(Clearwisdom.net) On the evening of August 10, 2008, Divine Performing Arts put on a rich cultural feast at the New Jersey State Theatre in New Brunswick, New Jersey, mesmerizing nearly a thousand audience members, including competitors who took part in the second NTDTV International Chinese Vocal Competition. The competitors were moved by the pure compassion and pure beauty of the performance.
The performance was staged on the same evening of the final round of the second New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV) International Chinese Vocal Competition. Artistic Director of Divine Performing Arts, Ms. Vina Lee said, "It can be seen as a special gift for all participants in the competition."

Bronze Award Winner of Bel Canto Male Division: Divine Performing Arts is pure, truthful and righteous

UK contestant Duoji Zhaxi (Zang nationality) won the Bronze Award in the second NTDTV International Chinese Vocal Competition. He attended the Divine Performing Arts performance and praised it as fabulous, very professional, pure and truthful. He felt that the orchestra was terrific. He said, "The blend of Western and Chinese music sounds especially good. Traditional Chinese musical instruments blend with Western instruments, which is very soft and gentle."
He said that he had seen performances by folk music orchestras and folk dance troupes when he was in China, but Divine Performing Arts was different. He felt it was rich in righteousness, that is, an awe-inspiring righteousness.
Duoji Zhaxi said, "Mr. Guan's (Assistant Company Manager of Divine Performing Arts's touring company and celebrated tenor Guan Guimin) singing has been widely known in China. His voice is the same as it was before. Also that alto singer (referring to alto singer Yang Jiansheng) [was very impressive]. I'm a singer, but I have never heard such an excellent alto, nor did I see such a brilliant alto in China."

Taiwanese contestant Yiji Dadao won the Bronze Award in the Folk Singing Male Division. He said, "The Divine Performing Arts performance was fantastic! Very moving. The dance movements were complex, but the performers danced in sync. I felt it was superb. Each performance was appealing.
"The most moving dance performance was 'The Risen Lotus Flower.' The reason that it moved me is the vitality displayed in the performance." He continued, "It's a first-class performance, the programs are noble. Singers are brilliant. I've learned a lot from them, their way of singing and techniques. I really enjoyed it!"
Winner of Honorable Mention Award in the Bel Canto Male Division: I was moved to tears while watching the dance performance "Power of Awareness"
Winner of the Honorable Mention Award in the Bel Canto Male Division, Jason Fuh, said, "It was the first time for me to watch a performance by Divine Performing Arts. The design of the whole performance was wise, and several performances were very moving. I have not had any personal experience with Falun Gong, yet from the dance performance 'Power of Awareness,' I saw the maltreatment they have suffered. I was moved to tears. The story was very good. Without words, through dancing, it was presented to the audience. I could feel how it was in the beginning and how it will be in the end. I have been looking forward to listening to these singers. Today I actually feasted my ears. They sang out the belief in their hearts. It is real feeling, which is very important."
Opera Singer: I give the performance 1,000 points
Christie Desir is an opera singer from Haiti, who performs throughout the world. She said, "I liked the coordination and cooperation of the whole performance. Each dancer's movements coordinated precisely with the rhythm [of the music]. I give the performance 1,000 points."
She said, "I like water, I like water's peace and serenity. In the dance, 'Nymphs of the Sea,' the blue water and rocking waves were my favorites."

Chinese Culture Center of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York director Lu Yuan-rong said that he was glad to have been able to see such a highly-skilled professional performance. He said that the spread of Chinese culture overseas relies on the efforts of a group of artists with outstanding artistic attainment.
He added that the choreography of the dances was innovative, and the dance, "The Risen Lotus Flower" was inspiring. He said he could feel that the performers were full of enthusiasm. They presented their ideals and love through body language and rendition of music and dance, and achieved a perfect effect. He believed that the performers must have gone through intense training, with the guidance of good teachers and their vigorous enthusiasm, and therefore achieved such a good effect.
Mr. Lu also commented that the singers were truly professional. They conveyed the enthusiasm in their hearts to every audience member present.
He said that the coordination of the orchestra and dance performances was excellent. Music and dance do not have national boundaries, he said. He believes that such a cultural exchange, introducing the excellent Chinese civilization to the mainstream society in the United States, is very conducive to improving Chinese people's image as a whole, including their cultural position in the U.S. He congratulated these outstanding artists.

After attending the performance by Divine Performing Arts, former teacher at Northeast University in China, Liu Guohua said, "My comment is that it is a divine culture and divine art. Each sound is pleasant to the ear and every detail is cohesively interwoven and right on the beat. The performance was wonderful."
He added, "I have seen the performance four times, and I was amazed each time. My impression is that the more I listen to it, the more I like it. Today, my special feeling was that the more I listened to the music and songs, the more I felt their beauty. Almost all the music in the whole performance was new. The more I listened to them, the more I felt their beauty, and the more I felt comfortable and experienced joy. Just like the song "Who Am I?" sung by Guan Guimin; the more I listen to it, the more I feel its beauty."

August 10 was the birthday of Dr. Dawson's wife. Dr. Dawson brought her to attend the performance by Divine Performing Arts to spend a special birthday together. Dawson said, "The performance was fantastic, beautiful. It told us many things about China, a real China."
Dr. Dawson's wife was very satisfied and delighted, she said, "I had a wonderful time tonight. Just as my husband said, we have learned about Chinese culture and dances. It was very beautiful and elegant. We are glad that we came tonight for the show."
The performance was presented by Divine Performing Arts Touring Company, one of the three companies affiliated with Divine Performing Arts. From December last year to May this year, the company and the other affiliate - Divine Performing Arts New York Company, toured 70 countries and presented over 200 performances. The pure compassion and pure beauty displayed by Divine Performing Arts struck a chord with audiences worldwide and earned rave reviews.

(Clearwisdom.net) On the evening of August 8, 2008, Helsinki Falun Gong practitioners held a candlelight vigil on the roadside along the Boulevard ed la Croisette in the central area of the city to commemorate the Chinese practitioners who were persecuted to death by the Chinese Communist regime in mainland China. They also condemned the Chinese regime's escalation of the persecution against Falun Gong under the excuse of hosting the Beijing Olympics and called on the people around the world to denounce the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) so as to put an end to the persecution.

The opening ceremony of the Olympics was held on the same day. According to the data released by the Falun Dafa Information Center in July, the Chinese regime has stepped up efforts to arrest Falun Gong practitioners under the pretext of hosting the Olympics. Since December 2007, at least 8,037 Faun Gong practitioners were illegally arrested in China's 29 provinces, special municipalities or autonomous districts. Among others, over 500 of them were arrested in Beijing, and over 300 of them were sent to force labor camps for two and a half years of incarceration without trial.
The banner reading "Falun Dafa Is Good", photos of the practitioners who were persecuted to death and the glowing candlelight attracted a lot of attention from passersby. Some accepted flyers and stopped to read them attentively, others took pictures of the scene and still others even crossed the street to sign the petition to support Falun Gong.
A Falun Gong practitioner named Jiang said: "Since the CCP started to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, every Falun Gong practitioner who steadfastly believes in the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, whether inside or outside China, has been regarded by the evil CCP as the 'most dangerous enemy.' The approaches taken by the CCP to persecute Falun Gong include frame-ups, cruel torture, brainwashing, kidnapping, detention, jail terms, 're-education' in forced labor camps, etc. Moreover, they even harvested organs from living Falun Gong practitioners for profit and cremated their bodies to eliminate the evidence."
Though there are not so many Chinese Falun Gong practitioners in Finland, three of them were once illegally imprisoned in China. Among others, Lu Shiping was illegally arrested four times, and was once incarcerated in the notorious Wanjia Forced Labor Camp in Harbin for 20 months. A Chinese student by the name of Qi Lihe, who returned to China in early 2002, was secretly kidnapped by plain clothes police in his residence in Shenzhen in September 2006. He was secretly sentenced to three years in jail in June 2007, and he is currently confined at the Beijiang Prison in Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province. In addition, four other practitioners' family members or relatives had been imprisoned or are incarcerated illegally at present. Among them, Zhang Weijie, the father of Chinese student Xu Mosangzi, who came to Finland in 2007, was kidnapped on his way home after work by the police from the Wuhan Security Bureau's First Division on March 20, 2007. He had been confined in the Hewan Forced Labor Camp on February 11, 2008, by the special agents from the Wuhan Security Bureau's First Division, and is now imprisoned in the Wuhan Municipal First Detention Center. Jin Zhaoyu is a Falun Gong practitioner who just arrived in Finland from Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, China on July 10 to visit her relatives. Her mother Chen Zhenping was illegally arrested after the police from the Dongwuyuan Police Station on Garden Road, Zhengzhou City, searched her home on the evening of July 9. Her younger sister has been destitute and homeless since then.
Ms. Jiang also said that while commemorating the Falun Gong practitioners who were persecuted to death, they were also exposing the CCP's atrocities on the eve of its collapse. In particular, the large scale arrests of Falun Gong practitioners in the run up to the Olympic Games further indicated the CCP's fears losing power and the fact that over 40 million Chinese people have denounced the CCP and its affiliated organizations. This mania is simply the momentary struggle before its collapse. Eventually the world's people will understand the truth that the best approach to put an end to the persecution is to rid the world of the CCP.
(Clearwisdom.net) At 3 p.m. on August 6, 2008, the Polish Association of Falun Gong, the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China (CIPFG) and the Poland Association for Freedom of Expression co-sponsored a press conference in the capital of Warsaw. They appealed to people everywhere regarding China's human rights violations, especially the Chinese Communists' intensifying the brutal persecution of Falun Gong before the Beijing Olympics. They issued a public appeal to Polish citizens to raise their voices of justice to help end the CCP's comprehensive denial of human rights.
At the same time, the results of the global "Million Signatures" campaign were announced. There were a total of 1.35 million signatures from 133 countries worldwide on a petition condemning the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong. Poland had more than 4,000 people involved in collecting signatures.
President Miroslaw Chojecki of the Polish Association for Freedom of Expression spoke first. Mr. Chojecki, who struggled against communism for a long time, has made an outstanding contribution to the process of Poland's moving towards freedom and democracy. He is also the founder of the Polish Association for Freedom of Expression. He said: "A few days ago, my friend Aleksandra Solzenicyna died. As we commemorate him, it makes me think of the three books he had not yet published, in which he wrote: In the world of democratic western countries, so far no one is willing to believe that in communist countries, in the country of the proletariat, that labour camps exist. But today, in China which is ruled by the Chinese Communist Party, you will find that this is not only a fact, the number of them are so great, that labour camps are located even in the vicinity of Olympic venues, where tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners are detained. Falun Gong is an ancient cultivation practice from traditional Chinese culture. This persecution is a disgrace to humanity, and we must stop it!"
At the press conference, the representative of CIPFG Poland, Marcin Hakemer-Fernandez introduced "Torture Outside the Olympic Village: A Guide to China's Labor Camps", called on the Polish media entering into China to make field surveys about the world's largest human rights catastrophe, and make the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong public.
Mr. Wong, on behalf the Polish Association of Falun Gong said, "Recently, the CCP is taking the Olympics as a pretext for escalating the persecution of Falun Gong; the illegal arrests in the past six months totaled nearly 10,000. News that Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted to death comes every day. We strongly urge the Polish community and all international organizations to uphold justice, and end the CCP's comprehensive human rights violations during the Olympic Games."
Representatives of the Polish Association of Falun Gong and the CIPFG submitted the results of the global "Million Signatures" campaign to the Office of President Lecha Kaczynski of Poland, the Office of the Polish Prime Minister, Donalda Tusk, the Office of the Polish Foreign Minister, Radolawa Sikorski, and into the hands of Poland's Congress members Bronislawa Komorowskiy and Bogdan Borusewicza.
(Clearwisdom.net) On August 6, 2008, Taiwan Legislator, Ms. Tien Chiu-Chin invited human rights activists to a press conference held in the Legislative Yuan and announced that more than 1,350,000 people around the world had signed a petition to urge the Chinese Communist Party to stop persecuting Falun Gong. The documents have been delivered to International Olympics Committee Chairman Rogge, and it will be discussed on the U.N. Human Rights Committee Meeting in September.
"Million Signatures Campaign" coordinator Ms. Chu Wan-Chi pointed out that thirteen countries held press conferences before the Olympics, calling for a stop to CCP human rights violations. There were 650,000 signatures collected in Taiwan alone. More than 100,000 signatures were collected in Australia, which broke the record for the amount of signatures for any human rights petition in the country. The Australian Parliament passed a resolution asking the CCP to stop persecuting Falun Gong.

