49-year-old Mr. Xing Guangjun was a Falun Gong practitioner in Xiangfan City, Hubei Province. He was arrested and sentenced to five years imprisonment. In July 2002, he was sent to the Fanjiatai Jail in Shayang County, Hubei Province. He was brutally tortured and injected with an unknown oral liquid drug, which caused a disorder in his nervous system and paralysis. After he was released on bail for medical treatment in April 2005, he was confined to bed. His mental condition was unstable, and he could not take care of himself. He was completely dependent on his family. He passed away in January 16, 2006. More details follow:

Mr. Xing Guangjun was an employee at the former Xiangfan City Aluminum Material Factory in Hubei Province. In June 1996, he began practicing Falun Gong. On October 26, 1999, he went to Beijing for clarifying the truth and validating Falun Gong. In Beijing, he was abducted by lawless officials. After that, he was sent to the Xiangfan City No. 1 Detention Center and detained for two and a half months. In the Chinese New Year of 2000, he was abducted again and illegally detained at Xiangfan City No. 1 Detention Center for three and a half months. On June 26, 2000, Mr. Xing went to appeal again, and he was abducted and persecuted again. He was sent to the Xiangfan City brainwashing center, located in the Jinpeng Hotel and affiliated with Xiangfan City Cotton Mill.

In 2001, Mr. Xing Guangjun was abducted, detained and tortured again. During his detention, he became infected with a skin disease and suffered continuous poor health. On March 12, 2002, he was illegally sentenced to five years of imprisonment. In July 2002, he was sent to the Fanjiatai Jail. In 2003, Mr. Xing was strictly monitored for several months. The long-term persecution caused his legs to shrivel, and eventually, he could no longer walk without assistance. Despite his condition, the wicked guards showed no concern and still placed him under strict surveillance and tortured him. In 2004, Mr. Xing went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution during the Chinese New Year. Five days later, he was sent to a hospital for further persecution. His illness was not treated there and his condition further deteriorated. He even contracted some illnesses that he did not have before, and he was in a critical condition.

Around April 2005, the Fanjiatai Jail released Mr. Xing Guangjun on bail for medical treatment. Mr. Xing was confined to bed and his mental condition was not stable. He could not take care of himself and was completely dependent on his family until he passed away on January 16, 2006.

Mr. Li Guangnian, is a Falun Gong practitioner in a village of Jinmen City, Hubei Province. On October 28, Yang Jinqin, a so-called "assistant professor" of the Shayang Prison General Hospital, gave Mr. Li some kind of injection. After that, Mr. Li lost the function of his legs. He feels pain whether he stands, sits or walks. He cannot stand up after using the toilet. This condition has lasted nearly several months.

 Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Gang and others from Hebei Province were arrested on their way to Zhongguancun, an electronics market in Beijing. National security agents from Baoding City and Zhuozhou City Police Departments, both in Hebei Province, were responsible. The police took two notebook computers, two printers, and more than 15,000 yuan in cash. Mr. Li's life is in danger because he was tortured after being arrested.

Mr. Li Gang was first detained on the fourth floor of the Huadu Hotel located in Gaobeidian City, Hebei Province. He was deprived of the right to sleep, handcuffed, and shocked with electric batons until he became incontinent. He passed out for several hours. One national security agent from Baoding City shouted at him, "Killing one of you is like killing an ant!"

The so-called "Anti-cult Association" and National Security Group of Baoding City booked the whole fourth floor of the Huadu Hotel and said that they were dealing with four arrested Falun Gong practitioners. This is another persecution incident following the meeting of official authorities in Zhuozhou City. We learned that a Falun Gong materials production site in Zhuozhou City was destroyed recently. The equipment was taken away and practitioners were arrested.

Mr. Li Gang has been on hunger strike for 11 days and has been sent to Ankang Hospital Emergency Room to be force-fed many times. He is now very weak despite his previous strength.

