  • Police Supervisor Passed Away Due to Persecution in "Legal System Education Class"

Ms. Bao Liqun was a Falun Gong practitioner from Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. She was a mid-level police supervisor. On May 17, 2005, Ms. Bao was illegally arrested and taken to the so-called "Guizhou Province Legal System Education Class" in Lannigou District of Guiyang City, where she suffered forced brainwashing. In detention, Ms. Bao developed symptoms of severe sickness. When she was released, her situation worsened. Bao Liqun passed away as a result of gross injustice on August 20, 2005.

Bao Liqun, 56, was a policewoman at Zhongnan Police Station in Nanming District, Guiyang City. After she started to practice Falun Gong, chronic colitis, which had tormented her for fourteen years, was cured. She previously would take many sick days but now did not take any. Ms. Bao was awarded for her outstanding performance. After the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, because she firmly persisted in practicing Falun Gong, Bao Liqun was forced into early retirement. For six years she was doing well and diligently tried to do the three things that Master wants his practitioners to do in order to save sentient beings.

On May 1, 2005, Bao Liqun was arrested when she was clarifying the truth with other practitioners. She was illegally detained in the Wudang District Detention Center for seventeen days. On May 17, Ms. Bao was arrested and taken to the so-called "Legal System Education Class" in Lannigou District of Guiyang City and subjected to forced brainwashing. Because she did not cooperate with the unreasonable demands of the authorities, she was force-fed after a four-day hunger strike. Due to the brutal persecution, Bao Liqun showed symptoms of bloody stool and diarrhea, which worsened day by day. The persons in charge of the brainwashing class were afraid to take responsibility for her serious condition, and notified her family to take her home.

After Ms. Bao returned home, her diarrhea gradually worsened. Her hearing started to deteriorate, and she felt dizzy now and then. Ms. Bao later exhibited heart and kidney problems. One week after her family sent her to the hospital, Bao Liqun passed away on August 20, 2005.

The so-called "Guizhou Province Legal System Education Class" in Lannigou District, Guiyang City is actually a brainwashing class meant to persecute people and is illegal under the Chinese Constitution. Since it was set up in 2001, many Falun Gong practitioners, from seniors in their 70's and 80's to students in their 20's, have been illegally detained there.

Falun Gong Practitioners Ye Jingsu and Zhao Hongxia from Inner Mongolia Persecuted to Death

Ye Jingsu, a Falun Gong practitioner from Yakeshi City, Inner Mongolia, and Zhao Hongxia, a Falun Gong practitioner from Huolingguole City, Inner Mongolia, regained complete health after they began to practice Falun Gong. However, after severe long-term persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), their illnesses returned and they both died; one in August 2005 and one in November.

Ms. Ye Jingsu, 52 years old, was a retired accountant from a branch factory affiliated with Yakeshi City Timber Factory in Inner Mongolia. Before she obtained the Fa, she had many illnesses, including diabetes. In the spring of 1996 Ms. Ye began to practice Falun Gong and soon regained complete health. After the evil CCP began to persecute Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Ms. Ye went to Beijing to clarify the truth and appeal for justice. She was illegally arrested and sent back to her hometown, where she was detained for one month. She was punished with a fine of 3000 yuan (which was returned to her one year later). In the winter of 2001, Ye Jingsu's phone number was found in the home of a Falun Gong practitioner whose house had been broken into and ransacked by the police. Thus, she was arrested again and locked in a room with no heating. Due to the exposure to extreme cold, the former symptoms of heart disease returned. The malicious authorities were afraid of taking responsibility for their torture and got Ms. Ye's family members to carry her back home. However the harassment continued. Whenever there were sensitive dates approaching, the police would go to Ye Jingsu's home and harass her. The CCP staff members in her work unit often tried to force her to write a guarantee statement to give up her practice. If she refused, they said they would send her to a brainwashing class where she would be tortured. In order to reach their goal of bullying her into submission, the evil CCP stopped Ms. Ye's pension for over a year. Shortly before October 1, 2005, she was once again harassed by her work unit. Due to this constant persecution Ms. Ye's physical condition deteriorated and she passed away in November 2005.