Falun Gong Most Severely Persecuted Group in China
Former President's Office Human Rights Consulting Committee member Mr. Ford Liao has been investigating China's human rights for many years and published reports with the Taiwan Democratic Foundation's support. Since 1999, he has not been able avoid the CCP persecution of Falun Gong in any year. This persecution has two phenomena; first of all, it has been long term, and secondly, the most severe human right violations are related to Falun Gong.
Mr. Liao pointed out that there are many non-governmental organizations voicing support for Falun Gong, but not enough from the government. He believes the Taiwanese government should actively express their belief in human rights, express their steady standpoint to the mainland government, and stop the CCP from persecuting Falun Gong. He emphasized that they have failed to persist in their human rights values, and failing to support Falun Gong practitioners will cause pain to the Taiwanese people.
CIPFG Asian Branch member, Taiwan Legislator, Ms. Tien Chiu-Chin stated that the CCP conducts a systematic and strategic persecution of Falun Gong, just like Nazi's persecuted the Jews, and it is the most severe crime in human history. The Taiwanese people are the luckiest, because they can enjoy freedom without being threatened, and they should help the not-so-lucky people. During this petition, 650,000 signatures were collected in Taiwan, the highest for any of the 133 countries in which the petition was circulated.
CCP Widely Arrests Falun Gong Practitioners Before the Olympics
Ms. Chu Wan-Chi said the petition ended on July 27, 2008, is in 29 languages, and has 1,350,000 signatures from people in all walks of life.
In addition to the people that want the Taiwanese government to pay attention to the 650,000 people's support to Falun Gong, Ms. Chu also announced Torture Outside the Olympic Village: A Guide to China's Labor Camps in hopes that the media can interview those being tortured in labor camps while the Olympics are going on.
Taiwan Rescue Persecuted Falun Gong Practitioners Association Chair Ming Chu-Cheng pointed out, "Since the CCP applied to host the Olympics, it has spent most of its time improving the physical aspects like the venues, but human rights have not improved at all."
He stated that from January to the end of June this year, more than eight thousand Falun Gong practitioners have been arrested, and the persecution of Falun Gong has gone beyond tolerance. Lawyer Gao, sympathetic to Falun Gong, spoke for Falun Gong, and he is also being tortured mentally and physically with very low means. Their goal is to force Lawyer Gao criticize Falun Gong, but he has not given in.
Torture Outside the Olympic Village: A Guide to China's Labor Camps
The CIPFG compiled Torture Outside the Olympic Village: A Guide to China's Labor Camps. This guide is 20 pages long, focused on seven facilities in six cities: the Beijing Tuanhe Labor Camp, the Beijing City Women's Labor Camp, the Tianjin Jianxin Women's Labor Camp, the Shenyang Masanjia Labor Camp, the Shanghai Tilanqiao Prison, the Qingdao Labor Camp, and the Qinhuangdao First Detention Center. According to the U.S. State Department's 2007 report on human rights in China "some foreign observers estimated that Falun Gong adherents constituted at least half of the 250,000 recorded inmates" in China's vast labor camp system.

In this guide, it detailed that only 30 kilometers away from the Olympics main venue, the "Birds nest," inside the Tuanhe Labor Camp, a large number of Falun Gong practitioners are being electric baton-shocked, deprived of sleep, brainwashed, and forced to package chopsticks under extremely non-sanitary condition. Prisoners labor for over 16 hours per day.
The same is true for the situation in the Beijing City Women Labor Camp; 800f the detainees are Falun Gong practitioners out of around one thousand detainees, and they are forced to go through brainwashing, injections of nerve-damaging drugs, and slave labor to produce chopsticks, slippers, stuffed animals, etc.

David Matas is addressing the International Congress of the Transplantation Society in Sydney today, where he says he will present new evidence of forced organ removals from prisoners and Falun Gong practitioners in China.
Mr Matas says he has audio tapes of Chinese doctors admitting they have Falun Gong organs for sale.
"We had callers calling into China pretending to be relatives of patients asking hospitals if they had organs of Falun Gong practitioners for sale on the basis that the Falun Gong is an exercise regime and they're healthy, and therefore their organs are healthy, and we got admissions throughout China that yes, we have these organs for sale," he said.
Mr Matas also says until recently, the main market for these organs was foreigners seeking cheap transplants.
"China still does not have a generation system for organs, does still not have a law allowing for the sourcing of organs from a brain dead cardiac alive, it still does not have a national organ distribution and sharing system, it's still the overwhelming 90, 95-96 per cent of its organs are sourced from prisoners," he said.

Practitioners in the parade
Niigawa is one of the biggest harbor cities in Japan. The festival started in 1965. More than 900,000 people attended this year.
Falun Gong's entry, consisting of more than 200 practitioners, was the largest procession in the parade. It was their first time participating in this festival.
Practitioners' entry consisted of the Divine Land Marching Band, a float, dancing celestial maidens, exercises demonstration team and a waist drum team. After the parade, practitioners performed beautiful dances and songs displaying traditional Chinese culture. They also held torture re-enactments to expose the brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China. Practitioners also played a short film, which described the spirit and compassion of Falun Gong.
Many people learned the exercises during the festival.

Toowoomba, known as the "garden city", hosts the Multi-Cultural Festival every year. Falun Gong practitioners set up a booth at the festival. Many people stopped by and accepted the truth-clarifying materials. Some of them were interested in learning the exercises.
Practitioners also performed at the festival. The organizers thanked practitioners for their excellent dances and singing.
Several people approached the practitioners afterwards, telling them that they understood the meaning of the song, Dedu, and were touched by it.
(Clearwisdom.net) On August 2, the Divine Land Marching Band from Toronto, Canada, attended the opening ceremony of the Caribbean Carnival, and performed the Canadian national anthem. On August 9, the band performed at a Rouge River community event, expressing appreciation for the support from the community.
Jiang Fan, the leader of the Divine Land Marching Band, holds the President's Award for the Band's participation in the 30th Canada Day parade in Montreal.
On October 8, 2007, the band performed at the Thanksgiving Parade in Waterloo.
Jiang Fan, the band leader, told reporters that the band was set up in April, 2006. It has performed in more than 80 parades and won widespread praise.
"The Thanksgiving Parade in Waterloo, 2007 made a deep impression on me," Jiang said: "It was one of the biggest Thanksgiving parades in North America. The spectators gave us a very warm welcome."
"We also won the highest award--the President's Award in the Canada Day Parade in Montreal in 2007," Jiang said. "The chair of the parade committee, Claude Leclerc, came to shake hands with us. The organizers spent 10 minutes introducing Falun Gong to the spectators and arranged an exercise demonstration. Mr. Leclerc said our performances were very impressive and had a deep impact."
"We had 80 members in the beginning, but soon the number rose to 100," said Jiang, "We attended a parade in Brampton two months later."
Now the band has 150 members. The oldest is 71-year old Mr. Ye, who plays the trumpet. Mr. Ye is an IT expert. He started practicing Falun Gong in 1993 and came to Canada in 2006. "I moved to Toronto in July, and joined the band in September. I practice trumpet for two hours every day. Two months later, I took part in a Christmas Parade. That year, we were in three Christmas parades," said Mr. Ye.
Mr. Ye said the most impressive thing in the band is how much everybody helps each other. "I live in another city, which is 50 miles away from Toronto. I could not attend rehearsals without the band members' help."

Some practitioners displayed banners reading "Falun Gong practitioners are being tortured to death in China", "Stop the Genocide" and "The world needs Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance". Motorists craned their necks to read the wording on the display, as well as watch a group of practitioners demonstrate the Falun Gong exercises. Other practitioners distributed leaflets to passing pedestrians and cars that had stopped at the traffic lights.

A young British woman was recently deported from Beijing for protesting China's human rights violations during the opening ceremony for the Olympic Games. She has decided to continue her protest in front of the Chinese Embassy and plans to remain there 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until the end of the games. She is concerned about the plight of Falun Gong practitioners in China and enthusiastically distributed leaflets about Falun Gong to passersby.

(Clearwisdom.net) It has been reported that Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Haohong from Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province escaped from the brainwashing center where she had been held captive for more than nine months. Local CCP officials were alarmed and in return took Wang Haohong's son, who is studying in high school, as a hostage. Family members are worried about the safety of the child. More details follow:
Ms Wang Haohong, 41 years old, is from Majia Village, Sha Gully, Zhangxin Township, Zhaoyuan City. Ms Wang had suffered from many illnesses since she was young and had sought many medical treatments, but all turned out to be in vain. Her mother cried a lot because of this, and Wang Haohong herself also suffered greatly because of her illnesses and would rather die than live. After she started to practice Falun Dafa, all the illnesses she had were miraculously cured. It was Dafa that saved her life and brought happiness and peace to her family.
On July 20, 1999, the wicked Chinese Communist Party launched its brutal persecution of Falun Dafa and its practitioners. Like tens of thousands of other Dafa disciples, Wang Haohong suffered brutal persecution just because of upholding her belief in Falun Dafa and living her life according to the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Wang Haohong was continuously harassed, arrested, detained and tortured by CCP officials. She was not able to return to her own home for the past 8 years.
On September 11, 2007, Wang Haohong was arrested by the Nanxinzhuang Local Police Station in Jinan City, and was detained for about a month at the Public Security Bureau in eastern Jinin. Wang Haohong went on hunger strike to protest. On October 7, Wang Haohong was sent to the so-called "Legal System Education and Training Center" (translation: brainwashing center) in Zhaoyuan City and was been detained there for more than 9 months.
The "Legal System Education and Training Center" in Zhaoyuan City is in fact a brainwashing center that persecutes Falun Dafa practitioners. It is located at a deserted building at Lingnan Goldmine, Taishang Village, Linglong Township. Since July 2007, there have been about 60 Falun Gong practitioners sent to this dark den for persecution. Wang Haohong had symptoms of serious diabetes after being tortured. Her family had repeatedly made requests to take her home but were denied.
Ms. Yang Keyun is another practitioner who has been detained and tortured at the same brainwashing center for more than five months. Ms Yang has a disabled son at home who is unattended. She was tortured and almost collapsed mentally. Falun Dafa practitioner Liu Shuwen and 70-year-old Ms Wang Xiuhua were also arrested and sent to this brainwashing center recently and suffered a great deal physically and mentally.

