(Clearwisdom.net, May 20, 2005) On May 15, 2005, Argentina Falun Dafa Sharing Conference was held at Tucuman province in northern Argentina. Though local practitioners have never been to a sharing conference in other countries and they don't even have any experience in organizing conference of this kind, the conference was organized very well. Practitioners from United Kingdom, Chile and France also attended this conference.

Practitioners from different regions in Argentina shared their experience. As many Argentina practitioners are new practitioners, a number of them shared how they have been cultivating themselves and at the same time striving to clarify truth and validate Dafa. During the conference, little practitioners sent their greetings to Master and congratulated on the World Falun Dafa Day. They also thanked Master for bringing them "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance" principles. Though they couldn't personally present Master flowers, they said they dedicated their most precious flowers from their hearts to Master. The conference successfully concluded on 8pm.
On the following day, practitioners held a "Falun Dafa" photo display at downtown area and a Falun Dafa workshop at night. The workshop invited many guests, and a large number of them asked about how Falun Dafa is spreading around the world and the ongoing brutal persecution against Falun Dafa.
(Clearwisdom.net, May 20, 2005) From May 1-10, 2005, the "Uncompromising Courage" International Art Exhibit was displayed in Lawrence, Kansas a college town in the heartland of America. A local artist writes, "The exhibit is poignant, powerful and beautiful, while also showing such a positive attitude, great courage and compassionate heart. It's hard to properly put into words all the feelings the artwork brings to me. Thank you so much for bringing this exhibit to our community. I hope this helps raise awareness of the gentleness of Falun Gong spiritual exercises and meditation, and of the atrocity of the persecution, so that people respond in ways that truly help." From the responses of the public to the exhibit, it appears it is doing that and more.

With only three weeks preparation time before the arrival of the exhibit, the Lawrence Public Library, Lawrence Arts Center and the United Way enthusiastically offered the space required to split-up the exhibit, as it was too large to hold in any one available area. The exhibit consists of over 40 plus prints of original art work by Falun Gong practitioners. Four of the artists have personally experienced the torture and savage beatings of the persecution, and one is still a prisoner of consciousness.
After arriving at the Lawrence Arts Center to set up the easels, it was learned that only four small to medium size pictures rather than seven to 10 pictures of any size could be placed in the main lobby. Soon, the writings in the guest books showed that it did not matter if it was four pictures at the arts center or 19 pictures at the library's lower level, the messages of the exhibit came across to the hundreds that viewed them. For example, one woman wrote in the guest book at the arts center, "This art exhibit is an important way to communicate what Falun Dafa is and what is happening to the people who practice. It is so important for people in the western culture to be aware of other persecution, so that other organizations can get involved."

Public participants of the exhibits did get involve and one way was by signing the postcards to rescue the orphaned children and Charles Lee.
Overwhelmingly, people expressed their gratitude for being given the opportunity to see the pictures and their sense of "ah" at viewing the mastery of the artistic skills and stories they told. Everyone walked away with a richer understanding of the persecution and Falun Gong. Some voiced their deep sadness and even anger that this could be happening. Another woman wrote, "I cannot believe the [Chinese Communist Party's] intolerance to something different. Differences in people are good. There is nothing wrong with Falun Gong practices... These are wonderful depictions in that I am greatly affected by your art." Another person from the public said, "This is a truly amazing story and also very sad for those who believed. I'm a believer."
Individuals and even families came specifically just to view the exhibits. A 10 year old, who saw with her family, the exhibits on Mother's Day wrote, "My favorite one is called, 'Homeless.' I am really sad for the girl that has no parents anymore. Poor little girl."
During the opening reception, Becky of Congressman Dennis Moore's office cut the opening ribbon and told how the Congressman and his office learned about the persecution in 2001. They got a call that a constituent from Moore's district, David Snape, who practices Falun Gong, was being detained by Chinese authorities along with other western Falun Gong practitioners for peacefully appealing the persecution of Falun Gong in China's Tiananmen Square. The picture, "Coming For You," reminded Becky of David's story, as it depicts another group of western practitioners in Tiananmen Square in 2001 who were meditating in front of a banner just prior to being brutally rounded up, detained, and later deported. She explained that the Congressman's office was trying to find ways to get David released, and at the same time learning about the serious nature of the Chinese government's persecution of Falun Gong. Becky noted that if it were not for persons educating their representatives about the various happenings, they would not have a full understanding of the different situations regarding the persecution, and thus cannot act accordingly to help. She commended the art exhibit for carrying the message about the persecution to the public.
As the exhibit time was about to end, it was learned that indeed people were interested enough to see all the pictures, and took the time to traveled to the three sites. When taking the exhibit down, a library staff person told a local Falun Gong practitioner, "I will miss the pictures. One of the reasons is that so many nice people came to view them."
For ten days the pictures illuminated the places where they hung with their light, righteousness, beauty and messages. This illumination opened the hearts, minds, and souls of fellow community members on many different levels.

This day is also the 13th anniversary of the public introduction of Falun Gong, which is also known as Falun Dafa. Falun Gong was first introduced by Mr. Li Hongzhi on May 13th 1992 in Changchun, China. In a short time, the practice became very popular in China with number of practitioners quickly amounted to more than 100 million. Today, Falun Dafa has spread to more than 70 countries around the world. Despite the tremendous benefits that Falun Dafa have brought to society and individuals, with the goal to control public will and secure its political power, former Chinese Communist Party Leader Jiang Zemin started to persecute Falun Dafa in 1999 using all state resources. The persecution soon escalated to a genocide, and in the past 6 years, more than 2000 innocent practitioners have been tortured to death.

On this occasion, the practitioners of Falun Gong from Slovakia and Czech republic organized a small cultural event: They demonstrated exercises of Falun Gong, distributed balloons with the words "World needs truthfulness, compassion, forbearance" to children and they also told people about the unjust persecution of Falun Gong in China. Many people signed our petition against persecution and many listened to practitioners. People enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere created by the peaceful practice and sincerely hope that the suffering of Chinese practitioners will soon be ended.

(Clearwisdom.net) For ten years running, Germany's Magdeburg Police Head Office has always held activities on Ascension Day to promote cross-cultural communication between foreigners and local citizens. Falun Gong practitioners attended this activity by invitation on 5th May 2005.

There were always interested people asking for information at the Falun Gong practitioners' stand. Bystanders were attracted to the elegant sets of exercises and stopped by to watch. People wanting to find out the truth about the persecution against this peaceful practice surrounded the posters that were on the grass. They could not understand why the communist regime is committing such unjust and brutal human rights violations against Falun Gong, and they signed the petition to express their support for bringing the prime persecutor, former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin, to justice through a court of law.
An elderly German man who knew Chinese culture pretty well stood for a long time at the information stand. He said he could not completely accept the explanation that the persecution started because there were too many people practicing Falun Gong in China. Practitioners told him that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) advocates atheism and has destroyed traditional Chinese culture through many movements and campaigns in history. Nevertheless Falun Gong is rooted in traditional Chinese culture and embodies the soul of the culture, awakening people's morality and conscience. This could not be tolerated by the CCP, which has always upheld "deceit, wickedness and violence". This is the main reason for the persecution of Falun Gong in China. He nodded, showing that the questions in his heart were answered.

A policeman said, through the Communist Party's former domination in East Germany, he had had an understanding of the Communist Party system, but China's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners exceeds by far anything that the German Communist Party has ever done! Another elderly lady knelt on the ground and carefully copied down the main points of the Falun Gong exercises. A practitioner approached her and handed her a newspaper and leaflet containing more information and told her the time and place for the Magdeburg exercise site. She said she couldn't believe that such a great practice is taught free of charge.
There were a large number of people who wanted to find out about the truth or learn the exercises. From time to time someone said that they wanted to learn the exercises on the spot and asked practitioners to teach them. When the activity ended in the afternoon there were still people lingering about, unwilling to leave.

An honest and kind businesswoman who stayed regularly in Islington has been jailed for two years in a Beijing labour camp for practising Falun Gong, a faith that is [banned and persecuted] in China.
Friends are campaigning for the release of single mother Feng Yang (also known as Annie), 42, amid fears she may be suffering torture and ill treatment in the Tiantanghe labour camp.
Antique dealer Ms Yang made regular business trips from her home in Beijing to Islington over the past 10 years, staying at the home of Agnes Wilton, an antique dealer in Camden Passage, Islington.
Ms Wilton, 62, of Queen's Drive, Finsbury Park, last saw her "Chinese daughter" in November last year.
She said: "It's so unjust. She's not a criminal. I don't follow Falun Gong but it's her faith, her religion. It involves regular exercise and it made her strong and healthy."
Ms Wilton has written to Prime Minister Tony Blair, Conservative leader Michael Howard and The Queen, campaigning for Ms Yang's release.
"She's a single parent and she's going to miss her 14-year-old son growing up. His grandparents are looking after him but it's not the same as a mother," she said.
Ms Wilton has received no information on the welfare of her close friend and is concerned she may be ill treated.
She added: "She's very sweet and nice and always wanted to help.
"A few times I got very ill and she flew over to take care of me. She was coming anyway but it was an excuse to push the trip forward."
An Amnesty International spokeswoman said: "Thousands of followers of the Falun Gong spiritual movement, which has tens of thousands of followers, have been arbitrarily detained for peacefully protesting the government's ban on their activities.

Martin Luther King was a famous civil rights leader. In 1950s to 1960s, he promoted the idea of striving for freedom, equity and dignity of all nationalities though nonviolent resistance.
This was the first time that Falun Gong practitioners applied for participation in this event, and they were warmly welcomed by sponsors. The Martin Luther King parade set off at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and 61st Street and ended at 86th Street next to Central Park. The well-known Metropolitan Museum of Art is along the route. Continuous streams of people walked along the streets, and the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art were crowded with tourists.

During the parade, numerous people stopped to watch the procession. Falun Gong practitioners' procession received great attention. A great number of people took truth-clarifying materials, and took pictures or videotaped the parade. The Falun Gong procession was led by a huge banner that read in English and Chinese, "Falun Dafa." A banner reading "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" followed. The valiant waist drum troupe attracted all spectators' attention. Behind an English banner reading, "Falun Gong is good" was another English banner that read, "Falun Gong - Peaceful meditation ... persecuted in China."
The song, "Falun Dafa is Good" was played along the route with the waist drum troupe's performance. Intermittently, the waist drum troupe also demonstrated Falun Gong exercises. In particular, in front of the stand and at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, practitioners' exercise demonstration received warm applause.
New Yorkers have become more and more familiar with Falun Gong, and understand and support Falun Gong.

CHINA NEWS: 207 NEW DEATHS DOCUMENTED IN TWO WEEKS
A shocking 207 torture and persecution-related deaths of people who practice Falun Gong in China were verified and reported by sources in China over the past two weeks, marking the single largest number in any two-week period thus far in the six-year suppression. The reports continue a startling escalation in deaths documented over the past 9 weeks with a total of 563 reported. Some of the deaths occurred recently while others took place earlier but are only now coming to light; Chinese authorities control tightly all information surrounding Falun Gong deaths in custody.
NY TIMES REPORT: FORCED LABOR CAMPS REMAIN VITAL TOOL FOR SUPPRESSION
THE NEW YORK TIMES -- Here in a bleak stretch of eastern China, Mr. Li, 40, spent two years in a prison called Shandong No. 2 Labor Re-education Camp. Mr. Li, who spoke on condition that only his surname be used, and other followers of the banned spiritual group Falun Gong have been jailed here despite never having a lawyer or a trial - rights granted under China's criminal law. That is because Shandong No. 2 is part of a vast penal system in China that is separate from the judicial system... In a nondemocratic country like China, such abuse of legal rights might not seem surprising. But this system, a relic of the Mao era, is presenting a dilemma for a modern Communist Party that faces pressure at home and abroad to change the system yet remains obsessed with security and political control...
Human rights advocates agree that few gestures would be more significant than abolishing or changing this system, which is known as reform through labor re-education. But unlike releasing a political prisoner, a common Chinese good-will gesture, changing labor re-education could force the Communist Party to give up a major tool it has used to maintain its hold on power...The crackdown on Falun Gong followers like Mr. Li is a case in point. The government had paid sporadic attention to Falun Gong until April 1999, when 10,000 followers held an unannounced protest...The existence of labor re-education meant the police could sweep up masses of people without the time and complications of court trials. "If they wanted to imprison these tens of thousands of followers through normal judicial processes, it would have been impossible because what these people were doing was not a crime," Mr. Gao [Zhisheng, a lawyer in Beijing] said...
Mr. Li arrived [in a labor camp] in 2000 after spending 10 days in a police holding cell. His family was not notified until he had begun serving a two-year sentence. He said guards often jolted inmates with electric cattle prods to get them to renounce Falun Gong. "The pain was indescribable," he said. "My body jumped in the air." WORLDWIDE: 6TH ANNUAL WORLD FALUN DAFA DAY CELEBRATED ON FIVE CONTINENTS

BBC REPORT: HONG KONG'S HIGHEST COURT RULES IN FAVOR OF FALUN GONG
BBC -- Hong Kong's highest court has quashed the convictions of eight members of the Falun Gong spiritual movement. They were arrested after demonstrating outside a Chinese government building in the territory three years ago... Because an earlier court decision had ruled that their demonstration was in fact legal, the Court of Final Appeal decided the Falun Gong members should not have been prosecuted for resisting what was in effect an illegal attempt by police to arrest and charge them... The court said the police had found themselves confronted with an extremely difficult situation and should not be criticized unduly. But the fact remains that hundreds of peaceful demonstrations take place in Hong Kong each year. The prosecution of the Falun Gong followers was extremely unusual. Some will see the quashing of their convictions as evidence of judicial independence in the territory. Others will argue that this shows it was an ill-advised politically motivated prosecution that should never had been brought before the courts in the first place. SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST -- Beijing has been accused of distorting history in its plans for second world war commemorations by focusing on the Communist Party's (CCP) role in the defeat of the Japanese...Apart from requiring all war memorials and war exhibition halls to be opened to the public free, [the CCP] lays down the theme for the commemoration. "[We need to] widely conduct propaganda education on the historical experience of our victory against the Japanese," the directive says, "and forcefully publicise the fact that the victory was achieved under the banner of the anti-Japanese united front advocated by the Communist Party, with the participation of people of all races, all democratic groups and anti-Japan groups, as well as people from all walks of life in China, Hong Kong and Macau as well as overseas Chinese." All commemorative events must emphasise the party's role as "the pillar of the nation's united resistance in the war."
But Zhao Dagong, a Shenzhen-based writer, said the party was engaging in wholesale distortion of history by claiming all credit for the defeat of the Japanese. While the Communist Party of the former Soviet Union played a central role in leading the fight and winning the war against the Nazis, in China, the party - with its ragtag army of guerilla fighters - fought the Japanese in an alliance under the leadership of the Nationalists, or the Kuomintang, he said. During the eight-year war of resistance, the Nationalist army suffered most of the casualties in direct combat, but for decades mainland history books have stated the opposite.

