In 2004, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu Jishan of Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province was illegally sentenced to three years in prison and was incarcerated at the Daqing Prison. According to a reliable source, in the afternoon of June 7, 2005, Mr. Xu was choked to death with water by five inmates under the order of prison guards.

Mr. Xu Jishan, 41, worked at the Furnace Building Company under the Daqing City Petrochemical Company's Construction Company in Heilongjiang Province. Because he practiced Falun Gong, his work contract was terminated by the company.

In March 2004 Mr. Xu was illegally sentenced to three years in prison for distributing truth clarification materials. He was sent to the No. 7 Prison Ward at the Hongweixing Prison in Daqing City. At 4:00 p.m. on June 7, 2005, the prison authorities told his family that Xu Jishan had failed "to be rescued" after emergency treatment, and died from an "illness." His mouth and nose were filled with coagulated blood, and the area surrounding his mouth was covered with deep bite marks. According to a reliable source, under instigation from the prison guards, five inmates used water to choke him to death. The prison authorities are trying very hard to cover up this murder. They did not allow Xu Jishan's family to look at his body and refused to conduct a brain CT scan. His family is currently talking with the prison authorities.

Daqing Prison is a so-called "State Bureau-level Civilized Work Unit." The No. 7 Prison Ward is the "advanced work unit" where steadfast Falun Gong practitioners are most savagely tortured. As of this writing, three practitioners, Yu Yongquan, Wang Hongde, and Xu Jishan, have been tortured to death at the Daqing Prison. Beginning in May, the authorities at this prison have escalated the persecution. They tortured practitioner Zhao Yuan, from Acheng City in the No. 7 Prison Ward, until he could no longer eat and vomited anything he ate. Practitioner Jin Sheng from Zhaozhou is on the brink of death from torture, and practitioner Cheng Peiming developed open pulmonary tuberculosis from torture. The perpetrators not only refused to release him but locked him in solitary confinement.

Since July 20, 1999 when the Chinese government started persecuting Falun Gong, many Falun Gong practitioners have been detained at the Qinduankou Prison in Hubei Province. There, they have been subjected to various cruel tortures.

In November 2003, when police officer Zheng Mao and Lian Jinwen tried to force a practitioner to write articles denouncing Falun Gong, this practitioner refused to do so. Zheng Mao then ordered the inmates (inmates designated to monitor Falun Gong practitioners) to drag the practitioner into the guard duty officers' room and beat him. The criminal inmates slapped him on his face repeatedly until his face became swollen. Later, Zheng Mao ordered them to take him to the Strictly Supervised Team, where they continued to beat him. They even hit his head with a stool many times while holding his shoulders so that he could not duck.

In March 2004, when practitioner Mr. Wan Jixiang was detained at the Qinduankou Prison (he was called Zhou Chengjian in prison), he was tortured until he was in critical condition. Upon medical examination, Mr. Wan was found to have cancer of the nose as well injuries directly related to being beaten. But the police at the prison administrative office still dragged their feet, delaying the paperwork required to release him on bail for medical treatment. Under the extreme torment and having to labor intensively, Mr. Wan's hair turned gray and a pain in his left ear became unbearable. Wan Jixiang passed away on May 24, 2005 after he was released on medical bail.

Jiang Guangxiang from Ezhou was subjected to various brutal tortures, including being forced to stand in a riding stance, carrying heavy loads on his back, and sleep deprivation. Sometimes they even hung an over-fifty-Jin (over 56 lb.) water bucket on his neck, and forced him to stand for several hours. The mark left on his neck is still visible.

In March 2005, Chief Zheng of the Fourth Division and instructor Lian Jinwen ordered a dozen inmates to take turns beating up practitioner Min Changchun in order to force him to "transform." The police claimed that they would "transform" him, whatever it would take. Due to the round-the-clock torture, Mr. Min's body was deformed, with the upper part severely injured, his abdomen swollen and his condition critical. The vicious people had to send him to Wuhan Hongshan Prison Hospital on February 22. On March 21, Mr. Min was transferred from Qinduankou Prison Hospital to the Hubei Province General Prison Hospital. After examination there, Mr. Min was diagnosed with severe injury to the pancreas, injury to the spleen, massive pleural and peritoneal effusions, and edema of the feet and legs. On March 4, Min Changchun underwent emergency surgery and was unconscious for several days. At one point, the hospital notified his family that Mr. Min was in critical condition.

