  • Detained Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Pei Shuhua's Life in Danger

On November 4, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Pei Shuhua from Changchun City, Jilin Province was arrested while clarifying the truth. She has been on a hunger strike ever since to protest, and her life is now in danger. She is being held in the Changchun City Police Hospital. Her life is sustained by intravenous injection. We have learned that the police department notified her employer, the Shuangyang District Hospital in Changchun City, but her employer refused to be involved, saying that they were "too busy."

Ms. Pei Shuhua has been detained for two months, but the police department did not notify her family as required by law and intentionally concealed Ms. Pei's critical physical condition. The police department has fabricated evidence, attempting to have Ms. Pei Shuhua sentenced to prison, but the Procuratorate has refused to hear the case without sufficient evidence. Her case file has been sent back to the police department. We do not know what further action the police department will take regarding Ms. Pei's case.

Ms. Liu Shufen in Critical Condition after a Seven-Month Hunger Strike

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Shufen has been on a hunger strike for nearly seven months, and her condition is now critical. The administration of the Harbin Women's Prison is still covering up the facts and treating her family very rudely when they visit. More details follow:

In the middle of May 2005, police arrested Ms. Liu, who is from Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. They picked her up from the place she had been staying since she was forced to leave home to avoid near certain arrest there. She was sentenced to eight years in prison by the Rang District Court in Daqing City. Confined in the Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison (located in Harbin City), Ms. Liu Shufen has been tortured with methods known as the Big Hang Up (1) and Locking up in a Small Cell (2). She has also been brutally tortured by having her legs stretched from a hanging position, having her hands cuffed 24 hours every day, being hung from a rail with her hands cuffed behind her back (3), and being denied sleep or use of a toilet.

On June 6, 2005, Ms. Liu Shufen began a hunger strike to protest her illegal imprisonment. Her hunger strike continues today. Her parents have visited her many times but have been facing obstacles from the prison administration. They are trying very hard to rescue her, their only daughter, but she has been on a hunger strike for seven months, and her life is in danger.

On December 29, 2005, Ms. Liu Shufen's mother Wang Yanxiang went to the prison to visit, requesting that her daughter be given a medical parole. Ms. Liu's mother took a letter of appeal to give to the warden. The guards told her the warden was not there. Ms. Wang waited until the afternoon, but the warden was still absent. Ms. Wang was waiting in the hallway and pushed her appeal letter through an opening in the door. The guards were very angry with Ms. Wang and ignored her request to transmit the letter to the warden.

Ms. Wang insisted on seeing her daughter and refused to leave unless she saw her. Guards then arranged to let her see her daughter Liu Shufen with plate glass between them, using a telephone to communicate. Three guards listened to their conversation. Ms. Wang found her daughter in bad shape, with sunken eyes and emaciated. Her daughter did not smile and the guards told her she was carried out on a chair. Ms. Wang refused to leave since her daughter was obviously in such a critical condition. Prison administration refused her medical parole request the last time, saying she was not sick enough. But even though she is now in such a dangerous state, they still refuse to let her out.

Ms. Liu Shufen's mother Ms. Wang was finally dragged out by guards Li Bin (female) and Xiao Lin (male).

    (1) There are two forms in this torture: 1) With both hands cuffed behind the back and only toes touching the ground, one is hung by a rope that is tied to a metal window frame; 2) One hand of a practitioner is cuffed to one bunk bed and the other hand to another bed, and the two beds are pulled in the opposite directions. One feels extremely pain as the body is pulled apart. See illustration on /emh/articles/2004/11/17/54624.html.

    (2) The detainee is locked up in a very small cell individually. The guards handcuff practitioners on their back in a fixed position, in which the practitioners can neither move nor lie down. The small cell is very damp and no sunshine comes in. Detainees have to urinate and defecate in the cell. Only half of a regular meal is served to detainees locked up in a small cell during the daytime. During the night rats roam the cell. The stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.

    (3) With both hands cuffed behind the back, both feet off the ground or only toes touching, one is hung onto the basketball support or house beam with the handcuffs. Both hands and arms will soon lose sensory perception. In addition, both hands will go dead from lack of blood circulation. See illustration on /emh/articles/2004/8/31/51910.html.