 I am a handicapped person with brain paralysis. People always laughed at me and ridiculed me so frequently that, more than once, I had the idea of ending my life. My mother and I began Falun Gong practice in 1997. After practice, I started to realize the true meaning of life. As I elevated my mind nature, my physical condition and personal image improved a great deal. Falun Gong gives me the strength to keep on living. For that reason, mother and I did not hesitate about going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong when Falun Gong was being slandered and persecuted.

On the evening of October 1, 2001, mother and I went to Tiananmen Square and we spread out Falun Gong banners. As we raised the banners, some uniformed and plainclothes policemen swarmed all over us. They dragged us to a remote corner where there were few visitors and searched us. They then dispatched a police vehicle to come and haul us away. We were taken to Qianmen Police Station. As we entered the hallway, they took a picture of mother when she was unaware of it. When they were about to take a picture of me, mother became aware and stood in front of me to prevent it. They dragged mother away and locked her in a big cage. Three or four policemen held me down in an effort to take a picture of me. I thought to myself that I couldn't let them do as they wished. I used all my strength to resist. One policeman said he couldn't grip my hair because it was too short. Another police officer said, "Why not just twist her neck and break it?"

Upon seeing this, mother shouted in the cage loudly, "The police are mistreating a handicapped child!" They didn't stop even though they were tearing my undergarments. It went on for half an hour without success in taking my picture. Thus, they put me in the cage. A little later, some policemen took us to a room and wanted to register us. We only told them that we came to tell the government what was on our minds and that "Falun Dafa is good, and we have personally benefited from practicing it." Other than that, we didn't tell them anything. Two plainclothes policemen came in afterwards. One of them took a camera and grabbed mother's hair to take her picture by force. When they were about to take my picture, I walked to them and tried to knock down their camera. They evaded me but couldn't take my picture. Because we didn't tell them our names or address, the police again locked us in the cage.

In a short while, a policeman got us out of the cage and asked for our names and address again. This time his approach was of a milder manner and he also ordered some food for us. We told him that we weren't hungry, that we didn't break any law and that good people shouldn't be locked up here. Realizing he couldn't get what he wanted, he started to threaten us, "You don't know what is best for you and there are many more unyielding people than you. If you don't behave, we have means to deal with you!" He told mother complacently, "We know how to handle people like you and the idiot child. We'll send you to a hospital and give you a shot. You will not know anything about gong. We'll have the CCTV's 'Focal Point' people broadcast a story about a woman with her child practicing Falun Gong and that the normal child has become an idiot."

Mother said, "This is a lie. It is illegal!" He said, "We'll listen to whoever offers us money. I am not afraid to tell you this. All of CCTV's 'Focal Point' news about Falun Gong has come from us, right here. Whatever our superior says you are, that is what will be reported."

We ignored him. They again locked us in the iron cage. There was an elderly fellow practitioner already in the cage. Soon after, they took mother away. I was worried about her and started shouting. After some time they brought mother back. They kept taking mother for questioning all night long. At daybreak, more practitioners were brought in. I saw some male practitioners that were beaten and bloody all over their bodies because they refused to have their pictures taken. Some who were beaten were missing their shoes. They were tearing the clothing of some female practitioners just like they tore mine. I also saw several policemen using batons to beat a female practitioner.

Afterwards, they took mother away again. Meanwhile, from outside the cage, they were trying to take a picture of me in secret. I knew their stated intention of exploiting my handicap, so I turned around and faced the wall to avoid such an occurrence. After a while, mother was brought back to the cage. Mother told me that they had beaten her in an effort to force her to tell them her name and address. When mother refused to tell them, they kicked her in the ribs and lower body. When mother still refused to say anything, they howled, "If you were here a little earlier, I would have killed you already." In the afternoon, one policeman whispered to the other, "Maybe we should just take them to the square, pour gasoline over them and burn them. We'll say they were victims of self-immolation with hopes of going to heaven."

