At about 4 p.m. on July 20, 2005, Australian Falun Gong practitioners gathered in front of the Melbourne State Capitol and exposed the six-year persecution of Falun Gong in China. Practitioners also called upon the Australian government and the public to condemn the atrocities committed by the Chinese communist regime and help stop the persecution.

Spokesperson of the New South Wales (NSW) Falun Gong Association said, "Since the Chinese communist regime officially began its overall persecution against Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, more than 2,700 practitioners are known to have died from the persecution over the past six years. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has employed nearly one quarter of the country's resources to suppress Falun Gong. Nevertheless, Falun Gong practitioners have peacefully and rationally resisted the violence and deceit, and filed lawsuits against the perpetrators including Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan to international courts. Up to this point, Falun Gong is practiced in more than 70 countries throughout the world. More and more people have learned about the truth of Falun Gong.

Mr. Ruan Jie, Chairman of the NSW chapter of the Chinese Labor Party and Mr. Zhang Weiqiang, Secretary of Australia Chapter of Chinese Democracy Movement, addressed the rally and expressed their support of Falun Gong practitioners in opposing the persecution. They called upon the Australian people to support these just actions.

From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., the practitioners went to the Chinese Consulate and held a candlelight vigil there to commemorate fellow practitioners who have died from the persecution. Practitioner Ms. Wang said, "It is the fifth time that I came here to attend the candlelight vigil outside the Chinese Consulate. More and more calls against the persecution can be heard from all over the world. I've seen that more and more practitioners are coming here to join the candlelight vigil. The power of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance" can overcome all evil."

Belgium: Falun Gong Practitioners File a Lawsuit Against CCP Officials for Telephone Harassment

On Tuesday July 19th 2005, the eve of the 6th anniversary since Falun Gong was banned in China on July 20th 1999, Mr. Georges-Henri Beauthier, a prestigious human rights lawyer, filed a lawsuit on behalf of two Falun Gong practitioners in Brussels. The lawsuit was for the crime of harassment and was filed against China's 610 Office and the responsible Chinese officials including: 610 Office head and member of the Committee of Political and Legislative Affairs Luo Gan, Minister of Public Security Zhou Yongkang, Deputy Minister of Public Security Liu Jing and Minister of State Security Xu Yongyue. The lawsuit has been accepted by the Belgian court.

Practitioners in Belgium hold a press conference regarding the lawsuit against the 610 Office.

Similar to the Gestapo set up to persecute the Jewish people, the "610 Office" was established by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. The CCP's Committee of Political and Legislative Affairs, Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of State Security all participated in the persecution directly. Disregarding the law and adopting all of the means of persecution and suppression that the CCP has developed in over fifty years of tyranny, the "610 Office" has carried out a brutal persecution against Falun Gong practitioners for the past six years. Hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners have been illegally tortured or cruelly murdered in China. The resultant tragedies are so numerous that they can't be fully documented. The persecution was later extended to other countries, where a great number of Chinese spies were posted to monitor and harass Falun Gong practitioners.

In early February, Falun Gong practitioners in over twenty countries around the world received harassing phone calls from unidentified sources. In Chinese or English, the voice recording carried the CCP's slanderous propaganda against Falun Gong. The two Belgian practitioners who filed the lawsuit also received these phone calls. In a press conference held at the Belgian court, the plaintiffs gave detailed accounts of the phone harassment.

Between February 2nd and February 11th 2005, one of the plaintiffs received several dozens recorded messages on his mobile phone from unidentified sources. At its peak, eight calls were received in a single day. The content of the harassing calls was a voice recording that defamed Falun Gong. The phone calls also intimidated the recipient to stop practicing. The plaintiff said, "I know the Chinese Communist regime has been monitoring me for a long time. They never approved my visa application for visiting China."

