The Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) Minister of Commerce Bo Xilai arrived in Macao in the evening of September 22, 2006, preparing to attend the opening ceremony of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries --- Second Ministerial Meeting, to be held on September 25, 2006.

Macao Falun Gong practitioners call for bringing prime culprit in the persecution of Falun Gong Bo Xilai to justice

After Macao Falun Gong practitioners delivered an open letter on September 20, 2006 to the Chinese Liaison Office protesting the upcoming visit of Bo Xilai, they have held a series of protest activities regarding Bo Xilai's crimes in the persecution of Falun Gong and removing and selling organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. The practitioners distributed truth clarification materials on major streets and small lanes to expose Bo Xilai's crimes.

Five Falun Gong practitioners came to the busiest section in Macao on the afternoon of September 24, 2006. They unfurled a banner reading "Bring to Justice Bo Xilai-- Prime Culprit in the Persecution of Falun Gong," displayed materials, including the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party published by the Epoch Times, for tourists passing by. When practitioners unfurled the banner, many tourists and local citizens passing by walked up to see what it was all about, and asked for materials including the Nine Commentaries.

Mr. Lin, who participated in the activities, said that during his term as Mayor of Dalian City, Bo Xilai enthusiastically followed Jiang to brutally persecute Falun Gong for the sake of political gain. Dalian City became one of the cities nationwide where the persecution of Falun Gong was the most severe. During his term as governor of Liaoning Province from January 2001 to February 2004, Liaoning Province became one of the provinces where the persecution of Falun Gong was the most severe. Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, where eighteen women Falun Gong practitioners were stripped naked and thrown into male cells in October 2000, is one of the labor camps in Liaoning Province. This March, several witnesses came forward to expose the atrocities happening in Sujiatun, a secret concentration camp in Liaoning Province, where several thousand Falun Gong practitioners were locked up to have their organs harvested while they were still alive. These heinous atrocities took place during the term of Bo Xilai. An independent investigation team formed by former Canadian Secretary of State for Asia and Pacific David Kilgour and international human rights lawyer David Matas has verified the incidents of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners to be true. Mr. Kilgour also pointed out that Bo Xilai directly participated in this matter, and requested that all countries reserve the right to deny Bo Xilai's entry.

Mr. Lin pointed out that lawsuits have been filed against Bo Xilai in several countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, Russia, Australia, Korea, Spain and Sweden. This is a human rights scoundrel who should be brought to justice.

Three Falun Gong practitioners, Chee Fei-ming, Tsang Hau-sim and Tse Lai-sim, were denied entry into Singapore early morning on September 23, 2006 by the Singapore authorities. They boarded a flight back to Hong Kong later in the morning after each of them was forced to pay $100 Singapore dollars as "airfare." The practitioners pointed out that the Singapore authorities unreasonably denied their entry, obviously to appease the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and used the CCP's blacklist approach to participate in the persecution.

According to Chee Fei-ming, she once entered Singapore smoothly this March. She felt that her denial of entry had something to do with the false charges leveled against Falun Gong practitioners and the related court hearing to be held on September 25. It was one in a series of actions that the Singapore government has taken to discriminate against and hinder Falun Gong practitioners. They protested against the Singapore government creating all kinds of difficulties and persecuting local practitioners in order to curry favor with the CCP, as well as unreasonably denying their entry.

At 1:00 a.m. on September 23, three Falun Gong practitioners arrived at Singapore's Changyi Airport from Hong Kong, ready to audit a new round of court hearings to be held against local Falun Gong practitioners. Tse Lai-sim first entered smoothly, but Chee Fei-ming and Tsang Hau-sim were taken to another counter. Tse Lai-sim, who was waiting outside, was then also taken away by the authorities and had her visa revoked. The three of them were brought to a room, and a customs officer told them that they could leave after being checking out.

Then, the customs officer required them to give their fingerprints and wanted to take photos of them. They originally refused the requirement, but the officer told them that they could enter Singapore after giving their fingerprints.

After the authorities completed the procedure, the three practitioners were told that they would be deported. They all received a notification of being denied entry. The reason given to them was that customs was unable to issue them a visa according to current entry bylaws. When the three practitioners pressed the customs officer for the reason for their being deported, he only repeatedly said that they received instructions from high-level authorities and knew nothing more.

