  • Diplomat Chen Yonglin Presents Evidence Showing the CCP Collecting Names of Overseas Falun Gong Practitioners

Minghui correspondent Xin Yu reports from Sydney: former Chinese diplomat Chen Yonglin left the Chinese consulate and sought political asylum from Australia in May 2005, stating that he no longer wanted to monitor Falun Gong and other dissident groups. After 43 days in hiding, the Australian Immigration Department granted Mr. Chen Yonglin a permanent protection visa. On July 10, Chen Yonglin attended a press conference and a forum with the local Chinese community. He thanked people for their concern and again exposed the CCP's infiltration into and manipulation of overseas Chinese communities. He also presented other evidence, showing how CCP-hired informants provide Chinese consulates with personal information about overseas Falun Gong practitioners and Falun Gong group activities.

For the first time Chen Yonglin presents evidence showing how the CCP compiles blacklists of overseas Falun Gong practitioners through hired informants

At the press conference, Chen Yonglin said the CCP was not satisfied with control and manipulation of people inside China and has extended its reach abroad. He exposed how the CCP controls the overseas media through investments, advertisements and purchases of newspapers, which disseminated verbatim CCP propaganda in Australia. The media and audience were shocked.

Chen Yonglin also displayed some official documents at the press conference from the Chinese consulate that proved the existence of a large number of Chinese spies in Australia, which he had previously indicated. He further permitted the reporters to photograph these documents. Among the documents was detailed personal information of Falun Gong practitioner Kong Huiling and her family from Sydney; information on the Falun Gong group in Australia and the names of more than 300 Falun Gong practitioners the consulate had collected through various means. On the document was the signature of the Deputy Consul-General (of Sydney).

Chen Yonglin warns CCP spies, to free themselves from the shackles of the CCP and live with dignity

Chen Yonglin said that CCP spies and informants in Australia had provided all the information on the documents. Because of his work, he has a list of names of the spies and informants, but he does not want to publicize this list just yet. He said, "Many of them are young; some of them acted on impulse, and some went after money and other personal interests and were used by the CCP. They all have a family and relatives and I don't want them to get hurt. However, just as Fu Ying had said, 'CCP officials will flee like water escaping a dam after the floodgate opened.' If the CCP collapses, it's very likely that their names and personal information will be published, and they will be punished according to Australian laws. I advise them to free themselves from the CCP's shackles as soon as possible and stop assisting the evil CCP; only by doing this will they be saved."

Chen Yonglin explains his motive behind the defection; unwillingness to persecute Falun Gong is an important reason

At the forum, Chen Yonglin explained in detail the reasons for leaving the consulate and the difficulties that confronted him before he was granted a permanent protection visa. He said, "It shows the concepts of democracy and freedom are deeply rooted in the Australian people's hearts. The CCP has tried in vain to enlist Australia as part of its 'clique'." "I am very happy here in Australia, like everyone else, to breath the air of democracy and freedom. This is the feeling of being human, when I can say what's on my mind and do what I want to do. I hope all Chinese people will live with human dignity."

On the topic of his decision to defect, Chen Yonglin said the second reason for leaving the consulate was because he helped Falun Gong practitioners when he worked there. His successor will know about it and report him, and as a result he could be persecuted upon returning to China.

Chen Yonglin stated, "Usually, the CCP government regards Falun Gong practitioners as dangerous characters and refuses to issue them a visa extension. They would also confiscate their passports. According to CCP policies, a passport is the property of the government and can be confiscated as deemed necessary. The CCP's goal is to make the practitioners' lives difficult; in other words, it's persecution. When civil rights activist Mr. Yuan Hongbing first arrived in Sydney, the Deputy Consul-General and Fu Ying, the Chinese ambassador in Canberra, pressured the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Australian Department of Immigration to deny Yuan Hongbing a visa. Their logic was Yuan was applying for a tourist visa; as there are so many tourists from China every year, if Yuan Hongbing was granted a visa, could Australia handle many more Chinese people (following suit)? It is the same reasoning that she (Ms. Fu Ying, current Chinese ambassador in Australia) used a few days ago when she warned the Australia government was 'opening the flood gates' by issuing me a visa. They pressured the Australian government not to give Yuan Hongbing a visa. All they wanted was just to create difficulties in Yuan's life; to make him feel unsafe and to burden his mind. That is her (Ms. Fu Ying) true purpose."

Chen Yonglin said the name of his successor is Gao Li, and he talked to her on the phone before she arrived in Australia. "She should have arrived at the beginning of June, and if she takes over my work she will soon find out what I have done, especially as there was a list of over 800 Falun Gong practitioners. Most of the names don't have passport details or birth data information attached to them, and the list was to be verified by the general consulate. I have deleted these names from the computer at the general consulate, and these practitioners should now have no difficulty applying for a visa. I have dealt with Falun Gong practitioners, and I sympathize with them because they follow Truthfulness- Compassion-Tolerance. I particularly feel their honesty and kindness. The reason the CCP thinks Falun Gong is easy to control and persecute is because the practitioners are very honest. When they come to the consulate to apply for a visa and we ask them if they practice Falun Gong, they would either answer yes or they wouldn't say anything. It's therefore easy to tell, because they don't lie."