Ms. Zhao Hongxia was an elementary school teacher from Chageda Village, Huolinguole City, Inner Mongolia. Before she obtained the Fa, her legs were so disabled that she could not walk. After Ms. Zhao started practicing Falun Gong in 1998, the pain in her legs disappeared and she could walk easily. Thus she returned to her job. After July 20, 1999, former president Jiang's evil regime began to madly persecute Falun Gong and Falun Gong practitioners. Zhao Hongxia "clarified the truth" tirelessly. One day in 2000, while she was promoting the Fa, the local evil police station illegally detained her for 15 days and took away the pension she had earned through her 40 years of teaching. Staff from the City Committee of Huolinguole City, the 610 Office, the Bureau of Education and the police station went to Ms. Zhao's home to harass her many times. They illegally ransacked her home and took away her Falun Gong books. Each time the evil CCP staff members harassed the family, and/or broke into their home and ransacked it, Ms. Zhao and her family were severely traumatized. Under the continual harassment, bullying and threatening, Zhao Hongxia passed away on

Mr. Jiang Hanquan's Daughters Abducted and Held as Hostage by Guangdong Police

In order to capture Falun Gong practitioner Jiang Hanquan, Guangdong police authorities took away Mr. Jiang's wife, his daughters and another of his relatives. His daughters are being held as hostage.

On December 13, 2005, at about 10:00 a.m., agents from the Puning National Security Team, the Chengdong Police Station, and a Shangtang Village security official searched Mr. Jiang Hanquan's house and confiscated his Falun Gong books. After lunch, several agents came again, and tried to deceive Mr. Jiang's family, saying that they had come to return the books. Jiang Hanquan's family refused to open the door, so the agents climbed over the courtyard wall and kicked the door, finally breaking into the house. They placed the books in the bedroom and took a photo of them. Mr. Jiang's mother, in her eighties, was terrified by the incident.

Four days later, ten police officials came and took away Jiang Hanquan's wife, Liu Chanduan, and his two daughters, Jiang Jiayin and Jiang Lanlan, who had tried to protect their mother from the abduction. Mr. Jiang's mother was so terrified that she fell down to the ground. The young adult relative who helped the elderly woman up was also arrested.

Liu Chanduan was returned home at noon by village security officials. She was left at the front door where she was found in a deep coma with her mouth foaming. No further information is yet available about her.

Another family member was threatened with every means at the Chengdong police station. She was kicked in the face, and after a night of torture, she was released and was taken back home by a village security official.

The two daughters, Jiang Jiayin and Jiang Lanlan, were taken to the Puning Detention Center that night. Their elderly grandmother went there to ask for the release of her granddaughters, but the police official replied that her son, Mr. Jiang Hanquan, should do the exchange. The police official who searched Mr. Jiang's house on December 13 left a message for Jiang Huanquan, saying that Mr. Jiang had better see them at the No. 2 Group, National Security Team, on the sixth floor of the building of the Puning Police Department, Phone: 86-13822941616 (Cell).

Ms. Su Hongying Detained and Tortured By the Kaifeng Police

Recently, a large number of Falun Gong practitioners from Kaifeng City, Henan Province have been arrested and had their homes and truth clarification materials production centers ransacked. Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Su Hongying from the Kaifeng Municipal Ob/Gyn Hospital was one of the latest victims.