The Brutal Persecution of Practitioners in Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp

The following is an account of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp from 2003 to 2005.

The Persecution in the Fifth Team

The guards, led by their head Liu Shuang, brutally tortured practitioners at will. The torture methods used on practitioners include "pushing, breaking and bending."(1) The torture is to use force in the direction that's opposite of the human body's structures such as the joints. It can cause extreme pain to the victims.

On June 27, 2003, 11 practitioners transferred from the Wanjia Group Education Team in Wanjia Forced Labor Camp to the Fifth Team of the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp. The 11 practitioners were: Yu Enxiang (Hulan County), Zhao Xiaodong (Hulan County), Yang Weihua (Hulan County), Xue Wei (Hulan County), Li Wansuo (Bin County), Yao Chunrong (Bin County), Wang Haifeng (Yilan County), Mo Zhikui (Yilan County), Guan Tingguo (Harbin City), Hong Baojia (Shuangcheng). The practitioners were given physical exams. If the practitioners were healthy and not yielding, guard Li Shuang and accomplices beat, kicked, and shocked them with electric batons for three hours straight.

After the beatings, practitioner Mr. Zhao Xiaodong's face was disfigured and covered with bruises. His face was swollen and he couldn't open his eyes. Hong Baojia, Mo Zhikui, Wang Haifeng and Li Wansuo were brought to their cells and forced to squat down facing the wall from 3 p.m. until some time between 5 and 6 p.m. The perpetrators then handcuffed and hung up Hong Baojia, Mo Zhikui and Wang Haifeng on the bunk beds. Hong Baojia was handcuffed for one night and half a day. Wang Haifeng and Mo Zhikui were hung up for two days and two nights. The perpetrators also beat Haifeng and Zhikui while they were suspended. The practitioners were punched, kicked and slapped, and struck on their chests. The perpetrators watched them all the time. Whenever the practitioners were too exhausted and closed their eyes, the perpetrators would beat them.

On September 13, 2005, inmate Qi Kunlei reported practitioner Mr. Zhou Peihong from Shuangcheng to the guard Zhao Shuang, and accused Mr. Zhou of doing the Falun Gong exercises. During the night, guard Zhao Shuang came and slapped Mr. Zhou twice. When asked if he would follow the order and quit doing the Falun Gong exercises, Mr. Zhou said, "No." Guard Zhao Shuang and seven to eight inmates, including Qi Kunlei and Dong Hebin, pushed and dragged Mr. Zhou into the hallway and pushed him down to the ground. They rode on him and did the "Pushing and Breaking" torture to him. They tortured him in this way three times. Each time it lasted around 20 minutes. Later they did the "bending" torture on him. Mr. Zhou was tortured like this for more than one hour, and his arms were swollen and covered with bruises. Zhao Shuang ordered inmate Qi Kunlei to use force to push and press on areas where Mr. Zhou was injured. Mr. Zhou screamed due to the intense pain. On September 16, Mr. Zhou was sent to a hospital for examination. His elbows were dislocated, and one of his arms was fractured.

Because of the torture, Mr. Zhou Peihong became disabled. He was unable to take care himself, and he could not hold anything in his hands, not even a pair of chopsticks, to eat a meal. A practitioner wanted to feed him, but was forbidden to do so. To help Mr. Zhou, the practitioner inserted a sausage into a box, so Mr. Zhou could lower his head and bite the sausage.

Before Mr. Zhou was sent to the hospital for a physical examination, guard Zhao Shuang forced him to do hard labor until he was too weak to do anything. After the brutal torture, the forced labor camp refused to let Mr. Zhou's relatives visit him.

Inmate Qi Kunlei also reported practitioner Zhang Siyuan. Under Zhao Shuang's threats, Zhang Siyuan was forced to say that he would follow their orders and escaped from the torture of "pushing, breaking and bending." But Zhao Shuang was still not satisfied and made Zhang Siyuan drink alcohol. (Falun Gong practitioners do not drink alcohol.)