Another plaintiff also received similar recorded phone calls from China. The number of phone calls reached several dozen each day. The plaintiff pointed out that the Chinese Communist regime attempted to harass and terrify her through these phone calls. The reason for the harassment is that the recent publication of a special editorial series called "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party" by The Epoch Times newspaper has resulted in over 3 million people withdrawing from the CCP and has left the Chinese Communist regime in a panic. As a result, the CCP carried out their harassment.

Mr. Georges-Henri Beauthier filed a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, Li Lanqing and Luo Gan for crimes of "torture, crimes against humanity and genocide" on behalf of Falun Gong practitioners in Belgium two years ago. He said in the press conference, "Judging from the contents of the voice recording and the measures they resorted to, it is clear that the Chinese Communist authorities have been manipulating things behind the scenes. The Chinese Communist regime has dispatched a great number of spies to foreign countries for espionage activities, including monitoring Falun Gong practitioners and political dissidents. Recently, a lot of them were found in Australia, Canada and Europe."

Mr. Beauthier emphasized, "This kind of harassment violates Belgian law and international practice. It imposes a great challenge against our belief and freedom. This threatening conduct should be stopped, at least in Belgium." When asked by reporters about the prospect of the lawsuit, Mr. Beauthier commented, "It all depends on the Chinese Government and the reactions of the European governments. We look forward to seeing trials in Europe against the continuous human rights infringements in China." So far, there have been over fifty lawsuits filed in thirty-two countries around the world against the prime culprits of the persecution against Falun Gong.

At the end of the press conference, Mr. Beauthier said, "We have filed a complaint against the responsible people who persecuted Falun Gong over here before. The defendants didn't dare to come to Belgium. Not long ago, a defendant was prosecuted in France immediately after his arrival. As a result, the defendant fled from France hurriedly. We will continue to push ahead these lawsuits in Belgium and other countries."

News media, including the Belga News Agency, NTDTV and The Epoch Times all dispatched correspondents to provide coverage of this event.

Germany: Appealing at the Chinese Consulate in Munich after Six Years of Persecution

On July the 20th 2005, Falun Gong practitioners from Munich and nearby areas gathered at the Chinese Consulate to protest against the six years of brutal persecution against Falun Gong.

Peaceful protest against the brutal persecution in front of the Chinese Consulate

According to the statistics from ClearWisdom.Net, to date 2,711 practitioners are known to have been killed in this persecution. Nearly one hundred million Falun Gong practitioners have been deprived of the right to believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance", and countless families have been broken up. Countless families have been torn apart.

With the Falun Gong practitioners' large-scale international efforts to stop these human rights abuses, many governments, organizations and individuals are highly concerned about the persecution of Falun Gong today. However, instead of self-restraint, the Chinese Communist regime is taking crueler and more brutal approaches to deal with Falun Gong practitioners, by killing practitioners at will and overtly challenging the consciences of all the people around the world.

Falun Gong practitioner Gao Rongrong's face was horrifically disfigured by the police because she refused to renounce her belief. This was widely exposed to the world but she was still persecuted to death on June the 16th this year. In addition to Gao Rongrong, there have been 372 Falun Gong practitioners persecuted to death by brutal methods, including continuously depriving them of sleep for many days, multiple high voltage electric batons applied to various parts of the body for long periods of time including the mouth, chest, armpits, breasts and genitals, water dungeons, iron nails being pierced under the fingernails, pliers twisting the flesh, forced feedings with feces, injection or forced consumption of large doses of drugs that can cause the destruction of the central nervous system, and so on.

On July 12th, 2005, Clearwisdom.Net posted a letter sent by practitioner Wang Guijin from a detention centre. She was illegally detained many times because she remained steadfast in her practice. In her latest arrest, she was pressed down by eight police officers and forced to have an abortion. A nine-month-old living fetus was thus killed.

As she never gave up practicing Falun Gong, she was illegally sentenced to five years in prison. A few days after her letter was sent, she was transferred to an unknown place. Upon hearing the horrendous facts, many German people were shocked and angry. Some wanted to sign the petition to support Falun Gong, while others expressed that they would read the information about Falun Gong carefully.

