(Clearwisdom.net) The Central News Agency reported on May 31, 2007, that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had intensified the persecution of Falun Gong and illegally arrested a number of practitioners and their family members. Democratic Progressive Party member Tien Chiu-chin and the Taiwan Falun Dafa Association held a press conference today to support practitioners, to condemn the CCP's violent persecution of Falun Gong, and to urge the CCP to immediately release four practitioners that were arrested inside China last year.

The Taiwan Falun Dafa Association said that in the past year, four Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners and a practitioner's family member were arrested in China and that the CCP's national security staff even threatened detained practitioners that "[we will] capture any practitioner as soon as [we] see one." The Association condemned the fact that the violent persecution has been stepped up.

Democratic Progressive Party member Tien Chiu-chin said that the United Nations Human Rights Commission just released an investigative report in early May, pointing out that before 2001, the CCP had started a large scale illegal seizure of Falun Gong practitioners' organs, and some hospitals had even been involved in trafficking in practitioners' organs.

Tien Chiu-chin said that the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong is not simply a matter of "the CCP beating its children behind closed doors." He said, "The world's human rights and universal values are being infringed upon and challenged, so the world should be concerned about and pay attention to the arrest of any Falun Gong practitioner, instead of letting the CCP do what it wants in the dark."

Human Rights Law Foundation lawyer Chu Wan-chi said that, from the human rights' perspective, there is no so-called "Falun Gong issue," only the "issue of human rights in China." The CCP's "red terror" rule and persecution not only has extended to Hong Kong but also has affected Taiwan Falun Gong practitioners.

Chu Wan-chi pointed out that from 2001 to 2005, 250 Taiwan Falun Gong practitioners were recorded on a blacklist and repatriated by Hong Kong. CCP special agents even brazenly splashed red paint on Falun Gong practitioners' display stand and verbally abused and threatened practitioners' lives and property. It also informs those people in Taiwan who still have illusions about Hong Kong's "One Country, Two Systems," that the "One Country, Two Systems" has been a complete lie for the past ten years.

Tien Chiu-chin and the Taiwan Falun Dafa Association not only condemned the CCP's violent persecution of Falun Gong, but also urged the CCP to immediately release four Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners within the year.
