  • New Zealand: As July 20 Approaches, Practitioners Call for an End to the Persecution

The Chinese Communist regime and Jiang faction's persecution of Falun Gong has been going on for six years. July 20 marks the sixth anniversary of the official beginning of the persecution. Practitioners gathered at Queen Elizabeth Square in Auckland on July 16 to hold a press conference and call for an end to the persecution. After the press conference, practitioners marched along Queen Street, the busiest street in Auckland. Practitioners also conducted anti-torture exhibit and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" art exhibition.

Director of New Zealand Chapter of Chinese Democracy Party Mr. Pan Qing stated in his speech that he saw the hope for China from Falun Gong practitioners. Alphaeus Onyeke, Chairman of African Organization in Auckland expressed that the Chinese communist regime's cruel torture of Falun Gong practitioners cannot be accepted. Human rights attorney Mr. Chris Lawrence also delivered speech at the press conference. He represents Falun Gong practitioners in a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. Several Falun Gong practitioners who had personally experienced the persecution recounted their plight.

France: Falun Gong Association Meets High Level Government Officials on National Day

On France's National Day, Falun Gong practitioners have had the chance to meet the French President, Prime Minister, Ministers, Members of Parliament and other VIPs for the last three years in a row.

On this year's National Day, July 13th 2005, four representatives from the French Falun Gong Association were invited to a Garden Party at the Ministry of Overseas Department.

The Association has been able to meet President Jacques Chirac and different Ministers, as well as the successive Prime Ministers in each of the last 3 years. The officials have all been informed personally or by letter about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners being carried out by the Chinese Communist Party.

As well as members of the government, business people and famous artists have had the chance to talk with the practitioners and express their support for practitioners' efforts to bring the human rights abuses against Falun Gong to an end. At the 2005 meeting, famous comedian Raphael Mezrahi said that he firmly opposed the Chinese regime and would never talk to its leaders because he has too much contempt for the crimes they have committed. "I do not criticize China, I criticize this bloody cruel regime."

Throughout 2005, practitioners have noticed that more and more people in France are well informed about the persecution of Falun Gong and are no longer influenced by the defamation campaign organized by the Chinese Communist Party. Falun Gong has become a symbol of peaceful resistance, which can never be crushed.

President Jacques Chirac, the Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin and 31 other ministers have all been informed about the wave of withdrawals from the Chinese Communist Party, which, in the last seven months, has seen 3 million people withdraw.

Latvia: Practitioners Appeal at the Chinese Embassy for an End to the Persecution of Falun Gong

Falun Gong practitioners in Latvia staged a peaceful appeal at the Chinese Embassy to raise public awareness of the six years of cruel persecution against the practice in China on July 8, 2005.

Practitioners unfurled a banner which read, "Stop Killing People!" Many passers-by and drivers slowed down to take a look. Many people accepted flyers from the practitioners. After hearing the facts about Falun Gong, they expressed their sympathy to the persecuted practitioners and hoped that this persecution would end as soon as possible.

On June 29, practitioners in Latvia staged a protest against the Chinese Communist regime's brutal killing of Falun Gong practitioner Gao Rongrong. Gao's face was disfigured from electric baton shock torture in 2004. This human rights abuse case was widely reported throughout the international community and was listed as the first case in the "United Nations Reports on China's Persecution of Falun Gong 2004." However, regardless of the fact that it caused considerable concern in the international community, the Chinese Communist regime still escalated the torture against Gao Rongrong, and murdered her at the age of thirty-seven.

France: Practitioners Promote Falun Gong and Expose the Persecution In the Square of Human Rights in Paris

Practitioners held activities to promote Falun Gong and expose the persecution on Human Rights Square, opposite the Eiffel Tower, on July 3, 2005.

    Truth-clarification

This summer, the weather in France is extremely hot and the temperatures are still rising. The Square of Human Rights is wide open, with seventy or eighty per cent of the ground exposed to the burning sun. Falun Gong practitioners continued with what they were doing, despite the hot weather, because they realized that their task was very important.

Tourists from all over the world queued up to sign a petition calling for an end to the persecution. Some of them got a practitioner to teach them the Falun Gong exercises on the spot.

    Group practice

People signed a petition to express their support for Falun Gong. A middle-aged man appeared among them. It was obvious that he was deeply poisoned by the Communist culture during the rule of the former Soviet Union. He was trying in vain to defend the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s human rights abuses by repeating some communist slogans. But quickly, he became speechless and had nothing to say after hearing numerous facts from the practitioners. People who were watching gained a further understanding of the truth of CCP's persecution of Falun Gong.

Some people said that they would write to the President of France to request that the whole country support Falun Gong and stand up against the persecution. In a word, people are developing their understanding of the persecution happening in China and are opposing it without giving the evil any room to do damage. We believe that the persecution will surely end in the near future and those who have participated in persecuting Falun Gong will be brought to justice.

Washington State: Practitioners Participate in the 30th Seattle Chinatown/International District Summer Festival

The 30th Seattle Chinatown/International District Summer Festival was held on July 9 and 10, 2005 in Seattle's Chinatown. Falun Gong practitioners were again invited to hold a stage performance and an exhibition booth.

    Exercise demonstration

The festival was held in a small park in Chinatown. More than 20 Asian organizations gave stage performances. Practitioners from Washington State performed again this year on the "Dragon Stage." A half-hour program attracted a large audience of both Chinese and Western people.

Three new practitioners playing a piece they composed

During the exercise demonstration, two practitioners introduced Falun Gong to the audience in both English and Cantonese. Three new practitioners from the San Juan Islands played a piece for violin and guitar composed by them. The music described the beautiful realm that practitioners reach after letting go attachments. A performance of the dance, Flower Maiden and Lotus Flower was warmly welcomed again. Some audience members pointed out that the spiritual and artistic level of the practitioners' performance was really noticeable and admirable.

Many visitors came to see the truth-clarification posters in the practitioners' booth. Some Chinese parents explained the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China to their young children. One Chinese person from Guangzhou had a one-and-a-half-hour conversation with a practitioner. He said at the end, "I was misled by the Chinese Communist Party. Today after seeing the posters and hearing your explanation, I am finally clear."

A King County councilmember came to the booth to get to know Falun Gong, talked with practitioners for quite a while and asked for truth-clarification literature to give to other officials.

In this year's activity, many Asian people came to the booth to ask for truth-clarification materials.
