  • Belgian MPs Publish an Open Letter Urging European Governments to Restrain the New Genocide in China

On April 26, 2006, Belgian MPs Jan Peumans and Jan Loones published an open letter to Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt demanding an investigation of the crimes of Chinese concentration camps harvesting organs and cremating bodies. The letter demanded that European governments take immediate actions utilizing all possible venues to stop this new round of genocide from happening in mainland China.

The two MPs said in the letter that in the past few weeks, evidence of Chinese concentration camps began to surface. According to two witnesses, a death concentration camp of Falun Gong practitioners is hidden inside of a hospital, which specializes in organ transplants, located in Sujiatun District, Shenyang City in northeast China. The concentration camp was built to supply fresh human organs for transplant operations. After these terrible facts were disclosed and while, according to media reports, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was urgently evacuating Sujiatun area, a third witness, a self-proclaimed veteran military surgeon, came forward with the fact that there are more than thirty-five such concentration camps in existence in China.

The MPs expressed that organ trade is an extremely lucrative business. Organs are harvested while victims are still alive. As a cost-saving measure only little anaesthesia is applied. Afterwards the victims' bodies are immediately cremated locally. Families do not have a clue of the fate of their loved ones after they "disappeared."

The MPs pointed out that such a surge of organ harvesting apparently has its root in a recent piece of legislation in China - "Interim Regulations on Organ Transplants." The legislation, which was published by the Ministry of Health on March 28, in theory defines forcible organ removal as illegal. However, the law will not come into effect until July 1, which leaves full a three months for the profit-seeking CCP officials to wantonly harvest organs. The new legislation follows immediately the disclosure of Sujiatun Concentration Camp by Falun Gong practitioners on March 3. Prior to this, China has never adopted such measures, not even after the secret Chinese organ trade was testified in detail at the US Congress.

The MPs stressed that the whole sequence of events is obvious. Concentration camps were exposed, the alarmed CCP officials took three weeks to discuss actions, a giant cover-up mechanism was started, which included denial, whitewash legislation, and crazy profit seeking prior to the law taking effect. The MPs further pointed out that the above crimes of the CCP are utterly devoid of conscience, revealing the most evil concentration camps that do not belong to the 21st century. Today however, in a most excruciating way, a country regarded as an important economic partner by the world's leaders makes us face these appalling crimes. Belgium should organize urgent independent investigation on these crimes. Once the truth is known, history is not to be repeated.

The MPs hope that the civilized world learns a lesson from history. They expressed deep regret that they had not been able to stop the massacre, that international society solemnly promised "never again" after World War II. Sixty years have gone by and history gives the civilized world a chance to make things right. We hope this generation can proudly say, "Not only did we make a promise, we fulfilled it."

The two MPs urged European governments to take immediate actions utilizing all possible venues to stop this new round of genocide from happening in mainland China. Every minute of delay is at the expense of innocent lives and is a shame to mankind.

Singapore: Falun Gong Practitioners' Waist Drum Troupe Becomes Focus During the Big Walk

Falun Gong practitioners in Singapore participated for the fourth time in the annual Big Walk held by the New Paper since 2002. On Sunday, May 21, 2006, about 55,000 people participated in the walk. Falun Gong practitioners' waist drum troupe and "celestial maidens" troupe became the focus of the event.

Banner reading "The World Needs 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance'" is especially eye-catching

Waist drummers are in high spirits

The waist drum troupe composed of more than forty Falun Gong practitioners marched forward to the music of "Falun Dafa is Good" and "Joyful Happiness" during the two and a half hour walk, bringing a jubilant atmosphere to the long walk. Their vigorous movements accompanied by rhythmic drumbeats attracted attention from walkers. Some people smiled toward Falun Gong practitioners, and some gave a thumbs-up. When approaching the end point, a group of walkers passing by the Falun Gong practitioners cheered loudly and shouted "Come on!"

Ten practitioners dressed up in ancient Chinese costumes as "Celestial Maidens," capturing people's curiosity. Many people took out their cell phones to take photos of them. Though exposed to the burning sun, these "celestial maidens" looked happy and cheerful, explaining to walkers passing by about Falun Gong. When walkers found "treasures" (candies and handmade paper lotus flowers) hidden in the flower baskets that the "celestial maidens" were carrying, they came to request them, hoping they would bring them good luck.

About ten young practitioners from Minghui School also joined the 10-km walk. They became quite warm, but all walked the complete route to the end point. When feeling tired, and seeming unable to continue, a less-than five-year-old young practitioner still kept walking and finished the entire route in two and a half hours with her mother's encouragement.