The police tried every means without succeeding to get our names and address. Thus, they had the provincial local liaison offices in Beijing try to identify us, but they could not identify any one of us. The police then dragged us away one by one. I heard a policeman viciously say, "I'll find a good place for you. I just don't believe when you get to the basement your mouths will still be so tight." Mother and I were very surprised that there was a basement where they torture practitioners.

When the two of us were the only people left in the cage, a police chief told us we could go home. It was dark when we were released from the police branch station. We knew we needed to expose their vicious act. We quickly went to a friend's home to tell them what had happened.

 Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhou Jingcheng, 42, lives in Ningxiang County, Changsha City, Hunan Province. He started practicing Falun Gong in 1996. On January 4, 2006, the county's national security agents and police from Meijiatian Station arrested him at his family-owned store without just cause. They sent him to be detained in the Shaoshan City National Security Group. On January 5, 2006, he was locked in Jin City Prison in the Changde Prefecture. He has been on hunger strike without water to protest the persecution. He has been brutally force-fed, causing four of his front teeth to break off. His life is in danger. Fellow practitioners, whoever sees this news, please help rescue him.

Since the persecution began on July 20, 1999, Mr. Zhou has been mistreated and harassed multiple times, without living one day in peace.

On July 22, 1999, Mr. Zhou Jingcheng was detained for 13 days. Authorities extorted five thousand yuan from him.

In 2000, natinal security agents harassed him three times at his home, and detained him four times. Among these four times, in November 2000, he was detained for 28 days and had fifteen thousand yuan extorted from him because he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. In December 2000, he was sent to two years of forced labor by the Ningxiang County's national security agents, and was locked in the Xinkaipu Labor Camp located in Changsha City until May 23, 2002.

In June 2002, he was detained for eight days by national security agents because he contacted his fellow practitioners. A further five thousand yuan was escorted from him.

On October 28, 2002, Ningxiang County's national security agents deceived him, and locked him in Baimaqiao Police Station with excuse of "assisting police work." He was deprived of his right to sleep or to eat for five whole days, tortured by 5-6 guards (in turns) that cruelly beat him. He went through all sorts of torture. He was tortured to the point of death many times. Without notifying his family, he was sent to another two years of forced labor locked in the Xinkaipu Labor Camp until September 2004.

In October 2004, Mr. Zhou was arrested again by Shaoshan City policemen when passing out truth clarification VCDs on the road between Ningxiang County and Shaoshan City. He was sentenced to six years in prison. He had been on hunger strike without water ever since he was detained in the Shaoshan City Detention Center. The Jin City Prison refused to accept him since he was dying. His family picked him up after 49 days hunger strike without water, and his family was extorted of another five thousand yuan.

In 2005, Ningxiang County's National Security Agent Liao Wenjian (male) demanded one of Mr. Zhou Jingcheng's customer's to accept five thousand yuan in exchange for asking Mr. Zhou for a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, thereby fabricating an excuse to arrest Mr. Zhou yet again. The customer refused to cooperate with such evil.

Ningxiang County's national security agents committed many more misdeeds in the persecution. For instance,

(1) Falun Gong practitioner Gaibaoling High School Teacher Zhu (teaches 9^th grade) from Jinghuapu Township was secretly sent to Xinkaipu Labor Camp, and the national security agents threatened the whole school stating, "Whoever talks about Teacher Zhu's forced labor term will be dismissed from work or expelled from school."

(2) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Gang and his wife Yang Cuiying (who own Wang Gang Photography on Baima Blvd.) were sentenced to two years of forced labor, and locked in the Xinkaipu Labor Camp and Baimalong Labor Camp.

(3) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Sun Wu from Beitang Township was sentenced to two years forced labor, and locked in Xinkaipu Labor Camp.

(4) When national security agents discovered that Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Liqiang's home (located in Shahe Market) was a materials site, they installed a hidden camera across the street. After long-term monitoring, they destroyed the center, and sent both Ms. Wang Liqiang and Ms. Liu Meijun (also a practitioner, a retired doctor from the County Chinese Medicine Hospital) to two years forced labor in Baimalong Women's Labor Camp. The camp refused to accept them because Ms. Wang appeared very sick. They were both detained in the County Detention Center for a period of time. Ms. Wang Liqiang was released, but Ms. Liu was sent to the Baimalong Labor Camp again.

