On April 25, 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Jianpo, from Langfang City, Hebei Province, was illegally sentenced to six years in prison at the Guangyang District People's Hospital. There was no trial and his family was not notified. The lawless officials announced the "verdict" in front of his sickbed at the hospital.

Early on the morning of April 29, Yang Jianpo's family went to the hospital. Mr. Yang Jianpo told them, "They announced a six-year sentence for me on the 25th. Cao Baoyu was given five years, and no legal procedures were followed." On the morning of April 30, Yang Jianpo's family phoned Beida Street Hospital and inquired about Yang Jianpo's condition. The nurse said, "He left the hospital on the 29th." His family contacted Liu, head of Guangyang District 610 Office, by telephone, but Liu refused to answer any questions.

Later, Yang Jianpo's family went to the city government offices, but the officials refused to meet with them. They went to the local Bureau of Letters and Calls and said to the officials, "Cao Baoyu was arrested at the same time as Yang Jianpo, and has already died from the persecution! Yang Jianpo is now skin and bones. Our life is very difficult!" The officials ignored their pleas and said, "We don't handle Falun Gong cases. You should go to the Prevention Office." One official even threatened, "You'll get arrested no matter where you go to appeal. We'll arrest you right now if you don't leave right away!"

Yang Jianpo and his wife Nie Chunling have been severely persecuted during the past few years. On March 30, 2003, Yang Jianpo was arrested and taken to Section 1, on the east side of the third floor of the Fengrun District Police Department building in Tangshan City. Officer Gao Wei and the section head chained him to a metal chair. Then they shocked him with an electric hand-cranked telephone device that discharges 110-volts of electricity. They forbade him to close his eyes. Even now he suffers from shortness of breath, dizziness and seizures due to the torture. Three days later he was taken to the Fengrun District Detention Center where he was stripped naked, held to the ground and savagely beaten with police batons. Nie Chunling was also arrested then and sent to the No. 1 Detention Center in Tangshan City. The guards chained her to a metal chair and force-fed her by inserting a tube into her stomach through the nose. Blood poured from the tube and gushed from her mouth from severe wounds in her stomach. Officers from the city police department crushed her toes with the sole of his hard boots until her toenails broke off.

On February 20, 2004, perpetrators from the Guangyang Police Department in Langfang City ransacked Yang Jianpo's home and arrested him. They later held him at the Langfang Detention Center. On February 25, 2004, they took him to the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City. Yang Jianpo has been holding a hunger strike to protest the persecution. His weight dropped from about 200 pounds to 88 pounds by the time he was released on June 8, 2004.

During the 2006 Chinese New Year, Yang Jianpo, Cao Baoyu and others were arrested when clarifying the truth to government officials. They were tortured until they were on the brink of death. The Langfang City Hospital and the Central Hospital each issued a Notice of Critical Condition. The Langfang City Detention Center issued a release notice for the two practitioners. However, the Guangyang District "610 Office" withheld the notices and transferred the practitioners to Guangyang District People's Hospital to continue their persecution. On the evening of April 27, 26-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Cao Baoyu died at the Guangyang District People's Hospital.

Yang Jianpo is now in critical condition. He is being held in  Langfang City Detention Center.

On the morning of April 10, 2006, Ms. Xiong Xiulian, a simple and honest schoolteacher from Huang Gang City, Hubei Province, was arrested while teaching a class in the Baota Elementary School and detained in a brainwashing center. Because of her firm belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," this popular and honored teacher has been persecuted and tortured for many years.

Xiong Xiulian began practicing Falun Gong in 1999. She was then cured of all sickness, no longer had to go to a hospital for treatment, and no longer needed medication.

Falun Gong teaches its practitioners to become better people. Xiong Xiulian was no longer interested in fighting for personal gain after she began the practice. She was a conscientious and reliable employee who was always available when needed. She went to work early and left late. She volunteered to clean and even prepared hot water for her co-workers. Even though these were not important office functions, they are difficult to carry out at all times.

When school leaders arranged work schedules, teachers asked to team up with her, because she was able to overcome hardships. Falun Gong practitioners are taught to endure hardships. People wanted to work with her because she treated them with compassion and was easy to get along with.

During work hours, she doesn't gossip with fellow workers or fellow teachers, and she doesn't take personal time. She volunteered after school to help students who were behind in their homework. Students and parents appreciated this very much. Her sense of responsibility had endeared her to many parents, and many brought her gifts, which she did not accept and returned graciously. She told the parents that teaching students well is her responsibility as a teacher and there should not be any rewards. Her colleagues and the parents always praised her, "You're an exceptionally good person! There aren't many who think this way."

Such a wonderful and beloved teacher has not only been persecuted physically and mentally by the 610 Office since 2000, but she also was out of work for three years. Her school stopped paying her salary for a total of 35 months.