"In 2003, Yuan Jing, the deputy director of the Central Office to Prevent and Deal With *** Cult, told me that at the moment 60,000 Falun Gong practitioners were being put under persecution. Among those, 30,000 were held in prisons and labor camps, and 30,000 were being brainwashed and monitored by the local government, the district government and the Street Party Committee. These numbers shocked me. The CCP claims it usually resorts to the policy of 'unite, educate and reform' in dealing with Falun Gong practitioners. The so-called 'unite' and 'educate' actually means brainwashing, and it is the same method that is used on CCP members. Since the massacre on June 4, 1989, the CCP has been brainwashing people with theories specifically targeting civil rights. Later, Jiang's 'Three Talks' and 'Three Represents' and Hu Jintao's 'Education of Maintaining Advancements' came out. At the end of last year, the general consulate in Sydney told me to write a summary report, the gist of which is, the general consulate in Sydney has gained much progress with its Education of Maintaining Advancements, and we will put an end to this period of Education of Maintaining Advancements. All of these are indicative of the true nature of the CCP."

Chen Yonglin said he might submit a list of CCP spies to the Australian government

It was learned that Chen Yonglin has submitted a list of local Falun Gong practitioners' names to the Australian government. Chen Yonglin says this list is enough to prove that the Chinese government has dispatched or hired many informants in Chinese communities throughout Australia.

According to the Australia Broadcast Company (ABC), Chen Yonglin also said he has a list of the names of CCP spies in Australia, and he would publish this list if necessary. He said there are two types of Chinese diplomats in Australia: the first deals with foreign affairs and administrative tasks; and the other collects information.

Chen Yonglin called on these spies to quickly give up their job and truly become part of a democratic society. Chen Yonglin said many of these people have families, and he hopes they can stop participating in espionage activities so as not to bring harm to themselves and their families.

It is said that the Intelligence Agency in Australia has expressed interest in Chen Yonglin's claims and will keep in touch with him.

Australia: Before July 20, Falun Gong Practitioners' Parade in Melbourne Moves People's Hearts

On the early morning of Saturday, July 16, Melbourne Falun Gong practitioners went to the City Square in Downtown Melbourne and began a series of activities against the persecution of Falun Gong. Practitioners held group practice and a grand parade.

Reenactment of torture methods used against practitioners shocks people

It was cloudy in Melbourne that day. The cold wind blew hard and it seemed as if a rainstorm was coming. Falun Gong practitioners were not affected by the weather at all. They silently practiced the Falun Gong exercises and the entire scene was very peaceful.

At noon, the practitioners' march set off. They paraded through the downtown area, including Chinatown. Three children who held in hands the signs with words, Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, respectively, led the procession. A waist drum troupe and a flag team who carried seven flags of different colors including red, orange, yellow, green, blue green, blue, and purple followed the children. Behind them was a group of practitioners who held photos of fellow practitioners who died from the persecution. After them was a display of the torture methods used in the persecution and a team calling to bring Jiang to justice.

The parade proceeded through the busy downtown area and attracted many people's attention. In particular, when the carts on which the torture methods were reenacted passed by, people were shocked. Practitioners who went with the carts continuously explained to people, "The Chinese Communist regime is persecuting innocent Falun Gong practitioners this way." While explaining, they also distributed truth-clarification materials to people on the roadsides. A western lady said with surprise, "Oh, it's Falun Gong! I have to take a careful look!" Several students from Hong Kong said while watching the parade, "Wow, it turns out that all these are real. Previously, I did not believe it, but now I do." A young lady was shocked at the torture reenactment and said, "I've never heard of Falun Gong before. Thank you very much for telling me!" Some passersby said with tears hanging in their eyes, "We are aware of your situation. We wish you good luck!"

After the two-hour parade, practitioners went back to the City Square. It started raining hard. People who watched parade still read the truth-clarifying materials, opening their eyes and hearts.

Germany: Introducing the Falun Gong Exercises During a Cultural Event in Wiesbaden

On July 8th 2005, Falun Gong practitioners from nearby areas were invited to take part in the annual Wiesbaden town district cultural event. One of the categories for the event was entitled "Martial Arts, Healing and Meditation", which Falun Gong practitioners participated in, introducing the fives sets of slow-moving and peaceful Falun Gong exercises to the crowd.

The audience participate in learning the first Falun Gong exercise

Shortly after some Germans had demonstrated some Chinese martial arts, such as Shaolin Kung-fu and Tai Chi, five Falun Gong practitioners dressed in golden practice outfits took to the stage to perform the five sets of Falun Gong exercises. The participants were both German and Chinese, old and young. While the exercises were being performed, another practitioner, who was explaining the individual exercises, took the initiative to invite the spectators to participate during the first exercise. This proved to be a great idea with a truly wonderful effect. One of the participating spectators told the practitioners afterwards that his hands became very warm while doing the exercise. At the end of the performance most of the spectators took a copy of the leaflet "Focus on Falun Gong" so that they could find out more.

A most important and worthy mention must be given to the organiser, who holds responsibility for cultural initiatives and was deeply impressed by the practitioners' performance. Upon seeing our exercise demonstration, he immediately invited us to participate in the next cultural activity day.