On May 29, 2005, in the Strictly Supervised Team of the Fourth Division, two inmates, He Zuchuan and Wu Jiabing ruthlessly beat Falun Gong practitioners in an attempt to find out the source of some Falun Gong materials. As a result of the beatings, a practitioner suffered a skull fracture and was in critical condition. To prevent the news from leaking out, the guards put him in solitary confinement to cover up their crimes. Meanwhile, in order to protect themselves they lied to the authorities, saying that they had already punished the inmates who injured the practitioner. He Zuchuan was the primary person responsible for beating practitioners Zhou Jianwu, Zhang Qingming and others in the Third Division in 2004.

Ms. Zhao Zhaoquan, 65, is a retired teacher living in Matan District, Luzhou City, Sichuan Province. She started practicing Falun Gong in May 1996. After July 20, 1999, when the persecution began, Zhao was illegally detained four times, imprisoned three times, sent to a drug rehabilitation center twice, sent to brainwashing sessions once, placed under house arrest once, and sent to a forced labor camp for two years. Zhao was fined 15,800 yuan and had 295 yuan stolen from her. The authorities withheld 15,000 yuan from the sale of Zhao's second daughter's house as a "guarantee deposit." Since November 2000, Zhao has only received 200 yuan a month from her retirement pension, allowing her only minimum daily expenses. The rest of her retirement pension was taken to pay off her "fines." The following is an account of the persecution that Zhao has been through in her own words.

In early January 2000, the police from the Nancheng Police Station arrested me and other practitioners while we were studying the Falun Gong books. They took us to the Huangjingshan Prison, where we were held for thirteen days. In the prison, we ate spoiled vegetables every day, with very little rice. Even so, we still had to pay 20 yuan per day for food, and I didn't have any money. I went through those 13 days while extremely hungry. The day we left the prison, the police took 260 yuan for "daily expenses" from me. However, the daily supplies they gave us such as slippers and gargle cups were used and old, and had to be returned to them before we left. The police would then resell the returned items at inflated prices.

In November 2000, I went to Beijing with an appeal letter and was almost killed by armed police in Tiananmen Square. I was injured, bruised and swollen all over. Later Luo Wei, Captain of the Matan District Drug Rehabilitation Center, and Chen Xineng, Director of Texing Town, came to Beijing to take me back to Luzhou, and detained me in the Huangjingshan Prison for 15 days and tried to extort 9,000 yuan from me. I didn't have that much money at the time. Xu Jingzhong, a police officer from Longmatan District, Officer Chen from the Texing Police Station, and Chen Xineng force me to sign a receipt for a 9,000 yuan loan.

In December 2000, Luo Linfeng and I went to Beijing to appeal, and the police at Tiananmen arrested us and took us to a prison far away from Beijing. Luo and I sat on a cold concrete floor back to back. The door of the small prison cell was open and cold wind was blowing in. We were freezing and hungry. An armed police officer stood outside to monitor us. Later Officer Li Shijun and others from Huayang and Luzhou came to Beijing to take me back. They extorted 6,800 yuan from me. After I went back to Luzhou, I was imprisoned in the 57th Prison, the Dengganshan Prison, and the Shibaowan Drug Rehabilitation Center. I refused to turn against Falun Gong, so the police transferred me to the Texing Police Station. They later put me under house arrest for over a month and limited the food I was allowed to eat to a very small amount.

On May 18, 2001, the police sent me to the Zizhong Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp for two years. I was forced to watch TV programs that slandered Falun Gong, then write a report afterwards. Two days after, I was confused by their lies and renounced Falun Gong. Later, I thoroughly awakened to my mistake, so I started to clarify the truth about Falun Gong in the camp and told people not to persecute practitioners any longer. I had symptoms of high blood pressure, but the camp authorities still forced me to stand facing a wall for two and half hours each day for three months. There were many means used in the camp to persecute practitioners such as the tiger bench, the "water dungeon," pouring water from the sewer on practitioners and drying them under the sun, electric shock, beatings, prolonged standing, running, squatting, kneeling down, cuffing, tying up practitioners, sleep deprivation, and not allowing practitioners to use the toilet.

