(Clearwisdom.net) On December 21, 2007, NTDTV's Holiday Wonders show continued at the Beacon Theatre on Broadway, New York. Ms. Christine Walevska, a world-renowned cellist, watched the show for the second time and praised two of the singers, Guan Guimin and Hong Ming, as world class tenors. Many audience members were impressed and moved by the songs performed in Holiday Wonders.
Audience members of different ethnicities are visibly moved during the performance
Ms. Christine Walevska, world-renowned cellist, watched the show again on December 21 after seeing it first on December 18. She said that one needs time to experience and savor such a wonderful performance
Helena Kinsley, owner of a retail shop, said that watching the show gave her feelings of calm, peace, delight, happiness and comfort
Ted L'Estronge from the UK said that the performance was wonderful and seemed to take him back to ancient times
Pamela Berman, Chairman of PLB Communications, said that she could feel the Chinese people's elegance and dignity from watching the show
Arnold Gumowitz (second from right), President of Aquadeco, said that the whole performance has a power and purity, which he could experience spiritually and physically
E. Donald Challis, Vice President of BES Company affiliated with Berkeley College, said that classical art is from God
Tenor Hong Ming, first-class Chinese national singer, has won over 33 awards in professional vocal contests
Tenor Guan Guimin, first-class Chinese national singer, graduated from the Department of Opera, China Music Institute. He is well-known in China and has performed in many countries. He is called "China's Tenor."
After watching the first show on December 18, Ms. Christine Walevska came to see the show again on December 21. She said that the performance was perfect, with deep inner meaning. She said that the more you watch, the more you understand the flavor. She was especially impressed with the tenors and said that they were among the best tenors in the world. Ms. Walevska indicated that this was the best concert she had ever seen. She said that the show seemed to be truly divinely inspired.
This is the first season for tenor Hong Ming to participate in Divine Performing Arts' Holiday Wonders shows. His song, "Rest in Knowing" was composed by himself. He said, "This song has deep inner connotations for me." In the song he sings, "I still save sentient beings though I suffer in hardship. World's people in a maze, please distinguish right and wrong, kindness and evil."
Hong Ming explained, "As a signer, besides having artistic training and singing skill, one must have a clear picture in one's mind while singing. After a whole thinking process is formed, one can express his feelings and realm, and thus have the audience feel it too."
There were many Western people in the audience. As the singers sang in Chinese, English translations appeared on the backdrops so that the audience could understand the lyrics. Many people indicated that they were impressed with the three singers and moved by their songs.
Arnold Gumowitz, President of Aquadeco, said that the tenors' singing was powerful and close to his heart. He said he has been to many concerts and this one was unique and refreshing in terms of the music, dance, costumes, color and backdrops. He said it was all wonderful.
E. Donald Challis, Vice President of BES Company affiliated with Berkeley College, said that the performance was wonderful, kind, delicate, direct, and gentle. He said that these were truly classical characteristics and also heavenly characteristics. He felt that the songs were pure and powerful. Mr. Challis indicated that a performer's spiritual realm can be reflected in his performance. He said that an artist with a pure and bright inner mind will bring pure and righteous artworks to the audience, just as we saw in the show this evening.
Upon hearing about the positive audience feedback, tenor Hong Ming said that he was very happy that the audience was moved by his song. He said his biggest wish is to bring an inspiring and bright message to the audience. "I am pleased that the audience understands the song. The role of art is to have people understand and participate."
He continued, "What one has experienced and what one wants to present are interrelated. For example, if you live in an unhealthy environment and get influenced by it, your song would carry unhealthy messages. Nowadays many arts have been affected this way."
"Righteous art should be healthy, uplifting, kind, and delightful. Even when expressing sorrow, the song should not be painful to listen to. If one's inner heart is graceful and bright, the lyrics, music or song will be clean and pure."
He also hoped that Westerners could sing Chinese songs, especially the songs of Divine Performing Arts. Hong Ming said, "Our works seem simple on the surface, but each note or word has integrity and deep inner connotations. The more you sing, the more you feel its meaning."

(Clearwisdom.net) The curtain descended on the second show of Holiday Wonders at Ovens Auditorium in Charlotte, North Carolina on the evening of December 20, 2007. The wonderful performance by the Divine Performing Arts Company (DPA) won prolonged applause.
Artists answer curtain call at the end of their second show in Charlotte, North Carolina on the evening of Dec. 20, 2007
Dianne and Donald McNanus had high praise from the show
Audience members of different backgrounds were enthralled by the performances, which are so rich in content and characteristic of traditional Chinese culture.
Charlotte Audiences Love the Show
High school students Mallory Jones and Megan Smith loved the performance and the costumes of the Tang drummers. The artists' movements were perfect though they had to jump so high and execute such complicated movements. They also thought the show was very educational. For example, "The Ladies of the Manchu Court" showed the audience the unique costume and shoes of Manchu princesses.
Mr. Li Baozhu, a restaurant owner in Charlotte, was very impressed with "The Ladies of the Manchu Court." He said, "I am from Shanghai, and my furniture and decoration are all in the Chinese style. The backdrop colors and costume colors in 'The Ladies of the Manchu Court' are very harmonious and pleasant."
Mr. Oyang Rongcheng, an ethnic Chinese from Cambodia, has Manchu blood. He felt that "The Ladies of the Manchu Court" conveyed the original flavor of Manchu dance. He said, "The artists did an outstanding job. My ancestors were Manchu. I can sense the flavor of Manchu from the dance."
Dianne and her brother Donald McManus loved the show. Dianne is teacher in a junior high. She liked the costumes, especially those in the fan dance. Donald is a pastor and writer. He had written a book about missionaries who were long stationed in China. He also liked the fan dance and the drums in "Drummers of the Tang Court."
An Educational Opportunity
The Divine Performing Arts Company brought the audience a world of pure truthfulness and compassion. The matchless backdrops, music and dance spread the inner meaning of the divinely-inspired Chinese culture. Many parents viewed it as a great educational opportunity for their children.