During the past years, Xiong Xiulian was imprisoned three times, and inhumanly tortured. She was insulted, and the 610 Office attacked her character and assaulted her integrity. The first time she was jailed for one month, and the second time for ten months. Police officers beat her with steel whips, fists, heels, and handcuffed her. As time went by, eight police officers pushed her and handcuffed her to an iron cart. They inhumanely force-fed her, with one officer holding her hands down, a second one holding her feet down and others holding her head down. Some covered her nose so she could not breathe. Some pulled her neck back and forth, and some kicked her head and breasts. Then her mouth was forcibly opened with an iron ladle, loosening many of her teeth. They pulled her mouth inside out, and left the iron ladle in her mouth to suppress her tongue. It is difficult to imagine how much pain she suffered.

On November 25, 2003, a group of police officers from the 610 Office arrested her in front of her students. She resisted, so it took a long time to drag her to the police car. They immediately took her to the brainwashing center in Hubei Province. Because she refused to get out off the police car, they beat her. Those who rode along with her could not help but feel sad for her. She was locked up in a room and three to four people monitored her around the clock, constantly barraging her with lies. They deprived her of sleep, and forced her to stand up. They tortured her with one single thought in mind - to have her renounce her belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance."

On the morning of April 10, 2006, Xiong Xiulian was arrested again.

On February 5, 2006, practitioner Yang Jianpo from Langfang City went with the family of practitioner Wang Shaoqiu (who is illegally detained and tortured) to appeal at Xianghe County Police Department. Unfortunately, Yang Jianpo was arrested along the way by Langfang City's Guangyang District Police Department and detained at Langfang City Detention Center. Without holding a trial for Yang Jianpo, the vicious perpetrators sent Yang to a variety of forced labor camps and prisons in Hebei Province to be tortured. Yang Jianpo held a hunger strike for the entire time. Before long he became so weak that the labor camps and prisons declined to accept him. On March 9, 2006, practitioner Cao Baoyu from Langfang City was illegally arrested for no reason by Guangyang District Police Department and Procuratorate. He, too, was detained and tortured at the Langfang City Detention Center.

On around March 22, 2006, Langfang City 610 Office and the Guangyang area government secretly sent Yang Jianpo and Cao Baoyu to get emergency blood transfusions in Langfang City People's Hospital. To block the truth, they threatened the hospital officials into keeping the treatment secret and not notifying the practitioners' families. During the day they force-fed and performed intravenous infusions on them, and at night they took them back to the detention center. The hospital treatment caused their health to deteriorate even more. The hospital staff repeatedly notified the detention center of the practitioners' critical conditions, however, the vicious perpetrators did not stop the torture.

On March 30, Yang Jianpo and Cao Baoyu were urgently transferred to the Langfang City Chinese Medicine Hospital. The torture continued there. As for what they did previously, they hid the truth and threatened the hospital. The treatment lasted until the morning of April 13.

Meanwhile, on April 13, Langfang Detention Center issued a release notice for Yang Jianpo and Cao Baoyu. However, the 610 Office held on to the notice. On the afternoon of that day, they transferred the practitioners to Langfang City Guangyang People's Hospital (also known as City Beida Street Hospital) to be further tortured.

When Yang Jianpo's family learned the news of him being detained in the gastrointestinal infectious disease department, they went to see him. The nurses and doctors there cooperated with the police and lied, saying that there was no such person in the hospital. But in fact Yang Jianpo was in an isolated emergency room in the department of infectious disease in the north end of the hall of building #1.

The head nurses who were in charge of force-feeding and intravenous infusions to Yang Jianpo were Meng Qiaohong and Wen Mengqiu. The physician-in-charge was the assistant director of the department of heart medicine, Wang Zhijuan.

When Yang Jianpo's family managed to enter his ward, they saw him lying on the bed, bony, unshaven, long-haired, and on the brink of death. Lying next door was practitioner Cao Baoyu, also tortured nearly to death. Upon seeing that their crimes would be exposed, the vicious thugs forcibly pushed the families outside, and did not even allow them to stay in the hall.

The doctor stated the two practitioners' conditions to their families: Yang Jianpo was suffering from high blood pressure, heart and kidney failure, electrolyte disorder, whole body muscle atrophy, breathing difficulty and a loss of movement in the lower limbs. Cao Baoyu had festering around the neck, hypotension, face edema, leg convulsions, gastric ulcer and internal bleeding. They were both in critical condition and could die any time. The hospital issued death warnings multiple times.