At around noon on November 14, 2005, Ms. Su Hongying was arrested on Yangguangmiao Street by policemen Mou Peikai, Zhang Hu, Fang Le, and Wu Xiuguo from the Qingping Police Station. The police reported the arrest to the 610 Office. At about 8:00 p.m. that evening, two policemen, Hao Linbin and Liu Yuejin from the 610 Office, with more than ten other people, raided Ms. Su's home without showing any identification or a search warrant. They took away her computer, color printer, CD-ROM writer, Falun Gong books, truth clarification materials, and CD-ROMs, along with all the cash in the house. They immediately went to Su Hongying's workplace and confiscated Falun Gong materials and Ms. Su's salary note from her bank. That same evening, they also arrested Ms. Su's son Chen Xin with the excuse that he did not cooperate with the raid, and tortured and interrogated him until 3 a.m. the next morning before they released him.

On November 15, the 610 Office transferred Su Xongxing to the Kaifeng City Detention Center under the charges of "Plotting to topple the state government." No family members were allowed to visit her. Ms. Su was exposed to bitterly cold weather, detained along with drug addicts and convicted murderers, and brutally tortured.

On December 15, Ms. Su Hongying received an official arrest warrant, for allegedly "organizing and using a [slanderous term omitted] to obstruct law enforcement."

Currently, Ms. Su is still being detained at the Kaifeng City Detention Center. The police have threatened her with a three- to seven-year prison sentence.

Since Su Hongying's arrest, the 610 Office has continued to threaten, harass, and extort money from Ms. Su's husband and son. Their telephone line and their residence is being tapped and videotaped. Ms. Su's husband and son are now being looked down upon by others. The financial situation of their family, which was not well off to begin with, is in dire straits. Another peaceful family has been torn apart and financially destroyed by the persecution.

Brief introduction to Ms. Su Hongying:

Ms. Su Hongying, 53, is an outstanding accountant with decades of an excellent work record. She is an upright person and admired by many in her workplace and neighborhood. Around New Year's Day in 2001, Ms. Su was arrested and beaten by the police because she said, "Falun Dafa is great" on Tiananmen Square in Beijing. Later, she was sent to two years of forced labor at the Shibalihe Forced Labor Camp in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. While detained and beaten in Beijing, Su Hongying was charged 500 yuan for "lodging." The official stamp of the Kaifeng Municipal Government Beijing Office was found on the "lodging" receipt.

Six Practitioners Die from Persecution in Hebei, Xinjiang, and Shanghai

In 1995, Wang Shuhua, and her husband Wu Jinfu, were fortunate to learn the practice of Falun Gong. Ms. Wang, a 50-year-old retiree from the No. 3 Cotton Mill in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, used to have many illnesses. She was often forced to take a lot of time off from work. At the time, medicine was her only hope for survival. However after practicing Falun Gong, all of her illnesses disappeared, and happiness once again returned to her family.

Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched its persecution against practitioners of Falun Gong back on July 20, 1999, Ms. Wang and her family have suffered a great deal. Ms. Wang and her husband went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, but they were detained and imprisoned several times. The police illegally arrested Mr. Wang's husband and tortured him because he practiced the Falun Gong exercises in the Hebei Theatre on Chinese New Year's Eve of 2000. He was illegally sentenced and imprisoned in the Tangshan Prison for five years. Ms. Wang was also arrested while distributing truth clarification literature about Falun Gong and sent to a forced labor camp. She was released due to her poor health condition, but she soon became the target of regular harassment by the police. Ms. Wang was forced into homelessness for two years, during which time her daughter lost her job and gave birth to a child. The endless persecution against her and her family, along with the worries and hardships this produced, eventually made Ms. Wang fall ill. She suffered from ovarian cancer and died on November 21, 2005.

Mr. Li Xiaojing, 69, was a retired worker from Kashi City of Xinjiang Province. He began to practice Falun Gong in 1996, but has suffered from physical and mental persecution ever since former president Jiang Zemin's regime launched the suppression of Falun Gong. In May 2000, Chinese authorities illegally imprisoned Mr. Li several times and extorted tens of thousands of yuan from him. Mr. Li's home was illegally searched a dozen times and he was imprisoned for more than a month right before Chinese New Year's Eve 2001. The persecution has also harmed Li Xiaojing's children. Mr. Li was forced into homelessness in 2001 to avoid further persecution. He died on September 5, 2005, in Gangu County of Gansu Province.