Mr. Ye, a Chinese American from Cambodia who has lived in the U.S. for twenty years, brought his whole family to the show. He said, "The performance is very professional. My son was born here. This performance teaches him a lot about traditional Chinese culture."
The mother of thirteen-year-old Al said, "I want him to learn about China. I like the Chinese costumes the best. China is such a great country. I have never been to China, but I will go there someday. I brought my son to the show as a Christmas gift. It is educational for him."
Seven-year-old Wei Miaomiao was adopted from Guiling, China. Her parents brought her to the show to introduce Chinese tradition to her.
Claudia's grandma came to the U.S. from Singapore twenty-two years ago. She said, "I would like to show my granddaughter what traditional Chinese culture is because I am Chinese. The show is very educational. It is a Christmas gift to my granddaughter."
Parents of children at Smith Academy of International Language brought their children, who study Chinese at school, to further expose them to Chinese culture through the arts.
World-Class Performance
Mr. Wang Xuejun, Associate Director of the Divine Performing Arts Company, said that Holiday Wonders is a world-class production. Everything, including the stage designs, backdrops, animation, costumes, music, dance and song, was professionally designed and performed. "As soon as the curtain opens, the audience will be awestruck by the backdrops and music."
An Indian-American man said after the show that he had the impulse to tell the organizers how much he admired the spirit of the show. It presented something noble, but he couldn't quite describe it. He could feel the great spirit. He repeated, "I am full of admiration."
The next stop of the Divine Performing Arts Company will be the War Memorial Auditorium in Greensboro, North Carolina on December 23.
(Clearwisdom.net) The third "Holiday Wonders" performance was held at the Beacon Theatre in Manhattan on December 20. As in previous shows, the audience was deeply attracted to the profound Chinese culture demonstrated on stage.
The end of the show
The audience warmly welcomes the performance.
Miguel Angel Diaz Urbano and his wife, from Venezuela
Fireman Vincent Forras and eight family members
Westerners understand the style of Chinese dances
Liam O'Neil, a Chinese teacher from Goshen Middle School, brought 35 of his students to the show. He said the show was really wonderful, and the dances were like moving pictures, telling people appealing stories. Liam's students liked "Drummers of the Tang Court", which also caught the attention of many others, such as Liz and Kari Fromwiller, restaurant owners in New York City, and Paul Chin, a businessman. They all agreed that the drum dance was a perfect combination of beauty and power.
Mark Lamura of New York City, an actor, liked the traditional Chinese dances in the show, which he found was very different than ballet. Amber Ward and her daughter Emily liked the dance "Water Sleeves," which gave them a peaceful feeling.
A Taste of profound Chinese culture
Miguel Angel Diaz Urbano and his wife are from Venezuela. Ms. Urbano said she never saw a show that was able to so perfectly combine traditional Eastern and Western arts. She was amazed by the rich Chinese culture.
Ms. Urbano was particularly attracted to the use of colors in the show. The colors of the background and costumes were bright, and harmonious, rich and not repetitive.
Ms. Urbano was touched by the dance, "The Power of Awareness," which tells the story of Chinese police publicly assaulting a mother and child who practice Falun Gong. But onlookers, empowered by having just learned the truth about the practice from the couple, feel compelled to step in to stop the abuse in a remarkable show of humanity.
Vincent Forras of New York is a retired fireman who was among the "9.11" rescuers. He and eight other family members watched the show and were also deeply touched by "The Power of Awareness ." Ms. Forras said that she cried during the whole dance. She'd heard about the Chinese Consulate's interference with the show. She said that the CCP's policemen are really evil. Mr. Forras's son-in-law-to-be is a medical school student from South Africa. He described the show as "magical" and "spiritual" and said that "The Power of Awareness" was very encouraging.
Mr. Forras had fought fires during "9.11," and saw his co-worker die in a fire. This extraordinary experience taught him to treat people with love instead of hate. As a founder of "Gear Up Foundation", which was created to help the victims of "9.11," Mr. Forras said that he would recommend the "Holiday Wonders" to the families of the "9.11" victims. He has heard about the persecution of Falun Gong and hopes that with everybody's help, the Chinese people will have freedom some day soon.
(Cleawisdom.net) The Divine Performing Arts (DPA) will visit Southern Florida for the first time and give two shows in the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale on December 27 and 28, 2007. The Chinese Consulate General in Houston, Texas wrote to Mayor Jim Naugle of Fort Lauderdale, asking him not to attend the show. Mayor Naugle thought the letter was inappropriate. He issued a proclamation to the DPA and plans to watch the show.
Mayor Jim Naugle of Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Mayor Naugle prepared a warm welcoming letter for the coming Divine Performing Arts Company and declared December 27 as "Holiday Wonders Day".
On Wednesday, December 19, Mayor Naugle signed the proclamation and told Nancy Xia, a local organizer for the Holiday Wonders show in Florida, "Did you know I received a letter from the Chinese Consulate General in Houston, Texas. It says that the show is related to Falun Gong. So what? I don't care."
Mayor Naugle indicated that he had previously planned to attend only the reception of the DPA show due to his busy schedule, but now he's thinking about attending the Holiday Wonders show as well.
Based on previous experience, the Chinese Consulate's interference always results in the opposite of what the CCP intends. Tickets for the two shows are selling quickly, and there are only a few front row seats left.
Before the Holiday Wonders show in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Chinese Embassy called the auditorium and claimed the show was related to Falun Gong in an attempt to interfere with the show. The auditorium manager said on the phone, "We are a public facility and welcome any event. If they pay the deposit and sign the contract, we don't have a reason to discriminate against any group."Â
The Charlotte Observer reported this incident on December 14. Julie York Coppens stated in the article, "The show celebrates Chinese culture in its fullest flower -- and the Chinese government doesn't want you to see it." The show went on as scheduled, despite the CCP interference.
Many readers of the newspaper learned about the show from the report and came to watch it. Ms. Bullen from South Carolina bought four tickets for the show and told the ticket staff, "I learned about the Chinese embassy's interference from the Observer's report. I decided to come and watch."
The DPA touring company's Holiday Wonders show will be held in Fort Lauderdale on December 27 and 28. The location is Broward Center for the Performing Arts. For tickets, go to http://www.browardcenter.org/events/holidaywonders.aspx.
