  • Ms. Lu Yanfang, 60, Persecuted to Death by Police from Nancheng Police Station of Shulan City, Jilin Province

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Lu Yanfang from Shulan City, Jilin Province died on October 10, 2006 due to persecution by police from the Nancheng Police Station. Before her death, she had to leave home to escape the persecution. That night, police officers from the Nancheng Police Station and staff from the Shulan City National Security Group illegally arrested practitioners Mr. Zhang Zhonghua, Mr. Zhao Yiguang and Mr. Zhao's wife and ransacked their homes.

Ms. Lu Yanfang was about 60 years old. She went to Beijing twice to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong after the persecution began on July 20, 1999. Police officers stopped her when she reached Beijing the second time and illegally held her for fifteen days. In March 2002, she was again held for fifteen days. On March 11, 2003, policeman Jiang Zehang from the Nancheng Police Station went to her home to harass her and found some truth-clarifying materials. He then brought several police to ransack her home and confiscated many Falun Gong books and truth-clarifying materials. To avoid being harassed, Ms. Lu was forced to leave home and become destitute. Her young son was left alone at home without anyone to care for him. He had to look for a part-time job to support himself.

In May 2006, Ms. Lu's whereabouts were reported to authorities; she was forced to leave the place where she was staying. The police from Shulan City searched for her, claiming to help her son look for a job. They staked out places she might be visiting and searched everywhere for her. They even searched in the mountains. To avoid arrest, Ms. Lu had to walk dozens of miles in the mountains during the night. Because of this tremendous mental and physical pressure, she became ill and died on October 10.

On the evening of October 10, 2006, the police chief and two police officers from the Nancheng Police Station broke into practitioner Mr. Zhang Zhonghua's home. They ransacked his home and confiscated many of his personal belongings. Later, they arrested Mr. Zhang and detained him at the Nanshan Detention Center. That night, a dozen police officers from Shulan City Police Department and Nancheng Police Station broke into practitioner Mr. Zhao Yiguang's home and arrested him and his wife. Mr. Zhao's wife had a heart attack and was taken to a hospital. Police extorted 3,000 yuan before they released her. Mr. Zhao is still being held at the Nanshan Detention Center in Shulan City.

In July 2006, staff from the Shulan City 610 Office, the National Security Group, local police station, and the Security section of the Jishu Mining Bureau joined forces and arrested Shulan City practitioners Zhu Yijia, Cao Guiru, Ping Chen, Li Xiuling, Hu Tianchi, Chen Qinglan, and others, and took them to the Xiangshui Reservoir Brainwashing Center in Jishu Township, Shulan City.

Ms. Wang Xiaoyan Is Jailed in Forced Labor Camp and Cannot Join Her Husband in Germany

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Xiaoyan lives in Dalian City, Liaoning Province. Her passport was confiscated by police officers because she practices Falun Gong, blocking her from coming to Germany. She is now detained in the Second Branch of  Masanjia Forced Labor Camp located in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province.

On May 27, 2006, Ms. Wang Xiaoyan was arrested and her home was ransacked by police from the Chunhai Station. She has not been allowed visitation ever since. She called home for the first time last week, and said that she is now being detained in the Second Branch of Masanjia Labor Camp on a two-year term. Details of her situation over the past five months are unknown.

Below are documents that the Dalian City police issued, which prove that the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) is torturing people with forced labor terms just because they practice Falun Gong. The police are deceitful and say that Falun Gong practitioners "interfere with the social order," but they in fact do not have any legal grounds for detaining practitioners.

Reportedly, Ms. Wang Xiaoyan was sent to Masanjia Labor Camp on July 14, 2006 by police officer Dong Liang (male) and others from Chunhai Station.

The Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in Suizhou City, Hubei Province

Falun Gong Practitioners are Being Illegally Detained

Mr. Gong Huatao, 29, was a teacher at the Wenfeng Middle School in the Zengdu District, Suizhou City. He went to Beijing to appeal and clarify the truth in 1999. He was arrested and taken to the No. 1 Detention Center where he was savagely beaten. He was again arrested along with his wife Wang Li at a Falun Gong materials production site on April 4, 2002 and detained at Anlu. The couple was later sentenced to eight years in prison and they are now held at the Wuhan Prison.

