News from China
(Clearwisdom.net) It was shocking to hear the news that Falun Gong practitioner Gao Rongrong, a beautiful young woman who had been tortured with electric shocks until her face was severely disfigured, passed away on June 16, 2005 in the emergency room of China Medical University First Attached Hospital in Shenyang City after being tortured again. The Taiwan Falun Dafa Association held a press conference on June 24 in the February 28 Memorial Peace Park to strongly condemn the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) murder of Gao Rongrong. Association Director Chang Ching-hsi called on the world's people to pay attention to the inhuman murder, and to condemn and hold Luo Gan and other perpetrators responsible for the crime, and help end the persecution of Falun Gong in China.
In front of the monument in the 2/28 Peace Park symbolizing peace, tolerance and understanding, practitioners' exposing the CCP's persecution caught the attention of visitors and local people.

This Persecution is Real
A young lady from the U.S. who once worked in China said, "I believe this is true. The CCP uses extreme measures in the persecution of human rights. I heard of cases of persecuting people for their belief and felt that it was not safe there. I left after one year."
Photos of Ms. Gao's disfigurement were revealed in the international media, drawing peoples' attention and creating shock and indignation. The CCP was eager to destroy the witness. Under the order of China's 610 Office leader Luo Gan, the Liaoning Province Political and Judiciary Committee, 610 Office, Procuratorate, judicatory and police departments cooperated to block the news about Gao Rongrong and to intensify the persecution in secret. For a short period of time, Ms. Gao was rescued by Falun Gong practitioners, but she was arrested again in March 2005. She died in custody, becoming the 2,584th practitioner documented to have been tortured to death.
Concerning the 610 Office, recently former Chinese diplomat Chen Yonglin and former 610 officer Hong Fengjun in Australia confirmed that the agency was specially set up by former Chinese President Jiang Zemin on June 10, 1999 to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. For 6 years, the office has executed orders related to the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Mr. Hao defected to Australia because his conscience would no longer allow him to carry out the persecution.
A Western visitor carefully folded the flyer exposing the persecution of Ms. Gao after reading it and said, "Never go to China."

Why Do They Want to Do This?
Many passers-by were shocked at the photos showing Ms. Gao's disfigurement, "What's wrong? Why was this beautiful lady tortured so brutally?"
A policeman standing under a tree to observe the press conference said, after accepting the truth-clarification literature, "A lady practicing exercises does not bother anyone. Why was she murdered so cruelly?"
A staff member working in the park administration said to the practitioners applying for a permit to hold the press conference, "Looking at you, I know the practice is good. I don't know why the CCP wants to persecute you"

Don't Become an Accomplice to the CCP's Brutal Persecution of Kind People
Director Wu Hulin of the China Human Rights Association said, "Now everyone is paying attention to China's growing economy, but they are becoming an accomplice of the CCP in the persecution of kind people without realizing it. It is estimated that the CCP uses one fourth of China's GDP on the persecution of Falun Gong. Foreign and Taiwanese business investments are manipulated by the CCP to help continue the persecution of Falun Gong."
Retribution Will Come Soon
A little girl facing upward asked her mom, "How come her face (Ms. Gao's) looks so?" Her mom told her gently, "She was shocked by a group of thugs using electric batons." The girl, touching her face, asked, "Why?" Her Mom answered, "The thugs didn't want to let her believe in Falun Gong. So they damaged her face." The little girl asked again, "Do they know that God will punish those who commit such wrongdoing?" Her mom nodded, "The day will come soon."

Kind-hearted People Join in Calling for the Murderers to be Brought to Justice
Director Ming Chu-Cheng from the Taiwan Association for Rescuing Falun Gong Practitioners Being Persecuted said, "Submission to tyranny is due to fear of tyranny. Many people dare not see the photos of Ms. Gao's disfigurement. The exposure of the CCP's brutal persecution, however, is to help people awaken their conscience and to bring the murderers, who are using the state machine to kill kind-hearted people, to justice."
(Clearwisdom.net) On June 18, 2005, Russian practitioners held an activity on Arbat Square in Moscow's city center, calling for an end to the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
Arbat is part of the central business district in Moscow. Many people stopped to view the banners and poster display boards. They approached practitioners to find out more about the human rights abuses of Falun Gong practitioners in China and signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution.

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Gao Rongrong was tortured to death, news of which has shocked the world. On the morning of June 24, 2005, Korean practitioners held a press conference in front of the Chinese Embassy and strongly condemned the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) atrocity. They called for an end to the persecution and for bringing the murderers to justice. Practitioners also called on Chinese diplomats in embassies and consulates to denounce the CCP and to stop being accomplice to the brutal persecution.
Ms. Gao Rongrong, an accountant at the Luxun Fine Arts College in Shenyang City, was abducted from her home by local police on June 22, 2003, and taken to Longshan Forced Labor Camp. On May 7, 2004, she was shocked with electric batons for 6 hours and her face was grossly disfigured.
Ms. Gao was successfully rescued by Falun Gong practitioners in October 2004. Photographs of her disfigured face were publicized widely to expose the brutal persecution. The Public Security Department labeled Ms. Gao's escape as the "Number 26 Case." At this point, 610 Office head Luo Gan personally took charge of the ongoing persecution plan. Instructed by Luo Gan, the Liaoning Province CCP Political Judiciary Committee, the Procuratorate, the Department of Justice and the Police Department collectively concealed information about Ms. Gao Rongrong's case. Those practitioners thought to have been involved in her rescue were rounded up and cruelly tortured. Gao Rongrong was unfortunately rearrested in March 2005, and detained until she died as a result of further persecution. On June 16, 2005, Ms. Gao died in the emergency room of China Medical University Hospital of complications stemming from torture and abuse in custody following nearly two years of incarceration, brainwashing attempts, and torture for her beliefs.
Recently, three former CCP officials who have defected to Australia exposed inside details of the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong. Their revelations have astounded the world and brought the attention of the international community. Ms. Gao's death further exposes the CCP's brutal persecution of Falun Gong.
(Clearwisdom.net) News that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) authorities disfigured Falun Gong practitioner Gao Rongrong using electric batons and later killed her on June 16, 2005 has shocked the world.
On June 24, 2005, Falun Gong practitioners in Gothenburg and other nearby cities gathered in front of the Chinese Consulate to strongly condemn the CCP's brutality and atrocities, and to demand punishment for Gao Rongrong's murderers.

Practitioners held banners reading, "Strongly Condemn the CCP," "Demand the Punishment of the Murderer" and "Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners." Some practitioners made poster boards exposing the details of the abuse of Gao Rongrong and carried them all the way to the consulate. Many passersby stopped to find out more. Upon hearing the facts, they all felt very sorry about the situation and condemned the killing of this innocent young lady as well as the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

(Clearwisdom.net) The murder of Shenyang Falun Gong practitioner Gao Rongrong on June 16, 2005 shocked the world. In the evening of June 22, Sydney practitioners held a candlelight vigil in front of the Chinese Consulate to memorialize Ms. Gao. Practitioners also held a press conference to strongly condemn the CCP's murder of practitioners, and called to severely punish Tang Yubao and Jiang Zhaohua, the prison guards who shocked Ms. Gao's face repeatedly with electric batons, resulting in her severe disfigurement.

John Deller, representative of the New South Wales Falun Dafa Association, talked about the severe torture Ms. Gao was subjected to. On May 7, 2004, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Tang Yubao, the deputy head of the No. 2 Brigade, along with team leader Jiang Zhaohua, summoned Ms. Gao to the duty office and began to torture her by means of electric batons for some 7 hours. Ms. Gao's face was covered with blisters and her hair was matted with pus and blood. So severe were the injuries that she was left disfigured and had difficulty seeing. After the shocking photos of her disfigured face made their way overseas, Ms. Gao's case received great concern and was submitted to related government offices in the U.S. and other nations and presented to the United Nations. On October 5, 2004, Ms. Gao - having recovered sufficiently to be moved - was able to leave the hospital with the help of a small group of friends. As international pressure mounted concerning Gao Rongrong's case, one of China's highest-ranking officials stepped in: Politburo Standing Committee member Luo Gan. Luo proceeded to order the Liaoning Province Chinese Communist Party Political Judiciary Committee, the Procuratorate, the Department of Justice, and the Police Department to conceal any and all information about Ms. Gao's case. On March 6 Ms. Gao was located by police and again arrested. Neither her location nor her condition was revealed to family members until June 12, when they learned that she was being held at Masanjia Hospital. According to Ms. Gao's family, by the time they reached the hospital on June 12, Gao Rongrong had lost consciousness, her organs were atrophying, and she was hooked up to a respirator. They say she was little more than "skin and bones." Ms. Gao was then transferred to China Medical University Hospital, where she died four days later, on June 16.
Despite the fact that the CCP has denied that it had established 610 Office in order to implement the persecution against Falun Gong, Mr. Deller said that Chen Yonglin and another former "610 Office" member who had recently defected to Australia both confirmed the existence of the "610 Office." The two officials also confirmed that the persecution of Falun Gong is very systematic and is very widespread, with suppression and arbitrary killing in China. The CCP has also exported the persecution overseas by creating blacklists, conducting harassment and even paying thugs to carry out violence against practitioners in countries outside of China.
In her speech, practitioner Jane Dai said: "The persecution made me a widow with a baby of just one year old. My husband was persecuted to death four years ago and the killing of practitioners is still ongoing. The death of Ms. Gao has just confirmed this sad fact. I want to take this opportunity to warn all officials who are still participating in the persecution: you should follow what Chen Yonglin and Hao Fengjun have done, to denounce the CCP and step forward to expose the persecution. I also call upon the Australian government and all Australians to face this unprecedented genocide against innocent civilians and help end this persecution against good people."
Australian citizen Rui Jun said with great sorrow: "My heart was broken when I heard about the death of Gao Rongrong. It reminded of my mother. For refusing to give up her belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," my mother was detained at Qingpu Forced Labor Camp in Shanghai and was subjected to brainwashing and physical torture. The authorities even fabricated a letter of my handwriting, claiming that I returned China and was detained in another labor camp in order to force her to denounce Falun Gong. My mother couldn't bear such a pressure and was on the brink of mental collapse. She was soon found to have cancer, but she was not released until she was in critical condition. The Chinese Consulate in Sydney, however, unreasonably refused to issue me a visa. Even though I am the only child, I could not pay a last visit to my mom."
As three former Chinese CCP officials have in succession defected to Australia recently, and then revealed many shocking details of the CCP's overseas persecution of Falun Gong and dissidents, the Australian mainstream media has started to report on how practitioners have been harassed and threatened. The facts enumerated by practitioners have shocked many kind-hearted Australians.
David Liang narrated how he and eight other practitioners were attacked in South Africa when they were on their way to file a lawsuit against Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong: "We were driving on the highway from the airport to the city. A white passenger car followed us from behind and forced our car to pull over, and thugs in the car then shot at us. My ankles were hit by the bullets. They didn't rob us. The South African police has classified this case as an assassination attempt. I believe that only the CCP would do this, as they wanted to stop us from suing one of its leaders. My experience tells me how evil the CCP is and I have tried my best to tell the public about how the CCP is persecuting Falun Gong. For this very reason, someone recently broke into my house in China and repeatedly slammed my father's head against the wall. My father is now still in the hospital. However, I want to tell the CCP: 'You are so stupid. This only confirms the charges against you by the three officials who have defected.' "
Li Ying, a Mainland practitioner rescued to Australia, told the reporter: "This persecution is among the most brutal and vicious in the history of mankind. However, the CCP has been exhausting all possible resources to cover up its crimes. Consequently, many Chinese people don't know the truth, and many kind-hearted people overseas have been misled by the CCP's propaganda. As they don't know the truth, they can't offer help to practitioners, and the persecution manages to survive. However, as the three former Chinese officials have recently defected to Australia, the curtain of persecution has been torn slightly, so that people can now see the evil nature of the CCP. Though I have been in Australia for a rather short time, I have discovered that Australians are very pure and kind. I believe that more and more people will step forward to condemn and help us stop this persecution once they learn the truth."
(Clearwisdom.net) On Monday the 20th of June, a press conference was held with Ms. Xiong Wei to inform the public about her two years of suffering in a Chinese forced labor camp. Xiong Wei was a student in Berlin Technical University before returning to China. She was imprisoned in Beijing for handing out leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. The Slovak press conference was featured on two TV stations (STV and TA3) as well as in other media.
Later in the day, Xiong Wei met with reporters from two Slovak radio stations and told them about the human rights abuses that have been happening to Falun Gong practitioners in China for the last six years. In the evening, Xiong Wei was a guest on a TV program on STV, which lasted about ten minutes and informed the public about what Falun Gong is, the persecution and its impact in Slovakia. Xiong Wei revealed to the Slovak people the brutal crimes committed against her under orders from the Chinese Communist Party.
On the following day, Ms. Xiong met with reporters from two magazines, Nota Bene and Domino Forum, who also featured her story.