(Clearwisdom.net) On December 18, 2007, just before the opening performance of NTDTV's Holiday Wonders, New York Assemblyman Michael Benjamin received a letter from the Chinese Consulate General in New York. He later made this letter public. The slanderous letter defamed Falun Gong and pressured the assemblyman with "Chinese American relations" not to support the Holiday Wonders or the Chinese New Year Spectacular shows in any way.
Assemblyman Benjamin said that he wanted everyone to know what the CCP did. Assemblyman Benjamin's wife, Ms. Kennedy Benjamin, said that she only planned to go to the reception originally, but she decided to make time to watch the show because of the slanderous letter.
Sending a Threatening Letter to an American Assemblymen Is a Sign of the CCP's Fear
NTDTV spokesperson Carrie Hong said that the CCP's letter is full of slander and defamatory remarks because NTDTV promotes culture and art that negate the Party's own culture. The CCP is fearful of NTDTV's mission.
Ms. Hong said that based on previous experience, each time the CCP has attempted to interfere with an NTDTV event, the event was actually promoted instead, including the annual New Year's show and the International Chinese Classical Dance Competition. Many people attended after they heard about the events from the CCP's efforts to defame them.
She pointed out that before NTDTV's Chinese New Year Spectacular show in Canberra, Australia last year, the Chinese Embassy wrote to members of Parliament and asked them not to see the show. Not surprisingly, all the members of Parliament went to see the show. One of them said humorously, "We can hold a session before the show."
NTDTV is Exposing the Truth, Thus Making the CCP Uneasy
Since the establishment of NTDTV six years ago, it has reported in detail on sensitive topics of great interest to the Chinese communities, which are often blocked by the Communist regime. Because it has refused to cave in to financial incentives or political pressure, the CCP sees it as a major threat.
On December 16, 2003, China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television issued an urgent, encrypted telegraph to provincial, district, municipal, and autonomous regions' radio and TV bureaus. In this message, "officials at the Central Government" gave instructions for interfering with NTDTV's Chinese New Year shows. During Christmas of 2003, Australian singer Christian Bischoff had flown to New York at the invitation of NTDTV to perform in the New Year's show. But three hours before his flight from Australia to New York, he received a phone call from the Chinese consulate, trying to dissuade him from giving the performance.
In January 2004, Zhou Xiaomei, Consul for Political & Press Affairs of the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles, wrote letters to some prominent U.S. figures, asking them not to accept interviews from NTDTV regarding its global Chinese New Year performance. On February 9, 2004, Wang Lili, head of the Discipline Inspection Group and part of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Discipline Inspection Committee stationed at the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, spoke at a Task Force Meeting attacking NTDTV's Inaugural Global Chinese New Year Gala.
In June 2005, the CCP coerced Eutelsat, the European telecommunications satellite company, into reneging on its contract with NTDTV by threatening to refuse the company rights to the Olympics. In 2006, two Australian ballet dancers pulled out of the 2006 NTDTV gala after the CCP threatened to cancel their show that was touring in China. Early this year, the CCP pressured the Korean National Theater in Seoul through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Department of Culture to cancel NTDTV's performance on January 6, 2007, by threatening to cancel a National Theater performance slated for China.
Exquisite Performances by Divine Performing Arts Are Widely Welcomed by People from All Walks of Life
In 2007, Divine Performing Arts has visited over 30 cities in the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and Korea, giving over 80 performances and attracting full houses everywhere it went. More than 200,000 attended the shows. People from all walks of life complimented the performances, as they showcased the broadness and profundity of China's divinely inspired culture, enlightening the world's people to the Buddha's grace and benevolence, and leading them to further appreciate the beauty of pure, authentic culture and art.
Based on feedback from the audience, we learned that Divine Performing Arts' performances provided them an opportunity to appreciate the profundity of traditional Chinese culture and ponder the inner meaning of Falun Dafa. They also became clearer about how the Chinese Communist Party persecutes Falun Gong. The performances focused on creating and finding humanity's authentic culture and resonated with people from all walks of life and from different cultural backgrounds.
The CCP Is Intent on Destroying Chinese Culture and Regards Divine Performing Arts as a Thorn in Its Side
Chinese culture, which spans over 5,000 years, was infused with elements of cultivation from the Buddhist and Taoist schools. The inner meaning of Chinese culture calls for harmony and union between mankind and nature. Many stories of cultivation describe the experience of becoming a deity or an enlightened being. Falun Gong, which was brought to the public in 1992, may be considered the most important representation of the culture of cultivation in China. The practice encourages self-reflection and returning to one's original, true self. As a result, it spread very fast and gained a firm following.
The CCP's 80-year history is one of destruction of traditional Chinese culture. Starting in the 1920s, when Mao Zedong advocated the killing of wealthy land owners, to the Cultural Revolution in the 1970s, Chinese culture experienced an unprecedented destruction. Historical archives and books were destroyed in large quantities. Ancient temples and buildings were torn down. In various levels of Chinese schools, atheism and Marxist-Leninist thought became gospel. Traditional values were cast aside.
The Divine Performing Arts performances have been moving experiences for audiences worldwide. The performances showcased the profound connotations of the unity of Heaven and man, as well as the divinely inspired Chinese culture. Through elegant and artistic methods, it also exposed the Chinese Communist Party's brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, and conveyed the message that "Good will be rewarded and evil will be punished" and that of compassionate salvation. They help the audience to see the CCP's true nature and support the practitioners' efforts against the persecution.
The CCP's Interference Actually Helps to Promote Divine Performing Arts
When Divine Performing Arts toured Europe, the company received rave reviews. The CCP attempted to undermine the shows by harassing the sponsors, flooding ticket hot-lines, instigating Chinese students to disrupt the shows and employing other shameful methods. Many people have condemned the CCP's actions. Later, the CCP once again used similar tactics in the Asia-Pacific region. On February 7, 2007, Coex Theatre in Korea signed a contract with NTDTV Korea to provide the venue for the Divine Performing Arts performance. On March 14, however, Coex suddenly canceled the contract. NTDTV Korea believed that the theater did so because of pressure from the Chinese Embassy and decided to sue. In the verdict issued on the morning of April 20, the Seoul Central Court judge found all the arguments of the Coex Theater invalid. The performances were staged on April 24 to 25 as scheduled. The tickets were quickly sold out.