Mr. Qiu Zhihua, 53, was born in Shanghai. Mr. Qiu began to practice Falun Gong in 1996. He was active in revealing the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong, and in July of 2000, he was illegally detained. His house was searched by the authorities. After his release Mr. Qiu continued to practice Falun Gong, but was frequently harassed by the police. Under this endless mental and physical persecution, Mr. Qiu died in January 2005.

Mr. Tang Zhenxue, 70, is another veteran Falun Gong practitioner. He used to suffer from encephalitis, which often made him vomit. Mr. Tang had difficulty walking and had to be assisted by his family members when he first went to practice the Falun Gong exercises. At home he had to hold onto the bedside while practicing the exercises. He became capable of walking on his own within a month of learning Falun Gong and began to do some farm work. After the persecution began, the authorities confiscated Mr. Tang's Falun Gong books and videotapes and threatened him not to practice Falun Gong. Under the prolonged and tremendous pressure, Mr. Tang had a relapse of his illness and died.

Ms. Jin Mingshu, 70, was a retiree of the Wangqing County Department Store of Jilin Province. After she began to practice Falun Gong in 1996, all of her numerous illnesses disappeared without any medical treatment. Since July 20, 1999, the local police and officials of the 610 Office constantly harassed and intimidated her. Ms. Jin was arrested and interrogated three times since 2002. Due to repeated torture, Ms. Jin suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and died in February 2003.

Ms. Zhang Yuqin lived in Jilin City, of Jilin Province. After Ms. Zhang started practicing Falun Gong, her severe long-term diabetes disappeared. She had only practiced Falun Gong for a short period of time and did not have a thorough understanding of Falun Gong when the persecution began. When other Falun Gong practitioners were persecuted, she stopped practicing Falun Gong. As a result, Ms. Zhang had a relapse of her diabetes. Her illness turned into uremia until another Falun Gong practitioner who had been forced into homelessness took a job helping her with the housework. Ms Zhang was encouraged to return to the path of cultivation. One day, the authorities went to her house and arrested her fellow practitioner, and harassed and threatened Ms. Zhang. Ms. Zhang could not bear the tremendous pressure and her illness returned once again. She died in November 2002.

The Tianjin Iron Plant Colludes with the She County Police to Persecute Falun Gong practitioners

Recently, a few employees from the Tianjin Iron Plant in She County, Hebei Province, colluded with the county police to illegally search the homes of a number of Falun Gong practitioners. Three practitioners were illegally sentenced to forced labor. Two of these practitioners, Ms. Song Xiaoxia and Ms. Song Liqin, have been made extremely weak from torture, yet they have not been released.

Information on the three Falun Gong practitioners illegally sentenced to forced labor by the She County Police:

Mr. Liu Chaofeng, in his 30s, was illegally sent to the Tianjin Labor Camp for two years by the Iron Plant; Ms. Song Xiaoxia, 42, was illegally sent to the Tianjin Labor Camp for eight months; Ms. Song Liqin, 39, was sent to Tianjin and illegally persecuted there for three months.

Currently, Ms. Song Xiaoxia and Ms. Song Liqin are in such bad physical condition due to torture that the forced labor camps won't even accept them, yet they are still being kept in police custody in Handan City.

Since former president Jiang Zemin's political regime started suppressing Falun Gong in 1999, the Tianjin Iron Plant has continuously harassed and persecuted Falun Gong practitioners in various ways. Their persecution tactics include offering heavy financial incentives for those who persecute Falun Gong practitioners, illegal tracking of practitioners, eavesdropping, camera monitoring, and other surveillance. As a result, many practitioners were illegally detained or sentenced. The police in She County once threw female Falun Gong practitioners into male prison cells for 20 days. In addition, they once illegally arrested four Falun Gong practitioners, and among them, one female Falun Gong practitioner has become paralyzed due to torture and still lies motionless in the hospital today.