Ms. Wang Li is in her 20s and comes from Lishan Town, Suizhou City. She was detained at the No. 2 Detention Center in March for more than a month. She was arrested along with her husband Gong Huatao on April 4, 2002, and they were sentenced to seven years in prison. They are now held at Wuhan Prison.

Mr. Ge Xinshan is in his 50s and worked at Suizhou City Cotton Factory. He was held at the No. 1 Detention Center and the No. 2 Detention Center many times in March 2000, and in 2001 and 2002. He was arrested again by local police in November 2004 and was sentenced to two years of forced labor. He is currently being held at the Shayang Labor Camp.

Ms. Li Fengai is in her 50s. She was arrested and detained many times by Suizhou City 610 Office agents in March and July of 2000, and in October 2002. Her husband divorced her after the first detention. Her father, who was in his 70s, passed away after living under tremendous pressure. The Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) slanderous film was being shown in movie theaters throughout the country. She went to a local theater to send forth righteous thoughts but the police arrested her. She was sentenced to three years of forced labor and is being held at the Shayang Forced Labor Camp.

Ms. Wei Xiaoping, 36, lives in the Zengdu District. Suizhou local 610 Office agents sent her to the No. 2 Detention Center in 1999 and again in 2000. The same agents arrested her in the street in May 2001 and detained her at No. 1 Detention Center for more than six months. They again sent her to the No. 1 Detention Center in October 2002 and later transferred her to a brainwashing class at the No. 2 Detention Center. The 610 Office agents coerced her husband's employers to pay a 2,000 yuan "brainwashing fee."

A group of Falun Gong practitioners soon went on a hunger strike and refused to cooperate with the perpetrators, but they weren't released until after the Sixteenth Party Congress. More than ten practitioners were sent to the brainwashing class. Following their release, the 610 Office agents arrested several of them and sent them to the Shayang Forced Labor Camp and to the Dengken Forced Labor Reeducation Farm.

Wei Xiaoping left her four-year-old daughter and went into exile to avoid arrest. She was arrested in another city in 2005 and was sentenced to three years of forced labor. She is now being held in Wuhan City.

Falun Gong Practitioners Who Died Under the Persecution

Ms. Qian Jingjing, 18, lived at Suizhou City Bus Factory. She and her mother went to Beijing on July 20, 1999 to clarify the truth but were brought back to Suizhou City. She was arrested again in Xiangfan City, Hubei Province on April 7, 2004. She was handcuffed and shackled and also given injections. On December 2004, her lower limbs began swelling. She passed away a year later, in December 2005.

Ms. Chu Zhongping, 40, lived in Suizhou City. She started practicing Falun Gong in 1995. She was arrested at a park on July 22, 1999, after she appealed at the provincial government. Six police officers from Wuhan City beat her throughout the night. She was later transferred to the No. 2 Detention Center. Ms. Chu was again arrested in April 2001 when clarifying the truth in Shuanghe Town, Yunyang, Suizhou City. She was transferred this time to the No. 1 Detention Center the next day. The persecutors eventually sentenced her to 18 months of forced labor. Ms. Chu was sent to the Shayang Forced Labor Camp. She was extremely weak and as a result was transferred back to the No. 2 Detention Center in Suizhou City where she was detained for eight months. After her release, officers from the Yunyang Police Station typically arrested her on holidays. She passed away on August 30, 2003.

Mr. Li Changjun was born in 1968 and had lived in Suizhou City. He was expelled from his work by Wuhan City Local Tax Bureau officials for persisting in Falun Gong practice. After July 1999, he was arrested and detained in many places including Beijing, Suizhou, and Wuhan. He was arrested in Wuhan with certain other Falun Gong practitioners on May 16, 2001, when making truth clarification materials. Mr. Li was held at a police station in Wuhan where he was barbarically tortured. He held a hunger strike to protest the mistreatment. Li Changjun died on the evening of June 27, 2001, after more than forty days of savage torture. When viewing his body, his family noticed his emaciated appearance and that his face and neck were black and blue, his teeth were loosen and his face was disfigured. The flesh on his back looked as if it had been cooked in boiling water.

Ms. Wu Mingfang was in her 30s when she died. Police arrested her when she was hanging Falun Gong banners in a street in May 2002. She was detained at the No. 2 Detention Center. She protested the persecution with a hunger strike and was released fifteen days later. She never fully recovered and died after one month. She left behind a ten-year-old daughter.