When the families learned about the practitioners' conditions, they questioned why the 610 Office still refused to release them. A man in his twenties, about 1.7 meters (5 ft. 7 in.) tall, from the Guangyang area 610 Office said, "There is nothing wrong with Yang Jianpo. He is far from dying. He was on hunger strike for four months in Kaiping (the labor camp in Tanshan) and did not have any problems. Now it has only been over two months. It is way too early! We still pull the tubes out of him four times a day!"

The two practitioners' families dared not leave the hospital for fear that they would die, and decided on April 17 to wait in the hall of the hospital. However, at around 10:00 p.m., the police pressured the hospital staff to force them to leave.

The next day (April 18) at around 7:00 a.m., the two practitioners' families arrived back at the hospital. They requested director Liu from Guangyang local government to allow them to visit Yang Jianpo and Cao Baoyu. Their request was denied. The family members asked, "On April 13, the detention center already issued a certificate of release. Now you are illegally detaining them without any documentation." Director Liu replied, "We don't need any documentation for Falun Gong. Go ahead and sue me. I earn my bread from the Communist party, therefore I need to work for it and be responsible to the authorities, to the people below me and to the patients." He then left.

Seeing that they would not reason, the two practitioners' families decided to appeal to the city government. However, once they got there, the officials there made them go to the appealing office. Once they got to the appealing office, they were told to go to the Guangyang government. The local government then pushed them back to the Guangyang 610 Office. They were kicked around back and forth with no one willing to take responsibility.

In December 2000, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Shao Qiang from Qingdao City, Shandong Province, went to Beijing to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. He unfurled a 99-meter (325 foot) banner in Tiananmen Square and was later sentenced to 10 years in prison. He is now being held at the Shandong Province Prison in Jinan City, and he is still determined in his belief in Falun Gong.

Mr. Shao was an engineer at the No. 2 Qingdao Aviation Affairs Company. After he was detained, Beijing police beat him to the point of unconsciousness several times. After one particularly brutal beating, upon awaking he could not recall how long he had been unconscious. He woke up in a pool of his own blood and realized that the beatings had caused a skull fracture. He could not remember anything and later suffered a sudden mental collapse.

When his family visited him at the prison, they often saw Mr. Shao covered in new scars on top of old ones. Once they observed that half of his face was black and blue and his eyes were severely bloodshot. During the past few years, his mother has written to related government agencies asking for a medical parole for her son, but her requests have been denied.

Mr. Yang Xuebao, 57, from the Yuhong District, Shenyang City, is a retired worker from the Yuhong District Seed Company. He previously suffered from numerous illnesses but recovered completely after practicing Falun Gong. In 2000, Mr. Yang went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was illegally detained at the Longshan Forced Study Class in Shenyang City. In 2001 he was sent to the Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City and released in the summer of 2001. His employer then sent him to Zhangshi Brainwashing Center. On April 5, 2006, officers from the Weigong Police Station, the Tiexi Police Department, and Tiexi National Security Group arrested him again. His wife, Cai Minzhi, was later arrested. Mr. Yang is now being held in the Tiexi District Detention Center, and Ms. Cai Minzhi is being held at the Shenyang City Detention Center. The Tiexi District Procuratorate recently approved the formal arrest of Yang Xuebao.

Mr. Yang's younger sister, Yang Xiaoyan, is also a Falun Gong practitioner. She was held at the Yuhong District Social Welfare Institute Brainwashing Center between October 1999 and May 2000. Ms. Yang was tortured until she became mentally disordered and passed away in July 2002.

Mr. Yang's mother is in her late 70s and living alone, uncared for. The wicked Party killed her daughter. His mother is now worrying about her son and daughter-in-law.

1. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Falun Gong Practitioners Mr. Luo Xiufeng and Ms. Zhang Ping Tortured Through Brutal Force-Feeding

Practitioners Mr. Luo Xiufeng, 45, and Ms. Zhang Ping, about 40, both from Lanzhou City, carried out a hunger strike to protest their illegal arrest. They have been placed in the Kangtai Hospital of Gansu Province (formerly a hospital for the forced labor camp) where they are currently being brutally force-fed.

2. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province]The Most Recent Information on Illegally Arrested Practitioners

On April 12, 2006, practitioners Ms. Huang Yuping, Mr. Li Hengliang, Mr. Zheng Guangfa, Ms. Jin Guangfeng, Ms. Jin Guangzhi, Ms. Sui Yinghua, and other practitioners were taken to the Luotaishanzhuang Forced Labor Camp of Fushun City. Reportedly, practitioner Mr. Sun Hongchang was "illegally sentenced" to forced labor. Because one of his legs was broken from a beating, the forced labor camp refused to take him. It is possible that he is still detained in the Dashagou Detention Center of Qingyuan County. The illegal arrest was carried out by Fushun City Police Department.

3. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Practitioner Mr. Li Honglin Arrested by Debiao Police Station

Practitioner Mr. Li Honglin from Nong'an County in Jilin Province was arrested at his home by police from the Debiao Police Station of Nong'an County, around April 20, 2006. One day before he was arrested, police went to his home and attempted to seduce him into betraying Falun Gong, but Mr. Li rejected their efforts. The second day he was arrested.

4. [Jilin Province] Mr. Li Bo and Others Arrested by Baishan City Police Department

Between April 16 and 18, 2006, practitioners Mr. Li Bo, Mr. Chen Liguo, Ms. Yang Xiuwen, and an unidentified female practitioner were arrested by police from the Baishan City Police Department. Some other practitioners were forced to leave home to avoid being arrested. Two sites for making truth-clarification materials were damaged. Police confiscated two computers, one printer, one copy machine, and one CD burner.

5. [Siping City, Jilin Province] The Shiling Prison Blocked Practitioners' Family Members from Visiting

About 68 practitioners were originally held in the Shiling Prison of Siping City in Jilin Province. Around March 20, 2006, the Tiebei Detention Center of Changchun City illegally transferred six practitioners to the prison. On March 30, eight more practitioners from the Tiebei Detention Center of Changchun City were transferred there. Now this prison is possibly detaining about 80 practitioners.

The Chief of the Reception Office of the Shiling Prison of Siping City often threatens practitioners by not allowing their family members to visit. Some of the detained practitioners lost their visitation rights simply for speaking one sentence about being rescued. Some practitioners were granted only very short visits. The Chief of the Reception Office's police code is 2211426.

When practitioners' family members went to visit, they always had to use the phone that was specifically set aside for the purpose of visiting practitioners. The volume on the phone is set very low and conversations are monitored and recorded. The phone call monitor is the office of the Reception Chief. Whatever is said over the phone can be heard clearly by him. Visitation time is gradually being reduced. The last visitor was only allowed a little over 10 minutes, while the original official visiting time is supposed to be half an hour.

6. [Dongning County, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioners Ms. Jin Chunxian and Ms. Cui Tiemei Illegally Sentenced to Imprisonment

Practitioner Ms. Jin Chunxian and her daughter-in-law, practitioner Ms. Cui Tiemei, from Dongning County in Heilongjiang Province, were arrested and their homes ransacked at 5:00 a.m. on September 23, 2005. They have been detained for more than seven months in the Dongning County Detention Center. Without any evidence, both practitioners were sentenced to imprisonment, Ms. Jin Chunxian receiving eight years and Ms. Cui Tiemei receiving three.

7. [Heilonjiang Province] Mr. Guo Zhongyi from Harbin Aviation Industry Group was Taken Away by 610 Office

Practitioner Mr. Guo Zhongyi was suspected of distributing truth-clarification materials on the Intranet of the Harbin Aviation Industry Group, and was persecuted by the Group authorities and by the 610 Office of Harbin City. He was taken away on the afternoon of April 26. His home was also ransacked.

8. [Liaoning Province] Ms. Sheng Yuxia Taken Away by Police from Dandong City and Her Home Ransacked

Practitioner Ms. Sheng Yuxia, a staff member of the Zhen'an District National Taxation Bureau of Dandong City in Liaoning Province, was reported to the police when she was clarifying the truth to other staff members at her workplace on April 10, 2006. She was arrested by police from the Dandong City Police Department. Four police officers carried her out of the National Taxation Bureau. Her home was ransacked. Police confiscated two laptop computers, two printers, and other items.

9. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Practitioners Ms. Qiao Hongyan and Ms. Wang Yuxia Taken to Heizuizi Prison

Practitioners Ms. Qiao Hongyan and Ms. Wang Yuxia from Shulan City were sentenced to forced labor. On April 25, both practitioners were taken to and tortured in the Heizuizi Women's Prison in Changchun City by police officers including Wang Yanbai (male) from the Rule of Law Section of Shulan City.

10. [Heilongjiang Province] Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison Persecuting Practitioners Day and Night

Recently, Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison secretly established a "tough group," a "forced conversion base," and other evil institutions, attempting to further persecute practitioners with even more secret means.

Prison Warden Xu Longjiang (male), Deputy Warden Liu Zhiqiang (male), Section Chief Xiao Lin (male) in charge of persecuting Falun Gong, and others worked together to design and control these evil institutions. They elected police officers Lu Jinghua (male) and Wang Yali (male) to be the heads of these institutions. The designated location of the institutions was a secluded area above the cafeteria. They carried out isolation and insulation of the practitioners, and strictly blocked practitioners, including those prisoners who were ordered to monitor practitioners, from contacting anyone outside of the prison in order to prevent the news from leaking out. They ordered eight prisoners to monitor one practitioner. At night, they rotated every four hours, to continue to persecute the practitioners with all kinds of despicable means.