(5) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Zhiqiang from Shahe Market was followed by the County national security agents for several months. He was arrested by Changsha City national security agents on December 20, 2005, and sent to Changqiao Labor Camp on December 23, 2005, to serve a two-year forced labor term.

 The Jiaozuo Prefecture in Henan Province is one of the worst areas where severe persecution of Falun Gong takes place. The persecution was done openly at the beginning, but in recent years it happens behind closed doors. The Public Security Departments, Procuratorate Departments and the courts under the leadership of the evil Communist Party Committee in Jiaozuo City have committed horrendous crimes against Falun Gong practitioners.

After Falun Gong practitioners' peaceful appeal in Beijing on April 25, 1999, in the Jiaozuo area Falun Gong was vilified in a way that shocked the world. Miao Shaoyong, the then-Secretary of the County Committee of Wushe County, openly slandered Falun Gong during meetings of government officials. Falun Gong practitioners in Jiaozuo City videotaped such scenes from TV news reruns and they went to the Jiaozuo Appeal Office to appeal. The County Committee was terrified. But the evil communist government of Wuzhi County, well-versed in fabricating lies, produced another news series to cover up their crimes. The Communist bureaucrats in Jiaozuo City colluded with one another and dismissed the demand from local Falun Gong practitioners that the Committee of Wuzhi County apologize to the people of Wuzhi.

Since the persecution of Falun Gong started on July 20, 1999, almost all Falun Gong practitioners in Jiaozuo City have been harassed and pressured in efforts to make them give up their belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance."

In 2002, police from Dongfanghong Police substation arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Bai Aixiang while she was painting a truth-clarifying message on a wall. The perpetrator Wu Xiaohua brutally beat her. Under the unbearable torture, she jumped from the second story and fractured her feet. She was sent to the People's Hospital in the city and stayed there for a whole week. But then she was announced dead by the police who monitored her during her stay in the hospital. Her death was very suspicious. Even the officials from the inside the Public Security Department felt strange about Ms. Bai's sudden death.

In August 2004, 12 people in Jiaozuo City were secretly sentenced. The longest term was 10 years in prison. No court notice was ever issued. Around the Chinese New Year of 2005 at least 7 elderly Falun Gong practitioners were arrested. In September and October, two waves of brainwashing sessions were held, and over ten people were forced to attend. The 610 Office developed Ma Xinlai as a spy. He is now the administrator in charge of security in the Control Center in Macun Mining Site. In this role he actively extorts money and persecutes Falun Gong practitioners. As a result, in May of 2005, Han Sigang, a Falun Gong practitioner from Xi Yuan Mining Mountain, was put into the Custodial Station in Qingyang City.

Even after the "Falun Dafa Association Announcement" (a statement that gave all perpetrators of the persecution an opportunity to publicly announce an apology or face lawsuits when traveling overseas) was published on October 9, 2005, the incidents of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners continued to occur in Jiaozuo City.

Falun Gong practitoner Liu Jihui worked in Shanxi and came to Jiaozuo to visit relatives. As he handed out truth-clarifying materials in the City People's Park on November 13, police from the Park Police Substation arrested him. He is now detained in the Custodial Station.

Falun Gong practitioners Li Shuting and Wei Congling were arrested when they were clarifying the truth to people around them on their trip to Huangshan Mountain. They were detained for over two months. On December 7 Li Zhanhai and Li Tao from the Public Security Department Jiefang Branch sentenced them to 24 and 27 months in a labor camp, respectively.

On December 20, police from the Public Security Department Jiefang Branch raided Li Shuting's home and arrested her daughter-in-law, Ge Xiaocui, also a Falun Gong practitioner.