Mr. Liang Haifeng was in his 60s and had lived in Wanhe Town, Suizhou City. He was reported when doing the exercises at home. Officers from the Wanhe Town Police Station ransacked his home and took all of his Falun Gong books and private belongings. They detained him for a few days and threatened him, ordering him to stop practicing Falun Gong. He passed away in February 2003.

Ms. Hu Fuying, 72, came from Yingcheng City, Hubei Province. She had lived at a residential compound affiliated with the Suizhou City Farm Machinery Management Bureau in Hubei Province. She began practicing Falun Gong in1995 and had gone to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in December 2000. She was arrested and taken to the Chaoyang Branch of the Beijing Police Department from where she was soon released. Local police arrested her son and daughter in 2001, which traumatized her. In this case, the corrupt officials at the Yingcheng Police Department connived with lawless officers at the Xicheng Police Station in Suizhou City. They went to her home to harass her. She could no longer live in peace. Local police again arrested her youngest son in December 2001 when he clarified the truth of Falun Gong. He is being detained in the Shayang Labor Camp to this day. When Ms. Hu heard this, she went to the Yingcheng Police Department to urge the police to release her son. At that time, because Ms. Hu suffered from extreme psychological pain and absentmindedness, she was hit by a three-wheeled cart in Yingcheng City. After returning home following the 2001 incident she passed away in July 2003.

Ms. Yuan Anhua, 54, lived in the rear living area of Tieshu Group, Suizhou City. She started practicing Falun Gong in 1997. By following the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance, both her body and mind benefited significantly from the practice. When the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, along with other practitioners, Ms. Yuan had planned to go to Beijing to peacefully appeal. On her way to Beijing police intercepted her and took her back to Suizhou City and detained her in the Baiyunshan Detention Center. She was then taken back by security personnel from her employer. In June 2001, she again peacefully appealed for Falun Gong in Beijing. She has participated in validating Falun Gong continuously since then. Suffering from on-going psychological pressure, she passed away on August 29, 2003.

Ms. Shang Chuancui, 49, was a former spouse of an employee of the Tieshu Group, Suizhou City. After she started practicing Falun Gong in late 1995 she had effortlessly recovered from all her ailments. After the Jiang regime started persecuting Falun Gong practitioners across China, along with others, Ms. Shang planned to go to Beijing to peacefully appeal for Falun Gong. Local police detained her on her way to the Wuhan Railway Station. The head of the Xicheng Police Station in Suizhou City, surnamed Zhang, and persons from the security team at the Tieshu Group took her away again. She was detained in the Suizhou Second Detention Center for ten weeks. Following her release she was continuously harassed by local corrupt officials in her own home. Having been traumatized from the on-going psychological pressure, she passed away in January 2005.

Ms. Xu Baodi, 65, was a retiree of the Tieshu Group, Suizhou City. She started Falun Gong practice in January 1996. Following that, she recovered from all her illnesses and felt very good. After the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, her old ailments frequently reappeared. She attributed that to the fact that the normal practicing environment for Falun Gong practitioners to practice and study the Fa together was disrupted and she stopped practicing. In 2001, with the help of other practitioners, she resumed practicing Falun Gong, and soon after that recovered rapidly again. On March 8, 2002, while Ms. Xu was studying the Fa and practicing the exercises in a practitioner's home, people reported them to the police. Along with other police, the head of Xicheng Police Station surnamed Zhang took her to the Suizhou Second Detention Center, where she was detained for a week. Because her family members were scared, they tried to keep her from practicing Falun Gong. She passed away on December 28, 2002.

Ms. Wu Guangying, 59, was a Falun Gong practitioner in Suizhou City. She started practicing Falun Gong in May 1999. Prior to Falun Gong practice she had suffered from high blood pressure, and her hands were sensitive to cold water. After she began Falun Gong practice she recovered rapidly from her ailments. When the persecution began in July 1999, she had practiced Falun Gong for only two months but stopped practicing since the normal practicing environment for Falun Gong practitioners, to practice and study the Fa together, was disrupted. With other practitioners' help she resumed practicing Falun Gong. Under continued pressure from the CCP's terror, she passed away.

Two Falun Gong Practitioners Who Disappeared or Became Homeless to Avoid Persecution

Ms. Ma Caizao, around 50 years old, was from Xihe Town, Suizhou City. She was arrested after going to Beijing to appeal for the justice for Falun Gong after July 20, 1999. The details require further investigation.