Denmark: Anti-Torture Exhibition Held in Copenhagen Marks Six Years of Persecution

On July 20 six years ago, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Jiang Zemin initiated a brutal campaign of persecution against Falun Gong, outlawing the practice's principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. This persecution campaign has proved to be the most evil in human history, as the CCP has used all the means of persecution that it has perfected in its last 50+ years of tyrannical power. From 1999 onwards, Falun Gong practitioners around the world have carried out a just, peaceful, rational and uncompromising mission to stop the persecution and tell all people, governments and organizations the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution in China.

On the afternoon of July 16, 2005, Falun Gong practitioners from Denmark and Sweden went to the largest square in Copenhagen, Kongens Nytorv, to expose the on-going campaign of genocide against Falun Gong in China and to show to the world Falun Gong practitioners' peaceful character and determined courage that is cultivated through following the universal principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance."

The persecution is happening in China

In this anti-torture exhibition, practitioners used live simulations of torture as well as many poster displays showing what Falun Gong is, and giving more details about the persecution in China and the extension of this persecution to the rest of the world. By July 20, 2005, the number of documented deaths of Falun Gong practitioners at the hands of the CCP had reached 2,684, although the number of unreported deaths is believed to be far higher. Six years of non-stop appeals and other efforts by Falun Gong practitioners have helped the world's people to see the nature of this persecution.

The persecution is happening in China

The summer in northern Europe is the peak tourist season. Streams of tourists from around the world come to visit northern Europe's largest city, Copenhagen. People came to ask practitioners for information in their own languages.

    People learn the truth

The brutal scene depicting the vivid torture shocked every passer-by. During the whole torture re-enactment, there were always many people watching. They stayed for a long while, carefully reading through all the posters and the leaflet designed by practitioners to mark the sixth anniversary of "7.20." A lot of people talked to practitioners to learn more. Many others also listened to the explanation of the anti-torture exhibition from the loudspeaker. Countless people expressed their condemnation of the ongoing persecution in China. They also criticized and condemned western political circles and media who have stayed quiet about the persecution for economic reasons. Many people recorded this shocking scene with their cameras and camcorders.

    People are shocked

Pointing to the torture re-enactment scene, an elderly Danish gentleman asked practitioners, "Is this happening in China every day?" When he got an affirmative answer, he sighed sadly. He learned that Falun Gong practitioner Liu Xiaotian's parents both died as a result of persecution when he was only fifteen; overnight he lost his family and everything he had in life. The Danish gentleman cried when he heard this. He held Xiaotian's hands very tightly and tried to comfort him. He talked to many practitioners and stayed for a long time.

    Capturing the unforgettable scene

People who have learned the truth

Children who have learned about the persecution facts

After seeing the anti-torture exhibition, many tourists from different countries came to talk to practitioners, using many different languages. Some came with their whole family. It was often the young children who talked to practitioners in English and then translated for their parents. Many people asked, "How can we help?" or "We support you." People were very critical of the mainstream media for not reporting the true situation in China. Many people realized the evil nature of the Chinese Communist Party. They thought that Western society's naive image of  CCP is very dangerous and the world must reconsider its economic policy towards China.

A six to seven year-old boy from Sweden looked at the torture reenactment scene for a long time. He then found a practitioner and asked the practitioner in his limited English, "What's this?" When he understood after the practitioner's patient explanation, he said, "This, in Sweden, no!"

A Chinese person from Mainland China had a long talk with a Western Falun Gong practitioner. Like many of his compatriots, he was deeply afraid under the Chinese Communist's brutal repression. When he was talking to the practitioners, he kept looking around, fearing that he may be recorded by camcorders. When he got a Video-CD revealing the truth about Falun Gong, he said sincerely, "I am going back to China tomorrow. I will watch the VCD tonight in the hotel. But I dare not take it into China." We truly hope that after learning the truth, this gentleman will stop being frightened, and that he will become strong and justice will grow in his kind heart.