Around March 25, 2005, inmate Qi Kunlei told guard Zhao Shuang that Harbin practitioner Mr. Song Guanghua said to him, "Good is rewarded with good, and evil meets with karmic retribution." Zhao Shuang had Mr. Song sent to the team office, where Mr. Song was subjected to the "pushing and breaking" torture. Mr. Song could no longer move his arms due to the torture and had to be carried back to the cell. Yet on the second day, Zhao Shuang still forced him to do labor, pushing carts of coal to the boiler room. One to two months after the torture, Mr. Song's legs were still crippled.

After torturing Mr. Song Guanghua, Zhao Shuang asked in a goading tone, "Who else won't obey my orders?" Nobody answered him. Zhao Shuang looked at 57-year-old practitioner Zhang Yiwei from Acheng and asked him the same question. Mr. Zhang Yiwei said, "I won't." Zhao Shuang immediately did the "pushing and breaking" torture on Mr. Zhang in front of everyone in the cell. He also hit Mr. Zhang in the face with an electric baton.

Because of the torture, Hulan County practitioner Mr. Yu Enxiang, 43 years old, developed high blood pressure and an irregular heartbeat. Zhao Shuang forced him to do hard labor. Because Mr. Yu did not meet the labor requirement, Zhao Shuang tried to force him to take drugs. Mr. Yu refused. Zhao Shuang slapped his face and damaged both of his ears. Now, Mr. Yu cannot hear normal conversation from two meters away.

Practitioner Mr. Sun Hongda, in his 30s, from Dalianhe Town of Yilan County, was subjected to the "pushing and breaking" torture. Zhao Shuang and another four to five perpetrators were responsible. Zhao Shuang also shocked him with electric batons.

Forty-eight-year-old practitioner Zhang Delong from Yilan County and a practitioner with the surname Hu from Wuchang City were also tortured by Zhao Shuang using the "pushing and breaking" method.

There are many more practitioners who have been tortured by guard Zhao Shuang.

The Persecution of Practitioners in the First Team

In November 2004, the detained practitioners in the Fourth Team went on a hunger strike to protest the guards persecuting practitioners. On November 17, 11 practitioners in the First Team also went on a hunger strike to support them. Practitioner Mr. Yu Enxiang had the longest hunger strike, lasting almost one month. During the hunger strike, the guards force-fed the practitioners. The guards separated the practitioners into groups of three or four, monitored by inmates. The practitioners were forced to sit on a small stool all day long and had to be motionless, otherwise, they would be beaten.

Practitioner Mr. Guo Shijun was forced to sit on a metal chair for three or four days and on a small stool for seven days. Later, Mr. Guo had severe illness symptoms and was sent to a hospital for examination. He was diagnosed with fluid accumulation in his chest and two cancerous diseases. The guards refused to give any more details about the diseases. Around Chinese New Year 2005, Mr. Guo got extremely sick and was sent to the hospital in the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp. The hospital refused to admit him because he was too sick. The Wanjia Forced Labor Camp was afraid to take any further responsibility, so the authorities sent Mr. Guo home. At that time Mr. Guo Shijun was very near death.

In February 2005, the forced labor camp used the ploy of a "physical examination" to draw blood from every practitioner. The practitioners resisted this form of persecution. To force the practitioners to yield, the heads of the Education Section, the Life Health Section, and the Management Section enlisted their staff to draw the practitioners' blood. Five to six guards held down the practitioners who resisted, and their blood was drawn against their will.

The Enslavement of Detained Practitioners in the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp

Most of the illegally detained practitioners are forced to prepare toothpicks and small sticks for food products. The young people are ordered to finish 25 boxes. Every box weighs 2.76 to 3.3 pounds. Elderly people are ordered to finish 15 to 20 boxes. They are supposed to work from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., but usually are forced to work until 10 or 11 p.m., sometimes even midnight. If anyone doesn't finish the work, he has to bring the unfinished work back in the cell. As punishment, the person has to do more work in addition to his unfinished work. Some people have to work until 3:30 a.m. At the same time, the work quota for the second day won't be delayed or reduced. Many practitioners' eyes have been damaged due to the intense work. Elderly people without good eyesight are forced to wear glasses to finish their work quotas. For the practitioners whose eyesight is too poor to do the work, they are forced to sit and wait until the last piece of work is finished. One time when the delivery vehicle came to pick up the boxes of toothpicks, the practitioners were forced to be half-naked and move the boxes to the vehicle in the rain for two hours.

