  • Mr. Ma Minqing from Guangzhou City Arrested and His Wife Sentenced to Forced Labor

In the city of Guangzhou in Guangdong Province, Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Ma Minqing and his wife, Ms. Zheng Jie'er, had been forced into homelessness for some time. They were the main targets of persecution that the Police Department of Yuexiu District had focused on. Ms. Zheng Jie'er was arrested on July 23, 2006, and was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor. The same office arrested Mr. Ma Minqing on October 8, 2006.

Back in 2001, the 610 Office from Yuexiu District plotted to arrest Mr. Ma and have him confined to a Brainwashing Center, but he managed to escape. Later on he and his wife were forced to become homeless, and Guangzhou City 610 Office and National Security agents set their sights on arresting them.

At 2 p.m. on July 23, 2006, Ms. Zheng went outside to call her family and did not return. Twenty-four hours later, the Police Department of Yuexiu District informed her family that she was in the custody of the Tianpingjia Detention Center, a police station in Yuexiu District. On July 26, family members went to Tianpingjia Detention Center to ask for her release, but they were denied. Instead, she was sentenced to two years in Guangzhou Chatou Forced Labor Camp.

On the afternoon of October 8, the police arrested Mr. Ma Minqing while he was on his way to do some shopping. The next day his family received a phone call from the police saying that he had been arrested and was being held at a police station. When asked which police station he was in, the answer was: "I don't know."

Aying, Mr. Ma Minqing's mother and also a practitioner, was held in Sanshui Women's Forced Labor Camp for a year for distributing truth-clarifying materials in 2002. According to informed sources, she disappeared after October 10, 2006. It is thought that she may have been rounded up by National Security Agents. Many practitioners have recently been arrested.

Falun Gong Practitioners Tortured at Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp, Changsha City, Hunan Province

Since Jiang's regime started persecuting Falun Gong in 1999, Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp in Changsha City, Hunan Province, has illegally detained many Falun Gong practitioners. The police and others manipulated by the CCP have done terrible things. Practitioners are severely tortured in that place every day. The following are a few examples.

Mr. Zeng Zhaoqin, in his 50s, has been detained in forced labor camps twice. He was threatened and ordered to write the three statements and material that slandered Falun Gong right after arriving at the camp. He tried to clarify the facts to Mr. He, the head of his labor group, by telling him about the positive changes he experienced after practicing Falun Gong. Mr. Zeng also told him, "I will never write the statements even if I die." Mr. He ordered several prisoners, including the leader of the "squeeze control" team, a member of the "squeeze control," and a guard on duty. They took turns trying to force Mr. Zeng to write the three statements. When he refused, they forced him to stand upright with his hands touching his legs. Then they placed a piece of paper between his legs. If the piece of paper fell, the prisoners beat him. The constant physical punishment was so severe that he could no longer endure it. After half a month of torture, with no physical strength remaining, two "squeeze controllers" held Mr. Zeng's right hand and forced him to copy the "three statements" prepared beforehand. After a few more months of torture, he could hardly stand and could only walk slowly while holding onto something.

There was another elderly practitioner who was forced to write the three statements under the same circumstances. He was transferred to District A and detained in a cell. There were also five to six practitioners detained there. Each one of them was monitored by one "squeeze controller" and the practitioners could not talk to each other. If they did, the "squeeze controllers" would beat them. This elderly practitioner saw the words, "Your Crime: Falun Gong" written on his bed. He secretly erased the word "crime" but was later caught by prison guards. He was verbally abused and put under a lot of mental hardship. Although he did not write the three statements willingly, he felt he betrayed Master.

One day he told the deputy head of the prison group, a man named Dou, to cancel the three statements. Dou became furious and immediately told him to rewrite the statements to review his "mistakes." The practitioner refused and was forced to sit on a small stool as a punishment. It is very uncomfortable sitting on a small stool, and the buttocks soon fester. The practitioner asked for some water, but Dou refused. He said, "Didn't you say you wanted to cancel the three statements? We will cancel drinking as well." The practitioner asked for permission to go to the bathroom, and Dou refused as well. He said, "Didn't you say you wanted to cancel the three statements? Then you have to cancel going to the bathroom, too." The "squeeze controllers" took turns, monitoring him in three shifts. The practitioner was forbidden to sleep for the entire day, except from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m. After a long period of torture, he was so sleepy that he would fall asleep while eating. After seven days and nights of torture, he unwillingly wrote a "regret statement" when he could no longer tolerate the torture and was released to District A half a month later.

Mr. Zhang Xianzhao, also in his 60s, refused to cooperate when they forced him to watch the fabricated self-immolation video and other videotapes used to "transform" practitioners. He also refused to write the three statements. He was then transferred from District B to District C. District C is the most evil district, used to specifically persecute Falun Gong practitioners. There was nothing in the room and he could only stand. After over 20 days of the standing punishment, he wrote the statements when he could no longer tolerate the torture. He was then transferred back to District B and eventually released after being constant torture.

Another practitioner was almost chocked to death after he yelled, "Falun Dafa is good!" His throat became swollen and could not eat for a long time. He could not look after himself and could not control his bodily functions. His ear also festered and became infected after being yanked. He was tortured until he became paralyzed and needed injections to survive. Only then was he released.

