Mr. Li Jinchen is a Falun Gong practitioner residing in the Xicheng Precinct of Beijing City. The police arrested him at his home on the morning of April 22, 2005. They then imprisoned him in a local brainwashing facility, where he is being tortured.

Ms. Cao Shumin is an elderly Falun Gong practitioner. She is in her 70's and resides on Limin Boulevard, Hexi Precinct, Tianjin City. Ms. Bai Li is another Falun Gong practitioner, around 50 years old, who resides in the Changda Apartments on Jiefang South Road, Tianjin City. The Hexi Precinct police asked the Donglou police to arrest both of them on April 20, 2005, at their homes. The police also ransacked their homes.

We hope that Falun Gong practitioners who see this information will do all they can to help rescue them. The effort should include writing to or calling the Hexi Precinct police.

We don't know the exact date, but Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wu Qiurong of Shanghai has recently been arrested. Additionally, it is alleged that a Falun Gong practitioner who was arrested at one of the truth-clarification material production sites of Shanghai gave the police information about over 30 local practitioners after the police arrested him/her. Consequently, a lot of practitioners have been arrested.

On March 7, 2004, policemen from Yuejin Village Police Station of Dadukou Precinct, Chongqing including Luo Xingbing and Peng Zhong arrested a local Falun Gong practitioner, Mr. Yu Shulin, while he was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong and then took him to a local detention center. Prison guards, Wen Yueling, Liu Guangjing, Li Ke, Yang Bo, and others, tortured him.

Three Falun Gong practitioners working at Baihu Prison Bureau (also known as Baihu Farm) have recently been arrested. Allegedly they had in their possession a copy of The Epoch Times' Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.

The family of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Qingyu of Tieling, Liaoning Province went to her residence on April 23, 2005, and discovered that her apartment had been ransacked. They could not locate her, and suspected the police may have arrested her again.

Ms. Yi Sufeng is a 46-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, residing in the Jiayuan Small Community of Jinzhou, Liaoning Province. The local police arrested her on April 7, 2005, and sent her to the Jinzhou No.1 Detention Center. We hope that every Falun Gong practitioner who sees this information will help rescue her from the detention center.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Zhigang returned home at 8:00 p.m. on April 20, 2005, after having been forced to flee and stay away from his home for a long time to avoid being arrested. Within hours after he returned home, the local police, the Street Administration Office in his community and the welfare community broke into his home and arrested him.

Ms. Yang Jinli is a Falun Gong practitioner who works for the Tianyuan Petroleum Company of Jinzhou, Liaoning Province. On March 29, 2005, four policemen from Shiyou Police Station, led by a policeman named Hou Qin, arrested Ms. Yang Jinli at her workplace and sent her to the Jinzhou No.1 Detention Center where she is being tortured.

Lately the local police of Jinzhou, Liaoning Province have continued to arrest local Falun Gong practitioners. We would like to alert Falun Gong practitioners of Jinzhou to be more clearheaded and rational about all tasks currently.

Ms. Qu Suxia is a 58-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Boluobu Town, Dashiqiao City, Liaoning Province. Shortly before the 2005 Chinese New Year, she appealed to the authorities for the unconditional release of all Falun Gong practitioners, so that they could spend the Chinese New Year with their families. It is said that Ms. Qu was transferred to Dabei Prison; however, her current whereabouts are unknown.

Mr. Liu Dali is a Falun Gong practitioner residing in Wulitai Village, Dahenan Township, Dengta City, Liaoning Province. On the afternoon of March 19, 2005, the Anshan Railway Police arrested him while he was distributing Falun Gong's truth-clarification materials on the train from Liaonyang to Shenyang. The police sent him to the Subei Railway Detention Center. The staff at the detention center denied all family visits. Details of his current condition are unknown.

On the morning of March 20, the Subei Railway Police obtained Mr. Liu's home address by lying to his family. They alleged that they found his wallet. Next policemen from the Dahenan Police Station broke into Mr. Liu's home and ransacked it. They confiscated some of the Falun Gong truth-clarification materials and other personal belongings.

Mr. Zhang Zhenlin is a 68-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, residing in the Tianyuan Community, Wanghua Precinct, Fushun City, Liaoning Province. On April 6, 2005, at 2 p.m., the police from the Bawei Road Police Station, after receiving a tip, arrested him while he was clarifying the truth on the streets. Mr. Zhang is now imprisoned in a forced brainwashing facility in Luotai Villa, Fushun City.

On the afternoon of March 6, 2005, the Deputy Commander of the Guzhipai Police Station of Tangshan City, Hebei Province, Mr. Xiao Zhongguo, and a group of policemen broke into the home of Ms. Zhu Guihua, a local Falun Gong practitioner from Tangshan City. They ransacked her home, as they did not have a search warrant. Since then, Ms. Zhu has suffered severe persecution. She is now imprisoned in the Guzhi Detention Center with three other practitioners including Ms. Zhang Shuzhen, Ms. Niu Ruiping and Ms. Chen Suzhen.