According to the Clearwisdom website, the persecution of Falun Gong in Mainland China was recently intensified, so Falun Gong practitioners urged the parliament members gathered in Bern to do all they could to help stop the persecution.
The torture simulations shocked many people. A child pointed at the practitioner playing a Chinese Communist Party policeman and said angrily, "Quickly call the police to take the scoundrel away. How can he torture the woman like that?" People were shocked when they viewed the pictures of the torture and listened to practitioners' statements about the ongoing persecution in China. Some of them shed tears. Many people had already received leaflets and signed their names on the petition.

A SLACKS Creek resident who has received death threats and abusive phone calls has backed claims by a former Chinese consular official that a spy network is operating in Australia.
William Luo and other southside practitioners of Falun Gong, a spiritual movement banned in China, say they have been threatened and harassed by agents of the Chinese Government.
He supports information from the former first secretary of the Chinese Consulate General in Sydney, Chen Yonglin, who claims China has more than 1000 spies in Australia.
Mr Luo and fellow practitioner Louise Stevanovic of Sunnybank said they had been inundated with abusive recorded phone calls from China on "sensitive" days of the year.
"On Chinese New Year my phone rang from 10 in the morning until 11 at night with these abusive messages," Mr Luo said.
He said he also had had death threats three years ago while at a Falun Gong rally in Fortitude Valley.
"A man spoke to me in Mandarin but with a Cantonese accent, telling me I should stop these protests," Mr Luo said.
"He said: 'If I kill you, you will stop, yes?' He pointed to my daughter who was with a lot of other children and said 'If I kill her, you will stop'.
"He knew she was my daughter. He must have been watching us."
Mr Luo said he reported the incident to the Fortitude Valley police who told him to report any further threats immediately.
Ms Stevanovic said she had more than 20 calls to her home number three times this year New Year's Day, Chinese New Year and the Chinese Moon Festival.
"Traces have shown that they were sent from China. But the question is how do they know our phone numbers and our personal details? They must have people here supplying them with the information," Ms Stevanovic said.
Another practitioner Zhang Mei said she went to Hong Kong three years ago and was refused entry before being deported back to Australia. Ms Mei said she was given no immediate reason for the action ...

Const. Stephen Camp realized he was stepping out on a limb when he launched a hate-crimes investigation of staff at the Chinese consulate in Calgary last year.
Nobody had ever tried it before - not in Canada, anyway.
"We're in uncharted waters," said Camp, who works with the Edmonton Police Service's hate crimes section.
"This is a one-of-a-kind investigation, and we have no history of investigations by other police forces to guide us.
"But if we feel someone's distributing hate propaganda in our city, we move forward. It doesn't matter who they are or who they work for.
"Hate literature violates the basic values of this country. If they're promoting hate, they're breaking the law."
LITERATURE INVESTIGATED
Camp recently wrapped up an investigation into literature distributed by Chinese consular staff in Edmonton late last year. The material allegedly slandered Falun Gong, a Chinese spiritual movement under assault by the communist government.
According to local Falun Gong supporters, the material claimed the movement promotes ritual mutilation, suicide and murder.
Camp's office concluded the literature violated Canada's hate-crimes law. His findings are now under review by Alberta Justice, which will decide whether to recommend charges against consular staff.
"This is wonderful news," said Joel Chipkar, spokesman for Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) Canada. "Edmonton is really breaking ground here.
"We've complained in the past to police in Toronto and Ottawa about the activities of Chinese consular staff in harassing our members, but nothing ever came of it."
Calgary MP Rob Anders, a frequent critic of the Chinese government, also praised the EPS for taking the first step.
'ECONOMIC REPERCUSSIONS'
"The difficulty is a lot of people in government and in the law enforcement community know what's going on, but they're too worried about the economic repercussions to do anything about it," he said.
"Prime Minister Paul Martin himself has business interests in China, and he's always been one for quietly negotiating human rights with China behind locked doors. But we shouldn't tolerate this kind of behaviour on Canadian soil."
A spokesman for Alberta Justice said the department is reviewing the file, and could recommend charges if there is "a likelihood of a conviction."
Thu, June 23, 2005
Alberta Justice is looking at possible charges against staff at the Chinese consulate over alleged propaganda material defaming the Falun Gong movement, according to city police.
Const. Stephen Camp of the Edmonton Police Service hate crimes unit confirmed yesterday his office has just wrapped up an investigation into booklets distributed in the city in 2004 by Chinese consular officials.
The booklets allegedly slandered Falun Gong, a Chinese spiritual movement banned by the Beijing government. Camp wouldn't describe the material, but local Falun Gong members say it accused the movement of promoting suicide, self-mutilation and murder.
[...]
"This material was being distributed directly out of the Calgary consulate - they had the brochures on display there.
"It's great news that the EPS has passed this on to the government. Maybe someone in government will finally stand up in defence of Canadian values."
Camp investigated the material under Section 319.2 of the Criminal Code, the law banning the "willful promotion of hatred" against an "identifiable group."
"We felt (the booklets) did constitute a breach of the law," he said. "But the law states that it's the government which has to decide whether a charge is laid in these cases."
Police were only able to investigate the booklets because they were distributed outside the Calgary consulate, which is the extraterritorial turf of the People's Republic of China.
Consular officials don't share the immunity from criminal charges enjoyed by diplomats. They can be charged, but they can't be arrested or detained by the police of a host country.
Even so, said Bussche, a hate-crime charge laid against a Chinese official in Alberta would send a strong message back to Beijing.
"The Chinese government is defaming and persecuting members of Falun Gong across the country. Alberta could be the first province to lead the way, to say enough is enough."