1. Authorities in Anping County, Hengshui City, Hebei Province Escalate the Persecution of Practitioners
As the Beijing Olympics approached and when the Olympic torch was about to reach Shijiazhuang, the capital city of Hebei Province, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) escalated its persecution of practitioners in that area. Over the past week, officers from the Anping County Police Bureau, the 610 Office, and officials from a number of townships and village harassed, monitored and arrested practitioners, or put them under house arrest. As an excuse for arresting practitioners, they made up false accusations. They claimed that "Falun Gong plans to have a big event, or Falun Gong wants to create social disturbances." Five practitioners from Anping County were arrested, thirteen practitioners' homes were ransacked, two practitioners were forced to become homeless and at least thirty practitioners were harassed. Some were forced to write a Guarantee Statement promising "not to go to Beijing."
On July 16, 2008, practitioners Ms. Lu (over 70 years old), Ms. Qiao (over 70 years old) and Ping Juan (over 60 years old) were reported and then illegally arrested by Sun Yihe from the Political and Security Section of the local police station when exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. They are still being detained and tortured.
On July 18 and 19, 2008, officials from the Anping Township Government, officers from the Township Police Station and the 610 Office, with cooperation from village officials, harassed nine practitioners from Zhangzhuang and Houzhangzhuang village. The practitioners are Mr. Zhang Lanmei, Wang Jingmian, Ms. He Haifen, Zhang Xiangju, Ms. Zhang Xiaofang, Ms. Zhang Xiangju, Ms. Chen Qiaorang, Xiao Lin, Xiao Mei and Rong Jing. Their homes were ransacked in the process. Practitioner Ms. Li Anhui was arrested. Her husband Mr. Zhang Lanmai and Chen Qiaorang were forced to leave their homes and go from place to place to avoid arrest. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials climbed over the wall and forced their way into the homes to arrest the practitioners. They confiscated computers, printers, cassette recorders, cell phones, satellite antennas, Falun Dafa books, exercise cassettes and truth-clarification materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. Practitioner Mr. Li Anquan was detained for 24 hours. The police beat him with rubber batons and pulled his hair. The CCP officials closed Mr. Zhang Lanmai's business and drove out the employees. Officials from the Anping Township Government and Yantuan Village put practitioner Ruijing and daughter under house arrest and monitored them around the clock.
On July 19, 2008, CCP officials arrested Mr. Zhao Jianmin. On July 15, officials from the Nanwang Township government and police station harassed twelve practitioners. Two practitioners' homes were ransacked, and some practitioners were monitored around the clock.

2. Officials from Shenzhou City, Hebei Province Arrest Mr. Jin Dianlong and His Wife
On July 18, Wang Tao, the party secretary of the Wangjiajing Township Political and Judicial Committee in Shenzhou City, Dou Shuangcai, deputy head of Wangjiajing Police Station, Wang Hua, a village official, and several others arrested Mr. Jin Dianlong and his wife Ms. Jin Lianyu, both from Jinjia Village, at around noon. Ms. Jin Liangyu did not cooperate and shouted for help. However, by the time the neighbors had notified her nephew and others, the two had been arrested. They also ransacked the practitioners' home and confiscated Falun Dafa books, DVD burners and other items.
Ms. Ren Jinsheng and Mr. Wang Ruihua from Renjia Village, Wangjiajing Township were also illegally arrested.
These practitioners are now being held at the Shenzhou City Detention Center in Hebei Province. One employee from the detention center said that they were arrested because of a directive from the Hebei Provincial Government. The detention center has set aside 7 rooms to detain practitioners. When the families brought bedding and a change of clothes for the detained practitioners, they saw that more practitioners were being brought in.

3. Practitioners in Zaoqiang County, Hebei Province Robbed by CCP Officials
On July 21, 2008, two office workers from the Zaoqiang Township Government forced their way into the home of practitioners Jiang Hongtu and Mu Lancui. One of the office workers was Li Dongzhuang. Some time ago, he took part when police from the Zaoqiang Township Police Station arrested Mr. Jiang Hongtu and gave chase. As a result, Mr. Jiang was forced to become homeless to avoid being arrested. The office workers wanted to confiscate the practitioners' identification cards, so they searched all the desk drawers and ended up taking away an expired ID card. In 2007, Li Dongzhuang and Jiang Zhiwang, Party Secretary of Jiangzhang Village, confiscated Mr. Jiang Hongtu's satellite antenna for a period of time.
4. CCP Officials in Rongcheng County, Baoding City Persecute Practitioners
Police from the Rongcheng County Police Bureau in Hebei Province, Chengguan Police Station and Township Police Station harassed several practitioners living in that county. They monitored them and threatened that they would hold the villagers responsible for each of the practitioners in that area. They claimed that this was done to safeguard the Olympics.
In the morning of July 10, about fifteen to sixteen CCP officials came to Ms. Zhou Sujun's home in Lilang Village, Pingwang Township. They confiscated a dish antenna that had not been installed. When Ms. Zhou refused to give it to them, they threatened to arrest her and confiscated her identification card.
That same day, they went to Mr. Chen Aiping's home in Liutong Village, located in the same township, and dismantled his home satellite dish. At the time Mr. Chen was alone at home. They asked, "Do you still practice Falun Gong?" They demanded that he say bad things about the founder of Falun Gong. When Mr. Chen refused, they confiscated the antenna.
Then, these officials went to Mr. Wang Zhefa's home in Pingwang Village and dismantled a satellite dish. They did not take the dish away since it was broken in the process.
5. Two Practitioners in Kangbao County, Zhangjiakou City Arrested
At around 3 p.m. on July 16, Yan Xiaolin, the head of the Tunken Township Forest Center, Luo Zhong, head of the Tunken Township Police Station, and 7 or 8 of his subordinates broke into Ms. Wu Zhanmei's home and ransacked it. Then they searched Ms. Cao Fengtao's home and arrested her. They confiscated a television, cell phone, printer and some Falun Dafa books. Immediately after, they went to Lu Aiming's home, where they found three copies of Zhuan Falun, the main text of Falun Gong. They arrested Lu Aiming.
At 8 p.m. on the same day, Xiao Huawen, head of the Chengguan Police Station, and Luo Zhong, a traffic policeman, and 7 or 8 other people forced their way into Ms. Huo Zhenping's home. They ransacked the house and searched the computer, but failed to find anything.
Ms. Cao Fengtao and Lu Aiming were transferred to Shisanli Detention Center in Zhangjiakou City the next day.

6. Four Practitioners from Zhaocun Township, Dingzhou City, Hebei Province Arrested and Their Homes Ransacked
Ms. He Yonglian, Ms. Wang Kunying, Ms. Geng Lijuan and Ms. Huansheng from Zhaocun Township, Dingzhou City, Hebei Province were illegally arrested, and their homes were ransacked. The police took them away when they refused to sign "guarantee statements" renouncing Falun Gong.
On the morning of July 20, 2008, Zang Kecong from the Kaiyuan Township Police Station and Xing Jianzhou, Party Secretary of the Neihua Village, broke into Ms. He Yonglan's home. They ransacked her home and arrested her. The whereabouts of this 30-year-old practitioner are unknown.
At the same time, Ms. Wang Kunying, about 50 years old, from Dasitou Village, was in Neihua Village. The officials who arrested Ms. He Yonglian also arrested Ms. Wang. Her whereabouts are unknown.
In the afternoon on July 20, Guo Hongchang, Deputy Party Secretary and Head of Zhaocun Township, Wei Haitao, Political Instructor of Zhaocun Township Police Station, Aimin, Head of Dasitou Village and a dozen of their men forced their way into Ms. Wang Kunying's home and ransacked it. They confiscated Falun Dafa books and tried to take away the satellite dish that was installed for their parents. They stopped after strong objections from the family.
Ms. Huansheng from Dasitou Village was arrested on July 20 as she was walking down the street with her baby in her arms. Another practitioner, Ms. Geng Lijuan, was arrested on the same day, and her home was ransacked.
Officials from Zhaocun Township and leaders of the various villages repeatedly harassed local practitioners and demanded that they sign "guarantee statements" giving up Falun Gong. When four practitioners refused, they were arrested on the spot.

7. Police in Lingshou County, Hebei Province Persecute Practitioners
Leading up to the Olympics, many practitioners have been harassed, fined, detained or even sentenced to prison terms, and their homes have been ransacked.
Practitioner Mr. Ma Pingfag was sentenced to a prison term for not renouncing his belief in Falun Dafa. Police from the Qingtong Township Police Station, Lingshou County arrested Mr. Ma in July 2008. The practitioner was fined 1,000 yuan and suffered administrative detention for 15 days.
Practitioner Mr. Ma Erxiao was sentenced for not renouncing his belief in Falun Dafa. In June 2008, police from the Qingtong Township Police Station, Lingshuo County arrested and fined him 500 yuan.
Mr. Liu Xulai, over 50 years old , was from Liujia Village, Lingshou County. He began to practice Falun Gong in 2005. At the time he suffered leg pain and had blood in his stool. After practicing Falun Dafa, his mental and physical health improved greatly. Therefore, he talked to everyone about Falun Gong. In February 2008, when he was clarifying the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong to a peddler at Sanshengyuan, he was reported and then arrested. Once the news of his arrest was exposed on the Internet, practitioners from inside China and overseas phoned the Lingshou County Police Bureau and the Sanshengyuan Police Station. The phone calls greatly shocked the evildoers. The police transferred Mr. Liu Xulai to Shijiazhuang City, where he was sentenced to a 3-year prison term. 8. Cao Fengzhi from the Kuancheng County 610 Office, Hebei Province Collaborates with Police to Arrest Practitioners and Ransack Their Homes
At 1 p.m. on June 17, 2008, Cao Fengzhi from Kuancheng County, Hebei Province collaborated with Wang Jinggang and Bai Xiaojun from Dashizhuzi Township Political and Judicial Committee, as well as several policemen from Yangdaohe Police Station, to arrest practitioners. They broke into Mr. Liu Shuge's home in Xiliyuan Village. They confiscated a satellite dish and arrested Mr. Liu.
In the afternoon of the following day, Cao Fengzhi collaborated with police from the County National Security Division and the broadcasting bureau to arrest practitioners. Gaoshan and other policemen from the Tangdaohe Police Station went to Xiliyuancun Village, Dong Liyuan Village and Kongjiagou Village in four police cars. They confiscated TV sets and satellite antennas from the homes of practitioners Ms. Bai Cuihua, Ms. Shi Feng'e, Ms. Zhou Xiuyun, Ms. Kong Yuqin and Ms. Guo Yurong. They also ransacked non-practitioners' homes and arrested Ms. Bai Cuihua's husband.
On June 26, policemen Gaoshan, Cao Fengzhi and Wang Jinggang went to Xiliyuan Village again and forced the practitioners' fingerprints onto a "guarantee statement." They forbade the practitioners to leave the village. Then they went to Liu Shu'e home and ransacked it.
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Gao Shuyu, 54, is a Falun Dafa practitioner and lives in the Haoyuan Community on Weixing Street in Changchun City. On the evening of April 22, 2008, the local police illegally arrested her, ransacked her home, confiscated her child's computer, her notebook computer, an external DVD burner, and an inkjet printer.
Ms. Gao has been "sued" by the Chinese communist authorities in the Nanguan District Court on the main charge of "surrounding and attacking the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp" and browsing the Minghui website (The Chinese version of Clearwisdom).
The Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp of Changchun City colluded with the police departments and police stations of various cities of Jilin Province and provided the local police with the detailed information of practitioners who had been detained in the labor camp, especially those practitioners especially targeted for persecution by Chinese communist authorities. After getting the information, each police station would then send officers to practitioners' homes, harass them, and again arrest them.
Practitioner Ms. Gao Shuyu had been to the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp to visit practitioner Zhu Shuyun of Changchun City who had been detained since May 9, 2007. In March 2008, Ms. Gao and practitioner Zhu Shuyun's younger sister went to visit practitioner Zhu, who had been tortured severely. However, the camp authorities would not allow them to see her, fearing her torture and sufferings would be exposed to the outside world.
In mid-March 2008, the camp authorities invited Ms. Gao and Ms. Zhu's younger sister for a visit. During the visitation, the camp authorities secretly videotaped the practitioners.
Afterwards, Ms. Gao's home and her activities were under police surveillance until she was arrested on April 22.
In the past nine years, the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp went nearly bankrupt once. However, the camp used the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners for financial gain from the the government and built more facilities and added more teams and divisions. The camp went from detaining over a hundred criminal offenders in the beginning to now detaining thousands of practitioners.
Practitioners are tortured both physically and mentally in the camp. According to incomplete statistics, there have been over ten practitioners who were tortured to death at this camp. They include Ms. Yin Shuyun from Changchun City, Ms. Xuan honggui from Meihekou City, Ms. Wang Kefei and Ms. Wang Yuhuan from Changchun City, Ms. Wang Xiulan from Jilin City, Ms. Cui Zhengshu from Jilin City, Ms. Zhang Yulan from Baishan City, Ms. Han Cuiyuan from Siping City, Ms. Hou Lijun from Changchun City, Ms. Guo Yaling from Yongji County, Ms. Wang Xiuyun from Huadian City. Additionally, many practitioners were tortured until they were disabled or mentally disordered.
To add more to the tragedies and sufferings, there has been a dramatic increase in persecution cases leading up to the Beijing Olympic Games, with several hundred practitioners having been arrested and detained. The Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp colludes with various police departments and stations throughout the province in the persecution of practitioners. The arrested practitioners are not always detained in the Heizuizi Labor Camp. The camp's systematic persecution of Falun Gong practitioners has infiltrated various aspects of society on a large scale. They have committed the most heinous crimes with the most evil intentions.