On March 9, 2005, Qian'an Police arrested another local practitioner, Ms. Guo Shuxian .

On April 20, 2005, the Changchun Police and the Nong'an Police broke into the homes of seven Falun Gong practitioners and arrested them.

So far we have identified the following arrested Falun Gong practitioners: Ms. He Qingmei, Mr. Huo Yunqing, Ms. Wang Shuxian, Ms. Luo Jing and Ms. Cai Yuying.

Ms. Gao Yumei is a 49-year-old Falun Gong practitioner residing on Kuangxinggong Street, Wan'gou Town, Jiangyuan County, Baishan, Jilin Province. The police recently arrested her at her home and took her to the Jiangyuan County's forced brainwashing facility located in the Jiangyuan County Detention Center.

At around 10:00 a.m. on April 19, 2005, the Secretary of Wan'gou Town's Political and Legal Committee, Yu Qingzhen, the Committee's Chairman and two local government officials went to Ms. Gao's home. They forced their way in and tried to have her write the Three Statements renouncing Falun Gong. When they finally realized that they couldn't make Ms. Gao renounce Falun Gong, they left her home. However, shortly after they left, the police officers in charge of Ms. Gao's community including Yu Zhenhai, Zhao Xiumin and Liu Xuhong came to Ms. Gao's home and took her to the police station for interrogation. Then they released her.

Early the next morning, the policemen in charge of Ms. Gao's community arrested her at her home and sent her to the Jiangyuan County Detention Center. After 8:00 a.m., when Ms. Gao's husband returned home from his night shift, he found his wife missing. He could not locate her anywhere. It was not until April 21 that the police in charge of their community brought Ms. Gao's husband a copy of the arrest warrant. That was when he finally learned that she had been sent to Jiangyuan County's Forced Brainwashing Facility.

Mr. Tong Wenshan is a Falun Gong practitioner residing on Hanyang Street, Longtan Precinct, Jilin City, Jilin Province. On April 16, 2005, policemen from the State Security Battalion and the Hanyang Street Police Station arrested Mr. Tong at his home. They also confiscated all of the Falun Gong books and truth-clarification materials they found in his store.

Ms. Zhang Congju is a Falun Gong practitioner from Xinzhou Precinct, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. On the morning of April 20, 2005, Wuhan City's "610 Office," Wuhan City's Public Security Bureau, the Xinzhou Precinct Public Security Bureau, and the Fenghuang Police Station arrested Ms. Zhang in broad daylight. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Zhang Congju's husband Mr. Guo Chunsheng is also a Falun Gong practitioner. He died after being taken into custody by staff from the Fenghuang Police Station. Ms. Zhang repeatedly appealed to the provincial, the city and the precinct police to ask them to uphold justice for her husband. No one helped her. Moreover, some of them intimidated and threatened her and told her to be quiet. Now the police have arrested Ms. Zhang and her current whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Zhang is a handicapped woman. She was taking care of her elderly mother and two children without any help. She already had difficulty making ends meet. Now that she has been arrested, there is no one else at home to provide for the family. We would like to call on all kindhearted people who have a heart for justice to extend a helping hand.

Ms. Liu Cuian is a retired employee from the Hubei Province Public Security Bureau's Guesthouse. She returned to Caidian, Hanyang, Wuhan City, Hubei Province on April 3, 2005, to sweep her ancestral tombs. The Caidian police, after receiving a tip, arrested her while she was distributing Falun Gong truth-clarification materials in Caidian. The police sent her to the Yangyuan Forced Brainwashing Facility in Wuhan City, Hubei Province.

Ms. Liu Jinzhi is a college student at Jianghan University. On April 1, 2005, Ms. Liu downloaded Falun Gong's truth-clarification materials and passed them to her school's faculty and the "610 Office" at her school. Afterwards, the "610 Office" arrested her and sent her to the Jianghan Forced Brainwashing Facility where she is now being tortured.

Ms. He Xianggu is a 44-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Changsha City, Hunan Province. She is a nurse at Hunan Province's Women and Children's Health Center. On the afternoon of April 21, 2005, policemen from the Duzheng Street Police Station of the Furong Precinct, Changsha City, Hunan Province arrested her near Dingwangtai, Changsha City. She was just leaving a Falun Gong practitioner's home when the police approached her and searched her. The police found Falun Gong books and therefore arrested her. It was alleged that a neighbor of the Falun Gong practitioner she had just visited reported her to the police.

Since Jiang Zemin started to openly persecute Falun Gong practitioners on July 20, 1999, Ms. He Xianggu has remained determined in her Falun Gong practice. As a result, her employer, the Hunan Province Women and Children Health Center, once sent her to Hunan Province Psychiatric Hospital (now the Hunan Province Neurology Hospital) where she was injected with psychiatric drugs and suffered other forms of torture. Later she was twice sentenced to serve time at the Baimalong Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou. Each time she was released after she went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and detention.