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a Dafa disciple from Denmark. I feel extremely honored to share my experiences with you today. My gratefulness toward Teacher Li is beyond words. I will share my experiences before and after I started to learn Falun Dafa. Because I am a new practitioner, and my understanding of the Fa is not yet deep, please kindly point out any incorrect things in my sharing.
From a high school student knowing nothing about Falun Dafa, through tribulations of life and death, I started cultivation and became a Dafa disciple in the Fa-rectification period. It was Dafa that gave me a new life.
When I was just 16 years old and in the 8th grade, living in China, an unexpected disaster struck my family. On a Friday afternoon, November 23rd, 2001, both of my parents were abducted by the police because they practiced Falun Gong. I was at school at the time. The police came to my school and inquired about me at the office. The sudden trauma dumbfounded me. Acting on the urging of my classmates, I ran away from school in a panic. From that moment, I, who had been living under the loving care of my parents without a single worry in the world, started a long journey of homelessness filled with loneliness, sorrow and fear.
That night I saw that my whole house had been shattered as if struck by an earthquake. I spent the first sleepless night hiding in a gunnysack in our neighbor's storage shed. With the police looking for me, the kindhearted neighbor sent me on the road to find my uncle, who was a farmer thousands of miles away. Surviving many dangers along the way, I finally managed to reach my uncle's place in the countryside of Fujian Province. Half a year later, one day in May 2002, the police showed up at my uncle's house. Suffering under threats of the police, my uncle could no longer keep me; he sent me into hiding in a warehouse in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. I spent 13 months in isolation in the deserted warehouse. During this time I was surrounded by nothing but solitude, grief and horror. In the dark nights I often woke up in tears from nightmares. After waking up, I would curl up in a corner with my head buried, and cry my eyes out. Each day brought such pain and suffering that my mental health was seriously damaged. When I left the warehouse, I could no longer speak normally.
To save my life, at the end of June 2003, my uncle, who lived in poverty himself, took on a daunting debt in order to enable me to be taken to Denmark. Within a few hours of arrival, I was abandoned by those who took me abroad. A kind-hearted person took me to the Red Cross in Denmark, but I was still living in enormous fear and sadness. One night I woke up with a start from nightmares, which alarmed the staff on duty. The next day, the person in charge of the Red Cross shelter had a talk with me. Without knowing why exactly, I asked her whether there were Falun Gong practitioners in Denmark. With her help, I got into touch with Falun Gong practitioners in Denmark. Slowly I started to appreciate why my parents wanted to practice Falun Dafa. I came to know Falun Gong practitioners, and gradually understood Dafa.
I Was Fortunate to Obtain Dafa
The first things I always wanted to know were why my parents practiced Falun Gong, why the police arrested them, and why the police would not allow my uncle to keep me even though I did not practice Falun Gong. I had so many questions for Falun Gong practitioners. But once I saw them, I could not help bursting into tears. My first sentence was, "Could you help me find my parents? I miss them very much." One kind lady told me, "If you want to know why your parents were arrested by the police, you should come to our practice site next weekend. You can learn what Falun Gong is, and what Falun Gong practitioners are thinking and doing. Perhaps you will understand your parents and why they were arrested." The following weekend, I went to the practice site at the New King's Park in Copenhagen. The lady gave me a copy of Zhuan Falun, and urged me, "Read this book. You will find the answers to your questions." From that time on, I got to know more and more Falun Gong practitioners. Their kind attention warmed my heart.
When I first started reading Zhuan Falun, my mind was confused and my spirits were low. I could not comprehend anything. One day shortly after, I suddenly reached a state of tranquility when I was meditating. I saw my mom. She sat on a lotus flower. At the time I did not understand the book, so I did not know what that meant. Fellow practitioners told me that Master was encouraging me by showing me the magnificence of my mother's cultivation in another dimension.
A few months later, I finally managed to settle down and read the book. Psychological damage from the fugitive life had completely turned me into a different person. When I was in school, I had always been a top student with the best grades. But after the tribulations, especially after 13 months of isolation in the warehouse in Shenzhen City, I could not even express myself properly. My logic was confused. When reading the book, I could not finish one sentence without making a mistake. Fellow practitioners spent a great deal of time to help and encourage me. Sentence by sentence, they patiently corrected my reading. Firmly breaking down psychological barriers, I finished Dafa books one after another. Dafa unveiled to me a magnificent world. During that time, I spent every minute on Fa study, doing the Falun Gong exercises, and experience sharing amongst fellow practitioners. Gradually my heart felt lighter and lighter. I started to understand the root of all hardships, life's philosophy, and that the real meaning of life is to return to our own true selves.
Ridding Myself of Attachments and Walking the Path of a Dafa Disciple in the Fa-rectification Period
I greatly treasured my good fortune, accumulated throughout the ages, that led to my obtaining Dafa. I saved up as much as possible from my meager monthly allowance for tickets to Copenhagen for group Fa study and experience sharing. In a pure cultivation environment, I made rapid progress and was actively devoted to Fa-rectification cultivation.
On the World Anti-torture Day in June 2004, practitioners held their first anti-torture exhibition in the center of Copenhagen. I played a Dafa disciple being burned. I was reminded of my parents and of many other Chinese practitioners being brutally persecuted. I had to act it all out. Many onlookers were moved by our performance. I was thinly clad and maintained one pose from the beginning until the end. In the chilly Northern European weather, I did not feel cold at all. My mind was entirely focused on clarifying the facts to people in the world. When the event was over, fellow practitioners kindly asked whether I felt cold. Only then did I register chilliness and immediately I was shivering with cold. The power of this event was tremendous. All the practitioners who participated performed wholeheartedly, enduring physical pains from the anti-torture show. The energy field was extraordinarily strong.
Subsequently, I took part in anti-torture activities in various major cities in Northern Europe, including Finland, Norway and Sweden. Although life on the road was tough, I felt happy and content to participate in Dafa disciples' Fa-rectification activities.
In July 2004, on my way back from an anti-torture exhibition in Norway, I went through tribulations. At night I dreamt that my parents had passed away and that my uncle had signed a piece of paper under the threat of the police. Upon learning this, fellow practitioners in Denmark immediately called my uncle. For the first time, my uncle told me the truth. As a matter of fact, in April 2002, 5 months after they were arrested, my parents had both been persecuted to death. It was for this matter that the police called upon my uncle in May 2002. They would not produce any documents or evidence; they only insisted that my parents "had committed suicide." Meanwhile, they forced my uncle to sign a declaration to terminate all relationships with my family. Unable to protect me any longer, my uncle had to send me into hiding in a warehouse in Shenzhen City. In China there were no other relatives for me to seek protection from, and no other way out. To save me from the hands of the police, my uncle incurred a huge debt to send me abroad.
The news about my parents, that I had been looking forward to for so long, turned out to be death from persecution! The evil took their lives only because they believed in Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. Again it was Master and fellow practitioners' compassion that helped me through such a devastating blow. I appreciated Master's merciful salvation.
In July 2004, my refugee application was rejected. There was only one chance left for an appeal. At that time, I felt despair again like an ordinary person. I had an incorrect idea. When I first came to Denmark, out of fear, I told the police something that should not have been said. Now my parents had passed away. Even my uncle, my only relative left in the world, dared not to keep me. I had nobody to depend on and no hope for anything. I felt it would not matter even if I were sent back. When fellow practitioners took me to see a lawyer, I answered the questions mechanically. I appeared numb and I was not clear headed. It did not occur to me to use my parents' case to clarify the facts. After the visit, fellow practitioners pointed some things out to me. They said, "Our visit was not meant to go through the motions or be attached to whether you would stay in Denmark or not. It was to clarify the facts based on your experience. Currently, you are the only orphan of Falun Gong practitioners who has come abroad. There are still children like you in China. Many are young kids being persecuted. They need desperately for us to rescue them. You need to have a clear understanding of your role in the truth-clarification. You need to be calm, clear-headed, and know what you should do as a Dafa disciple. Wouldn't you want to speak up on behalf of your parents?"
After Fa study that night, fellow practitioners explained to me compassionately, "We feel for you. You lost your parents. We lost our fellow practitioners. That's all the more reason for us to rationally expose the evil persecution to various levels of government and the people. This will ease the pressure of the persecution on Mainland practitioners. It will also give those kids still in China their own homes and stable lives. We have to save people in the world. Through understanding the truth about Falun Dafa, opposing the persecution, and helping Falun Gong practitioners, they will position themselves well."
Through this experience, I realized that I had omissions in my cultivation which made it difficult for fellow practitioners to clarify the facts. I made up my mind to diligently cultivate myself and get rid of attachments. From then on, every day I did the three things required of Dafa disciples. I performed the exercises, studied the Fa, sent righteous thoughts and told people around me about the misfortunes of my family. To supplement my limited knowledge of the local language, I asked fellow practitioners to print materials based on my experience, which we distributed everywhere in large quantities.
Believing in Master, Maintain Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Actions
In October 2004, the Denmark Refugee Tribunal held the final court hearing on my application. Most practitioners in Denmark went to the court to send righteous thoughts. Some practitioners even traveled from other cities. Maintaining peaceful and calm through righteous thoughts, I answered the Tribunal's questions truthfully. Even though fellow practitioners helped me put together truth-clarification materials about my parents' persecution, the decision was still negative, as news about my parents had only come out right before the final trial. The Danish government notified me to leave for China as soon as possible. In this situation, I did not falter. I firmly believed in Master and Dafa. I still did the three things Dafa disciples ought to do as usual: exercised, studied the Fa, sent righteous thoughts and clarified the facts. Through experience sharing, fellow practitioners enlightened to the understanding that we needed to take advantage of this opportunity to further clarify the facts to the Danish government and the media.
Subsequently, Dafa practitioners all over the world were mobilized. Truth-clarifying letters from various countries flooded the Danish government. Practitioners produced truth clarifying media reports based on my experience. In Denmark and other European countries, practitioners took to the streets to collect signatures and call for help from Congress, the media, non-governmental organizations, and the United Nations. Some very influential non-governmental organizations in Denmark wrote to the government to call attention to my case. The Chairman of the Legislative Committee in Congress gave several media interviews about my case. He was of the opinion that the government underestimated the persecution of Chinese Falun Gong practitioners. He clearly showed his support for my case. A local TV station also aired a special report about me. Many kindhearted people showed their sympathy towards Dafa, as well as their indignation against the Chinese Communist Party's brutal persecution. In doing so, they positioned themselves well for their own future.
As a result of strong support from practitioners worldwide, the Danish government revised their decision to immediately deport me to China. After solid truth clarification, the Danish government obviously appreciated the seriousness of the persecution against Falun Gong a lot better. Consequently, two other practitioners' refugee applications were accepted relatively smoothly.
In the environment of Fa study and sharing with fellow practitioners, I improved rapidly in Fa-rectification cultivation.
Later I was transferred to several different places far away from Copenhagen. I could not get together with most practitioners as often as I used to. Even though the cultivation environment was relatively lonely, I realized that being in different places where there were not many Dafa disciples, was an opportunity to bring Dafa to the people in those places. I could use my experience to clarify the facts to more people and save them. One has to create one's own cultivation environment. I quickly adjusted myself and set up group Fa study and practice sites along with several local practitioners. Each day I exercised, studied the Fa, sent righteous thoughts and clarified the facts. I kept my living standards to the lowest possible to save up for various Fa-rectification activities, and to send truth-clarification materials and the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party (published by The Epoch Times newsgroup), to China.
One weekend, a fellow practitioner and I demonstrated the exercises in a crowded place, which attracted a passing reporter. Despite language problems, I showed him my materials and clarified the facts in the few Danish words that I knew. The next day, a big photo of our practice was posted in the local newspaper.
After reviewing large quantities of truth-clarification materials, the Denmark Refugee Tribunal reopened my case for trial. At the end of April 2005, my refugee application was granted.
Treasuring My Precious Good Fortune to Obtain Dafa, Cultivating Diligently
As a kid knowing nothing about Dafa, I was very nearly destroyed by the persecution. Thanks to Master's merciful salvation, from the verge of collapse, I became a healthy cultivator both mentally and physically. Master truly saved my life. Words cannot express my gratitude towards Teacher. Dafa disciples worldwide gave me so much loving care. Dear Master, thank you! Dafa disciples worldwide, thank you!
My parents must feel very comforted in other dimensions. The path I am taking now is the path they hoped for me the most. It is the brightest of all, with the most beautiful future. I am determined to do well the three things that Dafa disciples should do and use my life's story to clarify the facts and save people in the world.
(Clearwisdom.net) Dear Master, hello fellow practitioners,
My name is Maria; I'm from Spain and have been a practitioner for four years. There have been many things worth looking back on over the past four years. Here, I'd like to share some experiences which have impressed and influenced me the deepest.
When I learned about Dafa, my situation was pretty complicated at that time, for various reasons. At first, my work was quite demanding, such that my body fell into a worse and worse state. I made up my mind to change my life from such a chaotic situation. I quit my job first and tried to look for another position. Besides that, I tried my best to recover my health. As a result of a chronic but benign tumor of the uterus and some complications such as high cholesterol, anemia, digestive ailment, and depression, my situation worsened gradually. The doctor said I needed to undergo an operation. However, coincidentally, at that time the doctors in the hospital were staging a long-term strike, so my operation was delayed for several months. The doctors decided to give me medication at first in a bid to control my ailment, and set up a series of treatments.
Around this time, a practitioner introduced me to Falun Gong. The cultivation system that the practitioner talked of aroused a huge interest in me. I wanted to try to cultivate immediately. I began to learn the five sets of Falun Gong exercises at his home. From that moment, I could not have imagined the immense transformation in my life.
The prompt change stunned me, and my health began to show improvement in a very short period of time. The heavy feeling in my body disappeared, my usual headache was healed, and food didn't harm me any longer. I truly experienced a sense of relief all over my body. Furthermore, I liked to practice the exercises very much, which made me feel relaxed and comfortable from the bottom of my heart. So, I placed the 6 or 7 kinds of medicines that I had brought home from the hospital into the recycle bin for medicine to be donated to the Third World. Falun Gong started to transform me. This was a very important point in my life, because from that time onward, I opened up to a deeper understanding of Dafa and a more diligent cultivation of Dafa.
After several months, I went to the hospital again. The doctor was very happy when he saw I that looked so great, and immediately said, "Look, my treatments worked for you." Following a series of examinations, the various readings of my body were all in the normal range; therefore, the doctor cancelled the previous operation plan. However, despite my recovery, the doctor still insisted on medication. Although I clearly knew my health was much better than the doctor could have imagined, I was still very pleased to have heard such a positive response from the doctor, and this helped me become more confident in the power of Dafa. The doctor arranged another appointment for a check-up again; however, I didn't go, because I knew I didn't need it any longer.
I kept practicing the exercises. When my body obviously changed for the better, I also noticed a transformation in my mind. Fa-study and practicing the exercises have gradually altered my attitudes and behavior, and my interaction with people. My discomfort and touchy mood began to settle down. My mentality of looking for new things disappeared. A generally dissatisfied mood about many things went away as well. I could feel all the people and everything around me becoming more calm and peaceful.
One day, on a Saturday morning, when I was cleaning my house, I instantly felt that I was surrounded by an immense peaceful presence, which not only covered my body but everything around me, like my clothes, the things in my hands, and even the air. In an instant, everything around me became so beautiful and peaceful. This was a brand new feeling, and I never experienced such a feeling before. It was so magical, so amazing. I realized that only after cultivating Dafa could I experience the compassion and mercy of Dafa.
After experiencing the "incomparably immense peacefulness," I deeply comprehended the precious teachings given by Master and the mercy Master gave to us. Although I didn't understand some teachings at that time, I firmly believed I would understand them in the long run if I kept cultivating. Thus, I didn't need to have doubts any more. Facing the immense Dafa, what I need to do is to diligently keep cultivating, and spread the immeasurable wonderfulness to more people. Experiencing such a beautiful moment, I made up my mind to keep cultivating. From this moment on, I truly stepped onto the path of returning to my origin, the true self.
This is also a milestone on my path of cultivation. At first, I only studied the Fa once a week, but then, after that experience, I began to study one lecture of Zhuan Falun every day with fellow practitioners. Meanwhile, I started to do some work for some Dafa websites. Working for the Dafa websites and having regular Fa-study opened up a new vision for my cultivation.
Through the work for the websites, I got to read a great amount of articles written by fellow practitioners every day. I could see the change in myself very quickly. I began to sense that other practitioners also encountered similar hardships as I did. Their experiences and understandings have helped me a lot, especially in my everyday work and even in all environments. I learned how to be patient, to listen to others' opinions and how to keep the mentality of a cultivator at all times while facing conflicts. Every article I translate and proofread has been a chance for me to elevate and look inside myself.
At the same time, I had a more profound understanding from those articles which exposed the persecution. I started to realize the importance and necessity of letting people around me know about the brutal persecution that is happening in China. Therefore, I told my family, colleagues, friends, neighbors, and even passersby about the facts of the persecution.
I remembered that when I mentioned Dafa to people before, I always spoke of the physical and psychological benefits that Dafa brought to people. Now I could add the facts about the persecution, so as to talk comprehensively about the truth of Dafa, because we cannot leave out the topic of persecution occurring in China when we mention Dafa. At the same time, as a Dafa practitioner, I felt more and more that I couldn't limit myself to the current work on websites and distributing leaflets. I needed to go out to tell the truth about Dafa in those cities that have no Dafa disciples. Among those inhabitants, there are many people who have predestined relationships, and they need to be saved as well.
In my view, it was another milestone in my cultivation for me to take part in the work on Dafa websites. During the year, I assisted in and participated in a series of Dafa activities. These activities were different and new to me. However, what these activities have in common is that they bring the truth and beauty of Dafa to more people and allow them to be saved.
For example, in March of this year, I had the honor to participate in a Fa-spreading activity held in Maspalomas on the southern part of the island during International Women's Day. When I heard of this activity for the first time, I actively took part because I knew this would be a good chance for a lot of people to learn about Dafa. I felt that I shouldered a great responsibility. On the other hand, this would be the first time for me to speak in front of so many people. I have never liked to public speaking, and I knew it would be very difficult for me. At this moment, Master's teaching appeared in my mind, "When it's impossible to do, you can do it." (Zhuan Falun) Therefore, I said firmly in the depth of my heart. "Yes, because this is what I should do." Only the strength of Dafa could help me make this decision, and only the strength of Dafa can help me leave all fears and worries behind.
This activity was very successful, and it subsequently brought about a series of activities. In Telde Germany, 20 kilometers from Maspalomas, members of a local women's organization formed a new practice site on their own initiative. In the meantime, they took up the work of distributing Dafa materials to people. They also contacted two local radio stations and a TV station to conduct interviews with practitioners, and filmed practitioners practicing the exercises in the park. The program was broadcast many times within one week, attracting a lot of local people to come to the practice site.
In this way, a group of new practitioners showed up in front of us. They were not only interested in practicing the exercises, but also began to study the Fa and to require themselves to act in accordance with the Fa. Looking at them, I felt again the heavy responsibility of being a Dafa practitioner and I understood that it was a very special opportunity for me to cultivate myself. On the one hand, I set a standard for myself to do well what I should do at any time, while on the other hand, I repeatedly reminded the new practitioners to assimilate to the principles of the Fa - "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" - and to treat everything with a kind heart. Thus, these principles of the Fa also grew stronger and stronger in my mind.
Next I would like to share with you one of my experiences of discovering my attachments and cultivating myself through Dafa activities.
During Fa study and exchanging experiences with all Dafa practitioners in Spain over the Internet, a fellow practitioner mentioned the idea of a new project: introducing Dafa and Dafa books to bookshops in order for Dafa books to be sold in every large bookshop. I remember the fellow practitioner said: "There are a lot of people who have predestined relationships but live in places where we might not get to. If Dafa books are sold in bookshops there, Master's Law Body will guide them to the bookshop to buy the book and then learn about Dafa." When I heard this, I immediately felt the project's importance, though I did not know at that time what to do. I clearly knew that it was what I should do and it was also part of my cultivation. With the help of that fellow practitioner, I visited many bookshops in my city, the result being very good. At present, the Spanish edition of Zhuan Falun is sold in four bookshops in my city, and the retailers are also ordering Zhuan Falun in a larger quantity.
Seeing this result, I felt very satisfied. I remember one day on my way home from the bookstore, when I analyzed my "satisfaction" conscientiously, I found a heart of "happiness." I asked myself several questions, such as "Where does this happiness come from?" "Am I really happy because more lives are being saved?" "If the result were not good, would you have the same feeling?" I began conscientiously and honestly to look inwards through these questions. Suddenly, I recalled the above-mentioned experience of "incomparable immense peacefulness." Comparatively, though both the two experiences are pleasant, there is a great difference between them.
That "incomparable immense peacefulness" was silent and derived from "nothingness," while the happiness in the latter case came from "desire," desiring for results. The former came from deep in my heart, while the latter came from outside directly. The former is beautiful and far-reaching, while the latter is superficial and illusory. The difference between them is as far apart as heaven and earth. Master says in Zhuan Falun:
"Let me tell you a story from Buddhism. There once was a person who became an Arhat after much effort in cultivation. As he was just about to attain Right Fruit in cultivation and become an Arhat, how could he not be happy? He was going to transcend the Three Realms! Yet this excitement is an attachment, an attachment of elation. An Arhat should be free of attachments, with a heart that cannot be affected. But he failed, and his cultivation ended up in vain. Since he failed, he had to start all over again. He resumed his cultivation, and after much painstaking effort he again succeeded in his cultivation. This time he became scared and reminded himself in his mind: "I shouldn't get excited. Otherwise, I'll fail again." With this fear, he failed again. Fear is also a kind of attachment."
My own understanding is that being Dafa practitioners we should be able to "be in a state of non-action, with a mind that's unshakable." In fact, everything has been arranged by Master, and we just carry out the work normally in everyday society in accordance with Master's arrangement, while cultivating ourselves at the same time. [We must have] Righteous thoughts and action. We must require ourselves to act in accordance with the Fa. Don't be afraid because it is difficult or because we do not know how to do it. Don't arouse happiness because of good achievements. Only by so doing can we become as,
"With no attachment to anything, The path underfoot is naturally clear."
("No Obstacles," Hong Yin II; provisional translation)
Little by little, I discovered in my heart the attachments of happiness, fear, and showing off. In general, "selfishness" still appeared from time to time in my actions. Yet, I could not sense it most of the time because it hid in an extremely obscure way. Had I not experienced that "enormous peacefulness" it would be very difficult to find my selfishness and I would not stop to look for my attachments. Meanwhile, in every Dafa activity and at every opportunity, we should always take the initiative to do the work because by being active we can have more opportunities to unravel the attachments hidden deeply in ourselves. If we give up these opportunities, we might not discover these attachments.
I wish to take this opportunity to express my deep gratitude to our merciful Master, to his saving me with mercy, to Master's teachings about the universe's law of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and to Master's meticulous care of us on the road of cultivation!
Many thanks to my fellow practitioners too. Let us vigorously forge ahead, shoulder to shoulder.
The above is my personal understanding. Please kindly correct me if there is anything inappropriate.
(Clearwisdom.net) I remember that an overseas practitioner once asked this question back in 2001: "What is the best way to help clarify the truth to the general public in China?" We replied, "The best way is by calling them and clarifying the truth to them directly, because all the other ways have been controlled and blocked by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)."
Since then, overseas Falun Gong practitioners have been making phone calls to prisons, forced labor camps, brainwashing centers, and the general public who have all been continuously poisoned by the deceitful anti-Falun Gong propaganda. The phone calls have played a very important role in the saving of sentient beings. Especially after the publication of the Nine Commentaries on the Chinese Communist Party, the general public in China has received many more phone calls from overseas practitioners regarding the Nine Commentaries.
The effect of the phone calls is huge. The story of how one of my relatives changed his mind about the CCP is proof of their positive effect. I had talked with my relative many times about the wickedness of the CCP and how important it was for him to withdraw his party membership, but he never changed his mind. Because he is an elder member of my family, he was very tough on me. I couldn't persuade him at all. But one day his attitude suddenly changed. The reason was that his wife had received a telephone call from an overseas practitioner about withdrawing from the CCP. The caller asked if there were any CCP members in the family and if so, that they should withdraw from the CCP as soon as possible. His wife didn't say a word and she disconnected the phone. However, those few sentences from the overseas practitioner had a great effect.
When my relative heard about this phone call, he came to change his thinking. He asked me, "How could your Falun Gong practitioners be so consistent? I received a phone call telling me to withdraw from the CCP. I read a flyer in the hallway of my apartment building saying, 'Important Notice.' It was also about withdrawing from the CCP." So I then told him about the current situation of the large numbers of CCP withdrawals and how over two million members had already withdrawn. I also told him that since he was the former secretary of the Communist Party in his workplace, he should withdraw. His attitude changed tremendously and he told me quietly that he hadn't paid the membership fee for over ten years and that he had not been a member for quite a long time. I then continued, "If you are not a member any more, why don't you announce it. Won't that make you even cleaner?" He responded, "Then help me announce it officially. I withdraw!"
Thank you, overseas practitioners. Every phone call you make is a great effort towards saving sentient beings, even if you only have the opportunity to say a few sentences.
After this occurrence, I've also realized a principle: when we clarify the truth in many different ways, all of our efforts accumulate together to save sentient beings. Even if a person is poisoned very deeply by the CCP, as he or she hears more and more of the truth, that person will naturally understand how immense the current of CCP withdrawals actually is. They will come to understand that withdrawing from the CCP is not some isolated event, but rather it is a great tide running through the whole of society. Once a person truly comes to understand the evil nature of the CCP, they will withdraw immediately.
(Clearwisdom.net) In early April, in a small town in Northeastern China, withdrawal statements from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the Youth League, and the Young Pioneers League as well as public statements calling for people to resign from the CCP began to appear on several streets and alleys. These have been posted along with information about the evil Party's persecution against people during various political movements. Currently, these notices can be seen almost everywhere. Some were printed on size A4 paper (8.5 inches by 11 inches); some were written on bright red paper; some were written in chalk on cement walls; some were signed by one single person; some were signed by many people; and some have empty spaces left for others to fill in.
As of mid-May, over ten thousand people in the small town have published their withdrawal statements on the Internet. These people come from different walks of life. They are government officials and workers, industrial workers, farmers, businessmen, teachers, students, and technology workers. Some are veteran cadres in their 80's to 90's. Some statements come from eight to nine-year-old children; some come from veteran members of the CCP for over sixty years; some come from pre-CCP members; some people's whole family signed their names and resigned from the CCP together; and middle school and high school students have signed their names and resigned from the CCP together.
The spreading of the Nine Commentaries on the CCP has awakened many Chinese people. The tidal wave of withdrawals from the CCP has swept through the whole town, from top to bottom, including the town and the countryside. The Nine Commentaries has exposed the CCP's criminal history for the world's people to see. It has completely stripped off the disguise that the CCP has carefully and meticulously crafted and worn for almost one hundred years, and exposed clearly, in broad daylight, the CCP's evil nature.
The world's people have been shocked and stunned by the truth. The Nine Commentaries has enabled people to clearly see the CCP's true nature and how it resorts to making all sorts of good-sounding statements while stopping at no evil to commit bad deeds.