11. [Yining City, Xinjiang Autonomous Region] Practitioner Mr. Shi Hongjun Illegally Sentenced to Five Years of Imprisonment

Practitioner Mr. Shi Hongjun was followed and later arrested on August 31, 2005, when he went out to distribute truth-clarification materials. He has since been detained in the Yining City Detention Center. Recently, Mr. Shi was sentenced to five years of imprisonment by the Yining City Court.

12. [Yanjiao City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Including Mr. Zhang Deli Being Persecuted

On February 25, 2006, police from Yangjiao City, Sanhe City, and Langfang City drove several police cars to the homes of practitioners Mr. Zhang Deli, Mr. Zhou Chuanzhong, and Mr. Ma Weishan to arrest them and also ransack their homes. Police confiscated a television set and a VCD player from practitioner Mr. Zhang Deli's home. They also arrested the second son of Mr. Zhang Deli and Mr. Zhou Chuanzhong's son, practitioner Mr. Zhou Jia. Mr. Zhang Deli's wife, practitioner Ms. Hu Baozhen, was not home at that time. Later, police went to Mr. Zhang's home many times in an attempt to harass and arrest Ms. Hu Baozhen, who has been forced to leave home to avoid being arrested. Even her family members do not know where she is.

The second son of Mr. Zhang Deli, practitioner Mr. Zhang Guangliang, and the son of Mr. Zhou Chuanzhong, practitioner Mr. Zhou Jia, were taken to the Gaogezhuang Detention Center of Sanhe City. Before he was released, Mr. Zhou Jia was beaten until both legs turned purple and black and he couldn't walk. Mr. Zhang Guangliang had his back, hands, and feet beaten with water-filled soda bottles. He was injured internally, even though the injuries were not visible on the surface. They also poured cold water all over him. This torture is like the ancient punishment called "Zhulianjiuzhu," a most severe form of punishment for criminals whose family members and relatives were all subjected to punishment.

Currently, Mr. Zhang Deli, Mr. Ma Weishan, and Mr. Zhou Zaitian are being persecuted in the Gaogezhuang Detention Center of Sanhe City. Mr. Zhou Chuanzhong and Ms. Wang Shuhua are being persecuted in the Langfang City Brainwashing Center. Mr. Zhou Chuanzhong is ill and Ms. Wang Shuhua has developed high blood pressure since she was arrested. However, both of them are still being detained. In addition, each practitioner was assigned to two people who were arranged to help "transform" them.

13. [Tianjin City] Practitioner Ms. Xiao Yi Arrested and Her Whereabouts Unknown

Practitioner Ms. Xiao Yi, who lived at Niandeli Area, Hexi District of Tianjin City, was arrested on the afternoon of April 17, 2006, when she was distributing truth-clarification materials in the Hexi District. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

14. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Mr. Wang Zhen's Home Illegally Ransacked

On the morning of April 25, 2006, the police from Weifang City colluded with police from the Weizhoulu Police Station and CCP Residential Committee members (altogether seven or eight people) and illegally broke into practitioner Mr. Wang Zhen's home. Using the excuse of taking a look, police confiscated the photo of Master Li, Falun Gong books and other materials. At about 4:00 p.m., they again led over 10 people to break into Mr. Wang Zhen's home. Using the excuse of summoning Mr. Wang, they ransacked the home and confiscated Falun Gong books and materials. In the process of ransacking the home, police made Mr. Wang Zhen stumble and fall, and he subsequently fainted. Mr. Wang Zhen was sent to the hospital. In the evening, his family members went to the hospital to take him home.

During that time, police followed Mr. Wang's family members and threatened them into going to the police station to write the so-called guarantee statement. Mr. Wang's home is currently being watched.

15. [Changyi City, Shandong Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Wang Shiyou Arrested

Practitioner Mr. Wang Shiyou from Wangjiazhuang Village, Taibaozhuang Township of Changyi City was arrested on the evening of April 23 when he was distributing Falun Gong materials. The next day, he was taken to Changyi City, and his home was ransacked. Police confiscated two machines for truth-clarification material production, Falun Gong materials and cash.

16. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Practitioner Ms. Wang Qiuju Detained in Shibalihe Women's Forced Labor Camp of Zhengzhou City

Practitioner Ms. Wang Qiuju is 47 years old. Between July 18 and 19 (Lunar Calendar) 2005, Ms. Wang went to Beijing to appeal, and was arrested by police from the Zhengzhou City 610 Office and taken to the Shangjie District of Zhengzhou City. The District 610 Office took her to the Shibalihe Women's Forced Labor Camp of Zhengzhou City to be subjected to forced labor for one year.