(Clearwisdom.net, May 19, 2005) On the afternoon of Saturday May 14, Falun Gong practitioners from Belgium, Switzerland, and Holland held an activity at La Monnaie Square in the center of Brussels, the capital city of Belgium and political capital of Europe, to celebrate the 6th World Falun Dafa Day and the 13th anniversary of the introduction of Falun Dafa to the public. They also wished happy birthday to Falun Gong founder Master Li Hongzhi.

Practitioners' hearts were full of joy while celebrating this wonderful day and helping more people learn the truth about Falun Gong. It was forecast to rain that day, but it didn't.
Posters, banners and leaflets in Chinese, English, French and Dutch were prepared to hand out to the public. Practitioners also handed out "Falun Dafa is Good" balloons to the children. As soon as the Falun Gong exercise music started, lots of people gathered around, asked for leaflets and watched the exercise demonstrations. A few practitioners answered questions from the public. Besides local residents, there were also people of all races from other countries. People were interested to know where they could buy Falun Gong books and the location of the nearest exercise practice site.
A waist-drum group organized by local practitioners made their first public appearance and the drummers were very popular. For example, a lady asked to be pictured with the troupe.
For some new practitioners, this was the first time they had taken part in this kind of activity and they worked hard to make the activity a success.

Many people came to learn about the truth of Falun Dafa
Since the location was close to a tourist attraction, people including tourists from various countries came and went in a continuous stream. Big banners reading "Falun Gong Is Good" and "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance" were very eye-catching. Practitioners demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises along with peaceful music. The demonstration attracted a lot of people. In the meantime, leaflets were given out and folded paper lotus flowers were given to children and the elderly. Some showed great interest in Falun Gong and talked with practitioners for a long time.
Many kind-hearted people came to read our display boards and showed concern for the brutal persecution taking place in China. Those who understood the truth showed sympathy and support by signing our petition. A group of young men lined up to sign their names on a petition calling for an end to the persecution.
We also met a number of Chinese tourists. Some had already heard the truth about Falun Gong. Most of them were willing to listen to us and accepted our leaflet and the "Nine Commentaries on the Chinese Communist Party." When some declined out of fear of getting into trouble on the way back to China, we then suggested to them that they read them in the privacy of their hotel or on the plane, which they gladly agreed to do.

(Clearwisdom.net) On May 14th 2005, Irish Falun Gong practitioners held a series of activities in Ireland's capital city of Dublin to celebrate the World Falun Dafa Day.
Accompanied by the beautiful music of "Falun Dafa Is Good", a Falun Gong parade slowly made its way through the centre of Dublin, where many passers-by slowed down to look at the performances and take pictures. The parade ended at O'Connell Street, which is the most famous and busiest street in Dublin where many Chinese people congregate.
Practitioners proceeded with a series of celebration programs including the demonstration of the five sets of Falun Gong exercises, performances of waist drumming and traditional Chinese dancing, a choir performance, etc. The parade and performances were highly acclaimed by the public with hearty applause.

The celebration activities attracted a lot of people
Since former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin and the Chinese communist regime initiated this brutal persecution against Falun Gong in 1999, through practitioners' persistent peaceful campaigns against the persecution, more and more people have come to know the facts about the persecution and started to practice Falun Gong. In Ireland, the number of Falun Gong practitioners has doubled. In the meantime, more and more righteous voices from the society and government sources have increased calling for an immediate end to this persecution.
While it is so true that things go around and come around, practitioners hope that everyone can make the right choice between justice and evil and all kind-hearted people will have a bright future.

The coordinator of this event said that Falun Dafa was his spiritual sustenance and this for him was the most important day of the year. He and his wife began to practice Falun Dafa in 2001. Soon, his chronic fatigue syndrome disappeared and he had a new life. Being Jewish, he deeply understands the cruelty of the Nazi persecution, so he doesn't want to see this happen to Chinese practitioners. Two months after beginning the practice, he felt he could no longer remain silent about the persecution of Falun Gong and started to help appeal to the Chinese government to stop the persecution. "I can't imagine anything more evil than the Chinese Communist Party, which persecutes its own people, including Falun Gong, Christians, Tibetan Buddhists, and many others. In fact, you can be persecuted for believing anything other than Communism."
A Chinese woman had been detained in a brainwashing center in China for practicing Falun Gong. On this day, she was very excited, "I say today is a special day. Falun Gong has been persecuted in China for about six years; today (we) can celebrate the 13th anniversary of Master teaching the Fa to public. Besides, today is Master's birthday, I am very excited. I am very happy." She began to practice Falun Gong in 1997, and her illnesses, such as migraine headaches, spondylosis, and heart disease were all cured after practicing Falun Gong.
A practitioner from Russia has over ten family members practicing Falun Gong. She is especially thankful to Falun Dafa, which provided answers to many difficult questions about God, life and the universe.

A school principal read the Nine Commentaries, and one by one the teachers at the school denounced the CCP
A Northern Chinese school principle always considered the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to be "great and glorious." And he thought that although the CCP had committed wrongdoings, they were reasonable.
After he read the Nine Commentaries from Epoch Times, he was shocked and understood the true nature of the CCP. The CCP disowned the misfortunate and killed countless others. The CCP has the characteristics of an evil cult. It is a helpless evil spirit. Only by denouncing "the mark of the Beast" could he be saved.
So, not only did the principal resign from the CCP, he gave the Nine Commentaries to other teachers. After they read it, more than 10 people from their school renounced membership in the CCP too.