"Your body lies in prison - don't be sorrowful, don't be sad
With righteous thoughts and righteous actions, Fa is here
Calmly reflect on how many attachments you have
As you get rid of human mentality, evil naturally disappears."
(Provisional translation subject to further improvement, Hong Yin II )
After this poem was published, when I first read it, I thought it was written just for the practitioners who are illegally detained. One day I suddenly realized that I had not grasped Dafa solidly enough, and I now have new thoughts about it.
From the perspective of Fa-rectification, the elements, notions and old forces of the universe want to control Fa-rectification. The old forces arranged the so-called "tribulation" to set up a big "prison" for the whole body of Dafa disciples. From my understanding, Master is telling disciples in this poem how to leave "prison" and assist Master in Fa-rectification.
From the perspective of this human world, the old forces, old elements and the evil have set up a "prison" for all Dafa disciples: lies which slander Dafa were spread all over the world. Some countries, hoping for benefits from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) or confused by illusions created by the CCP, show indifference, and even assist the Chinese Communist Regime's persecution of Falun Gong. Dafa disciples should do well in all of the three things. We should follow the guidance of Master to spread Dafa and offer salvation to sentient beings in the way described by Master in this poem.
Under the CCP dictatorship, China is the center of evil in this world. The evil set up a big "prison" for practitioners in China. The rogue political regime and its head use the army, the police, the courts, the media, and foreign diplomacy to persecute Falun Dafa. They use devious and brutal methods to persecute Falun Dafa disciples, and use lies to deceive the Chinese people, forcing all Chinese citizens to participate in this persecution. Governmental power has been used to commit crimes against Dafa. Master is telling Dafa disciples in this poem how to get out of this "prison" and how to assist Master in Fa-rectification and offer salvation to sentient beings.
The prisons, labor camps and brainwashing classes in China are "prison" for the practitioners in them. Corrupt officials use devious and brutal methods learned from their past actions to persecute Dafa disciples irrationally. Many Dafa disciples are injured or disabled by torture; some are even tortured to death. Master told disciples in this poem how to be free of this "prison."
For every practitioner, our human concepts, notions and attachments form a "prison." Master tells us in this poem how to walk solidly on the path of validating the Fa and offering salvation to sentient beings, in order to succeed in our mission.
The poem has very profound inner meaning that I cannot fully express. Although I have not expressed myself well, I just wanted to share my understanding with fellow practitioners. Please kindly point out anything improper in my understanding.
(Clearwisdom.net) It has been heard that there is a new electronic device on the market called "Interception King." This device, which was developed for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, can turn on a cell phone and intercept its signals. To avoid being intercepted, cell phone users should keep their phone number private. Users can also change their phone number frequently and take the batteries out of the cell phone. The following is some general information about this device.
Users of this device can monitor up to four GSM or CDMA cell phone numbers at the same time, turning on the target cell phones without alerting the phones' owners. Thus, the conversations of the owners can be recorded clearly in the hard drive of this gadget. It can record more than 20 hours of conversation. The device user can also listen to the conversations with a built-in speaker and earphones.
The device has been tested in China. It works wherever there is a cell phone signal and can be used to monitor signals across provinces or in the same city.
This system is easy to use, easy to carry and allows access to real-time conversation of the targets. When the user enters the phone number of the target cell phone, he can intercept the phone's signals without wires. It is a state-of-the-art product in telecommunication surveillance that can automatically search for control signals and voice signals transmitted between cell phones and their base stations.
Users can enter target phone numbers with different priorities. The system's database can hold up to 500 phone numbers. It saves the intercepted signals on its hard drive, eliminating the need for external recording devices.
(Clearwisdom.net) Mrs. Li Ling, 51 years old, was a former Chief of the Labor Bureau from Guta District, Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. She practiced Falun Dafa and followed the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." Mrs. Li recovered from all sorts of ailments and was acknowledged by all as a good person. After the Chinese party started to persecute Falun Gong, she peacefully appealed on behalf of Falun Dafa but was unjustly sentenced to one and a half years at Shenyang Dabei Prison, Liaoning Province. The prison guards forcibly administered medications to Mrs. Li, which destroyed her central nerve system. Li Ling lost a significant amount of weight during the persecution, and went from 65 to 45 kilograms [143 pounds to 99 pounds]. She was released on April 26, 2001. On May 28, 2002, Mrs. Li was arrested again at her home by the Political Legal Committee in the Guta District and was again unjustly sentenced to four years in the Shenyang Dabei in Liaoning Province. Li Ling was persecuted to death on November 17, 2004.