Ms. He has never stopped clarifying the truth to the local people. It was alleged that, after her arrest on April 21, the police colluded with the Hunan Province Women and Children's Health Center to send her to the Baimalong Women's Forced Labor Camp again.

We hope that all practitioners will also try to help gain her release as soon as possible through all means possible.

Mr. Wang Xiaosong is a 45-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Chengdu, Sichuan Province. He is employed as a driver for the Dayi County Education Bureau in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. On April 17, 2005, the police arrested Mr. Wang after they were unable to force him to renounce Falun Gong. They sent him to Xinjin Forced Brainwashing Facility for additional torture.

In 1999, Mr. Wang was sentenced to three years in the Deyang Prison because he was determined to continue his Falun Gong practice. He was not released until he completed his term in October 2002. While detained in Deyang Prison, he was locked in a small, solitary room most of the time, where the Intensive Torture Team subjected him to many types of cruel torture.

In July 2002, Qiu Shen from the Second Squadron of the Deyang Prison kept attacking Mr. Wang with an electric baton until he passed out. After he injected a drug to have Mr. Wang lose consciousness, he sneered and said, "If you cannot take it any longer, you may as well kill yourself by knocking your head on the wall. Anyway, you wouldn't be the first Falun Gong practitioner we have forced to commit suicide by using torture. We already have a camera and a camcorder ready to capture the moment."

The police devised a scheme before they made the arrest on April 17. Before the police action, they had Mr. Wang followed and closely supervised. When they failed to find any excuse to persecute Mr. Wang, they tried to make him verbally renounce Falun Gong. When they failed to attain their goal on April 17, they arrested him anyway and sent him directly to the Xinjin Forced Brainwashing Facility to be tortured.

[Qi County, Henan Province] The Qi County Police Torture Two Female Falun Gong Practitioners

On the afternoon of April 13, 2005, the local police arrested Ms. Zhang Hui and another female Falun Gong practitioner. Both are around 35 years of age. They were arrested while walking on the streets of the southern village of Gegang Town, Qi County, Henan Province. The police took them to Qi County Public Security Bureau's detention center and a long-term detention facility, respectively and tortured them.

They both immediately went on hunger strikes to protest the detention and torture. Because they refused to cooperate with the police or tell them their names and addresses, they were both subjected to brutal beatings. Ms. Zhang's parents reside in Qi County. Therefore, she often goes to Qi County to clarify the truth about Falun Gong to the people from her hometown. As a result, the Qi County Police have repeatedly arrested her and detained her at Qi County's detention center and long-term detention facility where she has suffered from many types of torture. Because a local prison policeman knew who she was, policemen from Political and Security Division of the Qi County Public Security Bureau went to her parents' home and tried to extort a large fine in exchange for her release. Ms. Zhang's parents are elderly farmers and were unable to pay this large fine. As a result, the police refused to release her. Moreover, they savagely tortured Ms. Zhang through forced-feeding, which is the number-one cause of death among Falun Gong practitioners. The other female practitioner is now on the verge of death and has been sent to Qi County's Xiguan Hospital for emergency resuscitation. In fact, they are both in mortal danger.

At 8:00 PM on April 19, 2005, the police from Jidong County's State Security

Battalion arrested the following Falun Gong practitioners: Ms. Li Yueqin, Mr. Wang Jiecheng, Ms. Zhao Fengying and Ms. Gao Fenglan. They also ransacked Ms. Li's home without a search warrant and confiscated over 20 copies of Falun Gong's truth-clarification materials and over 3,000 yuan. Moreover, the police extorted 3,000 yuan in fines from Mr. Wang, Ms. Zhao and Ms. Gao, before they released them at 1:00 p.m. on April 20, 2005.

The Tiantanghe Women's Labor Camp has recently been renamed the Xinan Women's Labor Camp. The labor camp's Third Unit is called the "Advanced Team." Whenever inspections by outsiders take place, this is the only team that is allowed to be inspected, and the inspections are always falsified to make the unit look good. In reality the conditions are brutal and inhumane, especially for Falun Gong practitioners.

Jiao Xuexian and his assistant Huai Chunhong are in charge of the Third Unit. Jiao and Huai order drug addicts to watch the steadfast practitioners in the unit and to assist in their ongoing torture. Many practitioners are locked in a small room and forced to stand or hold their arms in the air for long periods of time. They are also deprived of sleep and bathroom privileges. The drug addicts, incited by Jiao and Huai, force practitioners into absurd positions, making them cram their heads under a small stool. Often the practitioners are insulted and female practitioners are harassed. Sometimes practitioners are forced to stand naked outdoors on winter nights. Exhaustion is another torture method. They force the practitioners to run by assigning two people to accompany them and prod them. After a few minutes their tormentors are replaced with others, and the practitioners are forced to continue running. If the practitioners get too tired and stop running, they will be dragged. The prolonged torture is meant to force the practitioners to compromise their beliefs.