Falun Gong practitioners Liang Xiangfu and Xu Guiqin were arrested on December 3 when they were clarifying the truth and detained in the City Custodial Station.

One lady changed her bad behavior after she learned the truth about Falun Gong in the Custodial Center. She started to treat people kindly using "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" as guidance. She passed around the truth-clarifying materials she picked up in the street. She was later detained by the perpetrators, yet she managed to escape by maintaining upright thoughts.

According to reliable sources, when the upper echelons of the Public Security Bureau made inspections and asked if the Nine Commentaries had been received, other cities replied "No," whereas the Public Security Department in Jiaozuo City handed in hundreds of copies of Nine Commentaries in one shot. From this incident you could see the evilness of the police in Jiaozuo City. The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party is a book that exposes the evil nature of the wicked Communist Party, and awakens the world's people who have been poisoned by the Communist Party culture.

On November 9, 2005, captain Yang Yanguo and others severely beat Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu Baotian because he refused to take notes during a brainwashing session held in the Fourth Group of the Huludao Forced Labor Camp in Liaoning Province. They struck his face, chest, and head. Both his face and head were bleeding and swollen from the beatings.

Practitioners Mr. Li Qin and Ms. Pi Fenghua, husband and wife, and Ms. Yu Xiaojuan, all from Lishu County, Jilin Province, were arrested in July 2005. They are being tortured at the county detention center. Ms. Pi Fenghua can no longer walk as a result of torture. In December 2005, the three of them were sentenced without due process. Ms. Yu Xiaojuan received a three-year sentence and is being held at Changchun City Heizuizi Women's Prison. Mr. Li Qin received a three-year sentence and is being held at Jilin Prison. On January 6, 2006, Mr. Li Gang and Mr. Li Qiang, and two others from Zhuozhou City of Hebei Province were arrested by Zhuozhou City Public Security Bureau on their way to Beijing.

5. [Hubei Province] Zhang Lihua Detained at the First Detention Center of Danjiangkou City

It was recently learned that Ms. Zhang Lihua from Wudangshan was arrested by police from Danjiangkou City on December 25, 2005, and she was detained at the First Detention Center of Danjiangkou City and is still there.

6. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Sha Yongzhi Sentenced to Two Years of Forced Labor

Ms. Sha Yongzhi was an excellent teacher of Wang Lin second high school at Suining, Xuzhou City. Because she distributed the "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party," at 8:00 a.m. on September 21, 2005 she was arrested and taken to the County Public Security Bureau by police from the County Public Security Bureau, National Security Bureau and the 610 Office. Sha Yongzhi was beaten and tortured for two days then was transferred to the county detention center. In October she was sent to a forced labor camp at Dafeng Fangqiang, Yancheng City.

7. [Nanning City, Guangxi Province] Wang Liya is Detained

Ms. Deng Hongxia, Ms. Wang Liya, Mr. Huang Qingyu, Mr. Zhong Erbo and others were arrested by the 610 Office, the Public Security Bureau and the National Security Bureau in Nanning City in May, September and October 2005 respectively. They were detained at the Second Detention Center of Nanning City.

8. [Yuanyang City, Henan Province] Zhao Jingyu Sentenced to Eighteen Months of Forced Labor

On December 9, 2005, Mr. Zhao Jingyu from Yuanyang County was handing out truth clarification materials at Liu Village, Qiliying Township, Xiaoji Town, and he was arrested and taken to detention center of Xinxiang County. His family members requested to visit him, and the detention center said they would be allowed to visit him only after they paid 2,000 yuan. Zhao Jingyu's wife had no choice but to give them 2,000 yuan, however she still was not allowed to see her husband. One month later, the public security bureau of Xinxiang County sent Zhao Jingyu to Xu Chang for an eighteen month term at a forced labor camp.

Recently, the couple Mr. Huang Zhiqiang and Ms. Li Xiurong was arrested by police from the Weibei Police Substation in Weibin District.