    Note:

    (1) "Pushing, breaking and bending:"

Pushing is known as "Pushing Back and Forth." Four prisoners press the practitioner face down on the floor and pull his arms to his back. One prisoner then sits on his body and holds his wrists, lifting his arms forward and upward with full force starting from the side of his body, straight up over his back, then his head, and finally pressing his palms on the floor. In this way, the prisoner repeatedly pushes the practitioner's arms back and forth along an angle of 180 degrees. As a result, the shoulders feel as if they are being torn off. The pain from the tearing muscles and ligaments is excruciating.

Breaking is also known as "Breaking Off." Two prisoners press the practitioner on the floor and hold his feet still. Then they move the practitioner's arms to his back and bend the lower arms against the way the joints naturally bend. The practitioner cannot breathe properly while being tortured. The arms feel extreme pain, as if they re being broken off.

Bending is also known as "Pushing Up." Two prisoners press the practitioner on the floor. While one of the prisoners is "breaking off" the arm, the other places his foot on the practitioner's bottom, grabs the practitioner's leg and uses his shoulder to push the practitioner's leg up with his full force, causing extreme pain in the hips.

Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners by Agents from the 610 Office and the National Security Bureau in Yutai County, Shandong Province

Agents from the 610 Office and the National Security Bureau of Yutai Country, Shandong Province, have persecuted Falun Gong practitioners in many ways, including arbitrary arrest and detention, sending practitioners to labor camps, issuing threats, harassment, phone tapping, fines and other means. On December 9, 2005, personnel from the County Police Department, the 610 Office and the National Security Team arrested Falun Gong practitioners Song Wanxia and Liu Hua.

Ms. Song Wanxia, 40-years-old, is a retired worker from the Yutai County Gauge Factory. She had many illnesses before she started practicing Falun Gong, all of which disappeared after practicing Falun Gong. On December 9, 2005, Officer Huang Yuanjun from the National Security Team of the Yutai County Police Department and two other policemen went to Song's daughter's house to arrest Song, but she was out of town. Huang Yuanjun lied to Ms. Song's family by telling them that her bail had expired, and that she was required to apply for permission to extend her bail. As a result, Ms. Song's family asked her to come home. She was illegally arrested as soon as she returned and jailed in the County Detention Center. Her family petitioned the police department to release her but their request was refused. Song Wanxia is now incarcerated in the Jinxiang County Detention Center, which is adjacent to Yutai County.

Ms. Liu Hua, a 40-year-old employee from the Yutai County Electricity (utility) Bureau, was also arrested on December 9. She is currently jailed in the Yutai Detention Center. Ms. Liu had been forced to attend a brainwashing session in December 2004 and then released after paying a large fine. After she was released, her workplace stopped her salary. Many Falun Gong practitioners have been forced to pay fines, yet none of them have received a receipt.

Ms. Zhai Yanqin is 45 years old. She enjoyed freedom from many illnesses that had plagued her earlier after practicing Falun Gong. When handing out truth clarification material in Yucheng Town in November 2004, someone reported her and she was arrested. After being jailed for 30 days, personnel from the Yutai County Police Department sentenced her to 1-1/2 years in a labor camp, and she was transferred to the Jinan Women's Forced Labor Camp.

Ms. Shi Xiaolan, an employee from the Tangma Credit Cooperative, was also arrested in November 2004 and jailed for 30 days.

Ms. Li Yanli, 45 years old, is an employee in the Yutai County Hydraulic Machine Factory. She had many illnesses healed after she started practicing Falun Gong. In 2001 Ms. Li was sentenced by the Yutai County Police Department to two years in a labor camp for practicing Falun Gong. She was released in 2003. In December 2004 she was arrested again and jailed in the Jinxiang County Detention Center in Shandong Province. On January 27, 2005, Ms. Li was secretly sentenced to two years in a labor camp. Her blood pressure rose to a very high level after being sent to the Jinan Women's Forced Labor Camp. Despite the danger to her health, she was forced to remain at the camp. Ms. Li has two young children at home in the care of one of her relatives.