The authorities take precautions to prevent people from learning about their brutal treatment of practitioners. When they beat practitioners, they first seal their mouths with tape or tie up their necks to prevent their screams from being heard. Normally they wait until all the other prisoners are in another building visiting with their families before they carry out their tortures against the practitioners. At other times they may force everyone else to go outside for a walk so they cannot hear what is going on. When they are finished, they let the other prisoners back in.

People are constantly coming to inspect he Third Unit, so Jiao and Huai hide their crimes and make the conditions look good before anyone comes. First, they remove the determined practitioners from the team. Then they let everyone else read newspapers or watch TV. They tear down the newspapers that usually cover the windows and open all the curtains and doors to create a feeling of openness. After the inspection tour is over, everything reverts to its previous repressive condition.

From the end of September to the beginning of October every year, foreign reporters are allowed to visit and inspect the labor camps. Near the end of September 2001, US reporters were allowed to interview prisoners in the Third Unit. At that time around 100 people were detained in the unit. Every division had rooms packed with bunk beds and people, but on the day of the interview, there were only three or four beds in each room and the total number of people was only 40. The extra inmates and their beds were sent to the second floor and hidden from the reporters. TV's were installed in every division, and the corridors were filled with fish tanks and fresh flowers. The labor camp authorities wanted to show the foreigners a good environment and they wanted to create the impression that there were not many people detained in the camp. But after the inspection was over, they forced everyone to carry their beds back down.

Near the end of September 2002, I heard the police say that foreign reporters would be visiting the camp again. This time, they said, would not be like last year. They intended to let the reporters interview practitioners who had been brainwashed under the persecution and who would give out false information about Falun Gong. Determined practitioners were removed from the scene to prevent them from shouting out "Falun Dafa is good" and speaking the truth. While the fake interviews were being conducted under strict police supervision, everyone else was quiet behind closed doors, watching TV. The results of these falsified interviews were terrible, because the brainwashed people said bad things about Falun Dafa against their consciences.

April 18^th, 2005

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Ying lives in Shuangganzi Village, Banlamen Town, Heishan County, Jizhou District in Liaoning Province. On December 27, 2001, Ms. Li was arrested in Beijing. On April 12, 2002, she was sent to the Number 2 Women's Cellblock of Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, Liaoning Province. There, Ms. Li was inhumanly and brutally persecuted. On December 28, 2004, Ms. Li was released from prison. Before her release, she wrote a letter addressed to her parents, telling the story of the persecution she encountered inside the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. She was afraid to return home. In the letter, Ms. Li wrote, "I've been waiting for this day (December 28, 2004) when I'm to be released, but under the circumstances, I don't have the courage to return home. If I am forced to utter those slanderous words again, I'm afraid I won't be able to live any longer."

Following are two letters: Ms. Li wrote the first one to her parents. The second one was written to Ms Li's parents by a practitioner who had experiences similar to hers.

Dear Mom and Dad:

I am about to leave the forced labor camp. While writing this letter I shiver with fear recalling the past three years in prison. I want to tell all my relatives and family about my experiences. I want to tell everybody about those who have committed crimes so that people will know the truth.

At 11 a.m. on April 12, 2002, I was taken to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. In the so-called "Monitor Room," prison staff members checked my belongings and searched my body. Three people (one of them named Lu Dongqi) started talking to me, trying to "change my mind" concerning Falun Gong. I told them that I needed to use the restroom, but Lu Dongqi refused my request. Later on, they noticed that I was barely able to control myself, so they let me go to the restroom. The next morning, I got up and began to clean floors with the other prisoners. Suddenly, a prison officer by the name of Zhang Li shouted, "You are under strict monitoring. You're not allowed to work here!" I was then dragged by force to a classroom.

One day, I was in a classroom after supper. Upon learning that I hadn't "changed my mind," Lu Dongqi came over and grabbed me by the collar, yelling, "You are now wearing the CCP's (Chinese Communist Party) clothes and eating the CCP's food, yet you're still against the CCP. If you continue to refuse to change your mind, you will be treated as an anti-CCP and anti-revolutionary element."

On the eighth day, around 10 p.m., Lu Dongqi and Zhang Li took me to a triangular storage room by the side of the elevator. Inside the storage room, one inmate forced me to stand until midnight. During the night on my fifteenth day in prison, the chief director of the cellblock said that if I continued to refuse to write the so-called three statements, I would have to stand there continuously, and wouldn't be allowed to sleep. Consequently I had to stand for the whole night. The next day, several members of the prison staff continued to harass me and tried hard to force me to change my mind. They also insulted me. I felt so tired and sleepy. I went on a hunger strike for three days to protest this treatment. They asked me to eat; one of the people who asked me to eat was named Liu Bing. Right after I ended my hunger strike, these people immediately resumed their attempts to force me to change my mind using insults and threats.

I refused to recite the prison rules, sing the prison songs or do the physical exercises. I also refused to work for the prison. One day, the director for the division where I was assigned took me to a room and forced me to squat for about one hour, while she beat and kicked me. She said to the other directors who were present at the scene that I had asked for such treatment because of my refusal to work.