Mrs. Li Ling
Shortly before she was persecuted to death, from September 18th to the 30th, 2004, the United Nation's "Team for Investigating the Issue of Arbitrary Detention " came to China for an on-site inspection. They asked the Chinese government to provide the legal situation and health condition of several people who were in detention at the time; Li Ling's name was also on the list.
The United Nation Investigation Team raised several questions regarding the Chinese government's handling of Li Ling's case. At the time, Li Ling was suffering brutal torture and persecution, and the Chinese government not only lied about Li Ling's condition, but also refused to arrange an interview between Lin Ling and the United Nation Investigation Team. In order to cover up the brutal abuse, on September 22, 2004, the local government let her son visit her in prison. By the time her husband visited her on October 26, Li Ling was extremely weak, and her long black hair and had all turned white.
After the United Nation Investigation Team left, the government resumed their persecution. On November 17, 2004, on behalf of the Women's Prison, the Political Legal Committee notified Li Ling's family of her death and asked them to take care of the affairs after her death. The family made it clear to the police that they knew that Li Ling had never committed any crime and that she had been persecuted to death. The authorities did not reply or pay any attention to their appeal.
The United Nations Investigation Team paid close attention to Li Ling's case
After five months of investigation, the United Nations "Team for Investigating the Issue of Arbitrary Detention" published its verdict regarding Dafa practitioners Li Ling and Pei Jilin who were unjustly arrested and persecuted. They also brought up the report to the 60th Session of the Commission on Human Rights in March 2004.
The United Nation's conclusion regarding Li Ling's case:
"Falun Gong is a type of free exercise and meditation that should be protected by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It is a violation of Universal Declaration of Human Rights articles 10, 11, 18 and 19 to deprive Li Ling and Pei Jilin's freedom. These cases belong to the No. II type of cases. The Investigation Team asked the Chinese government to change their verdict regarding Li Ling and Pei Jilin's cases and obey the basic principles and rules of the International Human Rights Joint Pledge."
"The Investigation Team also noticed that the Chinese government did not deny that Li Ling and Pei Jilin's detention had something to do with Falun Gong. From those on-going cases, they did not find any cases indicating that Falun Gong would cause violence."
"It is a violation of International Law to impose restrictions of this type on peaceful meditation and exercise. From these cases, the government's allegations about Li Ling attending illegal protests and Pei Jilin disturbing social order did not mention violence. The conclusion from the Investigation Team was: They were arrested because they used peaceful means to exercise their rights which are protected by Universal Declaration of Human Rights regarding freedom of religion and speech to protect Falun Gong."
"In order to disprove the allegations brought on by the Investigation Team and to avoid criticism from international public opinion, the Chinese government started a new round of slander towards Falun Gong. The government claimed that Li Ling had a fair trial, but actually it was just a show. The lawyer that the government appointed not only did nothing to defend her, but also threatened her. After the first detention, she wrote an appeal clearly indicating that the reason of her arrest and detention was because she appealed for Falun Gong. The second verdict was secretly carried out between May and November of 2002. Nobody notified her family."
The Chinese government lied about Li Ling's case
The Chinese government replied to the United Nation regarding this case with false information: "Li Ling was arrested on October 27, 1999 because of an illegal protest with a number of people and was sentenced for one and a half years. After her release, she was arrested again because of disturbing social order and sentenced to four years. Both trials were public, her rights to a fair trial were guaranteed and the government offered her a defense lawyer." In the meantime, the prison sealed off all information about Li Ling.
The truth is that the Chinese government never stopped persecuting Li Ling; she suffered all sorts of torture and brutality. All the procedures during the trial violated her basic human rights.
On May 28, 2002 at around 8 p.m., Li Ling was arrested from her home and taken to the No.1 Detention Center. She was forcibly held there for over six months. Nobody from the local Public Security, the Procurator Bureau or the Court notified Li Ling or her family of the reason for her arrest, where she was held or what kind of crime she had committed. She stood for trial twice secretly without her family present (under Chinese Law, families should be notified). The court unjustly sentenced her to four years in the Women's Prison in Liaoning Province.
While in prison, the prison guards encouraged other inmates to mentally torture Mrs. Li in order to force her to give up her belief. She was forced into hard labor for long hours daily, worsening her hypertension and heart disease. Mrs. Li was sent to the prison hospital in January 2004. On February 16 when her family visited her, she could no longer eat normally. One guard and four inmates harassed her and force-fed her daily. On February 25, when her husband visited her in hospital, Li Ling was dying, in a state of delirium, worn to a shadow and her black hair had all turned white. Her family requested her release so as to seek outside medical attention. The prison authority refused and stated that she was not sick. When the family asked "If she is not sick why is she in the prison hospital?" the authorities refused to answer. They also refused to give the medical certificate to her family.
The Chinese government did not follow the United Nation's verdict. Instead, they intensified the persecution of Li Ling and stopped a family's visiting rights.
(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Cao Jinxian remained firm in her cultivation of Falun Dafa. Because of this, she was persecuted by the Shanghai City police. They sentenced her to a forced labor camp without any legal process, where she was tortured. After being granted medical parole, Ms. Cao was forced to become homeless in early 2005 to avoid being persecuted further. Cao Jinxian died on June 18, 2005.
Ms. Cao Jinxian was 48 years old. She was a farmer on the Wang Team at Cailu Village, Cailu Town, Pudong District, Shanghai City. After she began practicing Falun Gong in 1997, she recovered from breast cancer and regained her health. Since the persecution began on July 20, 1999, the Shanghai City 610 Office and its associated offices persecuted Cao Jinxian many times. The tortures severely affected her mental and physical health.
Some days after New Year's Day 2000, over twenty practitioners studied the Fa and shared their experiences in Ms. Cao's home. The village official reported the gathering to the authorities at the Pudong District Police Precinct. They arrested and detained Ms. Cao for 30 days, without any legal process, charging her with "providing a place (for practitioners)."
In 2002, Ms. Cao and four other practitioners went to the Township government to clarify the truth to the officials on duty. The police detained her for two months, and two of the four practitioners were sentenced to two years of forced labor.
In 2003, Ms. Cao brought together five new practitioners to learn and practice Falun Gong. A practitioner's family member reported this to the police, who sentenced Ms. Cao to two years of forced labor. Because of the torture at the forced labor camp, Ms. Cao suffered a relapse of her former illness (breast cancer). The doctors at the forced labor camp, who diagnosed her, predicted that she would only live for another few months. After her release, Ms. Cao persisted in studying the Fa and practicing the exercises, despite being closely monitored by the police. She gradually regained her health.
On January 11, 2005, Ms. Cao went to a shop to photocopy some truth-clarification materials. The owner of the shop reported her to the police. Over ten police officers from Cailu Town Police Station ransacked her home without any legal process and warrant. They confiscated two audio cassette players and some truth-clarifying materials. Ms. Cao was forced to become homeless and move from place to place during the cold winter season. Later, the police arrested her and brought her back home, where they monitored her closely. Ms. Cao Jinxian's health deteriorated from that time onwards. She passed away on June 18, 2005.