This was the second time for the waist drum troupe to participate in the walk, but was different from their first participation last year.

Prior to the Big Walk last year, the police required the practitioners not to perform waist drums during the walk. Practitioners understood that we did not need to get approval from the police whether or not we should play waist drums, as the organizers also said it was a fun walk, playing waist drum would only add more fun to the walk. Moreover, as a legally registered group, we could display to more people in Singapore the wonderfulness of Falun Dafa and the good demeanor of practitioners. Therefore, the waist drum troupe made their appearance in the walk. At the time, there were a large number of plainclothes police who "walked along" with the waist drum troupe, taking pictures and videotaping them along the way.

During the Big Walk this year, more practitioners played waist drums, and the police who have learned about the truth no longer felt necessary to trouble themselves as they did last year. After the walk, some practitioners in the waist drum troupe came across the police officer who "walked along" with them last year, and both greeted each other in a friendly exchange.

The New Paper Big Walk started in 1991, and attracted 77,500 participants in 2000 and has been recognized as the World's Largest Walk by the Guinness World Records.

Sydney: Practitioners Hold SOS Van Tours to Expose the CCP's Evil Crimes

The Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) evil crimes of harvesting organs from live Falun Gong practitioners and cremating bodies to eliminate the evidence, taking place in secret concentration camps, labor camps and prisons has been exposed since March 2006. Falun Gong practitioners held many activities exposing the CCP's brutality to local citizens, government officers and media. On May 15, 2006, practitioners from Sydney started five van tours to some remote areas in New South Wales to expose the CCP's evil behaviors to local citizens. The one-week van tours called for awareness and help stop the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong.

Reporter from NBN TV videotapes practitioners.

One of the van tours consists of four practitioners. They went north to Tamworth. In Tamworth, they visited local offices of city, state and Federal governments. They submitted local citizens' signatures, which called for an end of the CCP's persecution.

Peter Draper, member of the Legislative Assembly, talked to practitioners. He said, "I have been aware of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. The organ harvest from live Falun Gong practitioners is very serious. Australian government should take actions to stop it." He said that he would do his best to satisfy practitioners' requests.

Practitioners clarified the truth to the secretary of the Mayor of Tamworth. Afterwards, she said that she will give the materials to the mayor and the assistant mayor, and tell them Falun Gong practitioners' requests.

In Gunnedah, practitioners collected more than 200 signatures in two hours. A lady from the Red Cross told practitioners that she would tell the members of the Legislative Assembly, who would come to a local activity the next day, of the CCP's harvesting organs from live Falun Gong practitioners. She also took some signature forms and flyers for others. A local citizen learned the truth about the brutal persecution of kind people, so he volunteered to help collect signatures. Practitioners visited government offices the next day and brought them the signatures.

An editor of a local newspaper interviewed practitioners and took photos of them. He said that the news would be published the next day.

In Coffs Harbour, practitioners visited the city council. The secretary of the mayor said that it is too bad that the mayor is out of town, otherwise he would definitely meet practitioners. The assistant of Federal Representative Mr. Luke Hartsuyker said that he will pass the materials to Mr. Hartsuyker. A reporter from the famous Australian TV station, ABC TV, did not understand what practitioners told him at the beginning. But later, he learned the truth of the persecution, so he went to the press conference held by practitioners to interview them. Practitioners told him their own experiences, and he said, "The persecution is really horrible."

Sue, an employee of a newspaper

When visiting the media, practitioners met Sue, an employee of the newspaper, learned the truth from practitioners. She said that what practitioners told her is what she has been looking for. She made photo copies of the Falun Symbol and the photos of the five sets of exercises. She also said that she would learn the exercises from the local practitioners.

Reporters from NBN TV Station also interviewed practitioners regarding the CCP's harvesting organs from live Falun Gong practitioners. A couple saw practitioners' banners. The wife is from Taiwan and the husband can speak Chinese too. They learned details about the persecution from practitioners. The wife encouraged practitioners, and the husband asked how he could help. Practitioners said that they can appeal to their congresspersons or representatives. Practitioners also said that every signature and every supportive word is encouragement for practitioners in Mainland China.

Practitioners from Sydney will appeal to every level of government and citizens in different ways, asking the CCP to open all the labor camps, prisons, mental hospitals and brainwashing centers in China, where Falun Gong practitioners are jailed, for investigations. Practitioners also hope the international society will start independent investigations and stop the brutal persecution of kind people, which is the worst in human history.