The next day, the director pushed me into the dining room and beat me there. Then she took me to her office and asked someone to bring her an electric baton. Another director came. The two of them started to threaten me and tried to force me to write a statement saying that I would perform the physical exercises and labor. As I still refused to renounce my belief in Falun Gong, they punished me by forcing me to stand there for the whole night. The following night, Lu Dongqi and Zhang Li brought me to the storage room again and forced me to squat there. Another prison official called Liu Juan was also present. I simply refused to give up Falun Dafa, and these people slapped me in the head heavily and said that I should wake up. Finally, they forced me to kowtow to them. The torture lasted for more than two hours.

I started another hunger strike. Seven days later, the director told me she would no longer send people to persuade me to change my mind, so I ended my hunger strike. This incident happened around June of 2002.

In November of that year, the director again sent Yu Huirong and Li Yanling and some others to talk to me in an attempt to "transform" me. Later on, they brought me to a storage room and forced me to stand still to "reflect." One night in December, the director approached me and asked me to change my mind. I refused, so she slapped me in the face and forced me to stand the whole night. The following morning, two directors came over and asked me to make a decision on Falun Gong. I wrote, "Falun Dafa is a righteous practice" on a piece of paper. Then the chief director took me to a tiny cell and handcuffed my limbs to an iron bench. I stayed in that tiny cell for a whole week. On December 17, I was released from the tiny cell. The chief director threatened me and said that if I continued to refuse to "transform", I would be deprived of sleep at night. She said she simply didn't believe that she couldn't deal with me. Under such circumstances, I was forced to write the so-called "three statements."

Later on, I personally witnessed an elderly lady (also a practitioner) being hung from the heater pipes in the classroom for a whole night. I knew that someone kept pinching her during the daytime. Now and then I would hear cries, struggling yells and enraged shouts. Just like me, many other practitioners in the prison had been persecuted so seriously that they had difficulty moving around on their legs. Every day my heart felt the tremendous pressure, and my ears were filled with the loud cries of the people around me.

Later, my mind became clear again and I decided to continue practicing Falun Gong. After learning of my decision, the directors took me to a storage room and beat me. The person who beat me was known as Wan Zeping. Another official named Zhang Xue forced me to squat with a book on top of my head. Whenever the book slipped to the ground, Zhang Xue would pinch me. Another time, Zhang Li and two or three other officials tied me up and then locked me in a room, beat me, pinched me and tortured me, trying to force me to slander Falun Dafa and Teacher. At that time, my legs were still swollen and the pain made it impossible for me to stand up, so I shouted whatever they told me to say. They were finally satisfied and released me from the room, allowing me to go to the restroom. I noticed that there were some other practitioners in the room where I was locked up, some of these practitioners had bandages on their arms, and some of them were weeping.

I said to myself, it's an insult to live like this. During one of the so-called "new life" sessions (once a practitioner changed his or her mind about Falun Gong, he or she was said to have started a new life), one practitioner hit her head against the wall, and I saw blood oozing from her head. A director named Fang Ye ridiculed the practitioner in front of the others by saying, "Look at her, she knew she couldn't bear the hardship if she didn't transform. Now that she has transformed she feels she's lost face, this is a consequence of a faked transformation." I was really surprised at the director's words. I was afraid that the same thing might also happen to me.

From then on, my appetite began to diminish more and more. I wanted to cry, but there were simply no tears. In August of 2003, another practitioner and I decided to resume our practice of Falun Gong. My blood pressure was very low, and prison officials force-fed me and beat me. The people who beat me were Wang Yuwei, Liu Zhixian. Wang Meihua and Li Yanling also participated in the beating. They forced me to eat, and my face was swollen as a result of the physical beatings. Many people saw my swollen face, but prison officials told them that my swollen face was self-inflicted.

I've been waiting for this day (December 28, 2004) when I'm to be released from prison, but under the circumstances, I don't have the courage to return home. If I am forced to utter those slanderous words again, I'm afraid I won't be able to live any longer.

I am a practitioner; I only want to tell the world what happened to me. I have never thought of taking revenge on the individuals who hurt me or on society as a whole. Every Falun Dafa practitioner follows this same principle.

Dear parents of Li Ying:

First of all, I'd like to wish you all the best during the New Year's Festival. I wish you all health and peace. Li Ying and I have common beliefs; both she and I have suffered similar experiences.

Where is Li Ying right now? Has she returned home or not? What is her current condition? I don't have any answers to these questions. Nonetheless, I swear to you that you needn't worry about Li Ying, no matter what happens. I also hope that you will believe in us. Furthermore, I hope you will support her and all the Falun Gong practitioners, and help them walk their path. I also hope you will realize that Falun Gong practitioners are kind and innocent. We are not guilty of anything; believing in a righteous path is not a crime.