I saw a few drug abusers dragging practitioner Ms. Wu Houyu on the rough ground while running. The skin on Wu's feet was gone, she was bleeding badly, and her pants were in tatters. After they got tired, they made her stand on one leg and hold the other leg up high. When she trembled in pain and exhaustion, the prisoners would kick her and make her fall, and then they would beat her. Once Wu fainted from the beatings.

One hot summer day, a policeman poured sewage water with human excrement in it on practitioner Ms. Jiang Li because she refused to renounce Falun Gong. The police then put her in the burning sun. The next day Jiang had a fever and breathing problems and couldn't get out of bed. Jiang refused to take the medicine offered by the prison doctor. Captain Qin ordered seven drug abusers to hold her down, pinch her nose, and force the medicine down. Jiang coughed incessantly for half a day after that.

A practitioner from Xichang was imprisoned in a small cell for several days. Officials from the People's Administration Committee, the educators and drug abusers took turns brainwashing her. She refused and was punished by being forced to stand for a prolonged period of time. I saw her go into the office, where she asked for permission to use the toilet, which was refused. She looked sick and kneeled down soon after that. Li Jinwen from the People's Administration Committee and a few drug abusers pulled her up and dragged her to a bathroom. I worried that she would be tortured and yelled, "Help her up and let her walk." Li Jinwen immediately slapped me. Two days later I received the same punishment. Li wouldn't allow me to use the toilet, and an officer beat me and forced me to stand for a prolonged period of time. This went on for three months.

On January 3, 2003, I was released. Officer Li Shijun ordered a policewomen to search me, and confiscated the 295 yuan I had. They then sent out propaganda framing me for taking practitioners' money in Beijing, which gave people a very bad impression of me. After I got home, I learned that when I was in the camp, the 610 Office took 15,000 yuan from my daughter, claiming it to be a "deposit" guaranteeing that I would never again go to Beijing to appeal.

On the day of the Mid-autumn Festival in 2004, the police from the Yutang Police Station arrested me and took me to the Longmatan District Police Station when I was on my way to a practitioner's house. The Longmatan police imprisoned me for three weeks because I had seven bookmarks that read, "Falun Dafa is good." They also confiscated valuables from my home and took away my Falun Gong books and Teacher's pictures. They told me that they were determined to kill me in prison this time if I refused to renounce Falun Gong. The Culture Education Bureau sent two people every day to brainwash me. They bought me a new comforter, blanket, pillow and pillowcase. A person with the last name Wang told me, "The CCP cares about you and bought these for you." After they released me, I went to my workplace to claim my living expenses, Principal Zhang told me that people from the town government already claimed my two months' salary to buy the comforter for me and pay their expenses.

I was sentenced to prison, and my household property was confiscated. I was fined, beaten, monitored, lived in terror, abused and injured physically and mentally because I practice "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" and strive to be a good person. They have withheld my retirement pension from November 2000 until now. The head of the education committee told me that it would take me more than 10 years to pay off what I owed.

The above units and people who persecuted me have violated articles 35, 36, 37, and 39 of the Constitution, and articles 238, 248, and 251 of the Criminal Law.

Ms. Jiang Xianjun was employed by the Service Branch of the Harbin City Movie Equipment Factory, located in Heilongjiang Province. She died on January 23, 2004, after being tortured by the local authorities because she held firmly to her belief in Falun Gong.

Ms. Jiang Xianjun, 47, previously had breast cancer, which was cured by practicing Falun Gong. Before the persecution started, Ms. Jiang contributed greatly in spreading the practice of Falun Gong. After the persecution began, she joined her fellow practitioners in forming informational materials production sites, transporting materials, and holding experience-sharing conferences.

In April 2004, Ms. Jiang was recognized by a local policeman on Guxiang Ave., Harbin City. She was arrested and sent to the Second Detention Center located in Yaziquan. Ms. Jiang was bailed out on medical parole after her family paid a large sum of extortion money. Under huge pressure, her family would not allow her to contact people, study the Falun Gong books, or practice the Falun Gong exercises. The Procuratorate, police, state security agents and neighborhood administration all harassed her by phone, monitored her home, threatened her and interrogated her.

In May 2003, Ms. Jiang Xianjun left her home to escape the persecution. She developed a cough, which progressively worsened, and had to return home in August. Her family continued controlling her and preventing her from practicing Falun Gong. She was diagnosed with late stage lung cancer in November 2003, and died on January 23, 2004.

1. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Details of Ms. Cui Yuping's Arrest

On the morning of April 8, 2005, a group of Falun Gong practitioners meditated together in Datong City Park. They walked past the City Police Department on their way home. The police stopped them, searched their bags, and found many Falun Gong materials. They arrested Ms. Cui Yuping and fellow practitioner Li and took them to the 610 Office. That afternoon, more than ten policemen led by Political Director Sun, Niu Quanxi (male), and Xing Baoquan (male) broke into Ms. Cui's home, ransacked the house, confiscated a copier, a CD burner, a VCD player, a TV, a cell phone, Falun Gong books and many Falun Gong materials worth more than twenty thousand yuan.

Ms. Cui and Li are both being detained in Datong City First Detention Center. They have been on a hunger strike since their arrest.

On March 30, 2005, at around 11:00 a.m., the Political Director of the Jiyuan City State Security Division Wang Guoyou (male) led a group of policemen and stormed into Mr. Yuan Shengjun's home and ransacked the house without showing any IDs or warrants. They arrested Mr. Yuan Shengjun and his wife Wang Dongling, leaving their 13 year old son at home alone. No one knows where Mrs. Wang Dongling is now.

Mr. Yuan Shengjun has been on a hunger strike without water since March 30. On April 12, 2005, the thirteenth day of his hunger strike, the State Security Division Head Wang Liming (male) and Wang Guoyou decided to cut Mr. Yuan's throat open to insert a tube for force-feeding. His life is now on the verge of death.

On February 28, 2005, Ms. Liu Guifu was arrested at her home in Beijing. She was sentenced to two and a half years of forced labor for passing out Falun Gong materials. Her daughter Ms. Meng Xiangji, a foreign student at Purdue University in the United States, called to request her mother's unconditional release.

Mr. Deng Jianbo, 28, graduated from Northeast Power Institute, and returned to attend English classes.

On March 18, 2005, at the Institute's family housing, officers from the City State Security Division and police from the Zhihe Substation arrested Mr. Yin Qie, in his 20s, a sophomore at the Northeast Power Institute, together with Mr. Deng Jianbo. Mr. Deng is being detained in the Jilin City First Detention Center, and Mr. Yin Qie is being detained in the Jilin City Third Detention Center.

Ms. Wang Lin, 24, was a cashier employed by the Jinshan Net Bar located in Fengjiatun, Chuanying District, Jilin City, Jilin Province. At 9:00 a.m. March 30, officers from the City State Security Division and police from the Zhihe Station arrested her. She is being detained in the Jilin City First Detention Center.

Ms. Sui Huaying is from Qingyuan County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province. She was deceived into leaving her home around noon on April 6, 2005, and was arrested and taken to the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Fushun City. The police decided to start a brainwashing session on May 10, 2005.

Mr. Li Hui , 29, was a worker employed by the Chenzhou City Air Conditioning Equipment Factory. After July 20, 1999, when the persecution started, Mr. Li Hui was twice sentenced to a total of two and a half years of forced labor, four times held in detention centers, and once sent to a brainwashing center. He was arrested again on March 12, 2004, sentenced to three years in prison, and sent to the Jin City Prison located in the Changde Prefecture.

Mr. Li has been under long-term close monitoring.
Mr. Li has been sentenced three times to a forced labor camp, one time for a one year term, a second time for 18 months, for a total of 912 days, and he is now serving a three-year term.
His employer extorted seven thousand yuan from him, saying that it was for going to Beijing to pick him up. His employer simply took this amount from his housing investment account.

7. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Hao Hongfa's Term Extended

Mr. Hao Hongfa lives in Huayuan Street, Changchun City, Jilin Province. He is detained in Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp. His term was extended because he refused to write a repentance statement.

Ms. Ren Zhanhong, in her 30s, lives in Wayaogou Village, Huangqi Town, Fengning County, Chengde City, Hebei Province. Right after the persecution started, police from the Huangqi Station ransacked her home and confiscated her stereo. They have been harassing her quite often.

In the spring of 2000, Ms. Ren and Mr. Liu Jiafu were forced to pay a fine of 2400 yuan to Officer Zhang Laiyun (female) for going to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. That caused her family financial and mental hardships.