Ms. Li Yun, 24, came from Guayuan in the southern suburb of Suizhou City. Li Yun went to Beijing to appeal for the justice for Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. She was taken back to Suizhou City, where she was detained twice for fifteen days each time. Authorities from the Nanjiao Police Station in Suizhou City ordered Ai Xiaohong, a local team head, to contact Li Yun's employers, who fired her for practicing Falun Gong and also detained her for fifteen days. She was arrested many times by 610 Office agents and the police. She left home to avoid further persecution.

The Persecution Cases in Hebei Province

[Note: The following is a shortened version of a longer and more detailed article that appeared on the Minghui.org website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net).]

Practitioner Gong Yinniu and his wife Bai Suqing lived in Beilou Village, Anguo City, Hebei Province. After July 20, 1999, when the persecution of Falun Gong officially started, the couple was monitored at all times. In winter 2005, Xue Xian from the National Security Group of the police department, led eight people to arrest the couple and sent them to Anguo City Detention Center. The police took away the 4,000 yuan that Ms. Bai Suqing had on her person, and they also stole a copy machine and a box of paper from her. Mr. Gong Yinniu is now held in the 2nd Group of Baoding Labor Camp, and Bai Suqing is under house arrest due to high blood pressure. Police officers stay outside her home on a daily basis to watch her every move.

Ms. Zhao Yuehong lived in Zhongfuluo Village, Xifuluo Township, Anguo City, Hebei Province. Zhao Yuehong and her husband rode bikes into the city in February 2004 to visit their son, who was studying there. They encountered Liu Jianyong, the former head of Xifuluo Township Police Station, who was with officers from the Anguo City Police Department. The police illegally arrested Ms. Zhao Yuehong. They framed Zhao Yuehong by claiming that the Falun Gong materials she was carrying were produced by her, and they sentenced her to three years of forced labor. She is savagely tortured at Balizhuang Labor Camp in Baoding City to this day. Liu Jianyong deceived Mr. Gong Yinniu into signing a document admitting to all the false charges against his wife. Liu Jianyong also threatened Ms. Zhao Yuehong's younger sister, telling her that he would rape her if she revealed the truth about Zhao Yuehong's arrest. Xue Xian from the National Security Group and driver Wang Dong beat Zhao Yuehong.

Practitioner Ms. Yang Xinli, 39 years old, lived in Zhangjiaying Village, Xifuluo Township, Anguo City, Hebei Province. She is now held at Balizhuang Labor Camp in Baoding City. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began the persecution in 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong by sharing her firsthand experiences. She was barbarically beaten and detained. Officers from the Anguo City Police Department and the 610 Office extorted more than 10,000 yuan from her family before releasing her.

Tian Xu, head of Xifuluo Township Police Station, led some police officers and officials from the City National Security Group to Ms. Yang Xinli's home to illegally arrest her. Yang Xinli was detained at Anguo City Detention Center, savagely beaten and later sentenced to 18 months of forced labor. Her husband left home to work in another city. Her parents-in-law and two children are left home alone. Her mother-in-law, who was healthy before the persecution, fell ill from anger and grief, and passed away three months after Yang Xinli's arrest in June 2006. The officials refused to let Yang Xinli see her mother-in-law for the last time before she died. After suffering the loss of two family members, her father-in-law's health worsened and he went blind. Yang Xinli's older son is 17 years old. He was forced to leave home and work. Her younger son is 14 years old. He left home on his own. His current whereabouts are unknown. A happy family has been shattered by the CCP.

Practitioner Mr. An Shilu is around 30 years of age. He was reported and sent to Balizhuang Labor Camp in Baoding City, where he is still being held. Further investigation into the details is underway.