We are telling you about our suffering and we hope all of humanity will stand up and support justice and maintain peace and kindness. This world needs "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," and the people of the world should know the truth about Falun Gong.

We have never thought about overthrowing the government or bringing down certain officials, but the brutal experiences that we have endured make it imperative that I write this letter in order to protect justice and uphold truth. We'd like to use legal procedures to resolve this Falun Gong crisis; this is our right as guaranteed by the Constitution.

We want to let you know that all those who treat Falun Gong and its practitioners well are doing so for their own good; they are actually treating themselves well. Right now the overall situation has already changed. The Masanjia Forced Labor Camp is facing disintegration. (Shenyang City's Longshan Penitentiary has already disintegrated; Dalian City's Penitentiary has also disintegrated. Two directors from the Longshan Penitentiary have been arrested, and one prison police officer has become a fugitive.) Currently, many Falun Gong practitioners and their families are actively exposing the evil, appealing for their loved ones, or suing those officials who have persecuted Falun Gong practitioners.

The following is an excerpt from the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp handbook, which lists possible prison violations, and furthermore advises that if any of these violations occur, a legal complaint can be made and the prison can be sued.

1. The inmate gets injured.
2. The inmate becomes insane as a result of torture, bringing about grave consequences to society.
3. Prison officers beat, physically abuse, or torture an inmate more than three times.
4. Prison officers use extremely cruel ways of treating inmates that bring negative consequences to society.
5. Prison officers instigate inmates to beat, physically abuse, or torture another inmate more than three times.

Dear parents of Li Ying, the officials at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp are most fearful of appeals, complaints, or lawsuits brought by inmates' family members. The prison has symbolically posted the above violations on the prison bulletin board to create a false impression among visiting government officials. The prison doesn't dare post this list of violations in the most visible and accessible place--the dining hall. Nevertheless, many practitioners and family members have learned about their rights concerning these violations and they have taken legal action to defend themselves.

Finally, we'd like to appeal to all the righteous and kind people in our society. Please stand up and help Falun Gong get the justice it is due. Please give your support to those Falun Gong practitioners who've been persecuted.

Ren Yuan, born on August 28, 1989, is now in his third year of junior high school at the Jiangcheng Middle School, Jilin City, Jilin Province.

Ren Yuan's mother Wu Lingxia was a practitioner from Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province. She was illegally imprisoned and suffered brutal persecution at the Shuangya City Detention Center and the Jiamusi City Labor Camp. Due to mental and physical torture, she died on July 27, 2002. Ms. Wu Lingxia had worked at Jilin Province's Jilin City Paper Factory, and because this unit couldn't keep up its production, staff and workers were laid off and she lost her job. Since July 20, 1999 when the persecution against Falun Dafa began, Ms. Wu twice went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was arrested and suffered serious mental and physical persecution. This also resulted in great financial losses for the family. Her husband, who is not a practitioner, could not bear the persecution and gave in to the pressure by the authorities to divorce her.

In the fall 2000, Ms. Wu Lingxia went alone to her parents' home in Shuangyashan City. Half a year later, Ms. Wu brought her son Ren Yuan to live with her. Ren Yuan transferred schools to Shuanyashan City No. 26 Middle School, where he excelled in his studies. In autumn of 2001, Ren Yuan transferred to Ganglian Zidi School, which is near his grandmother's home, and he was the top student in his class. Six months later, due to the torture she suffered in the labor camp, Ms. Wu had a terrible accumulation of fluid in her liver and abdominal cavity and could no longer take care of herself in daily life, so she had to let Ren Yuan transfer back to study in Jilin and live with his father.

Ren Yuan's father Ren Shouchun used to work at the Jilin Province Jilin City Paint Company, and now earns his living in Guangzhou.

April 21, 2005

An investigation has revealed that five students from Chongqing University were also involved in Ms. Wei Xingyan's incident last year. They are: Ms. Cheng Chunyan, Mr. Hong Dongqiang, Wang Dong (gender unknown), and two others (gender unknown). They are currently detained in the Chongqing City Detention Center in Shibanpo. [Note: Ms. Wei Xingyan, 28, was a graduate student majoring in High Voltage Direct Current Transmission and Simulation Technology at Chongqing University. On May 11, 2003, she was arrested for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong and sent to the Shapingba District 610 Office of Chongqing City to be interrogated. On the night of May 13, 2003, at the Baihelin Detention Center, a policeman raped her in front of two female detainees. After that, Ms. Wei went on a hunger strike to protest the brutality of the police. Later, the police transferred her to an unknown location. After the rape of Wei Xingyan was exposed over the Internet, the 610 Office sealed all documents about Wei Xingyan at Chongqing University. They also ordered the university to claim that there was no such student named Wei Xingyan and that there was no such major of High Voltage Direct Current Transmission and Simulation Technology. The 610 Office also launched a mass arrest of local practitioners, as revenge for their exposing the truth.]