Since July 20, 1999, six Falun Gong practitioners from Yutai County that we know have been jailed in labor camps; more than 20 have been held in detention centers, and almost 20 have been fined. Wang Weidong, who is the deputy chief of the Yutai County Police Department and also chief of the Yutai County 610 Office, is absolutely responsible for the six-year-long persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. He is personally involved in almost all of the persecution incidents happening in Yutai County. He hopes to gain political and financial benefits by aiding in the persecution of Falun Gong. His two subordinates, Ma Jiayan and Huang Yuanjun, are also actively involved in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

Associate Professor Ms. Jiang Lanying of Hunan Normal University Has Been Arrested

The local police arrested Ms. Jiang Lanying, an associate professor at Hunan Normal University, on December 21, 2005.

Ms. Jiang Lanying, in her 50s, is an academic teacher. On the evening of December 20, the police attempted to break into her house, but she held them back. The police then besieged her home. Officials from the local 610 Office phoned her and threatened her in an attempt to make her open the door. They claimed that they knew her situation, and they swore they would capture her even if they had to wait outside her house for a month. A dean from the Hunan Normal University called her as well. The dean lied to her, claiming that the school was very busy and needed her immediately, trying to trick her into opening the door.

On the second day of the siege, December 21, about 4 p.m., two practitioners went to visit her. More than an hour later, when the practitioners were leaving the house, seven or eight police officers jumped at the chance and forced their way in. The police searched all three practitioners and handcuffed Ms. Jiang.

At about 6 p.m., the three practitioners were sent to the Yuelu Branch of the Changsha City Public Security Bureau. That same night, the other two practitioners managed to arrive home safely. At the time when this article was written, Ms. Jiang Lanying was still being detained. Her situation is unknown.

Officials at the Hunan Normal University have been cooperating with the authorities in persecuting Falun Gong students at the university. In June this year Mr. Yang Xianguo, an associate professor at the University, was persecuted and his leg was broken in the process.

How the Shaanxi Province Women's Forced Labor Camp Persecuted Elderly Ms. Wang Guoying

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Guoying is an elderly resident of Shiquan County in Ankang City, Shaanxi Province. Since being imprisoned in the Shaanxi Province Women's Forced Labor Camp in October 2005, she has been constantly suffering brutal persecution and is locked up as a so-called "strictly monitored target" on the 3rd floor of the labor camp. Her current condition is very urgent.

Ms. Wang, born on July 2, 1943, is a retired staff member of the Road and Transportation Administration Institute of the Shiquan County Transportation Bureau in Ankang City, Shaanxi Province. She lived in a residential building of the Shiquan County Transportation Bureau. Around September 20, 2005, the police from Shiquan County, Ankang City arrested Ms. Wang, Mr. Mi Jianxin, and two other Falun Gong practitioners. Mr. Mi was arrested in Shandong Province and brought back to Ankang City. In early October 2005, Ms. Wang was transferred to the Shaanxi Province Women's Forced Labor Camp located in Fangxin Village in Xi'an City. The other three male practitioners were transferred to the Zaozihe Forced Labor Camp located in Fengxiang County, Shaanxi Province.

People who participated in arresting Falun Gong practitioners include: Li Ping, Secretary of the Political and Judiciary Committee of Shiquan County; Ding Yijin, Director of Shiquan County 610 Office; Hou Guolin, Director of the Shiquan County Police Department; Chen Changyong, who was originally the director of the Shiquan County Chengguan Police Station and has been persecuting Falun Gong practitioners all along; Deputy Director of the Shiquan County Police Department, Pu Chunlin; Dai Shuiying, female, from the National Security Group of the Shiquan County Police Department; Hu Chaogen, Deputy Director of Shiquan County Chengguan Police Station, and others. Since July 20, 1999, when Jiang Zemin started persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, these people have been actively following the Communist Party and participating in the persecution.

On November 6, 2002, Chen Changyong, who at that time was Director of the Shiquan County Chengguan Police Station, and Hu Chaogen, the Deputy Director, broke into a residential building of the Shiquan County Transportation Bureau to arrest Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Guoying, who was over 60 years old. Ms. Wang refused to open the door. Hu Chaogen picked up a brick from the ground to pound the security door. When the brick broke, Hu Chaogen picked up another brick and continued pounding until it also broke. Then Chen Changyong used a steel rod to try to break Ms. Wang's security door. Later Ms. Wang called her son and asked him to keep the broken bricks as evidence of what Chen Changyong and Hu Chaogen did. Chen Changyong was afraid and snatched the bricks from her son's hands. Dai Shuiying from the National Security Group of Shiquan County Police Department also participated in the arrest.