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Houge was a villager from Xiabao Village, Luqiao Town, in Huanghua City, Hebei Province. Because of his steadfast belief in Dafa, Mr. Wang was sent to the Shijiazhuang Labor Camp where he suffered from all kinds of cruel tortures. Once, he was tortured with the method called "tying the ropes" three times in the same day. In May 2002, the police released Mr. Wang to his family. He was by this time extremely skinny and frail. Despite the huge pressure of the persecution and of caring for her husband, Mr. Wang's wife had to work extra hard to sustain a livelihood for her husband and family. The police in Huanghua City and Luqiao Town did not stop their constant harassment and intimidation of Mr. Wang and his family. After long-term persecution, Wang Houge died in May 2005. He was 42 years old.
In 1998 Wang Houge began to practice Falun Gong. He experienced tremendous benefits to his physical and mental health, and his family life became harmonious and filled with happiness. After the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, Mr. Wang went to Beijing to explain to the government the truth about Falun Gong, but he was arrested by the Beijing police. The head of the 610 Office from his hometown picked him up in Beijing and sent him back home for persecution.
In October 2000, along with several other practitioners, Wang Houge and his wife Yang Fangzhen, went to Beijing to clarify the truth. Undercover police officers arrested them near Tiananmen Square and later sent them back to a local detention center. During his detention, the police attempted to force Wang Houge to give up Falun Gong. The police also encouraged criminal inmates to beat him. Mr. Wang suffered tremendous torture and humiliation.
After more than 50 days of detention, Wang Houge was sentenced to three years of forced labor and sent to the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp. In order to force Mr. Wang to give up Falun Gong, the police in the camp used many torture methods on him. For example, they used "tying the ropes," where multiple people are employed to tie up the victim, then they tighten the ropes by winding them around the body to increase the pain. The tightened ropes may even cut into the flesh, cause breathing difficulty, nausea, and/or vomiting. The pain is almost unbearable. After a long time under such agony, the arms become numb. Wang Houge was tied up three times in one day. He was also ordered to sit on a small ceramic tile patch without making any movement. If he moved, the police would kick and beat him. Mr. Wang also suffered from extended sleep deprivation for many days, making him feel faint and extremely drowsy.
The officials in the Shijiazhuang Labor Camp used many other torture methods. Once, a drunken police officer called Mr. Wang out of his cell at midnight. The officer started to beat him on the head with a leather shoe until Mr. Wang was cut and bleeding. He did not stop beating Mr. Wang even after he was injured and bleeding. This horrific brutality is just the tip of the iceberg of what Mr. Wang had to endure.
Also in 2000, Wang Houge's wife, Yang Fangzhen, and several other practitioners were illegally detained for 15 days by police from Wang Houge's hometown. After being forced to pay 5,000 yuan each, they were released, but after they returned home they were deceived and taken into custody again. The local 610 Office officials enticed them into a brainwashing class and detained them for over 40 days there. Each of the practitioners had to pay another 3,000-yuan fine before being released.
In March 2001, Tianjin City police followed Yang Fangzhen when she was clarifying the facts about Falun Gong to people. She escaped arrest but was forced to go into hiding. The family was thus broken apart by the evil persecution. Their school-aged child was left at home alone with only the grandpa.
In May 2002, after more than a year in a labor camp Wang Houge was secretly sent home. Long-term torture had reduced Mr. Wang to a very weak condition. Two weeks before, his health had suddenly declined and he lost his ability to perform normal functions. He needed help eating and going to the toilet. The abusive conditions brought on numerous health conditions. The labor camp doctor diagnosed Mr. Wang with hypertension and heart disease. They had to use oxygen to keep him breathing on his way home. Even at that, the police team chief who was escorting him was constantly calling his name to make sure he was still alive. Even the labor camp director was calling the police car frequently to check, fearing that they might be held responsible and have their crimes exposed if Mr. Wang died on the way home. After they returned Wang Houge to his family, the police quickly left.
His family members immediately sent Wang Houge to the hospital. He was diagnosed with tuberculosis. He had lost three quarters of his lungs and also had other diseases. The doctors said that he only had a few months to live.
Hearing that her husband was home, Yang Fangzhen went home, risking arrest again.
With both of them home, the 610 Office from Huanghua City and Luqiao Town never stopped their harassment and intimidation of the family. They sent spies to monitor them. Dealing with this ongoing terror, Wang Houge was not able to have an environment for recovery. After the illegal fines and extortion by the police, the family was deeply in debt. Yang Fangzhen had to find work to support the whole family.
In September 2003, Yang Fangzhen was again abducted by the town 610 Office and taken to a brainwashing class in Cangzhou City. This was a heavy blow to her husband. Wang Houge's health and mental condition continued to decline.
Under the violent mistreatment and the constant harassment, Mr. Wang's health deteriorated, until he finally died in despair, in May 2005. He was 42 years old.
(Clearwisdom.net) Practitioners Mr. Liang Tielong and Mrs. Tan Yajiao, a husband and wife, are from Benxi City in Liaoning Province. They were both arrested and tortured last year. Mrs. Tan Yajiao suffered a miscarriage due to the torture. The couple both received illegal and extended prison sentences. On April 20, 2005, Liang Tielong's father received a phone call from Dabei Prison. The police requested him to visit his son in the prison. However, the father was not allowed to meet his son when he arrived there. Instead, the police extorted 10 yuan from him for telephone fees. Liang Tielong's mother was so angry and sad that she had a stroke. She remains in serious condition today.q1q