9. [Huizhou City, Guangdong Province] Deng Yuping Detained at the Gu Tangao Detention Center in Huicheng District

In December 2005, Deng Yuping from Huizhou City, Guangdong Province was arrested by police in Huicheng District because he distributed Falun Gong truth clarification materials. He is presently detained at the Gu Tangao Detention Center of Huicheng District.

10. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Lianjun Arrested at his Home in Jinzhou District, Dalian City by Police on the Evening of December 28, 2005

11. [Harbin City, Helongjiang Province] Ms. Dai Xiuyun was Arrested at Home

Between 6:00 and 7:00 a.m. on September 23, 2005 the National Security Group in Harbin City, together with Gongcheng Police Substation in Daoli District broke into the homes of Ms. Dai Xiuyun, Ms. Zhou Yulan, Ms. Zhang Yan and Chang Jing. They took away Ms. Dai Xiuyun, Zhou Yulan and Zhang Yan. Ms. Yang Yunqiu, Ms. Wei Shuxia and Mr. Yuan Shengzong were also arrested.

At 4:00 p.m. on November 30, 2005 three policemen from the National Security Group in Daoli District, Harbin City arrested Mr. Liu Tao from his workplace. Wang Yubin from Daoli District National Security Group directly engaged in persecution. His phone number is 86-451-87663151.

12. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Fu Weijia and Zhao Qunshan were Arrested

On the evening of December 29, 2005, Ms. Fu Weijia and Zhao Qunshan were arrested when they handed out Falun Gong truth clarification materials in Xushi Town, Junshan District, Yueyang City. They are detained at the first detention center of Yueyang City.

13. [Haifeng County, Guangdong Province] Cheng Jianguo Detained at Sanshui Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Cheng Jianguo of Haifeng County, Guangdong Province was arrested at home by staff of the 610 Office in September 2005. He was later sentenced to one year of forced labor and he is detained at the forced labor camp in Sanshui.

14. Fang Zhijun and Lu Pingyi Detained at Huizhou Detention Center

Ms. Fan Zhijun, 40, was a doctor. Since 1999, she went to Beijing four times to appeal for Falun Gong, and she was sentenced to forced labor twice by the local authorities. In 2005, when she and fellow practitioner Mr. Lu Pingyi, along with his wife and five other people handed out CDs for Falun Gong truth clarification, they were followed by the police. On May 23, 2005 all five of them were arrested and sent to Boluo Detention Center. Later they were transferred to Huizhou Detention Center.

Lu Beibei, 14, the daughter of the Lu Pingyi couple, was left alone without care.

1. [Mengyin City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Shuanglan and Others Are Arrested and Their Homes Ransacked

At 9 p.m. on January 5, 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Shuanglan was arrested and taken to the police station of Duozhuang Town, Mengyin City. More than 20 policemen surrounded her house and ransacked it. Ms. Liu's husband, a non-practitioner, was also arrested and detained in the Duozhuang Town Police Station. Mr. Gong Quanrong was also arrested and detained in the police dtation and his home ransacked.

At 11 a.m. on January 6, 2006, five policemen barged into Ms. Liu Qinglian's house and took away her Falun Gong books. Ms. Liu escaped. Ms. Liu's whereabouts are not clear. The police then arrested Ms. Liu's two daughters at work and took them to the Duozhuang Town Police Station.

In the middle of the night on January 6, 2006, Mr. Liu Xinglin was arrested and taken to the police station of Duozhuang Town. Falun Gong books were taken.

2. [Jiangsu Province] Ms. Wang Yamin Tortured to Unconsciousness and Facing Trial

Practitioner Ms. Wang Yamin from Donghai County, Jiangsu Province, was tortured until she became unconscious. She did not respond when someone called her name, asked her to use chopsticks to eat, etc. On January 16, 2006, the local court will put her on trial. Ms. Wang is still in the detention center.