On July 15, 2004, the Shiquan County's 610 Office again instructed Dai Shuiying and others from the National Security Group to arrest Ms. Wang. They held and tormented Ms. Wang for three months at a brainwashing center located in a small hotel in Lintong District, Xi'an City.

Around September 20, 2005, the same people from Shiquan County once again arrested Ms. Wang and sent her to the Shaanxi Province Women's Forced Labor Camp. As soon as she was sent there, they locked her up on the 3rd floor as a "strictly monitored target" for brutal persecution.

In December 2002, it was the coldest part of winter. To "transform" practitioners, the Shaanxi Province Women Forced Labor Camp used a water hose to spray cold water onto them. They did this for the whole night. The police officers who ordered this persecution were Dong Yanling and a person with the last name of Zhao. Inmates who participated in the persecution included Li Guilan, Liu Xiaoting and others, and the persecution site was the "water room" on the 3rd floor of the north building in the Shaanxi Province Women's Forced Labor Camp. At that time the police tried various methods to persecute practitioners who firmly believe in Falun Gong. The methods used included standing for a long time, squatting for a long time, hung up with two feet barely touching the ground, handcuffed, and so on. When the police found that they could not "transform" the practitioners, they dragged the young female practitioners whose beliefs were firm to the water room on the 3rd floor, instructed prisoners to strip off their clothes, and drenched them with ice-cold water. They tortured the practitioners in such an inhuman way, even though they knew some of them were menstruating at the time. The torture lasted for the whole night. Based on the information received, at least two practitioners suffered such persecution: Liu Guiqing from northern Shaanxi Province, who is over 20 years old, and Li Yuqin from Hanzhong Area, Shanaxi Province, who is over 30 years old.

At present Ms. Wang's condition is very urgent. Please extend your help and stop the brutal persecution of this kind, elderly lady.

Persecution Facts of Falun Gong Practitioners in the Second Women's Section of the Masanjia Labor Camp

From January to March of 2005, practitioners who were illegally detained in the Masanjia Labor Camp refused to wear the prison uniform and refused to cooperate in any labor camp activities.

As a result, the Second Women's Section made a big rearrangement. They grouped all practitioners who firmly believed Falun Gong together and divided them into two divisions. The First Division was called the "strictly monitored team" while the Second Division was a generally monitored team. In addition, they also formed a Third Division, which grouped those who had been "transformed" according to the camp's requirement with newly arriving practitioners.

After this, the First Division became the major focus of persecution. The guards tortured those who did not wear a prison uniform and refused to cooperate by hanging them up, detaining them in a confinement cell, and other equally brutal measures. The practitioners were not allowed to go to the toilet for long periods of time, nor were they allowed to go outdoors. The guards also did not allow practitioners' family members to visit.

The First Division was divided into six groups. Each group had two female guards and one male guard, and they received help from some so-called "transformed" practitioners. For each prison room, two people took shifts and monitored the Falun Gong practitioners' every movement through a small hole in the covered window. There were monitors in the washing room, and in the front and back of each prison room. All pens, paper and watches were confiscated. The TV played high volume noise from morning to night, except noontime. On the morning of May 13, Falun Gong practitioners shouted together "Falun Dafa is good." The guards played the TV noise continuously for three or four days. Under such mental and physical torture, the health of many Falun Gong practitioners suffered. However, the practitioners have refused to renounce their beliefs.

The guards in the Second Women's Section force-fed those Falun Gong practitioners who protested by going on a hunger strike. For example, Ms. Zhu Yun was force-fed for thirteen months and finally, she could not control her bowels after the force feedings. Ms. Wang Manli's eyesight was blurry because of being force fed for six months through inserted tubes. But the guards did not lighten their persecution. Ms. Dong Jingya was force-fed three times per day and infused with five bottles of IV solution, which caused her face to swell up. The guards also tied some Falun Gong practitioners onto beds and force-fed them. They had to lie on the beds and get help from others when they relieved themselves.