Practitioner Li Feng lived in Qudi Village, Anguo City, Hebei Province. He was arrested for broadcasting truth clarification videos and was tortured in Xushui for several months, after which he received a lengthy prison sentence. He was tortured at the No. 4 Prison of Shijiazhuang City until he suffered a mental collapse. Li Dongpu, the current political head at the district police department, and officers from Baoding Police Department, once forced Li Feng to ingest some "medicine" that resembled cotton candy. The poison caused Li Feng to lose memory and consciousness, and he suffered general weakness in his body for several months. Even now, he cannot see clearly and he cannot hear anything. His family requested after the 2006 Chinese New Year that the authorities at the No. 4 Prison of Shijiazhuang City release Li Feng on medical parole. Right now, the guards do not allow Li Feng's wife to see him and they deny that he suffers from symptoms of illness. Li Feng's family requested that he be allowed to receive a medical exam outside the prison, but the guards refused. Li Feng currently experiences chest tightness, shortness of breath, high blood pressure, and severe swelling of the lower limbs. He frequently passes out. One time he lost consciousness for two days. His life is in constant danger.

Heilongjiang Province TV Station Employee Zhao Xidong Persecuted for Persisting in His Belief in Falun Gong

Zhao Xidong, male, was born in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province on August 27, 1962. He has a bachelor's degree and worked at the Russian Translation Center of Heilongjiang Province TV Station. His address is: 11 Wenlin St. Building B Room 171, Harbin City.

In 1998, Zhao Xidong started to practice Falun Gong.

Jiang Zemin, the former CCP dictator prior, began a merciless nationwide persecution against Falun Gong practitioners on July 20, 1999. The Heilongjiang Province TV Station put Zhao Xidong and his wife (who also worked at the TV station) under house arrest. They were detained at the broadcasting station of the Provincial Administration of Radio and Television for months. In the same year, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials at Zhao Xidong's company ordered him to withdraw from the Party.

In January 2000, Zhao Xidong received the following punishment from his employer: he was laid off from his government job, kept under surveillance for a year, lost three levels of salary, and had to work as a janitor in a branch station of the State Administration of Radio and Television.

In November 2000, Zhao Xidong went to Beijing to appeal and request the government to give back practitioners' freedom to practice Falun Gong. Nangang District Police Department in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province illegally detained him. Wang Songjiang (a policeman from Wenhua Police Station, Nangang District) and Li Wei (CCP Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee of Heilongjiang Province TV Station ) took him to a detention center. Han Xiuwen and others from the Political and Security Section of Nangang District Police Department conducted an illegal trial of Mr. Zhao Xidong's case.

In January 2001, Heilongjiang Province TV Station followed the Chinese Communist Party's instructions to the letter. They trampled laws and used their power at will. Zhao Xidong was kept in a detention center and the TV station discharged him for absenteeism. Officials at the TV station even refused to sign a release form after a 15-day detention. As a result, Zhao Xidong was detained for nearly six months.

On September 23, 2005, under 610 Office head Luo Gan's direct instructions, many practitioners in Harbin were suddenly arrested. Because of the vicious torture interrogations, the police obtained information about Mr. Zhao Xidong. On the night of November 4, 2005, around 8 p.m., instructor Luan and three other policemen (from the Haping Road Police Station, Dongli District Police Department in Harbin City), Chen Qi and officer An (from Wenhua Road Police Station) broke into Zhao Xidong's home and arrested him. They also ransacked his place, taking his computer, camcorder, blank video tapes and other items.

The police even harassed his teenage daughter. They went to Zhao Xidong's daughter's school and harassed his daughter and her teacher.

Zhao Xidong's wife brought the "withheld item list" issued by the police to the station to ask for the items back. The team leader of the National Security Team, Yang Shouyi, told her that they had decided to keep those items, and he refused to issue a withholding document.

On November 4, 2005, Zhao Xidong's family requested to visit him. Their request was denied without cause. Zhao Xidong's wife was unable to find out if her husband had been detained at the Dongli District Police Department Detention Center.

On December 12, 2005, the Dongli District Police Department illegally sentenced Mr. Zhao Xidong to a labor camp for eighteen months. But the bureau didn't send him away, nor did they notify the family.

On July 19, 2006, Dongli District Police Department made a request to the procuratorate for the arrest of Zhao Xidong. Mr. Zhao refused to sign. The so-called case materials were transferred to the Prosecution Section of the procuratorate.

On the afternoon of September 21, 2006, at 1:30 p. m., Dongli District Court began the trail of Zhao Xidong. His family and lawyer were not notified ahead of time.

Dongli District Court originally decided to try him on September 27. However, because the lawyer wasn't able to defend him, and Zhao Xidong's family strongly requested the lawyer's presence for Zhao Xidong's defense, the judge said that he had to get a permit from a higher authority before proceeding. The trial date remains undecided...