3. [Yongnian County, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Zhenzhong Tortured by Damaging Force-feeding; in Critical Condition in Handan City Brainwashing

Practitioner Mr. Li Zhenzhong from Xiaoxi Street, Mingguan Town in Yongnian County, has been on a hunger strike for more than a month at the Handan City Brainwashing Center. Police officers brutally force-fed him by using chopsticks and spoons to pry open his mouth. Mr. Li's life is in danger. Mr. Li was taken to the Gastro-Intestinal Department of Handan City Central Hospital.

4. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Police Arrest Mr. Huang Zhiqiang and His Wife Li Xiurong, and Others

At 5 p.m. on January 6, 2006, 610 officers from Xinxiang City, Henan Province; policemen from the Hongqi Division; and local police from the Xida Street Station barged into practitioner Mr. Li Beiping's house and ransacked it. Mr. Li Beiping; Ms. Pan Xuehui, a nanny; and Mr. Zhou Qing were arrested. Policemen took computer(s), printer(s), money, CD(s), flyers, etc. They also took many other materials by unlocking the garage.

Before the above incident, the police arrested Ms. Zhao Tingyun outside of Mr. Li's house. At the same time, police from Weibei Police Station in the Weibin District arrested practitioner Mr. Huang Zhiqiang and his wife, Li Xiurong, and took them to Xinxiang City Detention Center. On January 10, 2006, Mr. Li Beiping, and Mr. Zhou Qing were released.

5. [Neihuang County, Henan Province] Mr. Hua Jun Arrested

On the night of January 11, 2006, practitioner Mr. Hua Jun from Neihuang County, Henan Province, was arrested when passing out flyers. The police took him to the West Neihuang County Prison.

6. [Jiaoxi Town, Shandong Province] Ms. Cheng Yulan Arrested

On January 6, 2006, Ms. Cheng Yulan from Jiaoxi Town, in Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province, was arrested. The police took her to the detention center.

7. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Gang and Others on a Hunger Strike after Being Arrested

On January 6, 2006, practitioners Mr. Li Gang and Mr. Li Qiang (both aliases) and other two practitioners from Zhuozhou City were arrested on the way to Beijing by police from the Zhuozhou City Department. They've been on a hunger strike for seven days to protest the illegal torture at the Zhuozhou City Detention Center.

8. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Lin Yanping and Mr. Lu Qiufa's Home Ransacked

At 9 p.m. on January 12, 2006, the Police Department of Jieyang City, Guangdong Province; 610 police officer Zhang Youcai (male); and Dongxing Police Station of Dongxing District, with a total of six police officers, barged into practitioner Mr. Lin Yanping and Mr. Lu Qiufa's house to search and took computer electronics.

9. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Yuan Yinying and Mr. Huang Jianming Arrested

On 8 p.m. of January 12, 2006, 610 officers from the Dongshan District in Jieyang City, Guangdong Province, and Dongyang Police station arrested practitioners Ms. Yuan Yinying and Mr. Huang Jianming. They are illegally detained at the Dongshan Detention Center in Dongshan District Police Department.

On the morning of January 12, 2006, Ms. Sheng Xilan and her son, Hei Yan; practitioner Fan; practitioner Hou; and Ms. Wei Yulan were reported by a neighbor while reading Falun Gong books together. Police from the Police Department of Qingdao City arrested them. They have been detained at Yunnan Street Police Station of Qingdao City. Afterwards, the police took Falun Gong books, flyers, and 1500 yuan from Mr. Hei Yan, which is his daughter's living expenses.

11. [Wuhan City] Ms. Luo Jing Arrested at Shenzhen City

In December 2005, Ms. Luo Jing went to Shenzhen City as a tourist. She was reported when passing out clarifying the truth CDs from the taxi by the taxi driver. She has been detained for a month now.

12. [Weifang Prefecture, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Meiyun from Gaomi City Arrested

On December 14, 2005, practitioner Ms. Li Meiyun from Huanli Village, Damoujia Town in Gaomi City, was arrested by local police officers. They then ransacked Ms. Li's house.