(Clearwisdom.net) Between 1:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on July 29, 2008, Li Hongde, director of Jiaojie Township Police Station, A'cheng District, Harbin City and several police officers tried to arrest Falun Gong practitioners who were clarifying the facts about the persecution. Gunshots were fired by the police during the arrest. Practitioners Zhu Yumei and Wang Kun were taken into custody.
At the police station, A'cheng district 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division police officers interrogated both practitioners. They also illegally searched the home of one of the practitioners. In order to press charges against the practitioners, the police included truth-clarification booklets to use as "evidence."
Both practitioners are currently detained at the A'cheng No. 2 Detention Center. It was rumored that the officials from the local "610 office" and the Domestic Security Division are trying to make a big deal out of this case.
The Chinese Communist Party is intensifying the persecution of Falun Gong using the Olympics as an excuse.

(Clearwisdom.net) At 2 p.m. on July 14, 2008, Lu Gang, the Superintendent of the Hongguang Township Police Station in Tumen City, Yanbian Area, Jilin Province, led a dozen policemen to surround the home of Ms. Liu Yaxian who is a teacher of the Tumen City First Elementary School. Lu Gang demanded Ms. Liu's family to open the door. Ms. Liu's daughter, who is a high school student, did not open the door.
Lu Gang led his men to storm into the elementary school where Ms. Liu Yaxian works. They blocked the entrances to the school and all the school buildings. In front of the teachers and students, they shouted: "We must arrest her!"
Under the harassment and threat of the police, Ms. Liu Yaxian was forced to jump out of the second floor of a school building, which injured her face, legs and inner organs. With the help of kindhearted people, she escaped.
Ms. Liu Yaxian is a well-known teacher. She had broadened many students knowledge and wisdom, benefiting the country. She persists in her belief in Falun Dafa and strives to be a good person according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance. In the past several years, she was harassed and persecuted many times by personnel of the Hongguang Township Police Station.