(Clearwisdom.net) To this day, some people continue to believe that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to suppress Falun Gong because its practitioners "besieged" Zhongnanhai, the Chinese Government compound. Those people don't know the truth of the matter. In fact, both the CCP and Jiang Zemin knew clearly what Falun Gong was at the time. They knew well that people who practice Falun Gong are good people. However, the nature of the CCP is "deceit, wickedness, and violence," which is the opposite of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance." That's why the CCP is determined to eliminate Falun Gong. This is a battle between good and evil. In fact, the suppression of Falun Gong had been systematically schemed by the CCP over several years.
About four years before the "April 25" appeal, Jiang's regime attempted to outlaw Falun Gong by launching anti-Falun Gong campaigns one after another. Thereafter, they planned the "Tianjin Incident" and then secretly directed the "Zhongnanhai Incident." Although, Premier Zhu Rongji at the time handled the peaceful appeal of ten thousand Falun Gong practitioners properly, Jiang's regime kept playing their schemes and eventually instigated the frenzied and open suppression on July 20, 1999. Therefore, the "April 25" appeal is definitely not the real reason the CCP wanted to eradicate Falun Gong, and not the beginning of the suppression. It is only an important part of the whole conspiracy that had been in progress for a long time.
My husband and I experienced the entire process of this historic event. We are witnesses to history.
I. Suppression and Anti-Suppression Efforts before the "April 25" Appeal
1. The CCP Attempted to Outlaw Falun Gong in 1995
Mr. Ye Hao, a Falun Gong practitioner and a former bureau level official at the Ministry of Public Security, confirmed that some departments in the CCP central government prepared to outlaw Falun Gong around the time of the 1995 Chinese Lunar New Year. "[The] China Falun Gong Research Association wrote three reports in detail to the Chinese Qigong Scientific Research Association that introduced the state and character of Falun Gong since it was introduced to the public, which facilitated the withdrawal of the order to outlaw the practice."
2. The Start of the Cultural Attack against Falun Gong, a Violation of the CCP Propaganda Department's "Three No's" Policy
The "Three No's" policy (no attacking, no disputing, no reporting) was issued by the CCP Propaganda Department in 1982. However, in 1996, under the order of the Propaganda Department and the Ministry of Public Security, the Guangming Daily, mouthpiece of the CCP, published for the first time an article with the author's name defaming Falun Gong. The article was entitled "A Loud and Long Alarm Must Be Sounded against Pseudo-Science." It labeled Falun Gong as "superstitious" and a "spurious science." It started the violation of the "Three No's" policy and led to the "Guangming Daily Incident." Falun Gong practitioners appealed and wrote to the press in time to clarify the truth.
Falun Gong spread very fast. In early 1996, Zhuan Falun, its main text, became the bestseller in Beijing. Jiang Zemin ordered an investigation to find fault with the book, but it did not find any politically sensitive issues in it. Therefore, in the name of "having the elements of superstition," the General Administration of Press and Publication under the Propaganda Department issued an order to confiscate, destroy and prohibit the publication of Falun Dafa literature on July 24, 1996.
3. Failure of the Ministry of Public Security's 1997 Anti-Falun Gong Campaign
In January, and again in July 1997, the Ministry of Public Security carried out a national investigation into the so-called "illegal religious activities" of Falun Gong. They went so far as to plant agents in Falun Gong activities in order to discover any "criminal evidence." As a result, after a thorough investigation, all reports from the public security system in the country indicated that they hadn't found any problems yet. The first round of attack ended in failure.
4. The Ministry of Public Security Prepared Another Anti-Falun Gong Campaign that Ended in Vain
The facts of the 1997 investigation were very clear. However, the CCP, led by Jiang's gang, was jealous and felt threatened. They wouldn't give up, and plotted another major snare. In July 1998, the First Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security once again issued secret orders to investigate Falun Gong. It even internally labeled Falun Gong as an "evil cult" and then collected evidence on a national scale. Surprisingly, they did not find any criminal evidence in the entire country to charge Falun Gong because Falun Gong practitioners strictly follow the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance." Led by the head of the National People's Congress, Qiao Shi, a group of retired veteran officials also carried out a thorough investigation of Falun Gong. They came to the conclusion that Falun Gong has "a hundred advantages and not a single disadvantage" for the country and its citizens. At the end of 1998, they submitted an official report to the CCP Central Committee Political Bureau. In the report they wrote that "Win the world if they win the popular sentiment. Lose the world if they lose the popular sentiment." As a result, this ominous snare ultimately failed.
5. Fully Use Media to Create Rumors and Calumny
The evil forces mobilized the media to fabricate rumors and slander Falun Gong when they could not find anything wrong with the practice. In 1998, newspapers such as Nanfang Weekend, The Qilu Evening News, China Youth Daily, The Healthy Newspaper and others unceasingly published articles attacking Falun Gong. The China Buddhist Association publicly slandered Falun Gong as an "evil cult" in its publications. In June 1998, a religious culture publishing house distributed Mr. Chen's first book slandering Falun Gong and its founder.
6. The Cause of the Beijing TV Station Incident
In May 1998, Luo Gan's brother-in-law, He Zuoxiu, an academician of the China Academy of Science (CAS), fabricated a story to slander Falun Gong on a Beijing TV Station. He claimed that a graduate student named Wang, from the CAS, became mentally ill due to practicing Falun Gong. He used this contrived story to attack Falun Gong on numerous occasions. Wang's roommates and classmates clarified the facts in detail to He Zuoxiu many times, telling him that Wang was not a Falun Gong practitioner at all. However, He Zuoxiu intentionally continued to spread this fabricated story to frame Falun Gong by planting rumors at the TV station, even though he knew the facts. He planted the seeds that fueled the Beijing TV Station to slander Falun Gong in its programming. This was obviously another plot set up by Jiang and Luo's hoodlum gang.
7. Falun Gong Practitioners' Righteousness Suppressed the Evil, Causing the Crackdown Plots to Fail Again and Again
(1) All the attacks against Falun Gong directly violated the policy of the "Three No's" established by the State Council, and all those attacks against Falun Gong were generated systematically from the State Machinery in a highly organized form by CCP's Jiang regime. Out of great compassion and tolerance, Falun Gong practitioners telephoned, mailed letters, delivered materials, and clarified the truth to various levels of government agencies. It was said that the letters received by each agency could not fit into large mail sacks. Large numbers of Falun Gong practitioners also went to appeal and clarify the truth in person at the Appeals Office of the State Council, Propaganda Department, the General Administration of Press and Publication, State Sport General Administration, and news agencies, and helped many people and organizations learn about Falun Gong from a positive perspective.
For example, when my husband and I went to appeal at the Propaganda Department, a female official listened carefully to our personal experience about the miraculous healing effect of Falun Gong, and told us that if the practice improved our health, "you could continue to practice Falun Gong." In fact, the public was amicable towards Falun Gong at that time, and did not condemn Falun Gong at all. Persecuting Falun Gong was against the will of the people.
(2) Faced with various incidents and unreasonable provocations, practitioners wanted to get the attention of the leadership in the Chinese Government to help them distinguish good from bad. Twenty-one high-profile people, including the famous singer Guan Guimin, wrote letters to the leaders of the government in May or June 1998. In August and September of that same year, 160 intellectuals with high-ranking titles, and senior officials from the fields of science and technology, education, cultural studies, and law, co-signed a letter to the State Council and the CCP Central Committee of about the "Announcement" issued by the Ministry of Public Security. The letter was copied to related departments of the State Council. Professor Wang from the Department of Law, Beijing University, wrote the first draft of the letter. All the co-signers gathered in the Museum of Architecture at Qinghua University to discuss, revise, and sign the letter. (My husband and I also participated in the discussion. My husband, Li Baoqing, was the contact person from the field of science and technology). "The Appeal Letter" set forth that the "Announcement" issued by the Ministry of Public Security was in violation of the Constitution and Law of China, stated that this was unfair treatment of Falun Gong, and demanded an open environment for cultivating Falun Gong.
Until the incident of April 25, 1999, we did not realize that Premier Zhu had responded to the letter by criticizing officials at the Ministry of Public Security for not taking care of other key cases that damaged the interests of the nation, instead of making a fuss over a group of cultivators. During the past few years, Falun Gong had saved large sums of government medical payments for the country, the government agencies should have paid attention to the public security instead of making trouble for Falun Gong. However the orders from the premier across such a large country were withheld from the public by Jiang's regime. Falun Gong practitioners never knew anything about his positive support.
(3) After the incident of the Beijing TV Station, over a thousand practitioners went to the TV station to clarify the real situation to them. Eight Falun Gong representatives stated the facts with their own personal experience. They pointed out that Falun Gong has hundreds of beneficial effects without any harmful attributes, and they exposed the lies fabricated by He Zuoxiu. Their stories were genuine, vivid, touching, peaceful, and compassionate, which shocked the conscience of the authorities and the concerned staff members of the Beijing TV Station. They admitted that the TV program was the most severe mistake since the founding of the People's Republic of China. To correct their mistake, they broadcast programs that positively reported on Falun Gong. Furthermore, the persons involved in the incident at the TV station were suspended from work as a penalty.
(4) In December 1998, Falun Gong practitioners wrote a letter to Li Ruihuan, the Chairman of the People's Political Consultative Conference "regarding the public attacks against Falun Gong by the China Buddhist Association." The letter demanded that the perpetrators of the attacks be identified, held responsible for their actions, and punished accordingly. My husband and I participated in those efforts.
(5) During the same year, the State Sport General Administration requested the re-registration of Qigong organizations. Many practitioners went to the State Sport General Administration to present the real situation and clarify the truth. The Falun Dafa Assistance Center of Beijing and the practitioners from the CAS specifically invited professor Zhang from the Institute of Psychology in CAS, and a member of the qigong evaluation committee, to a meeting. They provided a large number of detailed cases showing the miraculous effects of Falun Gong. In October 1998, the State Sport General Administration assembled the special teams to investigate Falun Gong in Shenyang and Harbin. They videotaped many actual cases. The investigation team leaders said that the investigation confirmed the miraculous effects of Falun Gong, and that they were all very good in that the practice significantly benefited social stability and the development of culture and civility in China. These points must be fully emphasized. The investigation videotape was widely distributed among the general public. The miraculous stories of Falun Gong's health benefits and its development of moral values were very refreshing and exciting, and caused more people to cultivate Falun Gong. Falun Gong subsequently gained popularity.
(6) To assist the government in better understanding Falun Gong, practitioners from Beijing conducted a detailed and verifiable health survey of 10,000 practitioners. The report was sent to various agencies. The report established that "Falun Dafa is good!" with detailed and verifiable data and personal cultivation experiences.
(7) Evil Persecution Launched
After the failure of the Jiang regime's plots, they would not admit defeat. Instead, they launched an evil persecution. In 1999, the incidents of harassment of Falun Gong by public security agencies occurred more frequently. In Beijing, some Falun Gong practice sites were covered with dirt, sprayed with water, and some practitioners were driven away. In Xinjiang, Liaoning, Shandong, etc., Falun Gong practitioners were driven away unjustly, or subjected to harassment, including ransacking of their homes, detention, and extorting of money. The harassment became increasingly violent.
II. Truthful Depiction of the "April 25" Incident
1. Pre-planned Tianjin Incident - Police Violence
In April 1999, He Zuoxiu wrote an article in Youth Science Expo magazine circulated in Tianjin City. In this article he quoted cases that had been included in a previously broadcast Beijing TV program that had already been found to be false. Practitioners in Tianjin City went to Tianjin Teacher's College, the publisher. They clarified the truth to the editors and asked that a correction of the article be published. Practitioners in Beijing and in other parts of the country were also paying attention to the issue.
He Zuoxiu was an academician of CAS. Practitioners who then worked and studied at CAS telephoned him and asked to meet and speak with him. He rudely refused. On April 22, practitioners at CAS wrote a joint letter to the head of CAS to report He Zuoxiu's slanderous report of Falun Gong based on false evidence, which is against the truthful spirit of science.
On April 24, we learned that the publishers had planned to correct their mistake after practitioners had gone to the editors for many days and clarified the truth. Nevertheless, the publishing agency later suddenly changed their attitude and refused to write a correction.
On April 23, the Tianjin Public Security Bureau dispatched 300 SWAT police officers and arrested 45 Falun Gong practitioners. They beat the practitioners and injured many of them in the process. Other practitioners went to the Tianjin City government asking for release of the detained practitioners, but the city government officials told them that the Ministry of Public Security was involved, and only Beijing could authorize the release of the detained practitioners. The Tianjin police unexpectedly suggested that the practitioners go to Beijing to solve the problem!
The city government officials committed a major leak of a state secret by revealing the involvement of the Ministry of Public Security. It is also highly unusual for them to encourage the practitioners to go to Beijing to appeal to the central government. The city government officials would never have done any of this without orders from the central government.
The article He Zuoxiu wrote, the violence of the Tianjin police, and their suggestion for the practitioners to go to Beijing would not have happened without orders from higher up. When we look at the bigger picture, including the events that followed, they demonstrate that Jiang's regime meticulously planned to frame Falun Gong.
2. Falun Gong Practitioners Appeal in Beijing after Running out of Options
Practitioners in other parts of the country learned on April 24 about the sudden change of the Tianjin incident and thought, "We must rescue the detained practitioners in Tianjin, because if we don't do anything, the same thing will happen in Beijing, and all over China, and the safety of each one of us will be threatened."
The Tianjin incident took place because He Zuoxiu and Tianjin Teacher's College violated the government policy of the "Three No's" towards Qigong. The Tianjin police beat unarmed and peaceful practitioners, and illegally detained them, and the Tianjin government turned a deaf ear to the practitioners' appeals. We thought that the central government did not know the facts about Falun Gong very well, and that only some departments and local governments violated the "Three No's" policy. Who can override the Tianjin City government and police department? Naturally, we thought to appeal to the central government, the only entity that can solve this problem. We went to appeal at the Appeals Office, out of trust in the CCP Central Committee and the government.
We could not wait to rescue our fellow practitioners. After we learned about the arrest on April 24, on the next day, April 25, my husband and I took a bus and went to Xianmen Street, where the State Council Appeals Office is located. As we were getting close, we thought it might be too early and the office was not yet open. When we arrived, however, we were surprised to see both sides of the street filled with practitioners. Some practitioners from outside of Beijing had come the night before. We had never met these practitioners but we all came for the same reason.
With no other options, we resorted to exercise our right to appeal, a right endowed by the constitution of China, and we hoped that the government would give us a fair resolution. We had a simple goal and were not aware that the political villains group had set up a trap for us.
3. Practitioners were led into the trap
Many practitioners from other provinces had arrived in Beijing on the evening of April 24. Most of them took busses that went through many outposts and inspection stops, but police officers at those posts didn't try to stop them. With so many practitioners going to Beijing to appeal, some of them even asked the police where the Appeals Office was located. Some were near Xianmen Street and Zhongnanhai, yet the police didn't even disperse or report them. This is usually impossible in Beijing, a city under around-the-clock monitoring and control. An article later said, "The Ministry of Public Security knew everything that the practitioners did prior to their appeal in Beijing, contrary to the media reports in China that claimed they knew nothing." A CCTV video tape that was [later] used to attack Falun Gong shows where the practitioners would be entering Beijing, when and where they would get off the train, and what route they would take to get to the Appeals Office. Obviously, the police purposely let the practitioners into Beijing unhindered.
4. The police led the practitioners to Fuyou Street, creating the impression that practitioners were surrounding Zhongnanhai

When I arrived in the morning I saw many practitioners standing on the edge of the sidewalk of East-West Xianmen Street. The line of practitioners stretched westward to Xisi Dingzi Street, then it stretched southward and then eastward reaching Beihai where the State Council Appeals Office is located. The northwest gate and southwest gate (the front entrance) are located on Fuyou Street. Fuyou Street runs in south-north direction and is connected with Xianmen Street. There weren't any practitioners on Fuyou Street at that time. We wanted to petition at the Appeals Office, not surround Zhongnanhai.
When I looked up, I saw police officers leading practitioners at the east end of Xianmen Street walking southbound toward Fuyou Street. I was somewhat surprised and thought it strange, but I didn't think too much of it then. Falun Gong has no organization and there is no one to give orders. The practitioners all listened to the police. They went wherever the police wanted them to go and stood wherever the police wanted them to stand. I followed the group and walked southward toward Fuyou Street. By then I saw another group of police leading practitioners walking northbound from Changan Street toward Fuyou Street. After the two groups converged, the police told us to stand on the sidewalk west of Fuyou Street. We voluntarily stood in three rows to avoid blocking the walkway, the sidewalk and the grass. The wall and gate of Zhongnanhai were on the east side of the street where there were no practitioners. I stood right across the street from the southwest gate of Zhongnanhai. Because there were 10,000 practitioners, Changan Street, Xisi, Xidan, Beihai and the alleyways were all filled with practitioners. The police led us to form the appearance of surrounding Zhongnanhai. The practitioners were too unsuspecting and didn't realize that they were led into a trap set by the political villains group.
5. Martial Law Declared and Traffic was Blocked, Attempting to Frame Falun Gong