Another Falun Gong assistant, in his 40s, was sentenced to two years of forced labor. He became so thin after constant torture that he could hardly stand.

Mr. Liu Heqing, in his 30s, had previously escape from the forced labor camp. Unfortunately, he was again sentenced to forced labor in March 2005. He was beaten after he yelled, "Falun Dafa is good!" He fainted and was carried to a closed room. When he came to, he started yelling, "Falun Dafa is goo!" He continued to yell when others were eating. Those in charge handcuffed him and punched his chest and stomach. All of his teeth fell out after the beating. Although he was beaten with sticks and electric batons, he still yelled, "Falun Dafa is good!" They used a long needle to puncture his tongue, pulled a threaded needle through it, and tied the thread to a weight. After that horrific torture, Mr. Liu could no longer talk nor look after himself. He became mentally unstable.

The above cases were collected from the experiences of several illegally detained practitioners. The practitioners who reported their experiences were themselves incarcerated, so their understanding of the overall situation is limited. The crimes that the Chinese Communist Party have committed are too brutal and too severe to be adequately recorded.

Supplementary Information Regarding the Death of Wen Yingxin

    Previous report: /emh/articles/2006/8/30/77492.html

At about 3 p.m. on August 7, 2006, Wen Yingxin, a Falun Gong practitioner from Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, was reported to the authorities when he was posting Falun Gong material in Xiaobei Community, Dadong District, Shenyang City. Afterwards he was taken away by the police officers from the Xiaobei Police Station. On August 8, he was sent to the Shenyang City Detention Center.

Since that day, Wen Yingxin has been on a hunger strike to protest. From August 8 to August 16, he was force-fed in the Shenyang City Detention Center. On August 16, he was tortured until critically ill and was sent to the Shenyang City No. 739 Hospital, which is the contract clinic of the Shenyang City Detention Center. To shirk their responsibility, the detention center pushed him away to the Xiaobei Police Station under the pretext that his records were not transferred to the detention center. At about 5 p.m. on the day he was sent to the hospital, his family was notified by the Police Station. When his family members rushed to the hospital, they found that Wen Yingxin was lying on the sickbed with an oxygen tube. The electrocardiogram demonstrated a flat line. He lost consciousness and passed away at 10 p.m..

The Shenyang City Detention Center, the Xiaobei Police Station, and the No. 739 Hospital

refused to give his family a Medical Certificate. The hospital only asked them to sign the written death notice. On the notice, it stated an ion disorder and renal failure resulting in death.

On the night he died, his remains were sent to the Wenguantun Funeral Parlor under the arrangement of the police. They were there for more than 20 days. The police paid the fee of more than 1000 yuan.

During the 20 days, his relatives went to the Shenyang Detention Center to seek justice. A guard received them. He avoided discussion of Wen Yingxin's force-feeding in the detention center, and just showed a videotape recorded by the monitor inside the cell. The tape was pieced together after editing, so they could not find any clue from that. The detention center authorities claimed that Wen Yingxin died in the hospital, so they do not bear any responsibility, and they cannot be charged.

Under threats from police officers and guards, Wen Yingxin's remains were cremated at the beginning of September.

The Persecution of a Peasant Woman in Tianjin City

Note: The following is a shortened version of a longer and more detailed article that appeared on the Minghui.org website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net)

Practitioner Ms. Li Qinglian, female, 63, lived in Xiawuqi/Tianxinzhuang Village, Wuqing District of Tianjin City. On October 18, 2000, Ms. Li Qinglian went to Tiananmen Square in Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was arrested and taken to a police station where she was first monitored and later transferred to a detention center. She was held there for half a month. In December 2000 and on January 15, 2001, she went to Beijing again to appeal for Falun Gong, but she was found and arrested. She was taken to and held in a detention center. After she was released home from the detention center, Li Sen (male) and Liu Wang (male) were sent by township officials to her home to harass her, and attempted to force her to write a Guarantee Statement to give up the practice of Falun Gong.

On March 3, 2001, the CCP Central Government was having a meeting in Beijing City. Ms. Li Qinglian was taken to a brainwashing center in the local township where she was monitored continuously for five days. On March 8, 2001, she was taken to the plum factory brainwashing center. Police applied all types of means to physically torture her.

Since Ms. Li Qinglian refused to give up the practice of Falun Gong, she was taken to a detention center on April 15, 2001. On May 21, 2001, she was taken to the Banqiao Forced Labor Camp. On June 1, 2001, she was taken to the Jianxin Forced Labor Camp, where the evil beings tried all types of brutal torture methods, such as beating, cursing, strenuous physical labor, as well as other types of corporal punishment.

By March 2003, due to the evil persecution, Ms. Li Qinglian suffered from hypertension, and on March 18, 2003, she had a stroke. The authorities had to take her to the hospital for emergency rescue. When they had no other choice, they finally let her family members take her home. Ms. Li has become handicapped due to the severe torture and can no longer take care of herself. Despite this, the forced labor camp still sent people to "have conversations" with her. The local town government and the village CCP officials still constantly monitor her secretly. Ms. Li Qinglian still refuses to cooperate with them.