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Liu Guihua is a housewife. Before she practiced Falun Dafa, she was very weak and suffered from many illnesses including back trouble and migraines. Sometimes the pain was so great that she wouldn't be able to get out of bed, and neither could she shift her position . She also had a very large tumor in her abdomen, making her look like she was five or six months pregnant. She often cried because of her misfortune and the pain that she endured. She had many questions about life that led her to investigate Buddhism, Christianity and numerous kinds of Qigong.
She was introduced to Falun Dafa in 1996. Through Dafa, she began to understand the true meaning of life, and miraculously the tumor in her abdomen began to shrink and ultimately disappear. She showed symptoms of a miscarriage: she bled for nine days, and at the end, her body eliminated a bloody clot shaped like a turnip. Afterward, for the first time, she finally experienced a body free from illness. She has been very grateful to Master Li and Dafa.
On July 20, 1999, Jiang and his cronies began to viciously persecute Falun Dafa. They used state media, radio stations, TV stations, etc. to slander Dafa and practitioners. Ultimately, they banned such an upright cultivation practice. Ms. Liu Guihua wept in her heart, and so she decided to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa.
Before the Chinese New Year in January 2000, Ms. Liu Guihua took a train to Beijing to go to Tiananmen Square. When she arrived, she saw someone practicing the exercises. She was about to join them, but she was immediately arrested and forced into a white police car. Several other Northeastern Chinese practitioners were already in the police car, they were all detained at Tiananmen Police Department, along with other practitioners from all over the country. There were workers, farmers, college students, some were sixty and seventy year old elders, and some were children. They were all quietly reciting Lunyu. When the police did body searches, they found a girl carrying Zhuan Falun and they wanted to confiscate it. Everyone tried to stop the police and tell them the truth about the persecution, but the police wouldn't listen.
Two hours later, Ms. Liu Guihua was picked up by her local liaison office in Beijing. She was detained for 7 days there before she was sent back to her regional city on Chinese New Year's eve. The police wouldn't let her go home. Instead, on a false charge, she was locked up in the smoking cessation section of Jinchang City Rehab Center in Gansu Province. The police tried to hold a brainwashing class, but everyone went on a hunger strike to resist attending the class. So all of the Falun Gong detainees were forced to run, repeat slogans, and run military drills (a common way to torture prisoners in China). Ms. Liu was detained there for 15 days. She was not released until her family paid the rehab center for her "living expenses."
On January 2, 2001, Binghe Road Police Station in Jinchang City deceived her and took her into custody. At that time, she was wearing a light layer of clothing and a pair of slippers. She was then detained at Jinchang Detention Center with several other practitioners. Three days later she was taken to Pingantai Force Labor Camp in Gansu Province and was assigned under Seventh Section where she continued to be persecuted. She was forced to get her hair cut, to recite the "rules of prisoners", to do heavy duty work, to say the slogans while working, to line up and sing slanderous songs, she was even forced to sing when she lined up for meals. Each practitioner was followed by two personal cangues (1). Practitioners were followed even when they used the restroom, and were not allowed to talk to each other. During the day, they were forced to work... at night, they were forced to to recite the "rules of prisoners" until midnight. If anyone refused, he or she would be punished by being forced to stand all night. They were also forced to watch tapes that slandered Falun Dafa. Each week, they had to detail. And, they had a monthly exam and a weekly conference.
The police learned many torture methods from authorities at the notorious Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. They ordered the prisoners to curse or beat up practitioners. Ms. Liu had her hands handcuffed behind her back and her whole body was strung up with a rope attaching the handcuffs to the steel bars which covered the windows. Her toes barely touched the ground and police yelled and cursed at her. After a period of time, a cyst developed on her right thumb , she was taken to the hospital to have an operation to release the pus. Even so, after she was returned to the camp, she was still forced to do heavy labor. She continues to have numbness in both her thumbs. Ms. Liu, in attempts to resist the persecution, used to cry out "Falun Dafa is good!" and she went outside to meditate with other practitioners during meal time. She was not released until October 2001.
On April 15, 2004, Ms. Liu Guihua was arrested at a practitioner's home by Ma Yongguo (male) and other police officers. They were from Jinchang City State Security Division, Police Departments and Binghe Road Police Station. When asked to open the door, the police lied saying that they came to repair the heater, but when the door opened, the practitioners saw officer Chen Jinjin (female) from State Security Division and other police. The police tried to push Ms. Liu into the car, she resisted and cried out "Falun Dafa is good!" An officer of the police department, Li Jianqing(female), immediately beat her to the ground, causing a hematoma on her head. Then they dragged her to the police department to take a so-called "written statement" from her. The next day, without any warrants, the police broke into her house using a hammer, and ransacked her home and leaving a big mess. They took away all the Falun Gong books and VCDs. Later on, Ms. Liu Guihua was taken to the Detention Center. They tried to force a confession out of her again and again. Within ten days, she was tortured so badly that she had difficulty breathing and she vomited blood. She was taken to Bazhi Hospital. On the way there, she kept crying "Falun Dafa is good!" and telling people the truth about Falun Gong. The police had no option but to drag her back to the Detention Center. They released her after they extorted two thousand dollars from her family.
There are still many good people like Ms. Liu Guihua in Jinchang City, being persecuted simply because they practice Falun Dafa.
(1) "Personal cangues" Someone designated to closely monitor and effect change in the behavior of practitioners.
(Clearwisdom.net) Ten days before the Olympics opening ceremony, the Chinese Community Party (CCP) blocked what it called "sensitive" websites. Its willingness to violate human rights was once again exposed before the world's people. Those in the media who respect freedom of speech focused attention on the CCP's Internet blockade.
The blocked websites include: Amnesty International, Reporters without Borders, BBC Chinese Website, Voice of Germany and other non-governmental organizations and news media, Falun Gong, Tibetan and other spiritual groups, and any website that had discussions of the "Tiananmen Square Massacre". Due to pressure from international media, the CCP lifted the block on several websites, but continued blocking Falun Gong and Tibet related websites.
Internet blockade and media censorship existed before the CCP applied for the Olympic Games
Amnesty International's Asian Program Vice Director Roseann Rife was not surprised by the CCP's action. She stated, "By the CCP blocking some Internet websites at will and interrupting the reception of others, it broke its promise and did not carry out its responsibility of keeping to the international standard of freedom of expression."
The CCP's recent action did not just happen before or during the Olympic Games. On August 1st 2008, during a Canadian Press conference, Falun Gong practitioner He Lizhi described what happened to him eight years ago when he was sentenced to three and a half years in prison because he downloaded five Falun Gong related articles from a forbidden website and sent them to his relatives.
Another witness, also from Canada, is Liu Wenyu who lives in Calgary. He and his wife Yao Yue are both Falun Gong practitioners who graduated from Qinghua University. In 2001, wife Yao Yue was sentenced to twelve years in prison because she downloaded information from Falun Gong websites, printed and sent them out to expose the persecution of Falun Gong.
It is impossible to gather statistics on how many cases like these have happened during the nine years of persecution against Falun Gong. But we know it cost the CCP eight hundred million US dollars, up to six billion Chinese yuan, to build the "Golden Shield" to monitor and censor the Internet. Internet monitoring is administered by the Public Security Bureau and the National Security Bureau. "The Internet Safety Supervisory Bureau" which is a subordinate bureau of the Public Security Bureau is responsible for carrying out this duty. From the central government to local governments, from provinces to cities, all governments have established Internet Safety Bureaus, Departments and Teams. There are over three hundred thousand "Internet police" involved in this system.
Chinese Internet Monitoring System used to persecute Falun Gong Practitioners According to a 2004 Report
The number of people arrested or detained due to exchanging information or expressing an objection to conditions or government policies on the Internet have increased sharply; the number in the year 2003 increased 600% over the previous year. There are at least fifty-four persons in prison due to either sending e-mail, establishing a website or exchanging Falun Gong information." ("Amnesty International" January 28th 2004).
According to the data from the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG), " from July 1999 to April 2004, at least one hundred and eight Falun Gong practitioners have been sentenced to prison and labor camps due to Internet related cases, while at least three thousand Falun Gong practitioners were persecuted to death in the general persecution."
Indirect Censorship of the News: The CCP bribes satellite companies to stop broadcasting independent stations
The run-up to the Olympic Games has let the entire world truly see the CCP's extreme Internet controls. Besides openly blocking the news from some sites, other events affecting news coverage might look like an ordinary business dispute or just a technical problem, but they affect what news reaches the population.
This recently happened with a European satellite company, Eutelsat, for example. On June 16th , 2008, Eutelsat shut down New Tang Dynasty TV (NTDTV) broadcasts into mainland China over its W5 satellite. Its excuse was "a technical problem." On July 10th , 2008, the NGO Reporters Without Borders' main office in Paris, France released the news that the "technical problem" raised by Eutelsat was not a "technical problem" at all, but a premeditated political move. The CEO of the company, Giuliano Berretta, in order to please the CCP in an attempt to gain business benefits, deliberately turned off NTDTV signals, several weeks before the Olympic Games, a critical time for Chinese citizens to hear uncensored news.
Reporters Without Borders stated, "The NTDTV Station made the CCP uneasy, as through the satellite, millions of Chinese citizens are able to watch NTDTV. When the satellite company turned off the station, it was an attempt to obtain new business from CCP related corporations."
Eighteen days later, an American government agency, the Broadcasting Board of Governors, which manages Voice of America and Radio Free Asia canceled its contract with Eutelsat to broadcast into China. Because the BBG is canceling the contact with Eutelsat, the satellite company will feel free to cancel its contract with NTDTV. This all happened before the Olympic Games.
Members of the media who are interested in reporting on the CCP's control of news circulation, and investigating further the events around the turning off of NTDTV signals over China, should inquire into the methods and motives of the BBG and Eutelsat. They will find out how much effort the CCP has put into blocking free news circulation.
What Falun Gong practitioners have done about the news blockade
The reason the CCP blocks and censors news reports is because these reports expose the crimes committed by the CCP. The CCP dominates its domestic media; Chinese citizens cannot receive real news. Once genuine news is available to the Chinese people, the countless crimes committed by the CCP over the last several decades will be exposed to the people, such as human rights abuses, religious persecution, and corruption.
Through the course of the persecution, Falun Gong practitioners have been providing Internet software which can break through the Chinese Communist Party's Internet blockade. This software can help Chinese citizens in mainland China use the Internet freely to learn the truth. It can help them withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations to create a better future for themselves and their country.
(Clearwisdom.net) I received a phone call today when I was out. I was puzzled when I saw the number on the caller ID. I took the call, only to find it was a call from overseas. I felt as though every cell in my body went jubilant. This is the best I can do to describe my feelings. I was very, very excited to receive the call. I felt as though I had finally heard from a family member I had lost contact with for a very long time. It was a pity that my mobile phone ran out of battery power in the middle of the conversation. A few days ago, a local practitioner asked me to write an article thanking overseas Falun Gong practitioners for clarifying the truth: He had intended to clarify the truth to a couple of people but they told him that they had already received phone calls from overseas practitioners telling them the truth about Falun Gong. He was very touched when he heard their stories and felt very motivated.
I once saw a painting in a Falun Gong pamphlet in which a little girl stands in the pouring rain holding a truth-clarification poster. Anticipation and perseverance registered all over her face. I could not forget the painting for a long time after seeing it.
Falun Gong practitioners outside China may not be living in the same cruel and adverse environment as in China, but you have given up your comfortable life in a stimulating and free world and let go of fame, self-interest and sentimentality among ordinary people, remaining steadfast for the sake of ending the persecution of Falun Gong and saving sentient beings. This is most precious.
Falun Gong practitioners in China may be clarifying the truth to people in the evil and terrifying environment of China, but the Chinese Communist Party would have persecuted us fearlessly if it had not been for overseas practitioners who persevere in clarifying the truth, protesting the persecution of Falun Gong, reaching out to governments worldwide and hosting all kinds of activities to clarify the truth.
Every time I read news about overseas practitioners' parades, their candlelight vigils where compassion and tranquility abound, volunteers of the service centers to quit the Chinese Communist Party, the Divine Performing Arts and their tireless performances around the world, the entire staff and cast of New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV) working tirelessly to spread the truth, I feel that practitioners in the suppressed environment of China are given hope and encouragement.
We Falun Gong practitioners may be one body, but I still wish to thank overseas practitioners. Thank you for your concern and support for practitioners in China. Thank you for saving sentient beings out of compassion. Thank you for everything you have done. No words can describe the level of magnificence and sacredness of what you have done. The world's people shall remember your acts of greatness. Please be assured that we practitioners in China shall strive to do well so as not to let you down.
Finally, I wish that you will become increasingly mature on your path of cultivation and walk steadily until you reach Consummation. Eternal glory belongs to Falun Gong practitioners in the Fa-rectification period.
(Clearwisdom.net) Time is passing by the minute, by the second; we cannot slow its pace, but we can empower our godly sides, allowing them to manifest, while constantly and rationally accommodating Master and Fa rectification. How do we do it? We have to use Dafa to measure each and every thought, let Fa guide us, use righteous thoughts granted by the Fa to examine and rectify all factors which are not right. Only then will our lives be more secure, and will we be responsible to ourselves and sentient beings, walking our paths well.
Cultivators are human beings in cultivation; they have notions and attachments. If you don't look inward and correct yourself with the Fa, the cultivation environment will change with your mind intent, and the coordination between groups will be off. The attachments we have are always selfish in nature. They conform to the old universe's law. They block the future; they are for individual satisfaction;,they induce irrational actions reinforced by sentimentality.
Master stated:
"As I've said, everything that happens today in the ordinary society is the result of Dafa disciples' thoughts." (Teaching the Fa at 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.)
Dafa practitioner's each and every thought will influence major events. If every one of us is able to let go of the attachment to self, able to let go of selfishness in the mist of tribulation, and allow Master to decide the future, will the evil forces be able to act so frenziedly before they vanish? We are on the final steps of the path. Evil factors are greatly reduced in number. The environment is improving; there are changes happening in the world, but this should not change our heart of diligence, as this is the requirement of the Fa. Master told us a long time ago: "and persevering in true cultivation are long-term tests for every Dafa disciple." (Essentials for future advancement) (Abandon Human Attachments and Continue True Cultivation)
In order to do it well, we must study the Fa well. Fa study is the foundation for eliminating all attachments and establishing firm righteous thoughts. Fa is the foundation for every Dafa disciple. No matter how busy we are, we cannot ignore Fa study. Even if we only have a little time, even if we can only read a small paragraph, it is better to do intently than to read the entire book with an absent mind. As long as we dissolve ourselves in the Fa, those thought factors which are not right will be eliminated and our thoughts will be purified, and then we can constantly use righteous thoughts to rectify the Fa and accommodate Dafa. We will do the three things proficiently, the cultivation environment will improve, and we can truly be able to save people.
On the other hand, if we overly emphasize ourselves, focus on others' shortcomings, stop cultivating ourselves, treat tribulations with human mindsets, it will intensify conflicts, give breathing space to evil forces, cause damage to Fa rectification and not stop the persecution. Dafa practitioners are one body. Persecution of fellow practitioners is an interference in Fa rectification. It is an unpardonable sin. Why can't we let go of ourselves and cultivate well?
The time in Fa rectification with Master is limited. Do not leave room for regrets. Use your righteous thoughts as your guide, cultivate yourself well, eliminate shortcomings, and walk the final path well, because "This instant is precious beyond measure." (Teaching the Fa in the City of Chicago). Master expects us to do even better.
This is my understanding; please kindly point out shortcomings.
(Clearwisdom.net) The situation of Eutelsat terminating NTDTV broadcasts into China, taken as a whole, reveals Dafa practitioners' lack of truth clarification efforts. The practitioners in mainland China have not sufficiently treasured New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV), and still have a great attachment to fear. I had purchased several satellite dishes, but for several months nobody asked me to help install the dishes. While this phenomenon has occurred in the cities, it is said that the situation in the countryside is a little better. I have also contacted several fellow practitioners who were manifesting various cultivation states, but the most prominent problem that I saw was a lack of righteous thoughts. All in all, their attachment to fear was affecting them. I also saw that fellow practitioners' understanding of how to install satellite dishes was insufficient. In the past, I read practitioners' articles, and it seemed that they had a positive attitude towards installing the satellite dishes, and they were in a good state of mind. But it was not until the Eutelsat incident occurred and the actual situation was revealed: fellow practitioners' state of mind really falls far short.
I feel that the main problem with overseas Dafa practitioners is a lack of sufficient truth-clarification efforts, and not thinking over the situation cohesively. They did not put much value on clarifying the truth to Eutelsat, the American Government, different levels of government agencies and some large companies. The same situation occurred in dealing with other countries. They did not think of clarifying the truth until problems occurred, and then they complained about those in the ordinary society being wrong. According to Master's "Fa Teaching Given to the Australian Practitioners," we know that we were actually not right, and we did not do well and enough, which is why the problem occurred.
As we all know, in the past, wherever Dafa was being slandered in mainland China, practitioners' letters and phone calls would pour into that area like a snowstorm. Reflecting on the Eutelsat incident, doesn't this offer us an opportunity to compensate for our shortcomings, to do well in those areas that we have not done well in? Fellow practitioners, whether inside or outside of China, should take very seriously our truth clarification efforts regarding Eutelsat to the governments and companies of different countries. We can gather their email addresses and telephone and fax numbers. We can send our letters to the Minghui/Clearwisdom website and NTDTV to have them translated and then have those letters sent. Our letters should not be too long, but should express our true thoughts and feelings. In the past, we may have not thought about clarifying the truth on a worldwide scale. Starting from today, we need to begin clarifying the truth worldwide, so that every single person knows that Falun Dafa is good, and make sure that every one knows that Falun Dafa has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). This act will actually be saving people around the world, and by doing this we will be making sure that some people won't mistakenly side with the CCP because we may have fallen short in our truth clarification efforts. When we do all of this to a sufficient extent, the persecution will surely end, and the CCP will be disintegrated. I see that many fellow practitioners in mainland China have still not understood this. We should treat ourselves as cultivators who save people, not as ordinary people to be persecuted, nor should we rely on the efforts of overseas practitioners or even ordinary people. But most of all, should we not remain helpless!
The above are some of my own thoughts, please compassionately point out anything inappropriate.
(Clearwisdom.net) Eutelsat has stopped broadcasting NTDTV signals into China, thus cutting off the only platform that allows the free transmission of information uncensored by the Chinese Communist Party into China. The broadcast signals have been interrupted for quite a long time now. Here I want to share some of my personal understandings. Please point out anything improper.
In the past, I always wanted to write articles about my cultivation understandings or about my experience. However, each of these attempts was unwittingly interfered with by my human notions, and I thus missed one opportunity after another to improve myself. Master has put an enormous amount of thought and effort into arranging the cultivation environments that I am to use for my improvement. It is obvious that I have not taken myself seriously as a Dafa cultivator; instead I have acted like an observer. When Eutelsat shut off the NTDTV signal, I did not realize that this is also related to my cultivation. It was not until today, during our group Fa study that Master gave me a hint and I woke up; I have suddenly realized how far I have fallen behind Master's Fa rectification. Cultivation is not about just paying lip service. Each and every Dafa practitioner should have written a letter to Eutelsat from his or her heart, and sent powerful righteous thoughts to have NTDTV broadcasts immediately restored. We should have strongly expressed that NTDTV broadcasts are the only way that people in Mainland China can receive uncensored information. Isn't this a rare opportunity for us? Master said,
"This period of history was arranged for Dafa disciples to save sentient beings, so why haven't you taken the lead role? Why give top priority to the words of ordinary people who have been indoctrinated with the wicked party's culture? Why have you paid so much attention to the evil's persecution? This is worth giving serious thought to." ("Fa Teaching at the 2008 New York Conference," May 24, 2008)
Let's go back and take a look at practitioners' cultivation situation in China. Those who are able to get onto Dafa websites can read about the persecution of fellow practitioners in various regions of China. Some practitioners have been negatively affected by this news and they even spread their negative feelings, which has, in fact, played the role of helping the evil persecution. This has caused other practitioners to unknowingly fall into thinking about these incidents from the standpoint of ordinary people, instead of from the Fa. Some practitioners could not even calm down for several days to do well the three things that Master has asked us to do. Fellow practitioners, how could we, practitioners who have been cultivating the great Fa of the universe, still allow ourselves to be misled and deceived by these false manifestations in the ordinary world? This is really a situation where we have put the cart before the horse.
This time [during the 2008 New York Fa Conference in May], Master has made the Fa very clear. But why have we still failed to take the Fa as our guide? Why are we still unable to read or memorize the Fa often and use the Fa to defeat the evils' plots? We have instead become more intimidated by the evil, and have even almost lost the environment that Dafa practitioners have come by through making sacrifices and enduring hardships. Nothing can damage Dafa. Master said,
"If anyone can harm you, he or she would be able to harm me. Put simply, that person would be able to harm this universe." ("Lecture One" of Zhuan Falun)
Master is worried about us, so Master has keeps reminding us to study the Fa often and search within ourselves. Master also clearly told us,
"The entire cultivation process for a practitioner is one of constantly giving up human attachments." ("Lecture One" of Zhuan Falun)
While the evil frenziedly arrested and abducted Dafa practitioners and ransacked practitioners' homes, how many fellow practitioners managed to have no grudges or complaints towards each other? How many followed Master's words, searched within ourselves, and thought about others? The universe's Fa is indestructible. We should not allow the evil to incite sentient beings to keep committing crimes against Dafa and thus ruin themselves. We did not hurry to do what we were supposed to do to save more sentient beings, but instead we just selfishly thought about ourselves. We thought about how to prevent ourselves from being harmed and how to protect ourselves. Wasn't this completely done out of "selfishness"? We did not have one thought for sentient beings, not even a bit. This is not what Master wants.
On the contrary, if each and every practitioner had been able to require him or herself to diligently follow the Fa and firmly believe that Master is indeed with us, the situation would be completely different. We would have been able to turn our being passive into being active. Eliminating the evil and offering sentient beings salvation is our mission. If we had followed Master's words, held no grudges or complaints in our hearts, cultivated and truly searched within ourselves, and done well the three things as one body, the evil would have been eliminated a long time ago.
(Clearwisdom.net) I was severely paralyzed for two and a half years. When I was able to ride my bike again I was very excited. From my heart, I want to shout out to the world,"It was Falun Dafa that saved me!"
Several years ago I developed lupus. As a result, I had a fever, swelling, developed ulcers, as well as having pains all over my body. I had to lie in bed all the time and was physically exhausted, and I could only sleep three hours a day. The pain woke me up constantly at night. I went to different hospitals but they did not help. My husband traveled a long way to buy medicine for me, but nothing helped.
At that time I was introduced to Falun Gong, and I decided to give it a try. After about two weeks, I was able to get out of bed and ride my bike to go shopping. When the cashier saw me, she was very surprised, and said "Who carried you here? " "I came here myself," I said. "Weren't you paralyzed? How could you come here?" she asked. "I started to practice Falun Gong and now my illnesses are gone." "Really? If it is so good, I will also start to practice." Thus, the cashier started to practice and many of her illnesses that bothered her for a long time went away, and she became healthier and healthier.
My friends and relatives were happy to see how healthy I became after practicing. Some of them also started to practice and have benefited from it.
(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 35 cities or counties in 14 provinces. In this report, 60 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 94 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Shubin Sentenced to One Year of Forced Labor
On June 22, 2008, police from the Mengjia Police Station arrested Ms. Liu Shubin and Ms. Wang Guixin with the excuse of finding around a dozen Dafa books in the home of Liu. On July 2, 2008, Ms. Liu Shubin was sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. Ms. Wang was released on parole for medical treatment.
2. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Jiang Guixing and Ms. Fang Xiuying Persecuted
On July 16, 2008, Mr. Jiang Guixing from Jianye Township, Linghai City was sent to the Jinzhou Forced Labor Camp for one year. Ms. Fang Xiuying was sentenced to one year of forced labor, to be served outside under surveillance.
3. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Daqing Authorities Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioners with the Excuse of Protecting the Olympic Games
On the afternoon of July 11, 2008, in the name of protecting the Olympic Games, police from the Chengfeng Police Station in Ranghulu District, arrested Falun Dafa practitioners including Ms. Shi Jingxia, Ms. Xiao Hou and Ms. Wang Xiuying. Ms. Shi Jingxia was released home on the same day. The homes of Xiao Hou and Wang Xiuying were searched. Their whereabouts are now unknown.
4. [Tianjin City] On July 18, 2008, the Nancai Village Police Station and the Wuqing District Police Station Arrested Ms. Yao Shilan from the Wuqing District Large Alkaline Factory
5. [Xushui County, Hebei Province] Information about the Arrest of Falun Dafa Practitioners
The arrested eight Falun Dafa practitioners from Xushui County, Baoding City are Ms. Han Xiurong, Ms. Hou Yulan, Ms. Ma Yuxia, Ms. Qian Xiuzhen, Ms. Wu Xiuping, Ms. Wang Shuying, Mr. Li Yujun and Mr. Huang Baochang. They are being detained at Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp and Baoding Forced Labor Camp.
6. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Shunli, Mr. Li Yukui and Ms. Zhang Yueming Persecuted
On July 17, 2008, Mr. Li Shunli, Mr. Li Yukui and Ms. Zhang Yueming were arrested by police from Xiezhuang Police Station and the Xinshi District National Security Team. The home of Li Yukui was searched. Li Shunli and Li Yukui are being detained in a Brainwashing Center affiliated with the Baoding City Wool Textile Factory. Zhang Yueming is being detained in the Xiezhuang Police Station.
7. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Liang Zhuanmei Transferred to the Datong City First Detention Center
On the afternoon of July 10, 2008, Ms. Liang Zhuanmei from Datong City went to a train station in Datong City. She was arrested because the Datong Railroad National Security Team found a copy of Zhuan Falun and truth-clarifying materials in her bags. She is currently being detained in the Datong City First Detention Center.
8. [Wulumuqi City, Xinjiang Province] Ms. Chen Ping and Two Other Falun Dafa Practitioners Arrested
On July 12, 2008, Ms. Chen Ping (45 years old), Mr. Liu Chaokun (45 years old, Ms. Chen Ping's husband) and Ms. Liu Hongxia (about 30 years old, Mr. Liu Chaokun's younger sister) were arrested from their home. Chen Ping and Liu Hongxia are being detained in the Liudaowan Detention Center of the Wulumuqi Police Department. Liu Chaokun's whereabouts is unknown.