In December 2000, Ms. Ren went to Beijing to appeal again. The Beijing local police arrested her and brought her back to her hometown. She was beaten with metal rods for going on a hunger strike and remaining steadfast in her belief in Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. She was tortured for ten days with repeated force-feeding, and she became very weak physically. She was later sent to Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp for one year. The main persecutor is Li Chunhua (gender unknown).

On the evening of September 17, 2004, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Bi Chunyan from Bazhouying Village, Ms. Yu Shuyun and Ms. Xu Ruiping from Bocaigou Village, and Ms. Liu Baofeng from Xiaoyingzi were posting truth clarifying materials in the Xiaolongtan'gou area together. The police from the Humaying Township Station arrested them at around 11:00 p.m. Ms. Yu started clarifying the truth to the police, so they slapped her face. After the police handcuffed Ms. Liu and Ms. Xu together, they took these four ladies to the Humaying Station. Then the Fengning County 610 Office sent them to the County Detention Center. Ms. Bi was released the next day because she was six-months pregnant. The other three were released after paying a fine of three thousand yuan each.

Persons in charge of the Fengning County 610 Office and the State Security Division are Pan Zhanwu (male), Wang Zhigang (male), Si Ruiqing (gender unknown), and Li Chunhua (gender unknown).

On April 9, 2005, Xiao Qingyu (male) and a group of policemen arrested Mr. Wang Xinchun again when he was learning shoe-repair to make a living. They also arrested his father. On the evening of April 10, 2005, police officers from Chibi City, Hubei Province stormed into Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yu Chunxue's home and harassed him. The excuse they used was that his neighbor's room was rented, and someone was using a computer. He was forced to leave home to avoid being arrested and tortured. His wife was taken into custody the next day.

On August 3, 2004, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Tan Junsheng from Hongmei Town, Meihekou City, Jilin Province was arrested at the Harbin Train Station because he was carrying Falun Gong materials. He was detained in the Harbin Railroad Detention Center, and was severely tortured. His legs were injured and he can no longer walk. He was sentenced to two years in prison and has been transferred to the Training Division of Hulan Prison.

We heard that Mr. Tan went on a hunger strike and is on the verge of death due to force-feeding.

On March 29, 2005, at around 10:30 a.m., police from the Guanghan City Department, the Guangyuan City Department, the Guanghan City 610 Office and the Paln Security Office arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen Fuzhen, an employee of the Guanghan City Petroleum Drilling/Collecting Plant, when she was on her way home from vegetable shopping. People on the street were shocked when they saw two female police officers tie her arms behind her back and stuff her mouth with a cloth. The police took the keys to her home and her daughter's computer main board. Ms. Chen's whereabouts are unknown.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Fujun is an employee of the Tonghua City Environmental Protection Department. He was detained for 42 days in July 2000 after riding his bike for seven days to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. He paid a fine of 1500 yuan to the police in the Tonghua City New Trains Station, but he was given no receipt. He also had to pay a fine of two thousand yuan to the Dongchang Police Department, but they didn't give him a receipt either. Mr. Yang's son, who is not a practitioner, is a soldier in the army, and has been hurt by the persecution. Because his father practices Falun Gong, he was demoted to a cashier position.

On December 16, 2004, the police from Jiangdong Station ransacked Mr. Yang's home, found two booklets, and sentenced him to one year of forced labor. On the way to the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp, the police handcuffed him very tightly. His arms turned purple and black. Mr. Yang Fujun has been on a hunger strike for three months to protest the detention. He is very thin and weak. He can no longer stand up or walk by himself.

On April 8, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Song Xuehui from Wazhuang Village, Suntuan Township, Guan County, Liaocheng Prefecture, Shandong Province was arrested.

On the evening of February 1, 2005, the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) Yangdong Village Secretary, Zhang Wen'an (male) from Yang-a Township, Yuanyang County, together with officer Cheng Xiaoliu (male) stormed into Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Xiangqing's home in the same village, ransacked his house and confiscated Falun Gong books and other items. They requested that Mr. Liu pay 1500 yuan instantly to avoid sending him to the County Detention Center. Mr. Liu did not have the money, so they sent him to the County Detention Center.

Mr. Liu was detained in the County Detention Center in 2000 for going to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. He had to pay a fine of ten thousand yuan. As a result, he has a huge debt. He lives a very hard life, recycling garbage.