At the forced labor camp, the guards did not allow Ms. Wang Qiuju to stand nor to sit, but only to squat. They tortured her like this throughout the day. Because she refused to cooperate with the guards and refused to write the so-called three statements, and because she steadfastly believes in Teacher and in Falun Gong and called out "Falun Dafa is good," she was put through even more severe torture.

18. [Beijing] Practitioners Ms. Cao Shuwen and Ms. Cai Xiuli Illegally Sentenced to Forced Labor

Practitioners Ms. Cao Shuwen, 52, and Ms. Cai Xiuli, 44, from Miyun County of Beijing were sentenced to two years of forced labor on April 19, 2006.

19. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Hanting District Experimental Middle School Defaming Falun Gong and Poisoning Students

Mu Lingyi (male), the principal of Hanting Experimental Middle School, has repeatedly attacked and defamed the founder of Falun Gong at school administrative meetings since July 20, 1999. Last winter he forced the first- and second-year middle school students to see the cartoon exhibits that attack Falun Gong at the District Cultural Center and also forced the students to write statements of understanding afterwards. Those who refused to write were taken out of the classroom, hurting the feelings of the students and their parents. He also has cartoons that attack Falun Gong posted on the school's propaganda bulletin boards to poison the children, leading to extremely vicious effects.

20. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Including Mr. Lu Xinjie Illegally Arrested

Police Officer Shen Jianzhong (male) from Ningjin County, Xingtai City in Hebei Province installed a monitoring device at practitioner Mr. Lu Xinjie's home. On April 13, Mr. Lu Xinjie was arrested by Shen Jianzhong. On April 24, Mr. Lu Xinjie's nephew, Mr. Li Hua, and the math teacher of Mr. Lu's son went to visit at Mr. Lu's home, and police arrested them both.

21. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wen Baizhang Arrested

Ms. Wen Baizhang, around 60 years old, is a practitioner from Chengdu City. She was arrested on April 23 when she was distributing truth-clarification materials in the Air Force courtyard.

22. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Song Zhenrong Illegally Arrested

Ms. Song Zhenrong, 31 years old, is a practitioner from Guangzhou City in Guangdong Province. On April 18, 2006, while she was making copies of Falun Gong materials in Tianhecheng District of Guangzhou City, she was reported to the police and "illegally arrested." Her current whereabouts are unknown.

23. [Liaoning Province] Shenyang City Police Department Planning to Illegally Arrest Falun Gong Practitioners

Based on inside information from the Shenyang City Police Department, the Police Department is planning to arrest practitioners in Shenyang City between April 20 and May 1, 2006 (also including the World Garden Conference period). Every police officer is designated to arrest 10 practitioners. All of them will be plainclothes police officers.

24. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] 610 Office Staff Arrests Three Practitioners

At around 5:00 p.m., on April 16, 2006, over 10 police officers from the Zhanjiang City 610 Office, Suixi County 610 Office, and Huanglue Town Police Station arrested practitioner Ms. Wang Lian; her husband, practitioner Mr. Zhong Hui; and practitioner Ms. Wang Liliang. These practitioners are currently being held in the Zhanjiang City Law School.

25. [Beijing] Professor Mr. Xu Yin from Qinghua University Facing Illegal Forced Labor

Practitioner Mr. Xu Yin, a professor from the Civil Engineering Department in the Civil Engineering Institute of Qinghua University, was arrested on March 14, 2006. He is apparently facing illegal forced labor.

The Injection of Drugs

When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is unable to "reform" Falun Gong practitioners using psychological persecution and physical torture, they inject them with various drugs to attack their nervous systems. Practitioners often lose coherence or become comatose as a result. Drugging is among the most evil methods used in the persecution of Falun Gong.

The World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) and China Mental Health Watch Organization report that psychiatric abuse is used to persecute Falun Gong practitioners in 23 of China's provinces and regions. Many psychiatrists follow no medical ethics and join in the persecution. Many doctors who were investigated clearly expressed that they knew that the Falun Gong practitioners they worked with were mentally healthy, normal people, but they still had to inject them with toxic drugs. They said it was their job to obey orders and if they did not do so, they would be dismissed.

Falun Gong practitioner Wu Chunlong from Jiamusi City in Heilongjiang Province developed a serious case of arthritis and could not walk. When he practiced Falun Gong, his illness vanished. When Falun Gong was slandered, Wu Chunlong went to Beijing to clarify the truth. For this he was brutally tortured. Liu Hongguang, Yang Chunlong and other police officers in Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp severely tortured him to force him to give up "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." Mr. Wu was forced to sit on a tiger bench for seven days, and later he was injected with an unknown drug. He fainted on and off a few days later, became incontinent, losing control of his bowels. Seven to eight days after he was force-fed, he lost all feeling from his lower back to his knees. He was unable to move his legs, his chest was cold, his mind blurry, and he was physically emaciated and dying. At that point he was nothing but skin and bones. He couldn't sit or stand up straight, he couldn't think clearly, and he had no facial expression. He appeared to hold no memory, thoughts or reflections. On April 30, 2005, Wu Chunlong was near death. The police extorted 20,000 yuan from his family and Wu was released. On August 20, 2005, Wu Chunlong passed away. He was only 30 years old.

