On December 30, 2000, I was illegally arrested and sent to the Xicheng Detention Center because I held a banner at Tiananmen Square. At that time, many practitioners were arrested. We refused to cooperate with the evil authorities and refused to tell them our name and address, refused to allow our photos to be taken, refused to be fingerprinted, and held a hunger strike to protest the illegal arrests, requesting to be released unconditionally. Everyone was numbered, and I was given No. 779. The police yelled, "If you don't tell us your name and address, we will send you to the northeast!"

On January 6, 2001 at around 9:00 p.m., many practitioners were called to gather in the yard. First the practitioners from one corridor were called out, totaling about 40 to 50 of them. Later those of us in our corridor were called out. There were many police vehicles parked at the entrance. Military police holding guns surrounded us. The police were calling numbers and dragging practitioners one by one to the vehicles. One policeman said, "We are taking you to Shenyang in the northeast ...." I did not clearly hear the detailed location.

The vehicles left one after another. I was standing in the yard without being called. One policeman asked me, "What's the matter with you? What's your number?" I said, "No. 779." One policeman yelled, "Take him back." Thus I was not sent to Shenyang. I saw only male Falun Gong practitioners. Later I came to know many female practitioners were also sent over to Shenyang. Two female practitioners that I knew of were also transferred to Shenyang.

After returning to the prison cell, we watched a video of the transfer of practitioners on the TV in the prison. Later we also saw the address label, Shanhaiguan, Shenyang, etc. We surmised that the video was taken on the road to Shenyang before this occasion. The police used this type of video to threaten practitioners, i.e. to make us fear that we would be taken away like that to Shenyang. Every day, a few hundred practitioners were sent to Xicheng Detention Center. It is not clear how many were transferred to Shenyang.

When the news of the Shenyang Sujiatun concentration camp's harvesting live Falun Gong practitioners' organs was exposed, this memory suddenly came to my mind. At the end of 2000 and the beginning of 2001, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had already transferred a large number of Falun Gong practitioners to Shenyang because the CCP had already planned this Sujiatun death camp. Here, I am calling on the international organizations to immediately and thoroughly investigate all Chinese prisons and forced labor camps and all of their crimes of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. We cannot allow such crimes to continue.

3. Hard Methods of Mental Persecution

In order to deceive the public, the CCP spent a large sum of money to build garden-like prisons and labor camps especially designed to be appear innocuous, and even pleasant, to outside visitors, while it boasts the "reform" of Falun Gong practitioners resembles "spring breezes and rain". In fact, the CCP uses violence, torture and murder to pursue its desired "reform rate."

"Stewing the eagle"

The guards at the Xin'an Labor Camp in Beijing told Falun Gong practitioners, "We'll treat you like spies until you suffer a nervous breakdown and reform."

In order to force Falun Gong practitioner Li Deshan, an outstanding teacher from Dezhou City, Shandong Province to reform, guards at the Wangcun Labor Camp in Shandong Province cuffed his hands and feet to two neighboring beds and pulled the beds apart, which nearly tore his body apart. Another torture Li Deshan suffered is the so-called "Half-flying." His arms were stretched out with his hands chained to a metal bed frame. He was hung up like this with only his toes barely touching the floor for half a month. Mr. Li was also constantly shocked with electric batons. He was jailed in a solitary confinement, monitored by criminals, allowed only one to two hours of sleep every day for half a year, and criminals slapped his face if he closed his eyes. When his mind was not clear due to sleep deprivation, they ordered Li Deshan to read material that had been written to defame Falun Gong and recorded his words; then they finally let him go to sleep. When he woke up with a clear mind, they played his recording in public. Li Deshan denied making the statement, so the policemen deprived him of sleep and forced him to read the materials again when his mind was not clear, and recorded it and played it again. After repeatedly going through mind-numbing torment, he firmly upheld his belief until he died.

Practitioner Luo Qingshu, in her 80s, was handcuffed and hung up for a long time at the Gongjiawan Legal Training School in Lanzhou City. She was coerced to write "guarantee statements." Her legs swelled and appeared translucent; she could not even remove her sweatpants and could not bend her legs. Deep and long cracks appeared on her thighs and calves; her hands looked like balls from the swelling and she could not bend her fingers. Once, she was hung up for 12 days nonstop. She was not allowed to sleep. They let her down only when she was on the brink of death. Guard Qi slapped her face until blood came from her nose and mouth, and her face became swollen and looked deformed. Qi screamed, "If you don't listen to the Communist Party and don't reform, I'll hang you up hundreds of times, skin you and pull out your tendons."

In November 2003, practitioner Li Mingtao from Handan City was detained in a small dark room at the Beijiao Prison in Shijiazhuang City because he held onto his belief. He was tortured with "taming the eagle" and savage beatings. Guards from the Education Section "advised" him, "Don't be stubborn! How can you practice [Falun Gong] when you are in a prison? If you don't write a guarantee statement, don't you know this is a coercion reform agency?" Li Mingtao insisted, "We are not doing anything wrong by practicing Falun Gong and by being good people." Guard Zhao Jun hammered metal nails underneath Li Mingtao's fingernails. Six months later, Li Mingtao's fingers were still ulcerated and seeping pus.

The Beijing Judicial, Law and Administration Net reported how Li Jirong, head of Group 4 of the Beijing Women's Labor Camp reformed Falun Gong practitioner Du, "After 16 day-and-night continuous work, Du wrote a 'break away statement'."

At the Dongshan District Legal Education School in Guangzhou City, each day loudspeakers blast slandering propaganda at illegally detained Falun Gong practitioners at a deafening volume and forbid the practitioners to sleep.

Torture

A large amount of evidence shows horrific tortures are used at labor camps, detention centers, prisons, mental hospitals, drug rehabilitation centers and brainwashing classes, without exception. More than 100 torture methods from the past, present, from inside and outside of China are used to brutalize Falun Gong practitioners who want to be good people.

Shocking with multiple high-voltage electric batons at the same time: the body parts shocked include mouth, head, face, chest, breasts, other private parts, and others; various kinds of handcuffs and shackles and hanging-up; various sticks, clubs and whips including rubber clubs, spiked stick, leather whip, copper wire whip, steel bar, etc; hammering bamboo sticks and metal nails into the practitioners' fingers, so deep they reach the practitioners' bones; pinching the practitioners' flesh with pliers; force-feeding pepper water, concentrated salt water and feces through a large-diameter plastic tube; pouring cold water all over the practitioners in the winter, strip the practitioners of their clothes and throwing them outside; force the practitioners to stand under the sun in the heat of summer, burn them with hot iron rods; forbidding restroom use; dungeon, water dungeon, Tiger Bench, Death Bed, sitting on small stools and in metal chairs, solitary confinement cell; rape, gang rape and other sexual abuse of female Falun Gong practitioners.

Authorities oat the Sanshui Labor Camp in Guangdong Province used "five horses splitting the body" in forcing Falun Gong practitioners to give up their belief. It works like this: handcuff and shackle the practitioner and pull them in four different directions. On January 2, 2003, guard Zhang Wujun, together with several inmates under his order, handcuffed practitioner Huang Zhufeng's four limbs and stretched them hard in four directions simultaneously, which made Huang Zhufeng to dislocate his shoulders and his hands were covered in blood. Twenty-eight days later the muscles on his arms atrophied.

Following is the account from graduate student Zhao Ming at Trinity College in Dublin:

"...They ordered me not to sleep for two days and coerced me to 'reform.' After I refused, they tied my arms, upper body, legs, and feet to the bed plank. Then they put a rope across my mouth and tied down my head this way ...They shocked me all over my body with at least six electric batons, each one capable of releasing tens of thousands of volts of electricity.

My entire body started to twitch and jerk fiercely. It was tremendously painful. I was short of breath and felt my throat dry up. I breathed with difficulty. From time to time they would stop to maintain my acuity to pain and tried to force me to sign some statements. Policeman Liu Guoxi was very experienced in using the electric batons. He held an electric baton in each hand and rolled the batons against my chest, using the wires to shock me. My ears were filled with the cracking of electric baton touching the flesh, and the air was filled with the scorched smell of flesh; each air particle was filled with violence and evil...

They never stopped. With tremendous physical and mental torment, I almost could no longer maintain a clear mind and reasoning. [It lasted] until I agreed to reform." (more details, please see /emh/articles/2002/6/14/23085.html)

At the secret torture chamber on Jingyue Mountain, Jingyuetan, Changchun City, Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Zhikui was stripped naked. His hands were cuffed behind his back on a Tiger Bench; the guards repeatedly yanked his cuffed hands from behind him in front of his body; [in the process] his bones cracked and broke; tendons and bones were exposed on his ankles in his painful struggle, because his feet were shackled. The guards burned his entire back with cigarettes and candles until it turned black, and then they poured hot wax on his back until not a single intact piece of skin could be found. He refused to renounce his belief, even when the guards shocked his genitals, and the guards finally smashed the tip of his penis...

34-year-old Liu Haibo, a doctor from CT Section at the Luyuan District Hospital had a very long electric baton inserted into his anus, which directly shocked his internal organs until he died...

At least 23 Falun Gong practitioners were tortured to death in an attempt to "reform" them at this torture chamber.

Wang Yuhuan, a 60-year-old woman was illegally detained and held in labor camp(s) nine times within six years by the Changchun police because she persisted in her belief in Truth-Compassion-Tolerance. She was tortured on the Tiger Bench for three days and two nights and was otherwise savagely tortured every five minutes. The guards poured boiling or freezing water on her after she lost consciousness, and they continued to torture after she came to; they shocked her head and face until they were scorched; they burned her eyes with cigarettes and stabbed the inside of her ears with thin bamboo sticks, which pierced her eardrums and caused permanent hearing loss...More horrific: the guards stripped Wang Yuhuan who is of similar age as the guards' parents and other female Falun Gong practitioners naked; they spread the practitioners' arms and legs, tied them to hard wood planks for 26 days and insulted them in every way possible.

Yang Guang was tortured in the two years between January 2000 and March 2002. The torturers were Liang, head of Group 1 of the Changchun Police Department and his subordinates. They shocked him with electric batons, tortured him on the Tiger Bench and put him in a straitjacket, the Big Hang-up [In this torture, the practitioner is hung up by his cuffed hands and his feet just off the ground], tried to suffocate him by wrapping his head in a plastic bag and force-fed him alcohol. The beating caused him to lose hearing in his left ear and lose function in his arms, and his lower body became paralyzed. He was illegally sentenced to 15 years in prison. They took him to the section for old and disabled detainees at Jilin Prison. He was held at a "Naked Group" where the detainees are kept out of the sunlight all year long; their lower bodies are always bare, and they live in filthy feces and urine.

Chang Xuexia, a quiet woman from Dalian City, was sent to the Dalian Labor Camp again in January 2003 because the morally bankrupt people wanted to "reform" her. Group head Wan Yalin ordered inmates to strip her naked, hang her up, beat and kick her, pinch her nipples, pluck her pubic hair, and savagely stab her vagina in a sawing motion with a large shoe brush...

The perpetrators tortured practitioner Ms. Wang Lijun by pulling a knotted rope back and forth across her genitals, causing them to swell. They also broke a wooden handle of a broom and inserted the sharp end into her vagina, causing massive bleeding. Her lower stomach and genitals swelled tremendously. These brutes, completely devoid of human nature, used such torture on unmarried female practitioners!

These mind-numbing tortures exceed human imagination and defy any description. The 100% reform of Falun Gong practitioners is forcing each practitioner to choose between giving up their belief and enduring constantly escalating brutal persecution. For a determined practitioner, giving up his belief means spiritual death, while enduring constantly escalating persecution very likely leads to physical death. From any perspective, the CCP and Jiang's regime are clearly trying to wipe out Falun Gong.

 My younger brother holds a Master's degree in medicine. He is 30 years old. He has always been a good student. He won several awards in different Olympic Math and Physics Contests. He published articles in Hong Kong journals. His professor was very proud of him. Many other professors respected him as well. However, because he practices Falun Gong, they persecuted him. He lost his job and had to leave his home. He has yet to return.

My brother worked for a private medical office before he went missing. He lived in our old house in the suburbs. My mother often went there and cooked for him.

On Friday, November 26, 2004, I visited my brother after work. He told me that someone had followed him when he clarified the truth. The follower lived right downstairs. Someone had also searched his room. I suddenly felt threatened. Someone also followed me when I went home. In those days, even when I sent my child to day care, I felt as though more than 10 people were watching me. I went to see my brother every day during those days.

In the afternoon on November 29, I left my brother's place and waited for a bus in front of the house. A mean looking man in plain clothing stood right in front of me. Another man in regular clothes stood behind him. They were very close to me and were staring at me. I smiled and looked at them with dignity. I was very calm and had no fear. They exchanged eye contact every now and then. After half an hour, when the bus still did not come, I called a taxi. The two then followed me.

My mother went to the house in the afternoon on Thursday, December 1. She left the next morning. It turned out that this was the last time we saw my brother. We were very nervous but stayed calm during those days. My brother and I had decided that every time I went to his place, if he was not at home, I would put down a white piece of paper. When he returned, he would pick it up and put it aside. The next time I visited and the paper was still there, it meant that he was gone. In those days, I did not want to think about what might end up happening. I only gave him 500 yuan, a local map, and an e-book. A neighbor told us that during those two days, they saw two men and a woman standing in front of our house and looking inside.

On Friday, December 3, I went to the house but my brother was not there. I put down the white paper. On Sunday when I went again, I found the white paper still untouched. I immediately called my mother to come.

My mother was shocked when she arrived. It was in the cold winter. My brother did not even wear a coat when he left. My mother went to search for him everywhere. She went to the medical office where my brother worked. The Police Department was already monitoring the office. Their car was parked just in front of the office. The owner of the medical office was afraid to talk to my mother. He only wrote something on a notepad and immediately went upstairs. My mother picked up the note, which stated: "Please don't come here again." She was very sad.

My mother told me that before she had left the house in the suburbs on her previous visit, the Street Community Head had brought over a 30-year-old man. He had claimed that the man was from the water supply company. He went to check each room, including the storage room, and asked many questions, such as, "How many people are in the family? Where is your son? Where is your daughter?" My mother did not realize it until later that he was a secret agent.

Before that, three people from the city's Police Department went twice to the medical office where my brother worked. The second time, people from the city's Health Bureau accompanied them, so they were let in. They stayed there for three hours and did something on the computers.

Based on my estimate, my brother had been followed for at least half a month by then. I bought a monitor early in November and moved my brother's old computer to my house. Because an LCD monitor is not supposed to be exposed to direct sunshine, I covered it with a big towel. One day, when I came home, I found that the towel had been lifted and folded in half from the bottom up. I never covered it like that. My husband said he did not touch it either. Therefore, it must have been somebody who came in and touched my computer when we were not at home. My brother was certain about it, too, because he found the files in the computer had been changed.

After my brother left, people from the city's Police Department went to my husband's workplace and asked my husband many questions about me and my family.

Since my brother has gone missing, my parents have experienced great sorrow. They have become thinner and older. Their hair has turned grey. Without my brother's treatment, my father's diabetes has worsened as has his memory. The doctor's diagnosis was atrophied cerebellum. He has to take a lot of medicine. He often cries and says to people, "My son is missing!"

My mother sometimes cries and sometimes loses consciousness. She no longer is able to sleep and has almost lost her mind. She said to me several times, "I can't handle this anymore. I can't support the family anymore." She suffers from high blood pressure, and angina, has had a stroke, and has lumbar vertebral disk protrusion. She then developed cholecystitis and kidney stones. Friends and family were all scared but could not help. My parents' medical expenses are over 1000 yuan per month. Our family's financial situation has become desperate all of a sudden. It is an attack on the entire family. I cannot sleep and have lost my appetite as well.

Every time I see my parents so lonely and hear my mother crying, "I miss your brother. Why did this happen to me?" my heart starts to break, too.

The CCP has not committed just this one crime! My mother's life experience is a testimony to that. When she was only four years old, the CCP labeled my hard-working grandfather as a "tyrant landowner." He was beaten to death. My mother has suffered ever since. My grandmother starved to death because she was the "wife of a tyrant landowner" and she had no food allocated to her in 1961. They did not allow my mother to go to high school because of the family's so-called "tyrant landowner" background. During the Cultural Revolution, they searched everywhere for my mother and wanted to kill her. When my mother was 16, she had to hide in the homes of relatives. She did housework for others and did the most tiring work in the mountains of Yichun. She was finally able to return alive. Now that she is getting older, she has had to face this tragedy in her life. The crimes the CCP has committed are too many to count.

On February 13, 2005, I received a short letter. It said that my brother was doing well. But it's been over a year now, and I have not heard anything else about him. In October 2005, I read an article. The author had the exact same name as my brother. However, I could not confirm that it was he. They have monitored my cell phone since my brother left. Later I found out that the cell phone I bought for my mother was monitored as well. We broke the phone in our house because we were disgusted with this kind of monitoring.

In April 2005, I helped my mother move into a house in the suburbs. Prior to the move, there were always people looking around my mother's house. They stared at me when I went there. Once, somebody knocked on the door. When my mother opened it, a 20-year-old young man said he was there to exchange the gas tanks. My mother said, "I don't need any gas tanks. You don't have to come here any more." But he didn't go to any other homes. The next day, he came to knock on the door again. My mother said, "I told you that you don't have to come. Why are you here again?" He couldn't give a good answer. I then realized that my mother was being monitored. I started worrying about the safety of my parents. They were scared as well.

After we hurriedly moved, there were people who wanted to rent the house, so we rented it out. However, within a month, it was broken into. They broke the door open when the tenant was not at home. They stole an MP3 player, a VCD, and around 2000 yuan in cash. We lived there for over 20 years without ever being broken into. Because of the time this happened, I have to believe that the Security Bureau did this by hiring some gangsters.

Recently my parents returned from Hulu Island in Liaoning Province where my uncle's family lives. It had been 20 years since they had seen each other. They returned in a hurry after only two weeks. My mother told me with fear that my uncle's family was being monitored, too! They even paid someone 500 yuan per month to watch us. My mother felt for the first time directly that she was being monitored. She said with grief and indignation, "Being watched like this is like being in jail. When is this going to end? I can't hold up this family anymore. I'm afraid I'll die before your brother returns." Because of this we also had to stop using cell phones.

My mother and I just realized that all of our phone calls to our friends and family had been monitored! We are still being closely monitored even today. How much money have they invested in this!

Today when I heard about the news of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners in Sujiatun Concentration Camp, I was so worried. I don't know if I should tell this terrible news to my parents. They wouldn't be able to handle it. I'm really worried about my brother!

We are hoping to hear good news about my brother, but we will never give any evil any chances. We will live tenaciously and wait for the day my brother returns!

 Falun Gong practitioner Mrs. Hou Junfang, 59, lived in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. She was the wife of an employee of the Hongguang Electronics Factory. She had many diseases before practicing, including heart disease, migration, gallstones, etc. She became very healthy after practicing Falun Gong in 1995.

After the evil party started persecuting Falun Gong in July 1999, Ms. Hou Junfang went to Beijing to appeal in December 1999. She was detained for fifteen days and extorted of more than three thousand yuan. Ever since then, policemen, 610 Office agents, and the Neighborhood Administration often came to her house to harass her, causing huge damage to her mental and physical health.

In December 2000, Ms. Hou Junfang went to Beijing to appeal again. She was arrested and taken to the Square Police Station, sent to Changping County, and forced to tell her name and address. She was brutally beaten because she refused identify herself. Policemen feared she might die, so they dropped her off on the roadside. She was very clear-headed, so she rolled into a woodland area to prevent being killed by the police vehicle. She climbed to the road later, and was taken to a motel by a kind-hearted tricycle rider. She rested there for two hours and then took a bus to the Beijing West Train Station, and returned home on her own.

During the past several years, due to close monitoring and harassment by policemen and 610 Office agents, her health continually worsened. She died on January 4, 2006.

1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jiang Chunxia is Dying in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp with Her Term Extended

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Jiang Chunxia, 36, lives in Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province. Since July 20, 1999, she has gone to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong many times. She was arrested in April 2004 while clarifying the truth and has since been detained in the Second Branch of Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Her term was extended by three months for firmly practicing Falun Gong. During the extension period, she has been severely tortured. One night, guards stripped her, pressed her down to the cement floor overnight, and beat her brutally the next day. She has been in handcuffs for one month. Currently, Ms. Jiang's whole body is swollen, some of her bones are fractured, and she has been on hunger strike for more than a month. The guards will not release her even though her life is in danger.

2. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Lu Hengyi, Ms. Zou Xiaoying, and Ms. Liu Xianghua Detained

Practitioner Mr. Lu Hengyi was arrested on his way to work at the post office on September 23, 2005. On February 11, 2006, practitioners Ms. Zou Xiaoying and Ms. Liu Xianghua went to Mudanjiang City and Anning City and were arrested. These three practitioners are detained in the First and Second Detention Centers in Mudanjiang City.

3. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Xupeng and Mr. Ma Wanli Detained in Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp Brainwashing Center

Practitioners from Shenyang City Mr. Li Xupeng and Mr. Ma Wanli are detained in Zhangshi Labor Camp Brainwashing Class. On the afternoon of April 19, 2006, Mr. Li Xupeng's neighbor called the Zhangshi Labor Camp and asked to visit. The Head of the center, Shi Fengyou (male), hesitated, but consented.

4. [Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Suxian Detained in the Heishan Detention Center

On March 24, 2006, the State Security Agents of the Heishan County Police Department ransacked practitioner Ms. Li Suxian's home located in Tangjia Village, Changxing Town, Heishan County, Liaoning Province. At 7:00 a.m., on April 12, 2006, Ms. Li Suxian was arrested at home. Witnesses said policemen carried Ms. Li into the police vehicle and were very rude to her family members. Ms. Li is detained in the Heishan County Detention Center.

5. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Guilan Forced into the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center

Around noon on April 1, 2006, practitioner Ms. Liu Guilan from Qingyuan Town, Qingyuan County, was sent to the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Ceneter by Qingyuan Town Government officials.

6. [Fangcheng County, Henan Province] Ms. Fan Xianglian and Two Other Practitioners Arrested

On the morning of April 19, 2006, policemen from the Fangcheng County Department stormed into the homes of practitioners Ms. Fan Xianglian and Ms. Wang Changxiang, confiscated their possessions, and arrested Ms. Fan Xianglian, her daughter, and Ms. Wang Changxiang.

7. [Jilin Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Liu Shuanghui from Shulan City Was Tortured in Heizuizi Women's Prison Located in Changchun City and Could Not Eat for Several Days

8. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Yang Xiwen and Mr. Chen Liguo Arrested

Practitioners Mr. Yan Xiuwen, 44 years old, and Mr. Chen Liguo from Baishan City were arrested on the afternoon of April 17, 2006, by policemen from the Baishan City Department.

9. [Fuyuan County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Lu Zhongyang and Ms. Li Wei Arrested

On the afternoon of April 18, 2006, practitioners Mr. Lu Zhongyang and Ms. Li Wei were arrested from their workplace by policemen Zhang Sidong, Guo Jishan, and Chai Jinlin. All three of the officers are male. They stole Ms. Li Wei's house key and ransacked her home. Mr. Lu Zhongyang and Ms. Li Wei are currently detained in the Fuyuan County Detention Center.

11. [Heilongjiang Province] Persecution Facts about Bei'an Prison

At the beginning of 2004, CCP Director Liu Youtang (male) of Bei'an Prison wrote an article attacking Falun Gong, brainwashed all prisoners and guards in the prison, and ordered them to torture Falun Gong practitioners.

Some wards deprived practitioners of the right to sleep for several days in a row, some brutally beat practitioners, and others locked practitioners in "small cells" less than 50 square feet, where practitioners had to spend 24 hours a day and sleep on the floor without any bedding. If practitioners did the Falun Gong exercises in the small cells, they were handcuffed to the ground by either one or both hands. Some wards had prisoners write the Three Statements, then force practitioners to fingerprint the statements. The wards then published them in the prison paper in an attempt to move practitioners' righteous faith.

12. [Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Zhaohong Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

On September 29, 2005, practitioner Ms. Zhang Zhaohong was arrested at home by policeman Liu Yiquan, male, and others from the Zhanhe Forestry Department. She was detained in the Zhanhe Forestry Detention Center. Ms. Zhang went on hunger strike to protest the persecution but was tortured with force-feeding and sent to the hospital twice for emergency treatment. Ms. Zhang Zhaohong was sentenced to five years in prison in 2006 and sent to Harbin Women's Prison on March 1, 2006.

13. [Hebei Province] Persecution Facts on Mr. Jiao Meishan

Practitioner Mr. Jiao Meishan lives in Shijiazhuang City and is an employee of the Shijiazhuang Pipe-molding Factory (formerly the Wok-molding Factory). On March 3, 2006, he was arrested, and his case was submitted to the Xinhua District Procuratorate of Shijiazhuang City. Officers in charge of his case are:

14. [Tianjin City] Names of Those Involved in Persecuting Mr. Wang Junyao and Mr. Zhang Wensheng

At around 10:00 a.m. on April 15, 2006, practitioner Mr. Wang Junyao was tricked into going to his workplace, the Materials Supply Center of Zhonghai Petroleum Service Company. Policemen from the Tanggu City Department, Nanjiang District Department and the Bohai Petroleum "610 Office" were waiting for him. They ransacked his office and his home, took his personal computer, cell phone, MP3 player, and address book and arrested him at 2:00 p.m., detaining him in the Bohai Petroleum Police Station. The same thing happened to practitioner Mr. Zhang Wensheng. Police took his office computer as well. Mr. Wang Junyao and Mr. Zhang Wensheng were both detained in the Tanggu Detention Center. Mr. Zhang Wensheng was released on April 18, 2006.

15. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Additional Information about the Arrests of Ms. An Shujun and Ms. Huihui

On the evening of April 14, 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. An Shujun went to visit fellow practitioner Ms. Huihui. They were both arrested by policemen from the Xiangfengdao Station (phone number 86-315-2030496) who were hiding out, and both of their homes were ransacked. They are now detained in the Tangshan City First Detention Center.

16. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Meng Fanquan Arrested

On the afternoon of April 18, 2006, practitioner Mr. Meng Fanquan was arrested at his workplace, the Hebei Institute of Technology in Tangshan City, by State Security agents of the Lubei District Police Department.

At around 3:00 p.m., policeman Chen Hong lead about six policemen and stormed into Mr. Meng Fanquan's home when only his 13-year-old child was there. They ransacked the place, taking personal possessions worth more than 10,000 yuan. Mr. Meng Fanquan is now detained in the Lubei District Police Department, and his family members have not been allowed to visit him yet.

17. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Zhang Jinsheng Arrested

Practitioner Mr. Zhang Jinsheng, 56, lives in the Wanbailin District of Taiyuan City. Around April 15, 2006, he was arrested by policemen from the Jiancaoping District Department. According to his neighbors, on April 13, policemen from Jiancaoping District forced his neighbors to help them ransack Mr. Zhang Jinsheng's home when no one was home. The policemen had the key. No one knows where Mr. Zhang Jinsheng is detained.

18. [Laifu City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qi Fuxiang Arrested

Practitioner Mr. Qi Fuxiang is a teacher employed by the Laifu Fourth High School. He was reported when talking to students about withdrawing from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. At 6:00 p.m. on April 4, 2006, Mr. Qi was arrested as he was returning to the school. Policemen from the Chengzipo Town Station in Steel Block District made the arrest. The police ransacked his home, took him to the station, and then sent him to the Laifu City Detention Center that same night. His friends and family members are trying very hard to rescue him but have heard that he may be sentenced to one year of forced labor despite originally thinking he would be released.

19. [Miyun County, Beijing City] Eight Practitioners Sent to Forced Labor

On April 13, 2006, practitioners in Miyun County, including Ms. Cao Shuwen, Ms. Gu Biqin, Ms. Li Fenglian, Ms. Yue Quanzhi, Ms. Ding Fengzhen, Ms. Rui Peiyin, and Ms. Luo Yuqin, were each sentenced to two years of forced labor; Mr. Wang Chengyao was sentenced to two and a half years forced labor.

20. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Pan Rujing Arrested

Practitioner Mr. Pan Rujing lives in the Dachang District of Nanjing City. He was arrested on the afternoon of April 5, 2006, while clarifying the truth, and more than ten unknown individuals ransacked his home the same night.

21. [Xiangfan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xiao Daoqin Arrested at Home

At around 11:00 a.m. on April 18, 2006, five policemen from the Gucheng County Department and several from the Xiangfan City 610 Office arrested practitioner Ms. Xiao Daoqin, who had just returned from grocery shopping. Ms. Xiao is an employee of the Xiangfan Cotton Factory. She was sent to the Gucheng County Police Department from the Jianghan Police Station, located in the Fanxi District, Xiangfan City, at 2:00 p.m. the same day.

At around 3:00 p.m. on April 17, 2006, policeman Zhang Yaoqin went to Ms. Xiao Daoqin's home to check if she was there.

22. [Chongqing City] Ms. Liu Anbin Sentenced to 18 Months of Forced Labor

State Security Agent Chen Shengrong and others had practitioner Ms. Liu Anbin sentenced to 18 months of forced labor. Ms. Liu is now detained in the Maojiashan Women's Forced Labor Camp, and her family has not been allowed to visit her since the end of last year.

23. [Jinzhou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Qiong Sent to Brainwashing Center

In April 2006, practitioner Ms. Wang Qiong went to pass out truth-clarifying materials in the Jinzhou City Police Department Compound. She was recognized by the Department Head (also the Political Judiciary Committee Secretary) Lei Zhongxi (male). Ms. Wang Qiong showed severe symptoms of illness when surrounded by policemen, so she was sent home on the same day. Lei Zhongxi ordered her arrest on April 12, 2006, and sent her to the Hubei Province Brainwashing Center located in Wuhan City.

24. [Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region] Mr. Chen Jiayi and Others Arrested

On the evening of April 11, 2006, 10 individuals from the Longtan Police Station of Yintan Town, Beihai City and the Longtan Village Administration, including Lin Huanxing, Lin Shaomin, Lin Yunchan, and Lin An, stormed into practitioner Ms. Feng Qiyue's home, arrested Mr. Chen Jiayi, Ms. Lao Kaimei, and eight other practitioners, and stole Falun Gong books and a stereo. They tried to force these practitioners to write "Guarantee Statements" in the Longtan Police Station and to slander Falun Gong and its teacher. The tenth book of Mind and Morals is one of Heilongjiang Province's Nine-Year Education textbooks. On pages 22-24, there is an article that severely slanders Falun Gong and Teacher Li. It includes the staged "Tiananmen Self-Immolation," with excerpts on Liu Siying and Chen Guo, two people involved in the incident, to mislead and poison students' minds.

1. [Hulunbeier City, Inner Mongolia] Latest News of Thirty Arrested Practitioners

On March 27, 2006, 13 police officials led by Ding Shaowei, the deputy director of Zhalantun Police Department, Hulunbeier City, searched the houses of "registered" Falun Gong practitioners of whom more than 30 were illegally arrested. These practitioners are being detained in the Nantou Detention Center in the Zhalantun District. Two of them were sent to the Arong Flag Detention Center.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Tian Yunhai Sentenced to Ten Years in Prison

It is reported that Mr. Tian Yunhai, who was abducted by Chen Xin and others, the police officials from the National Security Team of Dalian City, was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in July 2005 by Wang Jian, the Ganjingzi District prosecutor and Chen Jing and Wang Lijuan from the Ganjingzi District Court. They did not inform Mr. Tian's family. Mr. Tian had been on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. His current condition is unknown.

Based on reliable news sources, in the middle of the night on April 23, a dozen practitioners in Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province, were arrested. They are being detained in a Liaoyuan City detention center for further interrogation.

4. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Li Wenhua Protesting Persecution by Hunger Striking

Li Wenhua has been on a hunger strike for three days. He was arrested on April 17 and taken to the Xinjin Brainwashing Center.

Mr. Li was a practitioner in Jintang County, Sichuan Province. He went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in October 1999 and was detained for two months by the local government. Then he was sent to Zizhong Forced Labor Camp for one and half years for distributing truth clarifying materials. In 2004, he had to become homeless due to the continuing persecution. On April 17, 2006, officials Jie Ming and Huang Buming from the Vice Squad took Mr. Li to the Xinjin Brainwashing Center of Chengdu City.

8. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Minying Sentenced to Two Years' Forced Labor

Ms. Liu Minying, 59, lives by herself in Nanyuan in the Fengtai District. She was arrested around New Year's in 2006 and was recently sentenced to two years of forced labor. She is being persecuted in a forced labor camp in Daxing County.

9. [Luohe City, Henan Province] Mr. Wang Changshun and Ms. Cheng Suzhen Arrested

At about 4:00 p.m. on April 18, 2006, police officials led by Qiao Xueqian, Wu Lei and Li Xin from Luohe Police Department broke into Ms. Cheng Suzhen and Mr. Wang Changshun's houses and confiscated a desktop computer and a printer valued at 5000 yuan. Ms. Cheng Suzhen, Mr. Wang Changshun and Ms. Zhao Qiaofeng were taken away and detained.

10. [Anshan, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jin Caiyu and Her Daughters Arrested

On March 2, 2006, Anshan practitioner Ms. Jin Caiyu and her two daughters, Xiaohua and Xiaoai, were abducted by police from the Ertaizi Police Station. No further news about them is available.

11. [Leshan, Sichuan Province] Ms. Hu Chunhua and Her Husband, Mr. Zhou Lingjun, Held in a Detention Center

At 7:00 p.m., on April 18, 2006, the 610 Office of Qianfo Town, Jingyan County, Leshan City, Sichuan Province, and local police broke into Mr. Zhou Lingjun and Ms. Hu Chunhua's house, confiscated their personal belongings, and took the couple away, leaving only Mr. Zhou's 80-year-old mother and 13-year-old daughter. Presently, the couple is in the Jinyan County Detention Center. The couple is very nice and make their living cutting hair.

12. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Mr. He Sanpu Detained for Nine Months

On the morning of July 11, 2005, Zhengzhou practitioner Mr. He Sanpu was arrested by the National Security Bureau and the Henan Newspaper Group on the street. Now he is being detained in the Wanqing Villa Brainwashing Center, Xiliu Lake, Zhengzhou City. It has been nine months. Mr. He went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention by the Henan Newspaper Group.

Huhehaote practitioner Mr. Pang Ji went missing when he was distributing truth materials on March 28, 2006. Now it has been learned that he was abducted by Haoqinyingzi Township, Xincheng District, officials. His family got an anonymous call that said that they could see Mr. Pang if they paid 10,000 yuan in cash.

Instead, they asked for 5000 yuan from his family for medical treatment.

Recently, Mr. Wang Zhanshan was sentenced to one year forced labor by Jiaohe Police Department. The police department refused to tell his family members where he was detained.

17. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yu Chunxiang's Term Was Illegally Extended by Masanjia Forced Labor Camp

Dalian practitioner Ms. Yu Chunxiang was sentenced to two years of forced labor just because she was steadfast in her practice of Falun Gong. She was detained in the Masanjia Forced Labor camp and her term was due to expire on April 20, 2006. Her family members went to the camp to ask for her release, but the authorities refused to set her free and claimed that her term had been extended.

On April 22, 2006, several practitioners, including Lu Chunyun, went to the outskirts of Liaoyuan City to distribute truth clarification material and were arrested.

19. [Hulunbeier City, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Yang Jitang Sentenced to Three Years' Imprisonment

Mr. Yang Jitang, a practitioner at Hailaer, EwenkeFlag, Hulunbeir City, Inner Mongolia, was sentenced to three years imprisonment.

20. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Sun Yi Abducted and Sent to a Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Sun Yi, a teacher at Harbin Medicinal University, was reported when he clarified the truth at a class in Orient College. At 11:30 p.m., on March 10, 2006, police led by Zhang Xiumin from Nan'gang Police Substation broke into Mr. un's house and took him away. Recently, he was sentenced to one and half years forced labor and was detained in the Wanjia Forced Labor camp.

21. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Liu Jiting Remains in Custody

Husband and wife Liu Jiting and Fu Huajing, both of whom are Falun Gong Practitioners, were arrested on March 6 and imprisoned in the Shijiazhuang Second Detention Center, where they were persecuted. Ms. Fu Huajing has been released.

22. [Beidaihe, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Jianhua Imprisoned in Tiebei Prison in Meihekou City

Ms. Wang Jianhua, 45 years old, is a former resident of the Beidaihe region in Hebei Province. After going to Beijing to appeal to the government in 2000, she was imprisoned and sent to a brainwashing center. Policemen threatened her husband that he would be fired if he stayed with Ms. Wang and forced him into leaving her. After Ms. Wang was forced into exile, she returned to her hometown of Meihekou City in Jilin Province and started a small business selling vegetables on the roadside. She has also been persevering in clarifying the truth.

It is unknown when spies first began to follow and videotape Ms. Wang. At around 7 pm on March 15, 2006, while she was pushing her trolley of vegetables home, she was followed and arrested by the city 610 Office and the police department. She is in the Tiebei Prison in Meihekou City and her family members are forbidden to visit her.

23. [Chongqing] Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Xie Xinglan's Whereabouts Remains Unknown After Three Months

Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Xie Xinglan, approximately 40 years old from Fengdu County, Chongqing City, disappeared end of March and has not been seen since. It is believed that she was stalked and secretly abducted while clarifying the truth. Her whereabouts is currently unknown.

24. [Hebei Province] Shijiazhuang City Police Department Harasses Falun Gong Practitioners

At around 6 a.m. on April 21, Shijiazhuang Police Department, Yuhua Police Station, and several other detention centers dispatched a large group of policemen to Ms. Chen Ping's home, located on the first floor of Building 3, the Dormitory of  the 4th Thermoelectric Factory, Kuian Road. They demanded that she open her door, using the excuse that there are strangers living in her home. When she refused, they began forcing their way in but Ms. Chen firmly criticized them. She resisted them with her righteous thoughts and the policemen left, outraged.

On another morning, a similar group of people went to Ms. Hua Fengxiang's house on Fuqiangda Street and even claimed that they had a search warrant. They wanted to look for a Shandong Falun Gong practitioner. Ms. Hua was not at home and this group of "people's policemen" jammed the burglar alarm, pulled out the electricity to scare a few children who were at home, and shamelessly claimed that they were just doing their job. The kids immediately dialed 110 for the police and also called their neighbors for help. Finally, when this group of policemen sensed that something had gone wrong, they fled.

25. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners including Mr. Xin Wenhua Arrested by Police

Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Xin Wenhua from the Dezhou City Xinhua Publishing House was arrested by policemen on April 12. Two other workers from the People's Hospital and one member of the Railroad Family House--a total of four people--were arrested.

26. [Shandong Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Zhao Jing Arrested by Police Department from Huantai County, Zibo City

Around 4:30 p.m. on April 19, 2006, Bian Qing and Kou Zubao, Team Leaders of the Zibo City Huantai County Police Department National Protection Team, together with policemen from the Dongguan, Nanguan and Beiguan Detention Centers in Zichuan District, lead their gang to abduct 25 year old Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Zhao Jing. Ms. Zhao Jing is currently imprisoned in the Zibo City Women's Detention Center.

27. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] A Falun Gong Practitioner Reported to the Authorities and Abducted while Clarifying the Truth in Conghua City.

Recently, a Falun Gong Practitioner traveled to a remote village in Aotou Town, Conghua City, northeast of Guangzhou city to clarify the truth. However, he was rounded up by villagers and abducted. Then he was transferred to a police station. Everyone who reported the practitioner to the authorities each received 1,000 yuan as a reward.

28. [Hebei Province] Supplementary Information Regarding the Arrest of Qinhuangdao College Teacher Mr. Hua Zhikai.

Practitioner Mr. Hua Zhikai is an instructor at a technical college in Qinhuangdao. On the afternoon of April 21, the Qinhuangdao National Protection Team with the Yufengli Police Station collaborated with Ye Jun's accomplices from the college's protection unit to check whether Mr. Hua had been "transformed." Without any legal procedures, without notifying his family members, and without the knowledge by any of his colleagues, Mr. Hua was taken away and his home raided afterwards.

According to sources, Mr. Hua has been secretly moved to Baoding and illegally sentenced to a year of imprisonment in a labor camp.

29. [Hubei Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Zhang Zhiying Arrested by 610 Office and Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Zhang Zhiying, Falun Gong practitioner from Hongan City, Hubei Province, was arrested by the 610 Office on April 13, 2006, and sent to the Hongshan District Brainwashing Center in Wuhan City.

30. [Ziyang City, Sichuang Province] Ms. Cai Huaying and Ms. Zhao Yuxia Arrested

On April 20, 2006, two practitioners Ms. Cai Huaying and Ms. Zhao Yuhua from Nanche Corporation, Ziyang City, Sichuan Province, were arrested while distributing truth clarification materials.

31. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Han Shuhua's Family Blackmailed by Police Officials After Her Arrest

After practitioner Ms. Han Shuhua was arrested, she was detained in the Yaojia Detention Center, Room 7 or 8. The police used this opportunity to blackmail her family members for money, but the family refused to cooperate. Around 2001, while Ms. Han Shuhua was illegally imprisoned in a labor camp, the policemen had extorted 10,000 yuan from her family, promising to release her. They never did. This time, knowing that the police were trying to deceive them, Ms. Han's family firmly resisted the corrupt methods employed by the police.

In October 2004, 60-year-old Mr. Han Xinji from Yingzi Village, Fujia Town, Zhangdian District, also a retiree from Shengli Oil Field, was arrested by policemen while distributing truth clarification flyers. He was illegally sentenced to forced labor for two years. He was first sent to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp.

34. [Shandong Province] Ms. Li Dehua and Ms. Li Shiying Arrested by Policemen from Zhangqiu

On April 14, 2006, Ms. Li Dehua and Ms. Li Shiying from Duozhuang Town, Zhangqiu City, Shandong Province, were arrested by policemen for clarifying the truth. Ms. Li Shiying was fined 2,000 yuan and released on the same day. Ms. Li Dehua has been detained in the Zhangqiu Detention Center.

35. [Hebei Province] Ms. Hou Guiqin Arrested from Home

At around 9 a.m. on April 20, 2006, shortly after a phone call from Luo Xuemei, the director of the Yanshan Community Council in Haigang District, four plainclothes policemen appeared outside practitioner Ms. Xue Lihua's house. Practitioner Ms. Hou Guiqin was also at Ms. Xue's place at the time. Two police cars arrived. At noon, they had their lunch from lunch boxes inside the car. At around 1 p.m. when Ms. Hou walked out of the house, the policemen rushed towards her and pulled her into the car by brute force. After she was taken away, the police continued to monitor Ms. Xue's place until approximately 7 p.m. when they left. Ms. Hou's house was broken into and ransacked. Her husband persevered in asking the police to release his wife, and she was finally released at night.

36. [Guang'an City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Peng Shiqiong's Situation Remains Unknown After Her Arrest

Ms. Peng Shiqiong and Ms. Zhang Fuyu, practitioners from Huaying, Guang'an City, Sichuan Province, were arrested by the Chongqing 610 Office on September 28, 2005.

Ms. Zhang has already been sent to a labor camp. Sources say that she has been sentenced to 15 months. Ms. Peng's whereabouts remain unknown since her arrest.

37. [Guangdong Province] Facts on the Persecution of Practitioners by the Guangdong Yuedian Group Co Ltd.

The Guangdong Yuedian Group Co., Ltd. is a state-owned enterprise whose leader has been actively following the Chinese Communist Party's evil policy of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. He has laid out several implication policies and organized many activities to clear out and defame Falun Gong practitioners in the company's factories. He has also persistently refused to allow practitioners to work.

Currently, there are two practitioners in the Maoming electrical factory who have been illegally sentenced to imprisonment. Worker Ke Jingji was sentenced to seven years while retiree Ms. Li Fengdi was reported to the National Protection Team by the Retiree Office Chief for clarifying the truth to the retired office workers in October 2005. Her home was broken into and ransacked by the National Protection Team. She was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment by the sham Maoming People's Courts. Another worker, Mr. Wei Jinjiang, was arrested in 2005 while clarifying the truth. His office supervisors collaborated with the National Protection team, breaking into his house and sentencing him to two years of forced labor. After Mr. Wei managed to walk out in 2006, his company claimed he was under house detention and refused to let him return to work. Mr. Wei's father is disabled and his mother is unemployed. Without Mr. Wei's job, they have no source of income at all.

38. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Supplementary Information Regarding the Arrest of Mr. Li Qiaosong

Mr. Li Qiaosong, a practitioner from Guangzhou City, was followed and arrested while doing errands in Maoming City. He is currently imprisoned in the First Detention Center and has begun a hunger strike to appeal against persecution by the authorities.

39. [Liangshan County, Shandong Province] 610 Office Participates in the Arrest of Mr. Qin Yuchun

Mr. Qin Yuchun, a practitioner from Zhongtan Village, Zhaogudui Township, Liangshan County, Shandong Provinced was "llegally arrested" by the local police. His house was also broken into.

From 8:50 p.m. to 9:20 p.m. on April 22, the Xuanhua Television Channel in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, broadcast many Falun Gong-defaming programs and will repeat the programs on April 23. Higher-ranking officials have requested that secondary and elementary school students watch the programs. It has already been implemented.