At around 1:00 p.m. on April 12, 2005, Ms. Dong Shulan and her daughter were delivering Falun Gong materials to a practitioner's home. There were five fellow practitioners there. Less than five minutes after Ms. Dong entered the house, police officers from the Shanqian Station, Longtan District stormed in and tried to arrest all of them. Ms. Dong Shulan's daughter escaped, but left her handbag there, which led the police to their home address. The police then ransacked the home. Ms. Dong Shulan, Mr. Li Guangjun and four other Falun Gong practitioners were arrested. No one knows where they are now.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Qi Yunsheng lives in Tusima Village, Tuchengzi Township, Changyi District, Jilin City, Jilin Province. At around 11:00 a.m. on April 7, 2005, he was reported when passing out the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, and was arrested. Sixteen or more policemen came to arrest him. The details are being investigated.

Mr. Sun Yu, 27, is from Beijing City, and lives in Baizhifang, Xuanwu District, Beijing City. He left home in May 2004, and no one has heard from him since.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yan Xiuxiang from Sunzhuang Township, Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province was sentenced to two years of forced labor and released on July 1, 2004. At around noon on January 30, 2005, officers from Sunzhuang Township and the Village Chief Zhao Yuzong (male) arrested her. They took her to the detention center, but no one knows where she is now.

In May 2005, police from Hengtai County, Shandong Province went to the Shengli Oil Field where they worked with officials from the Binhai Public Security Bureau and the Shengli Oil Field to arrest Zhang Ai'quan, Wang Minyun and Yu Desheng. They also searched the homes of Zhang Ai'quan and Yu Desheng. They are being held by the Hengtai County Police. The Hengtai police refuse to let their families see them.

After 6:00 p.m. on May 10, 2005, about six policemen broke into Ms. Zhang Ai'rong's home in the Yangkou Salt Center in Shouguang City. Ms. Zhang and her husband were at home. The police searched Ms. Zhang's home without a search warrant and found nothing. The police climbed a ladder to the roof where they found truth-clarifying materials. They arrested Ms. Zhang. About five days later, people from her workplace came to Ms. Zhang's home and took some of her clothes. They sent Ms. Zhang to the Weifang Brainwashing Center.

Mr. Li Zhanglin, 42, is from Xiazhuang Village, Handan County, Hebei Province. After he started practicing Falun Gong in 1998, his hepatitis and anemia disappeared. He was thankful for Falun Gong. After July 20, 1999, when the persecution began, he went to Beijing to clarify the truth. He was arrested and sent back to Handan, where he was tortured at the Handan No. 2 Forced Labor Camp. Camp personnel shocked the sensitive parts of his body with electricity, burned him with cigarettes and slapped him repeatedly. Every day, he was handcuffed. He suffered a mental collapse due to the mistreatment and intense pressure.

A practitioner who refuses to tell the authorities her name is jailed in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Those who were released from the labor camp say she is from Fushun City. Since she refused to tell her name, she was called "No Name." She has been on a hunger strike for more than twenty days. Every day, she is force-fed a little corn paste. She is forced to sit on a small stool. One time when she went to the washroom, she lost consciousness. After that she was force-fed on the bed (it is said that she is charged 20 to 60 yuan each time she is force-fed). Her life is in immediate danger.

Mr. Dong Shaohua is jailed in the Number 20 Jail District of the Chagchun Tiebei Jail. Because he practiced the exercises, the police won't allow him to have visitors. He has been on a hunger strike for several days. The jail staff sent him to the hospital to be force-fed. When he was walking, a jail employee named Kong Xiangxin covered his mouth and did not allow him to talk. Mr. Liu Zhaoguo is also on a hunger strike.

Ms. Zhang Wenrong, a practitioner from Guozhuang Village, Fengtai District, Beijing City is from Hebei Province. She is 47 years old and was arrested on April 24, 2005.

At the end of 2004, eight or nine practitioners from Wenling, including Yu Lixin and Hong Misu were sentenced to three to five years each for distributing truth-clarifying materials. Yu Lixin has been on a hunger strike for over 70 days and was sentenced to five years in prison. Yu is jailed in Hangzhou City.