It was the peak morning hour in Beijing, and many people and cars were passing by. Because the practitioners stood on the edge of the street, the traffic was flowing freely and was in no way obstructed. And yet, after leading the practitioners to Fuyou Street, the police declared martial law at around 8:00 a.m. and didn't allow cars or bikes to enter the street. They let the pedestrians leave but not enter the street. Traffic was cut off as a result. It was not because of the practitioners' peaceful appeal as claimed by the Chinese government.
6. The Righteous and the Evil
We stayed away from entrances to shops, government offices and residential buildings. We didn't have any slogans or banners. We didn't make any noise or cause any disturbance. We didn't get excited and we didn't complain. We quietly read the book Zhuan Falun, hoping to tell the truth to the central government. We hoped for a just solution and the release of detained Tianjin practitioners.
Among the practitioners were elderly people, young children, and pregnant women near their term. They held each other and waited quietly. We were very orderly because of the power of Dafa. The Jiang group later claimed that the practitioners disrupted the life of government offices and of Beijing citizens, which was a complete fabrication.
After martial law was declared, many police cars parked on the east side of Fuyou Street, and a group of armed police gathered on the west side of the street. They stood face-to-face with the practitioners. A van kept driving back and forth. Inside the van a person carrying a video recorder poked his head out and recorded all of us, not missing a single person. We all knew this tape was going to be used to retaliate against us. On the street, there were no other people, only uniformed police officers and police cars, as well as un-identified plainclothes police officers. No one was allowed to enter the street without a permit, and no outside media were present. The atmosphere was intense and filled with terror. It was suffocating, and it seemed that the situation would explode at any minute.
7. The Former Premier, Zhu Rongji, Received Falun Gong Practitioners
After premier Zhu Rongji went to work at 8:00 a.m., he came out from Zhongnanhai through the main entrance (the southwest gate) and went across the street to receive the practitioners. After he learned what the practitioners were appealing for, he asked them to send representatives to Zhongnanhai to appeal. The practitioners there didn't know each other. They had neither an organization nor a representative. Three practitioners volunteered to go into Zhongnanhai with Zhu. One of the practitioners, Shi Caidong, was a doctoral student in the Physics Department at CAS. These practitioners went in with Zhu and related to the person in charge of the Appeals Office what they wanted the central government to know. The main points were: to release the arrested practitioners in Tianjin City, to allow open publication of the book Zhuan Falun, and to give Falun Gong practitioners a just and legal environment in which to practice. The person in charge of the Appeals Office didn't think they were representatives and asked Shi Caidong to go and get the practitioner who was in charge. Shi didn't know what else to do, so he asked a veteran practitioner to go in. I met Shi after he left Zhongnanhai. He told me what happened, and especially that Premier Zhu had previously given orders that resolved practitioners' appeals. However, some CCP officials withheld the orders, and hence the practitioner never knew that the orders had already been given. Because the practitioners' requests were not resolved yet and the practitioners in Tianjin were still not released at the time, we could not leave and kept on waiting quietly.
In the afternoon, an official from the State Council asked the practitioners who organized Falun Gong practice sites in Beijing to go into Zhongnanhai to appeal. Thus, Li Chang, Wang Zhiwen, Yu Changxin, Hao Jiafeng, and one other practitioner went in. Per practitioners' request, besides the person in charge of the Appeals Office, officials in charge of what happened in Tianjin and Beijing were also there. We continued waiting outside quietly.
8. "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance" Dissolved a Confrontation with Armed Police
Initially the armed police were serious and nervous, like they were facing an enemy. They were straight-faced and stood still in front of the practitioners, staring at them. The practitioners were kind and nice to them. Practitioners instinctively stayed in order. Whoever stepped out of the area designated by the police for the practitioners would step back immediately. Some practitioners volunteered to collect garbage among practitioners. The practitioners in the front just stood there and seldom took turns sitting or resting from morning to night. My husband was in his 60s and he stood there from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. without eating, drinking or using the restroom, and he was still very energetic. That was unbelievable. The armed police quickly realized that they didn't have to do anything because the practitioners were harmless. The police started to look around and talk. They were all youngsters but they quickly got tired and had to change shifts constantly, unlike the old Falun Gong practitioners who stood there all day long. The police walked back and forth and eventually they went to the east side and sat down to drink water and chat. Later they started conversations with practitioners and had smiles on their faces. The confrontation was dissolved. At night, some uniformed and plainclothes officers came among the practitioners to talk and asked why we were there and why we practiced Falun Gong. Regardless of their identity and purpose, we told them the truth. Some of them understood and admired us.
9. The Undercurrent
Among the peaceful, quiet line of practitioners, there was an undercurrent of something wrong. Every now and then there would be some messages passed down the line. The line was so long that no one knew who passed down the message or why. We could only judge based on the Fa whether to pass the message on or not. Some people with bad intentions tried to stir up practitioners' emotions and affect the tidiness of the line. They passed things like "Don't wear the Falun emblem, pass it down!" "Don't read Zhuan Falun, pass it down!" "The practitioners who are lawyers should leave the line now and gather in the east side, pass it down!" I felt there was something fishy in these statements. Sometimes there were deceptive messages intending to stir up trouble. Some suspicious people with cell phones in their hands were moving among the practitioners. However, Falun Gong had no organization and did not just listen to anyone. Falun Gong practitioners viewed the Fa as their Teacher. So it was hard to agitate practitioners' emotions and mess up the line.
10. He Zuoxiu and Sima Nan Appeared at Zhongnanhai
Around noon that day, I saw He Zuoxiu, the person who stirred up the "April 25" incident, in front of Zhongnanhai. He Zuoxiu stayed at the front gate for over 20 minutes. Sima Nan was also allowed to appear at the scene that day. Everyone knew that He Zuoxiu and Sima Nan had attacked Falun Gong. The scheme was meant to provoke practitioners' anger and cause chaos so the police could suppress the "violent group." But Falun gong practitioners didn't get angry or fight. An eye for an eye is not a practitioner's nature. No one moved upon seeing He Zuoxiu and Sima Nan. Thus this scheme failed.
11. The Ill Intention in the Announcement
At around 2:00 p.m., the police were giving out printed flyers to practitioners. Some practitioners wouldn't take them and some returned them to the police after reading them. The announcement on the flyer said that Falun Gong practitioners were not allowed to gather at Zhongnanhai and should immediately disperse, otherwise the practitioners would be responsible for the consequences. The threat was out. At that time, the five practitioner-representatives were still in the Appeals Office and the arrested Tianjin practitioners had not been released, so we didn't leave. The practitioners didn't move. The officers looked nervous. Cars and people on the streets were being transferred around and the garrison was relieved. We all felt something was going to happen.
In the afternoon, there were plainclothes officers at the Beijing Train Station. They pretended to be Falun Gong practitioners and were picking up those who arrived at the train station to bring them to the Appeals Office. A group of practitioners from outside Beijing was about to get into the police car. Someone sensed something was wrong and refused to get in. The police started to beat the practitioners, arrested a large number of them, and locked them up. One of the practitioners escaped and that was when we learned that the CCP had started arresting practitioners.
One practitioner had a family member who worked at the Zhongnanhai Guarding Troop. That evening this practitioner received an emergency phone call from home saying that he should go home right away. Otherwise his life would be at risk! The Jiang regime was ready to kill. At that moment, any disturbance or excuse would start a bloody suppression. Later we learned that Jiang Zemin hid in a bulletproof car during the day and visited the scene.
The Falun Gong practitioners were rational and peaceful from the beginning to the end no matter what happened. "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" prevented the killing and Jiang's regime didn't have an excuse to take action at that time.
12. The April 25 Incident Was Resolved with Benevolence
Under former Premier Zhu Rongji's handling, that afternoon we heard that some practitioners in Tianjin were released. By evening, all of the practitioners were released. The five practitioners were still in Zhongnanhai. No one knew whether they were safe, and we were worried that they would be detained. We didn't move because we needed to see them come out.
After 9:00 p.m., the five practitioners came out of Zhongnanhai and asked the practitioners to leave. It was dark and the line was very long. Some practitioners wouldn't leave because they didn't know whether the message passed down was true or not. After this unusual day, so many things happened. Practitioners would not listen to just any message, as they didn't want to be misled. Li Chang went to the crowd in person and told the practitioners to leave. Many people knew Li and hence they knew that the appeal had gone to the central government, the practitioners in Tianjin were released, and the five practitioners in the Appeals Office had left. The incident was resolved benevolently, and those people in charge even agreed to send representatives to the Yongdingmen Appeals Office to solve any unsettled issues. Falun Gong practitioners were reasonable and left immediately. Fuyou Street is not a big street but over 10,000 people left in a short time. That was unbelievable. There was no noise, no crash, and no traffic jam. Not even a piece of paper was left on the ground. A female officer pointed at the place where the practitioners had gathered, and said to other police officers, "See, this is virtue!"
III. The "April 25" Incident Shocked the World
Over ten thousand Falun Gong practitioners peacefully appealed based on their civil rights, and received a peaceful solution. This shocked the world and won international admiration. This incident showed the beauty of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" to the world and Falun Gong went global.
The "April 25" incident was resolved, but the acts of the Falun Gong practitioners made Jiang Zemin extremely jealous and afraid. Jiang's regime defamed the peaceful appeal as "beleaguering Zhongnanhai," "anti-government," "destroying social stability," and "political ill-intention." These were all tricks to eliminate Falun Gong and spread propaganda against Dafa. The evil CCP and Jiang Zemin used each other and declared they must "defeat Falun Gong." Jiang's regime started to openly suppress Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. The CCP put its nine evil elements (evilness, deception, instigation, fighting, robbery, brazenness, spying, eliminating, and control) into full play. The CCP committed a crime that the universe cannot forgive and it is destined to be eliminated by gods. Benevolent people should quickly awaken and not listen to the CCP's lies.
(Clearwisdom.net) Various everyday mentalities, which I may or may not be aware of, are sometimes very strong during my truth-clarification efforts. I often fail to realize their existence.
For example, I once gave a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party to a non-practitioner. After he finished reading three of the nine commentaries, he developed a negative attitude. He asked me to stop giving him such information. I sensed that there existed two sides of him. On the one hand, he felt that what the Nine Commentaries say is correct and he wanted to read it. On the other hand, he was afraid and unwilling to give up what he previously believed, which resulted from various influences from the Party (he has been a CCP member for a long time).
I remembered that he had earlier showed a very good understanding when he was told the truth about Jiang's persecution of Dafa, and he had expressed his sympathy. But once the Party itself was implicated, he felt that he could not accept it. He felt that since people's living standards in China have improved and people were living pretty well, it is improper to talk about the CCP this way. I knew that it was CCP elements that were affecting him. He said, "These must be from Taiwan." I replied, "This is not from Taiwan," as I was worried that he would connect us again with Taiwan. Afterwards, when I thought about this issue, I realized that the mentality of being worried about politics was still in play in my mind. I had used an everyday person's mentality to view truth-clarification. The CCP will say that we are engaging in politics no matter what we are doing. Additionally, I had another wrong view. That is, I always thought that it was because the Chinese government did not understand us that the persecution occurred. Only now have I realized that the CCP has understood us very well ever since the very beginning. It knows that we are good people. It is just because it is evil that it wants to persecute kind people.
When I clarify the truth, non-practitioners can often easily accept my words if I talk about the persecution. However, once I mention the Nine Commentaries, many people often think that we are engaging in politics; it is indeed very difficult. But when I remembered Master saying that the old cosmic elements that remained to be rectified during the Fa-rectification are from even higher levels, I had a better understanding of the issue. Because touching these old elements means rectifying what is at even higher levels in the cosmos, talking about the Nine Commentaries with non-practitioners is, of course, much more difficult than talking about the persecution. At times, I often felt a little agitated after I realized that it was so difficult to inform them about these issues. As a result, what I said sounded like I was arguing, whether I realized it or not. Later, when I thought about this issue, I realized that I had become bogged down within a specific matter. Master told us that when we encounter a conflict, we should not get bogged down within it,
"don't evaluate the matter in isolation and within the specific matter. Jump out of it and take a careful look at it, see if it's in keeping with Zhen-Shan-Ren." ("Teaching the Fa at a New York Meeting" in Falun Buddha Fa - Lectures in the United States)
In fact, it was the case that during truth-clarification, my ordinary mentality of wanting to clearly explain a specific matter took over and I did not consider whether people were able to understand me. Letting people know the truth is not achieved through ordinary means or arguments, but by a Dafa practitioner's righteous thoughts. During the truth-clarification, I even mentioned to non-practitioners some facts or historic events that even I myself did not understand well, or I drew some conclusions based on my partial understanding; so when they argued with me, I had nothing to say. The demons had utilized our human mentalities to keep our tongues in check.
This kind of human mentality, which we may or may not notice, will sometimes come up during our truth-clarification. These ordinary, degenerate notions often play a rather large negative role. One person said, "If you keep doing it this way (that is, our spreading the Nine Commentaries), you might not be given just several years of sentence if you are caught." (I had been detained by the authorities for several years) I said, "That is impossible, as it will collapse soon!" The person said, "Why is it impossible? Is it because it is not likely they will try to catch you or because it is impossible for them to catch you?" With an agitated mind, I had no words to respond. After pondering the issue, I realized that it was my human mentalities that were still at work. I do not have to make non-practitioners understand something or come to help us, and I do not have to vent our discontent about the crimes of the CCP. Instead, we are to save people who have been deceived and poisoned by the evil. Our righteous thoughts are based on that while clarifying the truth. We should never speak from our own perspectives.
Our attachment to the time when the Fa-rectification ends is another attachment we hold. It is not just an attachment to time. It is a strong human mentality. When we clarify the truth, we often get attached to the outcome. Although the result is very important, our own improvement is what's most critical. When we encounter the vicious persecution or face pressure, we hope that the tribulations will end soon. Regarding those Dafa practitioners who have not stepped forward to participate in the Fa-rectification, and then rush to join in the Fa-rectification period cultivation practice to avoid being left out (of course, they should hurry to come out to validate Dafa), they fail to realize that a Dafa practitioner's mission is to validate the Fa. We exist to finish the mission, and we do not come out just for the sake of coming out. Coming out to validate the Fa is our responsibility. As Dafa practitioners who have cultivated themselves in society, we are walking a path to become divine beings, so how could we just want to quickly leave the ordinary world? Master has said that Dafa practitioner's righteous thoughts are omnipotent, and that it is only because we still possess ordinary mentalities that the old elements in the cosmos can still take advantage of us. Therefore, we still need to break through our own human mentalities, the final gaps, where the old cosmos' elements still exist. Consequently, we can still feel the pressure and encounter difficulties during the Fa-rectification, and all of these obstacles are the results of the interference of the old cosmic elements. Eliminating these old elements reflect the mighty virtues of Dafa practitioners. So we cannot hold human mentalities while we undertake all of our Fa-rectification activities. Otherwise, the results will usually be contrary to what we expect.
What is our purpose for hoping that the Fa-rectification will end soon? Does this simply reflect our mentality of seeking comfort and wanting to go to heaven now? When we see the persecution occurring, why do we become scared? Why do we feel the pressure? Aren't all these responses due to our human mentalities, wishes, and notions? Doesn't our hoping that the persecution will end soon reflect our human mentality of wanting to use an external force to end the persecution?
"If you do not want to change your human state and rationally rise to a true understanding of Dafa, you will miss the opportunity. If you do not change the human logic that you, as an ordinary human, have formed deep in your bones over thousands of years, you will be unable to break away from this superficial human shell and reach Consummation. You cannot always count on me to eliminate karma for you while you fail to truly progress in comprehending the Fa and rise above human understandings and notions. Your ways of thinking, your understanding, and your appreciation towards me and Dafa are the product of ordinary human thinking. But what I'm teaching you is in fact moving beyond ordinary humans to a rational, true understanding of Dafa!"
"In practicing cultivation, you are not making real, solid progress on your own, which would effect great, fundamental changes internally. Instead, you rely on my power and take advantage of powerful external factors. This can never transform your human nature into Buddha-nature." ("Cautionary Advice" in Essentials for Further Advancement)
If we were truly at the status of a god, would we want to leave the human world as soon as possible when we see countless beings waiting for salvation and being poisoned by evil? The moment when the Fa rectifies the human world will not come if we are simply waiting and counting on someone else.
Teacher said, "Who would you count on? All the beings are counting on you!" ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.")
The cultivation path created by Dafa through which a human becomes a divine being never existed before. Our cultivation practice is the process of taking such a path, and we have to fulfill our prehistoric oath in this human world. We have to purify ourselves and our own worlds in the cosmos. In other words, our worlds cannot exist in the new cosmos if we do not eliminate all the old factors. Did we achieve the complete selflessness required by Dafa? Without this environment in the human world, how could we take the path that leads to becoming a divine being, how could we validate the Fa, how could we save sentient beings, how could we build our mighty virtue as Dafa disciples?
I believe that a god would not be attached to any given world. Rather a god would see validating the Fa and fulfilling his responsibility as the top priority. Being in the human world or not has no significance for a god, except for the Fa and saving sentient beings. It is all right for a human being to wish to leave this dirty world, but such a wish could be a strong attachment for a Dafa disciple who has more important responsibilities. This is because we came to change the cosmos. We came to save all beings. As disciples of the new cosmos, we should be completely selfless. Master told us more than once that we came here not only for our personal Consummation:
"As you already know, Dafa disciples have gone through the process of Consummation, and history today has bestowed upon Dafa disciples an even greater responsibility: not your own liberation and Consummation, but saving more sentient beings. That's why you deserve to be Dafa disciples." ("Teaching and Explaining the Fa at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference
In addition, we cannot leave this human world by any human methods, we have to achieve the levels we do during the process of validating Dafa. We must meet the higher standards of Fa-rectification cultivation. This cannot be achieved by simply doing more work. The reason we feel that it is difficult to clarify the truth to people is because we still have many human attachments and notions. The key is not whether people accept our view, rather it is whether we keep ourselves righteous. Our righteous thoughts can change anything, and this is not something human efforts could achieve. On the contrary, the more human effort we put forth, the harder it is for people to understand the truth. When I imagine that people may react in this way or that way, it often turns out that they react exactly as I imagine. Everything is caused by our own factors.
This human world is quite harsh for a cultivator, and it is getting worse as we cultivate further away from ordinary people. Looking back at my cultivation path over the past years: I was imprisoned for validating the Fa, my wife had affairs, I lost my job and suffered financial difficulties, other people did not understand me, and many times I felt death would be much easier than living. Though these were all caused by the old forces' persecution, I must have had omissions that the old forces took advantage of. It was still my own problem. Because we are emerging from the old cosmos, the old factors have been a part of us, and we will follow the path arranged by the old forces if we do not strictly follow the Fa. Dafa cultivation is different than ordinary cultivation: any omission could be fatal.
Actually, the attachment to time is just a phenomenon on the surface. The true reason behind it is that some practitioners are relying on Master's power and want to take advantage of the powerful external factors to overcome all tribulations and achieve Consummation. This is a misunderstanding of the Fa. My understanding is that Consummation is not a human concept that "I want to achieve Consummation;" instead, it is the great Benevolence that can encompass everything and consummate everything, which manifests when one achieves the complete selflessness required by the Fa. Therefore, we will never achieve Consummation without benevolence to all beings. Master and Dafa are consummating everything, which is truly the Buddha's boundless grace to numerous beings in the old cosmos. The cosmos will not be rectified by our waiting, though Dafa could do anything. Without our validation of the Fa, it is not Fa-rectification; rather it would be Master recreating everything.
I recently saw some problems among our local fellow practitioners regarding withdrawal from the CCP. There were two situations. One is that some have been passive about this issue and have not done anything about it. The other is that some eagerly want to withdraw but do not dare to use their real names out of safety concerns (there have been different opinions on this second issue among fellow practitioners).
Practitioners in the first situation fell into old traps again, like Master said,
"You cannot always rely on me to bring you up to a higher level while you, yourself do not move. Only after the Fa is explicitly stated do you make a move. If it is not taught clearly, you do not move, or move backward. I cannot recognize such behavior as cultivation practice." ("Digging Out the Roots" from Essentials for Further Advancement)
Master would not acknowledge such a situation as cultivation. Actually, Master has already set an example for us by publishing a withdrawal from the Communist Youth League on the internet and the article "Turning the Wheel Towards the Human World." As Dafa disciples we should unconditionally follow Master. Why wouldn't we? Isn't this an opportunity to show Dafa disciples' power as a whole body, an opportunity to show the Fa's mighty virtue in the human world? Currently over one million people have withdrawn from the CCP, yet this number is still very small compared to the one hundred million practitioners in China. Though many posted their withdrawal statements on a public board rather than on the internet, the amount is still too small. Practitioners in the second situation seemed to be validating the Fa, but, actually, they are validating themselves. How should fellow practitioners treat this issue? My personal understanding is that we are saving people; we need to lead people by eliminating the control of the evil specter. Our purpose is to completely eliminate the evil from the cosmos; this is clearly validating the Fa. Master has done it, why can't we follow? If Master did not do it, would we ever do it?
For a long time I thought that pointing out fellow practitioners' mistakes was being responsible to the Fa, yet very rarely did I see my own factors in them. Master told us a long time ago that
"...when two people have friction between each other, each one should examine him or herself. Not only should the two people with the friction examine themselves, but also the bystanders who happen to observe the incident should. That's when you'll really improve by leaps and bounds." (Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Singapore,)
My understanding is that when we see others' shortcomings, they are actually our own shortcomings. Pointing them out to others is actually pointing them out to ourselves. Moreover, we should focus on whether it is right or wrong from the Fa's standpoint, not from any individual's thinking of what is right or wrong. The most important thing is for our Dafa practitioners to improve together.
Buddha's light illuminates everywhere,
Propriety and justice are perfected and illuminated.
Together, wholeheartedly strive upward,
The path ahead is bright."