The night before the "Divine Performing Arts" performance in Sydney, Australia, ABC-TV's flagship current affairs program "Lateline" reported in prime time that the CCP had exerted pressure on some people, trying to keep them from going to the show. Mr. Ian Cohen, NSW MP and spokesman of the Greens, was disgusted by the CCP's actions after watching the Lateline report. On the morning of March 29, he published a media release entitled "Chinese Government Bullying Will not Stop Green MP's Attendance." He said: "Tonight's show will be an event not to be missed. The overreaction of the Chinese government officials begs the question--what have they got to hide?" On April 5, New Zealand Green Party MP and spokesperson for Foreign Affairs Keith Locke wrote a letter to the sponsors of Divine Performing Arts to congratulate them on the upcoming show and condemned the CCP's interference. The Chinese Consulate in Auckland made phone calls to New Zealand officials to warn them not to watch the Divine Performing Arts shows. Dozens of dignitaries who had planned to watch the performance received similar phone calls. They said that they felt great pressure, but still went ahead to see the show as planned. The CCP even threatened Chinese students overseas, telling them that if they are photographed at the event, they will not be allowed back in their home country.
Before the performance, the Chinese Consulate in Auckland, New Zealand exerted pressure on seven mayors in the greater Auckland region via telephone. This was rapidly exposed by many local mainstream media, and this turned Divine Performing Arts into a hot topic. After seeing the reports, many people went to watch the show. One of the theater staff members said that the CCP's interference amounted to free advertising for the Divine Performing Arts.
Various Countries Support Efforts Against the Persecution, NTDTV and Divine Performing Arts
The Eutelsat incident three years ago enabled NTDTV to become more widely known. NTDTV received wide support and tremendous help from members of the European Parliament, US government officials, the media, human rights organizations, and many others. In the end, NTDTV signed a six-year contract with Eutelsat. Six days after the Seoul incident this year, the Canadian Prime Minister and other government officials wrote letters to celebrate the Chinese New Year and acknowledge NTDTV's contribution to cultural diversity. Recently prior to the Holiday Wonders performances by Divine Performing Arts, many U.S. and Canadian officials sent congratulatory letters to NTDTV.
China's 5,000 years of civilization is the authentic culture that heavenly beings imparted to human beings. Divine Performing Arts is showcasing authentic Chinese classical dances and other arts, a consummate manifestation of the pure, compassionate and beautiful divinely-imparted culture. The performances reveal rich connotations of belief in Gods and Buddhas, as well as the unity of Heaven and man, and also carries forward the brilliance of human nature and the preciousness of life. Divine Performing Arts tours around the globe, awakens people's purity and goodness deep within their hearts, and guides people towards a new and wonderful future.
In the past few decades, the wicked CCP has denied ancient Chinese culture and undermined its principles, the morality and civilization that divine beings imparted to man, and brought about an unprecedented cultural catastrophe. NTDTV is outspoken and exposes the truth, forming a sharp contrast with the CCP's lies. Divine Performing Arts promotes China's divinely inspired culture, which terrifies the CCP. The 30 million people who have quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations make it even more obvious that the CCP is close to collapse. Evil cannot overcome good, and when the people see the facts and stand up to end this persecution, the CCP will perish.
(Clearwisdom.net) On December 8, 2007, French and Belgian Falun Gong practitioners organized an activity in the northern industrial city of Lille, France to raise awareness about Falun Gong and the persecution. Lille is the capital city of France's Northern Province. Its population exceeds one million and it is a very important industrial and commercial center, and a transportation hub. This activity was the first of its kind in this city.
Shoppers view pictures depicting the persecution of Falun Gong
Practitioners chat about Falun Gong with passers-by
There is only one practitioner in the Lille area, so, in order for the activity to be a success, Parisian and Belgian practitioners went to support. Among them, the youngest was only seven years old. The activity took place from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the afternoon. The practitioners displayed banners, photographs exposing the persecution in China, and demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises. A practitioner played the flute while others distributed leaflets to passersby. Many people stopped and watched. Although it was very cold that day and it was raining continuously, the practitioners cherished this opportunity and persisted in doing a good job despite the heavy rain.

(Clearwisdom.net) The Health Department of Thailand held the 12th Spiritual Science International Exhibition recently. The theme of the exhibition was "The Power of Spirit Creates Good Health." Close of one hundred medical, Qigong, sports and religious groups participated in the exhibition. Falun Gong also participated under invitation.
The Falun Gong Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance Art Exhibition was set up on the second floor of the exhibition venue.
Many monks in yellow kasaya were among the visitors to the art exhibition. They came in small groups and were fascinated by the artwork on the wall. One of them explained with great interest to another monk, pointing at the cherub in the painting, "In Harmony." He obviously understood it. The monks all took literature introducing Falun Dafa, and some bought Falun Dafa books. A young monk heard the Dafa music "Pu Du" when passing the exhibition room. He said his spirit was so moved that he couldn't describe it by any language. He walked in and asked if he could learn Falun Gong.
The whole country of Thailand is blessed by Buddhist culture. It may be why many people had such positive feedback at the exhibition.
Three Thais walked into the exhibition room around noon. When they were passing a painting called "Homeless," one of them stopped there as if he was stirred. He put one hand in front of his chest and said, "There is energy." He walked around the room and said that other paintings also carried energy.
He wasn't the only who could feel energy. Another Thai person said that he felt very hot standing in front of the same painting. After hearing the introduction to Falun Gong, he learned the exercises with great enthusiasm. He pointed to his lower abdomen with excitement and said that something was rotating inside. He bought Falun Dafa CD and books and asked for details about group exercise sites.
Another Thai person said, as soon as he saw the painting "In Harmony," "It is energy above her head. The energy comes from the universe."