The Singapore authorities planned to send the three Falun Gong practitioners to board a flight to Hong Kong at 6:45 a.m. on Saturday morning. Each of them were required to pay 100 Singapore dollars for the flight. When they initially refused, they were told that if they persisted, their luggage would be searched, and any money found in there would be confiscated. They then had no choice but to pay for their own deportation.

Tsang Hau-sim said that this trip was to support local Falun Gong practitioners and sit in on the court hearings of the two accused practitioners. She condemned the Singapore authorities' way of handling things, because as Falun Gong practitioners, they are all peaceful and law-abiding people.

The three practitioners, together with more than a dozen fellow practitioners from Switzerland and Hong Kong, held a peaceful sit-in in March 2002 outside the Chinese Liaison Office to protest the CCP and Jiang Zemin's regime's order to "kill without pardon," and they were falsely charged with "obstructing the streets" and other made-up crimes by the Hong Kong authorities. They were found guilty at the first trial. More than a dozen practitioners then appealed to the higher court, and ultimately all charges against them were withdrawn in May 2005.

The Hong Kong practitioners pointed out that the local government in Hong Kong, Macao, Iceland and Singapore have all at some point denied Falun Gong practitioners' entry into their countries based on a blacklist provided by the CCP. In some places, the authorities continued to repress Falun Gong. The practitioners shared their hope that these countries and regions will see the true face of the CCP and position themselves well in the future.

 Dr. Li Xutong, a radiation protection expert in China, applied to the Japanese government for asylum on September 22, 2006. At a press conference held at the Judicial Press Club in Tokyo at 4:00 p.m. on September 22, Dr. Li Xutong explained to the Japanese media the reason for his application for asylum.

Dr. Li Xutong seeks asylum in Japan

Dr. Li Xutong, 44, was a researcher at the nuclear security center of the State Environmental Protection Administration. His title at the security center was professor, and he has published over 50 academic articles. Four times he won scientific research prizes at the ministerial and provincial levels. He said that he was in poor health since he was a child, and had lived a painful life of chronic hepatitis and other illnesses. But since 1996, he has practiced Falun Gong, which teaches "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." As a result, he has become progressively healthier.

He found it hard to comprehend the persecution of Falun Gong. In September 2002, he was arrested and detained for 19 months at Beijing's Haidian District Detention Center and Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp for simply attending a gathering at a neighbor's home. After being released, he was sent to a "study class" organized by the National Organization Labor Committee to undergo brainwashing.

Dr. Li said at the press conference, "I am a Falun Gong practitioner, and I was imprisoned for 19 months by the CCP only for chatting at a neighbor's home. During the 19 months, in order to force me to acknowledge their lies and give up my belief, they constantly tortured and tormented me both physically and mentally. During the two years after being released, I was still under close surveillance by the CCP organization of my workplace and the '610 Office,' and I was subjected to the police's constant harassment. I was told by officials from the National Organization Labor Committee that [I should] either acknowledge their lies and give up my belief, or it will be continuous incarceration and torture. As a Falun Gong practitioner who takes 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance' as a code of conduct, in the past four plus years, I have been watching lies and deception around me but unable to openly express my true thoughts. I have also been under the threat of imprisonment and the humiliation of accepting being 'reformed.'"

Dr. Li Xutong continued to say, "I strongly call on the Japanese government and people to pay attention to and oppose the CCP authorities' brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, and pay attention to and support Falun Gong practitioners who live according to 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.'"

Dr. Li Xutong said that he has been to Japan twice. When he studied in Japan eighteen years ago, his colleagues in Japan expressed that he could stay in Japan to continue his studies, but he returned to China after his term was completed. Dr. Li has also been to the United States and Italy for study or research, but has never considered staying abroad. Now, he has chosen to stay in Japan, and though it is very painful for him to leave behind his family and career, he had no choice.

Mr. Yang Guiyuan, who was also forced to leave China by the CCP for practicing Falun Gong, also made a speech at the press conference. Mr. Yang Guiyuan was a PhD of pathophysiology at the First Military Medical University in Guangzhou, and a former instructor at the Changchun Quartermaster University of the PLA. He was placed under house arrest for three months and then lost his job for persisting in practicing Falun Gong. Later he went to Guangzhou to escape the persecution, but was sentenced to two years of forced labor. He suffered brutal torture at the No.1 Forced Labor Camp in Guangzhou. In 2004, he went abroad and received the Japanese government's help to stay in Japan.

Dr. Yang talked to the media about his ordeal and the CCP's crimes of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. He called on the Japanese government to condemn the CCP's atrocities of brutal persecution against Falun Gong.