(Clearwisdom.net) For a long period of time, we were sorting out some underlying concerns regarding a project that I'm involved in. They now have been resolved. Participating in the process, I observed some problems. To be responsible to Falun Dafa and my personal cultivation, I am hereby bringing them to my fellow practitioners attention. The challenges faced in this particular project are no doubt similar to those faced in other truth clarification projects, so I hope we might all benefit from this sharing.
1. Treating the individual and not the Fa as teacher
Some fellow practitioners, including those in leadership positions, have the following understanding regarding the functioning of the project. They believe that since all staff members are volunteer practitioners, rules are unnecessary, and plans and work details were not essential. The commonly held belief was that since the work was related to Dafa, control should be at a minimum, and everyday people's organizational structure was not to be used. Such understanding created a paradigm. A person in charge did not hold responsibility and those doing the work did not have any authority.
Such belief is far from what Teacher has taught as to how practitioners should treat their work and conduct themselves. (Teacher mentioned many times in Zhuan Falun and other lectures about the correct attitude of a practitioner toward his/her work.) Therefore, such an organization could not develop a spirit of being proactive and organized. Yet, there were some practitioners who recommended that we should pay attention to details, be responsible, and have professional attitudes. Alas, they were accused of not having strong righteous thoughts or not having studied the Fa diligently. Anyone, who continued to hold and share such opinion, was excluded from further participation in project planning.
Practitioners who had professional backgrounds in the project field were troubled and
distressed, because the project could not position itself in the market. They could not make
others understand what media content would be acceptable to the general public.
The decision maker often selected the wrong plan.
As time passed and mistakes
mounted, those with responsibility became increasingly less willing to try
new plans. Professionals in the field, even those in an ordinary society,
know that such an undertaking is bound to fail. Thus, the team was unable to establish
overall objectives and work plans. They could not see the big picture, could not
accept different opinions, and were unable to create a cohesive structure and
team environment.
Given this, the project did not have any structure, operational mechanism or guiding rules. Everything was done ad hoc, based on the understanding of the individual. If there was a misunderstanding, those with opposing views would no longer be accepted as members of the team. Everything kept changing, based on the understanding of the particular individual in charge. Practitioners treated the individuals as teacher instead of adhering to the Fa. At one time, practitioners from throughout Taiwan gathered to exchange their experiences until late at night. Yet, that group's final decision was vetoed by a person in charge who did not participate in the whole process of the experience sharing. Such situations occurred so often that many practitioners felt the experience sharing was a waste of time and no longer wanted to participate.
The people in charge refused to look inward. Instead, they held the opinion that practitioners who brought up the issue were trouble makers and uncooperative. Besides, some practitioners regarded those in charge as teacher and thus supported only their particular actions.
I'm discussing this issue, as in my personal opinion, all practitioners must recognize their shortcomings, face them squarely and correct them. It is the responsibility of every practitioner. One should not rely on the practitioners in charge, as this would increase the burden and pressure on those practitioners. I hope everyone will remind each other about the importance of regarding the Fa as teacher.
2. Non-Expert Leading Experts
If a leader or coordinator is not familiar with the environment and nature of the work responsibility and unclear about the actual situation of similar businesses in everyday society, the practitioners working on the project would have difficulties succeeding. Often, when activities were organized, many people and resources were mobilized. Yet, the results turned out the opposite from what was hoped for, because of not taking in account everyday people's thinking. Some suggestions from fellow practitioners fell to the wayside because the coordinators did not review or understand them. As time passed, many practitioners felt physically and mentally exhausted. Yet, many practitioners were sympathetic and admired those who were involved with the project. But, some practitioners who wanted to lend a hand felt helpless and left after trying for quite some time. Then once in a while, the project called for help because it was shorthanded. Some practitioners were still willing to help, but the problems continued.
3. Difference in Understanding High Standard versus Responsibility
The existence of every Dafa practitioner is to assist Teacher to rectify the Fa. Our skills learned in everyday society should also serve the purpose of the Fa-rectification. Those skills were gained over a long period of time. Yet, a commonly held belief by those involved with the project is that the everyday people's skills of editing and advertising sales are not important, that the priority should be given to truth clarification. Therefore, little importance was given to the actual content of our project's final product, and whether it was suitable and could be understood by the general public. Also, the emphasis was not on getting an advertising contract signed during negotiations, it was just on truth clarification. This is far from the requirement by Teacher that we should consider others before ourselves.
Such methods only achieve isolation from everyday society. If one uses higher realm principles to run a media organization, one would not be successful in ordinary society. Such principles often do not achieve the purpose of the plan. It also affected many new practitioners negatively. As a result, many members of the public regard the project as a "Falun Gong project." Instead of using our product to clarify the truth, we now have to clarify the truth about our company first. This became a heavy burden and was not very effective.
Please think about it, if Teacher arranged for every practitioner to obtain the Fa, then there must be some practitioners who can understand everyday people better and can contribute to the Fa in this manner. I once met a practitioner who talks more like an everyday person than most other practitioners. Therefore, he could cover entertainment news very well. If he did not pay attention to the popular topics in everyday society and did not understand them, he would not be able to do such an assignment successfully.
The question is, can we more deeply come to understand the Fa as one body, and then carry it out in practice? Practitioners who studied the Fa well over a long period of time and hold a good understanding should provide general direction and content control to practitioners with professional skills. But, they should empower those skilled practitioners to fully utilize their capabilities. Don't be afraid that they make mistakes. Such fear is also an attachment to eliminate.
Of course no matter how long a practitioner has studied the Fa, the management team of the project should take responsibility for the project's success or failure. They should set up methods and establish accountability. The responsibility and accountability should be clear and a person's ability should be considered when handing out assignments. Those practitioners who don't have the skills and abilities should be honest with themselves. When we feel we cannot to the job, we should immediately ask for help from others. We should ask those with the skills to do the job.
Inappropriate actions by a coordinator will have a tremendous impact on new practitioners. Such actions tend to confuse rather than help the new practitioners in the process. They would not have the opportunity to witness the Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance principles in action, and thus will not be able to achieve positive and righteous thoughts about Falun Dafa. Achieving such behavior would help them to become more diligent in their personal cultivation.
Actually, such an environment is not only healthy for new practitioners, as many veteran practitioners do not understand how do handle everything correctly either. The quality of being modest and holding respect for others cannot be put aside, especially when we are doing very sacred and meaningful work. What is the spirit of our media? What should be the effect of our media on society? Whether we can do and think everything based on Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance is the key to whether we can do everything righteously. Only then can a positive outcome be achieved.
If one sees practicing the principles of Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance as an ideal situation and lectures others regarding its value, or if one believes that one is doing well in ones cultivation and everything is just fine, and therefore one becomes self complacent, one may ignore the importance of the details of the work at hand. One then does not examine the work with an eye to the needs of society and the public. If one is in self-delusion, no matter what one does or how hard one tries, it would be no more than completing tasks superficially.
In Closing
Perhaps some practitioners will think that what I'm discussing is no more than my past understanding. However, I'm bringing them up now, because the meda we're involved in are facing tremendous pressure from many sources. Recognizing the problems, I am deeply troubled, yet I don't know how to facilitate the process. Therefore, I want to share my thoughts with everyone.
I believe that there are two major issues we need to address. First, we should accomplish what we want to achieve in this realm according to the principles of this realm. Secondly, I sincerely wish that coordinators would learn to rely, encourage and help those practitioners with professional skills to accomplish their tasks without too much control, other than general guidelines, and adherence to the spirit the Fa-rectification period. As to the method to be used for the task in everyday society, restrictions should be held at a minimum. If we can achieve this, the results would be within the Fa, and everyday people can accept it.
Spirit and matter are one. Using the ability to think about objectives, planning ahead concerning resources, and timing everything accordingly, we exhibit responsibility and adherence to the requirements of the Fa. It would also show respect towards practitioners and lay the groundwork and training opportunities for those in the public who may want to accept Dafa.
Once our xinxing achieved the requirements of the Fa, Teacher would naturally arrange everything for us and the process will be smooth.
If during the planning we could treat everybody and everything with Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance, and truly consider others first and become selfless, the resulting strategy will achieve good results, accomplished by compassionate beings. If every plan can reach such a goal, everything would be accomplished successfully.
Of course, the execution of the plan would still be difficult and require hard work on the part of all, but that is why it would be precious to a cultivator, since during such a process one could eliminate many human notions and karma. One will form one body with other practitioners, and thus find more people with pre-destined relationships to Dafa. This is why we have reporters stationed in many countries and cities around the world. Only when we are deeply connected to the local community can we make friends with the locals, clarify the truth in depth and bring out people's good thoughts. They may even help practitioners to spread the truth, and that effect would be very powerful, resulting in more people being saved. Such results could be achieved by utilizing ordinary peoples skills to accomplish the task at hand.