Most people listened to the introductions and studied the paintings carefully. Many wanted to learn Falun Gong. Some said they were attracted to the energy field. One said that Falun Gong was exactly what he was looking for. A middle-aged gentleman bought two sets of books and CDs. He said he had met Master Li in Thailand. He believes that Falun Gong was great, and bought these book to share with his friends.
The people of Thailand in general seem to have a strong spiritual connection and are very receptive to Falun Gong.
(Clearwisdom.net) On December 10, 2007, International Human Rights Day, Falun Gong practitioners from Helsinki gathered outside the Chinese Embassy to protest against the Chinese Communist Party's genocide of Falun Gong over the past eight years. In the late afternoon, they held a candlelight vigil to mourn Falun Gong practitioners who have died as a result of the persecution.
Falun Gong practitioners have been protesting against the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong and calling for an immediate stop to the persecution outside the Chinese Embassy on weekdays all year round. Because of the practitioners' truth-clarification, many people going to the consulate for visas to China have learned the facts about Falun Gong and the CCP's atrocities against the practice. Recently, when a Falun Gong practitioner was asked by a news reporter from the Finnish MTV3 TV station about when they would stop the protest, he answered that they will keep up the peaceful protest until the persecution ends.
It was already dark by 4:00 pm. During the candlelight vigil the practitioners displayed images of those who died due to the persecution, and put up a banner which read, "Immediately stop the persecution of Falun Gong." The practitioners conveyed their hopes that the CCP's atrocities against Falun Gong will be brought to an end through the joint effort of all people.
Many people accepted flyers about Falun Gong from practitioners. Some youngsters asked why such terrible things were happening today. A man from Turkey said to a practitioner, "I know about the communist party. They always do bad things. You are doing very well [to expose the facts]."

Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp in Changsha City, Human Province is infamous for persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. I'd like to provide details about what has occurred there.
Mr. Xiao Chongjian Tortured by Camp Guards
Around 7 p.m. on September 16, 2007, prison guards Li Sujun and Xiao Jie took Mr. Xiao Chongjian to section C to try to force him to renounce the practice of Falun Gong . This section of the camp is used to torture Falun Gong practitioners. Guard Xiao Jie used a fully-charged electric baton to repeatedly shock Mr. Xiao. Li Sujun tortured Mr. Xiao for over three hours using his fists, elbows, knees, and a baton. Mr. Xiao was severely injured. The internal injuries resulted in pulmonary edema and pleural effusion.
It has been reported that a Falun Gong practitioner was tortured so severely in this camp that he is no longer able to walk. It takes four people to help him use the toilet. Another practitioner went on a hunger strike to protest the brutal treatment he received. He was force-fed so cruelly that two of his teeth were broken.
High Profits from Prison Labor, Conditions the International Community Cannot Imagine
Practitioners being held in Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp make various commercial products. The camp workshops are full of dust and trash. The conditions are unsanitary and not suitable for any kind of production. However, food wrappers are made here, including those used for ready-to-eat food. Some criminal (non-practitioner) inmates even intentionally put mucus and feces on the wrappers to vent their grievances.
Products made here include wrappers for Duck Necks from Hunan, Chongqing, and Zhengzhou; wrappers for Hunan Special Candy; chopsticks used at the Southern Pearl Hotel of Changsha; toothpicks for Pingxiang in Jiangxi; Hunan yogurt containers; chestnuts; Renbaoce thermometers; Laiyang Hanpian, and more. All of the above products are manufactured using free prison labor.
Guard Wu Bin admitted that this kind of illegal profit-making couldn't happen in Western countries, and is unimaginable to the international community. The cruelty that goes on inside is also not found in any other civilized society. The camp doctors act like they are treating animals, and the guards are killing machines.
(Clearwisdom.net) Chen Yujiang is detained at the Xinjiang No. 5 Jail and has developed tuberculosis of the lungs since his imprisonment. His life is in danger.
Chen Yujiang, 27 years old, is a salesperson for the Urumchi Company. Since July 20, 1999 Chen has used various means to clarify the truth to people. Once, when he was posting banners he was arrested and sent to a detention center. On December 1, 2004 he was sent to Xinjiang No. 5 Jail, No.7 Area.
Chen Yujiang clarified the truth to the guards and began a hunger strike. On December 6 he was sent to the jail hospital but still suffered persecution. Chen continued the hunger strike until February 2007. During that time the jail arranged for prisoners to assist the guards in the persecution. Besides forced transfusions, the guards mainly used forced feeding through a nasal tube. Two months later they switched to a crueler method of open-mouth tube forced feeding. Chen was locked into a small cell twice, although he was very weak due to his hunger strike.
During over two years of persecution, Chen has become emaciated. In March 2007 Chen was diagnosed with tuberculosis of the lungs. Chen's life is in danger. This was the situation as of May 2007. His present situation is not known.
The authorities directly plotting the persecution are Wu Tianquan and Zhang Yongjun, two chiefs in the Education Office, and a policeman, Guan.

Practitioner Ms. Li Ying Died as a Result of Persecution
Ms. Li Ying, a Falun Gong practitioner from Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, was 61 years old. She began practicing in 1997. After that, her health improved, and she often said that it was Teacher who saved her life.
In 2002, Ms. Li appealed for the right to practice Falun Dafa. Consequently, she was detained in the Xi'an City Brainwashing Center, where she was beaten and shocked with an electric baton. She held a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and her health was seriously weakened. After six months, a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) official extorted about 10, 000 yuan from her family before releasing her.
After Ms. Li was released, she was monitored for a long time. A local police officer regularly called her and visited her to threaten and harass her. She and her family were kept under severe duress and could not have any peace. Ms. Li's health deteriorated, and she passed away on October 11, 2007.
Mr. Cui Chengming Died as a Result of Persecution
Mr. Cui Chengming, a Falun Gong practitioner from Qicun Town, Xinfu District, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, was 64 years old. His whole family suffered serious persecution. His wife Zhang Guizhen was detained three times. On January 3, 2000, the first time she was detained, she was illegally seized by officers from Xinfu District, Xinzhou City and sentenced to forced labor for two years. On September 16, 2003, she was detained for 15 days by officers from Yuanping City. On July 27, 2004, she was seized by officers from Xinfu District and sentenced to forced labor for three years. During this period, Mr. Cui was repeatedly harassed by the authorities. Mr. Cui's health deteriorated and he passed away on November 21, 2007.