The couple: Liang Tielong and Tan Yajiao
On September 18, 2004, the 610 Office of Benxi City, with the involvement of the city police, arrested more than 50 practitioners. Among them were Liang Tielong and Tan Yajiao, who were arrested from home by the police from Dongming Police Station. Their computer, printer, and some cash were also stolen by the police.
Mrs. Tan Yajiao, who was pregnant, was tortured on the same night that she was arrested. Four or five young and strong police officers battered and shocked her with electronic batons until she lost consciousness and fell to the floor. Later, Mrs. Tan was sent to Bailou Detention Center in Benxi City, where she suffered further torture. She went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Policewoman Zhang Jinjuan bound Tan Yajiao with handcuffs and shackles so she could not move any part of her body and ordered several prisoners to hit her. Days of continuous inhumane torture caused Tan Yajiao to miscarry. She also suffered damage to her mental and physical health. She suffered from menstrual disorders, aches around her lower back and stomach, and numbness in her arms and legs.
The 610 Office of Benxi City treated Liang Tielong and Tan Yajiao's cases in the category of "serious." After 4 months of illegal detention, the Pingshan District Court sentenced Mrs. Tan Yajiao to 9 years of imprisonment and Mr. Liang Tielong to 12 years of imprisonment. The couple is imprisoned at the Dabei Prison, in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province.
On April 20, 2005, a police officer from Dabei Prison called Liang Tielong's family, saying that they could come see him. Mr. Liang Xiangyun, Liang Tielong's father, traveled to the prison on April 25. However, Liang Xiangyun was not allowed to see his son. Shocked by the sudden change of events, Liang Xiangyun wondered if the prison police were trying to cover up the evidence of torture. A police officer asked Liang Xiangyun for 10 yuan for telephone fees. The old man asked with surprise what telephone fee it was. The policeman said it was for the phone call made to the family saying they could meet Liang Tielong. Liang Xiangyun argued that a call less than a minute could not cost 10 yuan. [Translator's note: a phone call within 3 minutes usually costs .30 yuan on public pay phone in most cities in China]. The police insisted unreasonably that this was the price. Because his son and daughter-in-law were both imprisoned there and he wanted to see them, Liang Xiangyun gave the policeman the money, but was still not allowed to see his son or daughter-in-law.
Almost 70 years old, Liang Xiangyun's health was not very good because of previous work-related injuries. He came back home after more than 10 hours of sitting on the bus, and told his wife, Mrs. Zhao Airong, about the filthy tricks of the police. Upon hearing of the inhumane behavior of the police, Zhao Airong was so outraged that she had a stroke and was sent to the hospital. She was hospitalized again on May 3 and underwent brain surgery. She is still in serious condition. The Liang family has incurred a 20,000-yuan debt in order to pay the hospital fees. They have tried to appeal to the Political and Legal Commissions Office of the City Council, the local People's Congress, the local police stations, and so on, but have been rejected by all of these agencies.
The following is Mrs. Tan Yajiao's description of how she was tortured, causing her miscarriage:
On September 18, 2004, I was arrested and sent to Dongming Police Station. I was beaten and shocked with electric batons by several police officers. After transferring me to the detention center, the police there battered me even more severely. I went on a hunger strike to protest the torture and they beat me even harder because of it. On September 23, I was sent to the No.1 Hospital of Xihu District, where I was force-fed through my nose. Later, I was taken back to the detention center and my whole body was stretched and bound on a board with handcuffs and shackles. Before another forced-feeding, on the afternoon of September 25, I took out the force-feeding tube from my stomach because of the unbearable pain. The prisoners in the cell jumped on me and tied my hands behind my back with a wet towel. They pressed me on the bed and hit me; my body was trembling terribly. Policewomen Zhang Jinjuan asked me if I would eat, while I almost fainted and was unable to speak, I could only shake my head (indicating "No!") with great difficulty. Then, Zhang Jinjuan said to the head of the prisoners, Wang, "She's yours now." Upon Zhang Jinjuan's leaving, Wang said to the others, "Close the window and the door, so that others won't hear her screaming."
They continued beating me for while until I had to go to the toilet. Because I was shackled and could not get to the toilet, I used a basin. Two blood clots came out of my body, one was sticky, and the other had a red circle and a piece of white stuff in the middle as big as a fingernail. The two blood clots were about .7 to .8 centimeters wide. A prisoner asked if it was menstrual blood. I said, "It's not. It's a miscarriage." Wang told someone to flush it into the toilet quickly. That evening Zhang Jinjuan was on duty, and Wang whispered to her, "She just had a miscarriage." Zhang said, "Really?" Wang answered, "Yes. Several people saw it."
More than a month later, I reported that I suffered a miscarriage due to torture at the detention center to the head of the police station, Guoxin Liu. He was indifferent to my suffering. The detention center staff did not provide me with any necessary treatment after the miscarriage and only gave me cold water. I still have not had the post-miscarriage operation. The prisoners present at the time were Che Chunyan, Zu Lihong, Shiyang Wang, Liu Xiaomin, Sun Fengming, Feng Wei and Ren Yulan. They are all still at Dabei Prison in Shenyang City. Reng Bin, who carried the basin and flushed the contents down the toilet, has been released now. So is another witness and prisoner, Liu Shujing.

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Yang Suhong, 23 years old, 120 centimeters tall [less than 4 feet] and 23 kilograms in weight [a little over 50 pounds], is a disabled person living in the Jishan neighborhood of Majie Community, Xishan District, Kunming City. On November 30, 2004, policemen from the National Security Section took her to the Dabanqiao Women's Forced Labor Camp in Yunnan Province. She was brutally abused there until she was on the brink of death in May 2005.
According to a medical examination conducted at Yunnan University Hospital, Yang Suhong had developed symptoms of several diseases including a chronic inflammation of the gallbladder, kidney sag, peritonitis, inflammation of the pelvis, adnexitis, and gastroenteritis. She has become extremely emaciated.
To avoid responsibility, the people in charge recently sent Yang Suhong home. Her family is in financial difficulty and cannot afford medical treatment. Ms. Yang's mother has gone to the National Security Section several times to ask for help and for an explanation of what happened to her daughter, but they refuse to pay attention to her. She is forced to look after her daughter every day around the clock and cannot leave the house to go to her job. Their income is no longer guaranteed, and the family's financial situation has become precarious.
Meanwhile, the law enforcement officials from the National Security Section are closely following the dictates of Jiang Zemin and the Chinese Communist Party and continue to carry out persecution against Ms. Yang.
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Wang Yanling, a 72-year-old practitioner from Beijing, got rid of all of the illnesses that had bothered her for over 40 years after she learned Falun Gong. Every day, she happily told people how Dafa had saved her, telling them that this was the reason she was in such good shape. After July 20, 1999, when the persecution of Falun Gong began, the local neighborhood association and the police station repeatedly went to Ms. Wang's house to harass her and threaten her. They confiscated her Dafa books and materials, and forced her to go to a brainwashing class, which was quite a distance from her home. She was required to attend four times a day. At noon on November 24, 2004, the neighborhood association went to her house again to harass her. Ms. Wang died that afternoon after the visit.
Ms. Zhai Fengru was a practitioner in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. She lived at the south court of Dongyuan Local District on Zhaiying Street and was the organizer of a Falun Gong practice site for the local district. She was going through a rather severe tribulation around July 20, 1999. The police went to her house to harass her repeatedly, making her condition worse and worse. Ms. Zhai died in November that year, after enduring tremendous physical and mental hardship.
Ms. Liang Cuiai was a 70-year-old practitioner at the Wohu Mountain Park in Dunhuafang Area in Xinghualing District, Taiyuan City in Shanxi Province. The police arrested her once and ransacked her house. Ms. Liang was diagnosed with leukemia and died in mid-April, 2005.
Ms. Li Guangsu was a 67-year-old practitioner in Xinxiang City, Henan Province. She learned Falun Dafa in 1997, and was sent to the brainwashing class when the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999. The police went to Ms. Li's house frequently to harass her. They ransacked her house four times, breaking into her home at midnight twice. She was illegally detained on repeated occasions. The harassment caused her former illnesses to reappear and she became very ill. Then the police abducted her youngest daughter and illegally put her in a forced labor camp for a two-year term. Ms. Li Guangsu died on March 12; just one month after her daughter was taken away.
Ms. Li Kaiming, 81, lived in Huangbashan Village, Bamiao Town, Zhenba County in Shaanxi Province. She learned Falun Dafa in the spring of 1999. Under the persecution, the police abducted her son, also a practitioner. The incident greatly traumatized Ms. Li Kaiming and she died in a state of distress in October 2001.
(Clearwisdom.net) The publication of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and the wave of withdrawals from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) brought an unprecedented crisis to the CCP which has manifested as a fanatical, last ditch, all-out push to maintain power.
Weifang City is an area where the persecution is most severe. Since the persecution began on July 20, 1999, more than thirty practitioners there have been tortured to death. Many practitioners were arrested, detained, and sent to prisons, labor camps and brainwashing classes, and were savagely tortured. In March 2005, another around of arrests began. The perpetrators in Weifang City are the most fervent followers of the CCP in this persecution. According to an incomplete estimate, more than eighty practitioners were arrested between March and May of 2005. Twenty-one practitioners were arrested from Anqiu City, sixteen practitioners from Changyi, twelve practitioners from Qingzhou, ten practitioners from the Weicheng District, nine practitioners from Zhucheng, and a dozen practitioners each were arrested in Shouguang, Kuiwen, Gaomi and other counties and cities.
Looking at the situation in Weifang City, several characteristics regarding this large-scale wave of arrests are notable:
First, the arrests are pre-conceived and carried out in secret.
In March 2005, the provincial government held a meeting addressing the topic, "Intensify the monitoring and suppression regarding the new objective for Falun Gong." The CCP demanded a new investigation of practitioners, including the number of practitioner and their personal information.
All practitioners' names are put on a blacklist. Some street committees built "resident files" and told all the residents in the area to register. Monitoring systems were installed on Jiankang Street, Beigong Street and other thoroughfares.
The shopping district and Hi-Tech Commodity Supermarket set up security checkpoints to inspect people's bags for Dafa materials.
Some counties and cities require registration and inspection prior to renting a room and using a public computer.
The police, National Security Bureau officials, traffic police and city patrols randomly search cars, including their trunks, for Dafa materials.
The 610 Office sent collaborators to contact the practitioners and demand contact information about other practitioners.
Work units and street committees hired unemployed people to "visit" practitioners. One time a practitioner was approached by a stranger who asked him, "Are you still practicing Falun Gong? Do you know anyone else who does? Can you introduce me to them?" This practitioner immediately knew that this person was a hired agent and refused to give information to her.
In early April 2005, President of China, Hu Jintao and Vice President Zeng Qinghong went to Weifang City and Shouguang, and conducted secret tours. They gave orders pertaining to the current wave of withdrawals from the CCP, the Nine Commentaries, and the CCP's general effort to maintain control.
In May, the Shandong Province 610 Office held county, city and district meetings in Changle County, and secretly planned to arrest Falun Gong practitioners regarding the distribution of the Nine Commentaries. In the following 20 days, more than 30 practitioners were arrested in Shouguang, Changyi, Qingzhou and Zhucheng, as well as in other places. Eleven practitioners were arrested in Zhangling Town, Changyi City on May 19 alone.
These arrests were intentionally carried out in the countryside. The cities were avoided. Aside from three practitioners who were reported and arrested in an urban area when clarifying the truth or hanging banners, the majority of the arrested practitioners lived in the countryside. In the past, such arrests were highly publicized in order to intimidate other practitioners and the public. Now, the arrests are carried out secretly and are hidden from scrutiny. In April 2004 and October 2004, Luo Gan, director of the 610 Office, went to Weifang City, and more than ten practitioners were arrested. Most of them were the main coordinators of Dafa materials production sites. Because these practitioners in the city cooperated with each other and continually exposed the authorities' crimes, they were suppressed. The recent visit by Hu Jintao and Zeng Qinghong was followed by a change in tactics that is even more insidious.
The process of arrest is completely devoid of basic civility and restraint according to law. More than seventy practitioners who were arrested were doing chores around the house at the time of their arrests. Several other practitioners were working in the fields or in factories. The authorities broke into the practitioners' homes and rummaged through everything without showing any identification or warrants.
On March 15-16, twenty-one practitioners were arrested in Anqiu City. Of those, fourteen practitioners were sentenced to forced labor camps and two were sentenced to prison.
Practitioners Wang Jinyi and Sun Zhiye were released in 2000 and 2003, respectively, from labor camps. They have been arrested and sentenced to another three years of forced labor. Practitioner Su Xiaoyou and his wife Zhou Shufang, who is in her 60s, were arrested at home. The four officers included Cheng Shuping and Liu Jinlai. The practitioners are still being held at a detention center. Su Xiaoyou and his wife were arrested many times and detained, sent to brainwashing classes and brutally tortured. This happened because they went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong along with their three daughters, who are also Dafa practitioners, in October 1999. In October 2000, they were illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor and their land was confiscated. Their oldest daughter, Su Baolan, was tortured to death in October 2001, and their second daughter, Su Baoyun, was sentenced to three years of forced labor in October 2000 and released in 2003. She was recently arrested again and her home ransacked. Their youngest daughter, Su Baoli, was arrested and detained many times and was compelled to leave home to avoid further persecution. She had over 30,000 yuan extorted from her while incarcerated at the Anqiu Detention Center in October 2002. Ms. Su was arrested again at home on March 15, 2003 and sent to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp to be held for three years. Su Xiaoyou's entire family is being persecuted for their belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. In summary, four members of the family are held at labor camps and one member was tortured to death. Right now, three members are still in detention.
The corrupt authorities also robbed practitioners of their personal computers, TVs, cash and other valuables when ransacking their homes. When they ransacked the home of practitioner Wang Erde, a practitioner in his 70s living in Shidui Township, they took 1,000 yuan in cash, his salary card, two radios and Dafa materials.
Ten officers including Xu Wende, the head of the Qingzhou City 610 Office and group head Zuo Hengfa used pry bars to open the door of the home of practitioner Xu Baohua and his wife Wang Shumin. As they arrested the practitioners, they also took a TV, a VCD player, two radios, one computer, 30,000 yuan in cash, and Dafa materials.
Officers Zhou Zhong, Mao Yulong and others from Chengguan Town, Zhucheng City arrested practitioner Song Zhengyun at her home and sent her to a brainwashing class. They wrote a 5,000 yuan "fine" slip and went to Song Zhengyun's brother saying, "Give us 5,000 yuan and you can bail out your sister, otherwise we'll send her to a labor camp." Her brother pooled the 5,000 yuan from among the siblings and gave it to the officers.
Police officers from the Development District in Weifang City arrested practitioners from Jinma Village and extorted money from the [non-practitioner] villagers to incite hatred against the practitioners. On May 19, practitioner Liu Shulian from Zhangling Town, Changyi City was beaten and arrested at home by group leader Chen Xiaodong and other officials who broke the practitioner's leg(s) during savage beatings.
The above cases reveal the CCP's frenzied efforts in the persecution of Falun Gong. Presently, the persecution continues. A short while back, authorities from the Changle County 610 Office announced blatantly, "Fifty practitioners will be arrested in Wutu Town." When faced with such cruel persecution, we practitioners should increase our efforts to expose the persecution in our local areas, send forth righteous thoughts on a more frequent basis to eliminate the evil elements in other dimensions, and rescue fellow practitioners. We urgently call on the international community and kind-hearted people everywhere to pay attention to and stop these perpetrators from brutalizing law-abiding citizens.
It is a heavenly law that good will be rewarded and evildoing will reap its own punishment. The following are examples of perpetrators who have experienced retribution for their roles in the persecution:
Wang Lifu, former deputy secretary of the Weifang City Party Committee died from lung cancer in the spring of 2002.
Zhu Jinde, of the former Weifang City Liaison Office in Beijing, was promoted for his ruthlessness and changing the methods of persecution. He died from cancer in September 2000.
Wang Limin, deputy secretary of the Changle County Politics and Law Committee, and the main person in charge of persecuting Falun Gong in the county, died from cancer in 2001.
Dong Jianhua, the former deputy head of the Fangzi District Police Department in Weifang City, was in charge of persecuting Falun Gong. In September 2001, Dong Jianhua and his wife were riding in a car on a highway when their car suddenly crashed into a fuel truck and exploded. He and his wife died on the spot and were burnt beyond recognition.
Editors' Note: Each time we publish news of this nature, we do so with heavy hearts. These people started off as public servants, but under the intense pressure applied by Jiang Zemin and the CCP, they were pushed into persecuting Dafa disciples. In the process of destroying the lives of kind, law-abiding citizens, they have sealed their own fates and inevitably faced karmic retribution as punishment. If it weren't for Jiang's wicked orders, perhaps their fates would have been different.
(Clearwisdom.net) Since July 20, 1999, the beginning of the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners, the Women's Forced Labor Camp in Jiangxi Province has followed Jiang Zemin's orders to "ruin their reputation, bankrupt them financially, and destroy them physically." The labor camp has carried out cruel persecution against Falun Gong practitioners in the name of achieving "unity, reeducation, safety, and influence."
All of the Falun Gong practitioners illegally detained at the Women's Forced Labor Camp have experienced various degrees of brutal persecution. Fa study and doing the Falun Gong exercises are forbidden. The detainees range in age from 20 to 70, but regardless of age, all of them are forced to work from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.; some of them have to work until midnight to meet the daily production quotas. Many of the practitioners have developed heart disease and high blood pressure due to the relentless persecution.
The following are accounts of the cruel persecution inflicted upon Falun Dafa practitioners, which I have personally witnessed.
Wang Shuying, in her forties, was an employee of Nanchang Airplane Manufacturing Company. She was illegally sent to a forced labor camp just after hysterectomy surgery. In the labor camp, Ms. Wang developed several illnesses including heart problems, indigestion, and insomnia. The authorities are still detaining her in spite of her poor health.
Fu Jinfeng, in her thirties, worked at the blood donation station in Nanchang City. Ms. Fu has been detained in a small, windowless cell, where she has not been allowed to take a shower for an entire week, even when the temperatures are around 40o C [104 oF]. Eating, drinking, and defecation all take place in this small space.
A Falun Gong practitioner named Xian Nu was beaten until her head was bleeding and she suffered a mental collapse. She now wears a thick jacket even in the summer. However, even under these conditions, Ms. Xian is still illegally detained.
Liu Yubin, a Falun Gong practitioner from Jian City, in her sixties, was diagnosed with tuberculosis and severe cough during the physical examination prior to entering the forced labor camp. Due to the excessive workload and inhuman treatment in the labor camp, Ms. Liu became emaciated and very ill.
Long Hongying, from Wanzai County, in her fifties, was severely beaten by the police because she clarified the truth about Dafa. A wound on her leg is still visible. Her mother could not withstand the sudden misfortunes brought about by the persecution, and passed away. The police did not even allow Ms. Long to see her mother for the last time, causing Long Hongying great mental and physical distress.
Yuan Xianyun, from Xinjian County, in her fifties, was illegally sent to forced labor because of distributing truth-clarification materials. She was cruelly tortured until she vomited blood and had vaginal bleeding. In addition, she suffered bladder incontinence, and pain and numbness in the left side of the body. Ms. Yuan can no longer take care of herself.
Another practitioner who works for the Nanchang Airplane Manufacturing Company, Shu Juan, sustained a severe beating in which several of her front teeth were knocked out, simply because she did not comply with the guards' unreasonable orders. The guards also instigated common prisoners to severely beat Ge Manzhen, another practitioner from Xinjian County.
These cases offer a glimpse of the Chinese Communist Party's evil nature and the savage persecution of innocent Falun Gong practitioners.