Ms. Zhang Fuzhen died at 38 years old. She was illegally arrested and taken to the Pingdu Brainwashing Center. 610 Office policemen stripped off all of her clothes, shaved her head and humiliated her. They tied her with her limbs spread out so she was forced to relieve herself in the bed. Later, the police injected her with an unknown drug, after which she felt unbearable pain. She struggled as if she were being driven out of her mind and died in agonizing pain. The officials from the "610 Office" witnessed the entire course of Ms. Zhang's death.

It happened in Xuzhou Mental Hospital in Jiangsu Province as follows: Staff members tied Falun Gong practitioners to beds, gave them injections and forcibly administered medicines. Medical staff members injected them with large dosages of unknown drugs. Right after the injections, practitioners would lose consciousness. After a period of time, they would regain consciousness. The medical staff would then untie the ropes from the practitioners. When the drugs took effect, it was so painful that it was as if practitioners' internal organs were being torn apart. Practitioners would roll on the floor screaming with pain. After practitioners regained consciousness, they questioned the medical staff, "Why did you inject and feed these drugs to people who are not sick?" They answered, "It is not up to us. People at the top instructed us to do so. We don't want to treat you like this but we don't want to lose our jobs." They also said, "You will not die from these drugs but they will cause you great pain. If you stop practicing Falun Gong, we can stop giving you the drugs. Do not leave the hospital on your own. If we don't gradually reduce the dosage, you would either go crazy or die. Even if you run away, people would treat you as an insane person and send you back here. The pain from the reaction of the drug is very scary and hard to imagine." The mental hospital separated female practitioners and locked them up with male mental patients. One day, a practitioner put her legs in full-lotus position while sitting on a chair. The head of the hospital came over and said, "Are you still practicing? We will increase the dosage until it is like you are neither dead nor alive."

He Weihua, a freelance writer, was sent to a mental hospital. He witnessed the following: "In the mental hospital, I truly witnessed that persistent Falun Gong practitioners were brutally tortured, tied on a cold metal bed after being stripped and force-fed. They suffered psychiatric abuse. They were injected with drugs or force-fed. I saw the police tie them up. Their legs kept shaking, their eyes would roll back and their voices would lose projection. These normal people suddenly became lifeless. From then on, they turned pale, had no facial expressions, and they appeared to hold no memory, thoughts or reflections. I still don't have the courage to completely read articles about the persecution of Falun Gong because it makes me unable to breathe. Their suffering makes other people's sorrowful lives even more sorrowful. Can only 'a living hell' adequately describe the suffering?"

The CCP continues the brutal persecution despite increasing concern from the outside world. The perpetrators simply commit their crimes in a more covert and vicious way, are more furtive, and keep tight control over the flow of information.

4. Reform - Mental Emasculation and Soul Murder

Jiang's regime persecutes Falun Gong practitioners not only to physically torture them but also to destroy their ethics. Kong Fansun, a director of "Legal System Education and Training Center" in Hebei Province, said to practitioners who were "reformed" that, "Practitioners who can torture and scold others are really transformed." "Reformed" people have to show that they value lying, betrayal, cruelty and inhumanity to certify their absolute betrayal of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." That procedure of "reform" actually reforms a person into a ghost. To those people who own their honors, the "reform" is killing their spirits. They suffer much more than physical death.

Can you imagine? Zhang Xiaojie, the wife of a research scientist of Xiehe Medical University Lin Chengtao, a respected music teacher, was sent to Beijing Tiantanghe Women's Forced labor Camp. After being brainwashed at the Tiantanghe Women's Forced Labor Camp, Mr. Lin's wife succumbed to the brainwashing and torture and renounced her belief in Falun Gong. She sent letters suggesting that the leaders in Tuanhe Labor Camp adopt the methods used in the Women's Labor Camp, including electric shock, physical punishment, psychological abuse and sleep deprivation, to force Mr. Lin to give up his belief. The labor camp published one of her letters. The guards forced Mr. Lin to repeatedly read the letter from his wife requesting the guards to torture him. Mr. Lin could not take such mental stress. He became mentally unstable, rushed into the hallway, and kept shouting loudly. Since that time, he has been in a mentally traumatized state.