(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Dong Xu is from Xiaotan Village, Baishatan Town, Weihai City, Shandong Province. On October 30, 2007, she was illegally arrested and sent to the local detention center. At around 5:00 a.m. on November 12, 2007, the police began their attempt to send Ms. Dong and another practitioner, Duan Huizhi, to a local forced labor camp for two years. Ms. Dong's husband, who had been waiting outside the detention center for quite some time, suddenly heard his wife's cry. He then saw that the police were trying to force his wife into a police van. He tried to prevent the van from leaving, but the police beat him until he passed out, and they drove away.
When the police van arrived at an intersection in the downtown area, Ms. Dong's son happened to be there. He stopped the van and noticed that his mother was handcuffed and shackled. He then climbed under the van, asking the police to release his mother. The police then made some calls asking for more police assistance.
Because it was the morning rush hour, more and more people arrived on the scene, wondering what was going on. Ms. Dong's son said loudly to the bystanders, "Look, everyone, you all can see what the Chinese Communist Party is doing to innocent people! They persecute good people!"
Several policemen came and pulled his hair and covered his mouth. Just then, Ms. Dong, who had her hands and feet handcuffed, and with her mouth bleeding, fell out of the van. The police then asked the armed police, who were summoned to help, to carry her back into the van, but the armed policemen refused, saying it was too cruel.
Ms. Dong fell out of the van several times. Each time she was forced back in. Her son kept shouting, "Falun Dafa is good! I want my mother!" The police then stuffed sand into his mouth, covered his head with clothing, and kicked his face and body. As a result, he had bruises all over his body.
The whole process lasted from 5:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. in the morning. In the end, both Ms. Dong's husband and son were taken to the detention center. Many bystanders were in tears witnessing how this family was mistreated by the police.
Later in the day both her husband and son were released. Ms. Dong's 83-year-old father-in-law collapsed upon learning of his daughter-in-law's two-year forced labor camp sentence. He was rushed to the hospital and was found to have a cerebral problem. He needed to be hospitalized right away. Ms. Dong's husband is the only son and can't take care of his father in the hospital. So the elderly father-in-law had to go home and get injections at home. Ms. Dong's mother-in-law is already bedridden. The family is in a dire situation.

(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."
Here are some examples of the Solemn Declarations:

(Clearwisdom.net) Recently when I studied the Fa, I came to an understanding about sending righteous thoughts for ticket sales for the Divine Performing Arts show. I would like to share my understanding with other practitioners. When practitioners in China and around the world send righteous thoughts every day, they should also send righteous thoughts to support the Divine Performing Arts show and its ticket sales.
Teacher said in "Fa Teaching at the 2007 New York Fa Conference":
"Of course, things are always easier said than done, and once I got involved the very nature of it changed. You all know that Dafa disciples are to validate the Fa, so then what is Master doing? Master came to do Fa-rectification. That is why once I decided to do this, everything changed--the audience members before us, the people I wanted to save, and the affair itself that was to be carried out. If this was to be done well, then it must achieve the best results and truly save and rescue people. Only then would I do it, and this had to be achieved. So I couldn't do things as before."
I understand this as an opportunity for "assisting Teacher in Fa-rectification;" this project is different from other local projects that practitioners are doing themselves. The show is also a tour. The materials distributed by practitioners in China also include content about the Divine Performing Arts, so this project for saving people is worldwide, and all practitioners, whether in China or in other countries, should support it.
In today's group study, we read "Teaching the Fa in the City of Los Angeles" (2006). Teacher said: "But New Tang Dynasty TV's Chinese New Year Gala is even bigger--it's called "The Chinese New Year Global Gala." "Global"--that includes mainland China, of course. So, think about it, isn't this a huge thing?" Actually, the current projects many practitioners are working on are also very important and have roles in many aspects of saving all beings. However, I think we should not limit our roles due to human notions, such as only wishing to save these people, but not those people, or only being responsible for things in China. The boundaries defining countries were drawn by worldly people. We all know sending righteous thoughts mainly plays a role in other dimensions.
I recall that Teacher said the main body of Falun Dafa practitioners is in China. If the main body of Falun Dafa practitioners does not participate, we will lose an opportunity created for us by Teacher, indicating that the whole body has omissions. To put it plainly, we're not cohesive. Our practitioners all over the world make up one whole body. Although we cannot go to the cities where the performances are held to help sell tickets there, we should support the effort by sending righteous thoughts.
In "Teaching the Fa at the Western U.S. Fa Conference" in Guiding the Voyage, Teacher said:
"As you know, Li Hongzhi is doing this undertaking in an ordinary human form, with a human body, using the lowest form of language among beings in the cosmos--the human language, this most simplistic human language of today--and using the lowest form of cultivation, qigong. This has left all beings throughout the cosmos unaware."
I understand that during those years, Teacher led us to cultivate in the form of Qigong; today, the Divine Performing Arts show is not so simple. Teacher is leading our practitioners to save people by way of authentic traditional Chinese Culture.
Sending righteous thoughts is a treasure. I hope, through righteous thoughts, more and more practitioners in China will also assimilate into the grand project of saving people as Teacher has led us to do.
(Clearwisdom.net) Last weekend more than sixty Toronto practitioners and I went to New York City to participate in the promotion and ticket sales activities for the Divine Performing Arts shows. During this process I came to a further understanding on the issue of believing in Master and Dafa. I also became acutely aware of my shortcomings in my personal cultivation. It made me realize Master's painstaking effort -- to take advantage of the shows, to save the world's people and give us opportunities again and again, to cultivate ourselves well. The following are some of the things I have learned, which I would like to share with fellow practitioners. Please point out any mistakes.