(Clearwidsom.net) The current educational system in China is a deviated education system which primarily emphasizes exams. A student has to pass all kinds of entrance exams to enter a junior high school, a high school or a college. After graduating from college one even has to take exams and score well to get a good job. Consequently, the interpersonal conflict between different parents, different classes and schools grows more severe day by day. Especially during recent years, because of the fierce competition for employment, the load a student has to carry is increasingly so heavy that they can hardly bear it. On the weekends, when most urban students are already fully occupied by studying and doing homework, they still have to find spare time to go to their private classes to learn music, calligraphy, painting, etc. Both students and their parents feel exhausted because they are so involved in these activities.
On top of all this, young practitioners have to do the exercises and study the Fa. The pressure on them is even higher than on the ordinary students. If the young practitioners are trying to live up to the expectations of ordinary society, they then might have to compromise. They might get less chance to do the exercises or to study the Fa. If the parents (or the grandparents) expect their children (or grandchildren) to have bright futures (such as to achieve some high positions in the future or just to be outstanding in their school studies) the parents usually put a lot of pressure on their children. This often backfires: these children cannot get good grades because of the pressure.
Under such dual pressure, these young practitioners may stop doing the exercises and studying the Fa every now and then or even stop completely. This is really a pity.
Some possible causes of these problems might be, first, atheism. Influenced by atheism, some young practitioners may be half-believing and half-doubting their own powers and thereby, restraining their own god-side. Secondly, there could be a problem due to their attachment to get good grades in school. Wherever there is an attachment, there is a loophole. It is, therefore, easy to be interfered with by the dark minions. Consequently, the false phenomenon of regressing in their school studies could develop, and as a result, they might doubt the Fa and waver in their righteous thoughts and belief in Teacher and the Fa. These problems are never accidental. Because the purpose of the old forces is to destroy, the old forces interfere by using the attachments of the young practitioners and their parents with the attempt to drag them down and let them nullify all of the previous efforts.
Last year some parents, under the influence of their attachments to sentimentality, felt that it was too much for their children to study so hard and thereby developed a misguided mercy, and did not encourage their children to do the exercises and to study the Fa. Gradually, the young practitioners began lapsing in their practice of Dafa. Sometimes, the parents felt helpless, seeing their young practitioners were sliding backwards. Gradually these parents even decided to let their young practitioners give up practicing Falun Dafa altogether. We have to remember that doing the exercises is the best way to get rested and relaxed, and we can absolutely find time in our day to do the exercises and study the Fa and eventually balance our school studies and practicing Falun Dafa. Practitioners are supernormal. A non-practitioner usually sleeps about eight hours a day while a practitioner may sleep about five to six hours or three to four hours. Some even sleep only two to three hours and still feel energetic during the daytime.
The destiny of a young practitioner is re-arranged by our Teacher once he/she chooses to cultivate. Speaking from the Fa, a practitioner is above the ordinary. Through studying the Fa and doing the exercises, a young practitioner can become more intelligent. Many young practitioners do well in school very easily. These situations are very common among young practitioners.
These young practitioners usually cultivate through the help of their parents. The cultivation status of the parents influences these young practitioners a lot. Their daily speech and behaviors could change and influence their young practitioners unobtrusively and imperceptibly. The young practitioners' cultivation status also reflects whether their parents are diligent or not. To cultivate through the guidance of the parents is also a way to practice and the young practitioners can raise their level by this way of practice. "All lives came for this Fa." (Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Washington DC Fa Conference) Many young practitioners came from very high levels. Teacher always takes care of these young practitioners. In many Fa conferences, Teacher mentioned many times about how to deal with the problems of young practitioners' cultivation and school studies. Therefore, their parents have really undertaken a great responsibility to guide their young practitioners well and should not lower their guard at all.
In order to guide the young practitioners to do well in the course of their cultivation, the parents have to set good examples by their own actions. The parents have to take the lead by studying the Fa diligently, because the Fa can rectify everything and the Fa can harmonize everything. Whenever encountering any trouble, the parents should enlighten according to the Fa to eliminate the interference and to develop righteous thoughts and righteous belief. They must be diligent together, rise up together with the young practitioners and assimilate in the Fa always. The young practitioners then will be wiser, healthier and better looking, and positively will become the lives of the new universe.
(Clearwisdom.net) For six years, the evil party has deprived our Falun Gong practitioners' right of freedom of belief and being human beings. Facing the pressure, we have clarified the truth and saved people, right up to today.
In early 2000, thousands of flyers were posted in our province in just one night. The security bureau sent out plainclothes policemen everywhere to abduct Falun Gong practitioners with no legal procedures. Though I was over 80 years old, I was also seized by the plainclothes policemen for interrogation. They asked me for the leader's name and the source of the flyers. After having achieved nothing, they threatened me that I would be sent to a forced labor camp and sentenced to prison. I said to them: "Falun Gong is good, with countless benefits and no harm at all. It is illegal that you kidnapped me today." Then they found an excuse to release me. With dignity, I returned home.
In late 2000, I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. I was going to tell the government officials that Falun Gong is good and must not be persecuted. To my surprise, our province's agents in the Beijing Office arrested me before I had any chance to speak. They extorted 5,000 yuan from me. A few days later, I was abducted again and was sent to a brainwashing center.
In the brainwashing center, a chief of the local Political and Legislative Affairs Committee tried to force me to give up my belief. I said: "We just want to be good people and do good things. What law have we violated? Falun Gong is a cultivation (self-improvement) practice. We are not against the government. We are not interested in politics. The charges that you have listed against me have nothing to do with me."
The planned three-month-long brainwashing program only lasted a little over 20 days and closed hastily. Again, I returned home with dignity.
For several years, the evil persons tried every means to block the circulation of Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. However, I was always able to mail the materials and Master's new articles back to my hometown promptly.
I told the family members of imprisoned practitioners how they had suffered in the persecution. During the process, I thought: "If I can write down the cases and mail the articles to the Minghui/Clearwisdom website, they will have a great effect in exposing the vicious persecution." However, I hesitated to write anything since I have not read many books. Besides, I am old and have a poor memory. Writing is tough for me. But, I thought again: "As a Dafa practitioner, I should not have the notion that I am too old. I must break though the obstacles. As long as I improve myself within Fa, I will have wisdom and strength."
I mustered up the courage to pick up a pen and started to write. I tore up the incomprehensible paragraphs and re-wrote them. A kind fellow practitioner helped me in my writing. I usually wrote articles late at night and spent many sleepless nights. Minghui/Clearwisdom published the articles online and exposed the authorities evildoings, which greatly restrained the evil forces. The head of the 610 office was so frightened that he investigated who had written those articles. I thought, "I have Master to protect me. Your investigation will be fruitless."
Later, I could not get out of bed for 2 to 3 days. Blisters proliferated all over my face. My eyes could not see anything. I could neither eat nor sleep. I was struggling painfully in a stupor. I asked Master for help. I told myself, "Master does not acknowledge the old forces' persecution, and neither do I." Then, I held my husband's hand and went out to clarify the truth. On the way, a driver was startled by my appearance and asked how I was. I said, "Nothing serious. I will be ok." I handed him the Falun Gong materials. One righteous thought made a great difference. I was getting better each day.
Actually, I have been hit by a car twice since I have obtained Dafa, but I was unharmed. Master protected me.
On my cultivation path, what I have lost are bad things and what I have gained are the things that everyday persons can only dream of. I look young for my 80-plus years. Everyday people envy my longevity and my healthy body. I tell them, "These are things that cannot be bought with money. They can only be cultivated through Dafa practice. It is Master who has given me my second life."
Recently my surface body has undergone much interference and difficulty. Despite gaps that I am working hard to rectify, the old force factors, and CCP evil specter are absolutely not qualified to interfere. I cultivate in Falun Dafa, the righteous way, and no evil beings can stand in my way of saving sentient beings and helping Master rectify the Fa in this magnificent Fa rectification period. I resolve to walk a righteous path and to do the three things well. I totally negate and eliminate any influence of the CCP's evil specter on my body. With the writing of these poems, I actively declare any possible arrangements or vows I might have made in past history with the old forces, or CP evil specter, null and void.
The righteous Gods prevail
Making the grandest wish
Taking the most solemn vow
A promise to save sentient beings
Though evil snares abound
Forge ahead with a righteous heart
And with determined righteous thoughts
One after another
Evil beings are completely shattered
No room for evil beings of old
in the magnificent and wondrous new cosmos.

With each swing of the pendulum,

Having recklessly persecuted,
the evil has sealed its own fate.
Imbued with all evilness
your destruction is now at hand.
For those who persecute the righteous
will never succeed.
Completely eliminated from this body and benti;
eliminated from this small universe and beyond