They were reported and arrested by the Shenjingzi Police Station. Their homes were searched. The police took away Dafa books and other truth-clarifying materials. Mr. Qin Zhongke is about 65 years old and a retired senior engineer from the Handan Steel Group. On the morning of July 14, 2008, a group of policemen from the Handan City 610 Office and the Luochengtou Police Station searched his home and Ms. Zhang Fengqin's homes. The police took away a computer, two printers and 4,700 yuan in cash from Zhang Fengqin's home. Ms. Zhang Fengqin, Mr. Qin Zhongke and his wife were arrested. On the morning of July 15, 2008, Ms. Shi Wulan and Ms. Liu Jihua from Huaian Town, Huaian County were reported by Li Xiaobin, a person from Yuanjiafang Village. Police from the Chengzhen Town Police Station of Huaian arrested them. In the Chengzhen Police Station, the police sprayed a pesticide for killing mosquitoes on Shi Wulan. Later on, Shi Wulan was transferred to the Shisanli Detention Center in Zhangjiakou City. Liu Jihua and another non-practitioner were fined 3,800 yuan and 2,500 yuan, respectively.
19. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Aixue Missing for Five Years
On the afternoon of January 12, 2003, Ms. Li Aixue and another practitioner went out to distribute truth-clarifying materials. They were arrested by police from the Yanghenan Town Police Station in Xuanhua County. Later Li Aixue was sentenced to one year and a half years of forced labor. Her whereabouts have been unknown for five years.

On the morning of July 16, 2008, police from the Tiedaonan Police Station broke into the home of Ms. Yang Fulan and confiscated truth-clarifying CDs and materials and Dafa books. Yang Fulan was arrested and is being detained in the Shisanli Detention Center in Zhangjiakou City.

On June 28, 2008, Ms. Wang Wuhui and Ms. He Linghua from Pingjiang County went to a rural area to distribute truth-clarifying materials. They were reported and arrested. He Linghua and the driver, who is not a practitioner, were detained for a few hours and then released. Wang Wuhui is being detained in the Pingjiang County Detention Center.
Wang Wuhui was detained twice in 2000 because she went to appeal and distribute truth-clarifying materials. In January 2002, she was sentenced to three years' imprisonment because she distributed truth-clarifying materials. Ms. Wang was tortured in the Changsha Women's Prison.

On the evening of July 18, 2008, the Wangjiajing police broke into the home of Ms. Dou Fengci at Daranzhuang Village. The police took away several Dafa books, lecture CDs and exercises tapes. Dou Fengci escaped.

Mr. Shang Xiaodong, 27 years old, is a general design manager for the Xinshiji Hongyuan 2015 Studio in Changchun City. On July 14, 2008, the day the Olympic Torch passed through Changchun City, several policemen went to his office and arrested him. The police also took away 70 yuan paper bills with truth-clarifying words, truth-clarifying VCDs, cell phones, and other items.

33. [Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province] Information about Persecuted Falun Dafa Practitioners
Since the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners started on July 20, 1999, in Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province, about 100 people have been detained in forced labor camps and seven practitioners have died as a result of the persecution. Now, 13 practitioners are still detained in prison and 21 practitioners have been released.
The seven practitioners who died as a result of the persecution: Ms. Zhang Yulan, Ms. Liu Guiying, Mr. Yu Tianyong, Mr. Zhang Jian, Ms. Yang Hailing, Mr. Wei Xiaodong and Ms. Zhang Hong.