The Process of the Human Side Struggling with the Knowing Side
As soon as the Mid Autumn Divine Performing Arts Spectacular was over, we immediately began to sell tickets to the Chinese New Year Spectacular. An elderly practitioner phoned me after returning from New York, in the middle of being busy selling tickets. She told me that circumstances there were challenging and hoped for me to immediately go to New York to participate in ticket sales. Hearing that, I really wanted to cry. My human side began to struggle with the knowing side.
My knowing side steadfastly said, "I must go to New York to perfect and harmonize what Master wants."
The human side said, "Your husband works the night shift. If you leave, what about your child? What about the local ticket sales sites that you are responsible for? You have no more vacation time coming. If you want to take a leave, you won't get paid. How much money will this cost?"
The knowing side said, "Someone will take care of my child and I will arrange everything at the local ticket sales sites well. Can money be equated to what Master wants? Can it establish our own mighty virtue?"
The human side said, "You are coordinating several ticket sales sites here. If you go to New York you will only distribute materials on the street. Thus, you will play a less important role than here. Is it worth going there?"
The knowing side said, "No matter where Dafa disciples are, if only we put forth effort to do things we can all save sentient beings. Master only looks at our hearts."
The human side said, "The task of selling the tickets locally is heavy. No matter where you are you can do Dafa work, so it is unnecessary for you to go there."
The knowing side said, "That is only an excuse to hide the human side's fear of suffering."
The human side said, "If the practitioners in New York do not work hard, you will help the situation little."
The knowing side said,
"Master said,
'You have grown used to focusing on other people's shortcomings, and never take examining your own self seriously. When others' cultivation one day meets with success, what about you? Isn't Master hoping that you are cultivating well?' ("Teaching the Fa in the City of Los Angeles") (February 25, 2006)
I only listen to Master's words and cultivate myself well."
The human side said, "You are so steadfast; I no longer forbid you from going."
Gaining an Insight from My Son's Words and Actions
The night before I went to New York my six-year-old son was doing his homework. He stopped and said to me, "Mom, I feel bad and want to sleep." I touched his head and found it somewhat hot. I thought, "This is interference."
He noticed I was depressed and said to me, "Today after school, when Auntie (his classmate's mother) took us home, Daniel (his classmate) swirled me around, making me feel dizzy. He did not stop, no matter what I said. My head was also hurt." I asked him, "Didn't you tell Auntie?" He said, "No."
He looked at me and said, "Mom, please don't tell Auntie about this!" I asked him, "Why?" He said, "If you tell Auntie, she will punish Daniel and maybe hit him."
Hearing that I was pleased with him and ashamed of myself. I was glad to see my son's compassion for others. I felt ashamed that I had not let go of my attachment to blaming others.
I encouraged my son immediately, "I will not tell her. You did so well and can be considerate of others. You are really Master's good young disciple." He was glad to tell me, "Thank you. Please play Master's lecture for me to listen to. I will get some sleep, and tomorrow I will be well and continue to do my homework."
The next morning he got up and then sat on the stairs and asked me, "Mom, why is the rotating circle (Falun) so big?" I replied, " Because you are doing well, so Master is encouraging you and shows you a very big Falun." He was very glad and said, "It is really very beautiful and has many colors." (I am regretful I cannot see it.)
He sat down and finished his homework, and then went to school on time.
This incident made me think of my recent state of mind. When I saw other practitioners' attachments during ticket sales and heard feedback about practitioners not doing well and knew of the negative atmosphere for ticket sales in New York, I would complain in my mind. After these thoughts accumulated, they affected me and made me worried and unsettled. With notions such as that, how can I do the job of a ticket sales coordinator well?
My son's words and actions gave me great insights: being compassionate to others is equal to being compassionate to ourselves. I will be full of compassion in offering sentient beings salvation and filled with strong righteous thoughts, to go to New York to harmonize what Master wants.
Master Gave Me an Opportunity to Make Up a Missed Lesson
We boarded the bus at night and arrived in New York the next morning. I took two elderly practitioners to three subway transfers and finally reached the most prosperous supermarket near the theater. The passersby were in a hurry. I shouted quickly, "Holiday Wonders! Christmas Show!" I tried my best to give every passerby an opportunity to accept my information. Many people did accept the materials right away.
After a long time I had almost finished distributing the materials. The sky grew cloudy and dark. I debated whether or not we could go back for a rest. An elderly practitioner said it was 2:00 p.m. I continued distributing materials for a while and then asked the practitioner the time again. He told me it was 2:30 p.m. At that time I felt that time was going by so slowly. I noticed that the two elderly practitioners were cordially and compassionately distributing materials to each passerby. I also noticed that a fellow practitioner dressed as a Chinese emperor wore the heavy costume and wore a helmet-like crown that gripped his head tightly. He stood there from early morning and had little rest and cheerfully distributed the materials to his "subjects."
I felt extremely ashamed. I found a huge disparity between the fellow practitioners and me. I was doing these tasks from the standpoint of wanting to finish, while those practitioners were doing the work with a compassionate mindset and from the standpoint of offering sentient beings salvation.
I finally persevered in distributing the materials until 6:30 p.m. All the materials were distributed, and we were hungry. I thought it was time to leave. Right then, the coordinating practitioner brought ten bundles of special editions of the Epoch Times newspaper by car and told us, "This supermarket is open 'till 1:00 a.m." I blurted out, "Should we distribute the materials until 1:00 a.m.?" The coordinator started to distribute the materials and then told me, "Let us try our best. It is so urgent."
Seeing other practitioners spontaneously take up the materials and continue to distribute them to the passersby, I suddenly realized that it was the opportunity that Master gave me to make up for a missed course, so I should not miss it.
I have had the role of a media reporter to validate the Fa since I started my cultivation practice. I have heard a lot of praise from fellow practitioners. For the past few years I have been the ticket sales sites coordinator. I had done little in distributing materials in Chinatown and being on duty in front of the consulate. This distribution of flyers on the streets was a good test. I appreciate the opportunity that Master gave me.
One's Cultivation Should Naturally Lead to Compassion and It Is Not Merely for Show
Seeing people accept my handouts with a smile made me think, "You are so fortunate and know it is precious." Seeing people who walked on by and looked straight ahead made me think, "You are so miserable. You are missing the opportunity to see beautiful things." When seeing their disdain and irritation, I thought, "You are so pitiful. You cannot even discern between what is good and evil."