Wang Youling, 90, who returned from Taiwan and lived in Xishu Village, Taibao, Changyi City, Shandong Province, practiced Falun Gong with his whole family. He was repeatedly persecuted. Local authorities extorted 30,000 yuan from him. Wang and his son died on October 30, 2003 and December 16, 2004 respectively.
Mr. Wang Youling once lived in Taiwan for 50 years. Because his family was looking after a Falun Gong exercise site, he was fined 8,400 yuan when Jiang's regime began to persecute Dafa in July, 1999. His daughter-in-law went to appeal for Dafa in Beijing, but was detained 3 times for a total of over 150 days. She was put into a chilling garage during the detention and forced to do heavy labor work with little food and without being allowed to use a washroom frequently. She also sat barefoot on the snow under coercion and was often bound to an electric pole. The authorities even humiliated her, publicly parading her around 30 villages.
On May 13, 2003, Wang Youling's son Wang Rucheng was arrested by police for practicing Falun Gong. During the night, police took away Wang Rucheng's keys and opened all locks of his home and robbed any cash they could find. Finally his release was obtained with a payment of 10,000 yuan to the corrupt authorities.
Seeing his son was persecuted so severely, Wang Youling was extremely worried. His old diseases relapsed and he collapsed to his bed due to a scare. He sadly said: "Why are Chinese so illegal? They are not like Taiwanese, who are much more friendly."
On October 19, 2003, Wang Rucheng was arrested again. Despite his father's illness, the police put the son into Changyi detention center.
Police often went to harass the family, and Wang Youling passed away on October 30, 2003.
In the detention center, Wang Rucheng was informed that his father had died. But the head of 610 office Chen Xiaodong didn't release him until he extorted an additional 4,000 yuan from the family.
Wang Rucheng was very sad about his father's death. A total of 30,000 yuan had been extorted from the family. Living in depression, his old disease relapsed, and he died on December 16, 2004 too.
(Clearwisdom.net) Practitioner Ms. Wang Cuifeng, 58 years old, lived in Zuojiakuang Village, Laiyang City, Shandong Province. She was in poor health and could not take care of herself before she started practicing Falun Dafa, but recovered after she began the practice. After Jiang Zemin and his regime started persecuting Falun Dafa on July 20, 1999, enforcers from the local 610 Office harassed Ms. Wang at home many times and ransacked her home. They placed her under 24-hour monitoring. Ms. Wang's third daughter, also a practitioner, went to Beijing many times to validate Dafa. She was persecuted and had to become homeless in order to avoid harassment and arrest at home. In the fall of 2000, the perpetrators went to the factory where Wang Cuifeng's eldest daughter worked, in order to harass her. Her family intervened and protested the harassment. The police fired gunshots to intimidate the family. They abducted Ms. Wang's eldest daughter, her daughter-in-law and her second daughter. Her son had to leave home to avoid persecution. Ms. Wang witnessed first-hand the lawlessness of the police and was very upset and frightened. She passed away in the spring of 2001.
Practitioner Ms. Xu Yonglian, 49 years old, lived in Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province. After she started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997, her chronic diabetes disappeared. After July 20, 1999, the police constantly harassed her at home. Ms. Xu suffered a relapse of her old illness and passed away in May 2001.
Practitioner Ms. Gao Demei, 81 years old, lived in Xizhuangtou Village, Linglou Town, Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province. She became very healthy by practicing Falun Dafa. When the persecution began, her family went to validate Dafa and was persecuted by the authorities. In 2000, the perpetrators broke into Ms. Gao's home and abducted her granddaughter. Gao Demei was frightened and deeply distressed to witness her family members being sent to labor camps, detention centers and brainwashing classes. Her health declined by the day and she passed away early in the morning on January 11, 2003.
Practitioner Ms. Kao Fulan, 61 years old, lived in Shilibao Village, Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province. Officials from the Mengzhi Office in Zhaoyuan City and from the Mengzhi Police Department persecuted Ms. Kao. She passed away on April 19, 2002.
Practitioner Mr. Gu Yingchun, 66 years old, was the volunteer assistant at the Baodi District practice site in Tianjin. Around 2:00 a.m. on July 17, 1999, perpetrators from the Political and Security Division of the police station abducted him and put him in a detention center where he was brutally tortured. After his release, the perpetrators continued to harass him at home, causing Mr. Gu great mental and physical suffering. He passed away on June 28, 2002. Mr. Gu's family members were monitored and harassed by the police even as they were taking care of the funeral arrangements.
Practitioner Mr. Li Bingzheng lived in the Baodi District, Tianjin. After the persecution began, the police didn't allow him to practice Falun Dafa, and put great pressure on him. Mr. Li died from persecution in 2004.
Practitioner Ms. Dong Lanying, 66 years old, was a retired worker at the No. 6410 Factory of the PLA in Jingxing County, Hebei Province. Before she started practicing Falun Dafa she was plagued by various illnesses for several decades. Ms. Dong obtained Dafa in 1994 and became completely healthy through the practice. In the summer of 2000, a group of officers from the Shigang Street Police Station in Shijiazhuang City, led by Political Secretary Wang Yudong, abducted her from a fellow practitioner's home and interrogated her. They transferred her to the Lianmeng Road Police Station where she wrote a guarantee statement against her will. The police extorted 1,500 yuan and the No. 6410 Factory extorted 1,000 yuan from her. Because of the abuse she suffered, Ms. Dong had blood in her urine after she went home. During the following two years, the perpetrators monitored her and harassed her with phone calls. Her family didn't understand her belief in Falun Dafa. Eventually, Ms. Dong was diagnosed with cancer and passed away on July 18, 2002.
Practitioner Mr. Zhang Kao was in his 70s and lived in Shenzhuang Village, Zhuolu County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. During the 2001 Chinese New Year, he went to Beijing on a bike to validate Dafa. He was held at a police station and tortured. After he returned home, the local authorities fined him 3,000 yuan. They continued to harass Mr. Zhang at home. They took his bankbook listing deposits of over 10,000 yuan. In the fall of 2003, the authorities sent Mr. Zhang to the Zhangjiakou Brainwashing Class. In February 2004, his son was also abducted and sent to the brainwashing class. As a result of the relentless persecution, Mr. Zhang suffered great depression and passed away in March 2004.
Practitioner Mr. Zhang Guoru, 39 years old, lived in Sannuhe Township, Fengrun, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. He was abducted and detained by the local police after July 20, 1999, and was often harassed and threatened. Mr. Zhang passed away from illnesses on March 20, 2003.
Practitioner Ms. Liu Genhua, 52 years old, lived in Miaopu Village, Nanjiang Town, Pingjiang County, Hunan Province. She persisted in practicing Falun Dafa after the persecution began, and went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. She was fined, detained and sentenced to one year of forced labor. At the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City, Ms. Liu was ruthlessly tortured. She was very weak after her release. Her family, brainwashed by the government propaganda, harassed her and didn't allow her to do the Falun Gong exercises. They also didn't allow visits from fellow practitioners. Liu Genhua had a relapse of a previous illness and passed away in early April 2004.
Practitioner Mr. Zhao Xuede, 78 years old, lived in Niuxintai, Benxi City, Liaoning Province. He started practicing Falun Dafa in 1996 and was cured of many illnesses. In December 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa, was abducted by the local police and held at the Benxi City Custody Center. After his release, his two daughters went to Beijing to appeal and clarify the truth; they were illegally detained. The persecution devastated Mr. Zhao and he passed away on January 12, 2000.
Practitioner Mr. Jin Shuchun, in his 40s, lived in Yingpan Village, Zhenan Township, Heishan County, Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. He obtained Dafa in 1998 and was cured of stomach cancer. On July 20, 1999 Mr. Jin went to Beijing to appeal. Because of the persecution, he was deprived of a cultivation environment and passed away on March 5, 2000.
Practitioner Ms. Du Guilan, 69 years old, lived in Shengli Street, the Wangou Mine, Jiangyuan County, Baishan City, Jilin Province. She died from the persecution on September 21, 2004.
Practitioner Ms. Sun Chengfang, 61 years old, lived in Wanghebu Town, Dehui City, Jilin Province. She died as a result of the persecution in November 2002.
(Clearwisdom.net) For the past six years, the Liushou Town Police in Funing County, Hebei Province have exhausted themselves in their efforts to persecute Falun Gong. Frequent large-scale illegal arrests of practitioners took place in the Funing County Police Station. Many practitioners were on the verge of death after brutal treatment. Sun Qiuping from Panguanying Village gave up the practice after brutal torture and died shortly thereafter.
Because Mrs. Sun Qiuping went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa, she was arrested and taken back to her local County Detention Center. Police officers Jin Gang, Wu Huiming and others from the Liushouying Town Police Station transferred Mrs. Sun Qiuping to the police station, and brutally persecuted her. According to Mrs. Sun's statement before her death, she was held in the police station for three days, during which at least twenty people took turns beating her; kicking her head, face and body with heavy boots. Her face and head became deformed. It was completely swollen and bruised. It was such a gruesome sight that nobody dared to look at her. Her face was still unrecognizable after eight days had passed.
Under all kinds of pressure and threats, Mrs. Sun Qiuping was forced to give up Falun Dafa, and write a Guarantee Statement. Before releasing her, Dang Fagui, the director from the security department of the police station, threatened her, saying: "If you dare to take part in any [Falun Gong] activity, we will send you directly to a labor camp." After her release, she became ill with hepatitis and quickly passed away.
The Liushouying Town Police Station has been in full accord with Jiang's faction for all these years. They frequently raided practitioner's homes, took whatever they wanted, and arrested practitioners. They took at least three tape recorders from one practitioner. They recently broke into a new practitioner's home, and confiscated his tape recorder, books and other materials. They search and arrest people at will without any legal procedure.
After the persecution began on July 20,1999, the Liushouying Town police brutally tortured practitioners. They arrested a physician from Niutouya Town Hospital, hung him up from a roof for a long time, and did not let him down until he was dying. They arrested practitioners at night, and did not even let them get dressed before taking them away.
On April 5, 2005, security director Ru Hongxi from Funing County Police Station, policeman Nie Huiming, and others arrested Dafa practitioner Feng Sumei in Liushouying Market while she was conducting business. They raided her home and confiscated her Falun Dafa books and materials. She is currently being held in Funing County Detention Center.

Worker's Union Official Ms. Kang Guohua from the School of Health in Changtu, Liaoning Province died as a result of persecution
Ms. Kang Guohua was 63 years old and had been a worker's union official at the School of Health in Changtu, Liaoning Province. She had undergone three major surgeries for breast cancer, gallbladder cancer and intestinal membrane cancer. She also had hard-to-cure diseases such as coronary heart disease, diabetes and a stroke. Luckily she started practicing Falun Dafa on Oct. 4, 1998. All of her illnesses were cured and she gained a second life.
Ms. Kang persisted in her belief in Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance and was persistent in truth-clarification. In August 2003, political and judiciary section personnel from the Changtu County Police Department arrested her and extorted 1,000 Yuan from her. On July 29, 2003, the Beijie Police Station in Changtu County arrested her and again extorted 1,000 Yuan from her. Around the same time, the National Security Team leader Liu Jianxin led a group of policemen to ransack her home. Then they took her to the Changtu County Detention Center and detained her for 14 days. They extorted 3,000 Yuan from Ms. Kang's husband and forced him to write a guarantee statement on behalf of Ms. Kang, promising that she would give up practicing Falun Gong.
On July 23, 2004, Shang Yufeng, the deputy chief of the Beijie Police Station joined the head of the Beijie neighborhood committee. They led a group of people to ransack Ms. Kang's home and arrested her. They intended to lock her up in a detention center again, but after the family paid 2,000 Yuan they released her. After constant harassment and persecution, Ms. Kang's mind and body suffered great harm. She suffered a recurrence of an old illness and died within a week, on July 30, 2004.
78-year-old lady from Fuxin City, Liaoning Province left home twice to avoid the persecution and died
Ms. Wen Ruilan was 78 years old and lived on Limin Street in the Haizhou District, Fuxin City, Liaoning Province. After she started practicing Falun Dafa in 1998, she became very healthy. She was persistent in practicing Falun Dafa even after the persecution started. On Nov. 22, 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong, but was arrested at Tiananmen Square and was humiliated by the police. The police took 200 Yuan from her pocket, which was all the money she had with her. She was detained a day and a night in the Fuxin City liaison office in Beijing. Then they sent her back to the Fuxin City Haizhou Police Department where she was interrogated. The police didn't release her until they extorted 200 Yuan from her family members.
In 2000, Ms. Wen was arrested again in another practitioner's home and was taken to the Haizhou District Heping Police Station. The police charged her with "illegal gathering." One of her family members bailed her out so that she was exempt from criminal detention. In 2001, two officers from the Political and Judiciary section at the Fuxin City Police Department went to her home; she didn't answer the door. Soon, several policemen went to her home and searched throughout. All they could find was a truth-clarification flyer. They threatened Ms. Wen and then left.
In May 2003, a practitioner she had contact with was arrested. Several officers from the Political and Judiciary section went to her home again. They knocked fiercely on the door and wanted to arrest her. She was forced to leave home for several months to avoid arrest. During those several months, the officers from the Political and Judiciary section, officers from the Heping Police Station and personnel from the neighborhood committee often harassed her family members.
Between July and August 2004, someone near the building where she lived watched Ms. Wen. In addition, officers from the Political and Judiciary Section went to her home and fiercely knocked on her door many times. To avoid persecution, she left home again.
Ms. Wen's mind and body suffered long-term harm due to the continued persecution, and her illness recurred. She was diagnosed with late stage lung cancer. She died on Feb. 15, 2005.
Although the effects of a stroke had earlier vanished, Ms. Wang Shuzhen suffered the recurrence of her old disease and died after the persecution drove her to stop practicing
Ms. Wang Shuzhen was 75 years old. She was from the Xiedong Group of Guanzhangzi Village in Gushanzi Town of Chaoyang County, Liaoning Province. After she started practicing Falun Dafa in 1998, her severe bone illnesses and the effects of a stroke vanished. She could read the whole book Zhuan Falun, even though she never went to school. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, policemen went to her home to harass and threaten her many times. Her mind and body were greatly harmed. She suffered a recurrence of a stroke and died on April 11, 2005.
Mr. Guo Yushan, accountant from the Third Farm, the Changtu County Agricultural Machinery in Liaoning Province, died due to persecution
Mr. Guo Yushan was 66 years old. He was a retired accountant from the Third Farm of Changtu County Agricultural Machinery of Liaoning Province. Mr. Guo had heart disease and a stroke. After he started practicing Falun Dafa he became healthy, both physically and mentally.
On Oct. 19, 1999, Mr. Guo Yushan went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong, but the police from the Hongdingshan Police Station in Beijing arrested him. They took him back to the Changtu County Beijie Police Station and incarcerated him at the Changtu Detention Center. Mr. Guo Yushan refused to cooperate with the policemen's wrongful requests. Personnel from the National Security Team extorted 3,000 Yuan from his family members and detained him for 38 days.
On August 14, 2003, when Mr. Guo was clarifying the truth at the Baoli Town government, somebody reported him. Zhang Shiliang and Zhao Tieshi, the heads of Baoli Police Station, arrested him. They didn't release him until his family members paid 3,000 Yuan. The next day they tricked him and ended up locking him up at the Changtu Detention Center for 45 days. They extorted 2,000 Yuan from his family members as bail money.
Around July 20, 2004, four officials from the Baoli Town government and from the Baoli Police Station suddenly appeared at Mr. Guo Yushan's home to threaten and harass him, trying to keep him from clarifying the truth or traveling. Because of the continued ordeals, threats and persecution, Mr. Guo Yushen passed away on Nov. 13, 2004.

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Linwen Ruthlessly Tortured in the No.2 Division, No.1 Ward of the Harbin City Women's Prison
On December 21, 2004, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Linwen refused to acknowledge she was a prisoner and took off her prison uniform. At about 2:00 p.m. policemen Lu Heng and Deng Yu led prisoners Bai Xiaoli, Xin Zhirong, Chen Huanhui, Liu Ying and Liu Chao to her cell to force her to wear the uniform. They handcuffed her hands behind her back. Then they hung her up so that her toes barely touched the ground. This is actually a kind of excruciation torture named "Shangdagua." Even a prisoner sentenced to execution is not allowed to be tortured using this method. Ms. Zhang was hung like this for about 20 to 30 minutes, until she gave up. When she was taken down, the handcuffs were embedded in her flesh. Even today, the scar is clearly visible and her left hand is numb. This was the third time she was tortured this way. The previous two times were on March 10, 2004, and on March 18, 2004.

2. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Three Years in Prison are Currently Appealing
Practitioners Wang Chenghong, Fan Jinping, Shan Xinhuan and another one with an unknown name from Nanyang City, Henan Province were all sentenced to three years in prison. They are preparing to appeal to the Nanyang City Intermediate Court. The appeal should start within ten days of April 30.
3. [Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Guixiang and Ms. Zhang Jinfang Arrested
Practitioners Ms. Wang Guixiang, about 40 years old, and Ms. Zhang Jinfang, about 50 years old are from Paoya Township, Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province. On the morning of April 23, 2005, officers, including Cui Xiaohong from the local police station, arrested them. It has been heard that they are currently detained at the Wafangdian City Detention Center.
4. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] The Police Arrest Practitioner Ms. Li Guijuan and Send Her to a Brainwashing Center
Practitioner Ms. Li Guijuan, 38 years old, is a teacher at the Yuheqiao Primary School in the Kuiwen District, Weifang City. On April 29, 2005, several officers from the Dayu District Police Station and from the Weifang City Police Department suddenly broke into the primary school and arrested Ms. Li. They claimed that a certain student's parents reported that she had distributed Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. In the afternoon, they forcibly sent her to a brainwashing center in an Industry Cadre School and ransacked her home.
5. [Shangqiu City, Henan Province] Ms. Wu Ruihua Arrested When She Went Out to Clarify the Truth about Falun Gong
In early April 2005, when practitioner Ms. Wu Ruihua from Shangqiu City went out to clarify the truth, she was arrested. She was taken to the city's National Security Team and then was detained at the Shangqiu City Detention Center.

6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] The Police Sentence Mr. Wang Wenren to One and a Half Years of Forced Labor
Practitioner Mr. Wang Wenren, 41 years old, is an employee of the 228 Factory in the Chaoyang District, Changchun City. His vision and hearing were bad. Because of his determination in Falun Gong his position and salary were suspended, making his family including a child and his elderly mother lead a poor life.
In July 2004, Mr. Wang was sentenced to one and a half years in a forced labor camp because personnel from the Nanhu New Village Police Station claimed that they found Falun Gong materials at his home. He is currently being detained at the No.3 Division in the Changchun City Weizigou Forced Labor Camp. Mr. Wang said that there were no Falun Gong materials at his home at all. A certain policeman had planted the materials at his home in order to arrest him.
When he was detained at the forced labor camp, Qing Gele, the director of the Jingyue Prison in Changchun City, denied Mr. Wang's family the right to visit him on the grounds that his mother was also a Falun Gong practitioner. This violates the law that states, "A detainee in forced labor camps has the right to see his family." After Mr. Wang reasoned with the police, his family visit was eventually granted.
7. [Shanghai] Ms. Yan Qiuying and Daughter Arrested for Posting Truth-Clarifying Materials
On January 27, 2005, the police arrested practitioners Ms. Yan Qiuying and her daughter from the Yangpu District of Shanghai where the two practitioners were posting Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials in the residential buildings of the Zhongyuan Community. Their whereabouts are unknown.
8. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Gou Jingzhen and Two Other Practitioners Held at a Detention Center for Distributing Truth-Clarifying Materials
On April 19, 2005, practitioners Ms. Gou Jingzhen, Jiang Guangfu, Ran Rongzhen, from the Renhe District, Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province, were arrested when distributing truth-clarifying materials at the Dalongtan. Police hung up and beat Ran Rongzhen. Afterward, Ran had a high fever and was in critical condition, but the police still attempted to send Ran to the Wanyaoshu City Detention Center. Fearing to take any responsibility, the detention center authorities refused to accept Ran. Thus, Ran Rongzhen was sent back home. Gou Jingzhen and Jiang Guangfu were held at the detention center, as were practitioner Ms. Ran Qunying and Ms. Wu Xiulan who were arrested on April 6.

9. [Huangmei County, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhan Nanzheng, Wu Renliang Arrested and Sent for Brainwashing
On April 18, 2005, the authorities from the Huangmei County Political and Judiciary Committee, from the "610 Office" and from the Political and Security Section of the Police Department went to the home of practitioner Mr. Zhan Nanzheng. He is an employee of the County Power Administration Bureau who was just released from the County Detention Center. They duped Mr. Zhan into coming to have a talk. Then they arrested him and put him right into the Hubei Province Legal Institutional Forced Brainwashing Facility in the Jiangxia District, Wuhan City. In the meantime they ordered the Power Administration Bureau to pay 3,000 Yuan and arrange for a person to accompany him.
On April 19, they ordered the Bureau to adopt an implication policy. Mr. Zhan's three sons were suspended from their jobs. They threatened Mr. Zhan to get him give in. Otherwise, they would not allow his three sons to go back to work.
On April 16, practitioner Wu Renliang from the No.1 Farm in the Longganhu Farm Administration District, Huanggang City was arrested and put into the provincial Legal Institutional Forced Brainwashing Center. The Longganhu Farm had to pay 3,000 Yuan and assign one escort.

10. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Shu Miao Arrested for Clarifying the Truth
On April 12, 2005, practitioner Ms. Shu Miao, in her 50s, from Shenzhou City, clarified the truth to Zhang Niu, the owner of the Yusong Photo Studio at the City Trade Center and gave him a copy of the "Nine Commentaries." Unfortunately, Zhang Niu's youngest daughter-in-law, Zhang Youhui, reported this to the City Police Department. The police arrested Ms. Shu, and she is being held at the City Detention Center.

12. [Shanghai] Several Practitioners Arrested and Sentenced to Prison and Forced Labor
An arrest took place on April 6, 2005. It is reported recently that from among those practitioners arrested from the Weifang Street Community in the Pudong District, Shanghai. Fa Zhengping and Xu Jianying were sentenced to prison; Ge Meiyu, Zhu Wenxian, Sun Wenjuan and Tao Tanying were sentenced to forced labor.

On the afternoon of April 15, 2005, officers from the Baoqing County Police Department ransacked a practitioner's home in Qixingpao Town and arrested Guan Shuli and Wang Ling. A practitioner's family member said personnel from the "610 Office" extorted 10,000 Yuan from him/her before they released the practitioner.
15. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Persecution Accounts of Practitioners from Anshan City
Mr. Zhang Jinghua, over 60 years old, was arrested in January 2002 and sentenced to three years of forced labor. During his detention, the torture was so severe that he became blind and could hardly walk. After he was released, his condition improved a little bit. In March, shortly after Mr. Zhang left home, he was arrested at Lishan Park and put into a detention center.
Mr. Zhang Yu, son of Mr. Zhang Jinghua, is also a Dafa practitioner. He was sentenced to seven years in prison at Shenyang City's Prison.
Ms. Liu Hong, 34 years old, single, was arrested while attending a group study at Shen Zhenlan's home. She was later sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.
Mr. Zeng Qingzhong and Ms. Han Yuqing are a couple. They were arrested while attending a group study at Shen Zhenlan's home. Ms. Han has been released. Mr. Zeng is still being held at the Anshan Forced Labor Camp.
Ms. Zeng Ze, daughter of Mr. Zeng Qingzhong, 21 years old, was sentenced to seven years in prison after the Falun Dafa materials production center was destroyed. Her case has been reported on minghui.ca (the Chinese version of the Clearwisdom website).
Ms. Yong Fang, a former volunteer Falun Dafa practice site assistant, was arrested in July 2004. She is now being held at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.

She is now being held at the Yuemingshan Forced Labor Camp. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated a great many Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials. The police thought her home was a Falun Dafa materials production center because a few practitioners always go there to study the Fa together, but it's not true.
16. [Chongli County, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Jianmin Sent to the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp in Baoding City
Mr. Liu Jianmin from Gaojiaying, Chongli County, Zhangjiakou City read certain Falun Dafa books, felt he benefited a lot and decided to become a Falun Gong practitioner. At around 5:00 p.m. on December 21, 2004, without showing any warrant, personnel from the Political and Security Team, Chongli County's Police Department, the Gaojiaying Police Station, together with Zhangjiakou City's Police forcibly arrested Mr. Liu while he was walking on a street in Zhangjiakou City. They put him in a detention center. Mr. Liu staged a hunger strike to protest the persecution. On December 26, 2004, he was sent to the Baoding City Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp. To date he has not been released. His elderly mother has been crying ever since and she shakes and trembles whenever her son is mentioned.
17. [Guyuan County, Hebei Province] Five Practitioners Sent to the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp in Baoding City
In October 2004, Guyuan County's "610 Office" sent five practitioners from Guyuan County to a labor camp. They are: Liu Tai, Zhang Chunlan, Sun Runtao and others. They were transported to the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp without going through any legal procedures. The practitioners are still being held.
18. [Pei County, Jiangsu Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison
Between 2000 to November 2003, Cao Houcun, Pan Xujun, Zong Xunyong and Wang Xinchun from Pei County were sentenced to nine years, seven years, six years and eleven years in prison, respectively. They were sent to the Nanjing Jurong Women's Prison and the Sihong Men's Prison.

Facts of the Persecution
Falun Dafa practitioner Xu Jianrong from Jiangxi Province illegally sentenced to seven years in prison
Falun Dafa practitioner Xu Jianrong, born April 3, 1961, worked at the No. 9 Jiangxi Print Shop. On June 24, 2000 he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. He was detained in Beijing and tortured with seven electric batons to his naked body until he lost consciousness. On October 26, 2000 he again appealed for Falun Dafa and was sentenced to one year of forced labor. After his release, he was abducted by perpetrators from the Security Division of Jiangxi Paper Factory and sent to Jiujiang City. On April 12, 2004, perpetrators from Dongjiayao Police Station and several National Security Bureau officers arrested him. He was illegally sentenced to seven years in prison and has since requested an appeal. In the prison, he was hung up by the hands and shocked with electric batons. He is now crippled from the torture and cannot stand up.

Persecution of Dafa practitioners in Nanchong City, Sichuan Province
Dafa practitioners from the Shunqing District, Nanchong City in Sichuan Province have been ruthlessly persecuted. The perpetrators are police officers, including Zhang Youxuan, Tian Ming, Wang Zeyun, Zhong Jian, Deng Min, Sun Linbin and An Sheng. Zhang Youxuan, Tian Ming and others tortured practitioner Li Jianhou to death in March 2003. They abducted Li Jianhou's wife Zhang Qingfen and sentenced her to prison.
Practitioner Li Xiaofang abducted and subject to tortures at a detention center causing blurred vision
Practitioner Li Xiaofang, in her 50s, lived in the Shunqing District of Nanchong City. She was reported as a Falun Gong practitioner by Zhang Zhenglin, head of Huafeng Town Security Division in Shunqing District, Nanchong City. As a result she was abducted and sent to a police station. Li Xiaofang clarified the truth to Zhang Zhenglin, but he refused to listen. He handcuffed Li Xiaofang and hit her with his fists. Officer Zhang Zhenglin's wife, Jia Guifang, abducted another practitioner, He Junhua, and took him to the police station. Zhang Youxuan from the Shunqing District Police Department sent the two practitioners to the Jialin District Detention Center.
On March 16 Li Xiaofang was released. Her legs and feet are aching and sore to this day and her vision is still blurry.

Practitioner Ms. He Xuehua, in her 50s, lived in the Shunqing District of Nanchong City. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999 she went to Beijing to appeal and was illegally sent to a labor camp. After she returned home in 2001, the perpetrators abducted her and sent her to a brainwashing class. In the fall of 2002, the Shunqing District Court tried fellow practitioner Li Jianhou, and He Xuehua went to the courthouse to witness the proceedings. He Xuehua was abducted from the courthouse and sent to the Shunqing District Detention Center. Later she was transferred to the Gaoping District Detention Center in Nanchong City. She remains there today. At the detention center He Xuehua was severely malnourished. Currently she has lost her vision completely, and her legs and feet are swollen. She cannot stand up on her own and cannot take care of herself. Zhang Youxuan has tried to send Ms. He to a forced labor camp, but the labor camp refused to accept her and sent her to the Gaoping Detention Center. Zhang Youxuan refused to release her to the new location and has claimed that will have to die in his detention center before he will let her go.
Practitioner Ms. Wang Yan had a nervous breakdown after being persecuted at Beijing Prison and is currently being held at the Deyang Prison in Sichuan Province
Practitioner Ms. Wang Yan was 35 years old. She used to live in Nanchong City, Sichuan Province. In 2002 she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and was detained at the Beijing Female Prison. The guards there ordered her to curse her Teacher, but she refused. Then the guards pinned her to the ground and stabbed her throat with chopsticks until the blood began gushing out. The guards and inmates forbade her to sleep, monitoring her all day long and carrying her around to prevent her from sleeping. Later, they forced her to do manual labor for long periods of time. Under the pressure she suffered a mental breakdown. The inmates continued to beat and verbally abuse her. From torture, the skin on Wang Yan's buttocks have become infected, causing pus, itchiness and pain. Right now, Wang Yan is being held at the Deyang Prison in Sichuan Province.

By persisting in her belief, practitioner Ning Shuxian was persecuted for three years at the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp
My name is Ning Shuxian and I am 50 years old. On May 17, 2002, police officers from the county police department came to my home and ransacked it. They abducted me and sent me to the county detention center. They put me in shackles weighing 18-jin for 17 days. My ankles became severely bruised. I was later sentenced to three years of forced labor. On August 8, 2002 I was sent to the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp. This was the second time I was sent to a labor camp. Division heads Zhao and Yao ordered inmates to force me to squat, and they would beat me if I didn't squat the right way. My legs became numb after squatting for a long time. This torture caused me to sweat profusely and have difficulty breathing. They also tortured me with a method called the "Big Hang-up." I felt as if my tendons were being torn apart and my bones were being pulled out of their sockets. The ropes cut into my flesh and it bled a lot. My arms turned black and blue from lack of oxygen. For periods of time I was not allowed to talk or sleep, and I was forced to squat. I was also forced to do slave labor. Practitioner Wang Haifu from Zhuolu County, Hebei Province persecuted for his belief
Practitioner Wang Haifu from Zhuolu County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, was abducted and sent to the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp on March 16, 2005, for one year. Officials from the County 610 Office accused Wang Haifu of writing "truth clarification letters" to Dong Min, head of the Political Security Division, and to Wang Yucheng, head of the local police station. On April 20, 2002, Wang Haifu was sent to a police station and held for nearly two months. In June 2002 he was sent to the Zongshi Village Brainwashing Class in Zhuolu County. At the brainwashing class, Wang Haifu was beaten until his feet swelled; he was forced to stand on one foot on red-hot bricks and balance on a furnace hook. The perpetrators hit him with an axe handle and with the furnace hook. Perpetrator Li Ziming whipped Wang Haifu's ears with wood sticks. He forced Wang Haifu to put his hands straight out in from of him and would hit him any time his hands were not perfectly level. After 13 days of torture at the brainwashing class, Wang Haifu escaped with the power of righteous thoughts, but went into exile for over three years. On February 6, 2005, Dong Min and Zhao Yifei from the 610 Office led a group to trick Wang Haifu into going to the 610 Office. Wang Haifu was captured and sent to the county detention center. Persecution of practitioner Yang Xiuyong from Fengning County, Hebei Province
Practitioner Yang Xiuyong from Fengning County, Hebei Province was illegally detained numerous times for validating Dafa. He was held in a "strictly controlled group" at the Hehuakeng Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City for 35 days, during which time he was forced to sit on a wooden stool. The guards tied him up, beat him and shocked him with electric batons. For posting truth clarification flyers he was sent to the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp on a three year sentence. At the labor camp, the guards wrapped telephone lines to his thumbs and electrically shocked him with a hand-crank telephone. They also shocked him with electric batons, slapped his face, beat and kicked him, hand-cuffed him and forced him to squat for prolonged periods of time.