Liu Xiaotian, an orphan of Falun Gong practitioner parents, has himself started to practice after escaping from China. Today he again acted as a practitioner being tortured. He said, "My father and mother lost their lives in this persecution. As a result, I became an orphan. I want to show people the suffering of Falun Gong practitioners in China and I hope that this persecution can be ended soon so that the children of Falun Gong practitioners can have their own happy families and that the tragedy I encountered will not be repeated."

Another practitioner joining the torture re-enactment was a Ms Lin. She obtained her PhD degree in Denmark and is now an engineer engaged in scientific research. She said, "Sitting in the iron cage or having both arms outstretched for a long time really make my body ache, although the suffering is not of the same magnitude as that encountered by practitioners in China. I am willing to use my own suffering to awaken people's conscience and sense of justice so that the persecution can be ended as soon as possible."

    Falun Gong is Great!

Beside a banner reading "Falun Gong is Great", practitioners demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises. This peaceful and gentle scene displayed to the people the beauty of Falun Gong. Many were attracted by the music and the exercises. They asked about the practice sites, where they can learn the exercises for free.

The activity concluded at 7:00 p.m. Practitioners were pleased to see so many kind-hearted people learning the truth. The practitioners expressed that they would hold such truth clarification activities again in the near future.

Taoyuan, Taiwan: Candlelight Vigil and Truth Clarification Photography Exhibit Held on July 20

Falun Gong is practiced by people in over 70 countries and regions in the world, and has been well received by governments and people wherever it has been. Falun Gong has been honored with over 1,300 awards and proclamations and millions of people are practicing it. People can learn free of charge and practitioners do not accept donations. Across Taiwan, there are about 1,000 practice sites. Still, such a popular and beneficial practice has only suffered brutal persecution in Mainland China, where the Communist party rules.

July 20, the anniversary of the persecution, has come again, and people all over the world are calling for putting an end to the persecution of Falun Gong. Falun Gong practitioners in the Taoyuan Area gathered in "No.9 Park" in downtown Chongli to hold a candlelight vigil for Falun Gong practitioners who have lost their lives in the persecution.

At 4:00 p.m., as a prelude to the candlelight vigil, the "Falun Gong Truth Clarification Photography Exhibit" opened. Many people who came to the park to do exercises saw the photos of practitioners who are suffering persecution. They said, "Too cruel!" Some children simply sat in front of the photos and watched attentively. An older man whose original family home is in Mainland China saw the photos depicting Falun Gong's wide spread around the world, and felt puzzled. He asked, "If Falun Gong is really so good, why does the CCP suppress it?" After the guides' explanation, he understood that it is because of the CCP's nature of falsehood, violence and fighting--it opposes Falun Gong practitioners who practice "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance."

Another older man asked politely, "Where is Teacher Li's hometown?" A practitioner answered, "Changchun City, Jilin Province." The older man said happily, "I'm also from the Northeast!" Then he told the practitioner that he was a serviceman, and fought with the CCP from the northeast to the south. When he was a student, the CCP ordered them to line up to see people being criticized, and he also witnessed five people being shot to death. A student whose family circumstances were the best was the first to have his home ransacked. His parents were driven out of their home. "The CCP is so bad!" The older man also said, "Last year when I returned to Mainland China, I asked some officials, 'Why do you persecute Falun Gong? Why shouldn't people have freedom of belief?'" The older man said nobody answered his questions.

Many people learned to practice the five sets of exercises on the spot, and took introductory and truth clarification materials. They suggested that practitioners set up an evening practice site in the park, making it easier for them to come to practice.

At 6:10 p.m., the practitioners gathered on the lawn to practice the meditation. The peaceful and harmonious scene attracted many people's attention. Some people who were doing other exercises stopped and followed the practitioners. At 7:10 p.m., the candlelight vigil began. Two practitioners read a eulogy, and then everyone lit candles and mourned in silence for five minutes. Young Falun Gong practitioners read from Hong Yin. Finally, the activity concluded amidst the singing of a chorus composed of Falun Gong practitioners.