When I had negative thought processes, fewer and fewer people accepted my handouts. By contrast, the two elderly practitioners a dozen meters away from me distributed more and more materials, even though they could not speak English. When they handed someone a flyer they smiled genuinely and in a gentle voice spoke two English phrases they just learned, "Holiday Wonders! Christmas Show!" They emitted a kind of compassionate field that made people want to accept their handouts. Many people accepted their flyers and then asked me for further information.
When I realized my incorrect thoughts and lack of compassion I sent righteous thoughts to eliminate my negative mindset and tried my best to smile and show genuine compassion to everyone.
I encountered two fashionable Chinese women. I told them in Chinese, "Christmas Show! The best Christmas gift! The whole family can go to enjoy it." Unexpectedly, they looked at me and said, "We are not interested in it at all." I watched them walk away and a negative thought emerged, "It is useless to be fashionable. They don't even care about their traditional culture." Right then someone took a handout about the show from my hand. I turned around and found a Westerner standing in front of me saying, "Thank you!" He held the handout and pointed at me with a smile and then left. His smile reminded me that I should not let my concentration waver and should do the job without losing focus. I discovered eventually that whenever I did not concentrate or wanted to see the surroundings, someone would take the initiative to ask me for materials. I realized the hints and encouragement that Master gave me, to treat every person with kindness and grasp the time to offer sentient beings salvation.
From my experiences, I have several suggestions: Practitioners who are in charge of long-term coordination or who are taking time for projects should participate in the difficult undertaking of ticket sales in New York, personally distribute materials on the street, and clarify the truth about Dafa to people and sell tickets door-to-door. In this process you can directly feel that Master is helping us eliminate the bad substances and attachments that have long existed and been hidden. When we do repetitious coordination work, we will find our job easier and more successful and can become complacent.
If we think we are too busy with our own projects and have no time to leave we can ask ourselves, "Would we go if a Fa conference was being held? Would we go if there was a project meeting and a chance to see Master?" It seems that under these circumstances we often hurry and go. At these times, why are we able part with our own projects?
Let us all cherish the repeated opportunities Master provides us!
The above is my personal understanding. Please point out any mistakes.
(Clearwisdom.net) At the beginning of October 2007, I submitted a cultivation experience sharing article. I mentioned in one paragraph how one could deal with family conflicts. When I wanted to write something about my wife's behavior, my computer screen flashed and then the page turned blank. I opened the document and found that the paragraph about my wife had disappeared. I spent half an hour retyping the information, and the same thing happened again. I was so annoyed that I turned the computer off. I opened my document sometime later and the same thing happened again. I tried to retype the paragraph, but my mouse refused to cooperate. I rebooted and only the sentence I had retyped was recovered.
I couldn't believe this was happening over and over, but only when it came to information about my wife. Then, I suddenly remembered Teacher's Fa teaching:
"Cultivate yourselves. I don't want the environment Dafa disciples have to become one in which people point fingers at each other. I want the environment to be one in which everyone can accept criticism and at the same time look inside themselves. If everyone cultivates himself, everyone looks within, and everyone cultivates himself well, won't the conflicts be few?" ("Teaching the Fa in the City of Los Angeles," February 25, 2006)
I wrote my sharing but blamed my wife instead of looking within. I should not use others' shortcomings to hide my own weaknesses. Our cultivation environment should not be a finger-pointing environment. We can only progress when we let go of attachments. I came to understand that writing experience sharing articles is also cultivation, so I deleted the sentence criticizing my wife. I had no more problems with the computer. I feel that Teacher checks to see if we truly behave like practitioners. He won't allow me to write anything that is not true cultivation.
I realized that Minghui/Clearwisdom articles are a sharing among practitioners and also a way to record the diligence of our cultivation. I sometimes doubted that this was true sharing among practitioners. After experiencing the above, however, I will never again doubt the truth of Dafa practitioners' articles. Maybe there are some weaknesses, but if we believe something not to be true cultivation improvement, we should point it out. We need to share. We all are cultivators and all of us need to improve.

(Clearwisdom.net) A while ago, fellow practitioner A always pointed out to me that I was too attached to practitioner B. Every time they had a conflict, I would always point out problems with A but never said anything about B. From my perspective, every time when conflicts arose, A always got angry and raised her voice. This led other practitioners to feel that she was not very rational. Recently, I talked to A alone and tried to resolve the conflicts between them. However, she got mad at me and scolded me. I was confused as to what the problem was.
Today I suddenly realize that it is my own problem. Because I had more contact with B, I knew more about her family and her work validating Dafa. Quite a few times, B would tell me about the pressure from her family when she does Dafa work. Seeing her in a difficult situation, I developed sympathy toward her. Gradually I began to subconsciously protect her when other practitioners pointed out her shortcomings. In retrospect, isn't this an emotional attachment?
It conforms to my human notions but does not conform to the standard of the Fa. I am protecting a human being but not validating the Fa. It is truly a hidden and impure state of mind. Am I protecting and sympathizing with B over her fear of hardship and seeking comfort? Because of my support, those attachments have been bothering B and have not been eliminated.
We also need to pay attention to other issues so that we will not get trapped in our human notions. We are Dafa disciples whose bodies are attached to the human world but whose minds are in the Fa.
I am thankful for Teacher's hints and the boundless content of Dafa.

(Clearwisdom.net) Dafa practitioners have realized that we must immediately stop this evil persecution in order to save more sentient beings. So why is the persecution still going on? In my opinion, it's because we are affected by and interfered with by the residues of the old forces and the evil specter of the Communist Party
In different places around the country in recent months, practitioners have been arrested and harassed. This has created terror in the nation, causing many practitioners to develop fear - exactly what the evil wants to see. From the perspective of the Fa-rectification, it should be Dafa practitioners that stop the persecution. However, with such a mentality of fear, can we ever end the persecution?
Just some thoughts to share with you. Please point out anything inappropriate.