Police Officer Reprimands a Young Man Who Was Ignorant of the Truth
A young man in Yichun, Heilongjiang Province opposed Falun Dafa because he was poisoned by the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) anti-Falun Gong propaganda. He would reject Falun Dafa practitioners who clarified the truth to him. He claimed that he just believed in the CCP. He said that the Party paid his salary, so he opposed whatever the Party opposed. As soon as he said that, a police officer standing beside him immediately reprimanded him.
The police officer said, "What is the CCP to you? Why do you support them like that? The CCP would not have paid you if you had not worked for them. The CCP will also make you suffer if they don't like you." The officer also showed the young man what the Minghui Weekly reported about some CCP officials publishing withdrawal statements on the Internet after reading the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.
The young man was speechless and changed his behavior immediately.
The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party Takes the Work Unit by Storm
An employee in a work unit in Yichun, Heilongjiang Province unknowingly picked up a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. He took the booklet to his office and read it with his colleagues. It caused quite a stir.
His colleagues had all sorts of comments. Some said that the Party was very hypocritical and cruel. Some said that the party is doomed to end. Some said that their parents had made comments similar to those in the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Some said that the writing of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party was thorough and was right to the point in revealing the CCP's nature.

Unjustified Demands Made When Visiting Family Members in Jail
In 2005, the sister of a practitioner in Northeastern China named Qiuping (alias) went to visit her brother who was detained. The jail has a rule: Family members of jailed Falun Gong practitioners must slander the founder of Falun Gong before they are allowed to visit their family members. Qiuping does not practice Falun Gong, but she knows that Falun Gong practitioners become good people after they begin following the principles of the practice. When the police forced Qiuping to slander the Teacher of Falun Gong, Qiuping asked, "Why do you ask me to slander people? What rule is this? From my childhood, my mother taught me not to slander people." The officers said without any explanation, "If you do not slander the founder of Falun Gong, you are not allowed to see your brother."
Qiuping did not compromise and said: "I must see my brother today." She then went to the administration office. At first, the administration office personnel said the same thing that the police had said in the reception room, but Qiuping was not frightened. Disagreeing with their arguments, she told the policemen: "Not only will I not slander anyone today, but also I must see my brother unconditionally." The policemen in the jail administration office were subdued by her vigor and her uncompromising sense of justice. They called the officers in the reception room and told them to let Qiuping see her brother.
Three Plainclothes Policemen Enlighten to the Truth
In 2005 a practitioner named Xingyu (alias), from Jilin Province, was clarifying the truth to passengers on a long-distance bus. Many people surrounded him and listened to him. At this time, three people suddenly took out their ID's and said to him, "We are plainclothes policemen." The three policemen even took out a video camera, wanting to record the scene, and threatened Xingyu. But Xingyu did not panic. While sending righteous thoughts, he said to them, "No matter what you do, you need to know the truth. I am telling you the truth today. It is completely for your benefit. I do not have any personal purpose for this at all." Xingyu kept a calm heart and continued to clarify the truth to the three policemen and the other passengers. Two hours passed, and after arriving at their destination, the three policemen said to Xingyu, "Be careful of your safety in the future when clarifying the truth." Then they got off the bus and left.
Sincerely For the Benefit of Others
One night, a practitioner went out to distribute truth-clarifying materials. When arriving at the door of a house, a woman came out and asked, "What are you doing?" The practitioner replied calmly, "I am distributing flyers, please learn the truth." The lady asked suspiciously, "Why don't you distribute flyers during the daytime? Why do you come at night?" The practitioner said, "I have no time during the day, I have to work, and I only have time at night." The lady took the flyer agreeably. What we do is most righteous. We do it sincerely and for other's benefit. This is a manifestation of our compassion.

(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."
Here are some examples of the Solemn Declarations:
