  • Ms. Ding Guixiang, 70, from Jilin Province Dies as a Result of Persecution

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ding Guixiang from Lishu County, Jilin Province had been detained multiple times, threatened for many years, and harassed repeatedly. She died on August 27, 2006.

Ms. Ding Guixiang, 71, lived in Xiaochengzi Town, Lishu County, Jilin Province. Prior to 2002, she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was twice taken to and detained in Lishu County Detention Center by Xiaochengxi Local Police Station.

Upon her release prior to 2002, Ms. Ding was forced to become homeless in order to avoid being illegally arrested at home. She was reported when posting a hand-written banner that said "Falun Dafa is Good." She was forcibly taken to and detained in Gongzhuling Prison for ten months without any legal justification.

After Ms. Ding was released, local police continually came to her door to harass and threaten her. Once a police officer found a younger lady's clothes in her house. The police officer tried to force the old lady to say that clothes belonged to a younger fellow practitioner, and tried to make her provide the name. Ms. Ding did not cooperate with the police officer's abhorrent actions. She was sentenced to one year of forced labor, and served her term in Heizuizi Women's Labor Camp located in Changchun City when she was nearly 70 years old.

Due to the length of time she was mistreated, threatened, and tortured, Ms. Ding Guixiang died on August 27, 2006.

With Orders to "Transform or Beat to Death", Guards Torture Falun Gong Practitioners in Shaanxi Province Women's Forced Labor Camp

Guards in Shaanxi Province Women's Forced Labor Camp persecute practitioners by force-feedings, beatings, and "Straightjackets" (1). Early in 2000, on the second floor of the camp, a practitioner in her 60's (name unknown) was force-fed while holding a hunger strike. Guards violently forced a feeding tube into her trachea resulting in her death. Inmates used wooden boards to carry her body out of the camp and left her by the front gate. A white car took her body away.

Many practitioners were tortured. Ms. Chen Chuner was injected with poison while being force-fed. Practitioners Ms. Ma Yuhua and Ms. Li Cuifang faces swelled up and blood flowed from their mouths and noses during the force-feeding, as their painful cries tore at the hearts of those nearby. Ms. Wang Jie and Ms. Li Cuifang were handcuffed behind their backs for 50 days. Ms. Liang Hongxian was cuffed and hung from the door frame with only her toes barely touching the ground, and the police chief directed her elderly mother to kneel on the snow to force her to "transform." Due to the severe beatings Ms. Qu Xianru suffered a mental collapse. Her dentures fell out during the torture and were broken into pieces. Ms. Mei Hongying sustained a cerebral concussion after she was beaten by police with batons and blood flowed from the head wound. Ms. Gao Li's back was broken due to torture.

In the year 2001, the wicked dictator Jiang Zemin came to Xi'an and allocated 800,000 yuan to the Women's Forced Labor Camp for the "transformation" of Falun Gong practitioners. If they refused to be "transformed," they were ordered to be beaten to death. Many practitioners were beaten so severely that they finally gave in. Those in the labor camp who refused to be "transformed" would be tortured with "Straightjackets." One would be in extreme pain after wearing this restraining garment. The whole body was immobilized, with the hands cuffed behind the back. All body excrement would be retained within the garment.

At the end of 2002, Ms. Liu Aiying was sent to a prison hospital with broken ribs, bruises all over her body and her face distorted beyond recognition. The police had male inmates force-feed her. Due to bleeding from her mouth and nose it became impossible to force-feed her. Ms. Sun Yuncheng was force-fed more than 20 times. Ms. Zhang Jinlan was injected with a substance which caused her to become completely paralyzed and unconscious.

    Note:

    (1) "Straightjackets" - The straightjackets, made of fine canvas, are put on the victim from the front and tightened from behind the back. The sleeves are about 10 inches longer than the victim's arms, with straps on them. The perpetrators force steadfast Falun Gong practitioners to wear the straitjackets, pull their arms behind their backs, and then cross and tie their arms behind their backs. Then they pull their arms up over their shoulders to the front of their chest, tie up the practitioners' legs and hang them up in the air from the windows. At the same time, they gag practitioners' mouths with cloth, put earphones in their ears and continuously play messages that slander Falun Gong. According to an eyewitness account, people who suffer this torture quickly sustain broken arms, tendons, shoulders, wrists and elbows. Those who endure this torture for a long time have completely broken spines, and they die in agonizing pain. See one such case at /emh/articles/2003/11/1/41857.html.