A 19 year old female Musical University student, Wang Bo, was sent to Forced Labor Camp. She suffered brutal torture and was forced into brainwashing. The CCP abused her innocence and honesty and deceived her into deceiving her father. They made her lie on the program Focal Point Interview on China's Central Television Station (CCTV). She once told her father that her spirit had already died many times. When she obtained her freedom in December 2005, she wrote that "I now realize how sinister they were to have fooled me with smiles on their faces. If they had treated me harshly, I could have remained clearheaded. But whenever they approached me, they always kept a beaming smile, yet the tricks they used were the most wicked. Invariably, they do everything they can to find out your concerns. When they see that you are concerned about your father, they try to achieve their evil goal by taking advantage of that sensitive point..." This is how Wang Bo described the deception, brainwashing, and manipulation she suffered at the hands of the CCP.

During this persecution, "reformed" practitioners lose their spirits and become sorrowful, whereas the persecutors earn economic wealth. They not only committed a crime, but they put themselves in a state beyond redemption for what they have done, so they are the real victims.

Our nation's people have experienced so many abuses such as "Stewing the Eagle" and "brainwashing" since the CCP usurped the power this last half century. From "Counter-Revolutionary," "Bourgeois Rightists," "'the five black categories," "criminal actions" to "X believers," actually, not only a few people are victims, but numerous people who agreed with the CCP, signed and appeased, or who smiled and nodded are the real victims. Many people were brainwashed during the political movements and became unethical. They gave up their own honor and lost their ways. Especially during this persecution of Falun Gong, the CCP destroyed the human conscience and ruined humans' futures.

5. Righteous Faith Cannot Be Defeated

Falun Gong practitioners never give up their belief when the CCP poisons people by slandering "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." They "clarify the truth" sincerely and persist in their beliefs.

On May 7, 2004, Tang Yubao, deputy head of the No. 2 Group, along with team leader Jiang Zhaohua, called Ms. Gao Rongrong to the duty office and shocked her with electric batons for 6-7 hours, from 3:00 p.m. to after 9:00 p.m. She sustained burns on her face, head and neck, which caused her face to swell and become disfigured. Her face was covered with blisters, her hair was matted with blood, and pus adhered to her scorched skin. She could open her eyes only a crack because of her swollen face, and her mouth was severely swollen and deformed. Even inmates who had lived with her day and night for a long time could not recognize her.

Persecutors can burn her face. However, they could never "reform" her mind. One year later, they could not ruin her belief in Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," even though they killed her.

Wang Yuhuan, a normal older woman, could read only a few Chinese characters. She held a hunger strike to protest the persecution. The police tried to send her to a hospital during the 26th day. But she required three conditions: (1) All of the police must stand on two sides of an aisle; (2) All of the prisoners and Falun Gong practitioners must see her go out; and (3) She must be singing on the way home. During the 26th day of a hunger strike, people can barely stand up. When the guards agreed to her requirements, she did her best to stand up. She sang "Falun Dafa is good!" It is difficult to describe. All of the prisoners and practitioners were moved with tears and clapped for her. All of them were convinced that Falun Dafa is good because of her righteous faith.

Wei Chun, a 35 year-old practitioner, was illegally arrested, and held at the Dalian Detention Center. He was burned by six electric batons on his head, back, legs, ribs and neck, and even pudendum.

He held a hunger strike to protect his belief. He said, "I can protest the persecution of Jiang's regime with my own life. When my son asks me someday, 'What did you do during the persecution of Falun Gong?' I would not like to answer that I surrendered. I would rather sacrifice my whole life to stop the persecution of Falun Gong.

Conclusion

During the almost seven years of brutal and bloody persecution, countless families were broken and numerous practitioners suffered severe physical and mental torment. Like the founder of Falun Gong, Mr. Li Hongzhi said,

Falun Gong practitioners have firmly held the principle of "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance," peacefully and rationally exposing the persecution. They have become more mature. The dictator Jiang Zemin proclaimed before the persecution started that Falun Gong would be eradicated in three months. Unfortunately, Falun Gong has not vanished despite the unprecedented torment. Instead, Falun Gong has spread to the entire world. The violence and abuse of power can not stop the people's eager pursuit of celestial truth from the bottoms of their hearts. In the meantime, lies and torture never reform hearts.

The CCP uses deception and torture to force people to give up their belief and uses economic tactics to motivate others to commit crimes. That shows their evilness and reluctance for justice. As the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party spreads widely, the CCP's evil is exposed to the entire world. Over 10 million Chinese citizens have renounced the CCP. They choose a bright future.

History witnesses the righteous nature of Falun Gong practitioners, witnesses the greatness of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," witnesses the powerful spirit and wisdom endowed by Falun Gong, witnesses the firmness of Falun Gong practitioners, and witnesses their compassion for the entire society.