Reportedly, they are currently being unlawfully held in the Brainwashing Center. Ms. Zhou Yu, who disappeared in mid-May, is also held there.
At 4:00 p.m. on the afternoon of July 19, four men including Guan Shuigao, the CCP Secretary of Qiaoli Village, Yanling Town in Weiyuan County, Neijiang City in Sichuan Province, broke into the home of 64-year-old Ms. Zhang Zhijun to forcibly arrest her. Ms. Zhang's current whereabouts are unknown.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on July 21, over about ten plainclothes including Guo Jitao (male), the Deputy Director of the Suibin County Police Department, Zhang Zhenqiang (male), from the local 610 Office, and police officers from the Fuxin Township Police Station and the local television station, broke into and ransacked the home of Mr. Qi Dechang. They confiscated a laptop computer, two eBooks, a VCD player, a recorder, a satellite dish receiver, as well as all of the parts for it. In addition, they confiscated all of Mr. Qi Dechang's Falun Dafa books as well as Falun Dafa materials. Two people from the local television station filmed the entire ransacking.

Where she is currently being held is unknown. Ms. Liu Jingshu used to be a nurse at the Xiyuan Chinese Traditional Medicine Hospital of Beijing City. She was unlawfully dismissed from the hospital simply because she steadfastly believes in "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance."
15. [Liaoning Province] Mr. Han Zhen Arrested in Yingkou City
On July 19, 2008, Mr. Han Zhen (24 years old), from Shenyang City and works at the Jianye Decoration Company of Xiongyue Town, Bayuquan District of Yingkou City, was arrested by over 20 police officers from the Provincial Police Department, colluding with the local police departments. Mr. Han's whereabouts are unknown.

In Mid-July, practitioners Mr. Ai Geping and Mr. Nan Jinrong from Daliwang District, Nanliang Township of Xishui County together with practitioner Ms. Yang Shurong from Xichenwan District of Sadian Township were unlawfully arrested by police from the local police station and by the No. 1 Division of the Xishui County Police Department, and taken into the Wuhan Brainwashing Center where they are all being mistreated.
At 12:20 p.m., on July 18, practitioner Ms. Zhang Guixiang from the No. 9 Group of Bayi Village, Yangzi Township of Wanggang Town was making lunch when police from the Wanggang District Police Station and from the No. 1 Division of the Xishui County Police Department broke into her house, pretending to be buyers of vegetable seeds. She was subsequently arrested.

At approximately 7:00 a.m. on July 22, 2008, Mr. Xue Changyang from Xiao County, who had been forced to leave home to avoid arrest, was doing his part-time job as a guard for the Sulou Village Chemical Fertilizer Factory in Dangshan County when he was unlawfully arrested by over 10 police officers from Su County and Dangshan County. The police confiscated Falun Dafa materials, more than 10 copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, a computer, printer, paper cutter, pots, bowls, a gourd ladle, spoons, clothes, a television, electric fan, electric appliance, and other items. The electric appliance was sold immediately.
At the same time, Mr. Xue's wife, Ms. Sun Yijun, was arrested at the home of Ms. Jiang Ying and Ms. Song Lanyun. Ms. Song Lanyun and her son, who has not yet started to cultivate, were also arrested. Over 10 thousand yuan was extorted from Ms. Song's family members before Ms. Song's son was released home. At present, Mr. Xue Chaoyang, Ms. Sun Yijun, and Ms. Song Lanyun are being unlawfully held in the Dongguan Detention Center in Dangshan County.

On July 21, 2008, Ms. Wang Fengqin from Hengshui City and another fellow practitioner were arrested by police officers, who also unlawfully ransacked Ms. Wang Fengqin's home. At present these two practitioners are all being held unlawfully in the Detention Center.
Also on July 21, Ms. Li Shuhui was arrested by police officers from the Xinhualu Police Station. The police unlawfully ransacked the home of Ms. Wang Lihong.

(1) The detainee is locked up in a very small cell individually. The guards handcuff practitioners on their back in a fixed position, in which the practitioners can neither move nor lie down. The small cell is very damp and no sunshine comes in. Detainees have to urinate and defecate in the cell. Only half of a regular meal is served to detainees locked up in a small cell during the daytime. During the night the rats are running around. The stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.

On June 15, Ms. Wu Yefeng was taken into custody by the Yaming Police Station in Huanggu District after days of being unlawfully followed. She was brutally force-fed food and salt water. Her life is in imminent danger. Ms. Wu has been forced to stay out of town for years, and her family has yet to learn that she has been unlawfully detained.

Ms. Wu Qinhua, in her sixties, makes a living by repairing shoes. On May 19, 2008, officers from the Shaowu City Domestic Security Division forcibly took her from the shoe-repair stand she set up by the Farm Market of the Shaowu Railroad Section to the domestic security division. The officers then unlawfully searched her home and confiscated Falun Dafa books and satellite television receivers. The officers also stole over 20,000 yuan in cash.
After Ms. Wu was taken to the office of the Shaowu City Domestic Security Division, several police officers interrogated her and viciously beat her. She was deprived of sleep for two days and one night. She was handcuffed and not even allowed to sit. Both her legs became swollen. Ms. Wu is now being held at the Shaowu City Detention Center.
11. [Wuxue City, Hubei Province] Mr. Liu Jigang Taken into Custody; Mr. Su Jinhuang and Mr. Zhou Shanzheng's Homes Searched
At around 11:00 p.m. on July 25, a dozen police officers from the Wuxue City State Security Department, the police department, and the Dajin Town Police Station broke into Mr. Liu Jigang's home. The officers confiscated a computer, a printer, photo equipment, Falun Dafa books, and satellite antennae. Mr. Liu's wife, who is not a practitioner, tried to intervene, and she was brutally beaten. She suffered injuries all over her body. Mr. Liu was taken into custody.
The same group of police officers then broke into the homes of Mr. Su Jinhuang and Mr. Zhou Shanzheng. They took portraits of Falun Gong's founder, Falun Dafa books, and Falun Gong exercise cassettes.

12. [Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Liying, Employee of Gongzhuling Railroad Station, Taken to Siping Brainwashing Center by 610 Office Police on July 25
13. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Sun Xianguo and Ms. Liu Shumei Taken into Custody at Conclusion of Unlawful Forced Labor Terms
On June 6, 2008, Mr. Sun Xianguo was supposed to be released from a labor camp. Instead, local officers from Anchang Township in Qian'an County took him away from the labor camp. He was sent to the Jiutai Forced Labor Camp on June 25.
Ms. Liu Shumei was released from a labor camp on June 1. However, before she had even stepped out of the labor camp, local police officers from Zhanzi Township, Qian'an County took her into custody. On June 25, she was taken back to the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province.
14. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Han Zhiliang Taken into Custody
At around 9:00 a.m. on July 29, Mr. Han Zhiliang, in his forties, was taken into custody by officers from the Youyi Lane Police Station in Lunan District and from the Lunan Police Department in Tangshan City. The officers searched Mr. Han's home and videotaped the search.
15. [Xintai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Tian Lili Taken to Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Tian Lili was unlawfully sentenced to 15 months of forced labor on April 3, 2008. She is being held at the No. 1 Division of the Shandong No. 1 Provincial Women's Forced Labor Camp.
16. [Huanren County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Jilian Taken into Custody
On July 16, 2008, police officers in Huanren County disguised themselves as water utility-bill collectors. When Ms. Sun Jilian opened the door, half a dozen officers forced their way in. They unlawfully searched Ms. Sun's home and took her into custody. Ms. Sun is being held at the Huanren County Detention Center.
17. [Mancheng County, Hebei Province] Mr. Yuan Ximan Taken into Custody
Mr. Yuan Ximan, 56, lives in Weizhuang Village, Mancheng County. On the evening of July 13, 2008, he went to Longmen Village to distribute truth clarification materials. Villagers at Longmen Village took him to the Bailong Township Government in Mancheng County. Mr. Yuan was tortured during interrogation, and his legs were bruised. His car was held at the Bailong Township Government. Mr. Yuan Ximan remains in custody at the county detention center.
18. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Fan Yuqin Taken into Custody
Ms. Fan Yuqin lives at Xiaozhaoyujia Village under the jurisdiction of the Jiulong Street Administration Office in Fangzi District, Weifang City. On the afternoon of July 28, the police took her into custody. Her whereabouts are unknown. The police confiscated her Falun Dafa books and a computer used by her child.
19. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Chen Shaoqing Taken into Custody; Ms. Li Zhandi Escapes
At around 5:00 p.m. on July 25, the police in Zhanjiang City surrounded the home of Mr. Chen Shaoqing and Ms. Li Zhandi. Several hours later, they received orders from higher officials to break in. The officers confiscated two computers, five printers, a set of satellite antennae, and boxes of photocopying paper. Ms. Li has managed to escape.
On the morning of July 26, Mr. Chen Shaoqing was taken into custody at a rented house. The police confiscated some more equipment there.
20. [Sha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhu Chongying Taken into Custody; Her Husband in Terminal Phase of Cancer Left Unattended
On July 23, 2008, Ms. Zhu Chongying, in her sixties, was deceived to go to the residential committee by officers from the Xiqu Police Station in Sha City and officials of the residential committee. Five officers led by a deputy director of the Caihe Police Station in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province took Ms. Zhu to Hangzhou City.
In December 2007, Ms. Zhu was looking after her grandchild in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. She spent some of her spare time distributing truth clarification materials, and she was taken into custody by the Hangzhou City police. She was later released on medical parole and returned to Sha City, Hubei Province. Her husband, almost 70 years old, was left unattended while Ms. Zhu was in custody.
21. [Changyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Yuhong Taken into Custody
Ms. Liu Yuhong lives in Quqi Village, Beimeng Town, Changyi City. On July 10, she was forced to leave town and had nowhere to live. On the early evening of July 28, when she had just returned home, officers from the Beimeng Town Police Station took her into custody.
22. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] A Dozen Practitioners Taken to Brainwashing Center
Since July 14, a dozen practitioners, including Ms. Fang Jing, Mr. Yang Zhanfeng, Mr. Zhang Jiyin, Ms. Ma Yongfang, and Mr. Liang Rong, have been taken to the domestic security division and subsequently transferred to the Songlindian Brainwashing Center.

23. [Changbai County, Jilin Province] Eight Practitioners, Including Mr. Zhang Chenguang, Taken into Custody
On July 21, eight practitioners, including Mr. Zhang Chenguang, Mr. Guo Xinggui, Mr. Yan Chengyong, Ms. Sun Xiulan, Ms. Zhang Fenglian, and Ms. Li Yuexing, were taken to a brainwashing center.
24. [Jing County, Hebei Province] Mr. Xin Hongwen and Other Practitioners Taken into Custody and Extorted Cash
On July 26, 2008, officials of the Duqiao Town Government in Jing County and officers from the Duqiao Town Police Station took Mr. Xin Hongwen into custody. They searched his home in Xinzhuang Village and took possession of his personal items. Mr. Xin was taken to the Jing County Detention Center. On the same day, the officers went to the home of Mr. Su Guanfu and his wife Ms. Wang Xiuying. They took the couple into custody. The township government extorted 9,500 yuan from the couple and forced them to fingerprint a pre-drafted guarantee statement before releasing them home to live under surveillance. The officers then searched practitioners' homes in Laozhengzhuang Village.

25. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhang Rong Taken into Custody
On July 23, 2008, Ms. Zhang Rong was taken into custody by the police for clarifying the truth. Her whereabouts have remained unknown. This is the fourth time Ms. Zhang has been unlawfully taken into custody.

26. [Fuping County, Hebei Province] Ms. Sun Mingrong Suffers Mental Collapse Resulting from Severe Abuse
On the evening of July 12, Ms. Sun Mingrong and Mr. Yang Shengli were taken into custody. Ms. Sun has lost focus in both her eyes. She does not speak and has mentally collapsed. On the evening of July 27, she was taken to Shijiazhuang City to serve one year of forced labor. Mr. Yang Shengli remains locked in the Section of Internal Medicine in the Fuping County Hospital. The Education Commission has assigned people to monitor him all the time.
27. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Song Guixiang Taken into Custody
At 11:30 a.m. on July 24, 2008, Ms. Song Guixiang, 56, was taken into custody by the Yan'an Road Police Station affiliated with the Shibei Police Department. At 4:00 p.m. on July 28, Ms. Song was transferred to the Dashan Prison in Qingdao City.
28. [Sichuan Province] Ms. Jiang Li, a Teacher at Neijiang Foreign Language Institute, Taken into Custody on the Evening of July 28; Her Whereabouts Remain Unknown
29. [Yi County, Liaoning Province] Ms. He Baoqin Taken into Custody
At around 1:00 p.m. on July 28, 2008, Ms. He Baoqin from Yi County was taken into custody on a bus heading toward Jinzhou City from Yi County. Ms. He is being unlawfully held at the Yi County Detention Center.
30. [Xining City, Qinghai Province] A Female Practitioner, Around 30 Years Old, Taken into Police Custody on the Afternoon of July 22
31. [Tianjin] Mr. Xie Xiangdong Unlawfully Arrested
Mr. Xie Xiangdong, who lives at Gate 3, Building 5 on Fenghu Lane in Nankai District, Tianjin, has been unlawfully sentenced to four years in prison. Around July 28, Mr. Xie was taken into custody, and his home was searched. Mr. Geng Dong, who lives in Building 7 of the Xinyuancun Residential Community of Tianjin University in Nankai District, has been unlawfully sentenced to forced labor twice. On July 27, local residential police officers unlawfully subpoenaed him for 12 hours. He was released on July 28. But on July 29, he was again subpoenaed.
32. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Several Practitioners Taken into Custody and Extorted
The police received reports that Mr. Gong Maosheng and Mr. Guan Rongzhu's wife had Falun Dafa materials at their homes in Yinjiawa Village, Dagu Town, Mengyin County. The two practitioners have been taken into custody and held in Mengyin County. Mr. Gong Fangtai and Mr. Liu Xiangkui have been released after the police extorted cash from them.
Ms. Bao Xiju, who lives in Xiadongmen Village in Tanbu Town, Mengyin County, returned home with righteous thoughts in mind the following day after she was taken into custody. Later she went back to demand the release of her daughter. She was again unlawfully detained. The police demanded 10,000 yuan from her family and released her daughter. The police refused to release Ms. Bao and said she was to be released after the Beijing Olympics were over.
33. [Chongqing] Ms. Chen Lianbi, Ms. Li Jiangjiang and Several Other Practitioners in Beipei District Taken into Custody Around July 24
34. [Yangquan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Gao Lifang and Ms. Ouyang Hongmei Tortured by Police
On July 23 Ms. Gao Lifang and Ms. Ouyang Hongmei were taken into custody by officers from the Nanshan Road Police Station in Yangquan City. They were handcuffed with their arms twisted behind their backs onto an iron pipe. The two practitioners could not stand up for extended hours. Their families were not allowed to visit them.
Ms. Li Huiwen, Ms. Wang Tingfang, and Ms. Guo Jifang were tortured to death in Yangquan City. A large number of practitioners were unlawfully sentenced to forced labor or prison.

35. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Jinrong Taken into Custody
Ms. Li Jinrong, in her forties, lives in the West Division of Baizhuang Village, Huangzhuang Town, Sanhe City. On July 20, she was on her way to visit her mother. While she was on a bus in Pinggu County, Beijing, the Pinggu police took her into custody. At around 1:00 a.m. on July 21 the Sanhe City police unlawfully searched Ms. Li's home. The officers confiscated DVD burners, printers and other items. According to villagers, Ms. Li's son, who is not a practitioner, was taken away with his mother. Ms. Li Jinrong has been held at the Sanhe City Detention Center. Her son has been released.
36. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Huilin, Ms. Li Yanling and Erjuan Taken into Custody
At noon on July 29, Mr. Wang Huilin, who lives Honghuayuan Village in Huanggezhuang Town, Fengnan District, Tangshan City, and Ms. Li Yanling, who lives in Yangzhuangzi Village, were taken into custody by Huanggezhuang Police Station. The officers also searched the two practitioners' homes and confiscated truth-clarification materials. Mr. Wang and Ms. Li are being held at the the Huanggezhuang Police Station.
On July 25, Erjuan, a female practitioner who lives on Xuanzhuang No. 1 Street, was taken to the Xugezhuang Detention Center after her home was searched by officers from the Huanggezhuang Police Station.

37. [Sanmenxia City, Henan Province] Ms. Yang Qingyi and Mr. Yang Yong Taken into Custody
On July 24, 2008, Ms. Yang Qingyi, 39, and Mr. Yang Yong, 37, from Mianchi County in Sanmenxia City, Henan Province, were taken into custody. They are being held at the Yima City Detention Center.
Mr. Yang Qingyi was sentenced to two years of forced labor in 2004 for clarifying the truth to students. Her daughter, who was in middle school, was left at home alone.
Mr. Yang Yong was a teacher at the Mianchi County No. 2 High School. In 2003, he was sentenced to two years of forced labor for practicing Falun Gong. Mr. Yang's wife is now taking care of an eighteen-month-old son and an 10-year-old daughter.
38. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Niu Qingquan Taken into Custody
39. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Lan Taken into Custody
Ms. Wang Lan lives in the family quarters of Zhengzhou Industrial University. At 9:00 p.m. on July 22, 2008, officers from the Wenhua Road Police Station in Jinshui District took Ms. Wang into custody at her home.
40. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Yi Taken into Custody
On July 29, 2008, Mr. Li Yi, an employee of the Zhucheng Seeds Company, was about to have lunch. Suddenly, seven or eight police officers broke in and took him into custody. The officers also unlawfully searched Mr. Li's home.
41. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Sun Kaiqing Taken to Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp to Serve One Year of Forced Labor at End of April
42. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Shuyan, a Teacher at Jinguangyu Village Elementary School in Qianxi County Taken into Custody on July 28
43. [Mengyin County, Hubei Province] Mr. Sun Difa Taken into Custody
Mr. Sun Difa, who lives in Sunjiamayu Village in Taoqu Town, Mengyin Town, was turned in to the authorities by his daughter-in-law. At around 11:00 a.m. on July 29, 2008, the police broke into his home. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, copies of the Chinese edition of Clearwisdom Weekly, and other materials. Mr. Sun was taken into custody and held at the Mengyin County 610 Office.
44. [Wuxue City, Hubei Province] Mr. Xu Linfu and Other Practitioners Taken into Custody
On July 27, 2008, Mr. Xu Linfu, Mr. Xu Dongsheng, Ms. Ma Qiurong, Mr. Zhu Guosheng, Mr. Liu Jigang, and Mr. Fang Tianming were taken into custody.
45. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wu Yanchun and Mr. Xie Jinde Taken to Prison
Mr. Wu Yanchun, a handicapped practitioner in the Acheng area in Harbin City (who was paralyzed before practicing Falun Gong), and Mr. Xie Jinde have been unlawfully sentenced to 18 months and 12 months in prison respectively. In mid-July they were taken to the Daqing Prison and the Harbin No. 3 Detention Center respectively. Mr. Guo Gang and Mr. Ren Zhongde have been unlawfully sentenced to five years in prison. They were taken to the Daqing Prison but were not admitted due to symptoms of illness that developed. The two practitioners remain in custody at the Acheng No. 1 Detention Center.
46. [Beijing] Mr. Li Gang and His Wife Ms. Xiao in Balizhuang Area in Chaoyang District Missing Since Mid-July
47. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hou Baoqin and Other Practitioners Taken into Custody
On July 23, Ms. Hou Baoqin, Ms. Xu Jinping, Ms. Jia Cuilan, and a practitioner with the last name You were taken into custody by officers from the Sifang Police Department. The practitioners were held at different police stations. The police searched the practitioners' homes the same afternoon. They confiscated computers, printers and books.
48. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Dong Qiang's Home Searched and Mr. Yang Zheng Taken into Custody
On the morning of July 29, three officers from the Fengnan Town Police Station and one from the Domestic Security Division broke into Mr. Dong Qiang's home while he was not in. The police confiscated Falun Dafa books and truth clarification DVDs.
On July 28, officers from the Daodi Town Police Station in Fengnan District broke into Mr. Yang Zheng's home. They confiscated Falun Dafa books and weekly publications. When Mr. Yang returned home in the evening, the police took him into custody and took a computer and a printer.
49. [Tonghe County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Yan Zhijun Taken into Custody
On July 29, 2008, Mr. Yan Zhijun was taken into custody at her home in Hongqi Village in Fulin Township, Tonghe County. The police confiscated his computer and printer.

50. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Wang Yong Taken into Custody
Mr. Wang Yong, in his fifties, is a professor at Jiangsu University in Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province. Two weeks ago, he was secretly arrested. Mr. Wang has been unlawfully detained and sent to a forced labor camp several times since 1999.
51. [Yangyuan County, Hebei Province] Mr. Xin and Mr. Li Liandong Taken into Custody
On July 27, officers from the Yangyuan County Police Department and those from the Beijing City Police Department took into custody Mr. Xin, in his fifties, and Mr. Li Liandong, around 35 years old, who were working odd jobs in Beijing.
At 5:00 p.m. on July 28, officers from the Yangyuan County Police Department, the Sanmafang Police Station in Yangyuan County, and the Laoyazhuang Police Station in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province took into custody Ms. Miao Fang, who is a non-practitioner working odd jobs in Zhangjiakou City. Ms. Miao Fang is the daughter of Ms. Miao Zhuzhen, a practitioner from the Sanmafang area. She was taken to the Yangyuan County Detention Center.
52. [Hebei Province] Several Practitioners in High and New Technology Development District Taken into Custody
On the morning of July 26, 2008, nine police officers from the Maludong Police Station in the High and New Technology Development District in Zhangjiakou City took into custody Mr. Peng Yushan and his wife Ms. Qi, who were grocery shopping. The officers also searched the couple's home. Mr. Peng has been unlawfully detained; Ms. Qi is held in custody.
On the morning of July 26, a female practitioner was taken into custody by officers who jumped into her yard in Yaojiafang Township in Xuanhua County. She was taken to the Maludong Police Station and placed under detention. Her child was also taken into custody.
At around 10:30 a.m. on July 26, officers from the Maludong Police Station took into custody Ms. Wang Zhijun, who was grocery shopping. They slapped, beat and threatened her in public. Ms. Wang was released only after she was forced to promise in writing not to go into Beijing. Her identification card was taken by the police, and she cannot travel freely.
On the morning of July 26, five officers led by the director of the Maludong Police Station took Mr. Zhang Weiyang to the police station while Mr. Zhang was working overtime. He was released only after he promised in writing not to go to Beijing. His identification card was taken by the police, and he cannot travel freely.
53. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Eight Practitioners Taken into Custody at End of July 2008
54. [Lanxi City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Zhao Shuying and Several Other Practitioners Recently Unlawfully Detained on Criminal Charges

55. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Mr. Qin Guifu Taken into Police Custody at Home
At around 5:00 p.m. on July 28, Mr. Qin Guifu was taken into custody by officers from the police station who broke into his home. His whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Zuo Shougang's wife returned home. Her husband, who was taken into custody with her in Dashimiao Town on July 13, remains in custody. Ms. Wang Ruifen and Ms. He Fengyu in Shuangluan District, who were taken into custody on July 13, have returned home after being unlawfully held in custody for 12 days.
(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."
