from Prison

Note: The following is a shortened version of a longer and more detailed article that appeared on the Minghui.org website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net).

On April 27, 2001, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Chen Xun was an employee at the Transportation Division of the former Chengdu Steel Factory in Qingbaijiang District, Chengdu City. The police arrested him at home and took him to Qingbaijiang Detention Center. He was later sentenced to five years in prison and sent to the Chengdu City Detention Center's Transit Station. He developed symptoms of severe liver and abdominal flukes. The detention center authorities ordered Tuanjie Village Police Station many times to pick him up, but the police refused.

Chen Xun was later sent to Ya'an Prison where he was brutally tortured. Chen Xun's five-year sentence expired in May 2006, but he was not released. Instead, Qingbaijiang District 610 Office agents and officials from the Comprehensive Administration Division of  Chengdu Steel Factory and Chuanhua Corporation arrived in Yaan Prison around 6:00 a.m. on May 23, 2006 and took Chen Xun to Xinjin Brainwashing Center. Chen Xun again fell into the hands of the persecutors.