At noon on May 12, 2005, Lou Guilan and Yang Liqing, from Xuezhuang Village, Hutunxiang, Chiping County, Shandong Province were sent to the Chiping County Detention Center for posting truth-clarifying posters.

Ms. Li Yujun went on a hunger strike to protest being forbidden to do the exercises. She lost consciousness days ago and was sent to the Qingchun Hospital. Xie Meiying was jailed at the same time as Li Yujun.

Ms. Wang Guilan, who is in her 70s, and her daughter, Ms. Zhang Xiuying, in her 40s, are from the Jiang'an District of Wuhan City, Hebei Province. On April 13, 2005, the mother and daughter clarified the truth to relatives and friends in their hometown of Xuzhou City. Their relatives reported them. The Xuzhou City police arrested them.

It is said that the police shocked Ms. Zhang with electric batons and beat her for a long time. While beating her, they knocked out one of her teeth. At the end of April, the two were transferred to Wuhan City. The police released Ms. Wang as a ploy to lure her daughter. They then watched her home. Her daughter Zhang Xiuying was sent to the Chenjiaji Brainwashing Center in the Jiang'an District.

On May 27, 2005, five or six policemen from Shouguang City, Weifang, Shandong Province drove to Dongguang Village, Liulu Town, to arrest Ms. Li Guizhen, a practitioner who was taking care of her grandson. They searched her home. When Ms. Li's husband and son came home from work and learned of this, they made inquiries at the Liulu Police Substation. The police then beat both the father and son and detained them in Shouguang City for two weeks. Ms. Li's whereabouts are unknown.

A policeman named Geng, from the Shuangdao Town Police Substation, along with Liu Jitian from Beihai Village, the 610 Office, and the Lushunkou District Public Security Bureau arrested Ms. Han Shuang, who is 37 years old. She was transferred to the Huanbao Hotel in Dalian City and subjected to forced brainwashing.

Ms. Han was force-fed by about six policemen because she was steadfast in practicing Falun Gong and refused to sign her name. The police cut her throat. Since she kept bleeding, the police have not let her go.

Ms. Han Shuang's father could only hide and cry when he witnessed the police torturing his daughter.

Since April 2005, Mr. Li Jide and Ms. Zhang Guixiang, who is in her 60s, from Beihai Village, have been taken to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. This is the second time Ms. Zhang has been jailed at Masanjia.

From 10:00 p.m. on March 7, 2005, to 3:00 a.m. the next day, guards named Guo Lingling and Jing Xuefeng of the Gansu Women's Forced Labor Camp made drug addicts Shan Guilian, Yu Yang, Li Hongwen, Xu Lifang and Ma Shuling beat Ms. Yang Wenying. They beat her to the ground. Ms. Yang shouted, "Falun Dafa is good," so they forced a towel into her mouth. They beat and kicked her body, chest and stomach. San Guilian stepped on her arm. Ma Shuling sat on her chest and slapped her face. They covered her head with a quilt and beat her viciously. She was forced to stand around the clock for 18 days. As a result of the beatings, Ms. Yang's lower body bled severely. She was tortured like this for over 25 days. Qiang Weixiu went on a hunger strike for over 18 days to protest this torture. On May 17, Qiang Weixiu was put in a small cell.

The officials who persecute practitioners include the Director Yang Delan, Sun Xiaotian, Political Commissioner Wang Qianjin, Section Chief Nian Xuefeng, team leader Fan Yirong, Guo Lingling, Jing Xuefeng, Wang Hongjuan, Ma Wei, Ma Ying and Liu Yingmei.

On May 11, 2005, about twenty policemen arrested Ms. Wang Changxiang's son Xiao Tao (nickname) from Shimiaozi Village, Wuli Town, Qingzhou City. Insiders said it was because they found him surfing the Internet.

Xiao Tao also practices Falun Gong. He is 22 years old. He works for the Yishun Stove Facilities Factory of Wangfu, Qingzhou City. The police confiscated all of the computers from his workplace. The police forced Ms. Wang's husband to take them to where his wife was working in the field so they could arrest her. They then searched their home.

It has been confirmed that practitioners Liu Yu and Mr. Sun Jiefeng from Shenzhen City were arrested at Liu's home on March 1, 2005, after the police forced their way in. They are being held in the Long'gang District Detention Center of Shenzhen City. Mr. Sun went on a hunger strike for nine days and has been force-fed.