2. [Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Police Arrest Practitioners

In December 2004, police in Qitaihe City arrested practitioners Ms. Jin Lihong, Xiao Ji (gender unknown) and three other practitioners. On December 13, 2004, elderly Dong (gender unknown) was arrested by police from the Qiezihe Station and sent to the Second Detention Center without any proof of criminal acts. Lao Dong has been on a hunger a strike for ten days and is very weak. Two other practitioners have been forced to become destitute and homeless in order to avoid being illegally arrested at home.

3. [Luquan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Jian-gang and Others Are Arrested

Practitioners Mr. Li Jian-gang, his wife Dong Xiuzhu, and Ms. Jia Yulian from Chengguan Town, Luquan City, Shijiazhuang Prefecture, Hebei Province, were arrested on the evening of December 20, 2004, when clarifying the truth to people. They have been detained in the local police substation, a detention center, and a brainwashing facility.

Ms. Dong Xiuzhu and Ms. Jia Yulian were released, because they suffered severe symptoms of sickness, which endangered their lives. Mr. Li Jian-gang was sentenced to three years forced labor and sent to the Third Ward in the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp.

4. [Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Ye Zhigang "Released on a Medical Parole"

Because the life-threatening torture of practitioner Mr. Ye Zhigang was exposed on the Clearwisdom website, overseas practitioners immediately started calling the labor camp where he was held. His family went to request his immediate release several times. The Benxi Labor Camp had to release him before January 1, when his blood pressure reached 250. The labor camp extorted 5,000 yuan from his family as bail money for the "medical parole." They are also requiring him to return to the labor camp for medical examinations.

5. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Current Situation of Two Persecuted Practitioners

In April 2003, the police arrested practitioner Ms. Hu Aiyun and sent her to the Heilongjiang Province Women's Labor Camp.

At 10 a.m. on January 3, 2005, police from the Xuanxin Development in the Nan'gang District in Harbin City stormed into practitioner Ms. Jing Xueyu's home and ransacked it. Ms. Jing Xueyu escaped under the close watch of police, but the police did arrest her husband.

On January 5, 2001, the police from Feicheng City arrested four practitioners: Zhang Fuxin, Xu Xinglu and Zhang Fuxin's son from the Daiyue District of Tai'an City, Shandong Province. This happened when the practitioners were distributing truth-clarification material. They are currently being held at the Feicheng Detention Center.

7. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Airong Is Arrested

On December 12, 2004, practitioner Ms. Zhang Airong from Yangkou Town, Shouguang City, Shandong Province, and two other practitioners were reported to authorities by Party Secretary Yang Wenling (female) for clarifying the truth in Fishing Port of Yangkou Town. The police arrested Ms. Zhang, ransacked her home and confiscated a large amount of truth clarification materials. Ms. Zhang never cooperated with police during her two-day detention in the Yangkou Town Police Station. She was transferred to the Shouguang City Police Station and is now detained in the Shouguang City Detention Center.

8. [Linjiang City, Jilin Province] Mr. Chi Minbao and Three Other Practitioners Are Arrested

The Forestry Substation police arrested four practitioners, including Mr. Chi Minbao, who were employed by the Jilin Provincial Linjiang City Forestry. The practitioners were sent to the San'gongli Detention Center.

At 9 a.m. on January 5, 2005, practitioner Mr. Qi Jianrong, from Zhangjiakou City, was arrested by police from the Jian-guo Street Substation when clarifying the truth to people in Zhang Jiakou City Memorial Park. Police ransacked his home and took many of his personal belongings, including a bank certificate of deposit for over 600 yuan. Mr. Qi Jianrong is being detained in the Shisanli Detention Center in Zhangjiakou City.

Another practitioner, Mr. Liu Jianming from Chongli County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, has been on a hunger strike ever since he was arrested. He was recently sentenced to three years force labor, and police are planning to send him to the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp located in Baoding City.

On January 5 or 6, 2005, practitioner Mr. Sun Zhenshan was arrested by local police and now is detained in the Jiyang Detention Center.

11. [Xintai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Leyou Is Arrested Again

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhao Youle from Zhaojiazhuang Village, Wennan Town, Shandong Province, was arrested again on the morning of December 15, 2004, and is detained in the Xintai City Detention Center.

Around January 1, 2005, practitioner Mr. Zhao Hong's wife (also a practitioner) from Longshan Village, Qingyun Neighborhood, Xintai City, was arrested for passing out truth clarifying materials at a village election meeting. Later the police chased four practitioners, three of them from the same village. Ms. Meng is in her 50's, her two sisters are in their 40's, and Mr. Meng Guangyan from West Xizhou Village is in his 40's. The police have arrested Ms. Meng and one pair of sisters. The other two have been forced to become destitute and homeless in order to avoid being illegally arrested at home.

All four practitioners' homes were ransacked; Falun Dafa materials, a DVD player, and stereo equipment were confiscated.

On the afternoon of December 22, 2004, practitioner Mr. Tian Chao, 24 years old, from Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, was reported and arrested when passing out truth clarifying materials. He is detained in the East District Police Substation.

On November 9, 2004, practitioners Ms. Xiong Bozhen and Mr. Sheng Shijia from Wuhan City were arrested and detained for 15 days when passing out truth clarifying materials. They were sent to the Yangyuan Brainwashing facility in the Wuchang District on November 25, 2004, by police from the Shuiguahu Second Substation, now renamed the Dongting Substation. The Detention Center forced them to pay 400 yuan in living costs for their 15-day detention.

Practitioner Mr. Jiao Lin, from Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province, is an employee of the Supplies Sales Department of the former Fengcheng City Power Exchanger Factory. He has a college degree. He has firmly refused to accept the brainwashing ever since he was arrested in 2004 for passing out truth clarifying materials. He went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. The Fengcheng City "610 Office" sent him to forced labor in the Dandong City Labor Camp, where he was brutally tortured. Due to his solid faith, he was transferred to the Benxi Labor Camp and is now the focus of brainwashing. He is being inhumanly tortured right at this time.

At 11 a.m. on December 12, 2004, officer Cheng Xiaodong from the Changyi City Station, Weifang Prefecture, Shandong Province, arrested practitioner Ms. Wei Peixiu (67 years old) and Ms.Zhang Chunbo from the Huayu Silk Factory in Liutuan Town and detained them in the Changyi City Detention Center.

Practitioner Ms. Mao Fenghua from Wuhan City was reported by Zhu Jing (gender unknown), an employee of the U.S. Johnson Infant Products Company and classmate of Ms. Mao's son. Around 4 p.m. on January 9, 2005, the Muslin Community Administrative Chair Cai (female) and the police arrested Ms. Mao Fenghua, who was babysitting, and took her to the Erdaopeng Brainwashing facility located in the Jianghan District.

1. Urgent Rescue Needed for Falun Dafa Practitioners Detained in Harbin City Women's Prison

Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Li Yushu in the Ninth Ward and Ms. Hu Aiyun in the Training Ward have been on hunger strike for several months. They have been locked in small cells (1) for the duration. The guards in the Second Ward (First Team) also locked practitioner Ms. Wang Juyan and many other practitioners in the small cells. These guards are very cruel in their treatment towards Falun Dafa practitioners. They deprived them of sleep for long periods and do not let them closed their eyes. The guards encouraged the prisoner inmates to torture practitioners with all sorts of means. On November 9, 2004, 33-year-old practitioner Ms. Zhang Shuzhe in the Eighth Ward was transferred to the Ninth Ward, where she was severely tortured. Ms. Zhang Shuzhe has been on a hunger strike for over 6 months.

2. Three Siblings Are Living in Hardship

There are three siblings in Zhao's family in Zhjia Village, Koufu Town, Qingzhou City, Shandong Province. The eldest sister is 18-year-old Zhao Fenghua, a college student in Kaifeng City; the second eldest sister is 17-year-old Zhao Fengling, who attends a vocational school in Weifang City, Shandong Province; and the youngest brother is 15-year-old Zhao Tianxin, a 9th grader in middle school. After July 20, 1999, their mother Dong Guiwen (born on November 29, 1952) was arrested 11 times due to her unyielding belief in Falun Dafa. The last time during her arrest on the night of February 27, 2004, a group of police officers stormed into her home by breaking down their locked door. The police confiscated the family's valuables and arrested Ms. Dong Guiwen. The violent scene of the arrest scared her mother (in her 80s) so much that she could not eat for a long time. Ms. Dong has not been allowed any visitors since her confinement. Ms. Dong's husband, Zhao Hongnong, was deeply pained by his wife's unreasonable arrest. Their house was cleaned out, and the tuition for the children are a huge strain on the family. On October 21, 2004, Mr. Zhao was killed in a hit-and-run accident. Meanwhile, Ms. Dong is still detained in the labor camp. The three siblings are living with their elderly grandfather. They are living with a huge debt and depending on their uncle's help.

3. Exposing Hao Erxia's Crimes in Hongshan District, Chifeng City, Inner-Mongolia Autonomous District

Perpetrator of the persecution Hao Erxia is in her 30s from Hongshan District, Chifeng City, Inner-Mongolia Autonomous District. She works as a Communist Youth Pioneer Coordinator in the Hongshan District Nineteenth Elementary School. She tries very hard to stir up hatred towards Falun Gong to poison the hearts of the school children. At the beginning of 2005, she requested every child to write an article criticizing Falun Gong. She also asked them to draw pictures slandering Falun Dafa. Under her direction, the school walls are covered with articles and pictures slandering Falun Dafa.

1. Locking up in a small cell: The detainee is locked up in a very small cell individually. The guards handcuff practitioners on their back in a fixed position, in which the practitioners can neither move nor lie down. The small cell is very damp and no sunshine comes in. Detainees have to urinate and defecate in the cell. Only half of a regular meal is served to detainees locked up in a small cell during the daytime. The stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.
